A pumpkin is, surprisingly, considered a fruit.
The name “pumpkin” comes from the German word “pepon,” meaning “large melon.”
It is believed that pumpkins originated in Central America over 7,500 years ago. Pumpkin seeds contain many health benefits as they’re filled with vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fatty acids.

Pumpkin flowers are edible.
There are more than 45 different kinds of pumpkins.
Pumpkins are grown on every continent except Antarctica.
About 90% of a pumpkin is water.
The states that produce the most pumpkins include Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and California.
80% of the pumpkin crop in the United States is available during October.
For pumpkins to be ready by Halloween, they must be planted between late May to early July, depending on the location.
According to the Morton Pumpkin Festival, “In 1978, the Governor of Illinois signed a proclamation that Morton, Illinois was the ‘Pumpkin Capital of the World’ since 85% of the world’s canned pumpkin was processed at their Libby’s Pumpkin plant.”
Many people think of pumpkins as orange, but they can also appear in shades of white, yellow, red, blue, or green.

Canned pumpkin is not actually just pumpkin, but made up of a variety of other squash.
Pumpkin shells used to be woven into mats.
Jack -o’-lanterns originated from an Irish myth, and before using pumpkins, people in Ireland and Scotland created these now-Halloween-staples with turnips and potatoes instead.
Pumpkins were once thought to be a cure for snakebites.
You should not carry a pumpkin by its stem, but use two hands instead.
After a pumpkin is cut, it will usually last about seven to 10 days.
Making pumpkin pies during the holidays became popular during the 1800s.

The heaviest pumpkin, according to the Guinness World Records, came from Germany in 2016, weighing 2,624.6 lb.
The largest pumpkin pie weighed in at 3,699 lb from New Bremen, Ohio, in 2010.
The current record for most pumpkins carved in one hour by an individual is 109.
The record for the most people carving pumpkins simultaneously is held at 1,060 people. This took place in New Mexico in 2013.
The Guinness World Records reports that the fastest 100 m ever paddled in a pumpkin (you read that right!) has been 2 minutes 0.3 seconds, which was set in 2013.

Morning All!
hopefully this weekend we will be visiting the young Amish farmer for pumpkins. He’s the one who bought the long strip of acreage near the river in the neighboring town in NY. Two years ago, we watched him till that area with horses–scraping all the rocks out of the ground before planting pumpkins…then the flood came and washed all his hard work away. But he was back at it this spring…and we are determined to buy pumpkins there.

so who’s in charge, wonder Rand Paul…
entire article
GOP Senator Rand Paul noted Tuesday that Joe Biden’s own officials are directly contradicting him after Biden declared the COVID pandemic to be over.

— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) September 20, 2022
“This may come as a surprise to you, but I am not sure that Joe Biden is fully in charge of the government — or fully in charge of his wits, for that matter,” Paul said during an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters

— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) September 20, 2022
Paul continued, “The thing is, the response to this [from those in power] has always been about submission and control of the individual. These are the people who truly believe in the nanny state.”
“Whether it’s your business they want to be in charge of, or your health care — they can’t give it up,” Paul asserted, adding that “The pandemic was over two years ago in Florida. It’s still going on in the minds of Democrats, but it hasn’t been on the ground on for a long time.”
The Senator also compared Anthony Fauci and other scientific ‘experts’ calling for continued use of masks to 17th century European beak mask plague figures.
“Dr. Fauci’s science is not far removed from that,” Paul said, further noting that while Fauci previously touted natural immunity to viruses, “now he only wants us to submit. He wants to be in charge if he can get one more hit on television.”
“The [N95] masks did not change the trajectory of the disease at all. The stickers on the floor only made the people who made the stickers richer,” Paul urged.

Spending Like Drunken Sailors
One can characterize the policies included in the CRFB analysis into three broad buckets.
Administrative Actions: These consist of executive policies enacted without approval from Congress (and, at least some would argue, without authority from Congress).
Student “loan forgiveness,” which according to CRFB will cost $750 billion.
A more than 20 percent increase in the reference cost of food stamps, which will cost $185 billion.
A series of health-related administrative actions, including a (questionably legal) proposal to alter the Obamacare subsidy regime, and a recent proposal designed to liberalize the Medicaid enrollment process. In total, CRFB concludes these actions will cost $175 billion.
Bipartisan Legislation: Many other budget-busting measures passed with significant bipartisan support — in this case, at least 10 Republican votes to overcome a filibuster in the Senate. These bills include:
The omnibus spending legislation enacted this March, which the CRFB analysis notes will increase discretionary spending by $625 billion over a decade, assuming the higher spending levels in the measure continue to rise with inflation.
The infrastructure measure enacted last summer, which included several notable budget gimmicks and according to CRFB will result in $370 billion of debt.
Legislation regarding veterans’ benefits (i.e., the “burn pit bill”) passed by Congress this summer, which will result in $280 billion in additional deficits and debt.
The semiconductor legislation passed over the summer, which contained $80 billion in new automatic spending for various subsidized corporate projects.
A total of $55 billion in supplemental spending since Russia invaded Ukraine earlier this year.
These measures account for more than $1.4 trillion in new deficits and debt, even before one considers interest costs. Even if some of the projects included in the bills have merit, responsible lawmakers would have demanded spending reductions elsewhere in the budget to offset these new outlays.
Partisan Legislation: This bucket includes the two measures Democrats rammed through along party lines via the budget reconciliation process, which allowed Senate Democrats to avoid a Republican filibuster. According to CRFB, the “Covid relief” measure Democrats enacted last year will add $1.85 trillion to the debt, while the “Inflation Reduction Act” signed last month will reduce the debt by $240 billion.
In addition to all the added spending above, CRFB calculates an additional $700 billion in estimated higher interest rate costs over the coming decade to arrive at its $4.8 trillion figure.

According to Comer’s letter, “multiple whistleblowers have confirmed to committee Republicans that from 2017 to 2021, the Biden family made promises to business associates that 1.) Joe Biden would run for president in 2020, and 2.) “those who worked with the Bidens in 2017 and onward would reap the rewards in a future Biden administration.”
The Kentucky Republican wrote that “as American citizens struggle in an energy crisis, it is critical to understand why the Biden family was selling American energy reserves to the Chinese, if that is affecting President Biden’s decision making today, and why President Biden has never disclosed his relationship with the Chinese to the American public.”
Comer demanded that Yellen provide Oversight Republicans with the SARs related to the Biden family’s graft to determine the extent of Joe Biden’s involvement in selling out American interests to our adversary, China.
“It’s clear that Joe Biden was deeply involved in his family’s shady foreign business dealings in China,” they tweeted Tuesday night. “This poses national security concerns. Americans need transparency and accountability now.”
Comer appeared on Fox News’ Hannity Tuesday night to discuss the Biden family’s scandalous plan to sell American natural gas to the ChiComs.

The big gray/white Tom that has been hanging at my neighbor’s house. So, apparently, he has run LM off somewhere……hmmm…..well, I’m NOT feeding him! He has other resources!

How very strange…..posted this at M’s:
This is weird…..Entire Article @ NY Post: “Two decomposed bodies were found in the home of a former longtime Rhode Island mayor on Monday, according to a report. The shocking discovery was made by police in the city of Woonsocket, according to WJAR, where an elderly man and elderly woman were found in the home of ex-Woonsocket Mayor Susan Menard.
Menard served as the city’s leader for more than a decade, beginning her tenure in 1995 before she left office in 2009, according to the city. Her tenure as mayor is apparently the longest in the city’s history. It’s not yet known if Menard is one of the two bodies that was found in the home, the television station reported.
Police reportedly said the bodies were “badly decomposed” and are being investigated by the medical examiner. Authorities also said there was no sign of criminal behavior at this point, WJAR reported.
Further information, including how long the bodies were there, wasn’t available Monday evening. Woonsocket is home to more than 40,000 residents and is less than 20 miles from Providence.”
—————
Something is off here!!!
From Fox: “Two bodies were found “severely decomposed” in the Woonsocket home of a former Rhode Island mayor, according to police. Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates told WPRI that an elderly female and an elderly male were found dead inside the residence on Monday. The home was surrounded by police cars on Monday night.
Oates also confirmed that the home belongs to Susan Menard, who served as Mayor of Woonsocket. The police chief did not confirm if she was one of the victims. Susan Menard served as mayor from 1995 to 2009 – the longest tenure of any Woonsocket mayor.”
—————–
“According to a recent obituary, Menard’s brother Robert Miller, 81, passed away on Saturday. His Providence Journal obituary lists the former mayor as part of his surviving family.”

According to this article, in her 70’s, presumably!
“The state Medical Examiners office has identified a body found Monday in a Woonsocket home as former Mayor Susan Menard.
The identity of the second person has not yet been finalized, and the causes of death for both are still being investigated, the office said.
The Woonsocket police went to the house at 2 Marian Lane Monday after a neighbor called and said he hadn’t seen the woman and man who resided in the house for “a couple of weeks,” Woonsocket police chief Thomas F. Oates III said Tuesday. A man and woman in their 70s had been living in the house, according to Oates.
Police officers were able to force their way in through a rear window and found the bodies in separate rooms, Oates said, but they were decomposed and the medical examiner is needed for identification, Oates said.
The police saw no evidence that a crime had been committed, according to Oates.
Menard served as mayor from 1995 until 2009, when she stepped down. A Democrat, Menard was first elected to the School Committee in 1981 and later served 10 years on the City Council, including as president.
In April 2009, Menard’s daughter died unexpectedly in her Newton, Massachusetts, home. Carrie Pilavin, 31, was married with two young sons, ages 2 and 4.”

EXCERPT: ‘Highly suspect’: DARPA tried to hire executive at Wuhan lab funder as COVID emerged, he says – Virologist who suppressed lab-leak debate through social media fact-checks had “obvious conflicts of interest” through undisclosed gain-of-function research, former Senate investigator says.
Sixteen months after the Biden administration conceded COVID-19 might have emerged “from a laboratory accident,” largely ending social media censorship of the onetime “conspiracy theory,” fresh scrutiny is falling on a nonprofit conduit for federal research grants to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and a purported fact-checker.
A former vice president of the EcoHealth Alliance claims it “developed” SARS-CoV-2 and “described in detail” how it would do so in its successful research proposal to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and its component National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
Andrew Huff, whose U.S. government service includes Army specialist in Iraq, Department of Homeland Security research fellow and Sandia National Laboratories analyst, filed a 10-page sworn declaration as part of a larger packet compiled by attorney Thomas Renz, who has filed legal challenges against COVID mandates.
The introduction to Renz’s report pays tribute to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and former President Trump as officials who “were right” that “SARS-COV2 was indeed created in a lab … with funding from Anthony Fauci’s NIH/NIAID.”
Paul didn’t go that far in a recent interview, claiming that “if it came from a lab, the fact that [Fauci] approved the research and funded the lab would draw culpability to himself” and NIH, “who made the unwise decision to send money to China to do dangerous research.”
The senator said he’d try to appoint a special counsel to investigate Fauci and the federal COVID response.
“We have some good Rs that have been going after #Fauci and so we spent months working to put together what they needed to take action,” Renz tweeted Sunday, though none of the officials the packet names seems to have acknowledged it.
Johnson’s office responded to a query but hasn’t answered whether the senator was working with Renz or Huff, who refers to himself as a whistleblower. EcoHealth didn’t respond to queries.”
In a press conference Saturday, Renz said that offers he made to present the evidence his team has put together were “turned down by some mainstream right-wing outlets” going back to May. Renz has equated Fauci with Joseph Goebbels, the chief propagandist for Nazi Germany, and shared the hashtag #FauciForPrison.”

Harari further explained that there is a very big danger when people talk about what the future will be like with climate change. He claimed that humanity will be divided into two: a majority of people who would suffer and a minority led by globalist elites who have the resources, wealth and technology to protect themselves and even flourish in a kind of “technological Noah’s Ark.”
CNN host Bill Weir, who hosted the discussion, followed up by suggesting the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as a “dress rehearsal” for the climate crisis.
“I keep coming back to the idea that the COVID pandemic is really a dress rehearsal — on a much smaller level — for the climate crisis,” Weir said, adding that it is also a reminder of how communities have trust and faith in science and each other.
He also said corporate control in the form of “benevolent capitalism” may yield planet-saving protocols: “Those who wait for those citizens to start dying, suffer the most. But at the same time, we’re still so divided globally within countries about these sorts of things, and there’s a lot of hope that if governments can’t pull it together, then maybe it’ll be corporations, like benevolent capitalism.”

Yeah, like they did when they murdered my son, who was unvaxxed!!!!
Entire Article: “(Natural News) The decision to administer remdesivir to covid patients and smother them with a ventilator – a plandemic “treatment” protocol that we now know has killed many – was done not according to any kind of science, new lawsuits allege.
Hospitals selectively targeted the unvaccinated for this deadly protocol, the suits state. Unvaccinated patients were forced to take remdesivir and breathe with a ventilator almost as a type of punishment for their non-compliance with government protocols.
Many vaccinated patients were given the regimen as well, just to be clear – after all, the federal government paid hospitals gobs of cash for each patient who got it. But it appears as though the unvaccinated were given it more often than the vaccinated. (Related: Taking remdesivir was shown to increase a patient’s risk of hospitalization and death.)
“If there’s any group that was targeted, it’s the unvaxxed,” says attorney Dan Watkins, who was joined by Michael Hamilton in a recent appearance on “The Alex Jones Show.” “As soon as they know you’re unvaxxed, you are immediately moved into this protocol and your care is put down on the backburner and no one pays attention to you until you’re done.”
Jones, of Infowars, responded to Watkins with the word wow, shocked at this flagrant display of what he described as “bioethical eugenics targeting” of the unvaccinated. On September 7, Watkins and Hamilton made an official announcement about the lawsuits at a national press conference.
The first one to be filed is a “first-in-the-nation landmark” case against three hospitals that were caught murdering unvaccinated patients for “bounties” provided to them by the federal government. These hospitals were paid using American taxpayer dollars to murder patients using a toxic combination of food and fluid restriction – they were starved – remdesivir, mechanical ventilation, and a high-dose morphine-midazolam respiration-suppressing cocktail.
All three hospitals are located in Fresno, Calif. The suits accuse each of them of wrongful death, medical battery, elder abuse, and various other violations of patients’ rights.
“Truth for Health Foundation has pledged financial support for this lawsuit as one of our human rights defense efforts to serve the public good by helping protect public safety, defend patient rights, and defend life,” announced the Truth for Health Foundation, a 501(c)3 public charity incorporated in Arizona. “Both Attorney Watkins and Attorney Hamilton have been engaged by Truth for Health Foundation to assist on several legal initiatives to help defend human and civil rights secured by law.”
In the comment section at The Liberty Daily‘s Substack, someone pointed out that hospitals across America and around the world also refused to provide early treatment for patients, i.e., they refused to allow patients to take simple, safe, and proven remedies like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).
“The hospitals sent them home and told them to wait,” this person wrote. “When they got sicker, they were almost too sick to treat. If someone has early pneumonia you treat early, because if you get worse you can die. It’s common sense.”
“It’s been a money-grabbing scam from the beginning, and profit drove all the decisions, most of which were wrong decisions in terms of ethics and health care,” this person added. “There’s a special place in hell for the cretins like Herr Fauci who engineered this criminal scheme against humanity (us).”

Entire Article: “The U.S. Senate will vote on ratifying the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. Not only would ratification amount to another step toward radical “climate change” tyranny, but it would strengthen the United Nations at the expense of U.S. national sovereignty.
The 2016 Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol went into effect on January 1, 2019, and it has been ratified by 137 countries. A binding international agreement, it requires countries to radically cut — by over 80 percent over 30 years — their hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) emissions in the name of combating climate change.
The Kigali Amendment, which the Obama administration negotiated and celebrated, had been blocked from Senate ratification for many years. However, on September 15, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer filed cloture on the amendment, and the Senate will vote on ratifying it this week. The Senate — especially Republican senators — must not cave to the Left’s environmental agenda.
As a United Nations treaty, the Kigali Amendment infringes upon U.S. national sovereignty. This treaty would allow the UN to dictate HFC environmental regulations in the United States — yet another abdication of sovereignty to global entities. Considering the UN’s pro-Marxist, anti-liberty bent, such a situation would be detrimental to the U.S. Constitution and domestic freedom.
The Kigali Amendment also would be detrimental to the U.S. economy, at the worst possible time. HFCs are very commonly used in air conditioners and refrigerators. By phasing out HFCs, the cost of purchasing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioners and refrigerators will increase significantly. This will hurt families and businesses at a time when inflation is already at historic levels.
HFCs are not even harmful to the environment. A 2015 study by NASA found that HFCs would decrease ozone by only 0.035% by 2050. There is absolutely no justification for any type of regulation, much less at the international level.
Ultimately, the Kigali Amendment is another surrender to the Left’s environmental agenda and the push toward a one-world government. Tell your U.S. senators to oppose this treaty.
Although we provide a way to easily email legislators, we know from long experience that it takes a lot more interaction with your legislators to get your point across than that provided by emails alone. EXCERPT: “Gaming corporation Activision revealed a “Code of Conduct” alongside the beta release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) that forces players to agree to not use “offensive or harmful language,” or “Hate speech and discriminatory language.”
The bizarre “Code of Conduct” was unveiled in a Twitter thread last week.
“We do not tolerate bullying or harassment, including derogatory comments based on race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, culture, faith, mental or physical abilities, or country of origin,” the official Call of Duty account tweeted. “All members of our community should be treated with dignity and respect.”
“Communication with others, whether using text or voice chat, must be free of offensive or harmful language,” Activision continued. “Hate speech and discriminatory language is offensive and unacceptable, as is harassment and threatening another player.”
Players were also urged, “To promote an enjoyable gameplay experience, utilize in-game tools to report any incidents or inappropriate behaviors you encounter.”
Activision bragged in the new Code of Conduct that “we have seen a more than 55% drop in the number of offensive username and clan tags reports from our players, year-over-year, in the month of August alone in Call of Duty®: Warzone™.”
An area of lesser focus for Activision appears to be the quality of the gameplay itself, as the Modern Warfare 2 reboot beta has received overwhelmingly negative reviews from many players and content creators.”

Entire Article from Emerald Robinson: “Were Dominion Voting Machines Certified For The 2020 Election in Georgia? It looks like the testing company for the voting machines was not even accredited!
Investigative journalists Kevin Moncla and David Cross have filed an official complaint with the Georgia State Board of Elections. Their allegations are very serious: they have evidence that Georgia’s elections have not been legal or valid since 2017 because its electronic voting systems were last certified for use in 2017.
A company called Pro V&V — which was hired to do voting machine certification — apparently last performed the required testing on Georgia’s Dominion Democracy Suite 5.5A(G) system on August 7, 2019. Even worse, Pro V&V’s own accreditation for that system apparently expired in February, 2017 — though it was allowed to continue testing.
Who was in charge of this boondoggle in state of Georgia? An agency called the Elections Assistance Commission (“EAC”) was in charge. Moncla and Cross have evidence which calls into question Georgia’s entire voting system certification process, including the credibility of the EAC.
Moncla and Cross have evidence that the electronic voting system inspection and testing company Pro V&V were not even accredited for most of 2017 — as well as for all of 2018, 2019, and 2020. There appears to be no public record that the testing company even requested re-accreditation in some of those years from the EAC at all.
What does this mean? Here is one of the key sections of the official complaint:
‘The actions of the EAC as detailed herein extend far beyond mere failure. The EAC allegedly fabricated a fraudulent record for Pro V&V and repeatedly, knowingly, and intentionally misrepresented the expired accreditation status of a Voting Systems Testing Laboratory to the American people. The EAC’s deceptive practices allegedly fostered a false sense of security and materially violated their responsibilities under the HAVA in both letter and spirit of the law.
The report alleges an inherit standard of any established institution or industry does not exist with voting systems in the United States. There is no benchmark, no independent method of testing, no oversight, and therefore there is no alternative but for the States to perform their own due diligence in testing our voting systems.
The complaint demands the Georgia State Election Board must immediately suspend use of the Dominion voting systems until a thorough review by a panel of independent experts can be performed.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was copied in this report. He signed the contract in 2019, alongside Mr. Gabriel Sterling, who is charge of the Professional Licensing Division of his illustrious office.’
The bottom line: Dominion Voting machines appear to have not been certified for the 2020 election in Georgia.”

coming from an accounting background, I find this absurd. when you apply for a loan, or a mortgage, a LENDER does not take YOUR appraisal of the property’s worth–they do their own. now if you ask me what’s my property worth…I may think you want to buy it, and therefore give you my SELLING PRICE which might be above market value because it means that much to me. imo she is filing nuisance lawsuits and should have her license revoked.

Entire Article @ CHD: “This year, parents and guardians stood together in opposition to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for children attending Louisiana schools. As a result of their coming together, the Louisiana Department of Health rescinded the mandate — the mandate was repealed on Tuesday.
In light of this victory for parents and their children, Attorney General Jeff Landry filed a motion to dismiss his lawsuit against Gov. John Bel Edwards (Crews v. Edwards), wherein he sought to have the vaccine mandate enjoined. In a statement, Landry said:
“Today is the culmination of hard work by so many concerned parents throughout Louisiana. This is the direct result of moms, dads, grandparents and guardians fighting for what is right. I thank Rep. Raymond Crews, Health Freedom Louisiana, the Bayou Mama Bears, Town Hall Baton Rouge, Children’s Health Defense, and all those from across Louisiana that stood with us for parental choice.
“Child medical decisions should be made by their guardians, not the government. I hope this health freedom victory reminds everyone what can happen when we all work together. When citizens are engaged and get involved, their government will listen.”
Some history behind this historic event: In December 2021, I went down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the Children’s Health Defense team on short notice to help Health Freedom Louisiana, the physician and nurses’ advocacy group Louisiana for Medical Freedom, Rep. Kathy Edmonston and Landry by supporting testimony opposing the health department’s move to mandate the unlicensed and still experimental Pfizer vaccine be taken by Louisiana school children.
I wrote about that trip here. Then last April, Health Freedom Louisiana wrote about their continuing fight to stop the mandates, with a plea for everyone to reach out to state legislators. I went back down to Baton Rouge in early May to testify in front of a senate committee hearing about vaccine mandates for children, in support of HCR 3, a bill to stop the governor’s mandated COVID-19 vaccination for the state’s schools.
At that time, the bill did pass. But Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards continued pushing the mandates through the Louisiana Department of Health … until finally, he stopped.
I think we can all take this as a win. A BIG WIN! It took a huge effort on the part of Landry, who never gave up, Louisiana for Medical Freedom and Rep. Kathy Edmonston who have continued in this fight to stop the mandates and frankly, so many of us.
Children’s Health Defense and its chairman and chief legal counsel, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., also worked behind the scenes to make this happen. Thank you, everyone. One step, one state, one nation — medical freedom. Medical freedom is just part of being free. Freedom for all was what this great nation was founded on. Never forget.

I am adding a short daily prayer to the board. I would invite each of you, if you wish, to also add one or maybe two of your own liking. I do not want to stifle anyone but please limit yourself to one or two religious postings. here’s one I found that I liked.

i’ve watched his clips–he is not firing on all cylinders. he needs to heal and then run again.
I truly believe they want him in so he can then resign and they can place someone in that spot that would not have passed the voters at all
