  1. Good morning, Pat and Filly! What a fun post today!

Glad to be a Grandma and Great Grandma. So thankful and proud of our progeny – nobody went to jail, got on drugs, had an abortion or a baby out of wedlock…and no divorces yet, so far. It looks like they married good people and are happily married! I guess our example was a painful enough deterrent.

Our weather forecast for pretty much the rest of the week: “Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 105. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.” – – – There was a lot of wind in yesterday’s thunderstorm – gusts of 20-30 mph – and the rain was going sideways!

    1. Well, I can’t make those claims about my progeny since both of my children are dead, grandson still has yet to get his divorce but living with another woman and spent time in jail; my older granddaughter is doing ok, married with a great-grandchild born out of wedlock….at least, I think they’re married…maybe not…can’t say what’s happening with my other GD since I never hear from her….about as dysfunctional as can be, I reckon! Hell, my entire birth family is dysfunctional! Such is life!

        1. Animals somehow understand these things – more than anything, they just love the attention – they can see the love in their “parents” eyes and feel it in their touch.

Just The News: “The House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday released an interim report that accuses the Biden administration’s FBI of constructing a “false narrative” that depicted Catholic Americans as violent extremists.

The 51-page report comes after the FBI under former director Christopher Wray circulated an internal memo dubbed the Richmond Memorandum, created by the Richmond field office in 2023, which labeled traditional Catholics as “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists.”

The report accuses the bureau of creating a “manufactured narrative to insert federal law-enforcement agents into places of worship.” The report includes revelations that the FBI allegedly spied on a priest because he refused to discuss a private conversation that he had with a parishioner.

The Richmond field office reportedly investigated the priest’s background, monitored his travel plans, and looked into his credit card information after the priest allegedly claimed he would need to speak to his church and an attorney before discussing the conversation. The parishioner had recently been arrested.

“There appeared to be no legitimate law-enforcement purpose for investigating this priest,” the report determined. “This new information suggests that the FBI’s religious liberty abuses were more widespread than the FBI initially admitted and led the public to believe.”

The report also found that the Richmond memorandum was not an isolated incident as previously believed, and that terms like “Radical Traditionalist Catholic” were used in 13 documents between 2009 and 2023.

“These new findings make it apparent that the FBI under President Biden and Director Wray withheld key information responsive to the Committee’s oversight,” the report reads. “The Committee remains committed to conducting oversight of the Biden-Harris Administration’s abuse of federal law-enforcement resources against Catholic Americans.”

  4. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Tuesday night announced that he will lower tariffs on Japan to 15% as part of a trade deal with its ally that will see Japan invest $550 billion in the United States. Trump previously threatened to impose a 24% tariff rate on Japanese imports in April and 25% in a letter earlier this month. The agreement comes shortly before Trump’s Aug. 1 deadline.

“This Deal will create Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs — There has never been anything like it,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “Perhaps most importantly, Japan will open their Country to Trade including Cars and Trucks, Rice and certain other Agricultural Products, and other things. Japan will pay Reciprocal Tariffs to the United States of 15%.

“This is a very exciting time for the United States of America, and especially for the fact that we will continue to always have a great relationship with the Country of Japan,” he continued. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Japan has not yet publicly commented on the new deal.”

  5. Just The News: “Federal prosecutors on Tuesday charged a New York man with allegedly creating and hiding multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) across New York City, in a plot that was foiled by law enforcement.

The Justice Department claimed the suspect, Michael Gann, constructed and hid at least seven devices around the city, including at least five that were stored on the rooftops of residential buildings and one that was thrown onto subway tracks.

The department claimed Gann ordered precursor chemicals, which cause an explosion when combined, online in May, which he received in June. The supplies included approximately two pounds of potassium perchlorate, approximately one pound of aluminum powder, over 200 cardboard tubes and over 50-feet worth of fuses.

“The safety of New Yorkers is paramount,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton said in a statement. “As alleged, Michael Gann built explosive devices, stored them on a rooftop in SoHo, and threw one onto the subway tracks—putting countless lives at risk.  Thanks to swift work by our law enforcement partners, no one was harmed.  That vigilance assuredly prevented a tragedy in New York.”

The 55-year-old, who has been charged with one count of attempted destruction of property by means of explosives, one count of transportation of explosive materials and one count of unlawful possession of destructive devices, faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted, according to Fox News.

  6. “WHO: U.S. Rejects IHR Amendments: A positive step, but the fight is far from over”

Noor Bin Ladin, Jul 23, 2025

Modified illustration. Original by Joey Guidone.

EXCERPT: “July 19, 2025 marked the World Health Organization’s deadline for signatory states to reject the amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR), adopted at the 2024 World Health Assembly (WHA).

As far as we know, three countries have formally rejected these amendments in time: Israel, Italy and the United States of America.

Following HHS Secretary Kennedy’s video announcement, I jumped on Stephen K. Bannon’s War Room with the lovely Natalie Winters to report on the breaking news (11min, including Kennedy’s full statement):

As I mentioned during our segment, rejecting these amendments, and kickstarting the process of withdrawing from the WHO, is a great start –– but hopefully it’s only the beginning of a vast disentanglement process.

I’ll also add that while Kennedy made some good points, calling out “medical totalitarianism” and the “global medical surveillance of every human being”, they are difficult to reconcile with his recent, unequivocal push for “wearables”.

At a House Energy Committee hearing a month ago, Kennedy shared that wearables are a “key part of the MAHA agenda”, and “[his] vision is that every American is wearing a wearable within four years”.

    Here’s a clip of his remarks (5min):….”

“Accountability and justice for the many crimes perpetrated against humanity are indeed direly needed –– and way overdue –– on multiple fronts.”

  8. Just The News: “Voice of America (VOA) managers met multiple times with Chinese officials seeking to influence more favorable U.S. coverage of their country, part of a larger dynamic that proved to the “detriment of America” and its taxpayer-funded media operation for the world, Trump adviser Kari Lake told Just the News.

Lake, the president’s senior adviser for the U.S. Agency for Global Media, said the meetings with communist China officials both in Washington and abroad were discovered as part of an investigation that exposed undue foreign influence on the VOA’s operations.

“We found out in our investigations over the months that I’ve been here, that the CCP, operating out of the embassy in Washington, D.C. … were meeting regularly with VOA management to tell them how they should be covering China,” Lake said Tuesday night in a wide-ranging interview on the Just the News, No Noise television show.

Lake said the coverage was skewed to portray the country in a positive light, and that at least one VOA official with the Mandarin language division had pledged his support for the CCP at one of the meetings.

“I mean, you can’t make this stuff up. It’s so crazy. But then over the years, it got more brazen, and I understand that VOA management, some of them, actually went over to China and met with CCP officials there,” she said.

Lake also confirmed previous Just the News reporting that VOA hired multiple Chinese nationals with ties to Chinese state media, and sponsored hundreds of visas for other foreign journalists to come work at the USAGM subsidiary.

The agency used J1 cultural exchange visas, which are not designed for use as a general work authorization, to sponsor more than 400 foreign journalists from 2009 through the end of the last administration. Nearly 100 of those are from countries that could present particular security concerns, including at least three Chinese nationals who worked for Chinese Communist Party-controlled state-owned media outlets.

“This agency started hiring non-Americans, people from foreign countries, many people, hundreds upon hundreds from countries that are hostile to America, hired them, brought them into our country to tell America’s story,” Lake explained.

Lake argued that Chinese journalists being brought to America on the taxpayer’s dime and pushing “pro-CCP propaganda” to the “detriment” of the country, contradicted the original purpose of the VOA, which was formed during World War II to combat Axis propaganda and later used during the Cold War to promote Western and American values abroad.

The senior advisor, who has been tasked with dismantling the USAGM and VOA, additionally noted that the issue extended beyond China to impact coverage of Russia as well. Those stories, she lamented, were largely pro-Russia and “anti-American.”

Lake confirmed that the agency would be ending the J1 visa program used by prior leadership to hire and retain foreign journalists, as Just the News reported on Tuesday. She also said, pursuant to Trump’s executive order earlier this year, the agency is working on an “85%” size reduction in the near term.

Moving forward, “our goal is to shut the entire agency down as per the instructions of President Trump,” Lake said. “And so I’m working to eliminate the agency, and it’s been a big job, but we’re working hard at it.”

  9. EXCERPT: “Calling Hamas a “terrorist” organization, illegal immigration a “cancer” and people who illegally immigrate “illegal aliens” is no longer punishable speech at taxpayer-funded schools in California and North Carolina, under settlements to resolve litigation this month.

In a third quadrant of America, Eastern Maine Community College didn’t wait for litigation before replacing a professor who called a Christian student a hypocrite for defending the Second Amendment in a debate assignment, and twice ordered her to write a new paper, after dozens of state Republican lawmakers demanded the professor’s “immediate” firing.

The Coast Community College District paid Young Americans for Freedom student leaders at Golden West College, including a naturalized U.S. citizen from Iran, a symbolic $17.91 each and nearly $26,000 in legal fees, less than two months after their lawyers at the Institute for Free Speech challenged the school’s speech policies and enforcement.

Days before the Inter-Club Council officially recognized the YAF chapter this spring, following five months of ICC resistance based on its conservative views, Director of Student Life Stephanie Smallshaw gave Matin Samimiat and Annaliese Hutchings a “courtesy warning” in response to complaints about messages on their “Change My Mind” whiteboard.

During February and March recruiting events, they had posted sentences including “Illegal immigration is a cancer upon any society in the world” and “Hamas is a terrorist organization and they must be wiped from the face of the Earth.”

Smallshaw threatened punishment if they kept writing such statements, saying the cancer metaphor “dehumanizes a group of people” and “can also be harmful to people who have experienced cancer with their loved ones,” the lawsuit argues.

The Hamas statement can “incite violence and encourage the killing of a group of people,” and because “some students here believe Hamas is not a terrorist organization,” YAF can’t use that term for the U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization, Smallshaw said. She wouldn’t tell them what language to avoid to fend off future punishment, the suit says.

Despite the specificity of the quotes in the lawsuit, an IFS spokesperson told Just the News the students weren’t recording when they met with Smallshaw.

Students kept protesting YAFs recognition at subsequent ICC meetings, accusing the club of “creating a hostile environment for people of color” and “being hateful towards LGBT people,” and Smallshaw encouraged them to report “hateful behavior” to her, YAF said….”

  12. EXCERPT: “A newly-declassified House Intelligence Committee report alleges that the Obama-era intelligence assessment on Russian election meddling used the discredited Steele dossier to underpin its conclusion that Vladimir Putin aspired to help Donald Trump win the 2016 election, directly challenging the testimony of officials like CIA Director John Brennan who denied that had happened.

The report, released Thursday by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard after years of being locked away at the CIA, also alleges the December 2016 Intelligence Community  Assessment “glossed over” evidence that Putin may have instead favored (or at least fully expected) a Hillary Clinton victory nine years ago.

“The judgment that Putin developed a ‘clear preference’ for candidate Trump and ‘aspired to help his chances of victory’ did not adhere to the tenets of the ICD (Intelligence Community Directive) analytical standards,” the report found.

“The ICA ignored and selectively quoted reliable intelligence reports that challenged and in some cases undermined judgments that Putin sought to elect Trump,” it added. “The ICA failed to consider plausible alternative explanations of Putin’s intentions indicated by reliable intelligence and observed Russian actions.”

You can read the full report here. House Intel Report – ICA

The report’s release comes as FBi Director Kash Patel has opened a criminal conspiracy case alleging the weaponization of intelligence and federal law enforcement between 2016 and 2024 violated federal law and multiple criminal referrals have been sent to the Pam Bondi-led Justice Department.

Brennan and other collaborators on the ICA have steadfastly denied wrongdoing and suggested any criminal probe now would be politically motivated.

The “Oversight Investigation & Referral” coversheet for the 44-page report is dated September 2020, and transmitted to the CIA a report written years ago by the GOP-led committee chaired at the time by then-Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.). The report’s classified findings on the 2016 ICA had been closely held by the CIA for many years, with CIA Director John Ratcliffe handing the report back over to the committee earlier this month.

Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Ark., the current chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, had sent Trump a letter earlier this month telling him that the report by the committee “exposes the truth about the politically driven Obama-era assessment.” Crawford urged Trump to read the classified report and argued in his letter that “public interest declassification is merited.”

The declassified House report affirmed many of the conclusions of the ICA but strongly faulted  the “high confidence” assessment by the FBI and the CIA that Putin was trying to help Trump win as a deviation of spy tradecraft. Most other intelligence agencies in the U.S. government were excluded from the December 2016 ICA after just a few months earlier coming to a different conclusion that Putin was simply trying to sow chaos in the 2016 election.

The House report offered strong evidence that the ICA directly cited the Steele dossier when it argued that Putin had aspired to help Trump win.

The GOP House report also found indications that the drafters of the ICA had turned their eyes away from evidence suggesting Putin may have been indifferent in the 2016 election, had resigned himself to Clinton winning, may have even preferred a Clinton victory, and held back damaging information on Clinton under the expectation that it would be used to undermine her assured presidency.

The 2016 ICA was written at the direction of President Barack Obama and largely overseen by then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, then-CIA Director John Brennan, and the since-fired FBI Director James Comey. It was finished in December 2016, with a publicly declassified version released in early January 2017 and a more extensive classified version declassified and released last week…..”

  13. “Austin Fire Chief Who Refused To Deploy Rescue Boats For Flood Victims Was A DEI Hire — Not only will DEI gradually destroy a critical institution of public safety, but at some point it will also destroy the lives that the institution is charged to protect.”

The Federalist, By: Auguste Meyrat, July 23, 2025

    Austin Fire Chief Joel Baker

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Similar to the flood itself, the tragedy of the high waters sweeping through the Central Texas Hill Country has violently ebbed and flowed from the public consciousness. At the last count, the death toll has reached 135 souls, at least a dozen of them little girls at a Christian camp.

True to the spirit of the times, the disaster soon degenerated into yet another game of partisan mudslinging. Of course, leftists immediately blamed DOGE cuts to disaster relief and climate change, neither of which was true. As for those on the right, when they were not actively debunking these claims, most of them concluded that this was just one of those unavoidable evils that occur in a fallen world.

However, there happens to be more to this story that few people on either side seem to discuss. There actually was someone who could have intervened in time to save many of the victims: Austin’s Fire Department Chief Joel Baker.

According to a public comment from the Austin Firefighters Association (AFA), Chief Baker had several opportunities to “send life-saving swift water boat teams to pre-deploy to Kerrville during devastating flooding” but decided against this out of a “misguided attempt to save money.” Evidently, he didn’t understand that “the fire department is fully reimbursed by the state to deploy,” even when someone explained “this very simple concept” to him. As such, the AFA overwhelmingly affirmed a vote of no confidence in Baker.

The Austin Fire Department (AFD) spokesmen had little to say in response to this except that it was a difficult situation: “The decision about how to allocate resources to help our fellow Texans is not a simple one. It requires communication from public safety partners on the ground to ensure we are providing resources and personnel when, where and how they are most needed.”

Just to be clear, people in the AFD were aware of the potential of flooding in the Hill Country just west of the city (as there often is) and could have easily sent out rescue teams beforehand. But, from all available evidence, Chief Baker was too stupid to realize that he could have authorized the deployments and been reimbursed for it.

This prompts the question of how someone as incompetent as Chief Baker was hired to be the fire chief of one of Texas’ largest and fastest-growing cities in the first place. By now, the question answers itself: He was a DEI hire who would implement DEI-driven policies in the city’s fire department. According to a report from The Blaze, Baker was “touted as Austin’s ‘first African-American fire chief,’” and had “prioritized diversity and increasing the number of ‘minority applicants.’” Before leading the AFD, ”Baker spent three decades with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department in Georgia, where he grew up.”

Were there not other seasoned candidates for fire chief who were actually from the area who could have done this job far better? The probable answer is that there were, but they weren’t black and didn’t signal their preference for diversifying the department. In all likelihood, they were probably interested in less politically important concerns like keeping people safe from fires and floods.

If this whole story sounds eerily similar to the fires that devoured the Pacific Palisades along with other communities near Los Angeles earlier this year, that’s because it is. In that case, it was a lesbian fire chief and her two lesbian deputies (all named forms of “Kristen”) who prioritized diversifying their staff and making embarrassing promotional videos over employing common-sense measures to keep residents and their expensive property safe from the large fires that flare up periodically in that part of California.

Some non-Texans may wonder how a city in the heart of a red state like Texas would follow the example as one of the most dysfunctional cities in the country. They should know that Austin, Texas, is the quintessential blue city, ever envious of the West Coast and eagerly adopting each new dumb trend from that part of the country. The city’s unofficial motto is “Keep Austin Weird,” which amounts to instinctively rejecting the very principles and policies that originally made it a bustling city. It also doesn’t help that Austin is especially attractive to Californian refugees who often bring their leftist politics with them.

And so the people of Austin had to learn the disastrous consequences of leftism the hard way — that is, if they learned anything at all from this horrific event. Currently, few people seem to know the real story behind the floods in Central Texas, so there has been little pressure to force out Chief Baker, who stubbornly refuses to step down or admit mistakes. At least Mayor Karen Bass and the city council in Los Angeles had the sense to remove their fire chief after the Palisades Fire. Will Austin’s Mayor Kirk Watson and Austin City Council do the same?

Based on the low level of public pressure, probably not. Apparently not getting the memo about wokeness being out of fashion and not bothering to learn the problems that come with entrusting such a massive responsibility to a man whose main qualification is seemingly being “diverse,” Austin’s residents will continue to vote against their own well-being and happily make Gov. Greg Abbott’s life miserable. All of this is deeply unfortunate, but somehow preordained for major cities captured by leftists (see New York City and its socialist mayoral frontrunner).

This means that it falls to the rest of us to learn from the mistakes of the AFD and its leadership. No city and its people are immune to the deleterious effects of elevating people based on the color of their skin and their leftist political views. Not only will DEI gradually destroy a critical institution of public safety, but at some point it will also destroy the lives that the institution is charged to protect.’

  16. OK…that is NOT a “woman!!!!”

WBRC. Jake Pietrasz and Jordan Gartner, Published: Jul. 19, 2025

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) – A woman has been arrested after police say she attacked officers as they were questioning her about animals found in her hot vehicle. According to the Sylvania Township Police Department, officers responded Tuesday to a Walmart on Central Avenue for reports of a dog that was locked inside a vehicle, looking distressed.

When officers arrived, they located the vehicle with a dog inside, which was barking and growling at people through the windows. Officers said the vehicle’s windows were slightly open, but the dog was panting profusely without any water in sight. There were also four kittens and two cats inside animal crates. Officers said two of them appeared not to be moving.

Authorities said a dog Warden and the owner of Fur Angels were then called to the scene to take the animals into their custody. As this was happening, officers said they went inside the Walmart to locate the owner of the vehicle. Once inside, officers were able to find the owner, identified as Dawn Wiard.

Officers identified the woman as Dawn Wiard.
Officers identified the woman as Dawn Wiard.(Lucas County Corrections Center)

The department said Wiard told the officers she had just run inside to grab a few things and that they were not allowed to take her animals. The woman claimed the dog was a service animal, but allegedly ignored the officers when she was asked about documentation.

According to authorities, Wiard then put an officer in what appeared to be a headlock during the questioning. An officer who was outside with Wiard’s vehicle came inside to assist, grabbed her by the forearm, took her down to the ground and placed her in handcuffs. The officer said he had to push Wiard’s head and neck away as she was attempting to bite him.

Sylvania Township Police learned the kittens in Wiard’s vehicle were about 6 weeks old, severely underweight and had urine scalding on their paws. The cats have since been taken in by the Toledo Humane Society.

Wiard was booked into the Lucas County Jail on seven counts of cruelty to animals, one count of assault on a peace officer and one count of resisting arrest. A judge set Wiard’s bond at $30,000. She’s due back in court on July 23.”

“Every time I see one of these memes or cartoons telling us we’ll be kneeling at the altar of AI or our brains will turn to mush from relying on it to do  our thinking for us, I’m reminded of that scene from 2001: A space odyssey. “Open the pod bay doors, Hall. I’m sorry Dave, I can’t do that.”

It is spoken by astronaut Dave Bowman to the ship’s computer, HAL 9000, in response to HAL’s refusal to open the pod bay doors. This quote is iconic for its chillingly calm delivery by HAL, highlighting the computer’s capacity for cold, calculated logic that overrides human requests.”

  19. “We are Being Briefed”

    Clandestine, Jul 23, 2025

‘If Obama, and other high-profile individuals, ever were to be arrested, this is EXACTLY how I envisioned it would play out. The public MUST be briefed on WHY it is these people are being arrested BEFORE the arresting, and it’s a matter of NATSEC.

The public MUST be ready to accept arrests, otherwise it could cause widespread chaos. The media would claim Trump is a dictator, and it could lead to public uprisings, nationwide riots, mass civilian casualties, collective psychological anguish, etc.

But if the public are SHOWN that Obama and his cabal were engaged in treasonous acts, BEFORE they are arrested, the public will be more willing to accept it, without sparking widespread chaos.

We as the public are currently being briefed as to what happened. The idea of Obama and his cabal being arrested, is being seeded and normalized. It’s a gradual progression, not a band-aid rip. What Tulsi is doing right now, is educating the public, and preparing them for what is yet to come.

Based on what I am seeing, and the coordination behind this rollout, I believe it’s happening. As for when arrests happen, I do not know. It will happen when the time is right, AFTER the public are fully briefed on the crimes committed, shown the evidence, and the psychological blow has been softened.’

      1. Phew! It was a REALLY long day! I discovered that these small oxygen tanks don’t last more than a couple of hours – by the time I got to the VA, it was empty already! Not a problem since I can get by easily w/o it but it was a good lesson.

I laid the groundwork with the nurse who checked me in by mentioning Dr. Lutz’s fondness for pharmaceuticals and told her I preferred trying natural solutions first over, for example, Lasix. She clearly told him because he acknowledged my desire to try natural options first and is on board – yeah!!!

They took blood and will be doing tests as well as testing my urine sample; lungs and heart sound good – I go back mid-August to go over those results unless something arises before then – but he brought up something re: the excess fluid build-up in my legs that hadn’t even dawned on me….I drink iced tea all day long, literally – I am never w/o a large mug of it on my table. Of course all that fluid is going to build up – duh! On top of that, when I move to my recliner, the bag of Honey BBQ chips goes with me and I’ll easily eat a half of the bag in one sitting. Another duh! All that salt? Yep!!! So I’ll be making those changes.

I picked up a pair of compression socks at WM, as well as a pulse oximeter to test my oxygen level & pulse – I haven’t quite figured out how to read that yet…..I also got some slow-release Iron supplements and Vit C/Electrolyte drink mixes. I’m going to be so danged healthy I won’t know what to do with myself! LOL

          1. Yeah, you would think but I wasn’t peeing as much as I should have been, considering how much I was taking in.

BREAKING: Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) to OPPOSE confirming Trump Federal Judicial Nominee Emil Bove to the 3rd Circuit, per Courthouse

Absolutely ridiculous. This is on top of Susan Collins (R-ME) opposing Bove.

That’s -2. 1 more, you need JD to break the tie.

NOT A SINGLE REPUBLICAN should be opposing Trump on stacking the judiciary with competent-minded constitutionalists to counter the activists.

Trump won Alaska by 13 points.

Yikes. In 2016 Russia had intel that Hillary Clinton had serious physical and mental ailments, but did not release it, as it wanted her to win.

She supposedly had Type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, deep vein thrombosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was also supposedly on heavy tranquilizers due to intensive psycho-emotional problems, including uncontrollable fits of anger, aggressiveness, and cheerfulness ( Bipolar? No wonder she did not concede until the next day, when they’d had time to calm her down with some meds. Always wondered if the rumors of her trashing her hotel room on election night were true.)
