Hawaii State Motto

The state seal of Hawaii features the official state motto: “Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ‘Āina i ka Pono;” native Hawaiian translating as “The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness” (Hawaiian is also officially recognized as the state’s native language).

Hawaii’s state motto is also featured on the U.S. Mint’s commemorative quarter for Hawaii.

  1. Morning All!

    it’s sunny but only 40*.

we had a raccoon on the deck last night…sigh …and judging from the large pile of poop he left, he (or she) was a big one! hubby’s going to get the trap ready.

    see what today brings…

      1. Morning Gina!

I checked in the “bin” there were no comments in there, so I am cllueless about what could have happened to it…sorry.

Every year the raccoons come up on the deck to raid the mouse bait boxes. The little bait pellets are slightly sweet smelling i think and the raccoons empty the darn things. then it doesn’t kill them but it does give them diarrhea…joys.

hubby will put out traps, trap them and get rid of them. it’ll be a summer long battle.

        Enjoy your day!
May God Bless you as well!

    2. Morning, Pat! More rain overnight, still overcast and 66 w/more rain predicted for several days. Hmmmm….I’ve never seen a raccoon here but a couple of weeks ago, I saw a big pile of what looked like old poop in my north garden bed where I hang the jelly feeder. First time I’ve seen anything like it here. It was odd that I hadn’t noticed it before but it was the same dark color as the dirt. I thought it might be from a big cat – it looked waaay too big for little Wheezer. If it was a raccoon, I would have thought it would get into the jelly…..🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

      1. Morning Filly!

raccoon poop does look like dog poop–could it be a dog??

we rule out dogs because we’ve never seen one here and the trail cam would show coyotes or something else dog like…but it’s always raccoons.

        bear poop is distinctive too.

        what a terrible morning conversation…LOL

  4. so they get an obama judge to allow a group to fly a 86-47 flag near the National Mall. this is a move to protect comey imo. the judge says “86” merely means remove or get rid of, not murder, so it’s fine.

First, we have a judge apologizing to two Trump assassins. Now another judge has decided that 86-47 is fine. Unsurprisingly, he’s an Obama judge.

A federal judge has ordered the National Park Service not to interfere with a liberal organization’s display of an “86-47” flag at its ongoing demonstration near the National Mall, rejecting the contention that the phrase was meant as a coded call for violence against President Donald Trump.

U.S. District Judge Randall Moss issued a two-week restraining order Monday at the request of Accountability Now USA, which has been protesting Trump for months at a site in front of the federal courthouse on Constitution Avenue.

Moss concluded that the group intended to advocate for Trump’s removal from office via impeachment, and that “86” is not an unambiguous call to political violence — and certainly not the kind of “imminent” violence that would be necessary to justify restrictions on speech.

The Obama-appointed judge appended a Merriam-Webster definition of the term “eighty-six,” which defines it as a 1930s soda-counter slang meaning “to throw out “ or ”to get rid of.”

Uh-huh. We’re pretty clear on what it means a century later.
Meanwhile, let’s flash back to the time when a rodeo clown dressed up like Obama or when a figure of Obama on an outhouse float triggered massive outrage and calls for federal investigations.
The same people defending 86-47 still falsely insist that Sarah Palin’s bullseye map led to an assassination.
But as usual, leftist violence is speech and anyone else’s speech is violence.

  5. OOOPS…claimed asylum in US stating he was gay (punishable by death in his native country), gets a job as a corrections officer and then MARRIES his boss’s stepdaughter.

The DHS issued the following statement to The Daily Mail:

Habib entered the country illegally in March 2023 near Lukeville, Arizona, and was released into the country by the Biden administration, where he was reportedly hired as a corrections officer in Indiana.

He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

His pending asylum application is believed to be fraudulent, as he applied based on homosexuality in 2023 but married a woman in 2025.

Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE is restoring law and order. Illegal aliens have no place in our communities, especially in positions of law enforcement.

Per the Mail, Habib is currently being held at the Clay County Jail detention facility in Brazil, Indiana.

  6. Just The News: “The conservative group, Article III Project, asked the Justice Department on Monday to investigate Colorado officials who imprisoned former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters for tampering with county voting machines to prove there was alleged fraud in the 2020 election.

Peters, an ally of President Donald Trump, was convicted in 2024 of tampering with the voting machines after she was allegedly trying to prove election rigging six months after the 2020 election, according to Colorado Public Radio. She was sentenced to nine years in prison but an appeals court ruled last month that she needs to be resentenced after part of the sentence punished Peters for her protected speech regarding claims that there was fraud in the election.

The conservative group argued in the letter, obtained by the Daily Caller, that Colorado officials illegally retaliated against Peters for leaking voting machine data in 2021.

“The evidence is clear: Colorado government officials conspired to severely, unconstitutionally, and criminally punish Tina Peters because of her First Amendment-protected views on election integrity,” the Article III Project wrote in the letter.

The group asked the department to investigate Judge Matthew Barrett, who sentenced Peters to nine years, Democratic Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, Republican Mesa County District Attorney Dan Rubinstein and Democratic Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold over their involvement in the alleged retaliation scheme, along with “any and all other potential coconspirators.”

The letter comes the same day that Peters was released from prison after Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis commuted her sentence. She is now out on parole. Peters’ legal team is seeking to overturn the criminal convictions that sent her to prison.”

  7. Just The News: “The D.C. Circuit Court on Monday issued a ruling barring the Pentagon from pursuing the removal of transgender troops currently serving in the military, while allowing the War Department to enforce a ban on new recruits.

The decision will have effect while the case proceeds through the court system. Under the second Trump administration, the Pete Hegseth-led War Department has attempted to remove “woke” elements from the military, including through a stricter policy on transgender soldiers.

The D.C. court wrote that the administration had failed to show that a temporary injunction against removing transgender personnel would harm national security.

    gov.uscourts.cadc_.41889.1208855359.0.pdf

However, the calculus is different for those Plaintiff-Appellees who seek to join the military. While Plaintiff-Appellees who seek admission to the military have been deprived of constitutional freedoms, the harms and equities of their situations are not identical to those of persons already serving,” the judges wrote.

“Plaintiff-Appellees seeking admission to the military can still obtain full relief later, following a final adjudication on the merits. For those servicemembers facing expulsion, it is not clear how easily they can be reinstated and made whole,” they wrote. “But even if they can be reinstated after being separated, it appears to us to be a much greater hardship to end a military career than to delay the start of one.”

  8. Just The News: “Florida on Monday became the first U.S. state to sue OpenAI over the alleged harms caused by the artificial intelligence firm, arguing it knowingly released an unsafe product and ignored warnings about its possible harms.

The lawsuit, filed by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, alleges that OpenAI permitted its flagship AI assistant ChatGPT to aid and abet mass shooters, encourage user suicides, damage users’ critical thinking skills, and addict minors, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“This litany of harms is driven by Defendants’ insatiable quest to win the AI arms race and amass large fortunes, despite knowing the danger of ChatGPT,” the lawsuit reads.

The lawsuit also targets OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman directly for allowing the product to be released with these alleged faults.

The lawsuit follows a criminal investigation Uthmeier opened in April after prosecutors uncovered the role that ChatGPT played in the Florida State University shooting last year. The suspect in the shooting, Phoenix Ikner, used ChatGPT to aid in the planning of the attack.”

  9. Just The News: “Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday announced a major fraud bust in which authorities cracked down on misuse of public funds intended for autism aid in Minnesota.

Kennedy highlighted that the original cost of the Early Intervention Development Program was a mere $38.1 million in 2020, but that it had ballooned to $442 million in 2026, with much of that increase stemming from fraud.

“Today’s arrests represent the largest autism fraud bust in American history,” he said. “This was an organized theft that exploited the most vulnerable, deceived families, stole taxpayer dollars meant to help children with autism access legitimate care and support.”

“Investigators uncovered brazen schemes that billed taxpayers for nonexistent services, fraudulent diagnoses, and fake care while criminals enriched themselves at public expense,” he added.

The bust came as part of a larger effort by the Trump administration to crack down on public fraud across the nation. Revelations of massive public fraud in Minnesota went viral, following reporting from independent journalist Nick Shirley, who highlighted allegedly fraudulent daycares receiving public funds in the city.

Those revelations came amid an immigration crackdown in the city and prompted federal law enforcement to more closely scrutinize the city and states’ expenditures.”

“It is June 2, 2026. By the time you read these lines, I will have left this world. For those who do not know me, my name is Christine Cotton. I am what is known as a whistleblower. I worked for 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry in the management and analysis of clinical data. As a biostatistician, since December 2020, I have immersed myself in the documents of the COVID vaccine from the Pfizer laboratory. I have written numerous documents and done many broadcasts to share the real results. My conclusions are catastrophic, beyond the invalidity of the results due to errors or even manifest frauds. The Pfizer vaccine that the population received, that you may have received, is not the one from the clinical trial with the 95% efficacy announced by all the politicians, journalists, and TV doctors. You were administered a product for which there were absolutely no results, neither of efficacy nor of tolerance. This message is not intended to create sensationalism on social networks but to inform you of one of the biggest manipulations that humanity has ever known. All the evidence is in the latest version of my work, which I invite you to download and read. For the lazier ones and the very busy, the few pages of the conclusion and the links to the source documents will already enlighten you a great deal. I fell ill at the very moment I filed a complaint against the health authorities. For over a year, I have been suffering from excruciating pain starting from the lower back down to my legs, burning sensations in the skin, mainly in the legs and back. I have consulted general practitioners, neurologists, osteopaths, virologists, dermatologists, rheumatologists, psychiatrists, homeopaths… I have swallowed thousands of capsules of dietary supplements, anxiolytics, neuroleptics, painkillers prescribed by the pain center. I have even done bioresonance sessions and seen magnetizers, and this without any result. I am at the end of what I can bear. I ask forgiveness from those who love me, you who have followed me on social networks for 4 years, my friends, my parents, and above all to God or whatever his nature or name may be, to end my life—I, who have never ceased to protect it since childhood, whether plant, animal, or human life. From the bottom of my heart, I thank those who have supported me, encouraged me, and all those who pray or have organized prayer groups. I am going to ask you to pray once more so that my soul may be in the light of the Creator as soon as possible.”

  28. “Trump Reform: Fewer U.S. Embassies in Africa Will Grant Visitor Visas”

Breitbart, Warner Todd Huston, 2 Jun 2026

Some of 114 refugees evacuated from Libya arrive at Rome's Leonardo Da Vinci Internat
    AP Photo/Domenico Stinellis

“The U.S. Department of State is preparing to drastically reduce the number of African embassies that will be able to process visas for migrants looking to enter the U.S.A., according to reports.

Currently there are 50 U.S. embassies and consulates across Africa that have the capability to process visa applications and vet applicants, but the Associated Press reports that the Trump administration intends to slash that down to only 20 that will be permitted to process applications from Africans who wish to migrate to or visit the U.S.

The move would be part of the administration’s efforts to tighten visas and lower the number of migrants permitted to enter the U.S.

The news was delivered during a conference call with Africa-based U.S. diplomats and their staffers, the AP adds. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio presaged the cut in a directive approved last week that noted the U.S. will winnow visa application centers down to about 20 “hubs” across Africa.

Visas from Africa have faced pressure in other areas, as well. The Trump administration added several regions to the list of blocks for awarding visas, and hiked the costs to a $15,000 bond for filing, not to mention restrictions placed on areas affected by the ongoing Ebola plague.

The State Department does not seem to be preparing to close the other 30 consulates, but the services they can offer to migrants and visitors will be limited.

The Department also noted that it continues to reevaluate policies “in order to deploy taxpayer resources in a way that advances America’s priorities as efficiently and effectively as possible” and to make sure the visa process “maintains rigorous standards of security screening and vetting and aligns resources and operational capacity with America’s national interests.”

The 20 embassies and consulates where visa applications will continue to be processed include: Abidjan, Ivory Coast; Accra, Ghana; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Cape Town, South Africa; Dakar, Senegal; Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania; Djibouti, Djibouti; Johannesburg, South Africa; Kampala, Uganda; Kigali, Rwanda; Kinshasa, Congo; Lagos, Nigeria; Lome, Togo; Luanda, Angola; Malabo, Equatorial Guinea; Monrovia, Liberia; Nairobi, Kenya; Port Louis, Mauritius; Praia, Cape Verde; and Yaounde, Cameroon.”

“ICE Pleads with Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger to Keep Locked Up Illegal Alien Accused of Raping Girl”

“Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is urging Virginia. Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) to make sure an illegal alien, accused of raping a teen girl, stays locked up in jail rather than being released back into the community.

Cristian Romario Saenz-Argueta, a 31-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested in Prince William County, Virginia, on May 26 and charged with one count of rape by force, threat, or intimidation, and two counts of carnal knowledge of a child between the ages of 13 and 14.

According to police, Saenz-Argueta used social media to contact a girl who was under 15 years old, portraying himself as 18 years old. Police allege that in November of last year, Saenz-Argueta met up with the young girl in a parking lot and sexually assaulted her.

“This sick illegal alien from El Salvador now faces three felony charges for raping a girl under the age of 15,” the Department of Homeland Security’s Lauren Bis said:

DHS is asking sanctuary politicians in Prince William County, Virginia to not release this pedophile from jail and cooperate with ICE law enforcement. Due to the reckless policies of Governor Abigail Spanberger and her fellow sanctuary politicians, Virginia has become a magnet for criminal illegal aliens who know that they’ll be protected in this state. How many more innocent victims have to be hurt by illegal aliens before Governor Spanberger cooperates with ICE law enforcement? [Emphasis added]

Saenz-Argueta illegally crossed the United States-Mexico border as an unknown got-away before returning to his native El Salvador in 2022. At a later date, unknown to officials, Saenz-Argueta illegally crossed the border again.”

  30. EXCERPT: “Christians living in a wealthy part of Florida’s conservative Panhandle secretly distrust their new neighbor, actor Russell Brand, who they believe is staging his religious conversion, according to sources who spoke to the Daily Mail.

Russell Brand moved to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, where he is often welcomed by selfie-seeking locals and church crowds intrigued by the British celebrity having become a born-again Christian — but privately, the vibe is not all that it seems, a source told Daily Mail.

“Most people down here are fairly publicly okay with him, just because everybody wants him to come where they are for the publicity,” Josh Parish, a Christian realtor and longtime resident of the affluent Florida community told the outlet. “In private conversation, they probably have a lot more pushback,” he added.

Parish further surmised that the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star is relying heavily on his celebrity status, evangelical talking points, and publicly disseminating emotional confessions in order to charm conservative Christians who would otherwise be appalled by his past.

“It’s a show. He’s a charlatan, a snake-oil salesman. You can see the tactics he’s utilizing,” Parish said of Brand to the Daily Mail.

Some locals of Santa Rosa Beach — also known as “the Hamptons of the South” — have reportedly embraced Brand, whom they find to be charismatic, energetic, and warm in person. But many longtime residents find it difficult to square the actor’s fervent public sermons with his earlier reputation as one of Britain’s most infamous celebrities, known for his overt sexual exploits, Parish said…..”
