Theodore Roosevelt’s life almost ended on the campaign trail. In 1912, while running for a third presidential term, Roosevelt was the victim of an assassination attempt at the hands of a violent and deluded saloonkeeper, John Flammang Schrank.

It happened at a Milwaukee campaign stop while TR was running for another presidential term with the Bull Moose Party. The former president was leaving his hotel to attend a campaign event when the vengeful Schrank stepped from the crowd and fired. The bullet passed through his overcoat, the folded 50-page manuscript of his speech, and his metal eyeglass case before lodging in Roosevelt’s chest, stopping just short of any vital organs. Its force, the surgeons reported that night, had been “much diminished.”

An angry mob quickly formed around Schrank as enraged Roosevelt supporters realized what had just happened. Roosevelt was able to calm the crowd, stopping them from hurting the would-be assassin until the police arrived. Declining to go to the hospital, TR went on to give the life-saving speech while bleeding copiously through his shirt. He famously told the crowd, “I don’t know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot, but it takes more than that to kill a bull moose.”

After finishing the speech, TR was finally taken to the hospital by aides. Doctors concluded it was safer to leave the bullet in his chest rather than risk removing it. TR’s bloodstained shirt remains a symbol for the lengths Roosevelt would go to achieve his convictions—and the mercy he would show to the man who tried to kill him. Schrank was never tried. Five doctors found him insane, and he was committed — first at Oshkosh, then, from 1914, at Wisconsin’s Central State Hospital, where he died in 1943.

      second…if I could give that last one a thousand likes i would. why is that not a law? because congress makes the law.

EXCERPT: “As the rise of Islam in the West continues to dominate headlines, there’s a crucial reality many are overlooking: Muslims in the West are more “radical” than Muslims in the Middle East and North Africa. Why? Because they simply get to practice Islam in its full capacity. They are being wholly Muslim, unlike their brothers and sisters under Islamic dictatorships, who face rulers who permit them to practice Islam as long as it does not threaten their political authority.

    The evidence is striking. A 2015 report found that about 16,000 jihadists from the Middle East and North Africa went to fight with jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq. That region has about 414 million Muslims, 94 percent of its population. Western Europe, where Muslims numbered about 26 million in 2016, less than 5 percent of the population, produced more than 5,000. That is one jihadist for every 25,000 or so Muslims in the Middle East and North Africa, and one for every 5,000 in Western Europe, more than four times the rate.

    The gap widens in individual countries. Belgium, with about 860,000 Muslims in 2016, produced roughly 500 jihadists, one for every 1,700. France, with 5.7 million Muslims, produced about 1,700, one for every 3,400. Indonesia, with about 239 million Muslims in 2020, produced about 600, one for every 400,000. Belgium’s rate is roughly two hundred times Indonesia’s.

    A study coordinated by Germany’s federal criminal police found that, in 2025, 23.8 percent of Muslims in Germany called an Islamic theocracy the best form of government, up from 18.7 percent in 2021, and 25.1 percent put the rules of the Quran above German law. In France, 24 percent of Muslims told Institut français d’opinion publique (IFOP) they sympathize with the Muslim Brotherhood, whose founder called restoring the caliphate an obligation on every Muslim.

    Muslims in the West are a small minority in rich, safe, free countries. Muslims in the Islamic world are the majority, and Islam runs their courts, their schools, and their calendars. The second group should be the more militant one. The first is, by a wide margin. So what is happening? Why does Islam in the West, at a fraction of the numbers, produce more jihad per head than the Muslim world does?

    For 13 centuries Islam divided the world into the House of Islam and the House of War. Jihad was a divine duty of Muslims, led by the ruler. Peoples who surrendered paid the jizya and lived as dhimmis, and those who refused were fought. Jihad was the foreign policy doctrine of the Islamic Caliphate since the days of Muhammad. The last caliph to officially use this doctrine was Sultan Mehmed V, who in November 1914 proclaimed jihad against Britain, France, and Russia and called on Muslims everywhere to rise……”

    EXCERPT: “I actually love fall weather. The crisp mornings, pleasant afternoons, and changing colors are wonderful. My only complaint is that fall has a nasty habit of being followed by winter, a season I could happily do without.

    Around the farm, I am in a race against the calendar, frantically trying to finish mowing the back pastures and the big mare pasture before the weather turns. I’ve made good progress, with just a few hours of mowing left to go. Of course, those “few hours” have a way of stretching into several days when farm life intervenes.

    Kitty gets to bush hog with me, which is evidently better than being left in the house. So she tolerates the noise, the shaking, and the bumps – as long as she can be on my lap.

    Robert’s big passion recently has been target practice. Which of course, requires the ongoing building of a shooting range. Which means lots of time planning, designing a safe place – far from where people might encounter it.

    I don’t think I need to justify why this might be important to us, particularly to Robert.

    Fall Harvesting and Planting.

    The garden is still producing tomatoes and both hot and sweet red peppers, although the tomato plants are looking decidedly worse for wear. There are plenty of half-rotten tomatoes scattered about, which seems to be an inevitable part of the October garden. At this point, harvesting tomatoes is something of a treasure hunt, with the occasional squishy, unpleasant surprise…..”

    After Omar’s Washington, DC, home was raided by Homeland Security Investigations agents on Monday, Pirro told Fox News her office had opened the probe — this one revolving around Omar’s finances. “That is subject of an investigation as well,” Pirro said when Fox News’s John Roberts mentioned previous allegations about Omar’s net worth and finances.

    “It doesn’t matter what the House does,” Pirro said. “It doesn’t matter, you know, what this agency or that does. We’re looking at the facts. Based upon the facts, we’ll follow them wherever they take us.”

    In January, the New York Times reported that the Biden administration had begun an investigation into Omar’s finances after reports suggested she amassed a multimillion-dollar net worth since being elected to Congress.

    Since the raid on her D.C. home, reports have circulated that the immigration-related investigation into Omar involves the birth date she used to immigrate to the U.S. from Somalia. A new report from the New York Post details how Omar’s office had her official birth year changed in public records from 1981 to 1982 after she was elected to Congress.

    Pirro suggested that the evidence DOJ and DHS have against Omar must have been convincing enough for a judge in Washington, DC, to sign off on such a search warrant just weeks out from this year’s midterm elections. “That judge would not have signed that warrant unless there was probable cause,” Pirro said on Fox News. “And probably more than that given the individual who’s involved.”

    “There are several investigations going on, and I don’t think there’s any question, but if there was a crime that was committed, it will be prosecuted,” Pirro continued.”

    “Cyberattack Heated Fridges Up to 122 Degrees at Supermarkets Across France”

    “A cyberattack has disrupted refrigeration, delivery and pricing systems at supermarket chains across France, Belgium and the Netherlands, impacting at least 700 stores so far. The hack caused fridges to heat up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius).

    CNBC reports that the attack forced refrigeration units at supermarkets including Intermarché, Leclerc and Coopérative U into a continuous defrost cycle at 122 degrees. Normally these units defrost for about two hours a day. Sources described “a wave of heat” escaping from fridges and freezers as a result. The attack reportedly targeted refrigeration controls made by Danfoss, and also hit deliveries and in-store pricing through electronic shelf labels.

    Dominique Schelcher, president of Coopérative U, confirmed the incident earlier this week. In an English translation quoted in the article, he said: “A cyberattack has been affecting the refrigeration production facilities of several stores in our network since last night.” He called the situation “extremely serious” and said teams had been mobilized to fix the problem, with an investigation to follow.

    Losses are expected to climb into the millions of Euros as shops are forced to discord spoiled food. According to Reuters, the hack was perpetrated on refridgerators made by Danfoss, which blamed “outdated firmware:”

    Danfoss said it was “aware of incidents in France affecting a limited number of refrigeration management systems”.

    The affected units “were running outdated firmware”, Danfoss said, adding that it had “long advised customers to keep supported systems updated with the latest firmware and to migrate legacy systems to current-generation solutions”.

    No one has claimed credit for the cyberattack or has made a ransom demand as of this writing. Breitbart News has reported extensively on infrastructure sabotage, which this hack may prove to be. Breitbart News reported in September that a train derailment in France was suspected to be a sabotage incident:

    The regional train was carrying 186 passengers from Rouen to Caen when it derailed Friday evening at Cléon, in the Seine-Maritime department of northwestern France.

    An 18-year-old woman was among the injured and was evacuated by helicopter to Rouen University Hospital, police said.

    A spokeswoman for the French national police communications service, known as SICOP, said that the piece of rail found on the track was “probably” linked to the derailment. She spoke on condition of anonymity because she wasn’t authorized to be publicly named in line with police policy.
