Since Easter is later this month, I’m bringing my favorite Easter candy recipe–coconut eggs!

Ingredients
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon butter, softened
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon shortening
Directions
In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add sugar and coconut. Refrigerate for 1-1/2 hours or until easy to handle. Using hands dusted with confectioners’ sugar, mold rounded tablespoonfuls of coconut mixture into egg shapes. Place on a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 2 hours or until slightly firm.
Melt chocolate chips and shortening. Remove eggs from the freezer a few at a time; dip into chocolate mixture until completely coated. Return to waxed paper; refrigerate until hardened. Store in the refrigerator.
ENJOY!
Pat’s Note: How many you get depends on how large you make the eggs. I always make the entire recipe, because these freeze beautifully and you can enjoy them months later!

the only solution i thought of was a dark one. take the knife and off one the other two. then you have 2 apples and 2 people –everyone gets an equal share. but coothie at wolf’s had a better idea. take the knife and stab the apples–getting them both on the knife–and toss it. everyone gets nothing equally…lol

SICK: Wisconsin Teen Allegedly Murdered Parents in Deranged Plot to Assassinate President Trump and Overthrow U.S. GovernmentThis is extreme derangement and terrorism.

we wanted to rebel? we grew our hair long and wore weird clothes. you wanted to smoke? make you stole $5 from your mom’s purse…

BREAKING: The Secretary of Labor just revealed to President Trump that DOGE has uncovered massive unemployment insurance fraud, with payments being sent to babies & non-existent people.
“We have almost 25,000 people who are over 115 years old who are collecting $59 million… Mr. President, 28,000 people between 1 and 5 years old have collected fraudulent payments at the tune of $254 million. 10,000 people who have not been born yet, 15 years into the future, $69 million. And they haven’t even been born yet.”
Arrests need to be made. Just canceling payments isn’t enough.

this just disgusts me! But part of it it because the system is designed that way. the old–minorities can’t get ID–BS–and electronic payments are cheaper and easier. sure, for the fraudsters. but someone had to CREATE those bank accounts…wonder if any of them WORK for the gov’t? after all, who knows the system is ripe for being ripped off better than them.

Just The News: “Small business owners applying for federal loans will now face extra identification requirements following changes by the Trump administration. The Small Business Administration unveiled new fraud prevention efforts this week, including citizenship verification to ensure benefiting businesses are not owned wholly or partially by noncitizens.
The new rules also require date of birth verification to ensure loans do not go to applicants using the identities of children or the deceased.
SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler said in a statement that the move builds upon other “common-sense reforms” the SBA and the Department of Government Efficiency are taking to root out and prevent “rampant fraud” occurring during the last four years.
“Unlike the previous Administration, we respect the American taxpayer and are dedicated to ensuring every dollar entrusted to this agency goes to support eligible, legitimate small businesses,” Loeffler said. “With these simple fraud prevention measures, we will end the abuse of our loan programs – with stronger safeguards to hold bad actors accountable.”
Loeffler referenced a DOGE investigation finding that between 2020 and 2021, SBA doled out thousands of loans worth $333 million to applicants more than 115 years old, and thousands more, worth $300 million, to borrowers under 11 years old. Much of the fraud stemmed from the lack of safeguards in aid programs that were created or greatly expanded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While SBA distributed more than $1 trillion in loans and grants to 10 million small businesses during the pandemic, more than 2 million recipients were “likely fraudulent” according to an analysis from the Government Accountability Office, as previously reported by The Center Square.”

just out looking at the downed tree on the shed roof. not as bad as hubby originally thought. if i disappear again, it’s because he needed help. the base of the tree is rotten which explains why it fell in the first place, but hubby thinks he can salvage a good 2/3 of the tree for next winter.
sunny sky is gone and the wind is picking up again…but at least he got the tree off the roof and can start to figure out how to shore up that roof.

“Life Hack: Get Real Starbucks Taste At Home By Dumping Hot Water Over Cigarette Ashes”
Lifestyle · Apr 12, 2025 · BabylonBee.com
“Ever wished you could recreate that signature Starbucks coffee taste at home? You can! It’s easy, inexpensive, and best of all, tastes just like Starbucks. All you need is a pot of hot water and a heaping mound of cigarette ashes.
First, you’ll need to heat up water. Any old tap water will do – simply fill a pot and warm it on the stove until it’s hot enough to literally melt your skin off. If it won’t burn you on contact right down to your bones, keep heating!
Next, you need to obtain a few cups of cigarette ashes. If you can’t score it from a nursing home ashtray, just head down to your local convenience store and get a few packs of Camel cigarettes. Chain smoke those bad boys until you have a solid heap of ash going.
Now, simply place the ashes in a filter and pour the water over it. You will be amazed how much it tastes just like Starbucks, and how much money you’ll save. Get smoking!”

SMH – leave it to the government to make things complicated! According to Stephen Miller, the so-called “exemptions” to importing semiconductors, phones, chips, etc., etc. are not, after all, exemptions. They simply fall under a different program of governance:
“Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 allows the U.S. President to adjust imports of goods if they threaten national security, typically through tariffs or quotas. This provision is used to investigate and respond to the impact of foreign imports on domestic industries deemed critical for national defense.”

WOAH https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f6a8.svg Biden Family bank records subpoenaed “THEY TOOK IN $27 MILLION (TAX FREE) FROM BAD PEOPLE IN BAD COUNTRIES”
Charlie Kirk “How did Joe Biden get so rich?”
James Comer “No one’s ever been able to figure that out. What we were able to do is subpoena the bank records of his son and his brother. We found that they took in $27 million from bad people in bad countries, not for any business purpose, because the Bidens didn’t own a real business.
The only business that we could determine in our year and a half long investigation was they were selling access to Joe. There’s a term for that that’s called lobbying, I guess you could say.
– Number 1, You’re not supposed to have immediate family members that lobby
– Number 2, If you lobby foreign entities, you’re supposed to register as a foreign agent
There’s a bill, a law called the Foreign Agents Registration Act. None of his family registered for that. What we found during our investigation was from the IRS whistleblowers that they never paid a penny of taxes on this $27 million.
So $27 million coming in tax free, that’s a pretty good start.”

American cattle rancher exposing that they’ve all been sold out, they’re at risk of being run out of business and your meat is being imported
– 4 large mega corporations now own 85% of the entire industry
– 2 of them are foreign owned
– 1 of them is Chinese
“50% or more of the beef processing be controlled by countries outside of the US. It comes down to our own food source security.”
“We used to make fair amount of return on my cattle, but the industry has changed dramatically with the government allowing the consolidation of the meat processing business.
4 companies, giant companies got together and decided to roll that up, consolidate it, and that’s just business. But when we get on the other side of it and we take into account the ramifications on our national economic health. It has a very detrimental effect.
Our government allowed 2 giant companies controlled by foreign governments to come in and acquire.
One of them is controlled by the Chinese, and they bought Smithville out of North Carolina. And the other one was a Brazilian company that came in and bought up one of the other major players.
So now we have an industry, 85% of it actually has been consolidated and rolled up and controlled by 4 companies. Four companies now are dictating who gets what, where, and when. Do you see?
But nobody thought our government would let 50% or more of the beef processing be controlled by countries outside of the US. It comes down to our own food source security.
The geopolitical situation we find ourselves in, why would we want to have an antagonist on 25% of our meat processing? It makes no sense at all.”

“According to a report this morning, the bohemian Mecca made famous for its anything-goes attitude, counterculture musical scene and clashes with police is begging for law enforcement. The Sixth Precinct Community Council polled 600 neighborhood residents and found 487 of them — 83% — want more cops on the streets. And 74% of Villagers said the Empire State needed stronger prosecution for drug dealing, while 80% thought New York needed stricter bail laws, according to the first-of-its-kind survey, conducted in February and March.
No place is more emblematic of the decline than Washington Square Park – where Bob Dylan used to sing songs about social injustice. Despite falling citywide crime, the green space continues to be overrun by junkies and dealers — and repeat offenders are on a loop – arrested, released and back by lunchtime.
“Enough is enough,” said Village-raised Trevor Sumner, president of the Washington Square Association. “Liberalism is being challenged and people are realizing that our attempts to honor some ideals are leading to worst outcomes.”

The temp finally got up into the 70’s (78 now), with not-so-frequent wind gusts so I worked on the lope bed, clearing all the old vines, and planted 2 seeds, with their homemade hot houses covering the hills. I’ll do 2 more next week and 2 more the next, for a total of 6. I also attached the small white solar owl w/orange eyes I recently bought to the top of the end post, looking out towards the road. Ha! Bet that catches some eyes! LOL
Since I was out there anyway….I needed to get the Clematis vine unwound from the crumbling ladder before it got too many new shoots. First, I had to take the metal ornaments off that were attached with zip ties. The vines had run thru and around them so that took some time. But the ladder is now down and I took some measurements and know exactly where I’ll put the new trellis….when I get it painted, that is! Another item for my shopping list: more spray paint. I don’t know if there is enough left from the can I used to spray the t-posts. Really nice to be out in the sunshine and fresh air again!

“Maryland scrambled to gut their Child Victims Act when they found out the state government was liable for billions in damages”
Mister Retrops, Apr 12, 2025
“Talk about unintended consequences! In 2023, Maryland Democrats voted to stick it to the Catholic Church by lifting the statute of limitations on suing for child sexual abuse after an investigative report of the Archdiocese of Baltimore showed over 600 children had been abused there since the 1940s.
Now, this might have been well intentioned, but it was also a clear attempt, and a successful one, to damage the Catholic Church in Maryland. The Archdiocese had to file for bankruptcy after the law was passed.
But while the lawmakers were busy high-fiving the destruction of those awful Catholics, they ended up stepping in their own trap. Much to their chagrin, they had forgotten that there are a lot more evil public servants than evil Catholic priests.
Within days of the original law being cleared by the Maryland Supreme Court, thousands of sexual abuse cases were filed against the state of Maryland’s juvenile justice system.
They thought it was JUST the Catholic Church that was the problem. They had no clue that so many government employees might be hit with suits. Smith estimates the settlements could be upwards of $4 billion, which is as much as the state’s current yearly deficit.
And in that light, the legislature quickly wrote a new law and voted to limit their liability in the cases. (And I do mean quickly – it went from draft, to committee, to the floor in the state House and Senate, and to the governor’s desk in two days — TWO DAYS.)
And Governor Moore quickly put his pen to the legislation signing it into law.”

“Scientists discover that fingerprints are not as unique as once believed”
Mister Retrops, Apr 12, 2025
“For over one hundred years, we’ve rested on the fact that every fingerprint is totally and completely unique, even on the same hand of the same person. However, that commonly held belief has been called into question by recent research out of Columbia University. Gabe Guo led a team trying to see if AI could detect new information from fingertips.
And it turns out that it can, at least if those prints are from the same person:
And that’s big news because sometimes the only fingerprints on record are from certain fingers and not others. The AI looks at the swirl patterns and curvatures where the print lines begin, rather than the unique endpoints or the lines themselves.
Having another way to verify fingerprints is an especially big deal given a recent New Jersey ruling from the appellate court, which raised the bar on what prosecutors could use as fingerprint evidence.
The court brought up
The problem in this specific case was that the defendant’s fingerprints were really, really close matches to the ones at the scene of a burglary, so close that for the past one hundred years, he would have gone to jail, but they weren’t exactly, 100% the same as the ones on file, so the appellate kicked the case back to the lower court to reconsider.
And you can just hear every criminal in New Jersey calling their lawyer like
If this new technique really does add a new layer of fingerprint identification, it could clear up a bunch of the doubts in the 5% of false positives. I’ve got to say, I’m a little concerned about the future this sort of research is creating, where we one day hear:
The computer finds you guilty on all counts!“

“That whale sure looks fake, even if it’s real…Really looks like a terrible photoshop job….”
Strange Sounds, Apr 13, 2025
“Can you imagine this wildlife photographer when he saw an amazing white orca swimming with his pod.
“This is the first time I’ve encountered a white orca after 15 years of photographing orcas in Rausu (Hokkaido, Japan),” Hayakawa shared.
You can watch the whale swim with his friends here:
https://www.instagram.com/p/C8T5hKPvgjZ/
Hayakawa was stunned to see an all-white male orca appear among a pod of typically pigmented whales. As they reviewed the pictures of the whale, they confirmed it wasn’t a dream at all. There really was a cream-colored orca in the water with the others, seemingly enjoying life as if nothing were different at all.
Hayakawa returned to the same spot soon after, hoping to photograph the white orca again. To their surprise, yet another white orca appeared — this time, a female. They steadied their camera and quickly pressed the shutter-release button. As they captured a series of pictures of the orca, they noticed an interesting detail about the whale’s face.
“The eyes appear black,” Hayakawa wrote on Instagram:
Hayakawa wasn’t immediately sure what condition the pale whales had to cause their unusual skin tone, but the color of their eyes suggested they may have luecism instead of being fully albino.
According to Treehugger, “While albinism refers to the complete lack of melanin — the natural pigment that gives skin, feathers, hair, and eyes their color — leucism involves a partial loss of pigmentation. Animals with albinism are white or pale in color over their entire bodies but also have eyes that are pale, pink, or red in color, while animals with leucism often have partially white or patchy features with darker eyes.”
The white whales might seem completely void of melanin, but their eyes and faint body markings tell a different story. These whales likely inherited leucism from their parents, creating their striking cream-colored bodies.
Though they are different conditions, albinism and leucism in wild animals can sometimes be dangerous — causing the animal to stand out to predators more easily. Luckily, these white orcas seemed to be accepted and protected by their typically colored whale counterparts.
That’s why, when Hayakawa returned to the same ocean in the following days, they continued to see the white whales swimming with their friends and enjoying life overall.
Life as a wildlife photographer is filled with surprises and unexpected moments. Hayakawa has since continued photographing other species in their hometown, such as the Japanese dwarf flying squirrel, but there’s something about the white whales that keeps luring them back to the water. And they hope, having identified one white whale as male and the other as female, to discover another little white whale in the pod one day.
Meanwhile, just 10 days ago, whale watchers captured video of a white pygmy killer whale calf swimming with its pod near Oahu, Hawaii. Awesome!”
