  1. Good Morning All!

In high school, I won the language bake off every year by making a German chocolate cake (base) and then cutting and shaping and decorating it. I made a castle, a beer stein, and Hansel and Gretel. I loved to decorate cakes, but I gave my decorator equipment to my daughter-in-law. She’s made some GORGEOUS cakes!

with the full moon out there, it looked like snow!! and it’s only 25* here!

    1. Brrrrr! Only 25?!? Wow! Big drop! It’s 52 here – at least one more day in the mid-to-high 70’s – hopefully, I can get my back yard mowed today before I put the mower up for the winter. Those cakes are amazing! The one with the cup at the top is a real prize! How did they do that?!?!

“Insanely Anti-Trump Norwegian Nobel Committee Gives Peace Prize to a Woman Who Has Failed to Bring Peace Anywhere — It would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad.”

      JD Rucker, Oct 10, 2025

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “It is not hyperbole to say President Donald Trump is the โ€œPeace GOAT.โ€ Heโ€™s ended more conflicts and saved more lives in the last nine months than any world leader has done in their entire lives, ever.

But facts alone werenโ€™t enough to sway the ultra-woke, insanely anti-Trump Norwegian Nobel Committee. They instead gave this yearโ€™s Nobel Peace Prize to Maria Corina Machado, a Venezuelan opposition leader who speaks out for democratic rights in her country.

Not to diminish her efforts, but she hasnโ€™t actually accomplished anything. Ever. Sheโ€™s tried, but Venezuela remains a Marxist hellhole despite her strong influencer status. She hasnโ€™t saved a single life. She hasnโ€™t stopped any wars. She hasnโ€™t even mildly swayed Venezuelaโ€™s corrupt government, let alone changed anything. Her Nobel Prize resume has two points: sheโ€™s fighting hard and her name isnโ€™t Donald J. Trump.

According to Joergen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, โ€œShe is receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.โ€

      According to Fox News:

During a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Trump was asked about the Nobel Peace Prize, but did not comment on the award in his response. Instead, he focused on the possibility of addressing Israelโ€™s Knesset.

Earlier this week, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, a group representing the families of hostages and terror victims formed after Oct. 7, appealed to the committee on Trumpโ€™s behalf.

โ€œIn this past year, no leader or organization has contributed more to peace around the world than President Trump. While many have spoken eloquently about peace, he has achieved it. While others have offered empty promises, he has delivered tangible results that have saved countless lives,โ€ the forum wrote in a letter to the committee dated Oct. 6.

โ€œHe has not merely spoken of peace โ€” he has delivered it,โ€ the forum added.

Prizes are nice but meaningless. Getting snubbed by hateful morons in Norway does not diminish what President Trump has accomplished. If anything, it highlights how he has achieved so much in such a short amount of time despite the major headwinds heโ€™s faced from a globalist world leadership that despises his efforts.”

    1. BREAKING: President Trump just made an announcement TERRIFYING Democrats โ€“ they screwed up by shutting down the governmentโ€ฆ

โ€œWeโ€™ll be making PERMANENT cuts to DEMOCRAT PROGRAMS. ONLY Democrat programs. Russ [Vought]โ€ฆweโ€™ll be cutting some very popular Democrat programs, that arenโ€™t popular with Republicans!โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s the way it works! They WANTED to do this. So weโ€™ll give โ€™em a little taste of their own medicine.โ€

Russ Vought is being unleashed. Chuck messed up.

  2. Just The News: “The awarding committee for the Nobel Prize on Friday again snubbed President Donald Trump for its peace prize even as the latest historic deal he brokered took effect between Israel and Hamas.

The committee in Oslo, Norway gave the award to Venezuelan opposition leader Marรญa Corina Machado, crediting her for keeping “the flame of democracy burning amid a growing darkness.”

Trump’s efforts in the early months of his second presidency to secure numerous deals to lessen conflicts around the world from Armenia to Gaza had led to multiple nominations for the world’s top peace prize and accolades from conservatives and even some of his liberal detractors.

Ironically, the Nobel committee’s snub came just an hour before Israel began withdrawing  troops from Gaza in the first phase of a deal that is expected to result in the release of hostages next week.

According to the Norwegianย Nobel Committee’s records, 21 Americans have won the Nobel Peace Prize, including four U.S. presidents. ย

On Wednesday, Israel and Hamasย agreed to a U.S.-backed ceasefireย deal led by Trump, which put in place a cessation in fighting, freeing all Israeli hostages held by Hamas in the coming days, and pulling some Israeli forces out of Gaza while swapping hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. This step comes after over two years of brutal conflict, with overย 1,200 Israeli deathsย since Hamasโ€™ October 7, 2023, attack. The nations of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey also assisted as mediators in the dispute resolution.

Other global conflicts ended or abated by Trump

Trump’s global peace powers extend beyond the Middle East and his first-term Abraham Accords. Thus far Trump has significantly de-escalated or fully ended six conflicts, not including Israel’s end-stage war with Iran-backed Hamas, averaging over one success a month since May.

In September 2025, Trumpย announcedย at the United Nations General Assembly that his administration’s diplomacy efforts โ€” leveraging trade incentives โ€” had decisively ended the long-simmering conflict betweenย Serbia and Kosovo, preventing a catastrophic new outbreak and paving the way for peace and prosperity in the Balkans, where long-simmering tensions reached a fever pitch in the last five years.ย

In August 2025, Trump brokered a landmark diplomatic resolution to another long-simmeringย dispute between Egypt and Ethiopiaย over theย Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, averting the threat of armed conflict through White House negotiations that secured water-sharing commitments and U.S. investment pledges, ensuring Nile River stability for millions downstream while boosting regional economic ties.

On August 8, Trump mediated the signing of a historic peace agreement betweenย Armenia and Azerbaijanย at the White House, formally ending their decades-long Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and establishing normalized relations, though ratification by both nations remains pending.

In July 2025, Trump brokered a ceasefire betweenย Cambodia and Thailandย through direct calls to their leaders and threats to halt trade negotiations with each nation unless hostilities ended, halting five days of deadly border clashes that killed at least 35 people and displaced over 260,000, though the truce has since shown signs of fraying amid mutual accusations of agreement violations.

In May 2025, Trump claimed credit for brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan following four days of intense cross-border strikes over Kashmir, citingย U.S. mediationย and trade leverage to avert nuclear escalation, though India maintains the truce was achieved directly through bilateral military channels without third-party involvement.

    Other presidential recipients ย

Theodore Rooseveltย earned the prize in 1906ย for his mediation of the Treaty of Portsmouth, which ended the Russo-Japanese War, leading negotiations at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, to secure an agreement that showcased his powers of diplomacy and marked him as the first American recipient, setting a high standard for the award.ย

Woodrow Wilson wasย honored in 1919ย for his visionary leadership in founding theย League of Nations, promoting international cooperation to prevent future wars through hisย Fourteen Points, which laid a foundation for modern diplomacy, despite facing significant domestic resistance that limited U.S. participation in the League.ย

Jimmy Carterย received the 2002 prizeย for his extensive post-presidential work through the Carter Center, tirelessly mediating conflicts in regions like the Middle East and North Korea, advancing human rights, promoting global health, and ensuring fair elections with a sustained commitment that solidified his legacy as a global peacemaker.ย

Barack Obama was awarded theย prize in 2009, just months into his presidency, for his “aspirational” efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and promote a nuclear-free world, highlighted by his Cairo speech fostering dialogue with the Muslim world and nuclear arms reduction initiatives. Critics, however, widelyย arguedย the award was premature and lacked concrete achievements and a symbolic gesture for potential rather than tangible results.”

  3. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Thursday signed a proclamation honoring Columbus Day, highlighting the retention of the holiday’s designation despite ongoing efforts from the political left to rename the holiday to honor indigenous groups.

“Columbus Day, we’re back. Columbus Day we’re back. Italians. We love the Italians. Okay?” Trump said. He also commented on the press applauding at the decision, saying, “I’ve never seen that happen. The press actually broke out in applause.”

Columbus Day honors Christopher Columbus, the man who discovered the New World for European civilization. The holiday is popular with Italian Americans and Catholics.

Some states and left-wing groups have opted to rename the holiday to “Indigenous Peoples Day.”

  5. Just The News: โ€œThe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, a $925 billion bill setting funding levels for Americaโ€™s national defense spending passed in the Senate Thursday night and included more than a dozen amendment votes.

The legislation authorizes roughly $879 billion for the Pentagon and about $35 billion for national security programs in the Department of Energy. It also sets aside nearly $11 billion for other defense activities.

โ€œWeโ€™re ready to show on both sides of the aisle that the Senate can act in the interest of national security and get something done on a bipartisan basis,โ€ Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker, R-Miss., told lawmakers Thursday. โ€œWe have a great product before us,โ€ Wicker added. โ€œIt makes huge changes, significant changes, and we need to send the signal that we can do this, get it then coordinated with the House version, which has already been passed, and move it to the President of the United States for his early signature.โ€

Multiple new offices, groups, and positions within the DOD would be established under the bill, including those focused on cybersecurity; nuclear security, deterrence, and energy; and AI innovation and oversight.

Hundreds of billions of dollars for munitions stocking and defense infrastructure are included, as well as billions for American defense activities in the Indo-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

The bill also includes significant accountability reforms to how the DOD contracts with third parties and how it fulfills statutory reporting requirements. Additionally, it requires the Pentagon, which has failed seven consecutive audits, to report on current audit progress as the 2028 statutory deadline approaches.

Military members would receive a 3.8% pay raise, and education services for their children would receive a $50 million boost.

Senators will begin voting on dozens of amendments to the 1,454-page bill Thursday evening. Given the current government shutdown, lawmakers may have to delay a vote on passage. Once the bill passes, the Senate must conference with the House to ensure the lower chamberโ€™s version of the NDAA matches their own.โ€

  6. This is pure BS! It’s none of their fricking business!!!

Just The News: “A federal judge has granted The New York Times’ request for a list of Elon Musk’s security clearances. The Times filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York early in President Trump’s second term, requesting a two-page document that listed any security clearances granted to Musk, after the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency denied the newspaper’s Freedom of Information Act request,ย Mediaite reported.

The DCSA refused to provide the list to the Times on the grounds that it would โ€œinvade Muskโ€™s privacy.โ€ District Court Judge Denise Cote, a Clinton appointee, rejected the DCSAโ€™s argument on Wednesday and ordered the document to be released, pending an additional review for specific redactions.

โ€œMuskโ€™s numerous public statements regarding his own drug use and contacts with foreign leaders only enhance the public interest in disclosure,โ€ wrote Cote, citing the DCSAโ€™s โ€œduty of โ€˜continuous vettingโ€™ to ensure that individuals granted security clearances โ€˜continue to meet clearance requirements and should continue to hold positions of trust.’โ€

She also said Muskโ€™s company SpaceX has been โ€œawarded numerous contractsโ€ by the federal government for years, making it โ€œone of the largest federal contractors,โ€ and that it โ€œis not disputed that SpaceX handles sensitive government information,โ€ including its subsidiary Starlink, which has government contracts to provide satellite-based internet services for the U.S. military.

Cote noted multiple public comments made by Musk, in which he said he had โ€œa top secret security clearanceโ€ and other clearances, as well as his posts on his X account of โ€œissues relevant to [DCSA security clearance review] topics, including his personal drug use and contacts with foreign leaders.โ€

A Times spokesperson told Mediaite in a statement: “The Times brought this case because the public has a right to know about how the government conducts itself. The decision reaffirms that fundamental principle and we look forward to receiving the document at issue.”

“SCOTUS To Decide If Free Speech Applies To Biology-Affirming Therapists And Their Clients — Coloradoโ€™s law bans counselors like Kaley Chiles from helping minors realign their thoughts and feelings with their biological sex โ€” even when that is the young personโ€™s counseling goal.”ย

The Federalist, By:ย Lathan Watts, October 10, 2025

    Kaley Chiles counsels a client

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “On Oct. 7, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument inย Chiles v. Salazar. This is the latest in a seemingly unending series of cases from Colorado that my colleagues atย Alliance Defending Freedomย have argued. The cases stem from the stateโ€™s apparent aversion to the First Amendment.

Not content with their failed attempts to coerce speech from artists like Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop or Lorie Smith of 303 Creative, and not deterred by clear rebukes from the Supreme Court in those cases, the state of Colorado has set its sights on professional counselors.

The law in question bans specific, voluntary counseling conversations, silences the viewpoint disfavored by the government, and leaves struggling youth and their parents with only one government-approved option. Coloradoโ€™s law bans counselors like Kaley Chiles from helping minors realign their thoughts and feelings with their biological sex โ€” even when that is the young personโ€™s goal for counseling.

Counseling that affirms so-called โ€œgender transitionโ€ is fine by Colorado. Counseling that affirms biological reality is fined by Colorado, up to $5,000 per offense, and could include the loss of licensure.

This is not just an esoteric debate for law school faculty lounges; childrenโ€™s health and well-being are at stake. Coloradoโ€™s defense of this blatant viewpoint discrimination and government censorship hinges on the contention, without a hint of irony, that the state is regulating conduct, not speech. How do Kaley Chiles and her clients engage in the โ€œconductโ€ of talk therapy without it being speech? Perhaps a high-stakes game of charades? The notion would be laughable if the consequences were not so serious.

If government places an authoritarian thumb on the scale, allowing only one viewpoint, invading the vulnerable space between counselor and client, and dictating one outcome, the victims are children and their families. If the Supreme Court does not protect the speech of counselors like Kaley Chiles and her clients, children in Colorado and more than 20 other states with similar censorship laws will be trapped on a one-way journey to the perils of โ€œgender transition.โ€

The eventual destination is one of irreversible physical damage, potential sterilization, and a lifetime of being a patient. Our nationโ€™s struggling youth deserve compassionate counseling directed by their goals with assistance from loving parents and professionals, not a government-sponsored pathway to chemicals and surgeries that can leave permanent mental and physical scars.

Adding rhetorical insult to injury is the fact that under Coloradoโ€™s law, counseling clients to align their feelings with their biology is deemed โ€œconversion therapy,โ€ while counseling a client to transition from his or her sex to the opposite sex is โ€œgender affirming care.โ€ The assault on common sense and the English language may pale in comparison to the harm suffered by Chiles and her clients, but the First Amendment protects speech because words matter, truth matters, and any attempt by government to silence citizens matters.

The words of C.S. Lewis hold no precedential weight in the courtroom, but in the courtroom of public opinion, where public policy begins, his wisdom can be insightful, if not prophetic, for those willing to listen:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baronโ€™s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

In Colorado, the omnipotent moral busybodies have decided that on the topic of human sexuality, there is only one acceptable conversation for counselors and their clients. Thankfully, the Supreme Court will have the last word. Hereโ€™s hoping the last word is in favor of free speech and spoken so clearly that it is unmistakable, even in Colorado.”

I called Jerry and he said to try loosening the gas cap, which I did…..it ran long enough to make it around the west end of the yard twice before it cut out again. Then it would start/stop, start/stop, start/stop…..sigh. It’s almost like it’s getting too hot or something…..by the end of the day, hopefully, I’ll get the mowing done and the mower in the shed for the winter….then we can tackle it next spring…..maybe I can convince Jerry to contact Troy Bilt over the winter and see if they can provide any guidance.
