Idaho State Tree

Official State Tree of Idaho

The majestic western white pine (Pinus Monticola pinaceae) was designated the official state tree of Idaho in 1935. The largest and best western white pine forests can be found in northern Idaho in the Coeur d’Alene and Bitterroot Mountains (the tree is often called the soft Idaho white pine or just the Idaho white pine).

Western White Pine Facts

The western white pine tree grows in the mountains of the western United States and Canada (in the Sierra Nevada, the Cascade Range, the Coast Range, and the northern Rocky Mountains), extending down to sea level in many areas. Western white pine wood is soft, straight-grained, and evenly textured (used to make everything from houses to wooden matches).

Western white pine is a large tree, growing 30-50 meters (and sometimes up to 70 meters) tall. It is related to eastern white pine (Pinus strobus), but western white pine cones are larger, and it also has slightly longer-lasting leaves (needles) than the eastern white pine.

The western white pine is widely grown as an ornamental tree, but has been heavily logged throughout much of its range and has also been seriously affected by white pine blister rust (a fungus that was introduced from Europe in 1909). The U.S. Forest Service has a program for locating and breeding rust-resistant western white pine and sugar pine (seedlings of these trees have been introduced into the wild).

    1. Good morning! It is a mess!!! The notification section to read comments or clear likes is all f’ed up and hard to figure out! Been driving me nuts – I’m glad I’m not the only one!!! Just saw this on Fox:

“Judge Jeanine Pirro adopted two rescued Beagles, named Lucy and Snoopy, who were saved from a research facility. The dogs were rescued by Big Dog Ranch Rescue in collaboration with Lauree Simmons and officially introduced to the public in early June 2026. Lucy and Snoopy join her existing pack of dogs, which previously included four poodles.”

Got my mower serviced yesterday – Jerry called and said his truck was “tied up” and unavailable to pick it up but decided as long as I had enough gas in the mower, he would just drive it down to his shop and back. I filled it up and that’s what he did. He left his car here, drove the mower to the shop, then returned it a few hours later. Easy-peasy! He said it rides real nice! LOL

Michael is supposed to be here around 11 to take measurements of the shed door he is going to replace for me. I’m going to take pictures of it so he has a reference to follow instead of trying to take the old door to his place. We’ve got rain and thunderstorms predicted for the next few days and I don’t want the west end of the shed half open, especially since Jerry didn’t take the 2-3 days to get my mower done that I expected. The high wind and rain could really do some damage.

I figured if I log in to comment on the post, I can access the “bell” and see comments that way and then just open another tab to have just the post. (if that makes sense) I’m in the process of writing and soon uploading next month’s opens and without access to the menu/options on the left side (in that comment screen) i couldn’t add posts at all.

Suspect this type of thing goes on far more often than thought…

Woman arrested after using her access to the sensitive court database to warn members of a drug trafficking operation who had arrest warrants.

Crystal Lawson, 32, was hired in 2022 as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice before being terminated from that role for a battery charge later that year.

Although Lawson was fired, her access to the court database was not cut off.

Between January and May 2026, Lawson used the database 106 times to search for active criminals being investigated for drug trafficking.

Lawson unlawfully found multiple active, unserved arrest warrants and leaked that information to the criminals.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated on Instagram, “These leaks resulted in lost evidence, unrecovered assets, and at least one flight to avoid arrest.”

Lawson was charged with 113 felony counts of unauthorized access, each punishable by up to 5 years in prison

Iranian Hardliner Calls for Assassinating Trump on U.S. Soil.

Brati, a supporter of Saeed Jalili the only member of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) who voted against the agreement has called for the assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump inside the United States. In his remarks, Brati described the second point of the MOU, which emphasizes mutual respect for national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, as treason.

He added: We do not respect America’s sovereignty. We must kill Trump on American soil.

  5. Texas had a data breach…3 million driver license ids stolen
    article
Texas spent the past two years building the legal machinery to make you prove who you are before you go online. This week it showed how well it guards the identity documents it already holds.
Hackers pulled the driver’s license and passport numbers of more than 3 million people out of a state government system, in one of the largest breaches Texas has reported this year.
The stolen records came from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the agency that sells hunting and fishing licenses. A breach notice posted on the department’s website says the state’s cybersecurity unit detected a security incident that gave attackers access to the outside vendor running its license system.
The department did not say what the incident was or when it happened and it has not named the company that handles its license data.
Driver’s license details and passport numbers were not the only things taken. The department says the haul also included email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses of affected license holders.
People who buy a Texas fishing license hand their identity documents to the state and the state hands those documents to a contractor it won’t identify.
The agency also declined to say whether the hackers have contacted it, which usually means a ransom demand or a public dump is somewhere on the table.
Three million people now have to wonder whether their government ID is sitting in a criminal marketplace and they can’t even find out which company lost it. The incident sits on the Attorney General Ken Paxton’s public breach reporting page alongside the rest of the year’s losses.
This is the same Texas that has positioned itself as the national leader in forcing people to show identification online. State law now requires age verification to reach adult websites, a mandate the Supreme Court upheld last year, and a separate law pushes app stores to confirm how old their users are before letting them download anything.
A government that cannot keep 3 million existing records out of hackers’ hands is now insisting that more companies gather the same kind of data from everyone else.
Every age check that demands a scanned license or a face scan creates another database, another vendor, another copy of your identity waiting to leak. The Parks and Wildlife breach is what that policy produces, except here the data was sitting in state hands the whole time and still got out.
The same pattern showed up in October, when Discord disclosed that attackers had reached a third-party vendor and exposed roughly 70,000 users’ government ID photos, images the company had collected to verify ages.
Discord blamed the contractor and said its own systems stayed intact, which is cold comfort to anyone whose passport photo is now loose on the internet.
The lesson repeats with each of these incidents, which is that the weak point is rarely the company you handed your ID to but the chain of vendors behind it that you never agreed to trust and that nobody audits until after the breach.
Driver’s license and passport numbers don’t expire and you can’t reset them like a password. The 3 million Texans in this breach face a real risk of identity theft for years and they face it not because they did anything online but because they went fishing.
That is the cost the verification-first approach keeps pushing onto the people it claims to protect. The state asks for proof of who you are, then loses it, then asks for more.

  6. so pretend weddings (commitment ceremonies) are a thing now? ridiculous! this congressman sounds like a phony from the get go.
    FTA
A Democratic congressman has been caught up in an embarrassing situation that will certainly raise a series of questions about his personal life.
The Daily Mail has obtained publicly available photos proving that Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D-NM) once had a very expensive pretend wedding in Mexico and went through several hoops to showcase the ‘legitimacy’ of the union.
He even listed his supposed fiancée, Maria Fatima Batres, on his official paperwork while serving as a city councilman.
But there’s just one problem: the whole thing was a pretend event. The vast majority of weddings held at Akiin Beach Tulum Weddings are symbolic.
    The Daily Mail reported:

When Vasquez served on a local city council in 2017, he listed a different woman – Maria Fatima Batres, a teacher – as his fiancée on official paperwork.

In September 2018, the pair held a lavish ceremony at the Akiin Beach Tulum Weddings venue in Mexico, where events cost between $30,000 and $90,000.

Friends and family attended and shared photos on social media under the hashtag #OnCloudVasquez – but it was not long before the pair separated.

Despite pictures of the seemingly happy couple dressed in a suit and white dress still being up online, including one of them holding up what appears to be a marriage license, no legal records of marriage or divorce between the two exist.

“The two participated in a private commitment ceremony but were never legally married and eventually separated,” the spokesperson said.
Vasquez is now engaged to Nikki Santos, a divorced woman with Democratic political ties. Santos is a Biden-era political appointee who previously worked at the Center for Native American Youth, which is connected to the Aspen Institute.
The congressman’s relationship with Santos also raises some important questions. For example, she not only appeared on Vasquez’s FEC report, but it’s not clear when she first separated from her ex-husband.
Moreover, she was already calling Vasquez part of her family in November 2021.
    More from the Mail:

Santos appeared on Vasquez’s 2023 FEC report, reimbursed for a rental car, and features in Federal Election Commission records linked to a $300 campaign dinner in Washington.

By Thanksgiving 2021, she had already appeared alongside Vasquez in a family Instagram post captioned ‘Time well spent with family.’

The timeline is significant. In divorce proceedings, Santos claimed she and ex-husband Joshua Pitre separated on December 22, 2021 – a date Pitre disputed, placing their separation on January 2, 2022.

A divorce judgment was filed in November 2022, with both parties ultimately agreeing on the later date.

  7. EXCERPT: “Vice President JD Vance on Thursday warned Israel about continued military strikes in Lebanon that have put the United States and Iran’s already fragile agreement to end their war in further jeopardy.

“The president has grown frustrated sometimes that we seem to be right on the cusp of a major breakthrough in the agreement, then all of a sudden there’s a major explosion that goes off in a civilian population center in Beirut and a lot of people who have nothing to do with Hezbollah lose their lives,” Vance said from the White House briefing room, referring to the Islamist militia and Iranian proxy entrenched in Lebanon.

Vance spoke one day after President Trump signed a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding with Iran that also includes a commitment from both sides to hold further talks on a final agreement over the next 60 days. He said the Israeli strikes inside Lebanon amid the negotiating period were “not acceptable.”

The conflict, now nearly four months old, has driven up global oil prices and U.S. gasoline costs, compounding inflation concerns and fueling voter dissatisfaction that could erode Republican support in competitive districts during the midterm elections.

The memorandum includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, off the coast of Iran, through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply travels.

Public disapproval of the handling of the war, along with bipartisan congressional rebukes and perceptions of it as a costly quagmire contradicting the president’s “America First” ethos, could mobilize opposition turnout and sway independents, enabling Democrats to flip the narrow GOP majorities in the House and potentially challenge the Senate.

Recent mainstream polls show declining U.S. support for Israel and Netanyahu. Pew Research in March found 60% of Americans view Israel unfavorably, up from 42% in 2022, with 59% expressing little or no confidence in Netanyahu…..”

  8. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Thursday had harsh words for lawmakers who oppose ending the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster threshold to pass key legislation.

Trump has repeatedly floated the reform to Senate rules to advance the SAVE America Act, a marquis voter ID bill, as well as other legislative priorities.

“Anybody who doesn’t want to Terminate the Filibuster is a FOOL, a very stupid one, at that!” Trump posted on Truth Social. “The Dumocrats will end it within minutes of taking office, and then rapidly proceed to destroy our Country, adding 2 Radical Left States, 4 Dumocrat Senators, many Congressmen/women, their dream of 21 Supreme Court Justices (Not just 13, an unlucky number!), an impossible to beat number of Electoral College Votes (and that’s the Ballgame!), ‘Popular’ Vote Landslides, and so much else.”

“The Republican Party will never win another Election. I will, sadly, be the last Republican President. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and the Republican Senate, must not let this ‘carnage’ happen,” he added. “They will go down on the wrong side of History, as will all Republicans who just stood by and watched. The Republican Party isn’t at stake, our Country is. TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, AND IMMEDIATELY APPROVE THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.”

Senate leaders, especially Majority Leader John Thune, have strongly resisted any reform to the filibuster, as well as Trump’s suggestion that he fire the Senate Parliamentarian and replace her with someone who will let more agenda items pass by reconciliation, a process that circumvents the filibuster.”

  9. Just The News: “Vice President JD Vance on Thursday appeared to confirm that the U.S. and Iran had made a number of side deals that were not part of the official, 14-point memorandum of understanding ending the Iran war.

“So, some of them are written down, but fundamentally, whether they’re written down or spoken, this is why we structured the deal that we did, because we don’t trust words,” he said during the White House press briefing. “We trust action and we trust conduct, and so we’re going to reward conduct, and we’re not going to reward any words, whether they’re written on a sheet of paper or not.”

“There’s a lot of discussion, the MOU, the gentleman’s agreements, the final deal,” he continued. “Words don’t matter, ladies and gentlemen, we’re about verification, and so what we’re going to do is to say if they do the things that they have promised to do, they have promised not to enrich.”

Vance made the remarks in response to a question about a series of reported “gentlemen’s agreements” with Tehran that were not included in the public document. He did not elaborate on any unwritten agreements with respect to specific terms.”

Just The News: “Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday blasted European allies for failing to provide the U.S. military with access to bases from which attacks on Iran could be launched.

He called the lack of support “shameful” and said there will be a six-month Pentagon review of American forces in Europe. The timeline will depend on how quickly Europe assumes primary responsibility for its own defense, NBC News reported.

Hegseth made the comments at a NATO meeting in Brussels. He said that by denying access to the bases, American allies put “sons and daughters, our sons and daughters, at risk.”

He said that Europe must take the lead on its own defense of the continent and turn NATO into a “real hard-line military alliance.”

  11. Just The News: “The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled 9-0 in favor of a Texas marijuana user who wants to legally own guns.

In 2022, the FBI searched the home of Ali Danial Hemani and found a Glock-19 9mm pistol, 60 grams of marijuana and 4.7 grams of cocaine. Hamani told the agents he used marijuana roughly every other day, and based on that statement, Hemani was charged with violating a federal law that prohibits people who use or are addicted to controlled substances” from owning guns.

The law carries a sentence of up to 15 years, according to SCOTUSblog. Hemani faced no other charges, nor was he accused of using the weapon under the influence.

Hermani argued that the law violated his Second Amendment rights and asked a federal trial judge to toss the charge. Lower courts dismissed the indictment, and the court of appeals upheld the dismissal.

The federal government in June asked the Supreme Court to review the case. The Trump administration argued that, while supporting the Second Amendment, Hermani’s case “presents narrow circumstances where the government can satisfy rigorous burden.”

In his opinion, Justice Neil Gorsuch said that the high court’s ruling limits but doesn’t remove the government’s ability to take guns from drug users. “We do not address efforts to ban addicts, or those presently intoxicated, from possessing a firearm,” the justice wrote.

The opinion also discussed the fact that more than half of U.S. states allow licensed dealers to sell marijuana to adults. Gorsuch said in his opinion that the federal government has not only tolerated these developments, it helped fuel them, “which leaves it awkwardly positioned to suggest that the millions of Americans who now regularly use marijuana are categorically and unusually dangerous.”

I also had him listen to the different noise my truck is making now – he thinks it is the pulley on the bottom of the a/c unit, which should be easy to get to and replace. About $100 for the part – sure hope he’s right! Mark (Jerry’s son) is scheduled to pick it up on Wednesday of next week for the routine maintenance. He should be able to replace the belt/pulley. 16. “Syria’s Clandestine Nuclear Facilities”

    Clandestine, June 19, 2026

    ⚠️HOLY SHIT⚠️

The new Syrian regime has been working with the IAEA, and they found uranium samples at clandestine nuclear facilities in Syria?! WHAT?!

The IAEA found natural uranium, with signs of chemical processing, indicating that processed uranium derived from yellowcake was handled at these facilities. Samples were taken in June 2025, and the origin of the material has not yet been disclosed.

The facilities are supposedly linked to North Korean assistance, and Syria has been a proxy of Iran until the Assad regime fell in 2024. The new regime under Al-Sharaa has been cooperating with Trump and the IAEA.

Trump has been hunting down rogue nuclear threats all over the world, this entire time. North Korea, Syria, Iran. Remember when Trump struck Syria in 2017, and then the US, France, and UK, conducted joint strikes on Syria in 2018? Was it just about chemical weapons?

Testing the uranium in Iran is just a formality. Trump and the US MIL already know. They’ve been hunting down the entire global network.

The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world.

And they are not handling it well.
    In the best possible way.

Here is what they are discovering:

Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time.
Free water at every restaurant. Just appears.
Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited.
Free chips and salsa before you even order.
    Free warm bread with dinner.
Ice in drinks like civilized people.
Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact.
Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going.
Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it.
    Ranch dressing by the gallon.
Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced.
    Dental care that actually works.
Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s.

Then they found the grocery stores.

Five of them within one mile.
Each one the size of an aircraft hangar.
Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday.

The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes.
    In silence.
    Processing.

They finally understand why we do not have trains.

We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive.
Parking lots the size of small European countries.
Airports in every city worth visiting.

    Why would we need trains.

The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle.
The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak.
The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre.
The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas.

    Welcome to America.
Everything is free, enormous, air conditioned, comes with chips, and has five grocery stores within a mile that will sell you any cut of any animal you have ever imagined.

    Write that down.
