What Shall We Bake Today?

Mounds Bars are one of my favorite candies and this recipe, Mounds Cookie Bars, is supposed to taste just like them!  I have not tried them yet, but I will update this if I do before it posts.

Ingredients

2 cups graham cracker crumbs

¼ cup white sugar

½ cup melted butter

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

2 cups flaked coconut

1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips, melted

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl; mix to combine and pat into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Keep the oven on.

Combine condensed milk and flaked coconut; spread over the crust and continue to bake for 15 minutes.

Spread melted chocolate over coconut layer. Set aside to cool and let chocolate harden, about 1 hour. Cut into squares.

ENJOY!

      1. Good Morning Gina!
I forgot to update this post–I DID make these–they are DELICIOUS! I was skeptical of the graham cracker bottom, but it turned out great. Only thing i would change is next time i will use an 8 x 8 pan. These were a little thin for my taste. but we ate them all!
OH…I love rose of sharon bushes!!! I envy anyone who can have flowering anything!!
        May God Bess You!

      2. Morning, Gina! So you have Rose of Sharon bushes too. My two bushes are also blooming. What color are yours? Mine look pink in the pics but they are actually a pale lilac color:

This is the one outside the fence on the west, near the yellow Lilac Bush (that has yet to bloom – can’t wait for that to happen!).

          1. I originally ordered 5 of them but considering I got one helluva deal, I was happy to get 2 healthy bushes out of the deal. They were on sale for like $3 each or something like that.

    2. Morning, Pat! Still hot and humid – 74 w/clear skies again. You could send some of those rain clouds my way – I wouldn’t complain at all! LOL – enjoy your lunch out! This is one recipe I wouldn’t try even if I did any baking. Not fond of coconut except in German Chocolate frosting.

        1. We desperately needs some of that rain! I love to snack on raw coconut but I don’t like it cooked in things except the frosting.

BREAKING: Big Election Integrity Win for Trump Administration

One night after delivering a national address on election integrity, President Trump has achieved a major legal victory.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has temporarily cleared the way for the U.S. Postal Service to move forward with its proposed election mail rule, staying a lower court order that had blocked the policy.

The proposed rule would require states to provide voter registration lists and serialized ballot barcodes before USPS would process and deliver federal election ballots through the mail.

In its ruling, the appeals panel said USPS is likely to prevail on appeal for two separate reasons.

First, the court found the legal challenge was likely premature because it targets a proposed, not final, rule. Second, the panel indicated the policy would likely not violate the Postal Service’s 2021 settlement agreement with the NAACP.

The judges also accepted USPS’s argument that leaving the injunction in place would prevent the agency from finalizing the rule in time for the 2026 elections.

President Trump gets a big win in court as the administration pursues further election security measures, such as passing the SAVE America Act.

NOW: President Trump just unleashed this truth nuke

Pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT NOW, SENATE GOP!

“For many years, I have called for bold, swift, and decisive action to protect the integrity of America’s elections. Every American deserves to know that when they cast their vote, that vote will be counted accurately in a system that is secure—one where cheating and interference are not just difficult, but virtually impossible.

Unfortunately, the system we have today falls catastrophically short of that standard. Tonight, I am announcing the immediate declassification and release of critical intelligence revealing shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure.

This evidence shows that the election system we have is dangerously exposed to hacking, exploitation, and foreign interference. Just as disturbingly, this vital information has for many years been covered up and hidden from you, the American People, and that changes right now.

The documents we will release starting tonight have been gathered by the White House Government Transparency Task Force, along with the staff of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board—supported by our top intelligence agency chiefs, who have all personally reviewed the findings we are presenting this evening, and fully confirmed their authenticity.“

BREAKING: Kentucky Politicians Want to Know If Mitch McConnell is ‘Dead’

Multiple Kentucky politicians demand that Mitch McConnell’s office provide convincing proof that the senator is still alive.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says he received multiple calls suggesting McConnell may have died while he was hospitalized.

Speaking with Katie Couric, Beshear said two separate calls from government agencies raised alarms and he sought reassurance about McConnell’s condition.

“I got two calls from agencies suggesting that Sen. McConnell had passed away,” Beshear said.

Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie has also questioned McConnell’s actual state of health.

McConnell, 84, has been hospitalized or in a rehabilitation center for over a month. In his July 12 statement, his office reassured Americans the senator was working hard for Kentuckians, but was not yet able to return to the senate floor.

“My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.”

The McConnell office also released a photo that was widely scrutinized on social media. Many Americans have demanded more conclusive evidence that he is able to serve, such as a live interview or video statement.

    1. “Trust me” no longer works, assholes!!! Y’all screwed the pooch for good on that one!!! BTW, that phrase was originally coined as “fucking the dog” in WWII. In the 60’s someone at NASA changed it to make it more socially acceptable; after that, it was used thruout the movie “The Right Stuff” and came to be used in common terminology. LOL – bet ya’ didn’t know that!!!

        1. It just struck me and I had to look it up. You know, I get these odd, off-the-wall thoughts/ideas and just have to check it out. BTW, went 2 rounds with 1 squirrel yesterday – the second time I think I hit him and he decided to promptly un-ass the property! I’ve decided not to worry over the occasional excursions of the Turkey hen in my back yard. She never gets into anything and always stays close to the outside edge of the yard. When she doesn’t find what she is apparently looking for, she leaves on her own. No harm/no fowl! (Heh,heh)

  6. EXCERPT: “A newly declassified CIA report says the Venezuelan government “could have” used voting machines to rig elections. President Donald Trump declassified a series of documents and reports related to election integrity on July 16, including a “CIA Note” entitled, “Summary of Select Intelligence Reporting From 2004-2020 on Venezuela’s Electronic Voting Manipulation Capabilities.”

The note says that between 2004 and 2020, “intelligence established that Venezuelan government officials developed sustained interest and likely some capability in manipulating electronic voting systems, including Smartmatic technology, to influence electoral outcomes in Venezuela.” The document says it was produced under the auspices of the CIA’s deputy director of analysis and is dated June 29, 2026.

The CIA produced a baseline assessment of Venezuela’s 2012 presidential election that maintained mass electronic election fraud had not occurred. A 2013 CIA “devil’s advocate” analysis, the note says, provided “plausible scenarios” in which “large-scale electronic manipulation could have occurred in Venezuela’s 2012 election without detection.”

The note summarizes sources reporting that, prior to the 2012 Venezuelan presidential election, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez’s “intelligence services … worked with the National Electoral Council and Smartmatic to develop plans to manipulate election results using preprogrammed voting machines.” The source or sources of that reporting, however, are censored in the document released Thursday.

The note includes claims that such plans included sending “altered machines” to roughly 300 voting centers in pro-Chavez areas “to ensure victory by approximately 1.5 million votes.” Chavez won that election by roughly 1.6 million votes, according to the note……”

  9. “Declassified: Michigan Voter Fraud and Chinese Influence Ops”

    Techno Fog, July 18, 2026

EXCERPT: “This is a big one in both length and materiality – newly declassified documents from the White House (available for download here) that cover:

    1. Democratic large-scale voter fraud in Michigan in 2020; and
    2. China’s acquisition of voter data and Chinese plans of election interference;
    3. Vulnerabilities in electronic voting systems; and
    4. Noncitizens on state voter rolls.

    We begin with Michigan.

In March 2021, the FBI was informed that the State of Michigan is investigating allegations of fraudulent voter registrations submitted to the Muskegon City Clerk’s Office. State investigators were estimated that between 8,000 to 10,000 voter registrations had been delivered by mail and by hand. (It should be noted that Muskegon City had a population of only 37,000 people per 2020 estimates.) Here is the link to the FBI’s Opening Electronic Communication.

The City’s Clerk determined that some (if not many) of the applications were fraudulent. The State’s investigation revealed that canvassers were paid to register voters in Michigan’s largest cities by reloadable debit cards. Canvassers refused to identify their employer to the authorities and changed their stories concerning whether they were paid for each completed form or paid hourly.

According to one canvasser interviewed by the FBI in 2023, some voters were registered multiple times. Some canvassers “had their friends sign duplicate applications.” The canvassers weren’t just “registering” voters – they were also “tasked to go door to door to hang fliers saying to vote for Biden.”

Another canvasser told the FBI that she suspected canvassers “might be forging signatures” based on the number of signed registration forms they were returning. Other interviewees stated that canvassers “would trade marijuana and/or money for voter registration applications.” Another canvasser stated that they were told by leadership – in a meeting with over 100 canvassers present – “if they couldn’t get enough applications, they should just fill them in.” Everyone at the organization, including its leadership, “was aware” the fraud was occurring.

The DOJ Public Integrity Section’s (PIN) cover-up of the Michigan voter fraud started from the beginning. At first, it only authorized an investigation into prepaid cards and not into voter fraud. In August 2021, four months after the DOJ PIN finally approved the voter fraud investigation, it ordered “no further action should be taken.”

The DOJ PIN desire to close the investigation left a bad taste in the mouth of the FBI agents who were doing the work on the ground. Internal FBI emails from November 2021 discuss objections to closing the investigation (“I’m not really comfortable closing the case at this point”), noting that canvassers “submitted fraudulent voter registration applications.”……”

  10. Just The News: “The United States Central Command said Saturday that two American service members were killed in Jordan this week and one service member is missing in action.

The military said the incident took place Friday while CENTCOM and “partner forces” defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. The identities of the fallen and missing service members have not been disclosed.

Four other American service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan but have since been discharged. An undisclosed number of other U.S. personnel were evaluated for minor injuries and have returned to duty.

“Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM will withhold additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified,” CENTCOM said.”

THIS has to be SO SCARY for those witnessing this in person or losing all they have!

With the money Canada sent to Ukraine, we could have bought roughly 50 fully crewed CL-415 water bombers… and still had enough left over for another 250.

    Instead, we watched Jasper burn.

Trudeau campaigned on hiring more firefighters and promised we would never see another disaster like Jasper again. He had over 7 years in power to actually deliver on that. What we got instead was more virtue signalling, more billions sent overseas, and the same pathetic air tanker capacity we’ve had for years.

Jasper didn’t have to be that bad.
    The tools existed.
    The money existed.
    The political will did not.

Liberals would rather play world saviour than actually protect Canadian communities. They’ll send billions to foreign wars and foreign aid while our own forests and towns go up in flames.

This is what happens when your government cares more about looking good on the world stage than keeping Canadians safe at home.

Squad Dem in the hot seat after spending spree at luxury hotels: ‘Champagne socialist’

A far-left “Squad” Democrat is facing scrutiny after spending thousands of dollars in donor cash at lavish hotels nearly 2,000 miles away from her home district, a Fox News Digital review of FEC records found.

“Squad” Rep. Ilhan Omar’s, D-Minn., campaign dropped over $6K on high-end hotels and private transportation between April and June, including payments to a Ritz-Carlton resort in Palm Springs, a hotel with sweeping views from the Hollywood Sign to downtown Los Angeles, and a luxury stay in the heart of Times Square, the congresswoman’s latest financial filings show.

The payments, covering April 1 through June 30, included $2,131.90 to W New York in Times Square, $1,613.23 to The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood, $1,143 to Blacklane Transportation, $926.80 to Ace Hotel & Swim Club Palm Springs and $682.41 to the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

Overall, the campaign reported more than $28,000 in travel expenses and more than $23,000 in food, beverage and catering expenses during the three-month filing period.

The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage bills itself as a luxury Palm Springs resort overlooking the Coachella Valley and San Jacinto Mountains, with an exclusive Club Lounge, dedicated concierge service, spa, salon, fitness center, main pool, adults-only Vista Pool and whirlpool.

  14. Just The News: “The State Department on Saturday issued a caution on worldwide travel, citing heightened tensions in the Middle East. The department warned that the situation in the region, in which attacks between the U.S. and Iran are increasing, could result in unforeseen escalation and urged Americans overseas to monitor the news for breaking developments in the regions.

“The Department of State advises Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution,” the department said in the advisory. “Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.”

The department warned Americans that travel could be disrupted if there are flight cancellations or airspace closures and that American diplomatic facilities outside the Middle East have been targeted.

“Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world,” the department said.

The escalated missile and drone attacks over recent days and weeks in the Middle East break a ceasefire upon which both sides agreed earlier this year.”

  15. Just The News: “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said this week the prime minister has rescheduled his planned trip to the United States by a week to coincide with the funeral of the late-Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Graham, who was a major supporter of Israel, died unexpectedly last week at the age of 71-years-old. His office said the senator’s funerals will take place on July 28 in Washington, D.C., and July 29 in South Carolina.

Netanyahu has also delayed the trip after failed efforts in recent days to arrange a meeting between him and President Trump, reports i24 News in Israel, based on what the news outlet said were sources familiar with the matter. Those efforts ultimately failed, with no date finalized for a meeting and no preliminary understandings reached regarding its agenda or expected outcomes, preparatory steps that are typically completed before a summit between national leaders.

The prime minister praised Graham as a “great friend of Israel” in a reaction post to the late-senator’s death and stated that Israel had “no better friend than Lindsey.”

“Lindsey understood that the security of Israel and America are inseparable,” Netanyahu posted on X. “He devoted his life to defending America, strengthening our alliance and standing up for the free world. Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend.”

The upcoming visit will be the leader’s first official trip to the U.S. since American forces engaged in a conflict with Iran.”
