The Mummer’s Parade

Every New Year’s Day, we would watch the Mummer’s Parade.  It’s a Philadelphia tradition full of color and music and fun!  There are districts, clubs and bands competing in different categories—even a comedy division! There’s even an official dance move called “the Mummer’s Strut”! I found the following info on the National Today website.

History of Mummer’s Parade

If you live in the Philadelphia area or plan on spending your holiday there, the Mummer’s Parade is the place to be, so don’t go too wild the night before. This 120-year-old parade is a staple of the Philadelphia cultural scene, with tens of thousands of people taking part, making it one of the most exciting events on the U.S. calendar. It all started in the mid-seventeenth century when the first parade was created, infusing dance, music, and costume styles from Swedish, Irish, German, and African cultures and heritages to celebrate art and tradition. It was also loosely based on the British and Irish Mummer’s plays, which were folk plays performed by troupes of amateur actors, almost like pantomimes, but with more of a mythical narrative.

Naturally, through the years, it has grown and evolved into a massive celebration that today symbolizes the amalgamation and coming together of different cultures in America and pays homage to those rich backgrounds and heritage of the people that chose to participate in the actual parade events.

Today, local clubs — who have started referring to themselves as New Year’s Brigades — collectively will compete in one of five categories, including comics, wench brigades, fancies, string bands, and fancy brigades. They spend months creating elaborate costumes, performance routines, and movable scenery. This is done in clubhouses, many of which are located on or near 2nd Street in the Pennsport neighborhood of the city’s South Philadelphia section and serve as social gathering places for members.

  4. this long article describes a situation in Maryland. a group of people took to firing off guns at a rural property nearly every weekend creating discord among neighbors. they called the cops who investigated and came upon a group calling themselves Moorish Americans claiming they were sovereign citizens. this link provides the story from cfp…but there is a link at the end of the story to the original (from WAPO so not bringing that).
it seems these people claim they are Moroccan and can claim any land they want (and they have taken over mansions before being forcibly removed) and their “domain” extends from America into Mexico and beyond. sigh

  5. so the guy who exposed himself to women and a child at a spa in CA is now exposed as a serial sex offender…who’s surprised?
    FTA
Fast forward to December 13th this year. Almost 18 months after the incident, Merager was apprehended and charged with five felony counts of indecent exposure, with bail set at $350,000. Together with offences that came to light during a three-month investigation that followed the initial charges, he faces 11 charges, all related to indecent exposure while posing as a transgender woman. The LADP interviewed five victims and witnesses to corroborate the indecent exposure allegations. He’s being held in a facility for male inmates, and is scheduled to be appear in court on December 30th.

But though Merager has been revealed as a sex offender who used California’s progressive trans rights ordinances to ply his perversion, the mainstream media has chosen to remain silent about the error caused by its blatant leftist bias. This was expected. For the ‘woke’ Left narrative to pervert Western values and engineer an alternative reality has advanced to the level of the absurd, especially when it comes to LGBTQ matters.

  6. interesting read on the 3/5 clause and it’s intentions
    FTA
It is assumed that the Three-Fifths Clause is separate from apportionment, but it’s not. If those who assume it to be a negative knew it limited the number of Representatives, it would not be considered so. Limiting the number of slave states is a positive, since it reduced the power of slave states.

Since the start of the paragraph begins with determining how many representatives there would be based on the population of each state, the Three-Fifths Cause drastically limited the number of Representatives from slave holding states.

Since only 60% (3/5) of slaves counted for the purpose of Representatives in the federal Congress, it meant there were fewer numbers in the House. It greatly reduced their power by limiting their representation in Congress — therefore, pro-slavery interests had less of a voice at the federal lawmaking level.

“Does woke corporate policy violate America’s antitrust laws?”
    By John Dale Dunn

Entire Article @ AT: “Chris Talgo at The Heartland Institute asserts that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics have become the bully boy project of the the big Wall Street investment firms and Fortune 500 companies, using trillions of dollars in assets under their control, that are just pension funds and retirement accounts for everyday Americans. Under the law, they have no right to use their fiduciary relationship with investors and savers to push a political agenda — so what gives?

As Mr. Talgo asserts, there is a good legal argument that ESG violates antitrust laws, an argument gaining momentum at the state and federal levels. On December 6, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced that the Committee on the Judiciary will investigate this very matter when the 118th U.S. Congress convenes next month.

According to a letter penned by Jordan and several of his Republican colleagues,

Woke corporations are collectively adopting and imposing progressive policy goals that American consumers do not want or do not need. … [W]hen companies agree to work together to punish disfavored views or industries or to otherwise advance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals, this coordinated behavior may violate the antitrust laws and harm American consumers.

    Specifically, Rep. Jordan asserts:

The “traditional principles that prohibit cooperation among competitors in ways that restrict price, output, or quality” apply “regardless of their values-based intent.” As one antitrust expert has explained, ‘[t]he loftiest of purported motivations do not excuse anti-competitive collusion among rivals. That’s long-standing antitrust law.'”

Talgo points out that in other words, Jordan says financial/investment firms cannot engage in collusive political or economic behavior, regardless of their theory of climate or environmental science. Some of the few remaining Republican congressmen have announced that they believe that ESG violates antitrust laws, and they are requesting that the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigate the matter.

Mr. Talgo suggests that the best approach to counter the ESG behemoth is an all-fronts attack via We the People, the states, as well as the federal government. Fortunately, an alliance is finally coalescing. I’ll second that motion. The ESG movement is just another socialist environmentalist anti-American putsch.

  8. EXCERPT: “When the Democrats finally passed the “Inflation Reduction Act” in 2022 (how’s that going?), they included several tax hikes set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2023.

Americans for Tax reform’s Mike Palicz has conveniently compiled a list of them, along with his take on their intended effects:

$6.5 Billion Natural Gas Tax Which Will Increase Household Energy Bills
$12 Billion Crude Oil Tax Which Will Increase Household Costs
$1.2 Billion Coal Tax Which Will Increase Household Energy Bills
$74 Billion Stock Tax Which Will Hit Your Nest Egg — 401(k)s, IRAs and Pension Plans
$225 Billion Corporate Income Tax Hike Which Will Be Passed on to Households

Which industry will likely be most affected? According to the Tax Foundation, “the coal industry faces the heaviest burden of the book minimum tax, facing a net tax hike of 7.2 percent of its pretax book income, followed by automobile and truck manufacturing, which faces a 5.1 percent tax hike.”

  9. Entire Article from Todd Starnes: “Amid the release of year-end rankings of television networks showing declines for all of the alphabet companies — NBC, CBS, ABC — former President Donald Trump issued his latest “I told you so.”

“Wow!!! So while Trump-hating CNN & MSNBC (MSDNC!) ratings are both at record lows, numbers that they have never seen before (‘they’re toast’), Fox News ratings are also way down because they never say ‘Trump’ or Truth, never talk about the rigged presidential election, and is a fake polling network,” Trump wrote in a New Year’s Eve post on Truth Social. “Our giant MAGA base, much bigger than anyone knows, does not like watching Fox play their games. Their ratings will continue to sink. Make America Great Again!”

Forbes noted this month that “CNN and MSNBC both had their lowest-rated years in history.” Also, this week Variety posted a review of 2022‘s cable TV winners and losers, showing many of the networks saw steep declines in viewers and ratings. The top-five most-watched networks all posted large declines in viewers, according to Variety’s review of Nielsen ratings.

    NBC -7%.
    CBS -8%.
    ABC -6%,
    Fox -14%
    Fox News Channel -1%.

Also, among the key demographic of 18- to 49-year-olds, all those networks above posted large declines, according to Nielsen.

    Fox -23%
    CBS -22%.
    NBC -13%.
    ABC -12%
    Fox News Channel -9%.

Notably, Variety acknowledged the impending dominance of the streaming world, where Newsmax is a large player with its OTT (over-the-top media service) application offering free streaming on the internet and smart phones. “There may come a time when it just doesn’t make sense to rank the broadcast and cable networks anymore,” Variety’s Michael Schneider wrote. “Actually, that time is probably already here, with most viewing now taking place via streaming and other means.”

The cops were working the New Year’s Eve detail in Times Square when two of them were struck in the head with a large knife in what police are investigating as a possible targeted attack around 10 p.m., the sources said.

One of the cops shot Bickford, who lives in Wells, Maine, in the shoulder after he attacked them on Eighth Avenue between 51st and 52nd Street, the sources said. The cops who were attacked with the large knife were outside the security screening zone, officials said.”

From Fox: “I want to be clear that the FBI, through the Joint Terrorism Task Force, is working very closely with [NYPD] to determine the nature of this attack,” the FBI’s Michael Driscoll said at a Sunday morning news conference. “And we will run every lead to ground. I also want to be very clear, as you’ve heard said tonight previously, this is very much an ongoing investigation so our ability to talk about specifics is limited.”

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ JustTheNews: “The billionaire co-founder of Home Depot is slamming what he says is a poor work ethic among laborers today, claiming that “nobody gives a damn” about job performance in the present-day economy.

“’Nobody works. Nobody gives a damn,” Bernie Marcus told the Financial Times in an interview this week. In a jeremiad against what he claimed were insufficiently motivated workers, Marcus mimicked them: “Just give it to me. Send me money. I don’t want to work – I’m too lazy, I’m too fat, I’m too stupid.”

The business tycoon claimed to the Times that his highly successful hardware chain would never realize the same level of growth and popularity in the modern economy. “We would end up with 15, 16 stores,” he said. “I don’t know that we could go further.”

    1. “Let’s make this all part of our collective New Years’ Resolution!”

“Main stream public opinion no longer views the WEF as a bunch of rich people partying at Davos. They are questioning and demanding answers. Now, on social media people are asking hard questions. We are making a difference – not just me or Russell Brand, but all of us.

This is what 5th-gen warfare can be all about. Decentralized resistance. This day is a day to reflect upon the New Year. Our tradition is to take down the Christmas tree, plus all the trappings of Christmas and pack it all away. This small chore on this first day of the new year creates a space to reflect upon the old and the new. It is a time or renewal and preparation for what lies ahead.

Have a great New Year’s Day folks, where ever you are.”

  15. “Revisiting the Capitol “Insurrection” Event in Light of New Evidence to Galvanize it as and Entrapment Operation” — The 16th article in the series The Hunt Is On examining and galvanizing the Capitol “insurrection” event as an inarguable entrapment operation

    Political Moonshine

EXCERPT: “The Capitol “insurrection” event was an obvious entrapment operation from the very beginning and that’s why I started ripping video in real time to preserve it as evidence for an inarguable case to be made later, which I did. Today, we revisit that case to galvanize it in light of new evidence. The video files I ripped were later compiled into a single video, which provides sufficient evidence by itself to indicate that the 06 Jan 21 event was an entrapment operation. The new evidence leaves zero room for an alternative explanation as I’ll thoroughly outline in this 16th article in this series.

This position on the Capitol “entrapment” operation and the work into it is a pillar for the series of articles The Hunt Is On. That series evidences how a corrupt, criminal and treasonous U.S. politburo and Biden Administration are bending back the entire federal apparatus including America’s agencies, departments and institutions to hunt and eliminate Biden’s political opposition under the guise of “domestic terrorist” and “domestic terrorism.”

Whether people know it, this is what our government routinely does: problem:reaction:solution. It’s succinctly explained in this:

The crux of it all is understanding how “domestic terrorists” and “domestic terrorism” were ginned-up out of thin air just like the fraudulent COVID-19 “pandemic” was and it was all orchestrated with help from the FBI’s confidential human assets on the ground at the Capitol on that day. Those assets were in-part comprised of factions of Antifa, Black Lives Matter and a peculiar individual named Ray Epps.

Those assets served the entrapment construct as functionary dog whistles running point to lead innocent demonstrators who were expressing their Constitutionally protected First Amendment rights into breaching the Capitol Building.

It wasn’t my fault that the Republicans didn’t live up to expectations in the MidTerms. I was 233-20! It was the “abortion issue,” poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters. Also, the people that pushed so hard, for decades, against abortion, got their wish from the U.S. Supreme Court, & just plain disappeared, not to be seen again. Plus, Mitch stupid $’s!

Furthermore, Bickford’s aunt reported his radicalization to authorities because he allegedly said he wanted to fight in Afghanistan.
