Today would have been Valerie Harper’s birthday. She was born August 22, 1939 and passed away August 30, 2019. Rhoda was a great show and Valerie Harper made me laugh. TV Guide had the following biography about the talented actress.

I loved her too! Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda, and then briefly on Two Broke Girls. She wore a hat on the last one all the time and in one show–she claimed it was because she was going a little bald under there–pointing to the hat.

Every August-September there was always tons of facebook posts showing the kids dressed for school and the moms saying…I can’t believe my “baby” is starting 6th grade, next year it’s I can’t believe …for 7th grade and so on.

The aircraft reportedly continued flying without any obvious dramatic change in altitude or speed, so there is no confirmed indication of a catastrophic failure. The exact reason for the emergency remains unknown.

Jessica Bowie, 35, from Albany, allegedly planned to place the bomb in a DoorDash food delivery bag, and she had cased the Capitol building for weeks, taking photos from various vantage points, according to a criminal complaint.

Just The News: “Turning Point USA announced Friday it will host a memorial for its late founder Charlie Kirk next month at Utah Valley University, where Kirk was assassinated last year. Kirk was fatally shot during a rally at the university on Sept. 10. His wife, Erika Kirk, who succeeded Charlie as the CEO of the organization, has since attempted to honor her late-husband’s legacy.
Turning Point USA said the event, which will take place on the one-year anniversary, will feature Glenn Beck and Frank Turek, among others. The event will be held at the UCCU Center. “Join us at the UCCU Center on the campus of Utah Valley University as we gather to remember Charlie Kirk, honor his extraordinary life, and reflect on the lasting legacy that he left behind,” the organization said.
The university said classes on the campus will be canceled on Sept. 10 to honor Kirk, and the school will be closed for a “day of service.”

Just The News: “President Donald Trump told his supporters in a speech Friday night to pretend that his name is on the ballot in the November midterms and vote for his candidates in the election.
Trump commented on the turnout at the rally, which he claimed had over 1,000 people still waiting outside, and said although he is not running in November, he’s supporting South Carolina Sen. Darline Graham and needs to get her elected.
“The problem that we have is they say ‘Trump does great when he’s on the ballot, but when he’s not on the ballot, his people don’t come and they don’t vote for senators, congressmen or other Republicans,'” Trump said.
“So what I really want you to do is pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot,” he continued. “Just come and vote. It’s so important. Just say that I’m on the ballot one more time.”
Trump warned that if Republicans lose the general election, then all the progress his administration has made will be undone, including tax cuts and a closed border. He also warned he would be impeached.
“These are lunatics,” he said. “These are people that are vicious, violent, that weaponize the justice system, and want to destroy our country. They want to see our country fail. You have to get out and vote in the midterms.”

IMO, she was, indeed, way overmedicated and IDK why there were soooo many different doctors involved! That is always bad news, IMO – the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. I think this was a result of gross medical malpractice at a minimum then add in any issues from her personal life/relationship with hubby.
The Federalist: “The Lindsay Clancy murder trial seems to be an open and shut case. Her attorney freely admits that she did indeed strangle her three children to death. That should be it, right? She’s found guilty after a short trial and sent to prison (although she deserves far worse).
Yet this case has become an internet firestorm. TikTok-addicted women, itching for the chance to be the amateur sleuth who breaks open the case like in their favorite true crime podcasts, have spun all kinds of conspiracies trying to exonerate Clancy.
They’ve come up with a range of bizarre theories that ignore the plain facts of the case, from the classic “her husband did it and gaslit her” to the theory that she’s the victim of a deliberate scheme concocted by a cabal of nefarious doctors. Even the queen of conspiracy-mongering herself, Candace Owens, has come out in defense of Clancy, declaring her “obviously not guilty.”
What’s more, many women have taken to social media to sympathize with Clancy. Videos showing women breaking down because of the hardship of raising young children with the text “Same, Lindsay” or throwing ice into the bathtub to vent pent-up rage have gone viral over the last week. A group of women have even gathered outside the courtroom to show support for Clancy, with some even bringing their children.
This apparent uptick in psychopathic empathy (we’ve also seen it on issues such as illegal immigration, abortion, etc.) points to a very disturbing and seemingly baffling phenomenon in our society. But it’s the natural outcome of the U.S. mental health crisis, especially among young leftist women. In fact, a single graph can explain the entire Lindsay Clancy defender dynamic.
You’re reading that headline right. More than half of all leftist white women younger than 30 have been told at some point by a medical provider that they have a mental health issue, according to a Pew American Trends Panel conducted in 2020.
It’s not much better for those older than 30, either. Nearly 40 percent of illiberal white women between 30 and 49 have been told the same thing, while more than a quarter of leftist white women between 50 and 64 have. Now, compare that to 27 percent of conservative white women and 28 percent of “moderate” white women younger than 30 who have been told they have a mental health issue.
Keep in mind, that research was conducted in March 2020, before the Covid lockdwns melted so many people’s brains and exacerbated Americans’ mental health issues. We can only speculate how how those percentages are now, six years later. In fact, the support for Clancy may provide a suitable proxy.
Remember that young women are by far the farthest-left group in the country, and the picture begins to become clearer. A whole cohort of women in our society are afflicted by mental health issues at a much higher rate than the rest of the population. They’ve become twisted up in tribalistic leftist politics that absolve them of any accountability and convinces them their neuroses are, in fact, virtues. Their toxic empathy causes them to defend a whole host of actually evil causes, including the case of a mother who strangled her children.
One argument by Clancy’s defenders — it’s also her legal defense — is that she was over-medicated to the point of negligence by her doctors, which caused a psychosis that led to her killing her children. Despite what Clancy’s defenders say, this does not free her from culpability, but there is a kernel of truth to this point.
In tandem with the rise of mental issues, the prescription of antidepressants has become a plague unto itself in America. One study found the nearly 28 percent of women had an antidepressant prescription, compared to 13.5 percent of men. The American Psychological Association reported that antidepressant usage among young women increased 63.5 percent from March 2020 to December 2022. Antidepressant use for young men did not increase or decrease between the two time periods.
The Clancy murder trial represents just one outlet for the growing mental crisis, especially among young women, in our country. Perhaps more disturbing than the phenomenon itself or its growing political and cultural power is the lack of a ready and obvious solution. Without one, we can expect to see more cases like Clancy’s and more deranged responses to those cases.”

you make choices, you have to live with them. Stop looking outside yourself to find happiness. be happy with yourself first and if you’re not, try to discover why.

my mom’s mom committed suicide after having 3 kids. I think it was post partum depression. But she didn’t kill the children. she killed herself.

Two patients are paralyzed, and one is on a ventilator at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital after they were given the wrong medication prior to surgery. The four patients were reportedly given potassium instead of an anesthetic. The dangerous mix-up happened at the hospital’s in-house pharmacy. Too much potassium administered too quickly can stop a person’s heart, CBS reported.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations is now involved in the case. The hospital said they were “sorry” for injecting the patients with too much potassium.
“Our hearts remain entirely with the four patients and families impacted by the recent event at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown,” the hospital said. “On behalf of our leadership and care teams, we extend our deepest apologies for the harm caused.”

I just went in the “back room” (my sewing room, hubby’s work space, and the spare bed) and a moth on the screen on the window. it’s larger than an apple!!! I went outside to see if i could get a pix, but the sun is hitting that side and i can’t see it clearly. it’s got a pattern on it.

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, retired Judge Michael Chitty denied a motion for a new trial for Karmelo Anthony, the 19-year-old convicted of murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf.
Anthony was previously sentenced to 35 years in prison following a June 2026 conviction for the fatal stabbing at a Frisco high school track meet.
Judge Chitty’s order stated that after reviewing the motion, record, evidence, arguments, briefs, and relevant case law, the court determined the motion should be denied. This decision concludes this phase of post-conviction proceedings in Collin County.

It’s toasty out there! 91 on the thermometer but at least I was mostly in the shade, trimming the willow tree. Those suckers almost knock me off the mower if I’m not careful and don’t keep it trimmed. Hopefully, it will be mid-80’s or less by 7-7:30 so I can go out and mow w/out sweating my ass off! LOL
