Hawaii State Motto

The state seal of Hawaii features the official state motto: “Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ‘Āina i ka Pono;” native Hawaiian translating as “The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness” (Hawaiian is also officially recognized as the state’s native language).

Hawaii’s state motto is also featured on the U.S. Mint’s commemorative quarter for Hawaii.

  1. EXCERPT: “There is scientific evidence suggesting that COVID-19 vaccination may be linked to increased cancer risks, according to experts who will testify tomorrow at a U.S. Senate hearing. The hearing, “Plausible Mechanisms of COVID-19 Injections Causing Cancer and Attacks on Scientific Publications,” is the latest held by the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).

Doctors and scientists scheduled to testify include:

Dr. Aseem Malhotra, a prominent British cardiologist and public health campaigner.

Dr. Angus Dalgleish, professor emeritus of oncology at City St. George’s, University of London.

Wafik El-Deiry, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University.

Dr. Sabine Hazan, CEO of the research genetic sequencing lab ProgenaBiome.

Saskia Mostert, M.D., Ph.D., a pediatric oncologist in the Netherlands.

CHD.TV will livestream the hearing tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. EST.

Although details have yet to be revealed, topics will include the biological mechanisms by which COVID-19 vaccines may increase cancer risks and resistance on the part of some scientists and health officials to acknowledge such discoveries.

The hearing will also cover how scientific publications on the effectiveness of early treatments for COVID-19 were also suppressed. For instance, Hazan, a gastroenterologist and microbiome researcher, has had several of her peer-reviewed publications on COVID-19 treatments and the microbiome retracted — with no public reason given, according to TrialSite News…..”

  2. EXCERPT: “It’s a bizarre day in the neighborhood.

Billionaire Bill Gates devoted a great deal of time and money to try to make himself look as kind and approachable as TV’s Mr. Rogers — with his team even using a custom-size mannequin to test out boring potential outfits, according to a new report.

Gates’ team toiled away on crafting the nerdy image he’s known for today to make the 70-year-old tech mogul appear as a benevolent man focused on helping the world, current and former employees told the Wall Street Journal.

To that end, his stylists tested outfits for different days of the week on the custom mannequin, with the team having access to “troves of neutral tone crew and V-neck sweaters, button-down shirts, slacks and extra pairs of the Silver Lining Opticians ‘Carbon’ glasses at an off-site building,” the Journal said.

The outfits were specifically picked for Gates to wear during public events, with his employees reportedly sending the billionaire’s senior staff three options to choose from.

The carefully selected wardrobe was meant to evoke the “calm and approachable” image of Fred Rogers, the beloved TV personality who ruled the public airwaves for decades.

While Gates’ appearance was more in line with a quintessential nondescript tech nerd, the team believed their efforts were successful by the time a 2019 YouGov poll found the billionaire ranked at the very top of public figures whom people look up to…..”

  3. Just The News: “Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin announced Tuesday that the Trump administration is taking steps to eliminate animal testing by proposing 13 new “high-quality alternatives.”

The EPA said it is updating its list of cutting-edge alternative test methods to replace the use of animal studies for chemical assessments under the Toxic Substances Control Act and Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.

“When the Trump Administration makes a commitment, we deliver,” Zeldin said in a statement. “With today’s announcement, we’re accelerating the shift to modern, gold standard science – without the use of animal testing – by using new, innovative methods to review chemicals.”

The agency is also streamlining its process for researchers, companies and stakeholders to nominate alternative test methods for consideration in pesticide and chemical assessments.

“By broadening high-quality alternatives and inviting strong new candidates, we can deliver faster, more protective decisions while reducing animal testing,” Zeldin said.

The new alternative test methods include a way to evaluate eye hazards with reconstructed human cells and a method to evaluate phototoxicity using a 3D human cell-based tissue model, among others.”

  4. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order asking AI companies to allow for a voluntary government review of new models before releasing them to the public.

The order falls well shy of an earlier version that would have set the review period at 90-days before release, Politico reported. Instead, the order calls for voluntary review just 30 days before a product goes public.

Initially, Trump was set to sign the order on May 21, but he rejected the original draft. Trump signed the order in private, without the usual fanfare and livestream. The 2024 Trump campaign gained considerable support from the tech sector, with Silicon Valley moguls even fundraising for him.

But AI has increasingly attracted scrutiny from the government and the public, including from the expansion of data centers needed to accommodate the increasingly advanced models and their widespread use.”
