What Shall We Make Today?

Today’s offering Is Oreo Mousse Cake! The recipe calls for whipping cream and confectioner’s sugar to make the cake, and I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but when I do, I will try using Cool Whip instead.  I’ll let you know the results.

Ingredients

1 package (14.3 ounces) Oreo cookies, crushed

1/3 cup butter, melted

8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

3 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar

Additional whole or crushed Oreos, optional

Directions

In a small bowl, mix 2 cups crushed cookies and butter. Press onto bottom of a greased 9-in. springform pan. Refrigerate until ready to use.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate on high just until melted; stir until smooth. Cool to room temperature.

In another bowl, beat cream and confectioners’ sugar until stiff peaks form; fold 4 cups into cooled chocolate. Spread over crust. Spread remaining whipped cream over top. Cover and refrigerate until set, about 3 hours. If desired, garnish with additional Oreos.

  4. Geez! That wind is awful! I took everything down – plants and feeders – not only because it’s bad now but for later, when the storms move in…..don’t want to have to do it in the pouring rain or hail! But the Orioles aren’t totally out of luck – the small one is safe to leave out – it’s not coming down unless the entire trellis comes down and the Honeysuckles hold that down.

  5. Ah! My Sis sent this to me of the Arabian horses escorting POTUS – I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t share a bloodline with my guy – he had some Saudi Bedouin blood in his lineage:

    The horses that escorted Trump represent beauty, nobility and pride; the lavender carpet represents the flowering wild flowers in the desert and signifies generosity – Trump wore a purple tie in coordination. It is also totally against protocol for the King to greet him personally at the airport, normal procedure is to send an underling.

Just The News: “Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced legislation Wednesday afternoon in a party-line vote that includes steep cuts to Medicaid, as part of its sweeping tax bill. The legislation advanced out of committee in a 30-24 split after a 26-hour mark-up that began on Tuesday, according to Politico. The legislation will now go to the House Budget Committee on Friday.

    The bill reduces federal spending on Medicaid by hundreds of billions of dollars, shortens the Affordable Care Act’s open enrollment period, and includes a provision that calls for states to impose work requirements for childless adults aged 19-64 with some exemptions, according to The Hill.

    The proposed cuts would result in millions losing Medicaid coverage by 2034, but Republican lawmakers said the bulk of people who would be impacted are illegal migrants and “able-bodied” people who should still be working.”

    Also, don’t forget that Sheriff Joe Lombardo, who was involved with the Bundy cattle stand-off, was working the LV shooting…..he is now Governor of NV.
