What Shall We Make Today?

Today’s offering Is Oreo Mousse Cake! The recipe calls for whipping cream and confectioner’s sugar to make the cake, and I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but when I do, I will try using Cool Whip instead.  I’ll let you know the results.

Ingredients

1 package (14.3 ounces) Oreo cookies, crushed

1/3 cup butter, melted

8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

3 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar

Additional whole or crushed Oreos, optional

Directions

In a small bowl, mix 2 cups crushed cookies and butter. Press onto bottom of a greased 9-in. springform pan. Refrigerate until ready to use.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate on high just until melted; stir until smooth. Cool to room temperature.

In another bowl, beat cream and confectioners’ sugar until stiff peaks form; fold 4 cups into cooled chocolate. Spread over crust. Spread remaining whipped cream over top. Cover and refrigerate until set, about 3 hours. If desired, garnish with additional Oreos.

ENJOY!

Wisconsin Judge Indicted for Assisting Illegal Alien Avoid ICE Agents in Court
    May 13, 2025 | Sundance | 136 Comments
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was indicted today by a grand jury on charges of obstruction and concealing an individual from arrest.

These are the same charges originally outlined in the criminal complaint. (1) obstructing a criminal illegal alien capture; and (2) concealing the illegal alien to avoid apprehension and arrest.

The criminal complaint against Judge Hannah Dugan reveals the judge purposefully demanded the ICE agents and FBI officials go to another part of the building to speak with the chief justice, while she guided the criminal illegal alien through the jury room to an outside exit facilitating his release.

VIA CNN – A Milwaukee County Circuit judge was indicted in federal court Wednesday following accusations that she helped an undocumented immigrant evade federal agents last month.

Judge Hannah Dugan was indicted on charges of obstruction and concealing an individual from arrest, the same charges she was originally arrested and charged with. CNN has reached out to her attorney for comment.

Dugan is accused of helping a defendant in her courtroom evade immigration officials stationed to arrest him in the hallway outside. (read more)

Following her arrest for assisting a criminal illegal alien attempting to avoid capture, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Judge Hannah Dugan from all judicial proceedings.

…” A federal judge has stripped the city of control over its notorious Rikers Island jail complex, citing “unprecedented” levels of violence, systemic mismanagement, and a blatant disregard for court orders.

In a scathing 77-page ruling released Tuesday, Chief U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain officially stripped New York City and its Department of Correction (DOC) of full control over Rikers Island, citing a decade of failure to protect inmates from “grave and immediate” harm, including unconstitutional levels of violence, abuse, and systemic mismanagement.”….

  3. Just The News: “President Donald Trump continued Wednesday pressing for a new era of peace and prosperity in the Middle East, holding a surprise meeting with Syria’s interim leader and delivering a stern warning to Iran that its only path to normalization is to abandon both terrorism and its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

“I want to make a deal with Iran. I want to do something if possible,” Trump said while headlining the Gulf Cooperation Council in Saudi Arabia on the second day of his four-day tour through the region.

“But for that to happen, it must stop sponsoring terror, halt its bloody proxy wars, and permanently and verifiably cease its pursuit of nuclear weapons ” he added.

Trump also predicted there would be more peace deals between Israel and Arab neighbors under the Abraham Accords that were historically started under his first administration. And he implored Lebanon to carve a path away from Hezbollah terrorists and toward prosperity and engagement with the West.

But the biggest surprise of his trip came when he held an unscheduled half-hour meeting with Syria’s Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who just months ago overthrew the dictator Bashar al-Assad.

The meeting was an extraordinary turnabout for a Syrian rebel turned politician, who once pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda but has since denounced ties to that terror group.

Trump’s meeting came a day after he announced he was lifting sanctions on Syria to give the war-weary country a legitimate chance at peace and stability.”

  4. Just The News: “Federal prosecutors on Tuesday charged alleged Sinaloa Cartel leaders with narco-terrorism and material support of terrorism for trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin into the United States. It is the first time prosecutors charged alleged drug traffickers with terrorism-related charges.

Prosecutors charged Pedro Inzunza Noriega and his son, Pedro Inzunza Coronel, with narco-terrorism, drug trafficking and money laundering as key leaders of the Beltran Leyva Organization, a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel that is believed to be the world’s largest known fentanyl production network, according to the Justice Department.

Prosecutors also charged five other BLO leaders with drug trafficking and money laundering.

The indictment comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order that designated the Sinaloa Cartel as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in February.

“The Sinaloa Cartel is a complex, dangerous terrorist organization and dismantling them demands a novel, powerful legal response,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said. “Their days of brutalizing the American people without consequence are over – we will seek life in prison for these terrorists.”

BLO is considered one of the most violent drug trafficking organizations that operates in Mexico, engaging in shootouts, murders, kidnappings, torture and violent collection of drug debts to sustain its operations, according to the Justice Department and court records. The Beltran Leyva faction controls numerous territories and plazas throughout Mexico – including Tijuana – and operates with violent impunity, trafficking in deadly drugs, threatening communities, and targeting key officials, all while making millions of dollars from their criminal activities, according to the Justice Department.

Pedro Inzunza Noriega works closely with his son, Pedro Inzunza Coronel, to produce and aggressively traffic fentanyl into the United States, prosecutors alleged. Court documents allege that together the father and son lead one of the largest and most sophisticated fentanyl production networks in the world. Over the past several years, they have trafficked tens of thousands of kilograms of fentanyl into the United States, according to the Justice Department.

On Dec. 3, 2024, Mexican law enforcement raided multiple locations in Sinaloa that are controlled and managed by the father and son and seized more than 1.65 tons of fentanyl – the largest seizure of fentanyl in the world.

On his second day in office, Trump issued an executive order designating Mexican cartels, the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua, Salvadoran La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), as FTOs and specially designated global terrorists (SDGTs) under the U.S. Constitution, Immigration and Nationality Act and International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

“The Cartels have engaged in a campaign of violence and terror throughout the Western Hemisphere that has not only destabilized countries with significant importance for our national interests but also flooded the United States with deadly drugs, violent criminals, and vicious gangs,” Trump’s order stated. “They functionally control, through a campaign of assassination, terror, rape, and brute force nearly all illegal traffic across the southern border of the United States. In certain portions of Mexico, they function as quasi-governmental entities, controlling nearly all aspects of society.”

  5. Bullshit! They should have gotten the death penalty as far as I’m concerned!!!

Just The News: “A California judge on Tuesday resentenced Erik and Lyle Menendez to 50 years in prison for the 1989 murder of their parents, which makes them eligible for parole.

The brothers were convicted of the Beverly Hills murders in 1996, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The men have argued the shooting was committed out of fear that their parents planned to kill them in order to keep them quiet about how their father, Jose Menendez, allegedly sexually abused Erik Menendez for years.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Jesic said he does not believe the brothers pose an “unreasonable risk” if released, and sentenced them to 50 years. The sentence does not immediately free the brothers.

The ruling comes after several family members testified on the brothers’ behalf, with one cousin stating the pair were “different men” now than they were at 18 and 21-years-old, per NBC News. Erik is 54-years-old now, and Lyle is 57.

The brothers also gave statements after the ruling, with Lyle Menendez admitting that he made a “mockery of the legal system” by asking people to perjure themselves on his behalf after his arrest, and made “no excuses” for killing his parents.

“I committed an atrocious act against two people who had the right to live, my mom and dad,” Lyle Menedez said. “Today, 35 years later, I am deeply ashamed of who I was.”

Other people who testified on his and his brother’s behalf were a retired judge who said he was “very pro-law enforcement,” and a rapper who claimed the brothers helped him get released under California’s youthful offender law.

The ruling now goes to the state’s parole board, which will determine if they are suitable for release.”

  6. Just The News: “Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Tuesday reportedly dismissed two top officials on the National Intelligence Council, as part of her effort to curb the “politicization” of the intelligence community.

Gabbard in April highlighted her efforts to depoliticize the community, along with CIA Director John Ratcliffe, which included revoking security clearances of Biden administration officials and referring leakers of classified information to the Justice Department for prosecution.

The director relocated the council from the CIA, back to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), according to The Hill, and dismissed acting head of the council Mike Collins, and his deputy Maria Langan-Riekhof.

The council is responsible for coordinating with policymakers, and is generally considered part of the “analytic arm” of the intelligence community.

“The director is working alongside President [Donald] Trump to end the weaponization and politicization of the intelligence community,” an ODNI spokesperson told The Hill.

Collins was reportedly associated with former deputy CIA director Michael Morrell, who was one of the former intelligence officials that signed a letter questioning the discovery of former first son Hunter Biden’s laptop, Fox News reported.”

  7. EXCERPT: “Wisconsin’s Republican House delegation is calling for an end to Biden-era programs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture that discriminate against white male farmers. The holdover initiatives that, among other things, offer better loan terms to so-called “socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers” are at the core of civil rights legal battles four-plus years in the making.

In a letter exclusively provided to The Federalist, the lawmakers urge Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins to investigate the case of Adam Faust. The disabled Wisconsin dairy farmer “has been subjected to protected class-based discrimination by USDA … ineligible for certain USDA programs” because he is white and a man, the letter asserts.

“President Trump has taken bold and decisive action to eliminate racially discriminatory policies within the executive branch,” the congressmen — Reps. Tony Wied, Derrick Van Orden, Tom Tiffany, Bryan Steil, Glenn Grothman, and Scott Fitzgerald — remind the Ag secretary. “Agencies, including USDA, have been ordered to terminate all race-based programs and regulations. USDA should comply with President Trump’s order immediately. Each day without reform further disadvantages farmers, like Mr. Faust, based on their immutable characteristics.”“Based Solely on the Race’

The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty has represented Faust and other farmers across the country in civil rights litigation against the DEI-centric Biden administration. As the letter notes, Faust was the first U.S. farmer to successfully challenge the Biden administration’s $4 billion Farmer Loan Forgiveness Program. In Faust v. Vilsack, a Wisconsin federal court held that granting special loan forgiveness exclusively to “socially disadvantaged farmers” violated the Constitution and anti-discrimination laws. The court issued a temporary restraining order. Several other courts followed suit. The Biden administration suspended the loan forgiveness program and Congress got rid of it, although it created a new program to pay out $2.2 billion to farmers USDA is accused of discriminating against……”

  8. talked to Mom yesterday. She is asking the nurses to “walk” her in the hallway. (First she insisted on a second gown to cover her backside.) Her legs are still swollen some and her feet still hurt a bit, but she knows what she has to do to leave there. I imagine she will do the same in the nursing home facility, and she sounds just like normal to me.
She’s pretty amazing in what she can do even though she has a walker. She vacuums her house, cooks for herself, and can even take her garbage bag out to her can (down the 3 front porch steps) on good days.

  9. Pharma is Facing Its Nightmare Scenario

President Trump’s bombshell executive order aimed at lowering U.S. drug prices is a step toward a worst-case scenario for the pharmaceutical industry. Some critics say the industry could have done more to avoid it, even though Trump’s policies are causing turmoil in almost every sector of the economy.

Why it matters: Trump’s announcement could be the start of enormous global disruption for the pharmaceutical industry — or it’s the least-bad version of what was on the table, depending on who you ask. But the continued risk of a “most favored nation” policy that pegs U.S. drug prices to those paid in other developed nations is a massive threat to drugmakers’ bottom lines, especially coming on top of the pharmaceutical tariffs Trump has said he wants to impose.

The big questions are whether it ever comes to fruition, and whether drugmakers could have done more to avoid getting to this place at all, especially given Trump’s laser focus on drug prices and the populist leanings within the GOP. – Axios

Our Take: One of the most understated and yet, lasting effects of the Trump Dialectic is the inversion of generations of deeply-held, calcified (engineered) belief. He noted that the US was among the largest partners of the Saudi Vision 2030 reform agenda, adding that joint investments were one of the most important pillars of the economic relationship between the two countries.

“The US is a major destination for the Public Investment Fund, accounting for approximately 40 percent of the fund’s global investments,” he said.

The Wizard of Oz of 1925 was another American silent fantasy-adventure comedy film, directed by Larry Semon, who has the lead role of a Kansas farmhand disguised as the Scarecrow. This production, which is the only completed 1920s adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, stars Dorothy Dwan as Dorothy, Oliver Hardy as the Tin Woodman, and Curtis McHenry briefly disguised as a less “cowardly” Lion than in the 1939 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer version of Baum’s work, The Wizard of Oz.

In that film, Dorothy Gale (Dorothy Dwan), a Kansas farm girl, is told about her Uncle Henry (Frank Alexander) not being her uncle after all. Suddenly, a tornado blows into Kansas and whisks the farmhands and Dorothy to Oz, where Dorothy is discovered as Princess Dorothea by Prime Minister Kruel (Josef Swickard). The farmhands are disguised as a scarecrow, a tin man and lion.

I worked with Mark, I’ve always gotten along with Mark, always been nice to me, but yeah, he just accused Trump, the Trump administration of anti-Semitism for calling someone a neocon,” Carlson said, going on to explain how Witkoff is “a thoroughly decent man and he was running around the world trying to bring peace” who was instrumental in securing the freedom of Jewish hostages taken by Hamas terrorists.

“So here’s what he said, I actually wrote this down because I was really bothered by it,” Tucker continued. “This is Levin on Twitter, Mark Levin, who works at Fox, which basically seems to turn its programming over to advocating for a war with Iran. ‘Neocon is a pejorative for Jew, unbelievable,’ and this is in response to Witkoff saying, quote, ‘The neocon element believes that war is the only way to solve things,’ so you have Mark Levin calling Steve Witkoff an anti-Semite.”

“We’ve reached peak crazy, I mean, I think Witkoff is Jewish, right?” Carlson added.

Although the original neoconservatives were primarily left-wing Jewish intellectuals, the term has expanded to include those who, in the last several decades, have advocated for U.S. involvement in costly and ruinous foreign wars that are not in the nation’s best interests. John Bolton, Dick and Liz Cheney and Nikki Haley are a few examples.

  15. Daily Caller News Foundation

“Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin will announce Wednesday that the agency is keeping the current nationwide limits for “forever chemicals” in drinking water while committing to extend compliance deadlines for drinking water systems, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

The Trump administration will keep maximum contaminant levels for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” according to background information exclusively obtained by the DCNF. The EPA will propose a rule this fall to extend the compliance deadline for water utilities to 2031 to ensure that drinking water systems, especially those in rural areas, have additional time to comply with the drinking water regulation.

PFAS are a type of human-made chemical that has been linked to adverse health effects, such as cancer and other illnesses. They do not degrade easily, and more than 45% of the country’s tap water is estimated to have at least one “forever chemical,” according to a 2023 study by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Biden EPA announced the first-ever nationwide standards on six “forever chemicals” in drinking water in April 2024. The Biden administration gave drinking water systems until 2029 to comply with the legally enforceable maximum contaminant levels for the six types of PFAS.

Zeldin, who was active on PFAS issues as a member of the House, said in a statement that extending the compliance deadline by two years gives “commonsense flexibility” to water systems who asked for additional time to develop compliance plans. The Trump EPA rolled out a PFAS agenda on April 28 that included tapping an agency lead to address “forever chemicals” and working with Congress and industry stakeholders to ensure that drinking water systems, which are passive receivers, are not liable for PFAS contamination.

“The work to protect Americans from PFAS in drinking water started under the first Trump Administration and will continue under my leadership,” Zeldin said. “We are on a path to uphold the agency’s nationwide standards to protect Americans from PFOA and PFOS in their water.

“This will support water systems across the country, including small systems in rural communities, as they work to address these contaminants,” Zeldin continued. “EPA will also continue to use its regulatory and enforcement tools to hold polluters accountable.”

Industry stakeholders praised Zeldin for extending the original compliance deadline set by the Biden administration to give water systems more time to implement plans to reduce PFAS concentration in the water supply.

“EPA has done the right thing for rural and small communities by delaying implementation of the PFAS rule,” National Rural Water Association CEO Matthew Holmes said in a statement. “This commonsense decision provides the additional time that water system managers need to identify affordable treatment technologies and make sure they are on a sustainable path to compliance.”

The Trump EPA’s decision to proceed with aspects of the Biden-era PFAS rule builds on the president’s work during his first term to address PFAS contamination, which included the convening of a PFAS national leadership summit in 2018 and the release of a PFAS action plan in 2019.

Zeldin was a founding member of the PFAS Congressional Task Force and supported legislation while serving in Congress to regulate drinking water standards for some “forever chemicals.”

  18. EXCERPT: “….Here are a couple of highlights.

Senator Hawley: So, I noticed that you said in your written testimony, you just repeated it here, let me sure I get this right. I’m going to quote you now – we live and breathe our motto, “Our customer’s worst day needs to be our best.” I have to tell you Mr. Fiato, based on the testimony I’ve heard today, based on the witness statements I’ve taken from witnesses, it sounds like to me that it really ought to be amended to say “Our customer’s worst day is your big profit opportunity.” I mean, we’ve just heard testimony here, sworn testimony, from multiple adjustor, that your company ordered them to delete, or alter damage estimates, to reduce payouts and to make you profits. It sounds to me like you’re running a system of institutionalized fraud.

Mike Fiato: Yeah, that would be incorrect, Senator. That’s not what we do.

Senator Hawley: So you have never ordered, Allstate has never asked an adjustor to change an assessment on their report.

Mike Fiato: When we review an adjustor’s estimate, most often for authority requests, so, most adjustors have an amount of financial authority that they can settle claims to without having to…

Senator Hawley: Now wait a minute, that’s not what they testified to.

I’m not an attorney, and I’m not an insurance adjustor, but this sounds a lot like (at the very least) an unethical business practice, if not outright fraud.

But it wasn’t over yet for Mike Fiato:

Senator Hawley: Listen to another piece of testimony from another witness, this is a whistleblower report that has come in to us. This person says, “I’ve dedicated my entire adult life to the claims adjusting world in numerous roles, I worked for Pilot and Allstate 12 years, as an independent adjustor. I wrote claims all over the country regularly throughout the years. And I have watched the progression and the controlling nature of claims worsen progressively. Allstate created an internal review team with the sole purpose of making sure claims were paid as low as possible. Allstate reviewers instructed adjustors to alter and delete factual findings in their estimates to drive down the cost of a claim.

“Alter or delete” would be the key term here; that’s dishonest, it’s breaking faith with their customers, and it’s fraud….”

  19. “The Party That Prays for Collapse”

PJ Media, David Manney | 12:42 AM on May 14, 2025

    AP Photo/Nam Y. Huh

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Abraham Lincoln spoke those words in 1858, not as a metaphor, but as a warning. The country was tearing along seams of ideology and morality. Lincoln saw it. He feared America could not endure as both a slave state and a free one. He was right.

But even then, Lincoln hoped the Union would stand. He didn’t root for secession or sabotage. He didn’t pray for Southern crops to fail or cities to burn to make his case. He confronted the moment of agony and clarity, defending a flawed system while preparing to save it from itself.

That’s what leadership once looked like. Now, fast-forward 165 years. We are once again a house divided, this time not by geography but by worldview. One half of the political spectrum clings to a fading legacy and an aging standard-bearer, fanning the flames of decline, cheering for economic downturns, legal chaos, or worse, if it means stopping Donald Trump.

That’s not leadership. It’s nihilism with a press pass. And the Democratic Party, fractured, directionless, consumed by grievance, seems willing to let the beams of the house rot out completely, as long as Trump can’t walk back through the front door.

The Biden Legacy: A Ghost in the Spotlight — This month, Joe Biden’s reentry into the public sphere felt more like a forced cameo than a rallying cry. Democrats wheeled him out with all the enthusiasm of a company bringing back its failed CEO to convince investors the stock’s still worth something.

As Matt Vespa reported, the unease among Biden’s own party is unmistakable. The base isn’t energized. They’re exhausted. It gets worse. The Labor Department quietly admitted that the “Biden job boom” was padded with hundreds of thousands of ghost jobs, fabricated data to maintain an illusion. This wasn’t just spin. It was a bureaucratic lie that undermines the trust that holds democracies together.

Yet Democrats, with no credible successor and no fresh message, are stuck defending the corpse of an administration while pretending it’s still breathing. The irony? The more they try to prop up Biden’s past, the more they spotlight their absence of a future.

Betting on Ruin — There is a chilling new edge to Democratic strategy: they aren’t just rejecting Trump, they’re hoping America suffers enough to reject him too.

As PJ Media revealed, prominent left-leaning voices have been openly disappointed by positive economic news. Job growth, market recovery, and consumer confidence are seen not as good signs for the country, but as threats to their campaign. Think about that. They’re not asking voters to choose a better path. They’re praying the path collapses under us, so the public turns back in fear.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once warned that “destructive means cannot bring about constructive ends.” He lived through a time when America’s promise was being violently tested, yet he called for reform, not ruin, progress, not collapse. He appealed to conscience, not chaos. Imagine how he’d view a party that now roots for unemployment, volatility, and disorder, not to bring justice, but to destroy a rival.

Escalation and Its Echoes — And here, the temperature rises again. It’s not just economic sabotage. It’s rhetorical arson. RedState recently documented a growing trend: assassination fantasies directed at Donald Trump, shared and amplified by voices once considered mainstream. What began years ago as crude jokes from late-night hosts has morphed into outright public musings from influencers, podcasters, and even academics.

History has seen this script before; the third act never ends well. After the Civil War, political tensions birthed the Ku Klux Klan, a terrorist group that used fear and murder to preserve power and punish those who challenged the social order. The escalation didn’t begin with bombs. It started with words. With the belief that some enemies were unworthy of rights, mercy, or life.

The government eventually cracked down, but only after lives were lost and scars were carved into the American conscience. A century later, Dr. King led peaceful marches and prayed for the soul of a nation. He was met with dogs, water hoses, illegal surveillance, and ultimately, a bullet. His death was not the act of a lone madman; it was the culmination of decades of moral erosion and political escalation.

The moment we treat opponents not as people but as problems to be erased, we’ve entered the same dangerous territory. And today’s rhetoric is walking us right back to it.

Why This Matters Now — This isn’t about Biden. Or Trump. Or the 2024 election. This is about whether we still want the country to succeed, even when someone we don’t like is in charge.

Because if we don’t, if we’ve become a nation where half the population roots for failure just to feel politically vindicated, then we’re not living in a republic anymore. We’re living in a zero-sum battlefield. And sooner or later, battlefields draw blood.

The Democratic Party is now powered not by proposals but by animus, not by unity, but by the fantasy that if they can’t win, maybe the country shouldn’t either.

The Reckoning Is Coming — Abraham Lincoln was willing to suffer personal and political defeat to keep the Union intact, and Dr. King was willing to die in the hope that his country would outgrow its hate. Today’s left would rather see a grocery bill skyrocket or a city riot than witness Donald Trump take the oath again.

That is not dissent. That is not resistance. That is rot. And Americans are seeing it. More clearly every day. Because in the end, the question we must ask is simple: Who still believes in this country, even when it doesn’t vote their way?

If the answer isn’t the Democratic Party, then maybe it’s time voters ask themselves if that party still believes in them.”

  20. Oh, my!!! Beyond frightening!!! I’ve never felt any earthquakes, even all the supposed small ones that happen around the country.

LOL – my brother, Red, made a trip to CA once years ago – his first day there, they had a minor earthquake! He turned around and left the next day, with a vow never to return!!! I’m with you, Red! I’ll finally get to see him again this summer when we celebrate Mom’s 94th BD – haven’t seen him since the last time we were all together, for her 90th.

  21. EXCERPT: “….Other slogans were slightly less controversial, but still deemed problematic, such as: “I would like to overthrow the French government.”

The slogans are affixed to the glass walls of the affixed amphitheater gallery in the Pierre Mendès France building at the university’s campus, and were commissioned from the artist Petite Poissone. It is unclear how much he was paid to produce the racist slogans.

The conservative student union, UNI Grenoble, denounced the messages, saying they represent “anti-white propaganda.” “These unacceptable messages encourage racism against white people and spread the woke idea that we are in a systematically racist society,” said UNI national delegate Yvenn Le Coz, who requested the university immediately take down the artworks.

After the UNI alerted President Yassine Lakhnech, who claimed he only became aware of the inscriptions despite them already being up for two months. The inscriptions have become a part of a national news story, with some of the biggest outlets in the country now questioning how such racist inscriptions were installed. Le Figaro questioned the president, Lakhnech, who said the messages “do not reflect the university’s positions or values.” He claimed they would now be removed, but only the ones that caused a problem.

A press release has gone out and noted that the artwork was given “sufficient oversight.” However, university students are claiming that 10 inscriptions out of 50 were already reviewed and deemed inappropriate, which, if true, means university staff saw all the messages beforehand and allowed them to go up….”

  23. “Boy, this’ll get that mean Orange Man’s attention…

The Democratic National Committee plans to fly plane dragging a banner reading “Qatar-a-Lago” over President Trump’s southern Florida home on Wednesday, chair Ken Martin tells ABC News. “Donald Trump is using the presidency to personally enrich himself while he bankrupts working families. His corruption is a slap in the face to the millions of Americans who are struggling to get by and put food on the table,” said Martin in a statement to the network. The DNC has condemned the plans for the Qatari jet, which bears an estimated value of at least $400 million, as “Trump’s latest grift.”

Can’t say it isn’t catchy and clever but, you know. He isn’t at Mar-a-Lago currently. There’s probably a better and more effective way to propagate the meme than a goddamned airplane banner. But it’s not like they have anything else to do, right?”

      1. Yep – when he is in residence:

March 10: “Fighter jets intercepted two civilian planes that entered restricted airspace above President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home on Saturday and Sunday. The North American Command, or NORAD, deployed two fighter jets to warn the civilian aircraft they were in restricted airspace.
On Saturday, a civilian plane flew over Mar-a-Lago forcing NORAD to intercept the aircraft and on Sunday another civilian aircraft entered the temporary flight restriction zone.
A no-fly-zone is enforced over Mar-a-Lago when Trump is at his residence in Florida.”

  26. Daily Caller News Foundation

EXCERPT: “Officials are reportedly reassessing the risk posed by Chinese-made devices found in solar panels that are capable of damaging the energy infrastructure, destabilizing the power grid and triggering widespread blackouts.

Over the past nine months, “rogue communication devices” not listed in product documents were found in solar power inverters and batteries from several Chinese suppliers, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Reuters. The undocumented devices were found after U.S. experts disassembled the renewable energy equipment to check for security issues, prompting officials to review the potential dangers of the Chinese-made devices, according to the publication.

“We know that China believes there is value in placing at least some elements of our core infrastructure at risk of destruction or disruption,” Mike Rogers, a former director of the U.S. National Security Agency, told Reuters. “I think that the Chinese are, in part, hoping that the widespread use of inverters limits the options that the West has to deal with the security issue.”

The communication devices were reportedly found in power inverters, which are used to connect solar panels and wind turbines to the power grid and are often produced in China. They are also found in electric vehicle chargers, batteries and heat pumps. Undocumented cellular radios were also found in Chinese-manufactured batteries, according to the publication.

If the rogue communication devices found in the inverters are used to circumnavigate firewalls and change the settings or turn off inverters remotely, this could destabilize power grids, damage energy technology and prompt blackouts, according to experts who spoke with Reuters.

“That effectively means there is a built-in way to physically destroy the grid,” one of the sources told the publication…..”

    1. no shit sherlock. people have been warning about these risks for a long time. that’s why china is behind a large part of solar grid production parts. so they can destablize and ruin countries at will. solar is a big ass boondoggle.

  28. OK, that # for NE is NOT right! There are a lot of homes in the small towns under $100K. Mine was a 3 BR, 2 BA for less than $25K on almost an acre, plus the 2 acre plot to the south; granted, I spent almost the same on the renovation but that still puts it at only about $50K! Then again, I paid cash and didn’t need financing but still…..

  31. Good! Just found a use for the 3 X 5 US flag I bought that is too big for my flag pole. I was out front weeding and noticed that Lois/Oran’s flag is faded and wearing out, so I took it over to them. It’s just the kind they need. So at least it wasn’t an entire waste of $.

  32. Just The News: “Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmed Wednesday during Senate testimony that an incident involving two contractors that shuttered a biosafety lab at a western Maryland Army base is being investigated by the FBI.

“We brought in the FBI to investigate,” Kennedy said in response to a question by Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, before which Kennedy testified. “As you say, it appears like it was a deliberate criminal act that was kind of equivalent to attempted murder.”

The revelation follows National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya saying Monday on the Just the News, No Noise TV show the incident was a fight between the contractors, in which one slashed a hole in a containment suit of the other, potentially exposing them to a pathogen.

When the incident occurred is unclear. But Bhattacharya, who was confirmed to the NIH post March 25, said he shut down the high-level lab upon assuming the post and that he would not reopen it until he was satisfied it is safe.

Paul praised Kennedy for bringing in the FBI into the investigation. Kennedy said he had a trip planned to Fort Detrick with Bhattacharya and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and that they plan to report back to Congress on what they find. He also said during the hearing that HHS has declared the end of gain of function research.

Experts continue to disagree on the definition of such research. But the general understanding is that it involves altering an organism’s genetic makeup to give it new abilities or enhance existing ones to understand how a virus or pathogen works, how it evolves and what makes it dangerous.

One theory about how the recent pandemic started was that COVID-19 was accidentally leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, after gain-of-function manipulations of a SARS-like virus.

“I commend you for that,” Paul said about ending such research. “I think ultimately, legislation will be needed, because the next administration could reverse it. I think there is bipartisan support for some controls on gain of function.”
