Alpacas…More Warmth, Less Itch

We have several alpaca farms sprouting up in our area and I thought I’d find some amazing facts to share about them.

There are two breeds of alpacas, the huacaya and the suri. The huacaya have fluffy hair, much like a teddy bear. The suri have long wavy hair that hangs off its body.

Alpacas have soft pads on the bottom of their feet which don’t dig into the ground like the hooves of a horse or a cow.

Much like llamas, alpacas are known to spit when they’re annoyed with someone or angry with someone.

When they sit, they fold their legs under their body, which makes them very easy for transporting.

When they eat grass, they cut off the top of the plant rather than pulling it by the root. This is why many farmers use alpacas like a lawnmower.

Alpacas use their tail to express their feelings towards one another. If they don’t like something they will move it back and forth. If it’s being submissive, it will move its tail over its body and crouch down.

Alpaca mothers will always have their offspring in the morning. By having their offspring in the morning, the offspring will have the whole day to dry off, begin walking around and go back to its mother for nursing before the temperatures begin to drop at night.

Female alpacas have an 11-month pregnancy period and in 90% of the cases, don’t need help in delivering their offspring.

Alpacas were domesticated by the Incas more than 6,000 years ago. They were mainly raised due to their incredible fleece. The fleece is known for its quality and elite characteristics.

Alpaca fiber is a lot like a sheep’s wool but it’s much warmer and not as itchy. It doesn’t have lanolin, which is what makes it hypoallergenic and it’s able to be processed without high temperatures or harsh chemicals.

Alpaca fiber is flame resistant and water resistant. It can wick away moisture because it has a unique ability to mimic cotton in the moisture region.

Due to their close genetic makeup, alpacas and llamas can cross breed. The offspring that they create is known as “huarizo”.

Alpacas are known for using a communal feces pile. Due to preferring to use a predetermined spot for feces, many alpacas have been successfully house trained.

When they’re breeding, the male alpaca emits a unique and throaty vocalization called “orgling.”

Alpacas can be found in many different colors such as fawn, grey, brown, black, white and any different combination of these.

Due to their small size, it only takes an acre of productive pasture to sustain as many as 8 alpacas.

Alpacas are known to be very friendly with human children and very sociable with dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, sheep and goats.

Alpacas can live to be 25 years long and they’re able to survive in almost all climates.

While content alpacas tend to hum, when an alpaca wants to show friendly behavior, it will make a clucking or clicking noise.

Alpacas need a lot less food than most other animals their size. On average, one alpaca will consume two pounds of hay each day with about a cup of any other supplemental food.

Alpacas are usually about three feet at shoulder height when full grown. Some can reach four to seven feet in length at adulthood.

Alpacas are herbivores and they have a three chambered stomach. They will mostly eat grass but some have been known to eat wood, bark, leaves and stems.

Baby alpacas are called “crias” and they can weigh up to 20 pounds at birth.

Next to mohair, alpaca fiber is considered to be the second strongest natural animal fiber.

    RACISTS!!!!!!!!!! can you imagine?
    FTA
Americans oppose President Joe Biden’s lawless and wage-cutting mass migration because they are racist, not because of their economic worries, according to former President Barack Obama.

“Right now, the biggest fuel behind the Republican agenda is related to immigration and the fear that somehow America’s character is going to be changed if, people of darker shades, there are too many of them here,” Obama told a meeting of Hispanic realtors on September 25 in San Diego, California.

Obama used his divide-and-rule claims of racism to hide the public opposition to migration’s economic impact, according to his comments posted in a September 25 report by the San Diego Union-Tribune:

I wish I could be more euphemistic about it except [they’re] not that subtle about it — they’re just kind of saying it,” Obama said. “You hear it on hard-right media, you hear it from candidates and politicians, you hear things like ‘great replacement theory’ — I mean, this is not subtle. Unless we’re able to return to a more inclusive vision inside the Republican Party, it’s going to be hard to get a bill done.

Formella said some voters who received the mailers were told that they “have a history of requesting absentee ballots” when they hadn’t voted by mail in the past.

Other mailers with ballot applications were sent to incorrect addresses or with self addressed envelopes to return the ballot requests to a non-existent county board of elections, he said.

He gave the party until Sept. 27 to submit a written plan to the AG’s office explaining how it will comply with the cease and desist order.

New Hampshire allows voters to cast absentee ballots ahead of state elections by mail if they will be absent from the town or city they live in on Election Day or are unable to show up to the polls because of a disability, illness, job or religious observance.

The mailers with incorrect return addresses appear to have been sent mostly to voters in the former Republican stronghold of Rockingham County, a middle-class suburban county which swung to Democratic Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

With recent polls in the Granite State showing Biden’s approval rating dwindling in the low 30s, Republicans are eyeing the state’s three up-for-grabs congressional seats – two House and one Senate – which are all currently held by Democrats.

  5. hmmmmm…more info on the man Houck “assailed”…let’s see if this fades away…he has a warrant outstanding in really interesting
    FTA
As it turns out, B.L. filed a complaint against Houck in Philadelphia Municipal Court soon after the October 13, 2021, incident. That charge was recently dismissed because B.L. did not show up for the hearings. Houck did. At the time of the shoving incident, B.L. was 70, not 72 as his defenders claim. To put that age in perspective, the actor most closely associated with Philadelphia, Sylvester Stallone, is 76 and still making action movies.

B.L. has some familiarity with Philadelphia courts. In the 1970s he was arrested on multiple charges related to possession and manufacturing of controlled substances. The three charges were pled down to a single change and B.L. was sentenced to three years of probation. He was also charged with “disorderly conduct persistent.” As the attorney who helped me navigate Pennsylvania court dockets observed, “Poetic that the first important thing on the ACCUSER’s docket is ‘WARRANT OUTSTANDING.’ Hmm, figured the DOJ would be more interested in THAT eh?”

More recent and perhaps more relevant is B.L.’s involvement in a 2017 Mass Tort against Janssen Pharmaceuticals relating to the drug Risperdal. Risperdal is “an atypical antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.” Concludes my attorney friend, “So, we’re dealing with accusations from a 71-year-old who was previously arrested on multiple drug charges, pled guilty to one, pled guilty to disorderly conduct, and was involved in lawsuits about the side-effects of his antipsychotic medication.” He adds, “Something that the media probably won’t normally discuss.”

    FTA
MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle and her guests on The 11th Hour were in fits of laughter as they mocked Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham with the implication that he is gay during an off-the-rails segment about abortion policy in the United States.

On Friday’s show, Ruhle’s panel guests included CBS Sunday Morning‘s Nancy Giles, CNBC’s Ron Insana, MSNBC columnist Liz Plank, and comic and podcaster Judy Gold.

“And, the fact that he is telling women what to do with their bodies,” Gold began. She paused a second before Giles nodded and said, “Go for it.”

“He’s never seen a vagina! He’s never seen a naked woman!” Gold blurted, as the whole panel laughed it up, including Stephanie Ruhle. “And he is telling me?”

The implication that Gold was using to crack up the panel is one that’s made pretty often on the Democrat side, which is to suggest Graham is gay, apparently as an insult.

Amid the crosstalk and tittering, Ruhle added her own wink and nudge, saying, “We don’t know that for sure. We do not know that for sure.”

MSNBC’s Liz Plank said “It’s probably true, it’s probably true.”

“Judy we would refer to that as an unconfirmed report,” said CNBC’s Insana getting in on it.

“Someone needs to find out!” said Plank.

Not to be outdone, John Deere wants farmers to switch to electric tractors and combines. Mr. Royal Brown writes:

A close friend farms over 10,000 acres of corn in the Midwest. The property is spread out over three counties. His operation is a “partnership farm” with John Deere… He recently received a phone call from his John Deere representative, and they want the farm to go to electric tractors and combines in 2023. He currently has 5 diesel combines that cost $900,000 each that are traded-in every 3 years. Also, over 10 really BIG tractors. JD wants him to go all electric soon. He said: “Ok, I have some questions. How do I charge these combines when they are 3 counties away from the shop in the middle of a cornfield, in the middle of nowhere? How do I run them 24 hours a day for 10 or 12 days straight when the harvest is ready, and the weather is coming in? How do I get a 50,000+ lb. combine that takes up the width of an entire road back to the shop 20 miles away when the battery goes dead?” There was dead silence on the other end of the phone…

  8. Entire Article @ Brownstone (originally posted at EpochTimes):

Are We Falling as Rome Did?

BY JULIE PONESSE SEPTEMBER 23, 2022 PHILOSOPHY, SOCIETY 5 MINUTE READ

The clock seems to be ticking. Growing disparities in wealth, a housing and gas crisis, transhumanism galloping over the horizon, heroized incivility, and the constant threat of viruses, the “cures” for which may be worse than the diseases.

Global politics feels eerily apocalyptic these days and, in our own little worlds, many of us are so lost, so unmoored from the comforts of our pre-pandemic lives, that we don’t know which end is up or what the future will hold. Investigative journalist Trish Wood recently wrote that we are living the fall of Rome (though it’s being pushed on us as a virtue).

I wonder, are we falling as Rome did? Is it possible that our civilization is on the verge of collapse? Not imminent collapse, perhaps, but are we taking the initial steps that civilizations before ours took before their eventual downfalls? Will we suffer the fates of the Indus, the Vikings, the Mayans, and the failed dynasties of China?

As a philosopher, I need first to understand what we mean by “civilization” and what it would mean for that thing to collapse.

This is a significant conceptual hurdle. “Civilization” (from the Latin civitas, meaning a body of people) was first used by anthropologists to refer to a “society made up of cities” (Mycenae’s Pylos, Thebes, and Sparta, for example). Ancient civilizations were typically non-nomadic settlements with concentrated complexes of persons who divided labor. They had monumental architecture, hierarchical class structures, and significant technological and cultural developments.

But just what is our civilization? There isn’t a tidy line between it and the next in the way the Mayans’ and the Greeks’ coexistence was defined by the ocean between them. Is the concept of Western civilization—rooted in the culture that emerged from the Mediterranean basin over 2,000 years ago—still meaningful, or has globalization made any distinction between contemporary civilizations meaningless? “I am a citizen of the world,” wrote Diogenes in the fourth century B.C. But of course, his world wasn’t quite as vast as our own.

Now for the second issue: civilizational collapse. Anthropologists typically define it as a rapid and enduring loss of population, socio-economic complexity, and identity.

Will we suffer a mass loss of population or socio-economic complexity? Perhaps. But that isn’t what concerns me. What I really worry about is our loss of identity. I worry that we’ve lost the plot, as they say, and that with all our focus on the ability of science to save us, we’ve lost our ideals, our spirit, our reasons for being. I worry we are suffering what Betty Friedan called “a slow death of the mind and spirit.” I worry that our nihilism, our façadism, our progressivism are incurring a debt that we may not be able to pay.

As the eminent anthropologist Sir John Glubb wrote (pdf), “The life-expectation of a great nation, it appears, commences with a violent, and usually unforeseen, outburst of energy, and ends in a lowering of moral standards, cynicism, pessimism and frivolity.”

Think of a civilization as the top step on a staircase, with each stair below having fallen away. Western civilization today is built largely on the foundational ideals of ancient Greece and Rome that endure long after their physical structures and governments disappeared. But they endure because we find them meaningful. They endure through literature and art and conversation and ritual. They endure in how we marry, how we write about one another, and how we care for our sick and aging.

One lesson history tries to teach us is that civilizations are complex systems—of technology, economics, foreign relations, immunology, and civility—and complex systems regularly give way to failure. The collapse of our civilization is almost certainly inevitable; the only questions are when, why, and what will replace us.

But this brings me to another point. Early in its usage, anthropologists started using “civilization” as a normative term, distinguishing “civilized society” from those who are tribal or barbaric. Civilizations are sophisticated, noble, and morally good; other societies are uncivilized, backward, and unvirtuous.

But the old distinction between civilization and barbarism has taken on a new form in the 21st century. It is from within our own “civilized” culture that emerges an inversion of the concepts of civility and brutishness. It is our leaders, our journalists, and our professionals who ignore the standards of rational discourse, who institutionalize hatred and incite division. Today, it is the elites who are the true barbarians among us.

Taking a cue from Walt Whitman, who thought his own 19th century America was waning, “We had best look our times and lands searchingly in the face, like a physician diagnosing some deep disease.”

If our civilization collapses, it won’t be because of an outside attack, like Bedouins charging in from the desert. It will be because of those among us who, like parasites, destroy us from within. Our civilization may collapse and it could be due to any number of factors—war, the economy, natural disasters—but the silent killer, the one that may get us in the end, is our own moral catastrophe.

The ultimate problem, therefore, is not interpersonal; it’s inner-personal. If our civilization is collapsing, it’s because something in each of us is collapsing. And we need to rebuild ourselves first, brick by brick, if we are to have a chance of rebuilding ourselves together.”

      1. Looks like a Chinook:

The ubiquitous CH-47 Chinook was developed to meet a US Army requirement. It first flew back in 1961.This utility helicopter became operational in 1962. Since then over 1 160 have been built, including models license-produced in Italy and Japan. It has been exported all over the world. Upgraded Chinooks are planned to remain operational with the US Army beyond 2060, or over 100 years after it first entered service.

The Chinook helicopter performs various transport missions. It transports troops, war supplies and battlefield equipment. This helicopter is also deployed in medical evacuation, search and rescue, aircraft recovery, parachute drop and other operations.

It accomodates up to 44 passengers. It can lift 10 300 kg of cargo internally and 11 300 kg externally. It has two external cargo hooks and can carry various loads, such as light vehicles or artillery pieces externally.

The CH-47F is a recent version. It can carry up to 55 passengers or up to 12 700 kg of cargo. Existing CH-47D helicopters can be upgraded to this standard, or these can be newly produced. By 2014 US Army and National Guard obtained 300 of these helicopters. The CH-47F has been exported to some countries.

  9. EXCERPTS (from a former DEM supporter): “The new puritans:

Joe Biden emerged from his speech this month “on the continued battle for the soul of our nation” like a squalling infant birthed from the loins of blue-check Twitter, bathed in the blood-red light of militant fascism.

He was finally their guy. Gone was the empathy guy. Gone was the unity guy. Gone was the moderate guy. Be mean, Joe. Get them, Joe. Get tough, Joe. Tell them their participation in democracy is a threat to … democracy!

Yes, tell them, Joe. Tell the “MAGA Republicans” they’re not welcome in their own country. Tell them their participation is a threat to a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Tell them that democracy means they have to sit down and shut up.

Tell the truck driver who travels coast to coast, working the graveyard shift, to bring freshly cut meat to supermarket shelves. Tell the police officer, the waitress, the bartender, the cable guy, the grocery store clerk, the grandmother, the garage mechanic, the veteran who served in Afghanistan who now has been kicked out of the military for not taking the vaccine, the mother of two who now must home-school her children that they are the violent extremists posing the biggest threat to the country they call home.
    ————–
    Desperate & dishonest:

Surely the Democrats know what they’re doing, right? I mean, they’re asking for America’s vote to stay in power. Joe Biden wouldn’t lie to the people about something as serious as a threat to the Republic, right?

Wrong. Joe Biden did lie. The speechwriter lied. They would do anything, say anything, and put any community or even the country at risk just to stay in power and hold onto the past, the America under Barack Obama from 2008 to 2016.

In 2020, we saw them sacrifice the truth as they micromanaged the media narrative to deliver the correct headlines when they gaslighted hundreds of millions of us to cover up the truth about just how violent the protests had been over the summer. They undermined then-President Donald Trump on everything from COVID to the economy. They did this with impunity. They did this to stay in power. That is the very definition of corruption at nearly every level of our administrative state.”
    ————–
It took a conscious effort on my part to reprogram my brain to be able to see both sides clearly and fairly. Once I did that, I was horrified by what I saw on the left. The hypocrisy, the inhumanity. Worse than all, I could suddenly see what was true and what wasn’t true and how much the media and politicians lie daily. They tell themselves what they want to be true, not what is true.
    ————–
And so it goes with the Democrats. Right now, they need to be taught a lesson — to be voted out in such massive numbers, it causes them to rethink the mess they’ve made of this country. They might destroy most of the cultural institutions the Boomers built in the 1960s, but we can’t let them do that to our government.”

The huge crowd included Muslims, Christians, and Jews who are fed up with the sexualization of their children and are coming together to fight back. 12. Hmmm….posted by PR:

EXCERPT: “This is the work of Lt Col (Retd) Alex Vershinin, a US citizen. He spells out in detail the challenge the United States and its NATO allies face if they dare to engage Russia in a tit-for-tat battle:

‘Presently, the US is decreasing its artillery ammunition stockpiles. In 2020, artillery ammunition purchases decreased by 36% to $425 million. In 2022, the plan is to reduce expenditure on 155mm artillery rounds to $174 million. This is equivalent to 75,357 M795 basic ‘dumb’ rounds for regular artillery, 1,400 XM1113 rounds for the M777, and 1,046 XM1113 rounds for Extended Round Artillery Cannons. Finally, there are $75 million dedicated for Excalibur precision-guided munitions that costs $176K per round, thus totaling 426 rounds. In short, US annual artillery production would at best only last for 10 days to two weeks of combat in Ukraine. If the initial estimate of Russian shells fired is over by 50%, it would only extend the artillery supplied for three weeks.

The US is not the only country facing this challenge. In a recent war game involving US, UK and French forces, UK forces exhausted national stockpiles of critical ammunition after eight days.’

    https://www.rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/commentary/return-industrial-warfare

Russia, by contrast, enjoys the luxury of defense plants that are operating 24-7 and producing ammunition, vehicles, tanks, drones, missiles and rockets. The west still labors under the delusion that Russia’s economy is barely tottering along. Russia has the minerals, material and qualified personnel required to produce what the Russian military needs to sustain operations; especially intense combat operations.

I do not know if this was the Russian plan from the outset–i.e., conduct operations that would create a de facto disarmament of the United States and Europe–or if this is pure serendipity. Regardless, the west has no viable options, short of nuclear war, of defeating Russia in Ukraine.

The coming weeks will expose fractures in the NATO alliance. Britain, for example, woke up this morning to learn that the once mighty pound Sterling, which once had twice the value of the US dollar, is now worth less than the dollar. That means that the Brits will be paying more for products they import from the United States. Although the United States only accounts for 12% of the UK imports, the price increase will further inflame the inflationary spiral in the UK. Newly minted British Prime Minister Liz Truss already is facing push back from the Tories about her proposed economic plan. The death of Queen Elizabeth put the political problems on a back burner for a couple of weeks. That honeymoon is over and the pressure of domestic politics in the UK will make continued support for Ukraine less certain.

The collapsing economies in France, Germany and Italy also will compel those countries to spend more time trying to quiet growing domestic unrest. When you factor in the energy crisis and Ukrainian military setbacks as winter sets in, the foundation of NATO unity vis-a-vis Ukraine, is likely to crack.”

The package includes $7.5 billion in military assistance and another $4.5 billion in economic and humanitarian support, on par with the amounts the White House asked for earlier this month as part of its latest Ukraine supplemental request.”

Notably, the bill also provides the National Nuclear Security Administration with $35 million “to prepare for and respond to potential nuclear and radiological incidents in Ukraine.”

The request comes as House Democratic legislators, including Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), are pleading for another $500 million for “New York City and other safe-haven cities.”

The cities’ funding requests show how Washington’s migration policies provide coastal investors, CEOs, and landlords with an imported river of low-wage workers and high-occupancy renters.

The federal migration policies also provide federal aid for the penniless migrants in a lower-wage, higher-rent economy.

So the flood of migrants and government aid helps business elites by spiking housing prices and cutting ordinary Americans’ pocketbook wages and disposable income.

  14. Dearie wanted the fib to sign an affidavit that they inventoried ALL the docments they seized…sothe fib REVISED their declaration of documents.
    FTA
The FBI on Sept. 26 changed the total number of documents it said it seized from former President Donald Trump’s estate.

Sixty-three additional documents or photographs without classification markings were taken from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort than previously listed by the FBI, according to an updated inventory list.

The revised inventory was submitted to the federal court in southern Florida on orders from U.S. District Judge Raymond Dearie, a Reagan appointee who was inserted into the case as a special master, or an independent third party to handle disputes and other matters.

Dearie ordered a government official “with sufficient knowledge of the matter” to submit a declaration or affidavit stating whether the detailed property inventory released on Sept. 2 “represents the full and accurate extent of the property seized from” Trump’s home in August when FBI agents executed a search warrant there.

An FBI supervisory special agent, whose name was redacted, fulfilled the order. The agent, based in Washington, said he or she leads a squad of special agents, intelligence analysts, and other personnel in carrying out counterintelligence and espionage investigations, and that their team executed the warrant.

The earlier inventory was performed by the agent and workers under their direction but, wanting to make sure the inventory was accurate, “I and FBI personnel working under my direction conducted an additional review and recount of the Seized materials in order to make this declaration,” the agent told Dearie.

That resulted in some “minor revisions,” the agent acknowledged.

  15. According to Maggie Haberman….ahem…that is a HUGE caveat….however, her claim…..

EXCERPT: “The 45th president called the Florida governor “fat,” “phony,” and “whiny” when Haberman asked about him during a meeting late this summer at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. It is not clear if Trump offers additional disparaging remarks about DeSantis that are documented in the book and not the Atlantic article.

Trump’s comments were made around the same time as news emerged that DeSantis had raised more money since January of last year than himself or President Joe Biden. News of DeSantis’s impressive haul was confirmed by Open Secrets, which analyzed the fundraising efforts of the top 20 presidential contenders. DeSantis raised $177.4 million for his reelection campaign as of Sept. 9, a national record for gubernatorial campaigns.

In addition to fundraising, DeSantis also leads the former president by an impressive 8 points in a USA Today/Suffolk University poll asking how Florida Republican registered voters would vote in a hypothetical primary between the two. That poll is far from an outlier, with numerous others in the last year having similar results.

Between the polling and fundraising numbers, party operatives and voters alike have speculated that the Florida governor is laying the groundwork for a 2024 presidential bid. If accurate, that would place him at odds with Trump, who is widely understood to be preparing to launch his 2024 candidacy after the November midterm elections.”

  16. EXCERPT: “The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Texas banning social media companies from censoring users’ viewpoints will be constitutionally allowed, which is a massive blow to Facebook, Twitter, and Google and makes those of us victims of selective censorship victims oh so proud.

The ruling is not only a huge win for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in their efforts to combat what they call censorship of conservative viewpoints by social media companies, but it is likely to set a precedence for the rest of the country’s red states where social media bullies are stifling Americans.

Despite the ruling, the Texas law will not take immediate effect; it will, however, once the appeals court issues its written instructions to the district court that decided the case.

The law, H.B. 20, was initially blocked from taking effect by a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling back in May, which had granted an emergency request by the tech trade groups NetChoice and the Computer and Communications Industry Association, which represent Facebook, Twitter, and Google. These groups alleged that the Texas law violated the First Amendment rights of the companies they represent. Funny how ironic that is.

“Today we reject the idea that corporations have a freewheeling First Amendment right to censor what people say,” Andrew Oldham, a Donald Trump appointee who had previously served as Abbott’s general counsel, wrote in the 5th Circuit’s decision.”

  17. first lawsuit against ultra maggot and his student debt forgiveness is filed. the lawyer filing it is repaying his loan and does not want the forgiveness because of the state tax implication. this gives him standing…
    FTA
President Joe Biden’s plan to forgive hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt violates both federal law and the Constitution, according to a just-filed lawsuit from the Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF), a libertarian law firm.

“This isn’t how laws are supposed to be made,” Caleb Kruckenberg, an attorney for PLF, tells Reason. “Only Congress has the power to pass laws and spend money under the Constitution. The administration’s actions here are flagrantly illegal.”

This is the first serious challenge to Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, which he announced last month. The lawsuit’s plaintiff is Frank Garrison, who’s also an attorney at PLF. Garrison borrowed federal student loans to pay for law school, but according to him, Biden’s debt forgiveness plan will actually subject him to a financial penalty in the form of a state tax. This gives him standing to sue the U.S. Education Department, his lawsuit argues.

“Despite the staggering scope of this regulatory action, it was taken with breathtaking informality and opacity,” the lawsuit claims. “In the rush, the administration has created new problems for borrowers in at least six states that tax loan cancellation as income.”

According to Garrison, he is already receiving debt relief under Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), a federal program for borrowers who work in public service at nonprofit organizations. Qualifying borrowers who make a certain number of payments and meet maximum income requirements can have the rest of their debts forgiven by PSLF. Garrison expects to qualify in about four years.

Importantly, debt relief under PSLF is not subject to state taxes. Biden’s broad forgiveness plan, however, will be taxed as income in Indiana—where Garrison resides—as well as Wisconsin, North Carolina, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Garrison will be “stuck with a tax bill that makes him financially worse off than continuing with his repayment program under PSLF,” according to the lawsuit. “He did not ask for cancellation, doesn’t want it, and has no way to opt out of it.”

BOSTON, MA — Chaos erupted at a local convent yesterday as a team of FBI agents aggressively stormed the building in the early morning hours. Sources say they had received multiple reports of it being a gathering place for a large group of dangerous, right-wing, pro-life extremists.

“We have been surveilling this terrorist organization’s hideout for several weeks and simply felt it was far too dangerous to allow them to continue meeting,” said Special Agent Josh Christophersen, who led the raid. “Allowing these types of devious extremist groups to fester is just too great of a risk.”

The FBI strike team, wearing tactical gear and carrying automatic weapons, used flash-bang grenades and tear gas to breach the doors of the convent before shouting orders and violently wrestling the building’s occupants to the ground. As the dust settled, it quickly became evident that this anti-abortion, conservative hate group was, in fact, the gathering of elderly catholic nuns who live at the convent.

Though questions were being raised about the use of excessive force against a group of old ladies, the FBI was quick to defend itself and its mission. “What do you want us to do? Let these dangerous people keep plotting to overthrow our democracy?” said FBI spokesperson Judah Powers at a press conference following the raid. “These people don’t believe women should be allowed to dismember and murder their own babies. The next thing you know, they’ll be disagreeing with performing gender reassignment surgeries on grade schoolers.”

At publishing time, the FBI was rumored to be planning more raids against other treacherous organizations, including church youth camps and adoption agencies, vowing to continue defending the country from dangerous domestic extremism.

Do you think you’re just a quiet, patriotic conservative with good old-fashioned family values? Oh no! You may be a dangerous fascist! Study this list of fascist tendencies so you can do better and be less fascist!

    1. You’ve been to a 4th of July parade at least once in your life: All that flag-waving is a classic mark of fascism. You’re supposed to love the leaders and corporations that the corporate media tells you to love, not your homeland, ya’ Mussolini!

    2. You voted for Trump: this one’s too easy. His election was not just a threat to our democracy, but a threat to all democracy – and maybe to the universe itself. Do better!

    3. You have more than one kid and you love being a parent: Dedication to the family is a distraction from service to the state. Just abort, you fascist – don’t you want to be liberated?

    4. You didn’t let your teenager go to that sleepover when LITERALLY EVERYONE else got to go: Ugh, so fascist!

    5. You use fascist dog-whistles like “Merry Christmas”, “see you at church on Sunday”, and “I don’t really like Amazon’s Rings Of Power”: Just come out and say you’re literally Hitler.

    6. You want people to make their own decisions about their kids’ education and what things they inject in their bodies and crazy stuff like that: This is hard-line Nazism – individual responsibility instead of state control. Terrifying.

    7. You wear a tiny mustache and goose-step everywhere: honestly, you should probably get yourself checked for fascism if you have any kind of mustache…

    8. You give a speech flanked by marines in front of an ominous red background, accusing your political opponents of being enemies of the state: Wait a minute, is this list taking a turn?

    9. You use federal law enforcement to intimidate and attack political opponents: Only a dictator like Trump would do this!

    10. You use the media as a puppet to spread great propaganda: For example: “The Afghanistan withdrawal was the greatest military accomplishment since the Berlin airlift.”

    11. You dehumanize the other party to the point that your followers are literally trying to mow them down in the street: Trump again! Obviously.

    12. Your name is Joseph R Biden Jr and you’re 78 years old and you are currently president of the United States: If this is you, stop being a fascist – or just silence anyone who says you are!

And there you have it – know the signs of fascism and you won’t be blindsided!

TOKYO — Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the Demilitarized Zone separating the Koreas on Thursday in a bid to show Washington’s commitment to the South’s security, according to U.S. and South Korean officials.

The visit, announced Tuesday, comes days after North Korea fired a ballistic missile towards the sea and amid fears of a possible nuclear test as the Biden administration’s attempts at outreach to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have failed.

Harris’ visit, which would be the first by a senior Biden administration official, was publicly announced by South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo during a meeting with the U.S. vice president in Tokyo and was later confirmed by a U.S. official.

“Your visit to the DMZ and Seoul will be very symbolic demonstrations of your strong commitments to security and peace on the Korean Peninsula,” Han said.

TEHRAN, IRAN — The protests in Iran have been raging for over a week, with more speaking out against Iran’s use of “morality police” in enforcing hijab wearing among women. The protests, sparked by the death of a young woman in police custody arrested for hijab noncompliance, have been marked by the defiant acts of hijab-burning and hair-exposing, which prompted Biden to launch an emergency trip to Iran to show his solidarity with the Iranian women’s hair.

“The women of Iran need my help – we are helping them throw off their impressive, excuse me, their oppressive rules. Who here is sick of these rules, by show of hair? Pardon, I meant ‘by show of hands’?” President Biden spoke to protesters in Tehran on Monday, reaching out to capture a stray woman in need of hair-sniffing.

In brief remarks read from a teleprompter, Biden noted that the protests mark a watershed moment in Iran’s history, as well as an opportunity to throw off the shackles of Sharia law, which has been the law of the land since 1979. “The time for the oppression of women’s hair to end is now. It is now! Repeat the line. Pause for applause.”

Eyewitnesses say the President’s aides frantically waved for him to read only the non-italicized words from the teleprompter and motioned for him to take his seat when he finished his speech and began moseying around the stage, having also lost his “YOU take YOUR seat” prompt card. Sources confirm that the aides lured the President to find his seat by placing a woman with uncovered hair nearby, causing his nostrils to flare and his eyes to become bloodshot as he pursued her for a sniff.

At publishing time, chants of “death to the dictator” and “no more hijabs” continued to be heard, with President Biden sidling closer to the women with uncovered hair as he joined in the chanting, wide-eyed, nostrils dilated and fingers wiggling in anticipation.

  31. going after Navarro for email account–claiming all the records are gov’t records…they are freaking out about something!!
    FTA
Federal prosecutors deployed a rare procedural maneuver on Monday night to seek a judicial order for former White House adviser Peter Navarro to relinquish presidential records from “at least one unofficial email account” without conferring immunity to him.

“There is no genuine dispute of fact that Dr. Navarro used at least one unofficial email account to conduct official business, that those records are the property of the United States, and that Dr. Navarro has refused to return the records to the United States,” prosecutors wrote in a 14-page memorandum. “Indeed, his counsel has expressly admitted as much. Because Dr. Navarro remains in possession of property that belongs to the United States, this Court should issue a writ of replevin requiring Dr. Navarro to return what he wrongfully continues to possess.”

Facing a pending criminal prosecution for contempt of Congress, Navarro courted a civil lawsuit against him in August over the use of a ProtonMail account when he served as former President Donald Trump’s trade adviser. The Swiss-based email company offers end-to-end encryption on emails sent to each other on their servers. The lawsuit, filed in the District of D.C., accused Navarro of flouting the Presidential Records Act and stonewalling the National Archives and Records Administration.

The Justice Department turned up the heat on Navarro on Monday evening, seeking what is known as a writ of replevin.

“Because there is no genuine dispute that Defendant has unlawfully retained and withheld Presidential records that are rightly the property of the United States, this motion seeks summary judgment and a writ of replevin from this Court ordering Defendant to return all Presidential records in his possession to the United States,” the memo states.

Before the Justice Department filed suit, Navarro’s counsel refused to produce any records without a grant of immunity, according to court papers.

Former federal prosecutor Mitchell Epner told Law&Crime that the Justice Department’s motion would avert this impasse.

“This is a very clever procedural device by the DOJ to get the documents from Navarro without conferring immunity upon him for the act of producing the documents,” said Epner, who is now a partner at Rottenberg Lipman Rich PC.

According to Epner, this type of government request is uncommon — but then again, so is the alleged conduct that prompted it.

“I have never seen it done,” Epner added. “It is very rare that a defendant has physical possession of documents that, by operation of law, belong to the U.S. Government.”

Law&Crime reached out to Navarro’s attorney John S. Irving, but he declined to comment on the record on the latest development.

In response to a prior inquiry, the lawyer asserted: “Mr. Navarro has never refused to provide records to the government.”

“As detailed in our recent letter to the Archives, Mr. Navarro instructed his lawyers to preserve all such records, and he expects the government to follow standard processes in good faith to allow him to produce records,” Irving said in August.

Having lost his recent bid to advance even a “colorable” claim of selective prosecution, Navarro will stand trial in the contempt of Congress case on Nov. 17.
