DIY: Hanging Bird Feeders

Now is a good time to start thinking about the upcoming winter and our feathered friends. This DIY project was found on the craftyhacks.com website.

Supplies You’ll Need

Bowl

Small bird seeds (3/4 cup)

Unflavored gelatin

Boiling water (1/3 cup)

Teaspoon

Twine

Barbeque stick or a straw

Cookie cutters

Parchment paper

scissors

How to Make DIY Hanging Bird Feeders

Step 1. To begin, boil 1/3 of a cup of water. Then, add 4 teaspoons of gelatin to the water.

Be sure to read the instructions on your gelatin packet. Some of them may suggest that you use different water to gelatin ratios.

Follow the instructions on your packet. Then, stir the gelatin until it dissolves completely. This should take about 1-2 minutes.

Step 2. Now, place the bird seeds into a bowl. Add the gelatin/water mixture to your bowl.

Stir well and let the mixture set for a few minutes.

Step 3. Once your mixture has a dense, paste-like texture, you can move onto the next step.

Step 4. Now, it is time to form your bird feeder using the cookie cutters. To do this, place your cookie cutters onto the parchment paper.

Begin filling them with your seed mixture. Be sure to press the mixture down firmly into the cookie cutter using your fingers or a spoon.

Step 5. Next, cut your barbecue sticks into pieces. You will need one for each of your cookie cutters.

Step 6. Place a barbecue stick into each of your bird feeders to form a hole at the top for hanging. Then, place them in the refrigerator for 35-45 minutes or into the freezer for 20 minutes.

Step 7. Now, carefully remove your bird feeders from the cookie cutters.

Step 8. Cut a piece of twine for each bird feeder. Thread them through the holes.

Hang and enjoy!

    1. Good morning! What a great project for kids!!!! I’m still having to work thru some kinks with this new, fancier internet-ready TV….I may have to get DTV out here to get it set up for me.

      1. Good Morning Filly!

It is a great project for kids!

We bought a replacement dvd player a few years back, when ours seemingly was on the fritz. same make and model as the old one. then the old one started working again, so we left it in the box. A few weeks ago, it started acting up again–there was no sound on the last few episodes of a series we were watching. Hubby got out the new one and what a freaking zoo it was setting it up with the newer tv we bought years ago (but still relatively new).

Hubby finally figured it out and we tried the same disc…same problem. We thought maybe we just got a faulty one…it happens. We tried the next disc and it played fine. But the disc after that? same problem.

I went on amazon to order a new set of dvds–turns out in the reviews, loads of people were complaining about the discs for this tv show (Last Man Standing) were having the exact same trouble we were. The last few episodes on some discs had no sound. Now we don’t know where to order them from–are they all like that???

🚨 BREAKING: Secretary Bobby Kennedy DISMANTLES Pharma-bought Senator Cantwell (D) for using the vaccine industry claim that vaccines ALONE saved “hundreds of millions of lives.”

“They concluded that nearly all the mortality reductions occurred before the introduction of vaccines and that vaccinations could therefore claim little of the credit.”

“For example, you can see from this graph that in 1900, some 13,000 Americans a year were dying of measles. By 1960, however, this number had dropped to a few hundred, but the measles vaccine was not introduced until three years later.”

“Therefore, almost all the measles mortality had disappeared before the vaccine. So the measles vaccine can’t really claim the credit for saving all those lives.”

RFK Jr. goes through it all for 7 minutes straight.

We have a Health Secretary who knows his SHT.

“We are going to ensure that America has the best childhood vaccine schedule. We’re going to address vaccine injuries. We’re going to modernize American vaccines with transparent gold standard science.”

“We’re going to eliminate and correct conflicts of interest and misaligned incentives. And we’re going to ensure scientific and medical freedom.”

  2. this guy’s take on the Charlie wannabe is pretty good imo…

Now @aidanxitter on X had a superb and comprehensive take, which is a must-read:

My big issue with you @BrilynHollyhand is that, my entire teenage and adult life, my peers and I have been fighting against the skin suit GOP that just uses buzz words and daddy’s money to solve things

Your book was ghost written and propped up. Nobody has heard of your show, or you, despite all your appearances on Fox. I’ve asked producers about you and I see that you just beg the whole time. The RNC thing is because your dad’s a donor. The NYP article and the Ben Shapiro thing make it more obvious, followed by the fact you’re reading off a script

To top it off, your daddy’s money comes from welfare kickbacks and tax handouts!

We fought a long way to remove people like you and then the RNC picks you and these other no names who just do what they’re told. You have more moderate politics than Charlie Kirk and you have no real beliefs. Your beliefs are whatever gets you in front of a camera and some attention

Your career is everything we hate about the GOP: fake, donor-controlled, shallow, aloof, subversive, and regressive

The more you try to go this route the more it’ll hurt in the long run. Short term success won’t buy you out of this because the distrust of you is organic

You don’t get to ‘awe shucks, golly gee, pinch me!’ your way out of criticism. If you’re in the arena you’re open to attacks. You might be a nice kid but that has nothing to do with your career

You have alienated all of your peers. My best advice is to take a step back, figure out what you’re in this for, and be authentic. If your brand genuinely is 2003 GOP then pack up shop because that ship has sailed

You are a toy for old grandparents to watch on Fox to say “it’s so nice these young kids care”

Take it or leave it. Charlie Kirk earned his career. In blood. We earned ours in sweat. You had yours handed to you and you knew how to game the GOP

  3. “Britain Is Turning Its Back On Western Civilization — By praising cousin marriage, the National Health Service is repudiating Britain’s Christian past in favor of its unassimilated Muslims.”

The Federalist, By: John Daniel Davidson, September 30, 2025

    London

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “A recent news article about Britain’s National Health Service managed, in a few lines, to capture just how dire the situation is in that country and how divorced from reality its political leadership has become.

The article was about guidance the NHS published recently, “extolling the benefits of first-cousin marriage despite the increased risk of birth defects.” Defying both modern science and the traditions of western civilization, the NHS England’s Genomics Education Programme seemed to endorse incest, saying first-cousin marriage is linked to “stronger extended family support systems and economic advantages.”

It’s also linked to an increased risk of heritable genetic conditions like sickle cell disease and cystic fibrosis, but that’s apparently not as important to the NHS as justifying the practice of cousin marriage among its Pakistani Muslim immigrant population.

Indeed, the only reason the NHS is even talking about cousin marriage is because the practice is rampant among the country’s Muslim immigrants. Unwilling to push back against this for fear of being accused of racism, the British government is instead publishing documents with lines like this, from the NHS guidance: “Genetic counselling, awareness-raising initiatives and public health campaigns are all important tools to help families make informed decisions without stigmatising certain communities and cultural traditions.”

It’s hard to imagine any other issue that so completely encapsulates what’s gone wrong in Britain, or illustrates how thoroughly the country’s ruling elites have turned their back not only  on their native population but on western civilization itself. After all, the prohibition on cousin marriage was one of the early achievements of Christendom that enabled the rise of western civilization in Europe.

In the sixth and seventh centuries, amid the collapse of the Roman Empire in the west, the Catholic Church began pushing back on the practice of cousin marriage, or consanguinity, among the pagan peoples of Europe, where it was common among the Anglo-Saxons and other groups. Pope Gregory the Great banned cousin marriage outright shortly after he became pope in 590 A.D., and in time the Catholic Church’s prohibition became the cultural norm across the entire continent.

In his best-selling 2020 book, The Weirdest People in the World: How the West Became Psychologically Peculiar and Particularly Prosperous, Joseph Henrich argues that one of the effects of Christianity making consanguinity taboo in Europe was to break down the insularity of the various tribes and peoples which had settled in the lands of the former Roman Empire. Close-knit family clans, caught in cycles of ruinous internecine warfare, were forced to marry their sons and daughters to families outside their bloodlines. This had the effect of enlarging the clans and creating wider networks of mutual trust and kinship that fostered peace among newly-converted Christian peoples.

In other words, banning cousin marriage was arguably one of the foundations of western civilization, imposed by Christendom on the erstwhile pagan peoples of Europe, for the sake of peace and social cohesion. That cousin marriage should now reappear in a rapidly de-Christianizing Britain, along with political pandering to its unassimilated Muslim population, is a testament to how thoroughly modern Britain’s leaders have betrayed their own civilization — and how unwilling they are to assert it over and against the foreign cultural practices of Muslim immigrants.

Of course, the NHS guidance also accurately notes that cousin marriage has been legal in the U.K., albeit rare, since the early 1500s — a change that was made specifically so that King Henry VIII could marry Catherine Howard, his ex-wife’s cousin. Yet that bit of history only serves to reinforce the point. Henry VIII laid waste to much of England’s cultural and religious tradition. He looted the monasteries, consolidated the power of the state, introduced foreign customs, and viciously persecuted the country’s Catholic majority.

Britain’s leaders today are arguably following in Henry VIII’s footsteps. They introduce and favor foreign cultural practices, extend the power of the state over the traditional rights and liberties of the people, and persecute the native British population for dissenting from the forced transformation of their country.

Then as now, the cowardice and betrayal of Britain’s rulers is appalling. The NHS says it doesn’t want to stigmatize “certain communities and cultural traditions,” by discouraging cousin marriage. Instead of facing up to the massive problem that it has created by importing a foreign population whose cultural and religious practices are incompatible with British society and western civilization, Britain’s corrupt governing class is instead trying to transform British society by turning the clock back on western civilization itself.

One of the forms that effort is taking is, incredibly, official praise for incest from the NHS. As all of this plays out in Britain, it will take worse forms yet.”

  4. “Democrats’ Relentless Demonizing Paves Way For The Next Political Assassination — U.S. politics is a tinder box right now, and leftists like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker keep striking matches.”

The Federalist, By: M.D. Kittle, September 30, 2025

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a Texas Democrat, appears on MSNBC.

EXCERPT: “In their perverse pursuit of power, leftist politicians are daily signing the death warrant for the next political assassination. It’s now a matter of when, not if. You can’t relentlessly call your political enemies “Nazis”, “fascists,” and “tyrants” without giving license to homicidal leftists to do what they do best: Attack their perceived existential threats. Just ask the family and friends of Christian evangelizer and conservative icon Charlie Kirk. Or President Donald Trump, who is intimately familiar with what the unhinged left is capable of.

American politics is a tinder box right now, and leftists like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker keep striking matches. GOP Rapid Response on Monday released a list of 10 of the more incendiary comments from Democrat pols in the days following Kirk’s cold-blooded murder on Sept. 10. It’s a veritable who’s who of hate from liberal politicians stoking the fires of political violence. ‘FASCIST!’

Newsom, who has visions of presidential sugar plums dancing in his head, has cranked up the hateful political vilification, even as his fellow Democrats offer platitudes about “turning down the heat.” Newsom’s official state press X account on Friday called Trump adviser Stephen Miller an all caps “FASCIST!”

“DING DONGS IN THE WHITE HOUSE: IF YOU DON’T WANT US TO CALL YOU A FASCIST THEN STOP DOING FASCIST THINGS,” Newsom’s team declared in a separate post. Apparently to Newsom and crew, enforcing federal law, restoring America’s borders, and in general doing what voters elected you to do in a constitutional republic is the stuff of dictators.

According to Pritzker, the duly elected Republican president of the United States and his administration are architects of the next Holocaust.

“Look, I’ve built a Holocaust museum with survivors, I’ve also read a whole lot about authoritarian regimes, this is the playbook folks,” the morbidly obese liberal told former Biden liar Jen Psaki a week after Kirk was murdered by a suspect saturated in leftist hate. I don’t know what the hell Pritzker is reading, but Trump 2.0 is nothing like the Third Reich’s systematic extermination of millions of human beings. It is a false and vile equivalency.

Pritzker urged his liberal listeners to do something about it. “If you’re not paying attention now and doing something about it, well then you’re going to have to sit down for the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away,” he told Psaki.

What does that mean? What does that mean to the violence-inclined liberal in the throes of severe Trump Derangement Syndrome? Here’s the Democrat Party’s constant message: You will lose “democracy” if you don’t stop Trump. That seems like a lot to lose. It isn’t true, but it is urgent.

“This type of vile rhetoric led to Charlie Kirk’s assassination,” the Republican National Committee said in response to Pritzker’s violence-stoking comments. “When will enough be enough?”

Certainly not until Democrats regain power and their vengeance for Trump and the MAGA movement that returned him to the White House is sated. And most likely not even then……”

Just The News: “The Taliban shut down the internet across Afghanistan, as part of the ruling party’s “morality measures” effort.

CBS News confirmed Monday that internet links have been cut nationwide, after the French news agency AFP reported that the Taliban began to restrict internet service earlier this month, shutting down high-speed connections in several regions across the country.

“Afghanistan is now in the midst of a total internet blackout as Taliban authorities move to implement morality measures, with multiple networks disconnected through the morning in a stepwise manner; telephone services are currently also impacted,” the cybersecurity and internet governance watchdog Netblocks posted on X on Monday.

While Taliban leadership has not publicly commented on the blackout, Haji Zahid, a local Taliban spokesperson in the northern province of Balkh, said in a post on X on Friday that the ban had been ordered by their leader, Haibatullah Akhundzada, “to prevent immoral activities.”

Afghan television channel TOLO said Monday that its broadcast had been disrupted by the communications crackdown and that mobile phone internet services have been shut down. The channel cited sources within the Taliban that indicated mobile services could soon be restored, but with a lower-capacity 2G signal.

The communications blackout comes as the Taliban has restricted the rights of women and girls, detained journalists, and cracked down on public dissent since retaking power in 2021. Also, Afghanistan is suffering from a humanitarian crisis, according to Human Rights Watch, as donor governments cut aid, and 1.9 million refugees expelled from Iran and Pakistan return. The country is also recovering from an earthquake earlier this month that killed nearly 3,000 people.”

However, a 2019 law guarantees that most federal employees will receive back pay once the shutdown ends.

Congressional members and the President’s pay is funded by a permanent appropriation and continues during a shutdown. Social Security and Medicare also have permanent funding. Recipients will continue to receive their payments, though customer service may be limited.”

Robert W Malone MD, MS, Sep 30, 2025

EXCERPT: “CBS and KFF News (Kaiser Family Foundation) are in the midst of doing a hit piece on me, recycling Senator Blumenthal’s debunked and baseless allegations on Senate letterhead that my showing an image of a chamber of a revolver containing one cartridge in a meme with the joke that “Five out of six scientists have proven that Russian roulette is harmless.” triggered the September attack on the CDC building, who then also killed an DeKalb County Police Officer. I already addressed absurd accusations under oath in the US Senate.

I am not aware of ANY complaints to this effect filed by ANY CDC personnel to date. But make no mistake, my friends, Blumenthal’s attack on my character, followed by assertions by CBS and KFF that CDC staffers have safety concerns linked to me, is called the wrap-up smear.

They are targeting me with these baseless allegations to stir up left-wing hatred, thereby putting my life in danger. I have endured years of anonymous gang stalking attacks, inciting hatred on the left, fueled by SHOTS Heard Round the World organization, which, as documented by the Epoch Times and others, appears to be ultimately financed by the CDC foundation and indirectly by the CDC.

If you read carefully, the “reporter” from CBS News and the Kaiser Family Foundation is also complaining because I revealed a key flaw in the data analysis that KFF has been performing with the CDC. This criticism indirectly threatens the financial interests of KFF, because it calls into question the validity of a massive amount of federally contracted work.

This flaw was the topic of a separate recent substack essay…….”

    RED-STATE ISLAMIZATION: FLORIDA WENT FIRST

Before Houston’s George Bush Airport made headlines for building a Sharia-compliant Islamic prayer complex…

👉 Orlando International Airport had already quietly spent $250,000 of your tax dollars to build gender-segregated Islamic prayer rooms — fully equipped with:

🔹 Wudu (ablution) stations for ritual washing

🔹 Separate spaces for men and women

🔹 Directional signage to help Muslims face Mecca

🔹 Shoe and luggage racks — just like a mosque

    That’s right. A mini-mosque inside a Florida airport — funded by you.

    Meanwhile…

❌ No synagogues in Saudi airports
    ❌ No churches in Islamabad
❌ No Hindu shrines in Tehran

✅ But in America? We build exclusive Sharia prayer rooms for travelers from regimes where a Jew praying in public could be arrested.

This isn’t “diversity.” This is civilizational surrender.

While Islamic nations criminalize public Christian or Jewish worship, the U.S. is embedding Sharia infrastructure into our public spaces — and red states are falling for it.

    🔻 This is not tolerance.
    🔻 This is ideological submission.
🔻 And it’s exactly what the Muslim Brotherhood laid out in their plan to “destroy Western civilization from within.”

One prayer room at a time. One terminal at a time. One state at a time.

    🛑 Stop the Islamization.

  14. Just The News: “A federal judge on Tuesday fumed over President Donald Trump’s efforts to deport academics who have expressed support for the Palestinian cause.

The Trump administration has attempted to curb what it calls “antisemitism” on college campuses in response to the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that erupted nationwide in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas raid on Israel in 2023. The effort has earned criticism from the left and right alike over its potential encroachments on free speech. Among the most high-profile incidents was the administration’s move to deport Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate and non-citizen who helped to organize pro-Palestinian activities.

The case in question saw a number of advocacy groups sue Rubio and Noem in their official capacities, alleging coordination to curb certain speech, in violation of the First Amendment.

“This case -– perhaps the most important ever to fall within the jurisdiction of this district court –- squarely presents the issue whether non-citizens lawfully present here in United States actually have the same free speech rights as the rest of us,” wrote Judge William Young. “The Court answers this Constitutional question unequivocally ‘yes, they do.’

““No law’ means ‘no law.’ The First Amendment does not draw President Trump’s invidious distinction and it is not to be found in our history or jurisprudence,” he added.

Young also found that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Secretary of State Marco Rubio “deliberately and with purposeful aforethought, did so concert their actions and those of their two departments intentionally to chill the rights to freedom of speech and peacefully to assemble of the non-citizen plaintiff members of the plaintiff associations.”

  17. Dearborn police chief says an islamic prayer during press conference.

    FTA

“When I joined the department, Dearborn’s Arab American population was nearly 50%. Yet, less than 3% of our police force reflected the community that we served,” Shahin stated. “The department was not always welcoming to people who were different. Today, the Dearborn Police Department, the department I wish I worked for when I first started my career, is now a department that reflects and embraces the community it serves with 45% of our officers being Arab American. It’s a department that respects the dignity and rights of all individuals including the right to wear hijab even when facing the justice system. It’s a department that has taken meaningful steps to address historical inequity. Together we’ve built a police department that values diversity, equity and respect. One that serves all of Dearborn with honor and integrity.”

He ended his commentary by saying, “Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah,” which translates to “All praise is due to Allah.”

According to MyIslam.org, the phrase is “an integral part” of the Muslim faith as “both the Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad teach us to say this word daily as a form of prayer and worship.”

The city of Dearborn did not respond to an email seeking comment.

The video was posted on Aug. 28 by Amy Mekelburg, who is a critic of Islam and founded the RAIR Foundation USA.

Conservative political commentator Matt Walsh did a commentary on the video on Sept. 29.

“That’s a police chief in America giving praise to Allah during an official address to the public in uniform,” Walsh said. “That’s great. … Who could possibly have an issue with that? Of course, every person if you are not a Muslim and you see that, you find that unsettling. Every single one of us does, it’s just you are supposed to pretend you don’t.”

Walsh took issue with the police chief boasting about his work force going from 3% Arabic to 45% Arabic.

“How do you achieve that kind of demographic transformation in that short amount of time?” Walsh asked. “How do you do that? Well, you do it intentionally. That’s how you do it. You do it by driving out the white Christians and replacing them with Arabs. You do that on purpose. That’s the only way to do it. By saying, ‘This is the result we want and we are going to do whatever is necessary to make that result happen.’ And that’s what they did. They are not even hiding it.”

“This is an intentional effort to Islamicize the police force. And he admits that, proudly. It’s a great thing, he says,” Walsh said.

Walsh said that white Christians are the only group that can’t say they want to be represented by their own culture.
