Let’s face it, the turkey is the STAR of the Thanksgiving holiday! That being said, it’s not important to include the turkey in EVERY facet of the day, right?  I’m not even sure that IS a turkey in the photo above—looks like the Loch Ness Monster to me. 

In my house, we never did much with appetizers on Thanksgiving—the meal was THE focus—and eating before that seemed sacrilege.  However, if you want to present your guests with something to do – why are they not pitching in and helping is my question— here are some lovely centerpieces to showcase your talents and occupy their time–seriously, there’s always a need for someone to wash dishes.  Your guests will nosh, laugh at times, and be full by dinner. Que sera sera.

    2. Morning, Pat! Pay day, therefore errand day for me. Stock up time! I’ve got a ham on my list today — a spiral-sliced honey ham — I’ll have ham in my freezer for months! Yeah!!! And bean soup, of course, since last years’ is gone now. I also need to make another batch of beef stew but I take all the potatoes out before I freeze it, then cook fresh potatoes when I want to heat some up. Can’t stand me no gritty spuds!!!!

    This is leftwing stuff as they start moving in to get ready to attack DeSantis. This has no effect on me one way or the other as I don’t care about the Gitmo stuff (forced feeding and alleged torture)…nor do I automatically believe ex prisoners. But the left placed attorneys in there over human rights issues. I have no idea what they would say (nor do I care about their insane bias).

    However, it gives you an idea of one of the directions the left will take….

    That DeSantis was part of the Gitmo torture and committed war crimes.

    1. Frankly, it wouldn’t surprise me and to be equally frank? I really don’t GAS! I never had a problem with water-boarding….if our troops can handle it during training, and they do, I have no issue with DeS on this front. The fact is, Islamists will, and do, commit FAR worse torture than we could ever dream of!!! Is there a fine line that shouldn’t be crossed? Of course! Gratuitous torture is never justified. However, this fact will never change – Islamists do NOT value life, they value death above all things, just like the Fakestinians. There is no equal ground there.

      Then again…..we shouldn’t have been in their country in the first place!!!!

        again, I do not mean to say he is a bad governor…but a good governor does not mean he’d be a good president. he’s got tail winds behind him in FLA…he won’t have that in DC…

      Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do! It is unprecedented to be handing over Tax Returns, & it creates terrible precedent for future Presidents. Has Joe Biden paid taxes on all of the money he made illegally from Hunter & beyond. The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price. They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!

    Both House Speaker Paul Renner (R-Palm Coast) and Senate President Kathleen Passidomo (R-Naples), both of whom were sworn into their new posts on Tuesday, agreed it would be a “good idea” to make it clear that DeSantis would not have to resign if he wound up becoming the GOP nominee.

    DeSantis was reelected to a second four-year term earlier this month after he defeated his Democratic rival by roughly 20 points.

    “If an individual who is Florida governor is running for president, I think he should be allowed to do it,” Passidomo told reporters. “I really do. That’s a big honor and a privilege, so it is a good idea.”

    While DeSantis has not yet said he will definitely run in 2024, he has emerged as a top potential contender for the job. Some are pressing him to run even though former President Donald Trump has already announced his third bid for the White House. Recent polls have shown support for DeSantis is rising among Republican voters.

    Florida law requires anyone running for a new office to put in an irrevocable letter of resignation ahead of qualifying if the terms of the two offices overlap. The law was changed in 2008 to open the door for then-Gov. Charlie Crist to seek the vice presidency, but legislators reversed course four years ago and put back in a place a requirement that someone seeking federal office would have to resign ahead of the actual election.

    Police have identified a suspect in the quadruple homicide at a marijuana farm in Oklahoma this weekend, but won’t release their identity as doing so could potentially put others in danger.

    The Kingfisher County Sheriff’s office received a call on Sunday night about a possible hostage situation at the farm, but deputies arrived there to find four people dead and one injured, according to the Associated Press.

    Authorities said on Tuesday that three men and one woman were “executed” on the ten-acre property west of Hennessey, while a fifth victim was found wounded and taken to a local hospital.

    A suspect has been identified, but the name is being withheld for the time to avoid endangering others.

    “The suspect was inside that building for a significant amount of time before the executions began,” the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) said in a Tuesday news release. “Based on the investigation thus far, this does not appear to be a random incident.”

    It is believed that the suspect knew the victims, though it is unclear exactly how.

    “They all know each other,” OSBI Capt. Stan Florence said on Monday. “We don’t know if they’re related, or if they’re coworkers, but certainly these individuals were, we believe, all familiar with each other.”

    The victims have not yet been identified, and a “significant language barrier” is making next-of-kin notification difficult, police said.

    The case is also being investigated by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, as it is possible that drug trafficking or black market dealing could have contributed to the incident, though Mark Woodward, a spokesman for the agency, said it was too soon to say.

    “It being a marijuana farm, obviously Oklahoma state law requires that they have a license from the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority and from us,” Woodward said. “One of the things we’re looking at is, is it obtained legally or was it obtained by fraud? So that’ll be part of our investigation.

    Medical marijuana was legalized in Oklahoma in 2018. Voters in the Sooner State will get to decide in March whether to legalize marijuana for recreational use as well, which would bring the total number states that allow recreational use to 22.

The reality is, the economic decline due to the lockdowns, manufactured supply chain disruptions, putting thousands of companies out of business, intentional inflation, and health conditions exploited during and after the orchestrated plandemic is what has created a loss of income, inability to afford food and gas, and complete disruption in everyone’s well being.

    On November 16, the FDA completed its pre-market consultation for Upside Foods animal cell culture technology to produce chicken from cultured chicken cells.     One year, I made a Turkey bean bag toss game – painting turkeys over the holes in a piece of plywood with score numbers over the birds. The kids loved it.

      I am not a “perfect” hostess…if one thing goes wrong, I am not thrown into a tizzy. I think some try to make sure every little detail is perfect…I concentrate on the big things and making sure everyone has fun…that what’s get remembered imo.

    The President(!) has plenary power concerning classification and declassification – derived from Article 2 itself. (Navy v. Eagan, SCOTUS). Upon leaving office, he retains the highest level of security clearance and is entitled to receive national security briefings every day. Everything that a President does in his office, everything that he produces, every transcript, is by default “Top Secret.” Because of who he is.

    Every President, upon leaving office, took sometimes very-considerable amounts of classified material with them, and sometimes put it in strange places: a warehouse, a storage room beside a little restaurant, in the garage. They decided what to contribute back to the National Archives. All of this is perfectly legal.

    What was illegal was for FBI Agents, who did not have appropriate security clearances, to take these materials out of the secure facility (Mar a Lago), then pore through them and leak some of their contents to the Press. One of the fundamental justifications for a “Special Master” is to preserve the secrecy of these materials – which in this case has been utterly and illegally trashed.

    The DOJ has no legal case here. It is they who broke the law, not the former President.

    The citizens’ income is an initiative first introduced by the left-wing Five Star Movement and sees over 3.5 million Italians receive a payment of €780 per month. Receipt of the benefit is widely skewed toward the poorer south of the country where 2.3 million of the recipients reside.

    As Meloni announced her first budget on Tuesday, she claimed it was wrong “to put people who can work on the same level as those that can’t. “Faithful to our principles, we’ll keep helping those who can’t work. For the others it will be abolished,” she added.

    That explains the news out there that House Democrats are planning a mass amnesty for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, illegal aliens who are minors under Obama-era protection from deportation, brought in by their parents or the human smugglers they paid, if not here on their own.

    Democrats and immigration activists are looking to get some form of amnesty for illegal immigrants through Congress in the lame duck session before they lose the House of Representatives to Republicans at the beginning of 2023.

    Senators and activists held a press conference Wednesday calling for Republicans in the chamber to work with Democrats to pass a version of the DREAM Act, which would grant a path to citizenship for recipients (and those otherwise eligible) of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

    That program, established by President Barack Obama in 2012, granted protection from deportation for millions of illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children. The program was recently dealt a blow when an appeals court upheld a 2021 ruling that prevented further enrollments, which was found to be illegal.

    While it does not affect the approximately 700,000 already enrolled, the ruling fueled new pushes for a permanent “fix.” However, the DREAM Act would go beyond that 700,000 with advocates estimating it could give a pathway to citizenship for approximately two million.

    According to an email from the Center for Immigration Studies (not up on their website at this point), that’s problematic, because there are a lot of criminals in that 700,000 alone:

    Washington, D.C. (November 22, 2022) – A new Center for Immigration Studies report details how our immigration laws handle criminal alien minors who are dealt with, not in adult criminal court, but in the juvenile justice system. This is especially relevant now, as the media is reporting that House Democrats will bring up a bill to grant permanent residence to beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in the lame duck session of Congress.

    The CIS report documents that:

    Juveniles commit a large number of serious offenses. For instance, in 2020, there were 1,353 known juvenile homicide offenders and, in 2019, juveniles constituted 8 percent of all arrests for murder.
    Juvenile perpetrators are much more likely to be processed through a juvenile justice system than a criminal court.
    However, our immigration laws do not subject to removal alien minors “adjudicated” delinquent in juvenile courts, as our laws do for aliens convicted in criminal court, even for offenses up to and including murder.

    One of the prime selling points for DACA and DREAM Act legislation has been that beneficiaries are not criminals and don’t pose a risk to public safety. But is this true? The DACA program has never disqualified aliens adjudicated delinquent in juvenile court, and as a result many DACA recipients were affiliated with gangs and many had arrest records. USCIS has admitted that “we let those with criminal arrests for sexually assaulting a minor, kidnapping, human trafficking, child pornography, or even murder be provided [DACA] protection”.

    So amnesty is set to go out to even killers of Americans.

    Sound like a sound choice in choosing whom to allow in to the U.S.? Only to the congressional Democrats who are backing this proposed new law. While foreign doctors, nurses, engineers and entrepreneurs pay thousands in legal costs and patiently wait in line for years for their number to get called in order to immigrate here legally, bottom-of-the-barrel gang members are being handed instant amnesty and a path to U.S. citizenship through this hideous new DACA amnesty measure.

    Sound fair to legal immigrants? It’s not fair, and it’s not in the least bit fair to Americans here, either, as it effectively imports Latin America’s hellhole crime problem into the U.S. and makes Americans the victims.

    Is anyone calculating the potential prison costs this amnesty will bring with it? Probably not. But such costs will run in the millions and that’s if the crimes get solved, which most won’t, given that they’ll be acts of vandalism, car break-ins, smash and grab robberies, drug dealing, and muggings.

Failure to comply results in slashed reimbursement rates that run as high as 6%. Yet the additional administrative burden of participating in these programs falls hardest on small private practices, which, perversely, are also subject to the stiffest penalties.

      This obviously incentivizes private practice doctors to accept buyout offers from much larger entities. So does the steady growth of red tape under the law. At my practice, I have seen the costs and time requirement associated with regulatory compliance climb significantly since the law went into effect.

      The Affordable Care Act also pushes doctors to merge into so-called “Accountable Care Organizations.” These entities receive financial bonuses for doing the same work done in private practices. Doctors, acting rationally, want to capture these bonuses and thus abandon their traditional business models. Sure enough, since 2011, physicians have flocked to ACOs, with the creation of 744 such groups serving more than 20 million Americans as of the end of last year.”
