      1. Good Morning Gina!
We’ve got a light layer of ice on the pond this morning, but nothing that lasted on the ground.
I noticed this morning, the aspen trees are budding and some of the ash, but the rest aren’t.
and I did notice buds on the fruit trees, but it’ll be a while till they really get started. I hope this cold snap (after the unusual warm spell) won’t kill them!

    HOLY CRAP!

HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars in Medicare fraud was just uncovered by Fox in California 76,000 CLAIMS worth $600 MILLION was billed to taxpayers under ONE 87-year-old doctor’s name

SEVERAL hospice centers are listed under the one doctor’s name in the Los Angeles area, but the doctor doesn’t even LIVE IN THE STATE.

He lives in LAS VEGAS. The amount of fraud is absolutely MINDBLOWING, and the politicians who enable it need to start being CHARGED.

    Gavin Newsom is a FAILURE.

  3. Illinois Democrat gets ousted out of office (after corruption) and begins running an election campaign again in a new state (Georgia) AS A REPUBLICAN! I give you Tiffany (gold microphone) Henyard

    FTA

A quick recap on Henyard’s scandal-ridden political tenure:

    • In February 2024, a journalistic investigation revealed Henyard had used the city credit to rack up tens of thousands of dollars of debt to fund lavish spending, which included things like first-class airfare for trips across the country and 5-star hotel stays; she’d been facing serious backlash before the facts came out.
    • At some point early on as mayor, Henyard bought herself a gaudy golden microphone (using taxpayer dollars I wonder?) to address voters and audiences—Dolton’s median income is $24,000 per year by the way.
    • Some time after that, Henyard was accused of using the police force like a crew of henchmen to harass and intimidate anyone who dared to speak against her.
    • By August of that year, the city froze her administration’s access to the credit card, saying the “spending frenzy” was over.

(For context, Henyard’s annual salary alone was almost $300,000.)

Henyard seemingly did the impossible, out-corrupting Democrat-run Illinois and by February 2025, she was out of office after losing in a primary against another candidate. Seriously, how corrupt do you have to be to be run out of a place like the notoriously corrupt Illinois?

Anyway, like Arnold, she’s back, this time running as a Republican, settling down in…where else, but Fani Willis’s neck of the woods. Henyard took a calculated risk, hoping that her wildly disreputable reign wouldn’t be a stumbling block to a new disreputable reign—and I suspect she’s not wrong. In a place that elected Willis, and has thus far declined to oust her, I think Henyard could very well have a political future.

Unless the United States is a) providing IDs free of charge or somehow compensating people for them; and b) providing transportation to places that provide said IDs, this is voter suppression.

Do you support voter suppression? Maybe just for some groups.

You should be cheering those Republicans who are trying to prevent this from passing – the SAVE Act is going to negatively impact more Republicans than Democrats.

And guess what? It won’t stop the beating Republicans will be getting in the Fall, either. They need to get a generational beat-down in order to clean the party up.

  7. Just The News: “NASA announced Thursday that it plans to launch four astronauts on a 10-day mission around the moon as early as April 1. The space agency said it has several launch opportunities between April 1 and April 6 and has another chance on April 30 if needed. It declined to offer additional launch availabilities beyond April if there are any further delays, per NBC News.

The four-person crew will consist of commander Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

The launch will be part of its Artemis II mission, which is part of the larger Artemis project that seeks to return humans to the moon. NASA is expected to attempt a lunar landing in 2028 with Artemis IV.

Lori Glaze, acting associate administrator of NASA’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, said teams are expected to roll the Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft back to the launch pad for rehearsal next week.

“Everything is going pretty well,” Glaze said at a news briefing. “Just a reminder to everybody, we talk about it every time we talk about this flight, it’s a test flight, and it is not without risk. But our team and our hardware are ready.”

NASA had hoped to launch the mission and its crew in early February, but experienced a handful of setbacks recently, including hydrogen fuel leaks.  Liftoff is now scheduled for 6:24 p.m. Eastern on April 1 if there are no further delays, and comes after NASA officials completed a two-day flight readiness review.”

  8. This is outright BS, IMO! I’m betting they can find something to replace the sugar if they really want to!!!!

Just the News: “Food stamp recipients have filed a lawsuit against the Agriculture Department over agency restrictions in 22 states on candy as well as energy and sugary drinks. The suit was filed Wednesday in federal court in Washington, D.C., by a private firm and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, which advocates for low-income people, on behalf of five plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs argue the restrictions “destabilize food access” for participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAPS, in the states in which the USDA has approved the “food restriction” waivers, according to Reuters.

The plaintiffs live in Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee and West Virginia, and said that either they or family members rely on the restricted foods to manage health conditions such as diabetes and allergies, or to obtain energy boosts to conduct their daily lives.

According to the lawsuit, the waivers cause confusion at the checkout line and irreparable harm by forcing the plaintiffs to choose between spending cash on restricted items or forgoing spending money on rent and transportation.

The Tennessee plaintiff, Amanda Johnson of Knoxville, claims that letting her state’s waiver take effect would restrict her autistic 19-year-old daughter to only three “safe” foods and beverages because of a serious eating disorder. She said that her daughter’s other six safe foods, including M&M’s and Welch’s fruit punch, would not be covered by SNAP.

The lawsuit alleges that the USDA exceeded its legal authority by approving the states’ waivers without conducting “reasoned decision-making,” and seeks to void the waivers.

A USDA spokesperson declined to comment to Reuters due to pending litigation.”

    1. admittedly I do not understand how food affects autism but I do know about diabetes. when i was originally diagnosed and before i learned HOW to eat correctly, I bought glucose tablets–very cheap–and you took ONE to raise your blood sugar if it was too low. you didn’t eat them like candy.

they were safe and if you needed another, you took one…but eating candy and drinking sugary drinks leads to spikes and that’s not healthy. eating candy and drinking sugary drinks is easier than learning to cook for a diabetic or teaching a diabetic HOW to cook for and eat properly.

  9. Just The News: “There were two apparent terrorist attacks on Thursday, one in Virginia at Old Dominion College and one in Mi chigan at a large Reform synagogue.

Both alleged terrorists were killed in the process. In Virginia, it was by members of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), whose classroom he attacked, killing one and injuring two more. People in the class “subdued” the man, originally from Sierra Leone, who had been released early, in December 2024, after being sentenced in 2016 to 11 years in prison for providing material support to ISIS.

In Michigan, the alleged terrorist, who was born in Lebanon, drove his vehicle into a synagogue, where he was later found dead after security saw and engaged the suspect in gunfire.

Multiple law enforcement officials told the media outlet that emergency responders found what appeared to be a large amount of explosives in the back of the vehicle.

  11. “‘Round River’ FBI Op Was A Deep State Conspiracy To Thwart Investigation Into Biden Family Corruption — The scandal is no longer about the Biden family, but about the FBI agents and DOJ employees responsible for conspiring to thwart the investigation into the former president.”

The Federalist, By: Margot Cleveland, March 13, 2026

    Joe Biden

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The U.S. attorney tasked in 2020 by Attorney General William Barr with vetting evidence related to the Biden family and Ukrainian corruption knew nothing about the recently revealed “Round River” FBI operation launched to neutralize all negative information and allegations of Biden family corruption.

That secret operation not only left the Pittsburgh-based U.S. attorney unaware of potentially relevant information, it also buried scores of derogatory allegations about the Biden family in the FBI’s prohibited access files, preventing them from being accessed by any other FBI officials.

Early this week, news broke that FBI agents had recently discovered “the opening memo and files” for an investigation branded Round River, which targeted individuals who shared or distributed allegations against the Biden family, and was also run out of the Pittsburgh office.

According to Just the News, “The files also show the bureau may have targeted the Pittsburgh office as the launching point to impede an effort by then-Attorney General Bill Barr to ask his federal prosecution team in the same city to investigate why an FBI informant report alleging Biden family corruption was not fully investigated when it first came in.”

However, then-Attorney General Bill Barr’s request to federal prosecutors in the Western District of Pennsylvania was broader. In January 2020, Barr tapped then-U.S. Attorney Scott Brady to vet evidence related to Ukrainian corruption and the Biden family. As Brady would later testify in a closed-door hearing of the House Judiciary Committee, that included information provided by Giuliani, as well as other members of the public.

As part of that investigation, Brady tasked agents with running searches in FBI databases for various terms related to the alleged Ukrainian corruption, such as “Burisma” or “Biden.” The Pittsburgh-based U.S. attorney also worked with the E.D. of New York’s office to run the information against the latter office’s holdings of known sources of disinformation.

But as Brady told The Federalist, he had no idea that at the same time he was vetting information provided by Giuliani, per Barr’s directive, the Pittsburgh field office was running the Round River investigation.

Nor could Brady and his team have discovered the existence of Round River because, as reported earlier this week, that investigation was designated “prohibited access,” which rendered the files invisible to agents searching the FBI databases. The former U.S. attorney also didn’t know that any such invisible files might exist because, as The Federalist previously reported, neither Brady nor senior DOJ officials knew “the FBI’s Sentinel case management system had a stealth feature to render files invisible during search queries. Nor did anyone from FBI headquarters reference the existence of such ‘Prohibited Access’ files during discussions over access to relevant material related to Burisma and Hunter Biden.”

While Round River was technically a Pittsburgh-based investigation, prior press releases issued by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, suggest that FBI Headquarters had firm hold of the tiller. Based on whistleblowers’ statements, Grassley explained in a press release that it was alleged that “in August 2020, FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten opened an assessment which was used by a FBI Headquarters (‘FBI HQ’) team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease.”

Grassley would later reveal in a subsequent press release that the Foreign Influence Task Force, or FITF, used the investigation Auten opened “to seek out CHS holdings at FBI Field Offices across the country relating to the Biden family and falsely discredit them as foreign disinformation.” And given “that at one point in time the FBI maintained over 40 Confidential Human Sources that provided criminal information relating to Joe Biden, James Biden, and Hunter Biden,” the breadth of this conspiracy is truly shocking. Sources familiar with Round River similarly told The Federalist that the investigation sought to scuttle any investigative leads into Biden family corruption by discrediting it as Russia disinformation.

Just the New also reported that sources maintained that the conspiracy extended beyond protecting the Biden family from potential criminal charges and “expanded to look at numerous public figures who spoke out about Biden family corruption concerns.” According to those sources, “reporters, lawmakers, moviemakers and lawyers who made certain allegations or raised questions about the Bidens’ dealings in Ukraine may have been assessed to be national security threats aligned with Russia worthy of investigation and treated as purveyors of disinformation interfering in elections …”

If these sources are accurate, the scandal surrounding Round River is exponentially greater, for it would mean that the FBI used investigative resources to target the speech of both public figures and private Americans, including members of the press. And an even more appalling possibility exists given that during this timeframe, members of the Foreign Influence Task Force were regularly communicating with Twitter about supposed foreign disinformation, prompting the social media company to censor speech about Biden family corruption.

The scandal, however, is no longer about the Biden family, but about the FBI agents and DOJ employees responsible for conspiring to thwart the investigation into the former president and his family and to abridge the free speech rights of Americans. The breadth and depth of that conspiracy, as well as the players, remains to be seen, with the details either still classified or still hidden by virtue of prohibited access.

Yet, the days of waiting for justice may be nearing an end, as the last few months have seen FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi providing Grassley the declassified files he has been demanding for nearly a decade.”

  12. Does hubby like Formula One, Pat? I’ve never been a fan myself. But they sure know how to kick themselves in the ass and ruin things!

“Formula One’s Energy-Efficient Engines Turn Race Day Into A Snoozefest —- How Formula One responds to this ‘hybrid crisis’ could determine whether it accelerates, gets stuck in neutral, or heads into reverse.”

The Federalist, By: Christopher Jacobs, March 13, 2026

Formula One race cars on a track

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Mere months after a three-way championship fight went down to the last race of the season, Formula One ended up criticized by drivers and fans following the first race of the 2026 campaign. And it didn’t take much effort to figure out why.

A new energy-efficient engine package, designed with a 50-50 balance between combustion power and electrical energy, turned much of the Australian Grand Prix into a game of “leapfrog” among cars, with competitors passing each other based solely on their electrical energy levels rather than any mechanical advantage or even driver skill. The spectacle brought to mind the old John Wooden quote, “Never mistake activity for achievement.” In Formula One’s case, the “race” provided much of the former but less of the latter.

    ‘Mario Kart’ Racing

Before continuing, a disclosure: This racing observer did not watch the grand prix in question. Because Apple TV won the rights to broadcast Formula One beginning this season, I decided not to play the game sports leagues want fans to play and rush to buy a(nother) streaming service when the league sells its rights to a new one. That said, most reports coming from Albert Park suggest those who did sign up for Apple TV to access Formula One coverage saw their money less-than-well spent.

The weekend saw many bizarre developments, from the Aston Martin team disclosing that their car vibrates so much that their drivers, in the words of ESPN, “risked permanent nerve damage if they drove too long,” to wing mirrors falling off cars from the new Cadillac team mid-race. But by far the weekend’s biggest topic came due to the change in the engine regulations.

As this video from a simulated qualifying run illustrates, the new hybrid engine package means that when the engine loses battery power, it will automatically slow — even while the driver keeps his foot at “full throttle” — so the battery can recharge. The result: cars slowing dramatically, even on the straightaways.

By contrast, when drivers deployed that additional energy via overtake and boost mode buttons, they said it was “like the mushroom in Mario Kart.” The result was contrived “racing,” whereby a driver would deploy energy, pass another car, lose energy, and get passed back. A lot of activity — very little of it controlled by the driver — with not much achievement.

    Frustrated Drivers

One reporter opined that Saturday’s qualifying session “fell flatter than even the most pessimistic critics had feared.” Mercedes took both spots on the front row, with polesitter George Russell almost one second faster than the third-place car — a margin nearly unheard of for Formula One. Russell won the race going away, as teams in the paddock question whether his Mercedes team has a distinct engine-related advantage.

While Formula One’s CEO had asked drivers not to criticize the new cars, the weekend in Australia threw that thought out the window. Four-time world champion Max Verstappen was asked if he would retire from Formula One, and he did not explicitly deny what would be a hammer blow to the sport. Driver Carlos Sainz said, “[N]o one is happy,” and that “this 50-50 hybrid [engine] system is giving us a lot of headaches.”

Lando Norris, who beat Verstappen in December to capture last season’s crown, made another relevant and scary point. With differences in energy status (e.g., harvesting versus deployment) resulting in major speed differentials:

[W]e are going to have a big accident. … Depending on what drivers do, you can have closing speeds of [over 30 miles per hour] … and when someone hits another driver at that speed, you are going to fly and go over the [catch] fence and do a lot of damage to yourself and maybe to others [i.e., fans] and that is a pretty horrible thing to think about.

    Unnecessary Mistake

In addition to lamenting the general poor quality of the racing, some observers on Twitter made the point that Formula One could yet have achieved some of the energy-efficiency goals it sought by changing cars’ fuel rather than their engines. Say what you will about ethanol, but at least it doesn’t result in cars suddenly slowing on a race course straightaway.

Whether due to manufacturers’ stubbornness — the hybrid elements apparently helped convinced Audi to join Formula One for the first time — a desire to appease the climate lobby, or a combination of the two, the series stuck with its hybrid engine plans and now has a royal mess on its hands. After finally breaking through in the American market over the past several years, how the series responds to this “hybrid crisis” could determine whether Formula One accelerates, gets stuck in neutral, or heads into reverse.”

I am sure it will be the last time he will ever see her, and may be the same for me. I played on his sympathy, painting the picture of 3 old ladies trying to load the truck! LOL – I also pledged to be indebted to Courtney, his GF, for letting him help when he had promised to do some work at home. With all of us working, it should only take about an hour or so.

  14. “They call it ‘mountaineering’… I call it ‘an accident waiting to happen’…

Sure looks like a lot of fun to me. This is a video of a guy who suddenly lost his footing and tumbles ass-over-tea kettle uncontrollably down a snowy mountainside. It shows the climber hurtling down a near 45-degree incline, tumbling over and over again. Fellow climbers can do nothing but watch in horror as the man eventually comes to a halt in a pile of snow at the bottom.

The dramatic fall took place during a dangerous ascent of Mount Rysy. Reaching a height of up to 8,200 ft., it is the highest peak in Poland’s section of the Tatra Mountains. Moments before the accident, a fellow climber who witnessed the incident said the man placed his foot in the wrong spot, instantly losing his balance.

With little grip on the frozen slope, he began sliding down the narrow gully with no way of stopping himself. Remarkably, despite the violent descent, the man escaped with no serious injuries. According to reports, the only injury he suffered was damage to his little finger. In the aftermath of the fall, the injured tourist was checked over by one of his companions, who happened to be a doctor.

Right place, right time I guess…”

If this is true, and I’m not sure it is, it is a watershed moment in his political future. It would show he has the same leadership potential as President Trump. 19. “swinging dicks” in a judicial opinion? hold on to your…hats.

    article
A federal judge described a man’s bid to gain entry to a women-only nude spa as a case about “swinging dicks” in his Thursday dissent.
Ninth Circuit Judge Lawrence VanDyke, a Trump appointee, chided his colleagues for being more disturbed by his word choice than their own decision to force a Christian-owned, traditional Korean spa to welcome a man under Washington’s anti-discrimination law.
“You may think that swinging dicks shouldn’t appear in a judicial opinion,” VanDyke wrote. “You’re not wrong. But as much as you might understandably be shocked and displeased to merely encounter that phrase in this opinion, I hope we all can agree that it is far more jarring for the unsuspecting and exposed women at Olympus Spa— some as young as thirteen—to be visually assaulted by the real thing.”
In 2020, a man filed a complaint with Washington’s Human Rights Commission after Olympus Spa declined to offer him services due to a policy that “transgender women without surgery are not welcome because it could make other customers and staff uncomfortable.”
The Ninth Circuit upheld a decision finding the spa cannot refuse service to clients with male genitalia under the state’s anti-discrimination law, noting the statute does not “impermissibly burden the Spa’s First Amendment rights to free speech, free exercise, or free association.”
VanDyke accused the “woke judges” on the court of “selective outrage” over his language, explaining, “‘dignified and civil’ words are employed to mask a legal abomination.”
“Or, to put it in vernacular perhaps more palatable to my colleagues’ Victorian sensibilities: ‘In law, what plea so tainted and corrupt, / But, being seasoned with a gracious voice, / Obscures the show of evil?” VanDyke wrote, citing Shakespeare.
“The panel majority uses slick legal arguments and deflection to studiously avoid eye contact with the actual and horrific consequences of its erroneous opinion,” he wrote. “The ‘ordinary Americans’ affected by the majority’s opinion don’t have that luxury. Squirm as we might, I think it’s only fair for our court to have a small taste of its own medicine.”
In March 2025, some of Van Dyke’s colleagues also bristled when he published a video dissent to demonstrate their position in a Second Amendment case was “factual fantasy.” Using personal shooting equipment, VanDyke recorded himself giving a firearms demo in his chambers, explaining that “even a caveman with just a video recorder and a firearm” could show the majority’s error.
VanDyke was among 20 potential Supreme Court nominees President Donald Trump included in a September 2020 list.

  20. Just The News: “U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ruled in court documents unsealed Friday that the Justice Department cannot subpoena Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, stating it was using the subpoenas as a tactic to pressure Powell into lowering interest rates.

The Justice Department issued the grand jury subpoenas as part of a criminal investigation into Powell, which is led by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

Boasberg indicated in the ruling that Pirro’s investigation was motivated by getting Powell to follow Trump’s orders despite the Federal Reserve being an independent government agency, according to CNBC. “Did prosecutors issue those subpoenas for a proper purpose? The Court finds that they did not,” Boasberg wrote in the decision. “There is abundant evidence that the subpoenas’ dominant (if not sole) purpose is to harass and pressure Powell either to yield to the President or to resign and make way for a Fed Chair who will.

“On the other side of the scale, the Government has offered no evidence whatsoever that Powell committed any crime other than displeasing the President,” he added.

The subpoenas were part of the Justice Department’s investigation into the central bank’s multi-billion-dollar renovation of its headquarters in Washington, D.C., and Powell’s testimony on the project to the Senate Banking Committee last year.

The ruling comes after President Donald Trump nominated Kevin Warsh to replace Powell as Federal Reserve chairman after his term ends in May.

Pirro said she will appeal the decision.”
