Motto: North to the Future
Adoption of the Alaska State Motto
The United States purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867.
In 1963, as the 100-year anniversary of this purchase was approaching, a commission was formed to organize a celebration. As one of the events leading up to the celebration, the Alaska Centennial Commission sponsored a contest to come up with a centennial motto and emblem that would express the unique character of the State of Alaska. They offered a $300.00 prize to the winning entry. 761 entries were received by the Commission. In December 1963, the commission announced that they had selected Juneau newsman Richard Peter’s suggestion: North to the Future.
The Alaska Legislature officially adopted North to the Future as the official motto of Alaska in 1967, during Alaska’s Purchase Centennial celebration.
About the Alaska State Motto
The motto represents a forward-looking optimism, a state of promise. Richard Peter is quoted that the motto
“…is a reminder that beyond the horizon of urban clutter there is a Great Land beneath our flag that can provide a new tomorrow for this century’s ‘huddled masses yearning to be free.’ “
The motto also promotes the State of Alaska, advising that the future lies with the state to the north of the “lower 48”

There’s a lot of noise out there about what happened in Minneapolis today.
But what @ScottJenningsKY
just told the CNN panel cuts through ALL of it.
This isn’t about one incident. This is a dangerous pattern within modern society.
JENNINGS: “It strikes me that we are undergoing an epidemic of political vigilantism right now.”
“Why are people showing up in vehicles, in convoys, not just in Minneapolis, but all over the country in an effort to obstruct lawful federal law enforcement activities?”
“This is not an isolated incident. We’ve had hundreds of car rammings against ICE agents across the country.”
“According to DHS, this lady in this car today, along with other vehicles, had been tracking ICE agents around. Why are people believing that they can drive their car into a federal law enforcement situation, and that’s somehow appropriate?”
“I understand they don’t like the fact that these agents are enforcing existing immigration law… but that’s not how we change laws in this country.”
“If you don’t like the law, you talk to politicians. You don’t drive your car into the middle of a building or a law enforcement situation.”
“If I don’t like how much the IRS is charging me in taxes, I don’t drive my car into the Treasury Department. I call my congressman.”
“Political vigilantism is being encouraged by Democratic officials like Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, who earlier this year told people to, quote, ‘put your bodies on the line.’”
“And Governor Tim Walz has been calling these guys Gestapo all year.”
“What do you think happens when you radicalize a base of people like this?!”

Trump: “I have been informed by the Department of War that Defense Contractor, Raytheon, has been the least responsive to the needs of the Department of War, the slowest in increasing their volume, and the most aggressive spending on their Shareholders rather than the needs and demands of the United States Military. Raytheon seems to think this is the Biden Administration, and this is “business as usual,” IT’S NOT! Either Raytheon steps up, and starts investing in more upfront Investment like Plants and Equipment, or they will no longer be doing business with Department of War. Also, if Raytheon wants further business with the United States Government, under no circumstances will they be allowed to do any additional Stock Buybacks, where they have spent Tens of Billions of Dollars, until they are able to get their act together. Our Country comes FIRST, and they’re going to have to learn that, the hard way!”

calls out the Mayor & Governor’s reprehensible politics following the shooting in MN:
“What we have here is a vehicle that is legally treated as a weapon, and these officers are trained under both federal and state law to treat a car as a weapon if it is speeding toward them. You have an individual who did not comply with orders to get out of the car and, in fact, sped up toward the agent. As it stands now, this is a stronger and stronger case supporting the officer. What really concerns me is the hair trigger that we saw politically — that you really saw reprehensible conduct by the Mayor and the Governor. These officers put their lives on the line; the least you can do is allow the investigation to go forward. Instead, we saw even the Mayor of New York declaring this officer to be a murderer.”

🚨 MINNEAPOLIS PD HAVE SURRENDERED THE CITY TO ROGUE LEFTISTS
911 heard MULTIPLE DEATH THREATS directed at me by a mob, MPD pretended for 20 MINUTES that they were responding
Then they told me I was on my own, and HUNG UP
This city needs to be taken under FEDERAL CONTROL
After about two minutes on scene, my security began wanting to bring me out of there due to the immediate threats of violence.
I tried to shorten this video as much as possible but it’s tough given all the BS that unfolded.
As soon as I dialed 911, one of the leftist screamed “Minneapolis Police are on OUR side!” Turns out, he was right.
We ended up being FOLLOWED out of town, and requested backup set to arrive in a few hours.
We are NOT giving up. Leftists WILL NOT terrorize us into silence.
See you in a few hours, Minneapolis.
Stay tuned.

okay…here’s my evening last night. After supper we sat down to watch tv and i realized i still had my earrings in–i try never to sleep in them. I took them off and put them on the arm of the chair while i grabbed my water and knocked them onto the chair cushion and when i reached for them, they slid into the chair body–where apparently a lot of popcorn was living…lol
Instantly I was able to grab one while simultaneously pushing the second one into a tiny hole in the covering between layers of the chair (hope that’s not too technical…lol)
I put the retrieved one safely on the table far away from the ravenous chair (yes, if I had done that BEFORE this would be a moot point.) I removed the chair cushion and tried for the next 20 minutes to retrieve it by slipping alternating hands into the small spot. Hubby said–you probably succeeded into pushing it further into the chair. (I’m surprised the resulting look i gave him did not melt him on the spot.)
He suggested we turn the chair over, which we did but it wasn’t my purse and turning it upside down did little to dislodge anything–even the popcorn remained in place.
He offered over and over–I’ll just buy you a new pair, but these were my favorite earrings and I didn’t want to spend money–when i KNEW where the other one was!
We tried the vacuum with the skinny attachment–didn’t go in far enough.
Finally I grabbed my little toolbox and sighed…you got a staple gun, right? I asked hubby. His eyes got wide and he said yeah–what are you thinking??
I turned the chair upside down again, started pulling the staples out of the covering on the bottom of the chair, enough so i could reach my entire arm in there and I pulled out my earring with the rest of the popcorn.
Hubby then restapled the bottom covering.

EXCERPT: “Classical music ensembles across the U.S. might have to face the music on race-based hiring practices sooner rather than later after a landmark lawsuit out of Tennessee alleged the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO) discriminated against a top white musician and replaced him with a less skilled non-white musician.
In his suit, filed in late December in a Knox County, Tennessee circuit court, acclaimed clarinetist James Zimmermann seeks more than $72,000 in recouped damages over accusations that the KSO deemed him the best man for the job of principal clarinet before passing on him for a candidate he beat out on merit.
In a Jan. 5 rundown of the legal case posted to his X account, Zimmermann explained that he was invited to and “unanimously” won a blind audition for principal clarinet of the KSO in September. The victory, Zimmermann said, was especially sweet after months of “practicing like a mad man” — clocking approximately 100 rehearsal hours on his clarinet.
The renowned reedist noted, however, his high hopes of re-entering the symphony world after a five-year hiatus were quickly dashed when the KSO CEO informed him she decided “not to move forward with offering you a contract of employment.” Instead, the coveted first chair position would go to the musician Zimmermann dubbed “an obvious DEI hire who’s still in college.”
The lawsuit alleges that “they discriminated against me because of skin color and hired a non-white player, who was my runner-up in the audition,” Zimmermann explained in his Jan. 6 interview with Megyn Kelly.
A screenshot of the Sept. 18 email he reportedly received from KSO CEO Rachel Ford purports that the orchestra snubbed Zimmermann due to the nature of his exit from the Nashville Symphony in 2020. “Please know our decision is final and we will not participate in any ongoing communications related to this matter,” Ford concluded……”

Just The News: “The cash moved overseas in luggage by Somali couriers from the Minneapolis airport was 10 to 100 times larger than the total foreign exodus of money at other larger American airports the last two years, officials tell Just the News.
Homeland Security Department officials said the statistics they have gathered in recent weeks show the movement of cash out of Minnesota was substantially abnormal and should have raised red flags during the Biden administration, long before the Trump administration began investigating it as part of a major fraud scheme that stole billions from taxpayers in the state.
Just the News reported Tuesday that the Transportation Security Administration detected and flagged nearly $700 million in cash moved in luggage out of the Minneapolis airport by Somali couriers in 2024 and 2025 alone, a stunning total that averaged nearly $1 million a day.
Some of the cash moved to Amsterdam and then to Dubai, a route that has garnered concern in recent days by intelligence agencies and federal criminal investigators, officials said.
“It was like a cash ATM draining American dollars and moving them overseas, and nobody in the Biden administration seemed to think anything of it,” one official with direct knowledge told Just the News, speaking on condition of anonymity. “These couriers were openly flaunting what they’ve doing by legally declaring the cash they were taking out.”
Minneapolis travelers alone had $342.37 million in their luggage in 2024 and $349.4 million in 2025, and the totals nationwide are likely to be much higher, the officials told Just the News.
The flow of the Somali couriers’ cash out of Minneapolis was 99 percent larger than the foreign cash detected or declared in 2025 moving in luggage from the airports in Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta or John F. Kennedy International in New York City, the officials said. And it was 90% larger than the amounts that left Seattle, a major hub for Asian travelers.
Similarly, in 2024, the total currency discovered over $10,000 traveling internationally out of Atlanta and JFK was less than 1% of the currency discovered at Minneapolis. And the total in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2024 was 3% of the Minneapolis sums, while Seattle was just 6%, officials said.
Though all were legally declared according to U.S. Customs rules, the bundles of cash in luggage in Minneapolis – some as much as $1 million in a single trip – raised regular suspicions among TSA agents.
The mountain of dollars leaving the country is now being investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations unit as part of a broader probe into a multibillion-dollar fraud scheme centered around the state’s Somali immigrant community, where dozens have been charged with or convicted of federal crimes.
Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colo., told the Just the News, No Noise television show on Tuesday night that he believes the current Minnesota fraud scandal will embolden Congress to make changes to the law to give federal authorities more power to investigate the exodus of U.S. money to foreign countries, especially from illegal aliens.
“We have to do it. It’s embarrassing that Congress hasn’t done this before,” Crank said. “These are financial controls that any company would have on corporate money. Any good company would have it. The board of directors would fire them if they didn’t. I don’t know why in the world we wouldn’t have those kinds of controls.”

Just The News: “President Donald Trump is seeking to have a Georgia judge award him over $6 million in attorney fees that he incurred while defending against the criminal prosecution he faced from the indictment brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Trump was indicted in a case alleging that he headed up an unlawful conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
He is basing his case for being paid back the $6.26 million in attorney fees and related costs for his defense on a Georgia law passed in 2025 that allows criminal defendants to recover their legal expenses if the prosecutor in the case is removed for improper conduct, according to The Hill.
Willis was disqualified over an “appearance of impropriety” based on her romance with Nathan Wade, who she had hired to prosecute Trump. The case finally reached its conclusion last November when a special prosecutor who had taken over the case decided not to go forward with the charges.
The demand for the reimbursement goes to Judge Scott McAfee, who oversees the case. The state law requires him to approve it if the amount is considered “reasonable.”
“In accordance with Georgia law, President Trump has moved the Court to award reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred in his defense of the politically motivated, and now rightfully dismissed, case brought by disqualified DA Fani Willis,” said Trump’s lead attorney in the case, Steve Sadow.”

Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced plans to ban large, institutional investors from purchasing single-family homes, asserting that the practice had driven up housing costs for would-be homebuyers.
“For a very long time, buying and owning a home was considered the pinnacle of the American Dream,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “It was the reward for working hard, and doing the right thing, but now, because of the Record High Inflation caused by Joe Biden and the Democrats in Congress, that American Dream is increasingly out of reach for far too many people, especially younger Americans.”
“It is for that reason, and much more, that I am immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes, and I will be calling on Congress to codify it,” he added. “People live in homes, not corporations. I will discuss this topic, including further Housing and Affordability proposals, and more, at my speech in Davos in two weeks.”
Asset managers in particular have come under fire from young Americans and housing advocates over their purchases of single-family homes, often renting them out instead of selling them on the market.”

Just The News: “The U.S. trade deficit has been reduced to $29.4 billion, after last being reported at $48.1 billion. The forecasted deficit had been $58.1 billion, Investing.com reported. The deficit dropped by $18.7 billion, and was $28.7 billion less than the predicted figure.
The deficit is the lowest since 2009, according the news reports. The improved trade balance indicates that while the U.S. is still importing more goods and services than exporting them, the reduced deficit could strengthen the U.S. dollar.
With a stronger currency, there could be increased foreign demand for the dollar, resulting in an appreciation in its value.”

“The FBI is investigating paid protest campaigns throughout the country including organizers, protesters and funding sources that drive illicit activities,” Patel said.
His announcement came one day after a woman trying to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minneapolis struck an ICE agent with her car and was fatally shot while trying to flee arrest. Patel’s announcement follows Just the News reporting in recent days about Chinese state-run propaganda outlets promoting left-wing-leaning protests in the U.S. against the Trump administration’s capture Friday night of Venezuelan strongman President Nicolas Maduro.
The protests appear to be organized by a Chinese Communist Party-linked financial network in the United States. Media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, China Daily, China Global Television Network (CGTN), and the Global Times — all directly run by the CCP – in turn promoted the pro-Maduro protests organized by these same groups, as the Chinese government repeatedly denounced the actions taken by President Donald Trump against the close Chinese ally in Latin America.”

originally she tried to sneak it in at $1.5 million…ANYONE in congress passing EARMARKS for somalis should be publicly named and humiliated!
FTA
House appropriators plan to strike Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s $1 million earmark for a Somali-led organization from the lower chamber’s funding package Wednesday, as the presence of the carveout threatened to tank the shutdown-preventing bill.
Omar’s earmark was for Generation Hope’s “Justice Empowerment Initiative” in her district and was tucked into the Commerce, Science, and Justice minibus, which will provide funding for the Commerce, Energy, Interior, and Justice departments, in addition to other related agencies. Republican Oklahoma Rep. Tom Cole, who chairs the Appropriations Committee, told reporters he cannot allow one member’s project to derail a carefully negotiated full-year funding bill with the Jan. 30 funding deadline fast approaching.
“I can’t afford to have a million dollar project jeopardize a $184 billion package of bills,” Cole said Wednesday. “If we have an individual project that can pose a political problem, I’ve had these in the past from our side before, where we had to tell a member, ‘Look, there might be a way to do this, but our advice to you is to withdraw this.’”
Omar initially requested $1,460,877 for the program, which provides “job-specific training, computer skills development, peer support services, and access to education” as well as services to address addiction recovery and mental health needs, according to the congresswoman’s website. The earmark is also backed by Minnesota’s two senators, Democratic Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith.
Omar did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
Republican South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman, who serves on the Rules Committee, also expressed reservations toward the minibus in two Rules meetings this week, telling reporters he will vote for the bill on the House floor upon seeing a written agreement to remove the earmark for “Somali million dollars.”
Democratic Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro, the ranking member of the Appropriations Committee who had strong support for the minibus on Monday, also emphasized earmarks must not cause problems for the overall bill.
“It is under discussion and it will be resolved. That’s the way things go with these community projects. If there’s a difficulty, if there’s a problem, we try to work it out. Or it comes out,” DeLauro told Politico on Wednesday.
Democrats rebranded earmarks — which were banned under Republican leadership for more than a decade — in 2021 as “community project funding,” which still elicits ire from hardline Republicans looking to cap how much taxpayer dollars are spent on hyperlocal projects.
Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy, who sits on both the Rules Committee and the House Freedom Caucus, highlighted “currency of corruption” earmarks in the CJS package, including $1 million for a Climate Corps Fellowship in Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley‘s district, nearly $2 million for Vermont Legal Aid’s Justice Mobile program — requested by Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders — and almost $2 million for “detention center door replacement” in Republican North Carolina Rep. Addison McDowell’s district.
Roy has called various earmarks in the CJS package “nonsense” that no one he represents “wants to see their money going towards.”
“It’s ridiculous to buy votes in the currency of corruption in this town,” Roy told reporters Wednesday.
Part of the agreement to remove Omar’s earmark also involves voting on the three titles in the package — Energy-Water, Interior-Environment, and Commerce-Justice-Science — separately, allowing dissenting Republicans to vote against the CJS measure while supporting the other two. Following the vote, the three bills would be put back together in one bundle before being handed off to the Senate.
The White House on Wednesday urged Congress to pass the package of appropriations bills, applauding the decreased spending the minibus puts forward.
“If this bill were presented to the President in its current form, his senior advisors would recommend that he sign it into law.”
On its website, Generation Hope describes itself as a “Somali-led organization” that works “closely with culturally specific treatment centers to connect East African individuals with culturally responsive treatment options.” It was founded by Abdirahman Warsame and Khadar Abi in 2019.

Republicans should be ashamed of the Senators that just voted with Democrats in attempting to take away our Powers to fight and defend the United States of America. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul, Josh Hawley, and Todd Young should never be elected to office again. This Vote greatly hampers American Self Defense and National Security, impeding the President’s Authority as Commander in Chief. In any event, and despite their “stupidity,” the War Powers Act is Unconstitutional, totally violating Article II of the Constitution, as all Presidents, and their Departments of Justice, have determined before me. Nevertheless, a more important Senate Vote will be taking place next week on this very subject.

Anyone POTUS appoints they disqualify and say it’s because it’s submitting political rivals to criminal investigation. welcome to the party pal—biden did it for 4 YEARS!

A federal judge on Thursday disqualified the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York and blocked the subpoenas his office issued against New York Attorney General Letitia James.
John Sarcone III, the judge ruled, was illegally serving in the post, Politico reported. The decision from the Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield marked the latest such opinion over controversial Trump appointees to U.S. Attorney positions.
“When the Executive branch of government skirts restraints put in place by Congress and then uses that power to subject political adversaries to criminal investigations… it acts without lawful authority,” Schofield wrote.
Sarcone had pursued subpoenas against James, who famously brought a civil fraud case against President Donald Trump during the 2024 election cycle.
Other Trump-appointed U.S. attorneys have faced legal disqualification, including Alina Habba and Lindsey Halligan.

“Trump is Giving the Dems Just Enough Rope”
Clandestine, Jan 08, 2026
“The Dems/MSM are already trying to turn Minneapolis into the next George Floyd. This is what they have been waiting for. Now they are planning to unleash protests/riots across the nation, all in an attempt to prevent the exposure of their crimes.
Unfortunately for them, Trump knew this was coming, and has a plan in place. Federalized Quick Reaction Force NG are on standby in every state, and the Supreme Court essentially gave Trump the green light to invoke the Insurrection Act and send in active duty US MIL.
If the Dems want to riot and throw a fit, let them. They are walking right into a trap. They are about to give Trump the optics to justify invoking the Insurrection Act, which will allow US MIL to come in and secure cities and assist in law enforcement.
After the Dems and their brownshirts start rioting and the public see that intervention is necessary, Trump will act. Trump is giving them just enough rope…”
