Armed Forces Day 2026: What It Is and How to Honor It
Armed Forces Day 2026 falls on Saturday, May 17.* This guide covers the history behind the holiday, how it differs from Veterans Day and Memorial Day, and practical ways to honor the men and women currently serving.
Most Americans know Memorial Day and Veterans Day by heart. Armed Forces Day? Not so much. And that’s a problem, because this is the one day specifically set aside for the men and women currently wearing the uniform. Not the veterans who came home. Not the fallen who gave everything. The ones on active duty right now, stationed across six continents, standing watch while the rest of us go about our lives. Armed Forces Day 2026 falls on Saturday, May 17. Here’s what you need to know and how to make it count.
What Is Armed Forces Day?
Armed Forces Day is a federal observance honoring Americans currently serving in all six branches of the U.S. military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force. Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson created it on August 31, 1949. Before that, each branch celebrated separately. Army Day was April 6. Navy Day was October 27. Air Force Day was August 1. Johnson had a straightforward idea: one unified day to recognize everyone in uniform, regardless of branch.
Armed Forces Day vs Veterans Day vs Memorial Day
People confuse these three constantly. Here’s the difference in plain English.
★Armed Forces Day (3rd Sat of May): Honors those currently serving on active duty
★Memorial Day (last Mon of May): Honors those who died in service
★Veterans Day (November 11): Honors everyone who has ever served
The short version: Armed Forces Day is for the ones still in. Memorial Day is for the ones who gave everything. Veterans Day is for every American who ever raised their right hand and took the oath.
All three deserve more than a mattress sale and a long weekend. If you want to dig deeper into the Memorial Day side of this, we wrote a full breakdown of Veterans Day vs Memorial Day that covers the history and protocols behind each one.

* Tomorrow is also a “holiday” so I posted this one today.

‘Sunlight is the best disinfectant’ — Justice Brandeis, 1913.
Even a Biden-appointed judge agrees. On May 1, 2026, D.C. Superior Court Judge Veronica M. Sanchez ruled in Judicial Watch v. District of Columbia (2024-CAB-003453) that MPD must release 1,000+ hours of unredacted bodycam footage from January 6 — including Michael Fanone’s.
No more blanket blurring of faces and voices. No more $1.5 million ‘privacy’ excuses. The Court held the public interest in this nationally televised convulsion outweighs any de minimis privacy claim.
Years of curated clips turned Fanone into the left’s emblematic hero. Now the raw, unfiltered tunnel footage — every shove, tase, and chaotic second — returns to the people’s tribunal.

Hamawy, a plastic surgeon, is the frontrunner in a crowded Democratic primary to replace retiring Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman in New Jersey’s deep blue 12th district.
The Egyptian-born doctor served as a defense witness for Abdel-Rahman, who was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the deadly 1993 World Trade Center bombing and plotting myriad other attacks. During the Biden administration, H-1B visa holders were buying houses with 97-100% financing. 97% would come from the FHA, with the rest coming from state first-time home buyer programs.
Zero money down. Thanks to programs that were supposed to be helping low-income American families buy their own homes.
FHA loans to non-permanent residents quickly grew to represent 6% of mortgage issuances. The percentage was undoubtedly higher in places like the DFW area, where H-1B visa holders are disproportionately concentrated.
I don’t have anything against people in America on H-1B visas. I’ve said it before—and I’ll say it again—that I’ve found many of them to be great people on an individual level, and I wish them all nothing but the best. Individual immigrants—especially those here legally—are not at fault for flawed US immigration policy.
But this might be the most radicalizing thing I’ve ever seen. Not only are American workers forced to compete for jobs, they’re also forced to compete in the housing market against people bringing 0-3% of a house’s cost to the closing table, versus the 10-20% most people have to pay.
First, companies import mass numbers of H-1B visa holders, largely in “back office” white-collar fields like IT and accounting. This essentially imposes a lower ceiling on domestic wages in these job categories.
Next, these workers—who are generally concentrated in certain geographic areas—create more demand for housing (especially in good school districts), driving up home prices and the cost of living.
Then, to top it off, they don’t even have to save up money for a down payment. They can close on a $500k house with $0-15k plus a 97% FHA loan. Meanwhile, ordinary American families are forced to come to with $50-100k for the same down payment.
I don’t care how you feel about Trump or what your preferred immigration policies are; there’s no defending this. It screws over hard-working American citizens several different ways over, and it’s yet another reason why I will always be glad Trump won and Kamala Harris lost in 2024.

more fraud in Maine. Rokia Mohammed claimed to be providing “interpretation services” for patients and collected $15 MILLION over 5 years and did NONE OF IT!
FTA
So while she said that she was providing interpretation services, do you know what she was actually doing, providing zero services and collecting the $15 million over a five year period that was going directly into her pocket,” Vance said.
Vance said the alleged fraud occurred largely during the Biden administration and criticized federal authorities for failing to intervene sooner.
“And that happened pretty much during the entirety of the Biden administration, and no one in the Biden administration thought to step in and stop this ridiculous fraud,” Vance said.
He questioned why Mohammed was allowed to remain in the United States in the first place.

“Leading With Truth”
Newsletter | May 14, 2026
“When the smoke clears and the fog fades away, what remains is the truth. It’s often obscured, intentionally hidden, buried beneath endless attempts to deceive Americans and make us panic or even drive us to despair. After all, as citizens of history’s greatest nation, we’re target number one for the world’s propaganda.
Propaganda is nearly as old as man himself, when human societies were in conflict and tried to unsettle their rivals with public messages meant to shake their confidence and question their purpose. Rather than encouraging objective analysis, propaganda wants to persuade us to respond emotionally, with fear and anger its dominant moods.
In modern times, propaganda became especially powerful during WWII, when the Nazis perfected mass propaganda through rallies, films, posters, and radio broadcasts. During the Cold War, the Soviet Union targeted the free world with propaganda promoting — if you can believe it— the superiority of communism.
Our current-day adversaries, China, Russia, and Iran, use all sorts of means — state media, online influence operations, and social media platforms — to sow mistrust among Americans, for they recognize, as Americans have always understood, that the greatest threat to our peace and prosperity is if we are divided against each other.
It’s especially vicious that our own government and our legacy media seek to split us and drive us to conflict with a relentless barrage of lies and fake news. No doubt, the most famous example is Russiagate — the propaganda campaign that rogue government officials, political operatives and the media deployed against Donald Trump and his aides.
Who can forget the daily media rants accusing the American president of being a Russian spy – “Putin’s puppet?” That twisted fantasy turned Americans against one another and threatened to destabilize our country. The most successful propaganda campaign in our history was 100% American-made.
And our corrupt elites are still at it, trying, for instance, to fool Americans into thinking we are inherently racist, that gerrymandering somehow creates fair elections, that millions of foreign invaders benefit local communities, and that tearing down American values, traditions, and principles brings unity.
But Americans from sea to shining sea are done with the smoke and mirrors that have been forced upon us by the Deep State, corrupt politicians, and progressive elites. We have their playbook, and there’s no going back. Parents are standing up at local school board meetings to defend their God-given rights to raise their children, men and women are enlisting in our military services, and people of moral character are speaking out to defend our rights and privileges as Americans.
We’re not perfect, but patriots will never quit. We lead with truth and with love of God, family, and country.”

“CCP Diplomacy”
Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), May 15, 2026
(VIDEO)
“Breaking (the internet): CCP President Xi’s use of the term, “Thucydides Trap” during his opening comments to POTUS has everyone wondering … WHAT THE …. ?
Xi’s remark on the Thucydides trap is a classic piece of Chinese diplomatic signaling; polite on the surface, however, very sharp and pointed underneath. It’s a reminder to our president (and the world) that Beijing (Xi) sees itself as the rising power in a structural rivalry with a (supposedly) established hegemon (the U.S.), and that any failure to accommodate China’s ascent risks major conflict which the United States cannot afford (and there is practically zero support from the American people currently for more war and Xi knows it).
Examining it another way, President Xi stated it intentionally to show China as Sparta (rising, dynamic, rightful heir to greater influence) and the U.S. as Athens (established but fearful and in decline). To some students of warfare, this may be an imperfect analogy, but the fact he used this phrase must be clearly and thoroughly examined.
Xi is signaling that the U.S. should step back gracefully, especially on Taiwan (and never lose sight of what Xi has already said about Taiwan; One (1) China, and he’s not backing down), checking trade & tech restrictions, and increasingly regional dominance, rather than the U.S. attempting to further impede China’s “rejuvenation” efforts.
Essentially, it was a veiled warning: Push too hard (i.e., on Taiwan or decoupling), and structural tensions could lead to an extremely dangerous place.
Lastly, I believe Xi’s use of this ancient theory on warfare is explicitly tied to Taiwan tensions. At the same time, it’s cooperative language as well. Typical use of smart diplomatic double speak the Chinese are masters at.”
Xi addressing a new paradigm, a brighter future for humanity because he knows the world is watching and listening and studying. This is standard CCP diplomacy that keeps the door open for deals while putting the onus on the U.S. to avoid escalation. Bottom line, and like it or not, he let Trump know you’re in my house now and we set the rules here.
FYI only, Thucydides wrote about the Peloponnesian War. The War (431–404 BC) was a devastating 27-year conflict between Athens and Sparta. It was driven by Sparta’s fears of growing Athenian (ie., U.S.) imperialism, the war ended with the total defeat of Athens, fundamentally altering the ancient Greek world and ending its “Golden Age.”
The Peloponnesian war lasted more than two decades. I’d say we’re somewhere in the late third quarter and time favors the watchmakers and not the watch-watchers. We need to keep in mind that President Donald J. Trump isn’t the only one who understands nor read the art of the deal.”

“Pandemic Panic Theater 2.0 Strikes as Dozens of Americans Are Being “Monitored” for Hantavirus—Round one permanently changed our nation. Round two must not be allowed to be even worse.”
JD Rucker, May 15, 2026
EXCERPT: “If you felt a familiar tickle in the back of your brain this week — that vague sense that someone, somewhere, was once again being told to be afraid of an acronym — your instincts were not deceiving you. The Centers for Disease Control announced Thursday that 41 people in the United States are being monitored for possible exposure to hantavirus, an illness that, until this month, most Americans had encountered only in a footnote about deer mice in a national park gift shop.
The number of confirmed cases in the United States is zero. The number of people the CDC says are at any meaningful risk in the general public is, by their own admission, also essentially zero. And yet here we are, watching the machinery of dread crank back to life like an old generator someone forgot to mothball after 2020.
Call it Pandemic Panic Theater 2.0. The first run was a global blockbuster. The sequel is being workshopped in real time, and the producers are clearly hoping you forgot how the last one ended. What the Numbers Actually Say
Hantavirus is real. It can kill. Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome carries a fatality rate that ranges anywhere from 20 to 50 percent depending on the strain and the region. No serious person would tell a sick patient on a ventilator that their illness is a hoax. But sober reporting requires distinguishing between a disease that is dangerous to those who contract it and a disease that poses a threat to the broader public — and on that distinction the gap here is enormous.
The United States has logged fewer than 1,000 total hantavirus cases in the more than three decades since the virus was first identified in 1993. By contrast, ordinary influenza routinely hospitalizes hundreds of thousands of Americans every single year and kills tens of thousands. If raw threat to public health were really the metric driving the alarm cycle, the cable-news chyron writers would be having very different conversations.
The current scare originates with the cruise ship MV Hondius, where eleven passengers were sickened and three died of an Andes virus outbreak. Andes virus is indigenous to South America, carried mainly by the long-tailed pygmy rice rat — a rodent that does not exist on this continent. It is also the only known strain of hantavirus capable of person-to-person transmission, and even that transmission has been documented in only a handful of outbreaks, almost exclusively in Argentina and Chile, and only among close family members or sustained intimate contacts.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control put the matter plainly. The Andes strain, they noted, does not spread like SARS-CoV-2. “Human-to-human transmission is rare and requires prolonged close contact, often in enclosed settings.”
Translation for those who survived the last go-around: this is not the kind of virus that hops across a grocery store aisle because someone exhaled near the cantaloupes……”

Just The News: “Cuba confirmed Thursday that CIA Director John Ratcliffe has met with Cuban officials in Havana this week as the island nation grapples with a collapse of its energy sector.
Cuba said the meeting was held at the request of the United States government and that officials emphasized in the meeting that Cuba does not pose a “threat to the national security of the U.S.”
“Following the request submitted by the US government that a delegation presided over by CIA Director John Ratcliffe be received in Havana, the Revolutionary Directorate approved the realization of this visit and the meeting with its counterpart from the Ministry of the Interior,” Cuba said in a statement.
The island nation also said its officials emphasized that there are no “legitimate reasons” to include Cuba on the U.S.’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism because it does not harbor, support or fund terrorists, according to CNN.
The meeting comes a day after Cuban Minister of Energy and Mines Vicente de la O Levy said Cuba has run out of oil for its power plants and supplies have been exhausted.
“We have absolutely no fuel oil, absolutely no diesel,” de la O Levy said Wednesday. “In Havana, the blackouts today exceed 20 or 22 hours.”
Cuba used to receive its oil from Venezuela virtually for free prior to the U.S. removing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Since January, the U.S. has blocked shipments of oil, which has resulted in blackouts lasting 22 hours per day in some parts of Havana.”

EXCERPT: “Dr. Mehmet Oz, President Donald Trump’s point man for Medicare and Medicaid, says the billions of entitlement fraud being uncovered in Democrat states may be intentionally driven by politics rather than incompetence.
“I do think it’s a feature for some of these states,” Oz told Just the News in a wide-ranging interview Thursday night in which he detailed why the administration led by Vice President JD Vance temporarily pulled $1.3 billion in Medicaid funding from California and uncovered foreign fraudsters stealing taxpayer welfare monies.
“Republicans always suspected there was fraud of this magnitude. Democrats feel embarrassed that it’s gotten this bad, and they don’t know what happened to all the money they thought they were helping people with. So it’s a great issue for us to drive home,” he said.
Oz said his own agency, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), alone is losing $100 billion a year to fraud, a total that if stopped could extend the life of America’s most famous entitlement program.
“If we just fix that, just give you an affordability context, it will double the life expectancy of the Medicare trust fund,” he said. “So if you’re out there working your tail off, hoping one day Medicare will be there for you to catch you in your older years, it’ll double the life expectancy of that program.”
Oz announced this week his agency shut down 800 hospice centers suspected of being empty, fraudulent shells.
“It highlights the reality that the fraud had actually created such a deep corruption, such a deep rot in the system, that when someone finally began to take action, they all scurried like rats into the corners. They never thought anybody would come after them,” he said…..”

Oh, my! This is VERY disappointing!!! Shame on Gov. Pillen!!!
EXCERPT: “Imagine you are a mother whose daughter is bullied mercilessly in public school, to the extent that it has affected her attendance and put her at the mercy of a child protective services investigation.
Or imagine your son is falling further and further behind in a public school too busy to deal with learning disabilities, and CPS has come to check in on him.
Now imagine that you respond by withdrawing this child from school in order to educate them at home — for safety or academic flourishing. But you’re told your daughter must suffer for two more weeks, or your son must fall even further behind.
Why? Because the government doesn’t trust you with your own children.
This may sound like fiction, but this is exactly what families in Nebraska are facing, thanks to a new law that doesn’t solve the problem it purports to address, locks children in potentially harmful situations, and infringes on the fundamental right of parents to direct the education of their children.
Legislative Bill 937, an omnibus education bill recently signed into law by Gov. Jim Pillen, puts a new and unconstitutional restriction on parents’ freedom to choose what educational option is best for their child. Under this law, as soon as the Division of Children and Family Services (CFS) begins an investigation, the child is locked into attending their current school for up to 14 days while the investigation proceeds, before any finding is made or any court is involved.
The message is clear: The Nebraska government doesn’t trust parents who want to homeschool.
The original proposal, introduced earlier this legislative session, would have prevented parents from withdrawing their child from public or private school to homeschool if a report of child abuse or neglect was made against them, until the investigation for that report was completed. Such investigations often take at least 60 days to finish.
Notice this initial language didn’t require any finding of neglect or abuse — it intended to keep children in their current school environment based on a mere report.
Of course, homeschooling families in Nebraska vigorously opposed this. Parents, a fellow lawyer of mine from the Home School Legal Defense Association, and the Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association testified in the Education Committee, and the bill was amended favorably.
Under the new language, only a completed investigation that substantiated claims of child abuse or neglect would temporarily prevent the parents from withdrawing their child to homeschool. But that wasn’t good enough for the Nebraska legislature. After numerous changes, the final language again included an unconstitutional infringement of the right to homeschool, and that version has now been signed into law….”

“Inquiring minds want to know: What has Congress done to change this?
On the farm front…
In the next month, we will have three foals born here on the farm. Honestly, I can’t wait – our last foal was born on Christmas day of 2024, so it has been a year and a half since our last foal. Newborn foals have to be the sweetest things on this planet.
Due to our continued workload, off the farm, last year we downsized our breeding program. We sold four adult mares and now just have three broodmares. The two older mares will be with us until they pass. Caranja is now 19 years old, so aging out rapidly as a broodmare- this is probably her last foal, and her 14-year-old daughter, Tantra, who broke her pelvis when she was a filly, so is not rideable is here to stay. Quieta – shown below is a lovely mare, also homebred, and as long as we have the other mares, she will probably be with us also. Quieta, below – loves us, particularly Robert very, very much and we love her.
(Video)
Although we have downsized our mare program, we actually have increased the number of breeding stallions and next year, will have frozen semen available for sale on most of them.
We have kept four stallions from Jade – all buckskin. Which we will exhibit together over the coming years. Quartz is the oldest. He is very tall, athletic and powerful, so riding him takes a lot of skill. This week I began riding him in earnest, and he is a mind-blowing ride. Our trainer is encouraging me to show him myself, starting at a rather high level in dressage. I may just take her up on that…
Next week, we go on a four-day trip to attend a conference in San Antonio, and then we are home until June 20th. Being home for long stretches of time makes my heart sing, particularly in the spring.”

“The POTUS should start with the directors of certain agencies (plural) in the intelligence community and select other agencies (i.e., NASA) along with departments & organizations (ie., Energy, DARPA, NRO) and start demanding answers. Fire each of them immediately if they don’t have solid explainable answers to this issue of UAP and what and why he wasn’t informed about them (especially during his 45 tenure). Bring their deputies in next if the director or secretaries can’t answer and keep doing the same until straight answers are forthcoming that the American people deserve.
This is not a game, this is real life and it must be addressed. IF (big if) there is some serious strategic advantage America gains by having knowledge of a capability or technology that allows us to have an advantage over our adversaries at some level and the President decides that this must be retained as a state secret, so be it.
But time to cut the crap and expose the truth.”

Now a Kentucky mother is asking the high court to resolve a related jurisdictional issue that could not only gut the right to know what their children are experiencing in public schools, but give all public entities a convenient path to deny public records requests.

Jefferson County Public Schools claimed education publisher Pearson – also a defendant – could sue the district for copyright infringement if it fulfilled Stovall’s Kentucky Open Records Act request for the Pearson-owned survey it gave her child, which Stovall believes is “inappropriate and intrusive” based on how her child described it.
Pearson “notoriously pushes radical ideologies,” Stovall’s lawyers said, citing its 2021 editorial guidance that commits to “embedding anti-racism, social equity, and environmental sustainability in teaching and learning.”
Stovall told Just the News two years ago when she first brought suit that the district’s stonewalling is also censoring her.
“Without the records, I can’t go to a school board meeting and address my concerns with the school board or go to other parents and show them what is happening in our schools,” she said.
Parents have a First Amendment right to “access any school materials” given to their children and to “speak out against them,” the Southeastern Legal Foundation said.
Governments sue requesters so they have to pay legal costs
The issue drew national prominence in 2022 when America First Legal, founded by now-White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, sued Virginia’s Loudoun County Public Schools on behalf of parents to stop survey administration without 30 days’ notice to parents, claiming it violated state law. A county court dismissed it for lack of legal standing in 2023.
But the practice of invoking copyright law to deny public records requests has become especially common in fights over educational curricula in the past 15 years.
The Show-Me State’s courts approved the University of Missouri’s refusal to share syllabi with the National Council on Teacher Quality in 2014. The University of California Santa Barbara withheld a religion course syllabus from a Hindu activist in 2018. And North Carolina State denied a request for syllabi in 2021 because faculty owners denied permission…..”

EXCERPT: “Tom Cruise felt the need, the need for speed on Thursday as he ventured out after confirming plans for a third Top Gun film. The thrill-seeking actor, famed for tackling many of his own risky stunts, greeted fans with a cheerful wave while preparing to board his waiting helicopter in London.
Cruise, 63, appeared to be in high spirits during his latest appearance in the English capital, and little wonder, with Paramount Pictures recently confirming a third addition to the lucrative Top Gun universe.
The planned film will see Cruise reprising his career defining role as US Naval aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell – a character he first played as an up and coming Hollywood star in the original 1986 blockbuster.
But he had to make do with an alternative mode of transport on Thursday, with qualified pilot Cruise offering a thumbs up signal before taking to the skies in his chopper. A licensed pilot since 1994 and owner of his own Airbus H125, the actor regularly flies himself across the United Kingdom, notably for location filming and other work commitments.
(Wow! He’s gotten fat!!!)
Top Gun 3 was announced in April during a Paramount Studios showcase at CinemaCon, an annual week-long summit at which Hollywood studios present their biggest upcoming movies to theater owners and press. Paramount film co-head Josh Greenstein said the film was “officially in development with a script well underway,” adding that Cruise would reunite with producer Jerry Bruckheimer on the project.
The original 1986 film helped propel Cruise to superstardom, while the 2022 sequel earned an astonishing $1.5 billion worldwide.
Legendary director Steven Spielberg publicly credited Cruise with helping to get moviegoers back into theaters after the Covid-19 pandemic with the long-awaited sequel.
The actor was not present during the presentation in April, but did narrate a film used to open the event, which focused on the studio’s commitment to releasing films on the big screen. At the end, Cruise – sitting atop the water tower on the studio’s lot – says: ‘The future looks great from here.’
Paramount Skydance chief David Ellison told attendees that the studio would guarantee a 45-day theatrical release window for its films before moving them to streaming platforms. “Once we combine with Warner Brothers, we’re going to make a minimum of 30 films annually,” Ellison said in a pledge to theater owners, adding: ‘Long live the movies.’
Paramount has launched a massive $110 billion bid to take over Warner Bros, topping a rival bid from Netflix…..”

Even at rodeos guys can act like assholes.
“This is the jawdropping moment an Indian homeowner was catapulted 40ft into the air during a monster storm that killed 96 people. The man, named Nanhe Miya, miraculously survived after the roof he was clinging onto for dear life was torn off by gale-force winds. Whenever I see shit like this online, my very first thought is almost always ‘Oh – and somebody just happened to be filming it when it happened’. Must be an awful lotta people out the with nothing better to do than to be filming shit with their phones. Juss’ sayin’…”

I was under the impression that the Immigration and Nationality Act passed June 27, 1952 revised the laws relating to Immigration, naturalization, and nationality for the United States . That act, which became Public Law 414 declared Sharia was banned from the USA in 1952.Under this law Islamic immigration to the US would be prohibited under the law because the Koran, Sharia law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam which is antithetical to the US GOVERNMENT AND THE CONSTITUTION. Whether it is a religion is immaterial because the law states that Aliens who are affiliated with any “organization” that advocates the overthrow of our government are prohibited.

Claim: A U.S. law in effect since 1952 bans Sharia law on U.S. soil
Sharia, the Arabic term for Islamic law, is foundational to the legal system in some majority-Muslim countries. It has frequently been cited by anti-Muslim groups as a threat to American life.
Many U.S. states and localities have passed legislation banning Sharia law, though it is unclear what these laws are intended to do. The laws rarely protect rights that aren’t already constitutionally mandated or covered by existing law. These copycat bills on sharia law and terrorism have no effect. Why do states keep passing them?
Sharia is akin to religious courts, tribunals, or other mediation bodies found in the Catholic church, Judaism, and several Protestant denominations to address such issues ranging from marriage annulments to marital disputes.
The American Civil Liberties Union has sued to strike down several of these anti-Sharia laws, seeing them as a form of anti-Muslim bigotry.
An item posted by a Facebook user in May 2019, which has recently resurfaced, says, “We have a law since 1952 that actually bans Sharia law on U.S.soil. Do you want Trump to enforce it?” We reached out to the Facebook user who posted the item for comment.
What happened in 1952? The Facebook post does not specify a law, but appears to refer to the the McCarran-Walter Act, also known as The Immigration and Nationality Act. This law has been cited in numerous social media posts on anti-Muslim themes, including a false claim that it prevents Muslims from serving in the U.S. government.
The 1952 immigration law was aimed mainly at preventing communist subversion in the U.S. It revised the Immigration Act of 1924 to eliminate the racial conditions for citizenship that had largely barred Asians, but upheld the race-based “national origins quota system” covering how many immigrants could enter the U.S. from each country.
The revised quotas maintained a strong bias toward northern and western Europeans and against eastern and southern Europeans.
The law was used by President Donald Trump in issuing a 2017 executive order, subsequently revised following legal challenges, that imposed a ban on immigration from mostly Muslim-majority countries.
Trump’s order was based specifically on McCarran’s Section 212(f): “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
The law gives a president broad powers regarding immigration, but does not cover religious issues. It does not, as the Facebook post suggests, apply to the practice of religion, which is protected under the U.S. Constitution.
Our ruling: False
Our research finds that the The McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, which the Facebook post appears to cite, does not deal with religious issues of any nature and does not address the exercise of religious activities in the U.S.Our fact-check sources:

TRUMP SBA BLOCKS 1,500 MAINE BORROWERS TIED TO $93M IN SUSPECT LOANS
The Trump Small Business Administration has suspended nearly 1,500 borrowers in Maine linked to $93 million in potentially fraudulent PPP and EIDL loans, Administrator Kelly Loeffler announced, just one day after Vice President JD Vance called out Gov. Janet Mills for shielding fraud in the state. Loeffler said those suspended, similar to actions taken in California and Minnesota, are now barred from receiving any further SBA support as the administration moves state by state to identify fraudsters and shut down abuse of taxpayer-funded programs. The Fraud Task Force is intensifying its crackdown nationwide.
