Today’s abandoned mansion is in Pennsylvania, Elkins Park to be exact—Lynnewood Hall. I found this article about this mansion on the Untapped Cities website. (I am presenting the article in two parts. This is part 1.)

From untappedcities.com:
Untapped New York made a visit to Lynnewood Hall to explore its many rooms and uncover a few of its secrets. We spoke extensively with VanScyoc and the Foundation’s Executive Director Edward Thome about the building’s history, its hidden gems, and the ambitious plans for its future. “There is such a rich history here, not just of the era of the Gilded Age and the family that lived here, but also of tradesmen, craftsmen, architecture…Think of all the stories that could be told,” VanScyoc mused. “It has an uncanny way of drawing you in and not letting you go,” said Thome, who has been mesmerized by the building since he was just 11 years old. While there are fascinating stories to be found around every corner of the massive building, we’ve picked out a few of our favorites to expand upon here. Read on to learn more about this stunning estate (and see photos from inside), from its tragic ties to the Titanic to its hidden room full of safes, mysterious tunnel system, and how you can visit!
1. The Art Galleries Had a Museum-Worthy Lighting System

The original owner of Lynnewood Hall, Peter A.B. Widener, died with a personal fortune that would have been worth tens of billions of dollars today and a museum-worthy art collection, but he came from humble beginnings. Born to a butcher in West Philadelphia, Widener also went into the meat business. His first big break in business was winning a contract to supply mutton to Union troops during the Civil War. He used his earnings to invest in street car lines and moved his way up the political ladder in Philadelphia until he became City Treasurer. He had holdings in foundational American companies such as U.S. Steel, American Tobacco Company, and Standard Oil. Though Widener was one of the wealthiest Americans to ever live, his money couldn’t insulate him from tragedy.
After his wife, Hannah Josephine Dunton, died in 1896, Widener realized he wanted to keep his family close. He commissioned architect Horace Trumbauer to build a home large enough to house the families of Widener’s two sons, George and Joseph, and his own expensive art collection. “Lynnewood is the home that art built,” VanScyoc said, noting how important the art collection was to the family. Widener began collecting art around 1885 and by the time Lynnewood was complete in 1899, he had amassed a collection of priceless masterpieces that included paintings by Raphael, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Gainsborough, and more. The collecting bug was passed on to his son, Joseph, who expanded on his father’s collection.
Widener arranged his works of art in five different galleries throughout his home, one on the first floor and four on the second floor. Each gallery was designed to display specific works based on the artist and style. To ensure the safety of his prized collection and to show the pieces in the best (literal) light, Widener had his home built with the latest technology. “Even though the building is a classical piece of architecture, it’s very technologically advanced,” VanScyoc said.
The main gallery, for instance, is surrounded by walls of concrete 2 feet thick as a fire precaution. The galleries on the second floor were lit by diffused skylights. Above the skylights, there is a mechanical system of long fins that can be adjusted to direct sunlight as the sun changes position in the sky throughout the day. The gallery skylight is also rigged to a ventilation system that allows a person to turn one wheel and simultaneously open a series of glass panels to let air flow.

The art galleries were named after Widener’s favorite artists, including Rembrandt, Raphael, Cellini, and van Dyck. Within each, paintings were displayed on red velvet walls, the remnants of which you can see hanging throughout the galleries today. In the Cellini room, niches in the walls housed precious jewelry items crafted by the Italian goldsmith Benvenuto Cellini. The Rembrandt Room held all Rembrandts. The van Dyck room, which is VanScyoc’s favorite, was also Widener’s favorite. It once held a portrait of Widener by John Singer Sargent. “Restoration would make these galleries the preeminent galleries in the country,” said Thome.
During the Depression, the Wideners opened their art galleries to the public so that anyone who wanted to could see the treasures inside. The philanthropically minded Joseph Widener bequeathed the family’s art collection, over 2,000 items, to the National Gallery in D.C. where you can see many of the items on display today. That creative and philanthropic spirit will be carried on in the estate’s future.
2. A Hidden Room Full of Safes Doesn’t Appear on Floorplans

While working to clean up the mansion and learn more about it, the Preservation Foundation has made many surprising discoveries. One such hidden gem they’ve found is a room full of individually locked safes. It is tucked away behind the Butler’s Pantry and squeezed between the first and second floors and is the only room in the mansion that doesn’t appear on floor plans. There are fourteen safes in total, each lined with a dark blue velvet. These safes likely held the finest pieces of silver from the Widener’s dinner service. Unfortunately, no long-forgotten treasures were found inside when they were opened.
3. Underground Tunnels and Buried Gardens

The Lynnewood Hall Estate didn’t just include the 100,000-square-foot mansion and the nearly 35 acres of land it sits on today. It originally covered 300 acres. On that land were two structures that still exist – Lynnewood Lodge (the former stables) and the Gatehouse – as well as a lost farm, a Normandy-style village for the staff, a powerplant, greenhouses, a polo field, and more. Snaking below the property is a large system of underground tunnels. VanScyoc told Untapped New York that the tunnel system may be even larger than they know. One branch of the tunnel system definitely goes from the basement of the main house to the central fountain in the front yard. A few manhole covers have been found around the property, but there may be more to uncover.
Another fun fact about the land is that the original gardens were buried. Upon the death of Peter Widener, his son Joseph inherited the property. Joseph and his father had slightly different tastes when it came to architecture and landscape design. Peter’s original landscaping for Lynnewood Hall was of an Italianate style with sunken gardens lined by balustrades. After Peter died, the sunken gardens were filled in and topped with a formal French garden.
4. Secret Doors and the Abraham Lincoln Couch

The smoking room is full of secrets! Take a peek at the right-hand side of the photo above. In the bookcase to the right of the mirror, you can see a hidden door. The door leads to a marble-clad bathroom for the gentlemen who would have enjoyed lounging in this space. The right side of that bookcase actually hides more shelves behind it, complete with false book spines. Throughout Lynnewood Hall there are many hidden doors, usually disguised as mirrors. Some doors are also fake. Rather than opening, they are simply built against a wall and give the illusion of an entryway.
The couch in the smoking room is called the Abraham Lincoln couch because, so the story goes, Lincoln once sat in it. The couch, which is not original to the home, is allegedly from the New York Governor’s mansion and was graced by Lincoln’s rear end when he came to visit.
5. Tragic Ties to the Titanic

Many wealthy 19th-century families, the Wideners were touched by the tragedy of the Titanic. The family of Peter’s eldest son, George, booked tickets on the Titanic for their return trip from Paris. George and his wife Eleanor owned the Philadelphia Ritz-Carlton, so they were traveling to Europe to find a new chef for the hotel. They also needed to pick up a wedding trousseau for their daughter Josephine and some rare books for their son Harry. Harry, George’s valet Edwin Keeping, and Eleanor’s ladies maid Amalia Geigerhey went along for the trip. When the Titanic sank, George, Harry, and Edwin sadly lost their lives. Eleanor and Amalia made it safely to New York. This tragedy has long been one of the things that Lynnewood is most known for, but there is much more to the story of the Wideners and their opulent home.

Morning, Pat! As far as I’m concerned, such opulence is a waste of $$$. Ridiculous! As for art…..yeah, no thanks! I think most of the so-called masterpieces are ugly, frankly. Still cloudy and cold here, too – only 47 at the moment – with more rain in the coming days. Dreary and depressing! All the heavy rain has played havoc with my lopes – all the seedlings were beat down and bent over. ENOUGH!!! The seed block is almost gone already & I had to refill the jelly again.

I think something like this house would make a cool hotel to b&b for themed weekends…jmo.

BREAKING: Justice Department Opens Criminal Investigation Into Andrew Cuomo
[emphasis mine]
The Justice Department opened a criminal investigation into former New York governor – and current NYC Mayoral front-runner – Andrew Cuomo over his testimony on nursing home deaths during the Covid pandemic.
Last month House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent a resubmitted criminal referral to Attorney General Pam Bondi, demanding the Department of Justice pursue charges against disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for lying under oath during pandemic-era investigations.
The letter, addressed directly to AG Pam Bondi, accused Cuomo of violating 18 U.S.C. §1001, a federal statute prohibiting false statements to Congress…
TGP reported multiple times in 2020 how Governor Cuomo in New York implemented programs that ordered sick COVID patients back into elderly homes in the state. As a result, thousands of elderly people needlessly died in the state.
Then when the official counts of deaths in state nursing homes were requested from the DOJ, the numbers were fudged. The numbers reported were about 50% less than the real counts.
An investigation into Cuomo’s actions was put in place and Cuomo resigned as governor of the state. However, the investigation into illegal actions by Cuomo related to the huge number of nursing home deaths was dropped by both the Biden DOJ and the Manhattan DA.
“Andrew Cuomo is a man with a history of corruption and deceit, now caught red-handed lying to Congress during the Select Subcommittee’s investigation into the COVID-19 nursing home tragedy in New York,” said Chairman Comer.
Read to the letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi here. The full criminal referral can be found here and an additional supporting transcript can be found here. Review former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s transcribed interview transcript here…
Cuomo is under investigation by the DC US Attorney’s Office, according to The New York Times.
The investigation was launched last month when Ed Martin was Acting DC US Attorney. Jeanine Pirro is currently the interim DC US Attorney.

I don’t agree with this at all! NO OFF-SHORE WIND FARMS!!! SMH – especially based on just a “promise” and “assurances” from that beyotch, Hochul!!!
EXCERPT: “President Donald Trump ordered his administration to lift an April stop work order halting a massive offshore wind farm being constructed off the coast of New York in exchange for the advancement of two natural gas pipeline projects, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum struck the deal over the weekend during a phone call with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D.), a senior White House official told the Free Beacon on Tuesday. Following that call, on Monday, the Interior Department formally removed its order halting foreign energy developer Equinor’s $5 billion Empire Wind project, which is being built about 12 nautical miles south of Long Island, N.Y., and consists of dozens of turbines.
Hochul immediately declared victory—”I fought to save clean energy jobs in New York, and we got it done,” she said—but acknowledged in her statement she had agreed to work with federal and private entities to permit new energy projects that promote reliability and affordability for consumers. “We will be working in earnest to deliver on these objectives,” Hochul continued.
While she did not initially specify which projects she would advance, the senior White House official confirmed to the Free Beacon that Trump received assurances on two natural gas pipeline projects proposed for New York: the Northeast Supply Enhancement Pipeline and Constitution Pipeline. Both would boost fossil fuel electricity generation in the state, but have faced significant opposition from environmental groups and, until now, state leaders, including Hochul…..”

You guys we still need prayer. A couple hours ago they said Josiah needed to accept blood products or there was a 70% chance he’d die in 2 days. He was going into hemorrhagic shock. They are trying to localize his GI bleeding but haven’t definitively done so yet.
he might need an ultrasound guided vascular procedure, endoscopic one, and/or a colonoscopy. They might be transferring him to the ICU too depending. It’s a long and rather scary night AND we are both very tired.
hope he can get out in under a week so he can make it to Mom’s visitation & funeral.
I tried to give dedicated blood to/for him but that process takes at least a week. He’s starting with 2 units AND they don’t screen blood for “vax” issues. I’m going to need help on putting together detox protocols after we get him home! Falling over exhausted on many levels 🙏🙏
Thanks again for praying for me & my family. Thankfully Josiah’s vitals are now holding stable…Though he still has significant blood in his stool…sigh…

NF: I was confused as to why AARP would be suing President Trump. This is highly misleading and it isn’t AARP at all!!!
“Statement to Provide Clarity on Litigation Unrelated to AARP, Confusingly Called “A.A.R.P. v. Trump”
WASHINGTON– AARP Vice President of External Relations Sarah Lovenheim released the following statement in regards to federal litigation, confusingly called “A.A.R.P. v. Trump”:
“AARP has no involvement in litigation at the Supreme Court using “A.A.R.P.” as a pseudonym, and takes no position on the matters at issue. AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to advocating for Americans aged 50 and older. However, the use of “A.A.R.P.” as a pseudonym has caused significant confusion among the media and the public, mistakenly suggesting our affiliation with the case.
“To prevent misunderstanding, AARP filed a motion to intervene in District Court for the limited purpose of changing the “A.A.R.P.” pseudonym. The District Court granted this request. On April 21, the name of the case – at AARP’s request – changed to W.M.M., et al. v. Donald J. Trump.
“We remain committed to clarity and transparency in all legal and advocacy matters that bear our name.” ###
Fifth Circuit Assigns A.A.R.P. v. Trump To New Panel For Reargument, Judge Ho Concurs
Our Take: It’s a concurrence but Judge Ho isn’t happy about it. This is the case where the court was given 42 minute to rule before the ACLU jumped to the Supreme Court, who inexplicably sided with the lawfare.
“I worry that the disrespect they have been shown will not inspire continued respect for the judiciary, without which we cannot long function.”

EXCERPT: “On Sunday, the House Budget Committee voted 17-16 to advance President Trump’s “one, big, beautiful bill,” and it achieves a goal social conservatives have had for years: It finally defunds Big Abortion.
No Medicaid dollars “shall be used to make payments to a prohibited entity for items and services furnished during a 10-year period,” the bill states. It defines a prohibited entity as any 501(c)(3) charitable organization that “is primarily engaged in family planning services, reproductive health, and related medical care,” “provides for abortions,” and exceeded $1 million in Medicaid dollars in 2024.
Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest provider of abortions, released its latest annual report on Monday, May 12. The report shows exactly why this pro-life measure must remain in the final budget reconciliation bill. In the last two years, Planned Parenthood — an ostensibly “nonprofit organization” — earned a stunning $206 million in profit, its own numbers reveal. Much of that is thanks to hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars flowing into its coffers.
Last year, the organization took in $792.2 million from government grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements — over $2 million a day, and approaching half its total revenue. What did the American taxpayer receive for their generous contributions? More abortions. Fewer services. Fewer breast exams and pap tests. And fewer prenatal services.
The number of abortions Planned Parenthood performs continues to increase, reaching a staggering 402,200 last year. Meanwhile, the organizations’ cancer screening and prevention services have dropped by 54 percent since 2013, including declines of 61 percent for breast exams and 54 percent for pap tests.
To reiterate, Planned Parenthood snuffs out the lives of nearly half a million babies annually, depriving them of any chance at life. This is a great moral travesty, and most Americans want nothing to do with it.
According to a Marist poll released earlier this year, 57 percent of Americans, including 54 percent of women, oppose using tax dollars to fund abortion. But every single dollar that flows to Planned Parenthood enables the abortion giant to expand its abortion empire…..”

“Hegseth Launches Special Task Force To Investigate Biden’s ‘Chaotic’ Afghanistan Withdrawal”
The Federalist, By: Shawn Fleetwood, May 20, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the creation of a special review panel on Tuesday to investigate the Biden administration’s “chaotic” 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.
“President Trump and I have formally pledged full transparency for what transpired during our military withdrawal from Afghanistan. The Department of Defense has an obligation, both to the American people and to the warfighters who sacrificed their youth in Afghanistan, to get to the facts,” Hegseth wrote in an agency memo released on Tuesday.
In his directive, Hegseth disclosed that the Defense Department has been conducting “a review” throughout the past three months of what the secretary described as a “catastrophic event in our military’s history.” Based on the probe’s findings, Hegseth “concluded that we need to conduct a comprehensive review to ensure that accountability for this event is met and that the complete picture is provided to the American people.”
The memo tasks Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and Senior Advisor Sean Parnell to “convene a Special Review Panel (SRP) for the Department who will thoroughly examine previous investigations.” As noted in a Defense Department press release, Parnell spent 485 days stationed in Afghanistan and was “wounded in action” along with many of his fellow soldiers.
According to the directive, the agency’s Parnell-led investigation will “include but [is] not limited to, findings of fact, sources, witnesses, and analyz[ing] the decision making that led to one of America’s darkest and deadliest international moments.”
“This team will ensure ACCOUNTABILITY to the American people and the warfighters of our great Nation,” Hegseth wrote. As highlighted in the memo, the consequences stemming from the Biden-led withdrawal from Afghanistan were severe.
The disastrous pullout led to the deaths of 13 American service members and resulted in billions of dollars’ worth of U.S. military equipment ending up in the hands of the Taliban. As The Federalist’s John Daniel Davidson previously reported, members of the terrorist group flaunted their possession of such weaponry while marching in their “‘Victory Day’ parade” in Kabul.
President Trump is among the numerous public officials to criticize the Biden administration’s withdrawal from the region. During his October 2024 interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, Trump blasted Biden for the “horribly” managed pullout, pointing to the decision to withdraw American military personnel before all U.S. civilians were evacuated from the country.
“Number one, you take the soldiers out last, not first. … That was their big mistake,” Trump said. Biden “left the equipment behind, 13 soldiers dead [because of it], but he took everybody out. He took his soldiers out before — a child would know [better].”

“Secretary of State Marco Rubio clashed with Hillary Clinton’s former running mate Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia Tuesday over the Trump administration’s decision to declare Afrikaner farmers as refugees.
The Trump administration granted refugee status to the white South African farmers in a Feb. 7 executive order issued by President Donald Trump. During a hearing held by the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, Kaine questioned Rubio about the decision.
“Can you have a different standard based upon the color of somebody’s skin? Would that be acceptable?” Kaine asked Rubio, who shot back, “I’m not the one arguing that. Apparently, you are, because you don’t like the fact that they’re white.”
WATCH: https://rumble.com/v6tmy83-hillarys-very-special-boy-thought-he-had-rubio-on-the-ropes.-he-didnt.html
White House Senior Advisor Elon Musk has called out South African politicians for anti-white rhetoric, including one known for leading people in a song called, “Kill the Boer.”
“The United States has a right to pick and choose who they allow into the United States,” Rubio said, with Kaine responding, “Based on the color of somebody’s skin?”
“You’re the one that’s talking about the color of their skin, not me,” Rubio shot back. “These are people whose farms are being burned down and they were being killed because of the color of their skin.”
Kaine and Rubio then clashed some more over immigration policy. Trump ordered a review of American refugee admissions on Jan. 20, freezing many admissions.
“Our immigration policy should be based on the national interest of the United States Period. End of story. If there is a subset of people that are easier to vet who, we have a better understanding of who they are and what they’re going to do when they come here, they’re going to receive preference, no doubt about it,” Rubio said. “There are a lot of sad stories around the world, millions and millions of people around the world. It’s heartbreaking. We cannot assume millions and millions of people around the world. No country can.”

Some context for this 🧵:
Last year, Tulsi Gabbard was secretly placed on a terrorist watch list called Quiet Skies by the Biden administration—with no explanation.
Many on the left accused her of lying.
Today, at a Senate hearing, Rand Paul confirmed he saw records proving she was indeed put on the list.
“Just last night, I received the first set of records from the department regarding Tulsi Gabbard’s placement on the TSA Quiet Skies watch list.”
“These documents confirm our suspicions.”

It probably looked something like this:

That sounds terrible, and it seems like it would fit right into the mainstream media’s Trump bashing narrative. But the reason it’s not making those rounds is because of what happened next.
Once the ICE agents saw he was a citizen, they immediately returned him to the courthouse and let him go. Monteiro’s response to the incident shows exactly why Trump got elected and still has great approval numbers.

“Marco Rubio Rocks and Will Be President One Day”
Hot Air, David Strom, May 21, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “J.D. Vance may be Vice President, but Marco Rubio is the Deputy President, currently holding FOUR JOBS in the administration, including the all-important Secretary of State position as well as the National Security Advisor.
Rubio has joked that the job he really wants to add to his portfolio is Librarian of Congress, but Trump doesn’t control the legislative branch, so that seems out of reach for now.
Rubio’s portfolio has expanded so much because he is just THAT good. Far from being the “squish” that so many MAGA folks feared he would be, Rubio has proven to be both brilliant at his job and a street fighter when it matters. For all the love that many people have for street fighters–everybody wants a gladiator to fight for them–the combination of competence and controlled aggression is pretty rare.
Rubio has always been associated with the neocon faction of the Republican Party, but MAGA has warmed up to him as they realize that he is more of a “Peace through Strength” Republican than a “let’s bomb some new country today” old-style neocon. His performance has fit well with Trump’s America First agenda, while still appealing to Republicans who find Trump’s rhetoric and seemingly mercurial nature unsettling.
Personally, I think that Trump’s confidence in Rubio shows that he isn’t so much mercurial as sly–playing the “bad cop” to great effect. Rubio gives no quarter to the demagogues whose standard for allowing migrants in seems to be “the worst shall be first.”
Rubio’s take-no-prisoners approach has won him many MAGA converts, and I find it difficult to believe that he could be this effective in his role without really being the guy he appears to be. This can’t be faked–the passion is real, and his patience with political gamesmanship seems to be used up.
To the doubters who wonder at the apparent differences between the current Rubio and his more politic persona in the Senate I will repeat a phrase that often came up in my “education” in political science (yes, an oxymoron): “where you stand depends on where you sit.”
The meaning? Every position of power has constraints unique to it, so what is appropriate for a House member may be different from that of a Senator, and what seems appropriate for a Senator may not be for a President or Secretary of State.
Well, there are few people as close to acting as a president aside from Trump, and Marco Rubio is the top dog in that category. J.D. Vance is clearly in the mix, and I like him quite a bit. But Rubio is tested with the exercise of real power every day, and he is passing that test with flying colors.”

“Canada Might Begin Euthanizing Kids Without Parental Consent”
PJ Media, Catherine Salgado, May 20, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Some of the politicians in the increasingly Communist and dictatorial country of Canada are reportedly still considering allowing kids to be euthanized — even without parental consent. That is outright murder.
It is incredible how everyone can agree that children and teens are not of age to decide they can get tattoos or drink alcohol, and leftists lose their minds at the proposal that minors should learn how to handle firearms safely. But at the same time, leftists screech that kids should be able to choose to receive cross-sex hormones and even permanently mutilating surgeries for “transgenderism” from the earliest ages. And in the future, apparently, the kids who are banned from buying cigarettes might be able to request suicide without their parents knowing.
The argument for allowing minors to access Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAiD) program has been raised before, for instance, in 2023, when a tabled House of Commons of Canada report was supposed to have recommended expanding MAiD to minors. The vague and terrifying claim was that “minors deemed to have the appropriate decision-making capacity should be eligible for assisted death.”
A 2024 brochure still circulating from The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, which opposes MAiD, says the following on “MAiD for children and teens”:
And if you aren’t already horrified enough, read on:
Suicide is morally wrong, but it should also be obvious that allowing a socialist medical system and government the power to pressure patients to commit suicide and assist them in killing themselves is terribly dangerous and easily abused. And it’s that much more dangerous if children are considered eligible. We know that in Western countries, children have been taken off life support against parental wishes before because hospitals didn’t want to care for them, or — if another hospital was willing to provide care — because the tyrannical doctors and judges arbitrarily deemed the child’s life without value.
For instance, in 2017, parents wanted to take their son Charlie from Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London to the United States for a therapy trial. The hospital insisted Charlie be taken off life support in London instead, and the European Court of Human Rights rejected the parents’ plea. Likewise, in 2018, British baby Alfie Evans was taken off life support against parents’ wishes and despite Italy expressing willingness to care for Alfie.
Leftism really is a death cult. Leftists are making the once-free West a truly terrifying place to live. The forced eugenics of the early 20th century is returning with a vengeance and with more effectively genocidal technology than ever.”

Breaking: Senate Report Exposes How Federal Health Officials ‘Downplayed’ COVID Vaccine Risks, Failed to Warn Public — The report, issued today by the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, reveals previously redacted information from government records recently obtained by subpoena and by earlier requests under the Freedom of Information Act. The committee will hold a hearing later today.
by Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D., May 21, 2025
EXCERPT: “Public health officials under the Biden administration failed to warn the public of the myocarditis risk associated with COVID-19 vaccines and actively downplayed that risk, according to a U.S. Senate report released today.
The report, issued by the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, reveals previously redacted information from government records recently obtained by subpoena and by earlier requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
The records show how U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials under Biden avoided issuing a formal warning to the American public despite a safety signal that the COVID-19 vaccines could cause myocarditis and pericarditis, especially in young men.
Later today, the subcommittee will hold a hearing entitled, “The Corruption of Science and Federal Health Agencies: How Health Officials Downplayed and Hid Myocarditis and Other Adverse Events Associated with the COVID-19 Vaccines.”
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), the subcommittee chair, wrote in the report’s executive summary that the records reveal three facts:
In addition to the report, Johnson today also released the more than 2,400 pages of documents obtained by his subpoena to HHS. “Sadly, this report confirms what we have long suspected and proven,” said Children’s Health Defense (CHD) CEO Mary Holland. “It underscores the aberrant science and extreme cover-ups that were endemic during the COVID era.”
Holland cited a peer-reviewed study published in October 2022, by CHD Senior Research Scientist Karl Jablonowski and CHD Chief Scientific Officer Brian Hooker, showing that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) knew there was a safety “signal” for myocarditis more than three months before warning the public.
The study documented that as early as Feb. 19, 2021, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), co-managed by the CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), showed a strong, statistically significant vaccine adverse event “signal” for myocarditis in males 8-21 years of age. Yet the CDC waited until late May 2021 to alert the public.
According to the report released today, the CDC first warned the public on May 28, 2021, by posting an online “clinical considerations” note about myocarditis risk for COVID-19 vaccines.
The report also revealed that the CDC initially considered issuing a more formal public alert that would have been sent to healthcare practitioners nationwide via its Health Action Network. However, agency officials decided against it…..”

“Man attacked by gang in Berlin after revealing he is a Christian: Police are investigating a suspected hate crime after a 24-year-old beaten in Berlin’s multicultural district of Wedding by a group of five men after he revealed he is a Christian”
ReMIX News, Thomas Brooke, May 21, 2025

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “A 24-year-old man was assaulted in Berlin’s Wedding district late Monday night after telling a group of men that he was a Christian, police confirmed on Tuesday. The state security division of the Berlin police is now handling the investigation, treating the attack as a religiously motivated hate crime.
According to the police report, passers-by found the victim collapsed on the roadway at the intersection of Müllerstraße and Seestraße around 10:45 p.m.
Emergency services were called to the scene and transported the man to hospital for treatment of a facial injury, which was later handled on an outpatient basis.
During questioning, the victim stated that he had been approached by five unknown men who asked about his religious affiliation. When he told them that he had been baptized Christian, the men allegedly responded by beating him. The suspects then fled the scene and remain at large.
A police spokesperson said, “The 24-year-old later stated that he had been asked by five unknown persons about his religious affiliation. After he replied that he had been baptized as a Christian, the unknown persons are said to have hit him several times on the head.”
The case has now been handed over to the State Security Police of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office due to the suspected anti-Christian motive behind the attack. No arrests have been made so far.
Wedding is a diverse district in the borough of Mitte, described by the Berlin tourist board as a “cultural melting pot.” A former working-class hub, the locality is now dominated by foreigners — 55.4 percent of residents have a migration background, with Turks, North Africans, and Arabs comprising the largest share.
The district made headlines in 2023 when 110 seniors were evicted from a nursing home by a Christian organization to make room for asylum seekers.”

Bummer! Thanks to all this nasty, cold and windy weather, I’m going to have to replace some of the annuals I bought. Only 1 of the 4 petunias in the hanging baskets looks like it survived…..sigh….the rest look like they’re ok. Oooh, my Weigela bushes are starting to bloom!

I tried a wiegela bush when we first moved here because they were gorgeous in the photos but it didn’t last. they are really pretty!

Yeah, they can be a little tricky. I originally ordered 3 of them and one of them died – thankfully, they replaced it at no charge. But once they get going, they’re gorgeous. I have 2 pink and 1 white and the pink ones always bloom sooner and more prolifically than the white one. They and the Trumpet Vines are the first things I planted, along with the Lily of the Valley, 12 years ago.

everything we plant (not in a garden or fenced in) gets eaten the first year. the animals have to all taste it to see if its any good. if it’s hardy, and comes back the second year, it usually stands a chance. but in hard winters? they’ll eat anything and everything.

Just the News: “President Donald Trump on Wendesday confronted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with footage of South African politicians advocating for violence against the white population of the country after he attempted to deny claims of a genocide in his country.
The United States recently welcomed a small number of white South Africans as refugees as scrutiny over the nation’s plans for land reform, including via the seizure of farmland without compensation, fuel further fears of discrimination.
After Ramaphosa attempted to defend his plans, Trump wheeled in a TV showing footage of a rally of Julius Malema, a member of the South African legislature and leader of a communist movement within the country. The footage included Malema leading a crowd in a rendition of “Kill the Boer” a song advocating for explicit racial violence.
Boers are a Dutch-descended group of White Africans.
Trump, for his part, lamented the situation, expressing incredulity that government leaders would call for such explicit murder.
“And these are people that are officials, and they’re saying that kill the white farmer and take their land,” he said. “And I have other friends in South Africa, people that left, one in particular that says it’s you can’t go there. He said they want to take your land, your land, and they kill you. It’s okay. And they say it’s okay to do now. We’re going to talk about it.”

Just The News: “The Department of Defense said Wednesday that the U.S. has officially accepted a luxury jet from Qatar to use as Air Force One.
“The secretary of defense has accepted a Boeing 747 from Qatar in accordance with all federal rules and regulations,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell told ABC News in a statement.
“The Department of Defense will work to ensure proper security measures and functional-mission requirements are considered for an aircraft used to transport the president of the United States,” he also said
The deal that President Trump made with Qatar regarding the jet, reportedly worth $400 million, will allow him to temporarily replace the 40-year-old Air Force One and keep it as part of his presidential library.”

“Democratic Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey lost Tuesday’s mayoral primary election to the comparatively moderate Democratic Allegheny County Controller Corey O’Connor, dealing a blow to the Democratic Party’s left flank.
Gainey, who took office in January 2022, conceded the race on Tuesday night after projected results showed O’Connor as the winner, according to The Associated Press. Gainey centered his campaign around priorities that included opposing the Trump administration, hiring more black people to the police force and making the city use only renewable energy by 2030.
“A loss is not final,” Gainey said in his concession speech Tuesday night before stating that left-wing politics are not going anywhere. “See, they know there’s a new coalition on the rise.”
“We didn’t put a crack in the glass ceiling; we shattered it,” Gainey said.
The mayor’s term ends in January 2026 after the November mayoral election, in which O’Connor will run against Republican Tony Moreno, a retired police officer, according to the AP. O’Connor’s primary victory almost guarantees he will win the general election in November.
The son of a former Pittsburgh mayor, O’Connor attacked Gainey’s record on public safety, spending and other issues, his campaign website shows. O’Connor argued that Gainey brought the city toward a financial crisis and emphasized frequent turnover at the police department, which lost hundreds of officers and saw five different chiefs in recent years, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
O’Connor also said crucial city vehicles such as ambulances continue to break down and need to be replaced, the AP reported.
Some of the starkest differences between the two candidates had to do with law enforcement, campaign statements show. Gainey’s campaign boasted that he “hired the city’s first unarmed community service aides” to respond to non-violent situations normally meant for police and that he would recruit more social workers to handle some police functions. O’Connor, meanwhile, pushed for hiring more neighborhood police officers and funding resources for police to better handle emergencies.
O’Connor raised three times as much cash as Gainey ahead of the election, the Post-Gazette reported.
“We built this campaign with and for the people of this city, neighborhood by neighborhood,” O’Connor posted on X Tuesday night. “I’m proud to be your Democratic nominee for Mayor. I’m ready to get to work, and I’m grateful to have you with me as we take the next steps forward, together.”
Elsewhere in Pennsylvania, Tuesday night brought a win for the far left as Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner won his Democratic primary race against a challenger who embraced tough-on-crime rhetoric. Krasner’s primary victory means the leftist reform-minded prosecutor will most likely win a third term in the strongly Democratic city.”

Well, that was nice! Finally, a pleasant phone call with my Mom. She finally got the appointment to get her back treatment next month – IDK exactly what they’ll do, some special back doctor, but supposedly it will help with her pain. Then we got to talking about the birds and I told her about the slinky keeping the squirrels out. She is going to try to find one, as well as a seed feeder with a cage like mine that keeps the big birds & squirrels out, then I will go down and help get it set up. She even offered to cook me dinner one night! As long as we avoid any talk of politics….actually, I think I’ll go to WM tomorrow after Jason mows and puts in the t-posts to see if I can find them for her and surprise her. An early BD present….

Details about the security issue have not been released so far, but the incident has been resolved and all 339 passengers on board the United Airlines flight were rebooked on a separate flight, according to NBC Los Angeles.
“United flight 1169 from Honolulu to Los Angeles returned safely to Honolulu after a potential security concern was found written on a lavatory mirror,” United said. “Law enforcement met the aircraft, and a security sweep was conducted.”
The flight returned at approximately 1:35 a.m. local time. It is not clear if anyone has been arrested for the incident.
Wednesday’s incident occurred the day after a different passenger was arrested on a Hawaii Airlines flight for an alleged bomb scare. The flight was expected to depart San Diego, California, to fly to Honolulu. However, authorities found “nothing suspicious” on the plane.”
