MIBURN

On June 21, 1964, three civil rights workers disappeared.  The following article on the history.com website details the disappearance, the investigation and the discovery of the remains.

From: history.com:

The remains of three civil rights workers whose disappearance on June 21 garnered national attention are found buried in an earthen dam near Philadelphia, Mississippi. Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman, both white New Yorkers, had traveled to heavily segregated Mississippi in 1964 to help organize civil rights efforts on behalf of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). The third man, James Chaney, was a local African American man who had joined CORE in 1963. The disappearance of the three young men led to a massive FBI investigation that was code-named MIBURN, for “Mississippi Burning.”

Michael Schwerner, who arrived in Mississippi as a CORE field worker in January 1964, aroused the animosity of white supremacists after he organized a successful boycott of a variety store in the city of Meridian and led voting registration efforts for African Americans. In May, Sam Bowers, the Imperial Wizard of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Mississippi, sent word that the 24-year-old Schwerner, nicknamed “Goatee” and “Jew-Boy” by the KKK, was to be eliminated. On the evening of June 16, two dozen armed Klansmen descended on Mt. Zion Methodist Church, an African American church in Neshoba County that Schwerner had arranged to use as a “Freedom School.” Schwerner was not there at the time, but the Klansmen beat several African Americans present and then torched the church.

On June 20, Schwerner returned from a civil rights training session in Ohio with 21-year-old James Chaney and 20-year-old Andrew Goodman, a new recruit to CORE. The next day—June 21—the three went to investigate the burning of the church in Neshoba. While attempting to drive back to Meridian, they were stopped by Neshoba County Deputy Sheriff Cecil Price just inside the city limits of Philadelphia, the county seat. Price, a member of the KKK who had been looking out for Schwerner or other civil rights workers, threw them in the Neshoba County jail, allegedly under suspicion for church arson. After seven hours in jail, during which the men were not allowed to make a phone call, Price released them on bail. After escorting them out of town, the deputy returned to Philadelphia to drop off an accompanying Philadelphia police officer. As soon as he was alone, he raced down the highway in pursuit of the three civil rights workers. He caught the men just inside county limits and loaded them into his car. Two other cars pulled up filled with Klansmen who had been alerted by Price of the capture of the CORE workers, and the three cars drove down an unmarked dirt road called Rock Cut Road. Schwerner, Goodman and Chaney were shot to death and their bodies buried in an earthen dam a few miles from the Mt. Zion Methodist Church.

The next day, the FBI began an investigation into the disappearance of the civil rights workers. On June 23, the case drew national headlines, and federal agents found the workers’ burned station wagon. Under pressure from Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, the FBI escalated the investigation, which eventually involved more than 200 FBI agents and scores of federal troops who combed the woods and swamps looking for the bodies. The incident provided the final impetus needed for the 1964 Civil Rights Act to pass Congress on July 2, and eight days later FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover came to Mississippi to open a new Bureau office. Eventually, Delmar Dennis, a Klansman and one of the participants in the murders, was paid $30,000 and offered immunity from prosecution in exchange for information. On August 4, the remains of the three young men were found. The culprits were identified, but the state of Mississippi made no arrests.

Finally, on December 4, nineteen men, including Deputy Price, were indicted by the U.S. Justice Department for violating the civil rights of Schwerner, Goodman, and Chaney (charging the suspects with civil rights violations was the only way to give the federal government jurisdiction in the case). After nearly three years of legal wrangling, in which the U.S. Supreme Court ultimately defended the indictments, the men went on trial in Jackson, Mississippi. The trial was presided over by an ardent segregationist, U.S. District Judge William Cox, but under pressure from federal authorities and fearing impeachment, he took the case seriously. On October 27, 1967, an all-white jury found seven of the men guilty, including Price and KKK Imperial Wizard Bowers. Nine were acquitted, and the jury deadlocked on three others. The mixed verdict was hailed as a major civil rights victory, as no one in Mississippi had ever before been convicted for actions taken against a civil rights worker.

In December, Judge Cox sentenced the men to prison terms ranging from three to 10 years. After sentencing, he said, “They killed one n*****, one Jew, and a white man. I gave them what I thought they deserved.” None of the convicted men served more than six years behind bars.

On June 21, 2005, the forty-first anniversary of the three murders, Edgar Ray Killen, was found guilty of three counts of manslaughter. At eighty years of age and best known as an outspoken white supremacist and part-time Baptist minister, he was sentenced to 60 years in prison. Killen died in 2018.

  1. Morning, Pat! Um…where does Miburn come in? Did I miss it? Horrible story! Well, I was going to try to refill the jelly feeder – I’ll still try, I guess – but then I looked at the temp: the sun isn’t even up yet and it’s already 80!!! Sheesh! That will be a quick trip, I can tell you that! But as hot as it is, I expect the birds need the fluid.

when i plan the month’s opens i always go to this day in history type sites and see if there’s anything of interest on specific days, then i fill in around those.
I never heard of this before so I thought I’d bring it.
I had heard of the movie Mississippi Burning before though, but never watched it.

  3. “NC Rep. EXPOSED after sharing photo calling for beheading of Trump”

Libs of TikTok, Jun 20, 2025

“The list of Democrats and far-left actors making calls for violence against President Trump seems to grow larger by the day.

In our latest story, we exposed Julie Von Haefen, a Democrat State Representative for North Carolina. In a recent social media post, Julie posted a picture from a “No Kings” protest, which appeared to call for the beheading of President Trump.

After our story went viral, Julie’s X account was deleted, and her original post on Facebook was edited to replace the graphic picture with a new one.

But the backlash continued…Just 16 hours after the story broke, Julie issued a statement addressing the controversy along with a half-baked apology for posting the graphic content.

    This is NOT good enough.

Time and time again, Democrats and far-left extremists spew violent rhetoric about President Trump and Republicans without consequence.Upgrade to paid

Remember Former FBI Director James Comey, who posted “8647” on his Instagram, only to pretend that he didn’t know it was a call to assassinate President Trump?

Or how about Democrats in Connecticut made an OFFICIAL statement openly calling for the assassination of President Trump?

Democratic leadership now has a documented history of pushing extreme, violent rhetoric without any accountability.

President Trump has been the victim of TWO assassination attempts and the target of MULTIPLE serious death threats, which includes the recent arrest of a former military sharpshooter who threatened Trump. With anti-ICE riots breaking out in major cities and Democrat-funded protests likening Trump to a tyrannical monster, far-left extremism is growing across the country at an alarming rate.

So NO, Rep. Julie Von Haefen, we DO NOT ACCEPT your apology. We will no longer accept ANY apologies until those who promote violence are held accountable for their actions. Until that happens, this situation will only continue to get worse. Arrests need to be made. This is NOT acceptable.

Libs of TikTok will keep exposing these bad actors, calling out the violent Left wherever they are. If the media won’t do it, we will. Have a great weekend, -LoTT Team

  4. Ugh! It is stifling out there! The feeder wasn’t very empty, actually – maybe the Orioles hunker down during weather like this. There was some kind of baby bird perched on the side of the garden bed – I didn’t even see it until I bent down to grab the jar of jelly to fill the open feeder. He/she wasn’t moving except to blink – looked at me and stayed put.

  7. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Friday announced that he and Secretary of State Marco Rubio helped secure a treaty between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The president said representatives from both countries will meet in Washington, D.C. next week to sign the treaty, which is expected to end the decades-long war between them.

“I am very happy to report that I have arranged, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a wonderful Treaty between the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of Rwanda, in their War, which was known for violent bloodshed and death, more so even than most other Wars, and has gone on for decades,” Trump posted to Truth Social.

“This is a Great Day for Africa and, quite frankly, a Great Day for the World,” he continued. “I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for this … No, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine, and Israel/Iran, whatever those outcomes may be, but the people know, and that’s all that matters to me.”

Trump was recommended for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize by Pakistan earlier Friday, for his role in helping de-escalate tensions between Pakistan and India earlier this year.”

  8. “Majority of Democrats Turn on Party Leaders Amid Mounting Discontent: Poll”

Free Beacon, Matthew Xiao, June 20, 2025

Chuck Schumer (Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images), Ken Martin (Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images for One Fair Wage), Hakeem Jeffries (Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Nearly two-thirds of Democratic voters say their party needs new leaders as frustration grows over its priorities and plummeting approval ratings, a new poll shows.

Sixty-two percent of Democrats say that the party’s leaders “should be replaced with new people,” compared with just 30 percent of Republicans who said the same about their party leaders, according to the Reuters/Ipsos survey published Thursday.

Nearly half of Democrats—49 percent—are “unsatisfied” with party leaders, while 41 percent say they are “satisfied” and 10 percent are unsure, the poll found.

The poll was released on the same day that news broke of intraparty backlash against Democratic National Committee chairman Ken Martin, with DNC members telling Politico that Martin is “weak,” “whiny,” and “invisible.” Earlier this week, powerful American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten quit her DNC role in protest of the party’s direction under Martin, leading Rep. Mark Pocan (D., Wis.) to tweet that he would “love to have a day go by” without the DNC doing “something embarrassing & off message.”

The Democratic rank-and-file also disagree sharply with their leadership over the party’s priorities, the Thursday poll found. Only 17 percent of Democrats, for example, think that allowing transgender individuals to compete in women’s sports should be a priority for the party.

The party’s approval ratings have been underwater for months, as Democrats struggle to rally behind a national leader and lack a frontrunner in the 2028 primary. The Democratic Party’s favorability has plunged below 30 percent, according to polls earlier this year by CNN and NBC News.”

  9. MAGA Minuteman

    June 21, 2025 6:03 am

Today is a big day for MAGA Country. Today with this post, an age old argument is settled. No, not about Tarlov. She’s a shill and everyone knows it.

What we learn today with this post is much more important. It answers that question, is it “BIGLY” or is it “BIG LEAGUE”?

Well, here it is folks, see for yourself…

    Donald J. Trump

    @realDonaldTrump

Why does Fox News allow failed TV personality Jessica Tarlov to “soil” The Five? Her voice, her manner, and above all else, what she says, are a disgrace to television broadcasting. I’ve had the best poll numbers that I’ve ever had, and she is constantly saying the exact opposite. The just out highly respected Rasmussen Poll is at 56%, Insider Advantage 54%, and many others are at 56% to 68%! Sadly, the audience has to listen to her spew off that I am doing poorly in the polls, while I am beating the democrats by 15%+ points and, more importantly, I just won an election against two candidates, Sleepy Joe and Kamala, in a Landslide by winning all 7 Swing States, and the Popular Vote by millions, with records broken everywhere! In all fairness to Jesse and Greg, who are terrific, they don’t see all of these poll numbers and can’t, therefore come to my defense. But I can! Nobody can stand Tarlov! She lies over and over again, and MAGA is complaining, BIG LEAGUE, that she’s all over Fox. Watch their ratings go down by keeping her on the show — nobody wants to listen to her. Why doesn’t she talk about the fact that I had ZERO illegal aliens come into our Country last month, whereas Sleepy Joe Biden allowed 62,000 people in, many from prisons, mental institutions, and gangs. People like Jessica Tarlov make MAGA absolutely hate Fox!

  10. Just The News: “The Trump administration has filed many emergency appeals with the Supreme Court this year, but as the High Court prepares to break for the summer, several important ones remain unresolved.

The Supreme Court still has approximately a dozen cases on its dockets, including challenges from the Trump administration, and only one more release date scheduled. The court typically tries to finish its term at the end of June, but can extend the calendar into July if it chooses.

If the Supreme Court does not issue a decision on a case by the end of the current term, the Justices can order it to be reargued in the next term, which will begin in October.

Here are the Trump administration’s cases that are still pending:

Birthright citizenship case and nationwide injunctions

One of the biggest cases remaining for the Trump administration is on the topic of nationwide injunctions and birthright citizenship. Both sides presented their arguments before the high court on May 15, and the justices did not give a clear indication of which way they were leaning, according to the Washington Examiner.

The case comes after three district court judges ruled that President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship, meaning the practice of granting automatic citizenship to all U.S.-born babies, violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution and blocked it.

Administration’s ability to deport illegal migrants to South Sudan

The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on May 27 to allow it to deport illegal migrants to third-world countries like South Sudan, arguing a lower court’s order slow-walked the administration’s ability to remove illegal migrants whose home countries would not accept them.

The Supreme Court has received briefs on the request from both sides of the application, but has yet to issue a decision.

    Federal workforce reductions

The Trump administration on June 2 asked the Supreme Court to stay a lower court order preventing the government from implementing large-scale job cuts and the reorganization of federal agencies, arguing the president’s ability to control staffing in the executive branch is part of his constitutional authority.

The administration has also asked the court to stay a lower court’s ruling that blocks the Department of Education from laying off hundreds of employees as it looks to downsize its workforce. The Supreme Court has received briefs from both sides in both cases.

The last day the Supreme Court is scheduled to release its opinions is June 26.”

  11. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Friday afternoon signaled that his administration could reach a “historic” deal with Harvard University in the near future, as it squabbles with the school over international students and antisemitism.

The social media post occurred around the same time that a federal judge blocked the administration from interfering in Harvard’s ability to enroll international students.

The Department of Homeland Security revoked Harvard’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification last month, after the Ivy League failed to provide information to the federal government about its international students and students who engaged in multiple school protests last year.

Trump posted on Truth Social that his administration has been working closely with the Ivy League school to reach an agreement, and praised the school for “acting appropriately” during the negotiations.

“Many people have been asking what is going on with Harvard University and their large-scale improprieties that we have been addressing, looking for a solution,” the president wrote. “We have been working closely with Harvard, and it is very possible that a Deal will be announced over the next week or so.

“They have acted extremely appropriately during these negotiations, and appear to be committed to doing what is right,” he continued. “If a Settlement is made on the basis that is currently being discussed, it will be ‘mindbogglingly’ HISTORIC, and very good for our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Harvard has not commented on the ruling or the negotiations so far.”

  12. Personally, I agree with this – not in public schools. Parochial/private schools – have at it!

Just The News: “A federal appeals court on Friday upheld a lower court’s ruling that the Louisiana law requiring public schools to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms is unconstitutional. Louisiana last year became the first state to pass a law that would require public schools to display the Ten Commandments in “large, easily readable font” in every classroom.

The ruling comes after a group of nine Louisiana families sued the state’s education department and their local school boards over the state law. Supporters of the controversial law have pointed to the text’s influence on United States history as a reason to allow it, but opponents claim it infringes on the First Amendment and parents’ control over the religious upbringing of their children.

The judges unanimously ruled in favor of the families, agreeing that it was “facially unconstitutional.”

“Parents and students challenge a statute requiring public schools to permanently display the Ten Commandments in every classroom in Louisiana,” the court said in its ruling. “The district court found the statute facially unconstitutional and preliminarily enjoined its enforcement. We affirm.”

The ruling moves the case closer to the United States Supreme Court, which holds a 6-3 conservative majority.

The order comes as Texas prepares to enact a similar law, which was passed by both state chambers earlier this year.”

  13. what a pandering asshole! mass amnesty for 11 million illegals because being an illegal immigrant “is not a crime”.

    FTA

Democrat Representative Maxwell Frost (D-FL) has called for a pathway to citizenship for as many as 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, stating that “we should document every single one of them.” Frost, the son of a Haitian migrant and a Lebanese-descended Puerto Rican, made the announcement during a press conference in Orlando, Florida, where he also unveiled the anti-deportation Stop Unlawful Detention and End Mistreatment Act (SUDEM) bill.

The SUDEM Act aims to provide detainees, their families, and legal representatives with detailed information about detention locations, reasons, and the legal authority behind each case, tying up federal immigration officials in red tape. Frost bizarrely claimed that being an illegal immigrant “is not a crime” and advocated for a “speedy path to citizenship” as a supposed solution to the issue of illegal immigrants in the U.S.

Republican lawmakers criticized the proposal, with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) describing it as “blanket amnesty” and a “dangerous idea.” Johnson stated on X (formerly Twitter), “We must defend common sense and the rule of law.” Texas Representative Brandon Gill also weighed in, accusing Democrats of pushing mass amnesty to “rig congressional apportionment in their favor.”

While Frost remains committed to advancing his legislation and plans to seek co-sponsors in Washington, D.C., the bill is unlikely to gain traction in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. He has some support outside Congress, however, with far-left Late Show host Stephen Colbert inviting him on his show to promote the SUDEM bill and accuse ICE agents of kidnapping and human trafficking.

Immigration has been a key focus of President Donald J. Trump‘s policy agenda, with plans for increased border security, expanded deportations, and an end to federal benefits for illegal immigrants. Frost’s proposal comes amid heightened tensions over immigration enforcement, including violent protests and riots against recent ICE raids and legal challenges to the administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expedite deportations.

  14. “Michelle Obama Does Not Sound Well”

By: Beth Brelje, June 20, 2025

That she squanders her time with personal complaints about having to buy food in the White House and public commentary about not wanting a son who would turn out like her husband suggests she is not well.

Perhaps a frothy bubble bath, a spot of tea, and a cushy robe would help poor Michelle Obama work through her past traumas, like being married to former president Barack Obama and having to pay for food while living at the White House. Instead, she has been working out her imagined hardships in public interviews and podcasts, like a public therapy session nobody asked for.

Michelle lashed out at her husband in the cruelest way on this week’s podcast that she shares with her brother, IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, basically saying she would not want a child that turned out like him. Is there a higher insult one can give a spouse?

During a discussion about parenting sons, radio host and guest Angie Martinez told Michelle, a mother of two daughters, she should have had sons. Michelle recoiled at the thought.

“I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy! Because he would have been a Barack Obama. … No! I would have felt for him,” Michelle said, during an episode in which she offered nearly an hour of life coaching to the parents of sons.

This week’s conversation about sons was spurred on by what appeared to be a prewritten question about the podcast’s alleged listener’s 17-year-old son.

“I sometimes worry the environment around him pushes toxic forms of masculinity. His friends are over all the time. … I can’t help but overhear some of the stuff they talk about: girls being either hot or ugly, which guys are the best and worst at football. It seems like a verbal competition for who can be the toughest and most callous in the group,” listener Jessica said. “I feel like I’m seeing early stages of boys getting caught up in unhealthy ideas of what it means to be a man. The version of my son that I see with his friends is a lot different than the version I see without them. … What are the values you’ve worked to instill in your own sons to help them navigate all of this?

Hey, “Jessica,” if you want advice on raising sons, maybe don’t go to an apparently unstable woman who never had any, didn’t want any, and seems to have problems with masculinity. Even if she did have sons, Michelle Obama at this point in her life doesn’t seem to be in the best frame of mind to be giving family advice.

The podcast’s parenting episode was not the first time Michelle has complained about her husband. In a 2022 Revolt TV interview, she said she “couldn’t stand” Barack for about 10 years when the children were young. They have been married for 30 years, and for a third of their marriage she didn’t like him?

That was not a one-time comment. She repeated it again a few months ago on her podcast. “Sometimes people who date don’t realize that, you know, in long-term relationships, you’re going … to have deep, deep dips,” The former first lady said. “I tell people — and folks think this is harsh — you’re going to have a bad decade.”

Invite this former first couple to a dinner party, and someone is going to kick poor, unhinged Michelle under the table. It is bad etiquette to insult your spouse in public because it makes everyone uncomfortable and wounds your spouse. The nation doesn’t agree with Barack Obama’s politics, but his wife at least should have his back on a personal level. It appears that she doesn’t.

Another example that raises concerns about Michelle’s wellness is her recent complaint that, while in the White House her family had to (trigger warning) pay for their own food. Who does that? Oh wait, everyone who is not on SNAP pays for their own food. And when flying without the president, on the first lady’s airplane, the Obamas had to (trigger warning) pay for their daughters’ travel.

Isn’t that what taxpayers are for?

It all sounds really hard. No wonder she is back in therapy, as she disclosed on Jay Shetty’s podcast. On that podcast, and again on her own podcast this week, Michelle explained that she is “transitioning” from active parent to empty nester, and for the first time in her life she is calling the shots.

“I really feel like, at 60, this is the first time that all my decisions are for me. I don’t think that, you know, there has been a point in life — my life — where — at least after being married and having kids — that my choices were always somehow wrapped up in what they needed … and this is a period of freedom,” Michelle said in her podcast on parenting boys.

It is a bit crazy that she has not felt free before now, especially with an estimated net worth of $70 million, according to The Network Journal. Money offers freedom to pay for her daughters’ weddings without worry. Freedom to never worry about affording retirement. Freedom to buy a private island, to add to her collection of mansions, if she wants. That kind of scratch offers the freedom to do just about anything at all.

A lot of people would be satisfied with two grown daughters, a husband who became president, $70 million, and enough personal clout that people are interested in what her podcast has to say. She could do so much good with her voice. That she squanders her time with personal complaints about having to buy food in the White House and public commentary about not wanting a son who would turn out like her husband suggests she is not well.

The rest of us are just out here appreciating what we have, living basically happy lives, contributing more to the world than unsolicited advice from a troubled woman living a charmed life that she can’t stop complaining about.”

  15. “Are Popular Abortion Pills Poisoning Americans’ Tap Water?” [Along with a bunch of other nasty chemicals!]

The Federalist, By: Jordan Boyd, June 20, 2025

    tap water

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Despite rapidly increasing use of mifepristone, the ‘EPA has yet to review its potential contaminant effects.’

It is well established that the abortion drug regimen is harmful for women and fatal for unborn babies. A new letter to the Environmental Protection Agency, however, asks it to probe whether mifepristone pills and their “endocrine-disrupting effects” pose a danger to all Americans and even animals due to their potential contamination of U.S. drinking water.

In their request to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, Sen. James Lankford and Rep. Josh Brecheen ask the regulatory agency to consider “evaluating the potential contaminant effects of this drug as the agency develops the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule 6 (UCMR 6).”

“The American people deserve to know what contaminants might be present in their drinking water and their potential impacts on public health,” the letter states.

Mifepristone is the most popular abortifacient on the market. As the letter notes, its proliferation, which can be attributed to abortion giants such as Planned Parenthood and the elimination of safeguards that opened the door for mail-order abortifacients, is often understated due to the “unrecorded number” of DIY drug-induced abortions “performed without the oversight of a clinician.”

Despite rapidly increasing use of the abortion drug, the letter acknowledges that the “EPA has yet to review its potential contaminant effects.”

A 1996 evaluation from the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) revealed “Mifepristone may enter the environment from excretion by patients, from disposal of pharmaceutical waste, or from emissions from manufacturing sites.” CDER ultimately determined, however, that abortion pills likely do not have “adverse environmental effects.”

The Republicans suggest that conclusion is likely outdated because it happened “long before the exponential rise in at-home chemical abortions and widespread use” of what they referred to as the “potent progesterone blocker.”

“We request that the EPA study the impact of the ‘byproducts’ of mifepristone, such as the active metabolites that are entering our nation’s water system and threatening access to safe drinking water,” the letter reiterates.

Since the CDER’s analysis, at least one study confirmed that mifepristone contains several byproducts that remain active even after they are ingested and excreted. Even the fake fact-checkers at PolitiFact admit that the three metabolites in question are not “widely tracked like other contaminants.”

“If residual amounts of the drug and its metabolites persist in wastewater, prolonged exposure could potentially interfere with a person’s fertility, regardless of sex,” the letter warns. “We believe it is reckless to allow a known progesterone blocker to be flushed into America’s drinking water without knowing definitively if it impacts fertility rates.”

In addition to causing potential problems with development, reproduction, and immunity, these endocrine disruptors also appear to wreak havoc on aquatic animals, plants, and other creatures.

The Republicans conclude their letter by asking if mifepristone yields enough “potential health and environmental risks” to be regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act or evaluated by the EPA as a contaminant candidate. They also questioned how the EPA determines “which pharmaceuticals are studied” as potential contaminants, whether the EPA had looked into mifepristone before, and whether the agency is aware of the nearly 11 percent rate of serious adverse events recorded in women who took mifepristone. They gave Zeldin until August 17 to respond.

Students for Life of America previously filed a citizen petition alleging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration “did not conduct sufficient advanced studies on the impact Mifepristone could have on the nation’s water supply” at the time of its rushed approval in 2000.” The group’s attempt to prompt further investigation, however, was ultimately rejected.

Several states have also introduced legislation aimed at curbing the number of drug-aborted babies that are flushed into city waste systems, which send the chemicals that caused that abortion into the nation’s rivers and streams, instead of being placed in medical waste bags. The federal government, however, has yet to take any substantive action.”

      1. Screw Michael – I’m done with him! When I told him I would give him my ENTIRE stash of 4-5 bongs, paraphernalia, smoke, a grinder that was given to me by the hubby of a friend of mine who had died in VA – she wanted me to have it – and all kinds of stuff, oh, he was johnny on the spot. All in a beautiful leather box that my MIL gave me waaay back in 1981, as well as a wooden mosaic box given to me by one of the Egyptians. I also asked him to do a couple of things for me – trimming a sapling out of the Weigela bushes, trimming the trumpet vine a little bit, taking some pics of my flowers…..well, he was looking straight at the sapling and couldn’t figure out what to trim. I told him the one w/no blooms – he still couldn’t figure it out (supposedly); he couldn’t figure out how to use the camera with his fat fingers and kept hitting the video button or turning the camera off – I showed him 3 times what button to press; when he bent down, his back hurt and he got up bitching and moaning and complaining about Lori and all her crap stacked up. He had bought a new window a/c but couldn’t reach the window – so I said, move it and install the a/c…..”I don’t know why I should have to do that! and on and on and on – he just wanted to get the goodies and leave. Alrighty then! This man is NOT my friend!

  17. “Taking Options Off The Table: Tactical Nukes Against Iran?”

Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), Jun 21, 2025

“It is often said that a military commander should leave all options for military action on the table until the final decision is made. This strategy has the benefit of keeping the enemy off balance, not knowing what to expect. However, this strategy has drawbacks, and I will address why I believe that in this current situation the drawbacks far exceed the benefits, for one of those options.

First, I am deeply concerned by today’s article in Newsweek entitled “Is Donald Trump Considering Tactical Nukes Against Iran?” This issue has been raised because some former military officials have speculated on Cable News shows that only through the use of tactical nuclear weapons would we be able to successfully penetrate underground enrichment facilities in Iran. The Newsweek article quoted a Fox News report that a White House official said that the Trump Administration has “not taken anything off the table, including the use of tactical nuclear weapons.” It deserves restating that tactical nuclear weapons are nuclear weapons.

This type of maniacal reporting has been taken seriously by Russia, causing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to state the obvious — that any use of tactical nuclear weapons by the United States in Iran would be a catastrophic development.

A few days ago, Pakistan, a well-armed nuclear power, threatened to drop nuclear weapons on Israel if Israel used nuclear weapons on Iran. I don’t believe Pakistan is making an idle threat, and I do not want our country to be responsible for the destruction of Israel. This type of talk must end, immediately.

Tensions in the world are already too high, and leaving the use of nuclear weapons, “on the table” is preserving an option that I believe the United States would never employ. Allowing such open discussion about the U.S. initiating the use of nuclear weapons puts everyone at risk. As long as this possibility exists, other countries will be developing plans to counter-strike with nuclear weapons. When nuclear weapons are in play, even as a matter of speculation, the possibility of mistakes and miscalculations exists.

The first casualties of a nuclear mistake or miscalculation would be American troops on Middle East bases and American ships in the region – but it wouldn’t end there. Nuclear weapons have not been employed since World War II, and we cannot afford for this conflict to move the world “up the nuclear escalation ladder”.

If I were advising the President, I would recommend in the strongest possible terms, for him to declare that the United States will not initiate the use of nuclear weapons against Iran. I would not recommend waiting two weeks to make that announcement; I would urge him to do this now. It is time to slam shut and nail down the top on the Pandora’s box that contains dreaded nuclear weapons.”

  18. “The Israeli Campaign and its Effectiveness — AMERICA HAS MUCH AT STAKE”

Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), Jun 21, 2025

    ATTENTION!

I”srael struck Iran with a surprise attack on 12 June. There have been many reports out regarding the actions, reactions, and counteractions, all components of this war. The following is an assessment of the Israeli campaign and its effectiveness. America has a lot at stake here, never mind gaining or losing more prestige on the world stage. Let’s face it, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq did us no favors.

It is now clear Israel’s campaign consists of at least four phases:

    1. The initial surprise attack with a continuing series of airstrikes.

    2. Expected Iranian retaliation by Israel.

    3. Israel sustained operations

    4. Plans for and execution of escalation operations.

The evidence leans toward Israel achieving massive tactical successes, but strategic goals remain incomplete and there is controversy over the extent of damage to Iran’s nuclear program and U.S. involvement.

    Phases & Performance:

Overall: Israel’s campaign against Iran, appears to be progressing through multiple phases, each with varying levels of success.

Airstrike Phase: Israel launched a well-planned and coordinated airstrike targeting Iran’s nuclear sites like Natanz and Fordow, military installations, and key personnel, including top generals and nuclear scientists.

Performance: I assess this phase as highly effective, achieving air superiority and destroying over 130 strategic targets, including command centers and missile factories, within 48 hours.

Iran’s Retaliation Phase (clearly considered and prepared for by Israel): Iran responded with at least 10 waves of missile strikes and drone attacks, hitting Israeli sites such as a hospital and oil refinery, causing civilian casualties.

Performance: Iran’s efforts were largely ineffective, with about 90% of attacks intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome and U.S. systems, limiting damage despite some civilian impact.

Sustained Operations Phase: Israel is continuing to target specific Iranian assets, focusing on remaining nuclear facilities and high-value individuals, with ongoing operations as of the past 24 hrs.

Performance: I assess Israel is achieving mixed results. They are degrading Iran’s capabilities, key sites like Fordow appear to remain intact, requiring further action.

Escalatory Phase: There is a growing possibility of U.S. involvement, especially to target hardened sites like Fordow, which could significantly escalate the conflict and bring in other global and nuclear capable nations aligned against each other.

Performance: Uncertain at this phase due to required decisions from President Trump. There does not appear to be an American appetite for “boots on the ground” (rightly so in my judgement) and there is no apparent direct military action that can be confirmed at this stage, but there is significant support being provided.

Assessment: Israel has shown superior tactical dominance, an exquisite level of intelligence collection and targeting prowess (to be admired by warriors of this profession), BUT fully dismantling Iran’s nuclear program remains a massive challenge.

Bottom Line: The conflict will continue for many more weeks unless there is a cease fire of some sort agreed to and there remains clear potential for an even broader escalation.

My assessment, given the “unconditional surrender” call by our President, for success to be achieved, there will have to be a MINIMUM of three outcomes:

    1. NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

    2. New Iranian leadership (preferably chosen by the Iranian people).

    3. ALL Iranian proxies (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis) to be completely dismantled or, at least, severely diminished with no further support of any kind by Iran.

This has been an incredibly complex conflict with both tactical wins and select strategic uncertainties shaping its future. I guarantee the world is closely monitoring all military actions, diplomatic efforts, and international responses. For those who care about America’s Future, it will be crucial to understanding the various antagonists as well as the world’s responses as things further evolve (or erode).”

  20. Those bombers are beyond impressive!!!

Just The News: “Multiple U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit stealth bombers were deployed as the U.S. considers a potential strike against Iran, according to several reports. The bombers departed Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., on Saturday, according to Air & Space Forces Magazine.

President Donald Trump has said he will decide within two weeks whether to get involved in Israel’s attacks against Iran.

The final destination of the bombers is unclear at this time. Trump is expected to meet with his national security team on Saturday upon his return to the White House.”

  21. Sorry but I gotta complain a little bit…..I’m soooo tired of being sick! I still can’t taste things right – everything tastes blah or even worse, even the few things I could eat and enjoy before – can’t say it’s the smoking now! Even my yogurt doesn’t taste right now! I just can’t get away from the polyp in my sinus – it’s the ONLY thing it could be! And now I’m waiting for them to pop up with “EATING DISORDER!!!” BULL SHIT!!! I’m always cold – I was in my recliner with my hoodie on, and the blanket and took a nap. I need a lot of naps these days. Next thing I know, I’m drenched in sweat – literally dripping – and can’t get the hoodie and blanket off fast enough. 2 minutes later, I’m freezing again. I’ve always had unusually low blood pressure; my ribs hurt like hell, probably from the coughing to try to clear the sticky phlegm from my lungs. It gets stuck halfway and I almost choke on it…..sigh….I’M TIRED OF THIS SHIT!!!

  22. Alrighty then…..moving on!

Red State: “In this episode of “The Left Still Doesn’t Get It”…

Let’s just cut to the chase on this one. We (conservative political writers) have reported on oodles and oodles of examples of the left-wing-media sock puppets and their loathing of all things President Donald Trump, and virtually everything else them deem Trump-related. We will no doubt continue to write about more examples — including the following.

Enter, fired MSNBC host, Tiffany Cross. So yeah, Cross was summarily fired by MSNBC in 2022 — quite the feat, mind you, given the magnitude of Trump-hating drivel the failing outlet allows on-air — after calling Florida “the d*** of the country.”

Now enter, CNN. On an episode of CNN’s “NewsNight With Abby Phillip,” earlier this week, panelists idiotically debated (slammed) Trump’s handling of illegal aliens. The bilge not only led to panelist Cross spewing radical leftist talking points; but she also managed, in less than a minute (just 56 seconds), to suggest that First Lady Melania Trump is an “illegal” alien, and that Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security advisor, is racist.

Here’s how Cross’s spew went down (emphasis, mine):

I just want to remind the viewers, his [Trump’s] wife, herself a former nude model, got the Einstein Visa to come over here. Completely usurped the immigration system, what was her unique talent? I wonder, that she was able to get that?

Furthermore, he’s increasing these deportations because he’s trying to be competitive with his predecessor, who, I’m ashamed to say, Obama — who they called. Who they called ‘deporter in chief’ because he deported so many people. 430-something-thousand, I believe, was the height of the year 2013.

Classy, wasn’t it, of Cross to go straight to the “nude model” thing? And I won’t even bother to look into the facts of how many illegal aliens former President Barack Obama deported (or didn’t), but I do want to point out that Cross’ comments about Melania Trump’s “Einstein Visa” are misinformed.

The “Einstein Visa,” officially known as the EB-1A Visa, is an employment-based immigrant visa designed for individuals with extraordinary abilities in fields like science, arts, education, business, and athletics.

Apparently, Ms. Cross believes that strictly people like Pulitzer prize winners and top scientists are eligible to receive EB-1A visas, bless her TDS-riddled heart.”

  23. Red State: “…..Newsom and his allies sued, claiming Trump had no authority to federalize California’s National Guard. Judge Breyer agreed and issued a Temporary Restraining Order in favor of Newsom. The Justice Department immediately appealed to the Ninth Circuit, which quickly slapped down Breyer’s rather exotic take on the law.

Ordinarily, that would have ended the TRO and paused the action as the case was heard in court and then again on appeal. But these times are anything but ordinary. Across the country, activist judges are taking on patently illegal power to stymie federal actions. Federal judges are reinstating contracts when the law says they can’t. Judges are inventing rights in immigration cases in overtly unlawful ways. Rando judges out in Bumfuk, Iowa, are entering nationwide injunctions based on a single case. Rather than take the “L” and move on, Breyer took another pass at blocking Trump’s authority.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer put off issuing any additional rulings and instead asked for briefings from both sides by noon Monday on whether the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits troops from conducting civilian law enforcement on U.S. soil, is being violated in Los Angeles.

A posse comitatus is a term for an elected executive or sheriff deputizing private citizens to protect property or restore order. The Posse Comitatus Act was passed in the immediate aftermath of the Reconstruction Era and was a response to the excesses of occupation forces in the former Confederacy. Last updated in 2021, the Act is pretty simple: “Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.” In context, it refers to using the military for law enforcement purposes.

What makes Breyer’s decision sort of gobsmacking is 1) that the authority Trump used to federalize the California National Guard is a law passed by Congress that clearly anticipates the military serving as law enforcement (the phrase “enforce those laws” should be a clue) and 2) at no time in the proceeding did Newsom allege that Guardsmen had been used for law enforcement. Quite the contrary, the Ninth Circuit opinion observes, “The district court declined to address Plaintiffs’ ultra vires claim based on the Posse Comitatus Act, see 18 U.S.C. § 1385, because Plaintiffs conceded that using federal forces to protect federal personnel and property would not violate the Posse Comitatus Act and because Plaintiffs presented no evidence that National Guard members were engaged in any other activities.”

So Breyer is demanding a briefing on an issue that has not been alleged to have taken place, and, given the text of the relevant law, it is highly unlikely that it is even possible to do so because the law contemplates the military enforcing federal laws.

What’s afoot? My go-to on Trump legal battles, the Federalist’s Professor Margot Cleveland, says it is a delay.

Breyer will find he can [and] will find violation of Posse Comitatus Act [and] enter new injunction. He’ll try to keep 9th Cir. from overruling by making lots of “factual” findings re what Trump is doing w/ troops to find violation. He’s ordering briefing merely to appear open-minded, just like he did with TRO–he didn’t grant it but ordered briefing but at hearing clearly had decided Trump loses and 9th Cir. quickly overturned.

Whatever his motive, the root cause is lawlessness and hubris. When a circuit court judge finds himself moved to dispute a president’s finding on an issue that is squarely within his Article 2 powers and substitute his personal judgment and policy preference, the rule of law has come to an end. Unless Chief Justice John Roberts steps in and pushes the federal judiciary back into its lane, the obvious outcome is not the president meekly going along, it will be Andrew Jackson on meth and steroids: The courts have made their decision, now let them enforce it.”

  24. “While rainforests are vital ecosystems for various reasons, they are not the primary source of the Earth’s oxygen, and so the analogy of them being “the Earth’s lungs” is misleading.

Rainforests, including their animal inhabitants and decaying organic matter, consume roughly as much oxygen as they produce, resulting in a near-zero net contribution to atmospheric oxygen.

The vast majority of the oxygen in the Earth’s atmosphere is generated by marine algae in the oceans, not by trees or other terrestrial plants. Despite this, rainforests are incredibly important for reasons such as biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, and climate regulation, but oxygen production is not their main role. So there…”

  25. Hmmm…..guess you shouldn’t have hired illegals in the first place, eh? Hire American and pay a living wage!!!

There’s a report this morning that the situation has become more dire for livestock producers amid growing absenteeism among workers fearful of being detained. “Those cows, they have to be milked every eight hours, so if milkhands are gone, what are you going to do? It’s sheer panic.”

Dairy farms across Texas are struggling to maintain routine operations as both undocumented and legal workers stay home to avoid potential encounters with immigration authorities, according to Bloomberg News. The increased presence of ICE agents, combined with confusion over federal enforcement policy, has led to widespread uncertainty.

Though Trump briefly suggested farms might be spared, the Department of Homeland Security reaffirmed Thursday that agents are to target anyone in the country without legal status. “President Trump was elected on his promise to enforce federal immigration law and he is doing just that,” Abigail Jackson, a White House spokesperson said.”
