What Shall We Make Today?

Today’s recipe is Pumpkin Shaped Cake! The recipe calls for 2 cakes baked in bundt pans. The frosting can be any frosting you choose–vanilla tinted orange for example.

Cooling and Flipping Your Cake

Once you’ve baked your cakes, it’s important to allow no less than 5 minutes to cool in the Bundt pan. (But don’t let it cool for much longer than 5 minutes. If it cools for longer it might stick in the pan.)

Then you’ll place a cooling rack on top of the Bundt pan and flip it over. If you’ve used enough spray, it should release immediately.

Trim the cooled cakes so that you have 2 flat surfaces. Add some frosting on top of one of the cakes and flip the other on top, matching the curves.

Tint some of the icing orange and some green. Take an ice cream cone and frost it green and gently place it in the center.

Frost the top or as much of the “pumpkin” you want and then add green vines.

ENJOY!

Public high school classroom turned into an MSA mini-mosque. Friday prayers. Palestinian cause pushed. Muslim Brotherhood-linked group running Islamic activity out of a taxpayer facility.

This is the soft entry point – special Islamic privileges and dawah inside American public schools while other faiths get lectures on “separation.”

At the same time, Fort Bend Precinct 3 Constable Ali Sheikhani – Pakistani-born, arrived on a student visa, now a wealthy Republican official – runs a county law enforcement office.

Rolls in a Rolls-Royce. Returns to Pakistan throwing cash on camera. Welcomes foreign Pakistani dignitaries into a Texas police station. Owns Sheikhani Plaza packed with Pakistani/Islamic businesses.

Elected as a Republican. The takeover doesn’t need tanks – it arrives in badges, plazas, and motorcades.

This matches the pattern of the Pakistani-born Democratic House members Muslim Suleman Lalani (Fort Bend) and Muslim Salman Bhojan i (Tarrant):

    • Swore in on the Quran
    • Push Islamic holiday recognition, halal mandates, Pakistan Day honors, and “Combat Islamophobia” days
    • Have advised non-citizens on remaining silent and refusing to sign during ICE/police encounters

Texas is becoming Pakistan. American schools and police stations should not be outposts for Islam or their political networks.

Parents, school boards, and voters: Who approved the classroom? Who is looking at the Constable’s foreign ties? Demand answers before the incremental replacement becomes permanent.

If I understand it correctly there are 94 federal districts with their own district court judges, They are restricted to filing cases within their own districts. If any district court can file nationwide injunctions why have district courts at all? All you need is just one district court since they are not restricted to their district. That makes all the appeals courts and the supreme court nothing but referees for the lower federal courts. There you have it folks, judicial tyranny. A nation run by unelected political hacks with zero accountability and they answer to no one. The perfect answer for those who wish to rule a country but accidentally lose an election.

    FTA
Meanwhile, the state has recovered just $285,339 of the $10.6 million total, which equals the 2.7% and the $2.69 for every $100 stolen through fraud figures.
The administration of Democrat Gov. Maura Healey says 95% of the cases in the Massachusetts auditor’s report were referred by state agencies.
“Our goal is to make sure Massachusetts residents who need assistance can access the benefits they qualify for, while protecting these critical programs from fraud and abuse,” a spokesperson for the state Executive Office of Health and Human Services told the Herald. “The figures in the Auditor’s report do not capture the full scope of the state’s efforts to recover funds and protect taxpayer dollars.”
Talcove says every states must share information about SNAP benefits recipients with the federal government to root out fraud.
However, Healey has reportedly declined to do so because, she says, the Trump administration has given her no assurances that the data will not be passed on to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

How Is ICE Legal? Congressional Authorization, Federal Statutes, and Constitutional Framework Explained
    https://allaboutlawyer.com/how-is-ice-legal-congressional-authorization-federal-statutes-and-constitutional-framework-explained/

ICE exists because Congress authorized its creation through federal law—specifically the Homeland Security Act of 2002, Public Law 107-296. This legislation reorganized federal immigration enforcement after September 11, 2001, merging functions from the Immigration and Naturalization Service and U.S. Customs Service into a new agency under the Department of Homeland Security.

The Homeland Security Act was passed by the 107th Congress and signed on November 25, 2002. At that time, Republicans held the House, while Democrats controlled the Senate (with Senator Jim Jeffords caucusing with Democrats).

The recorded House vote on the bill was 295–132 on July 26, 2002. Of those voting against, 122 were Democrats and 10 were Republicans. The House later accepted the Senate’s revised version by voice vote, so there was no final recorded party-by-party tally.

In the Senate, it passed 90–9 on November 19: 41 Democrats and 48 Republicans voted yes; 8 Democrats voted no, and one Republican did not vote.

Chuck Schumer voted yes on the Senate’s November 19, 2002, passage of the Homeland Security Act.

24 years ago Chuck Shumur and the majority of the Democrats supported ICE. What changed? The Democrats decided to cheat.

  5. EXCERPT: “House Republicans are pushing ahead with sweeping legislation to obliterate sanctuary cities, setting up a post-election vote that would empower victims of illegal immigrants’ crimes to sue the local officials who released them from custody.

The Shut Down Sanctuary Policies Act passed through the House Judiciary Committee with little fanfare last month, creating a path for GOP lawmakers to impose the toughest crackdown yet on states and cities that refuse to turn over illegal immigrants under federal detainers or outright release migrants in their custody.

The bill’s most poignant weapon creates a right of private action for victims and families of victims to sue the municipalities and officials who released violent offenders, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Just the News.

“We got a good deal that we worked long and hard on”: Jordan

The provision would strip some of the civil immunity that state and local officials enjoy. Currently, in some jurisdictions, those officials enjoy “absolute immunity,” which is the broadest form of the doctrine.

“It allows people who’ve been harmed, where local political leaders tell the local law enforcement they can’t work with federal law enforcement, detainers aren’t honored … to go take that city, take that state to court, and say, ‘look, this was ridiculous. What happened and was so wrong, so tragic,'” Jordan explained.

“So we got a good deal that we worked long and hard on. We just got to try to get it passed in the lame duck [period],” he added

In addition to the lawsuit provision, the bill also: ……”

A witness told local TV station WXIA an image of the man falling  was captured on his souvenir picture taken while on the Goliath ride, which the Six Flags website says can reach speeds of 70 mph.

Six Flags officials said in a statement they were “deeply saddened by the guest incident,” and that park workers and local authorities responded immediately.”

  7. Just The News: “New York has declined under the second Trump administration to process over 16,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement orders to detain suspected illegal migrants accused or convicted in more than 50,000 criminal charges, according to a news report Tuesday morning.

The number is being reported by The New York Post based on what the news outlet said was new data from the Department of Homeland Security. The Post says the department says municipalities across the state have refused to comply with its detainment requests 16,070 times since President Trump re-entered office roughly two years ago.

Homeland Secretary Markwayne Mullin appears to be putting the blame on the Democrat-led state’s top leaders, particularly Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Zohran Mandami. “We enforce these laws with no help from Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul,” Mullin told The Post.

At issue are so-called sanctuary city policies in which states and municipalities limit how much local governments and police cooperate with federal immigration enforcement agencies – particularly restrictions on holding immigrants in jails following an ICE “detainer.”

“While sanctuary politicians continue to release dangerous criminals onto their streets, our brave law enforcement officers will continue to risk their lives to arrest these heinous criminals and make America safe again. Illegal aliens have no sanctuary in America,” Mullin said to The Post.

Hochul’s office responded to the allegation, telling the newspaper: “Governor Hochul has been clear: New York State is not and never will be a sanctuary for violent criminals. By law, New York State always notifies federal immigration enforcement of any non-citizen serving a State prison sentence.”

The newspaper says that according to DHS, 52,503 criminal charges or convictions are associated with the ICE detainers including 131 homicides, 132 kidnappings and 1,017 sexual offenses.”

  8. Hmmmm…..what do you and hubby think of this, Pat?

EXCERPT: “State lawmakers want to ease the burden of high electricity bills on residents and small businesses. While Pennsylvanians can already shop for their own electricity supplier, a new proposal would allow communities to shop on their behalf, potentially giving customers greater bargaining power and additional options to pursue competitive rates.

The proposal comes as residential electricity prices in Pennsylvania have risen sharply in recent years. According to the state’s Independent Fiscal Office, the average residential price increased nearly 46% between 2018 and 2025.

Rep. Nathan Davidson, D-Lemoyne, recently announced plans to introduce legislation that would authorize Community Choice Aggregation, or CCA, programs in the commonwealth.

CCA programs allow a county, municipality, or group of local governments to combine the electricity demand of participating residents and small businesses, and purchase generation from a competitive supplier on their behalf, while the existing utility continues to provide transmission and distribution service.

Pennsylvania customers can either remain with their utility’s default generation service or choose a competitive supplier, including options available through PA Power Switch. CCA would add a collective purchasing option through local government.

Davidson told The Center Square that the legislation’s top priorities are robust consumer protections, including extended notice periods, complete fee and rate transparency compared to utility default service, and rigorous regulatory oversight…..”

  10. “Dems Melt Down Over Feds’ Omar Search After Praising Biden’s Mar-A-Lago Raid”

The Federalist, By: Shawn Fleetwood, October 13, 2026

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “No one is above the law.” That’s what House Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said after the Biden Justice Department indicted Donald Trump nearly a year after an unprecedented raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate. But now that one of their own has found herself the subject of a federal search, Jeffries and his party are singing a different tune.

The search at issue happened early Monday morning at the Washington, D.C., residence of Rep. Ilham Omar, D-Minn. According to sources who spoke with Fox News, federal Homeland Security Investigations agents executed the judicially authorized search as part of a “criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.”

Omar has faced notable allegations of corruption through the years, some of which rest on “extensive evidence suggesting that the Muslim representative legally married her flamboyant brother before a Christian minister,” as Federalist Senior Contributor Ben Weingarten reported.

Omar predictably cast Monday’s search on her estate as “an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement” — a talking point quickly adopted by Jeffries and fellow Democrats. But such rhetoric is a significant departure from Democrats’ gleeful response to the Biden FBI’s 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago, which came as part of Jack Smith‘s illegal classified documents lawfare against Trump.

Presidential wannabe and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., released a video message on Monday decrying the search of Omar’s home as a “targeting” of Trump’s “political opponents.” He also seemingly suggested that the move was based on the fact that Omar is Muslim.

That response is a complete 180-degree turn from the one Khanna gave following the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago infiltration. Appearing on MSNBC, the California congressman defended the Biden administration’s actions as “non-political” and claimed that the FBI had “some probable evidence about possible wrongdoing” since it got a judge to sign off on the search warrant.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., characterized the search of Omar’s residence as “a disgusting abuse of power” and “a dangerous sign of an authoritarian president who will stop at nothing to distract you from his deep unpopularity with the American people.” When it came to the raid on Mar-a-Lago, however, Jayapal applauded the Biden administration and said that Trump “should be in jail.”

Former Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., similarly came rushing to Omar’s defense by claiming that the search of her home is designed to satisfy Trump’s base, whom he called “blood-thirsty” and “racist.” Yet, when pressed by CNN after the Mar-a-Lago raid about whether Congress should investigate Trump over the classified documents issue, the ex-Squad member defended the raid and fervently agreed by saying, “Oh, absolutely. Trump should be investigated for many things.”

Omar’s Islamist sister-from-a-different-mister and fellow Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., also threw her “Trump is grossly abusing his power” hot-take out on social media. The America-hating congresswoman notably defended the Biden DOJ’s raid on Trump’s home with Democrats’ played out “No one is above the law” schtick.

Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., is another Democrat now criticizing the feds’ Omar search after previously trotting out the Trump is “not above the law” talking point to run interference for the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid.”

Guilfoyle has been embroiled in scandal over revelations that she had asked a major political donor to wire her $100,000 to pay off an American Express bill.

Trump appointed her to the post early in his administration and shortly after she and Donald Trump Jr. ended their longstanding relationship. She was previously a close advisor to the president and before that was a major figure on Fox News.”

“Drug company gifts, meals, and payments to doctors lead to worse prescribing, review of 93 studies finds — Findings span drug types, promotional activities, and primary care and specialist physicians”

US Right to Know, Pamela Ferdinand| October 9, 2026

    EXCERPT: “Key findings

    • Pharmaceutical marketing aimed at doctors, from gifts to meals and payments, may increase inappropriate prescribing and the quantity and cost of prescriptions.
    • Conflict‐of‐interest policies that restrict or manage interactions between pharmaceutical companies and doctors can limit prescribing of inappropriate drugs and overprescribing.

Gifts, payments, free meals, and other marketing ploys by pharmaceutical companies heavily influence doctors to prescribe more drugs, choose less appropriate treatments, and drive up prescription costs, according to a systematic review of 93 studies.

These prescribing choices can expose patients to drugs that offer fewer benefits, cause more side effects or are unnecessary, while increasing health system costs. The review, published today [October 9] in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, found that policies restricting interactions between drug companies and doctors were associated with better prescribing choices, lower costs, and possibly fewer prescriptions.

“Overall, when doctors have more contact with drug company promotion, prescribing tends to become less appropriate, more frequent, and more expensive,” said co-author Dr. Lisa Bero, an affiliate professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Center of Bioethics and Humanities. “This is problematic for a number of reasons, and it matters because it directly affects patient care.”

Dr. Quinn Grundy, director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Governance, Accountability and Transparency in the Pharmaceutical Sector, agreed.

“It shows what we have long suspected—that when doctors accept free meals, payments for consulting or sitting on an advisory board, and visits from sales representatives, they tend to prescribe more of the promoted drug, that their prescribing costs go up, and that they are prescribing drugs that are less appropriate or unnecessary,” said Grundy, co-author and associate professor at the University of Toronto.

Earlier this year, another systematic review found doctors with more contact with pharmaceutical companies prescribed more painkillers and spent more on opioid prescriptions. The findings also come at a time of increased pharmaceutical promotional activity, especially for GLP-1 weight-loss drugs……”

She can’t follow the “front-to-back” wipe process either so she gets them frequently. I had asked her about using the test strips and she had never heard of them so I ordered some on Amazon and had them sent to her. She received them last week and tried them – the strip showed a kidney infection, so she made an appointment with her doctor. He checked deeper and was super impressed, saying the strip may well have saved her life since there had been no indication to cause him to test further. He told her to be sure to tell me thank you from him! Super cool!

NBC White House correspondent Kristen Welker asked El-Sayed about allegations his family has connections to the Islamic group. El-Sayed denied any such connections twice in the interview with one-word responses. Welker asked no follow-up questions on the issue and moved on to other issues.

Eman Abdelhadi, a University of Chicago professor and El-Sayed’s half-sister, posted comments on X about her mother and other family members’ ties to the Islamic group in June 2012, shortly after Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Morsi was elected president of Egypt.

“Had an amazing talk with my mom about her activism in the Muslim Brotherhood during the early 70s while she was in college,” Abdelhadi said in one post. In another post, she stated that her family has “long been” associated with the group.

In his book, “Healing Politics,” El-Sayed wrote about his mother’s campus activism but made no mention of any association with the Muslim Brotherhood.”

  21. Just The News: “Cornell University is suspending parties and other social events at fraternity houses for the remainder of the academic year, the school’s president said Tuesday, amid the resurfacing of allegations a female student was sexually assaulted at a frat house in 2024.

Cornell President Michael Kotlikoff said in announcing the ban on such parties that New York State Police will have a role in investigating sex crimes on campus.

“These measures will provide time for a thorough review of fraternity life at Cornell to determine whether and how it can safely continue,” Kotlikoff wrote in a letter to the campus community.

He also vowed to add a case manager to the Ivy League school’s Office of Civil Rights to help those who report sexual misconduct on campus navigate the process, and allow New York State Police criminal investigators to join campus police in investigating allegations.

None of the seven fraternity members who allegedly participated in the 2024 incident, in which alcohol and drugs were involved, was charged. The matter resurfaced last month when the woman, who is no longer a Cornell student, filed a Jane Doe civil suit against the plaintiffs.”
