Ancient Roman Villa Discovered Near Pompeii

Rome is a place where many archaeological treasures and remains continue to be found. The latest discovery is a luxury villa with many remarkable artifacts and spectacular mosaics. This luxury Roman villa is providing us with new insights into how the elite in Rome lived up to 2000 years ago.

The villa — dubbed ‘Domus Aventino’ — is located at the foot of the Aventine Hill. A region of the city occupied by the regular citizenry (or ‘plebeians’) during the Roman republic, the area became home to the wealthy patricians in the time of the empire, when the villa would have been built. It was located close to the Circus Maximus, as well as a port on the River Tiber

From the discoveries made at this site, we can certainly say that the Roman elite lived in opulence. The domus was found at the foot of the famous Aventine Hill in central Rome in 2015. Originally, this hill was inhabited by poor people, but by the reign of Agustus was where the Roman elite, including senators, made their home, and it’s “not far from the Circus Maximus,” reports Wanted in Rome.

Ancient Luxury Roman Villa Found In The Heart of Modern Rome

The Roman luxury villa was uncovered, completely by chance, during the earthquake proofing of a 1950s building in central Rome. Archaeologists found a large villa that had been occupied for several generations at the foot of a modern condominium. Their work continued even while a new 180-apartment development rose-up around the archaeological site.

Forbes reports that “The dig revealed six different strata of historical remains, ranging from 8th century BC to 3rd century AD.” This time period stretches from the birth of Rome to the peak of Imperial Roman Power. Among the most important finds were the remains of an 8th century BC stone tower. The Daily Mail reports that “Excavations also revealed a defensive wall from the time of the Roman republic (509–27 BC).” These findings are helping researchers to better understand the topography of Rome in ancient times.

Ancient Roman Villa: A Lavish Home Full Of Treasures

The ancient Roman villa, which would have been known as a domus, was once a sumptuous residence that included many artifacts and wonderful mosaics in its series of rooms. Based on this evidence, “archaeologists believe that the domus belonged to a ‘person of power’,” reports Wanted in Rome. The owners may have been members of the senatorial order because the villa was so luxurious. Daniela Porro, an archaeologist and official who works for the Italian capital, told Forbes that the family who lived here were “probably linked to the imperial family.”

Rome: An Archaeological Jewel At Every Level

Since its discovery in 2015, the archaeologists have unearthed a treasure trove of artifacts in this Roman luxury villa. Among the finds were a hammer, lamps, needles, hairpins, and lacquered bowls decorated with figures from Greek mythology. Also found was a vessel that contained garum fish sauce, which was a delicacy extremely popular with the Roman elite. These finds show that the Roman elite had a very high standard of living.

Though the remains of some great frescoes were also found in the villa, its mosaics are considered to be especially spectacular. The mosaic sections were laid down over a period of two hundred years, beginning in first century AD. The Daily Telegraph quoted Mr. Porro as saying that “Rome never ceases to surprise us. It’s an archaeological jewel.”

Spectacular Mosaics In The Luxury Villa Tell Us A Lot

The mosaics unearthed in the Roman luxury villa were made in the style known as “black and white” because they are almost entirely made from black and white stone cubes. They consist of thousands of tiny cube-shaped stones that are known as tesserae. Black and white mosaics were popular from the 1st century AD onward and have been found all over Italy and beyond. One of the villa’s black and white mosaics has a small section depicting a colorful green parrot. Another one shows a grapevine growing out of a pot.

One of the surface artworks found in the villa was very unusual. It consisted of a series of figure of eight patterns. Robert Narducci, who took part in the villa excavation process is quoted by the Daily Mail as stating that “We’ve not seen it before,” in reference to the figure of eight pattern. At least one of the black and white mosaics contains a Latin inscription. These mosaics would not have been laid down solely for decorative purposes: they were intended to express the splendor and power of the owner of the villa and his family to the wider community.

The Ancient Roman Luxury Villa Is Now An Underground Museum

The elite Roman luxury villa and its artworks have recently been turned into a subterranean museum. To reach the museum, visitors have to enter the newly built apartment complex and go down a staircase. Anselmo De Titta, a senior director with the company that owns the new apartment building told the Daily Mail that “It’s quite a challenge to allow access to the site while protecting the privacy of the condominium’s residents.”

Entrance to Villa

Video projections have been added to the museum’s attractions to enhance the experience. “The walls of the space now enclosing the villa are illuminated with video projections of a Roman senator and his wife walking amid marble busts and ornate furnishings,” according to the Daily Mail. Initially, the villa and its mosaics will be opened two days a month, but if they prove popular, the opening hours will be extended.

  1. Morning All!
    wonderful open Filly!
    I LOVE mosaics!
we had to make one for our Latin class in college–any medium we wanted for the “pieces”. I used candy–caramels, starbursts, taffy…anything pliable. I depicted Jesus with the word Gaude (iirc) which meant Rejoice in Latin…

        1. Great! I put in about 10 minutes this morning before getting ready for work. I used to ache in my hips and knees a lot when sleeping. We got a new beauty rest bed last year and it helped some. Since I got the inversion table though, it has helped a ton! I needed the joint decompression.

we have a sleep number bed…his side is much more firm than mine is…and the “snore” setting allows us to raise the head of the bed slightly so neither of us snore

NEW YORK — They’ve both been in office for nearly 30 years. They both chair powerful House committees. They both have wealthy, active voter bases flanking Central Park.

Now Jerry Nadler and Carolyn Maloney are set to face off in a cross-Manhattan clash of the titans, thrust into the same district by a court-ordered redistricting plan.

EXCERPT: “The 2022 Pennsylvania Primary has exposed the utter delusion of Republicans who thought the stolen 2020 election could be safely ignored. Once Trump was off the ballot — they told us — all of these “election abnormalities” would disappear. Our normal election system would “return to normal.” I heard this countless times in 2020 and 2021 from educated people who turned out to be complete fools.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The 2020 election was simply the most obvious example of how brazenly fraudulent our election process had become — and since no meaningful reforms have been enacted, the same cheating is happening again. This time, the mail ballot vendor printed the wrong ID code on 22,000 ballots — if you can believe it.

The thing is: I can believe it. They’re not even trying to hide the corruption anymore. Let’s repeat the worst four words in the English language for liberals: President Trump was right.

But let’s begin at the beginning of this farce — with the polling.

The Trafalgar Group has been the only polling firm (other than Rasmussen) to make accurate calls the last few years. Trafalgar released the following poll just before the primary.

To summarize: Kathy Barnette and Dr. Oz were in a dead heat, and the GOP establishment choice Dave McCormick was third. That’s how the race looked not just to Trafalgar but to every other pollster as well: McCormick was a distant third.

On the day of the primary, Kathy Barnette supposedly runs a distant third — though four polls showed her tied for the lead with Oz! —while Dave McCormick runs neck and neck with Dr. Oz. Here’s the problem with that scenario: I was unable to locate anyone living in Pennsylvania who was voting for Dave McCormick. All the talk in conservative media, and conservative radio, was Kathy Barnette surging against Dr. Oz.

Nobody had Dave McCormick pulling out a victory — probably because it never happened. Instead, the electronic voting machines in Pennsylvania did their thing for the uniparty in Washington. Like I said: they’re not even trying to hide it now. The GOP establishment didn’t want Kathy Barnette or Dr. Oz as the GOP candidate because those two would answer to President Trump and not to Mitch McConnell.

So they flipped the switch again.

And that’s how we ended up with the 2022 Pennsylvania Primary repeating the 2020 Presidential election.

Let’s review the basics of election theft. When you steal a primary, certain things have to happen in a certain order — and that’s one of the giveaways. For example, mail-in ballots have to be counted at the very end of the process because you don’t know how many ballots you will need to win until the very end. If your state counted those ballots first, for example, it would be much harder to cheat — and that’s why our two political parties insist that states don’t do it!

Look at Pennsylvania right now: Dave McCormick is suing to force undated mail-in ballots to be counted. Why do they have no dates? How could they have no dates? They’re obviously fraudulent ballots — and they’ve suddenly appeared out of nowhere because Dave McCormick needs them.”

    1. Rest of article: “Notice too that the entire electoral process has to be slowed down in order to accomplish the cheating. Pennsylvania’s primary race was on May 17th. It’s May 23rd and they still can’t count a few thousand ballots because — well, you know — they’re cheating.

It’s so blatant that even the Pennsylvania GOP wants nothing to do with it.

As I said, there’s a particular order to a bogus election. For example, there’s always one candidate who demands that all ballots be counted — and that’s the candidate to watch because he seems to know that mail-in ballots will break heavily for him for some strange and never-explained reason.

For example: Dr. Oz was leading by a few thousand votes on Primary Day, but Dave McCormick’s people are oddly confident that undated mail-in ballots will overcome Oz’s lead.

      That’s too clever by half.

Substitute the name “Joe Biden” for “Dave McCormick” and you’ve seen this movie before — in November 2020. You’re not dreaming. You know how it ends. You’re just watching another rigged election.

You’re just watching your nation turn into a banana republic.”

  5. Entire Article @ InfoWars: “A Bluetooth-operated molecular Covid-19 test called Cue is being promoted by companies like Google, the NBA, Netflix and others to get people accustomed to constantly checking themselves for viruses and sending their health data directly to the government.

In a February advertisement for the device, a young boy tests for Covid after learning his friend had tested positive. When the boy’s mother turns on the Cue device, other “smart devices” in the home begin talking to the new gadget. In the end, the new technology sends a text to the child informing him he tested negative. The Cue website advertises the devices as “Reliable, easy-to-use COVID-19 tests with PCR-quality results delivered right to your mobile device in 20 minutes. No lab visits. No lines. No second guessing your results.”

However, what many people may not be aware of or care about is that the tech is sending their personal health data to the CDC, other federal agencies and state agencies. A “Fact Sheet For Healthcare Professionals” accompanying the device states, “The Cue Health Mobile Application (Cue Health App) automatically reports test results according to the reporting guidelines of the appropriate public health authorities.”

The Cue Health App Privacy Policy says the company may share your personal information “To report to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or other federal agency and/or state government agencies as required for public health surveillance and related purposes.” A section of the company’s website brags the “NBA, Google, Mayo Clinic, NASA, Johnson & Johnson, and the U.S. Departments of Health & Human Services and Defense” use its product.

Just last month, a researcher discovered a security vulnerability for the Cue Covid test kit after proving the results could be altered. A security consultant named Ken Gannon intercepted the data before it was sent to the mobile phone of the user and successfully changed the test result from false to positive or vice versa.

The issue has allegedly been fixed since Gannon exposed the flaw, but it highlights an important issue with moving towards a fully digital health data platform. With the elite planning to release more pandemics in the future, virus-detecting technology like the Cue Health App will be heavily promoted by the corporations and governments that desire more control over every aspect of your life.”

  6. “Who is Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus?

    – Ethiopia’s former Minister of Health and Minister of Foreign Affairs

    – Was elected Director-General of the World Health Organization in 2017

    – Nominated Robert Mugabe, the Marxist former president of Zimbabwe, to serve as a WHO Goodwill Ambassador in 2017

    – Purposely covered up three separate outbreaks of cholera in Ethiopia, so as to avoid the impact that a public admission of a cholera epidemic might have on tourism and on his party’s public image

    – Was alleged to have helped facilitate a systematic genocide targeting the Amhara people of Ethiopia

    – Was accused of complicity in the commission of “crimes against humanity”

    – Served as a propagandist on behalf of Beijing in a massive coverup of China’s role in unleashing the deadly worldwide coronavirus pandemic in 2019-20.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was born on March 3, 1965 in the city of Asmara, which at that time was in Ethiopia but is now the capital of neighboring Eritrea. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Asmara in 1986, a Master of Science degree in Immunology of Infectious Diseases from the University of London in 1992, and a PhD in Community Health from the University of Nottingham in 2000.

After graduating from college in 1986, Tedros joined the Ethiopian government’s Ministry of Health as a junior public health expert. Following the fall of Mengistu Haile Mariam, the tyrant who ruled Ethiopia from 1977-91, Tedros moved to London to attend graduate school. He then returned to Ethiopia and in 2001 was appointed head of the Tigray Regional Health Bureau. Two years later, he was named a State Minister of Health.”

  7. EXCERPT: “CHICAGO, IL- As gun violence continues to sky rocket in Chicago, authorities reported that over the weekend of May 20-May 22, one person was killed and nearly 23 others were wounded in shootings across the city.

Instead of being proactive in fighting gun violence, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is using tax dollars to fund the funerals of those who have become victims of this violent crime. According to the latest news: “The Mychal Moultry Jr. Funeral and Burial Assistance Act was signed into law Tuesday. It provides up to $10,000 in burial funds for families who lose children under 17 to gun violence.”

Moultry Jr. was just four years old when he was killed while getting his hair braided inside an apartment in Woodlawn. On Wednesday, May 18th, Pritzker signed a new state law that bans “ghost guns,” making it the first state in the midwest to block the sale, possession, transfer, and manufacture of ghost guns. Ghost guns are untraceable, unregistered, and require no background checks to buy. The legislation was spearheaded by State Sen. Jacqueline Collins and State Rep. Kambium Buckner. Collins said in a statement:

“Firearm violence is a leading cause of death for children and teenagers in Illinois and among black Illinoisans, the rate is disproportionately high.”
    ————————
Even with the passing of the legislation, without increasing police presence or moving the National Guard in to help, Chicago seems to be taking a “compassionate” route of making it cheaper for parents to bury their children.

The governor thinks he is being proactive, but in reality the money being earmarked for funerals of young children could be utilized in ways to make the streets safer so that kids are not victims of gun violence in the first place.”

she’s running for congress! she’s demanding $30/hr minimum wage–free college–all the rest of leftist BS–but also she says erboy should just OCCUPY any property they want–take it over–an she’s made a lot of mistakes…
    entire article
A Democrat candidate for congress is calling for mass lawlessness to send a message to the “corporate elite.”

Far-left activist Rebecca Parson’s campaign calls for a federal minimum wage of $30 an hour, calling it the “bare minimum” to afford basics like housing, healthcare, and food. Until that becomes reality, Parson is asking Americans to illegally occupy the vacant private property of their choosing. She says this will end homelessness.

This isn’t a new strategy for Parson. Organizations she works with or endorses have used homeless people — human props to pursue her ideological agenda — to break the law and occupy hotel rooms they haven’t paid for or even abandoned buildings that were deemed unsafe for visitors.

‘No one has ever done anything like this’

The digital campaign ad features an angry Parson, living in her car, taking matters into her own hands with a pair of bolt cutters as she destroys a fence and moves into an abandoned home.

“We’re on the edge of collapse. The corporate elite tell us not to worry. But what has doing what they told us ever gotten us? I did what they told me. I went to college, I got a master’s degree, I ended up living in my car,” Parson declares to a soundtrack of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name Of.”

Parson reportedly moved to Tacoma in 2015, when the average one-bedroom rent was only $950 a month. Still, despite her master’s degree in poetry (which, despite her ad’s claims, “corporate elite” doesn’t generally recommend as a good investment) from Johns Hopkins University, she apparently struggled to find housing.

She says in the ad that she “did what she was supposed to” in order to fight for change, including attend protests, write letters, and make phone calls. But she didn’t get anywhere.

    “F*** that!” Parson declares.

The candidate then grabs a pair of bolt cutters she randomly sleeps with in her car, cuts through a fence around a bank foreclosed home, then occupies the home.

“Imagine that I propose a housing for all bill in Congress,” Parson says. “Then imagine you, me, and a million of our friends took action and occupied empty houses nationwide. They couldn’t ignore us. No one has ever done anything like this. That’s why it’s going to work. Are you ready?”

She’s been ready for a while, though. Parson has engaged in this tactic in the past while claiming to help the homeless.

$30 is the bare minimum in every county in the US for an adult with a kid to afford housing, food, healthcare, basic necessities. No vacations, no eating out. Those are the facts and no amount of praying to Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman will change that.

    pic.twitter.com/RYIZVMBzg4

    — Rebecca Parson for Congress, WA-06 (@RebeccaforWA) May 20, 2022

    Parson’s dangerous history

WA-06, which includes Tacoma, Port Angeles, and Bremerton, has already experienced Parson’s occupy strategy in action.

A group of homeless people took over a Travelodge motel in Fife for several days in late 2020 and early 2021 thanks to Tacoma Housing Now, which Parson served as a spokesperson. At the time, Parson called the threats of arrest against the people illegally occupying 18 rooms as “Orwellian.” The owner of the motel said it caused the business significant financial loses while already struggling during COVID.

“I’m just devastated,” motel manager Shawn Randhawa told The Tacoma News Tribune. “Because of the protest, I have nothing else. I was barely getting through this pandemic, and now this.”

Weeks earlier, Tacoma Housing Now broke into Gault Middle School in Tacoma. They declared that they “took” it for emergency housing for the homeless.

“Our primary demand is for the school district and the city of Tacoma to work together to put this building into a community land trust,” Parson said at the time.

But Parson helped put the lives of the homeless in danger. The dilapidated building was declared uninhabitable — filled with mold and asbestos requiring hazmat suits for anyone who enters.
Mass lawlessness is at least on brand for Democrats

The strategy of mass lawlessness is, at least, a brand that makes sense for Democrats who defend open borders, open-air drug use, and light-to-no punishment for felons. They justify riots as “mostly peaceful protests” because, to them, the ends justify the means.

And her tactics are as extreme as her positions.

Parson is calling for nationwide universal rent control, “community-controlled” housing, and a “declaration of housing as a human right.” While she recommends you trespass and steal homes, Parson also wants to end “often-racist and always-exclusionary single-family zoning.” So, make sure you don’t steal a home a single-family zone, activists.
A poet’s take on the economy

The candidate also demands “at least” $2,000 a month in “direct cash payments to poor and low-income Americans” as part of a universal basic income scheme. Plus, she would mandate the government provide a job to all who wants one, along with free public college and trades school. She does not explain how she’d pay for this.

Parson would have been better off getting a master’s degree in economics rather than poetry.

If her $30 an hour federal minimum wage was implemented, it would lead to mass layoffs and businesses going under. That she thinks a locally owned coffee shop in Forks or corner store on Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood can bear this cost, is remarkable. Perhaps it explains why so few of her donors live in her district.

  10. More electoral manipulation by Club for Growth, I see!!!

Entire Article @ JustTheNews: “Alabama GOP Rep. Mo Brooks has made the state’s GOP Senate primary a three-person race going into Tuesday, climbing back in the polls after President Trump rescinded his endorsement in March.

The six-term congressman entered the primary last year as presumptive frontrunner with all the right credentials — chiefly being a reliable vote for the House’s most conservative wing, then getting the Trump endorsement in April 2021 in a state that hasn’t picked a Democrat for president since 1976.

That all went sideways in March when Brooks — among the most outspoken about the 2020 election being stolen from Trump — told voters for the second time on the campaign trail that they must now look to the 2022 and 2024 elections. Trump promptly pulled his endorsement, with Brooks already sagging in the polls and fundraising. “Put that behind you, put that behind you,” said Trump in announcing the decision, mimicking Brooks on the stump.

Two months later, polls show Brooks has made a stretch run and is now within single digits of leader Katie Britt, a former CEO of the Alabama Business Council and chief of staff for GOP Sen. Richard Shelby, whose retirement has opened the Senate seat. That’s compared to late March when Emerson College Polling had him in last place, with less than 11% of the vote and trailing Britt by about 21 points.

The polls also also show candidate Michael Durant having led by as many as 10 points in late March but now in third place. Durant served in the Army for 22 years before starting an engineering firm. He was the helicopter pilot shot down in Somalia in 1993, which was depicted in the book and movie “Black Hawk Down.” He also has the endorsement of former Trump White House National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn.

“He is back from the dead,” former Trump strategist Steve Bannon recently said about Brooks on his “War Room” show on Real America’s Voice live-stream TV network. “It’s a great comeback he’s had, but a big part of that is Durant’s collapse.”

Much of that comeback is being attributed to Brooks saying he’s still the most pro-Trump candidate in the field and the continued support of the conservative, anti-tax group Club for Growth, which has reportedly pumped over $4 million into his campaign. On Monday, the Brooks campaign held events with GOP Sens. Rand Paul of (Ky.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The Democrat candidates are Will Boyd, Brandaun Dean and Lanny Jackson, with two independents also competing.

A candidate needs a majority of votes to win the primary outright. Where no candidate reaches that threshold, the top two finishers go to a runoff on June 21.”

Entire Article @ Newsmax: “Former Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway in her new memoir takes aim at husband, George, and his “sneaky, almost sinister” attacks aimed at her then-boss, former President Donald Trump, writing that in posting things critical of the president, George “clearly … was cheating by tweeting” and violated their marriage vows.

In her new memoir, “Here’s the Deal,” Kellyanne Conway revealed that Trump backed her more than her own husband. “I had two men in my life. One was my husband. One was my boss, who happened to be president of the United States. One of those men was defending me. And it wasn’t George Conway. It was Donald Trump,” she wrote.

George Conway publicly feuded with Trump during his wife’s tenure as the ex-president’s top aide – Kellyanne resigned in 2020, saying she needed to spend more time with her family – at one point suggesting the president was not mentally fit to serve, calling him someone with a “narcissistic personality disorder and malignant narcissism.”

Kellyanne Conway says she tried to separate her home and work life. “On one side was my marriage and my husband. On the other was my job and my boss,” Kellyanne wrote. “George was mixing the two of them in a highly combustible manner. I was able to keep these things separate and in perspective. George should have, too, but it seemed the flood of reaction and attention he was receiving was magnetic and irresistible.”

George, she said, disappointed her by “skipping the kinds of confidential, civil conversations spouses typically have when one has a change of heart or both agree to disagree about something big.”

“Like everything George did during this time,” Conway continues, “I found out about it after it happened or as it was happening. It was sneaky, almost sinister. Why not own it, share it, sneer in my face with a copy of tomorrow’s Washington Post op-ed or next week’s Lincoln Project ad?”

    1. Sorry, Pat!

“An image of an elephant walking alongside a lion, carrying a lion cub tucked under its trunk is digitally altered, and was created as an April Fool’s joke. Dozens of social media users have shared the altered image, claiming that was “considered the best photo of this century” (here). Other examples are viewable (here), (here), and (here).

Although some were aware the image was digitally altered, others believed it to be authentic. The image is not authentic, however, and was first shared by Kruger Sightings, a platform that shares videos and photographs of animals in Kruger National Park, South Africa (www.latestsightings.com/).

Kruger Sightings shared the image on its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts on April 1, 2018 (here), (here), (here). The original post was also signed ‘Sloof Lirpa,’ which is ‘April Fools’ spelled backwards.

The CEO of Kruger Sightings, Nadav Ossendryver, tweeted at the time, confirming that the image was a spoof (here).”

  15. EXCERPT: “Fox News: John Roberts Breaks The Silence About Vaccine Injuries” Emerald Robinson, 12 min ago

“How many people trusted the vaccine misinformation spread by Fox News? One tweet shows you the number: too many. Two months ago, I helped to publicize the story (375,000 page views and counting!) that Fox News took money from the Biden regime to push COVID vaccine propaganda on their network relentlessly. Fox News (like almost all the other corporate media outlets) did not reveal this crucial fact to its audience — an astonishing breach of journalistic ethics that should never be forgiven or forgotten.

I wrote at the time that Fox News was also coercing its own employees into getting vaccinated even though the vast majority were working from home: ‘Meanwhile, Fox News executive are continuing to enforce vaccine mandates with their own employees — even though the mandates have been halted by the courts. Fox is even offering $500 to any employee, right now, who proves they got the jab.

We have just lived through the most extensive propaganda campaign in the history of the world, and it was paid for with taxpayer dollars. You paid for it. I paid for it. We will probably never know how much money was spent because, according to a source familiar with the FOIAs, the Biden Administration won’t release the amounts under their “trade secrets” exemption.

I’ve been telling people for the last two years that, when the truth comes out about the deadly COVID vaccines, it will topple the American corporate media.’

In the back of my mind, for the last eight weeks, I kept wondering when the reckoning would come for Fox News. How long would it take for a prominent employee to be injured by the COVID vaccines? And who would dare to publicly disclose that injury in the face of Fox News’ ongoing campaign to push Big Pharma’s diabolical shots?

And the answer is: John Roberts.

Roberts should be congratulated for his courage. He’s gambling with his network contract. What’s even more incredible is that over 4,000 people who follow the ex-White House correspondent actually commented on his post — and that’s about 3,950 more than usual.

It’s hard to overstate the sheer scale of the tragedy contained in these comments.

Read the comments again. The vaccine death-wave has already started. The insurance companies are already warning about the rise in mortality rates. The DOJ is already hiring extra lawyers to handle the deluge of vaccine injury cases. The DoD has already been caught hiding massive increases in injuries among our military service members.

      Brace yourselves for impact.”

  17. Old Navy reconfigured their sales floor and tried to make it more inclusive–meaning instead of having sizes 0-14 as most stores do–they went to XXS-XXXL…leaving many customers not able to find clothing that fit. the popular sizes sold out and sales fell.
    FTA
Most retailers sell clothes in sizes that range from 0 to 14. Adding additional sizes comes with extra costs from developing new patterns to buying extra material, Ms. Amlani said.

Retailers tend to buy more of a given item in midrange sizes and fewer in very small or very large sizes. But they are often still short of the most popular sizes, while ending up with too many of the sizes that are less in demand. Offering a wider range of sizes can magnify that problem, she said.

The average American woman is a size 18 today, up from a size 14 five years ago, according to Don Howard, executive director of Alvanon, which works with brands and retailers on sizing and fit.

The mean weight for women aged 20 and over was 170.8 pounds as of 2016, according to the most recent data from the National Center for Health Statistics. That is up from 163.6 pounds in 2000.

Old Navy relied on the NCHS data when it developed its new sizing and conducted its own research. It interviewed hundreds of women about their body image, scanned the bodies of 389 women to create digital avatars and built new fit blocks for sizes 20 through 28.

  21. EXCERPT: “An accused Islamic State (ISIS) operative living in Columbus, Ohio, allegedly sought to smuggle terrorists through the United States-Mexico border in a plot to assassinate former President George W. Bush, an unsealed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) search warrant application reveals.

The documents, reviewed by Forbes, seemingly detail widespread fraud across numerous aspects of the nation’s immigration system, from asylum claims to the record-breaking porous southern border under President Joe Biden’s direction. According to the documents reviewed by Forbes, an accused ISIS operative had been plotting to carry out an assassination of Bush. The operative allegedly traveled to Dallas, Texas, to photograph and shoot video of Bush’s home and the George W. Bush Institute.

Most prominently, the operative wanted to use the nation’s porous southern border to smuggle ISIS terrorists into the U.S. interior, who would then help carry out the assassination plot, Forbes reports:

“In November 2021, the suspect revealed to the FBI insider the plot to assassinate Bush and asked the confidential source if he knew how to “obtain replica or fraudulent police and/or FBI identifications and badges” to help carry out the killing, and whether it was possible to smuggle the plotters out of the country the same way they came in after their mission was complete, according to the warrant. The alleged smuggler said he also wanted to find and assassinate a former Iraqi general who helped Americans during the war and whom he believed was living under a fictitious identity in the U.S., investigators said. [Emphasis added]

In one conversation with a confidential FBI source, the suspect said he was planning to get four Iraqi national males located in Iraq, Turkey, Egypt and Denmark into the U.S., according to the warrant. In a later conversation, he claimed that one of the four was “the secretary of an ISIS financial minister,” the FBI said. The alleged smuggler described the men as “former Baath Party members in Iraq who did not agree with the current Iraqi government and were political exiles,” the FBI said. He was planning to charge each $15,000 to be smuggled into America, the FBI said. The Baath Party was the political organization of Hussein, who was deposed in the 2003 U.S. invasion. [Emphasis added]

His plan, according to the warrant, was to get Mexican visitor visas for the ISIS operatives, using passport information he would send to the informant over WhatsApp, before getting them over the border. Meanwhile, he was communicating with a contact in Egypt over a fake Facebook profile, which carried a profile picture of two individual hands each holding a rose, designed to look romantic and “not suspicious,” according to the FBI’s account. In 2021, the FBI got a warrant to search that Facebook account, though it’s unclear what they obtained. [Emphasis added]”

    1. “The accused ISIS operative has reportedly been living in Columbus since 2020 and has an asylum application pending with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency. Further details of how the operative arrived in the U.S. were not reported by Forbes.

The operative, the documents allege, had previously bragged about smuggling two Hezbollah terrorists into the U.S. for $100,000. Likewise, the operative claimed to have helped murder American citizens in Iraq from 2003 to 2006. It is not clear whether the operative has been arrested by the FBI, according to Forbes, and no charges have been filed in the case.

The alleged assassination plot is only the latest case under Biden that illustrates severe weaknesses in the administration’s seemingly inability to properly screen, vet, and control immigration at the border and through refugee pipelines.”

  22. EXCERPT: “Republican Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) told Breitbart News that Joe Biden’s effort to amend the 2005 International Health Regulations (IHR) will give the United Nation’s World Health Organization (W.H.O.) and its director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus more power to oversee how countries handle health emergencies, including jurisdiction over the United States.
    —————–
Breitbart News also reported that the House Freedom Caucus sent President Joe Biden a letter on Monday demanding he stand against the W.H.O.’s push for a “global pandemic treaty,” which would transfer much of the authority for pandemic control from member nations to the U.N. agency.

    The letter reads in part:

‘The House Freedom Caucus urges you to halt your efforts to empower the World Health Organization (WHO) and instead either immediately resume President Trump’s withdrawal from the body or, at the very least, push serious reforms to aggressively correct the organization’s rampant corruption and ineffectual leadership.’

    Breitbart’s Katherine Hamilton detailed:

‘The caucus, which is led by Republican fighters Reps. Scott Perry (R-PA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), called out the Biden administration for proposing amendments to the W.H.O. International Health Regulations — “the set of rules governing responses by the agency and its member states to international public health emergencies” — at the 75th World Health Assembly, which began on May 22. In January, the Biden administration proposed amendments that would eliminate any requirements for W.H.O. to consult with member governments before declaring a disease outbreak.’

  23. Oh, such dependable turncoats in the GOP!!!

EXCERPT: “The Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Pennsylvania GOP oppose Republican David McCormick’s lawsuit that argues undated mail-in ballots should be counted in his Senate race, and the two groups are now planning to intervene in the suit, according to a report. The report, shared on social media by the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman, cited “GOP sources” and comes after RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel indicated her disapproval of McCormick’s ballot fight on Fox News on Sunday.

“The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled this year, and the RNC very much supports, that ballots should not be counted without a date,” McDaniel said. “I think that’s the law in Pennsylvania. I think that should be followed, and we certainly do not think that ballots without dates should be counted because how do you know when they came in?”

Politico reported on McCormick’s lawsuit, noting that knowing when a mail-in ballot with an undated envelope has arrived is a nonissue. Election officials told the outlet that “counties track when mail-in and absentee ballots are received, so they know if they have arrived on time, regardless of whether a date is written on the envelope.”

McCormick is fighting for every last valid ballot to be counted in Pennsylvania’s Republican Senate primary, which took place nearly a week ago but remains too close to call and will require a recount regardless of the result.”

but the law is clear on this. no dated envelope? the ballot does not count.
from stories i have read, they are trying to say “every ballot counts” bs so they can continue to “find” ballots till their candidate wins.

I want Barnette, of course, and I would support at least counting them to see…..how many might be for her? Mail-in ballots were most likely mailed before the wholesale pile-up on her, don’t you think? Early on, she was doing really well. That’s kind of the POV I’m coming from……

  24. Entire Article @ BB: “The United States Census Bureau undercounted five red states and overcounted six blue states in the 2020 Census, according to a report issued by the agency this month.

For years, the establishment media and left-wing think tanks went after former President Donald Trump’s administration by accusing officials of using the 2020 Census to undercount constituencies that leaned Democrat. When Trump sought to put the American citizenship question back on the Census, left-wing Brookings Institute executives accused the administration of trying “to hijack” the process and “imperil America’s future.”

The Washington Post editorial board, in March, alleged that the Trump administration “got exactly what it wanted” when the Census Bureau found that minority communities in the United States had been undercounted in the final tally. “The Trump administration might have failed in its effort to exclude undocumented immigrants from the U.S. Census. But it still managed to get exactly what it wanted: a less accurate count that diminishes minority communities in the United States,” the Post editorial board wrote.

Now, the Census Bureau has issued a report detailing how a number of states were undercounted while otherwise were overcounted. The states that were undercounted include Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas — all but one of which voted twice for Trump in the last two presidential elections.

The states that were overcounted include Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Utah — six of which are Democrat strongholds. “Achieving an accurate count for all 50 states and DC is always a difficult endeavor, and these results suggest it was difficult again in 2020, particularly given the unprecedented challenges we faced,” Census Bureau Director Robert Santos said in a statement.

The data suggests that voters who twice voted to elect Trump over Democrat candidates were more likely to be undercounted in the 2020 Census than voters who backed Democrats against Trump in the last two elections.”

Entire Article @ BB: “OAK BLUFFS, Mass. (AP) — A man who as a child had a brief but key role in “Jaws” has been named police chief on the Massachusetts island on which the 1975 movie was partially filmed. Jonathan Searle was offered the job of police chief in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard last week.

“I’m clearly elated and and I’m humbled and honored to have been offered the position,” Searle, currently a sergeant with Edgartown police, told the Vineyard Gazette, which first reported the appointment.

The movie centers on the efforts of a police chief in a fictional resort town trying to rid the local waters of a killer shark. Scenes were filmed in various locations on Martha’s Vineyard. In the movie, Searle played one of two boys who send beachgoers into a panic by swimming around with a fake shark’s fin.

Searle, whose father was police chief in Edgartown, takes over in Oak Bluffs next month.”

  26. Sorry “law enforcement expert” you’re wrong. Giving up what you own, what you’ve worked for, what you cherish because some thug thinks they’re freakin’ entitled to it is not wrong. if those thugs had weapons, it might have been different, but you have the RIGHT to fight for what’s yours. family owned jewelry store owners beat the crap out of would be thieves.
    FTA
A gang of hooded thugs picked the wrong jewelry store to rob the other day.

Surveillance video, which you can watch below, shows a gang of would-be bandits attempting a smash and grab robbery at the Prince Bride Jewelry store in Huntington Beach, California.

The four men were armed with hammers and one managed to smash a jewelry display. But that’s when the store owner and several employees sprang into action.

“This is our family business, we wanted to protect,” store co-owner Sarah Vaca told television station KABC. “We feel very strongly about like, I guess like, protecting what’s ours.”

Video shows Ms. Vaca and two employees fighting back. One staffer got into a fist fight with two of the thugs while a female worker in high heels drop-kicked another bandit.

“It was very high energy a lot of adrenaline,” she aid. “I’ve never been in a fight before in my life, so that was crazy.”

Ms. Vaca can be seen grabbing a stool that she used to knock one of the criminals in the head.

It was a sight to behold.

“I was just looking for something heavy that I could use to help (them) the best I could with, and something that could deter them from continuing to fight us further,” Vaca said. “My brother ended up intercepting one of them, and actually clocked one of them in the face.”

At least one law enforcement expert criticized the store owners for taking matters into their own hands.

“No one in that store’s life is worth any diamond or watch or piece of jewelry,” Bruce Thomas told the television station. “They were very fortunate the criminals did not have any weapons, beyond what they used to smash that display case. If there was a gun involved, this could have turned out very, very differently.”

Well, had the store owners been armed I have no doubt the incident would have turned out very differently.
