    2. Morning, Pat! He turned out to be much more impressive than I expected. Soooo humid this morning, temp @ 65! Almost like a mist in the air – hard to breathe. Wheezer was sleeping on the chair when I got up so I put plain tuna out for him – a few minutes later, I saw that he hadn’t eaten anything. So I added a bit of dry food, then went out with the jelly to refill the Oriole feeder. He came out thru the doggie door, walked down the patio towards the end, and started eating grass, which usually indicates they are sick and trying to make themselves throw up. He had left by the time I was done filling the feeder. I’ll leave the food out for a bit just in case he comes back.

          1. we wouldn’t be putting out the bait boxes if we had strays here, but the foxes and coyotes would get them for sure.

i do know when the raccoons get on the porch and eat the bait pellets–they get diarrhea…all over the deck. so maybe he has some stomach issues because of that?

            Liked by 1 person

            1. Well, it’s nothing he got here – I don’t have any bait boxes out except the one in the far corner of the patio for one mouse that has now disappeared, thankfully. He never goes to that side of the patio and couldn’t get to the bait anyway.

A CIA officer got caught with $40 million in gold bars at home.

David Rush had a Top-Secret clearance, a senior management position at the CIA, and apparently a very interesting storage situation. Federal agents raided his house last week and walked out with 300 gold bars worth over $40 million, $2 million in cash, and 35 luxury watches, mostly Rolexes.

His explanation for the gold? “Work-related expenses.”

It gets wilder. The man spent nearly 20 years lying about his entire background, fake degrees, a Navy pilot career that never happened, none of it was real. He applied to the CIA three times before finally getting in, adding more fake credentials each time until something stuck.

The CIA caught him through an internal investigation and handed it to the FBI.

The real question nobody wants to answer is how someone with a completely fabricated resume held Top-Secret clearance for two decades without anyone noticing.

Ex-Top Foreign Aid Official Cries As He Is Sentenced To Prison For Bribes

Former African Development Foundation CFO tells Judge Boasberg his “communal” “culture” led him to kickback scheme with fellow African immigrant

A former top foreign aid official was sentenced Wednesday to prison after admitting to accepting bribes and lying to federal investigators.
Mathieu Zahui, former chief financial officer of the African Development Foundation, cried in the courtroom and said, “I stand before the court with shame,” before being sentenced to four months in prison by Judge James Boasberg.

Zahui awarded more than $600,000 in no-bid contracts to a friend’s company based in Africa, which did no actual work. The friend paid him $12,000 in bribes for the contract, Zahui acknowledged in court papers. The African Development Foundation is a federal agency that is the “little brother” of USAID.

The fraud I witnessed while producing this story was so blatant that it is unbelievable no other journalist had already reported on it

In Lawrence, Massachusetts, where this fraud was discovered, blue shipping barrels can be seen for sale on every street. It is impossible to miss.

These barrels are used to ship food, purchased with EBT and collected from charities, back to the Dominican Republic.

In the same city, you can witness Dominican shipping companies picking up food from homes on a daily basis.

The only way it would make economic sense to ship food from Lawrence, Massachusetts, to the Dominican Republic, is if the food was obtained for free.

The whistleblowers we worked with also informed us that there is housing fraud taking place, where Dominicans, who are receiving housing aid, rent out the same houses that they are getting via government assistance, while they live in the Dominican Republic.

If the current administration is serious about stopping fraud, this matter must be immediately investigated.

  5. Just The News: “A federal judge on Thursday cleared the way for President Donald Trump to implement his executive order tightening mail-in voting, slapping down Democrats’ arguments for now that federal efforts to police voter rolls with citizenship checks was illegal.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointed jurist, ruled that Democrats failed to show they have standing at present to challenge the order or have suffered any harm that would warrant a preliminary injunction.

“Given that the Executive Order does not command Plaintiffs to do anything, and that no agency has yet acted pursuant to the Order in a way that could harm Plaintiffs, they have not suffered any harm at present,” the judge wrote.

You can read the ruling here. show_public_doc.pdf

Nichols rejected several of the Democrats’ arguments that Trump’s executive order could disenfranchise millions of voters, including that creating state-by-state citizenship lists to check voter rolls would somehow be harmful, even if they were inaccurate.

“It remains speculative whether the State Citizenship Lists, if and when they are initially compiled, will contain inaccuracies,” he wrote. “Even if they contain initial inaccuracies, the Executive Order requires the adoption of procedures that will allow individuals to access and, if necessary, update or correct their information in the Lists.

The judge also rejected the notion that the federal government sending information to the states about voters would somehow violate voters’ privacy.

“Plaintiffs fail to demonstrate that such action—that is, the sharing of name, age, and residence information between and among government agencies, if already known to the federal government—would cause a harm sufficient to establish Article III standing,” he ruled.”

  7. Just The News: “The Republican National Committee celebrated a recent court ruling Wednesday that determined the North Carolina state board of elections violated the state constitution by allowing non-residents to vote in federal elections.

The Wake County Superior Court sided with the RNC in the ruling Tuesday after the North Carolina Supreme Court ruled last year that people who have never lived in the state cannot vote in state elections. The state stopped nonresidents from voting in state elections in the wake of the state Supreme Court ruling, but did not change its policies when it came to federal elections.

“This is a clear win for fair and lawful elections,” RNC Chairman Joe Gruters said in a statement. “The court upheld the North Carolina Constitution and made clear that only North Carolina residents can vote in the state. The RNC will keep fighting to ensure only eligible citizens can vote.”

The court’s ruling does not impact voters who qualify under the federal Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, which applies to U.S. citizens who previously lived in a state and are currently serving overseas.”

  8. Just The News: “Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green told President Donald Trump on Wednesday that he has not heard the last from him after he lost a primary Tuesday night to fellow incumbent Democratic Rep. Christian Menefee.

Both men were seeking their party’s nomination to represent Texas’ 18th congressional district. Green represents Texas’ ninth district but opted to change districts after the state’s redistricting efforts made his lean more Republican.

Green reminded Trump in a post on social media that he would still be in the lower chamber through January and, therefore, the president had not seen the last from him, after Trump claimed he would “miss” Green not waving his cane at him.

“Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. President, but you will hear from me again,” Green posted on X. “I have more than enough time left in Congress to continue calling out your corruption. Sincerely, your unbought, unbossed, unafraid, unelected, liberated democrat – Al Green, The People’s Congressman.”

The comments come after Green, who is known for being a harsh Trump critic in the lower chamber, was booted from the House floor during the president’s State of the Union address in February for holding up a sign that read: “BLACK PEOPLE AREN’T APES!”

“Congratulations to the Dumocrat Party!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Al Green, one of the most mentally deficient Congressmen in the history of our Country, has lost, in a landslide, his seat in Congress – But I will miss that lunatic not screaming and violently waving his cane at me during my next State of the Union Speech.”

  10. Just The News: “Iran launched a missile strike on Kuwait late Wednesday night, which U.S. Central Command says violates the ceasefire agreement.

“This egregious ceasefire violation by the Iranian regime occurred hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said in a post on X.

Kuwaiti forces successfully intercepted the ballistic missiles, and U.S. forces intercepted the drones. A sixth drone launch from an Iranian ground control site was also thwarted by U.S. forces.

“U.S. Central Command and regional partners remain vigilant and measured as we continue to defend our forces and interests from unjustified Iranian aggression,” CENTCOM said.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Thrusday that the strikes were in retaliation for the U.S. attack on the ground control site, which was outside the airport in Bandar Abbas, a city on the coast of the Strait of Hormuz, The Washington Post reported.”

  12. I disagree – IDT we are going to be given a choice! Once all news sources install AI, where are we to find valid, true, non-AI information??? It won’t be possible…..I’m glad I’m old – it won’t be my problem but I pity my GS and his generation. ‘Course, they probably won’t care anyway – too wrapped up in trying to just survive and live a decent life to pay attention!

EXCERPT: “……Zeros and Ones Cant Solve Our Deepest Problems

Whether you’re a techbro or a lonely teenager, it’s easy to be tempted into thinking we’re only a few technological advancements from making humans out of machines. Certainly, AI is capable of solving some problems, but not the most important ones we face. AI does not pursue the quest for meaning, including how to understand and negotiate suffering. It is incapable of the kind of self-reflection and deliberation that leads to a change of opinion. It will experience no intellectual or moral maturation or religious conversion. All of these occur precisely because of the unique ways humans cogitate.

Humans, thankfully, are not machines. Our brains are not reducible to sophisticated computers. The human experience is not purely mechanistic, but reflective, affective, and experiential. As O’Hara and Umbrello wryly note, artificial intelligence “is an oxymoron.” It will always be a “dumb machine that can be controlled by us, for better or worse.” That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t fear AI and what it does to our well-being, our relationships, the job market, or the economy. But it means we, as reflective and deliberative beings, get to decide what to do with it.”

  13. EXCERPT: “…..In her Executive Order 16, Spanberger claimed, “Kids in elementary school are afraid to get on the bus, neighbors fear being targeted based on their appearance at the grocery store, and workers are not showing up at their jobs.” This misleading emotional appeal echoes astounding remarks made on May 14 by the Cato Institute’s David Bier. Bier exhorted the Trump administration to “give up on the mass deportation fantasy” and claimed that “about one in five Fairfax residents is someone who could be deported or who lives with them. It would destroy neighborhoods, rip Americans away from their spouses, parents, friends, families, customers, employees, employers, nurses, nannies, and teachers.”

If true, this shocking statistic highlights the issue that we do not even accurately know the true number of illegal aliens residing in the United States, though the number is surely higher than any official estimates issued by politicians and think tanks over the past few decades.

While warning about the devastating personal and economic consequences of mass deportations, antagonists like Spanberger and Bier make no attempt to distinguish between American citizens and noncitizen illegal aliens. What “Americans” are they talking about who will be jeopardized by immigration enforcement? Even for those aliens previously granted Temporary Protected Status or immigration parole, the federal government can revoke that — as the Trump administration has sought to do — which means they can also be removed from the country. The emotional appeal against immigration enforcement relies on the belief that once someone steps foot on American soil, he has an indelible right to remain here, regardless of his citizenship, history, or ancestry.

According to Bier, we cannot enforce federal immigration law and achieve mass deportations simply because we have too many lawbreakers already here. If anything, such claims should have the opposite effect of that intended: to demonstrate the radical need for law enforcement, rather than discourage any attempts to deport illegals.

If it’s true that one in five Fairfax residents is an illegal or is closely connected with an illegal alien, then what does that mean for the census and for the distribution of seats for the local, state, and federal government? If Fairfax County has such an outsized portion of illegal residents and workers, it suggests its political representation is unlawfully inflated — a reality Democrats are certainly aware of and willing to exploit……”

  15. Alrighty then….spent the last hour working outside – tilled the south garden bed and planted CA Poppies from new seeds – the seeds from last year didn’t come up. Then again, I didn’t exactly plant them properly. I won’t have to replant these for a couple of years at least. They get really dense and the bunnies like to nest in them. The north bed can wait – that will take more work and my back is screaming. Then I cleaned the weeds and branches, grass, dirt, etc. from my exterior patio – it is twice the size of my enclosed patio so that took a good bit of time. Picked up all the small branches and twigs in the driveway and from the patio – all in the back of my truck w/the Willow tree branches to take to the dump…..one of these days! I’m done…..unless I get bored again! LOL

  20. Take with a grain of salt, of course!!!

Just The News: “The U.S. and Iran have reached an agreement to extend their ceasefire by 60-days and begin talks on the regime’s nuclear program, sources confirmed to Just the News.

The Associated Press first reported on the agreement, which comes in the wake of U.S. strikes on Iran this week and a series of live-fire exchanges between the Islamic Republic and gulf state neighbors.

As of press time, there is no indication that Tehran has conceded to Trump’s core demands on abandoning its nuclear ambitions, but the ceasefire extension seems to signal that the appetite for renewed open conflict is minimal.

In effect, the deal represents a continuation of the status quo, which has been a state of nominal ceasefire amid negotiations, with the occasional flare up. The war began in late February, when the U.S. and Israel launched a series of joint strikes that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.”

I told her where she hid them–top dresser drawer. she went looking–in her night stand drawer. so she tried again and came back on the phone to ask what she was looking for? lol So finally she found them (one small can for her and one for her friend). we gave them to her last Saturday and she hasn’t had any since. sigh

then she decided she was gonna go look for her friend (she said she was in this morning) to tell her to come to her room so she could give the cookies. and then she’d call me back.

  24. “Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Companies: Mental Privacy is Doomed—And the first amendment won’t protect us from ourselves”

    Dr. Robert W. Malone, May 28, 2026

EXCERPT: “For years, the public was told that brain-computer interfaces were about compassion. The sales pitch was simple and emotionally powerful: helping a paralyzed person communicate again, allowing someone with ALS to type with their thoughts, restoring movement after a catastrophic injury. Few people would object to that. It is difficult to look a suffering patient in the eye and argue against technology that might give them some measure of independence back. But that is not where this is going.

And increasingly, the companies involved are not even pretending otherwise.

What we are witnessing is the rapid normalization of direct human-machine integration at a speed that should alarm every sane person paying attention. Not cautious development. Not slow, heavily regulated medical adoption. Not decades of careful ethical consideration. Instead, this technology is being pushed forward with the manic urgency of a Silicon Valley app launch. The rationale behind it all is revealing.

There simply are not enough paralyzed patients in the world to justify the scale of the investment pouring into brain-computer interface companies. Investors are not throwing billions into this sector because they are humanitarians. Venture capital is not a charity. The real target market is everybody else.

    • Augmented reality.
    • Mood tracking.
    • Productivity optimization.
    • Advertising.
    • Military applications.
    • Cognitive enhancement.
    • Surveillance.

The paralysis market is the moral doorway through which the rest of this agenda enters.[1][2]
