Save this one for your most ambitious crafters – because the results are absolutely extraordinary. Folded ribbon and fabric triangles pinned one by one onto a styrofoam egg creates a dazzling, almost jewel-like Easter decoration that genuinely looks like a professional display piece. It’s meditative, satisfying, and completely addictive once you get the rhythm going.
What You’ll Need:
Styrofoam egg shapes (available at craft stores in multiple sizes)
Ribbon and fabric scraps in two or three coordinating colors per egg
Straight pins (lots of them – get the glass-head kind for easier handling)
Scissors
Optional: a large decorative ribbon bow for the top of the finished egg
How to Make It:
Cut your ribbon and fabric into squares – roughly 2 inches square works well for a standard-sized styrofoam egg.
Fold one square in half diagonally to make a triangle. Fold it in half diagonally again to make a smaller triangle – you now have a folded “petal” shape with a pointed tip and a folded edge.
Hold the folded triangle with the pointed tip facing toward the bottom of the egg, and use a straight pin to pin it securely to the styrofoam egg, pushing the pin through the two folded layers at the base of the triangle.
Repeat this process with the next square, positioning it so it slightly overlaps the first triangle. Pin it in place.
Continue working in rows around the egg, overlapping each triangle to cover the pins of the previous row. The goal is to cover the entire styrofoam surface so no white egg is visible.
Alternate between your two or three fabric/ribbon colors in a regular pattern as you go – this creates the beautiful quilt-like visual effect.
Once the egg is fully covered, add a decorative bow at the top pinned in place as a finishing flourish.
Pro Tip: Start at the bottom point of the egg and work your way upward in rings – this makes it much easier to keep your rows even. Using ribbon with a slight sheen (like satin ribbon) alternated with a coordinating patterned fabric creates the most stunning color and texture contrast. These eggs look spectacular arranged in a bowl or Easter basket as a centerpiece!

The House Ethics Committee has found a Democratic congresswoman committed numerous violations of House rules and ethics standards over $5m in allegedly stolen taxpayer funds.
Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick of Florida is fighting for survival over allegations she used millions her family’s health care company received during the COVID–19 pandemic to fuel her political campaign.
It’s a ruling that could add weight to Republicans’ push to expel her from Congress.
After meeting for over seven hours Thursday night, an ethics panel composed of four Democrats and four Republicans found Cherfilus-McCormick committed 25 ethics violations. The panel said Friday it would recommend a punishment in the coming weeks.
The congresswoman, along with a handful of co-conspirators is accused of steering money that came into a family health-care company she ran with her brother, Edwin Cherfilus, into her campaign coffers through ‘straw donations.’
Cherfilus-McCormick was indicted by a federal grand jury in Miami in November.
The indictment from Cherfilus–McCormick’s case said she purchased a 3.14–carat ‘Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond’ ring from a New York jeweler for $109,000, per CBS12. The congresswoman’s official house portrait appears to show a similar piece of jewelry adorning her finger.
Cherfilus-McCormick faces up to 53 years in prison if convicted.

In Part II of Cash for Ballots, series hidden camera footage shows petition circulators paying homeless individuals $2–$3 per form to sign ballot petitions using the names and addresses of real registered voters and forging their signatures. Circulators provided printed lists of voters, assigned identities, and directed the homeless individuals exactly what to write, monitoring them to ensure the information matched so the circulators get paid.

The conduct captured appears to violate multiple California felony statutes, including Elections Code §18613 (signing another person’s name to a petition), Penal Code §470 (forgery), Elections Code §18601–18602 (paying for petition signatures), and Penal Code §470 (forging signatures).
The OMG team and Cam Higby visited addresses tied to the voters’ names being used. One resident said the named voter had not lived at the address for nearly a decade, yet election mail was still being delivered.

Florida’s attorney general is challenging the Rooney Rule and calling on the NFL to suspend it or face possible civil rights action.
James Uthmeier sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday to express concern that the Rooney Rule — which requires teams to interview external minority candidates for specific positions — is “blatant race and sex discrimination” and that hiring decisions should be based on merit only.
“NFL fans in Florida don’t care what color their coach’s skin is,” Uthmeier wrote. “They care what colors their coach is wearing — and that those colors are winning on the football field.
“The Rooney Rule and its offshoots are illegal in Florida.”
The NFL acknowledged receiving the letter and that the league is reviewing its contents.
“We believe our policies are consistent with the law and reflect our commitment to fairness, opportunity, and building the strongest possible teams,” NFL executive vice president Jeff Miller said.
Uthmeier said in a video posted to X on Wednesday that the rule “violates Florida law by requiring race-based considerations in hiring.” In the letter, Uthmeier asked Goodell to “confirm no later than May 1, 2026, that the NFL will no longer enforce the Rooney Rule or any variation or extension thereof — which requires consideration of race, sex, or any other prohibited classification — on teams in Florida. Failure to provide such confirmation may result in a civil rights enforcement action.”

10 Million theft ring from Home Depots. one alleged leader–a store owner.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Surveillance video captured thieves pocketing merchandise inside a Home Depot in California – part of a group investigators say is linked to more than $10 million in stolen merchandise.
That includes arrests made right here metro Atlanta, Channel 2’s Michael Seiden reports.
Investigators say this operation stretched across the country with millions in stolen goods.
The man caught on surveillance stuffed his jacket with electrical breakers, each one worth about $100. During the same visit, he used a long pole to pull down boxes of electrical equipment from high shelves.
When those items are locked up, authorities say he just climbs the racks to get to them.
Investigators say this wasn’t just one brazen theft. They believe this was part of the largest organized retail theft operation targeting Home Depot in the company’s history.
Right now, four suspects are all behind bars in Cobb County after police say they hit more than two dozen stores.
The arrests began last spring when authorities in California busted the alleged head of the operation, a store owner.
Sheriff Jim Fryhoff, Ventura County, Calif., said his crews of thieves, known as boosters, would steal merchandise from Home Depot stores.
“He would then sell those items at a reduced price to contractors and other electrical businesses,” the sheriff said.
Criminologists who study organize retail theft rings say it’s not uncommon for these types of theft rings to expand into new areas.
“You’re going to exhaust some of the ones around you. You may not want to steal from the stores that are closest to you because people might recognize you,” said Dr. Read Hayes, University of Florida criminologist.

Working with an offshore call center located in the Philippines, Smith and his co-conspirators peddled medically unnecessary orthotic braces, foot baths, and genetic tests to Medicare beneficiaries nationwide. In audio recordings presented at trial, Smith was heard pressuring beneficiaries to accept these products even after the beneficiaries protested that they did not need or want them.
Smith obtained doctors’ orders for these products by allegedly paying kickbacks and bribes to illegitimate telemedicine companies. He then sold these doctors’ orders to other medical suppliers that he knew used them to submit false and fraudulent claims to Medicare. ”

I never had a problem in VA – there is none near me here – Menards is the most popular & biggest hardware store in Norfolk. I bought most of the stuff for my renovation there. I did spread the wealth, tho, and bought the cupboards from a different store. There are a couple of other non-chain hardware stores – the Ace Hardware store closed last year.

there is a small building supply company in the small town over, but dang their prices are so far over the top for the same products…like Anderson doors. If it had been close, we’d have gone with the local company but it was 30% more at the local place.

In 1975, the embedded, communist democrat / RINOs in the Senate put in the current, unconstitutional “filibuster rule” that allowed the communist democrat / RINOs to stop any changes to the election processes that allowed them to steal national and local elections. The unconstitutional rule requires 60 votes in the senate to eliminate the filibuster.
Because the republicans hold such a slim majority in the senate ……. a result of the mass election fraud (?) ……… the communist democrat / RINOs think they have set up the system to stop President Trump from eliminating the massive election fraud for the mid-term elections….. yup, they’ve got him this time, for sure, you can take it to the bank.

Just The News: “U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday the war with Iran will last for about two to four more weeks, according to a report from Axios. His comments were reportedly made before G7 foreign ministers. He later told the press that the war would last for “weeks, not months.”
Rubio said that he does not think the U.S. will need “any ground troops” in Iran. “We are ahead of schedule on most of them [objectives], and we can achieve them without any ground troops, without any,” Rubio said.”

In April 2024, 165 Democrats voted for a foreign aid package brought to the floor by Republican Speaker Mike Johnson. The measure included $26 billion more for Israel, $61 billion more for Ukraine and around $10 billion for Taiwan. 151 Republicans voted to support the aid bill.
There is almost $100 billion in total foreign aid and approximately $0 to secure the southern U.S. border.
This is a “Republican” bill, that passed with Democrats, not Republicans. The ideological UniParty is very real in Washington DC, and this vote was entirely against the wishes of most Americans.

It’s really not just Mike Johnson, the root of the issue is much deeper than just corrupt and detached Republican leadership. The issue extends to every aspect of life and politics in Washington DC. Every member is participating in a process to give money to other countries, regardless of whether the American voter wants that to happen or not.
There is a complete collapse of the governmental structure of the United States as it pertains to representative government. The concept of representative government is completely gone, not even considered any longer amid the professional political class from both wings of the UniParty vulture.
I have no idea how this structural collapse can be fixed. There doesn’t seem to be any entity willing to stop the nonsense as it relates to financial systems and U.S. foreign aid.
We are in an abusive relationship with our government. There really is no other way to look at it.
