New Hampshire is yet another state that has the white-tailed deer as their state mammal. Lacking any new information about the deer, I thought I’d go in another direction—a crafty one. Did you know you can make things from the antlers?? Deer naturally shed these yearly so, if you’re lucky, you can find some discarded antlers in the woods.
If you find a lot of antlers, you can make this wreath.

Or, perhaps this chandelier.

Maybe this deer whistle is more to your liking.

You can find the instructions for these crafts and other craft ideas at brightstuffs.com.

Just The News: “A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that President Donald Trump improperly fired the head of the Federal Labor Relations Authority, a labor board, stating federal law meant the leader was protected from termination without cause.
The ruling comes a week after a different judge sided with another labor board, ruling that Trump lacked the authority to dismiss the board member. She has since been reinstated.
U.S. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan rejected the White House’s argument that removal protections are unconstitutional, stating that Supreme Court verdicts in the past have proved otherwise.
“The Government’s arguments paint with a broad brush and threaten to upend fundamental protections in our Constitution. But ours is not an autocracy; it is a system of checks and balances,” Sooknanan wrote. “A straightforward reading of Supreme Court precedent thus resolves the merits of this case.”
The judge also pushed back on accusations from the Justice Department that she lacked the authority to enter injunctive relief reinstating FLRA chair Susan Grundmann, and is limited to awarding back pay. Sooknanan said she does have the authority because the case was about more than a paycheck.
Grundmann’s attorney, Norm Eisen, praised the verdict in a statement reported by The Hill. “Another illegal action by the Trump administration has been struck down,” he said. “This is an important win for the American people.”

Just The News: “NASA on Wednesday unexpectedly canceled its launch of a SpaceX rocket to rescue two stranded astronauts on the International Space Station, less than one hour before the launch was scheduled to take place. The space agency did not explain why it canceled the flight, and did not immediately schedule a new date.
“Crew10 status: NASA and SpaceX are standing down on the March 12 launch attempt,” the agency said on X.
NASA has repeatedly delayed rescue operations for stranded astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who were only expected to be on the station for a week. The pair have been stranded in space since June because of safety issues related to their Boeing spacecraft.
President Donald Trump in January ordered Elon Musk’s company SpaceX to conduct the rescue operation. The return was originally scheduled for February, but it was later pushed back to early March.
The rescue operation will feature astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, and Japanese mission specialist Takuya Onishi and Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, whenever it does take place. The launch had been scheduled to take place at 7:48 p.m. ET.”

Why the fuck are we interfering in these other countries???? LET THEM FIGHT THEIR OWN BATTLES!!! The American people do NOT give a shit about the Balkans!!!!
Just The News: “A bipartisan group of members of Congress on Wednesday sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, asking him to use all necessary tools in his arsenal to prevent deterioration within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnian state prosecutors on Wednesday ordered the arrest of Republika Srpska leader Milorad Dodik, after he refused to accept a prison sentence and ban from politics. Dodik vowed he would not accept the sentence, and will continue a separatist agenda.
Senate Pro Tempore Chuck Grassley and a bipartisan group of leaders on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee led the letter, which conveyed concern over the fragile situation in the Balkans.
“We are deeply concerned about the recent actions of Milorad Dodik, the leader of the Republika Srpska entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the members wrote. “For years, he has engaged in secessionist activity, challenging Bosnia and Herzegovina’s state institutions, undermining the constitution and threatening the territorial integrity of the country.”
The lawmakers said Dodik’s actions are threatening peace in the region and affecting Bosnia and Herzegovina residents who are trying to do their jobs.
“In addition to threats of force, threats of arrests, sanctions and penal procedures have been directed at employees of Bosnia and Herzegovina state institutions living in Republika Srpska for continuing to carry out federal responsibilities,” they said. “This is a direct attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Accords.”
The lawmakers explained that a collapse in the Western Balkans would harm vital U.S. interests in the area, and that tough American leadership is needed to counter Dodik’s agenda.
The Senate leaders urged the Trump administration and Rubio to help prevent further deterioration in the area by expanding sanctions against Dodik and his team, increasing diplomatic relations with the country, and appointing a special envoy for the Western Balkans to help coordinate policy, among other ways.
Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin, Illinois, Chris Van Hollen, Md., and Peter Welch, Vt., and Republican Sen. Thom Tillis, N.C., signed the letter, along with Reps. Ann Wagner, a Republican from Missouri, and Mike Quigley, a Democrat from Illinois.”

“When you talk about removing that funding from our agency, we are the experts and we know how to administer that,” Coleman said. “We know how to help states be able to target that funding to make sure that it gets to lower income areas, whether that be urban or rural areas. And it’s — and it’s not clear that how that would actually be helpful.”
“What would be clear is that, you know, the process of moving that stuff is not going to assist states,” Coleman continued. “It’s actually going to hinder those efforts, because you’re not going to have the federal oversight that we give in order to make sure that that is being administered and that people are not being discriminated against based on federal non-discrimination laws.”……

Daily Caller News Foundation: “The Department of Justice (DOJ) reportedly opened a criminal investigation Wednesday into New York City hotels operating as migrant shelters, focusing on their funding and management, according to multiple outlets.
A copy of a federal subpoena obtained by The New York Times and the New York Post, sent to Manhattan’s Hotel Chandler, reportedly shows prosecutors requesting testimony and evidence related to the migrant shelter program concerning an unspecified “alleged violation” of federal immigration law. Prosecutors also requested a full list of migrants currently residing at the hotel, including their nationality, dates of birth and identification numbers, according to the Times.
New York City has become home to more than 160,000 migrants since the influx of illegal immigrants began under the Biden-Harris administration, as Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has repeatedly asked the federal government for help over the years. With shelters being built and schools and hotels converted to accommodate the influx, the city spent $1.47 billion on asylum seeker shelter and services in the 2023 fiscal year and $3.75 billion in the 2024 fiscal year, according to data from NYC’s Comptroller’s Office.
According to the Times, federal prosecutors requested that the hotel provide names of entities and individuals responsible for the “funding and management of the illegal immigrant/migrant shelter program,” along with any potential contracts or agreements that pertain to the program.
Despite the Hotel Chandler being transformed into a homeless shelter, both The Times and New York Post have reported that the Midtown hotel has not been used for migrants. However, the Candler Building in Times Square has been used as a housing center for illegal immigrants.
The DOJ’s move comes after NYC’s Roosevelt Hotel, which had been used as a shelter for illegal migrants, began shutting down its Asylum Arrival Center and Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center on Feb. 24.
Adams announced the closure of the migrant arrival center due to a significant drop in weekly arrivals. “Our city was receiving 4,000 migrants each week during the height of the crisis, and now we’re down to approximately 350 new arrivals each week,” Adams said.
Since President Donald Trump’s inauguration, his second administration has made significant efforts to get a hold of the illegal migrant crisis, as millions entered the U.S. under the Biden-Harris administration. Led by border czar Tom Homan and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the Trump administration has made over 30,000 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests.
The DOJ did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.“

EXCERPT: “Ahead of the COP30 climate summit in Belém, Brazil, developers are carving a four-lane highway through protected tracts of the Amazon rainforest to ease travel for attendees.
The highway, one of several infrastructure projects fast-tracked for the summit, is meant to ease congestion for the more than 50,000 attendees expected in November. The state government insists the road is a “sustainable” development with wildlife crossings, bike lanes and solar lighting, but local critics argue it contradicts the very mission of the climate conference, according to the BBC.
“Everything was destroyed,” Claudio Verequete, a local resident whose family depended on the açaí trees that once stood where the road now cuts through the forest, told the BBC. “Our harvest has already been cut down. We no longer have that income to support our family.”
The highway, known as Avenida Liberdade, had been shelved multiple times in the past due to environmental concerns but was revived as part of a broader push to modernize Belém ahead of COP30, according to the outlet. State officials say the city’s transformation will leave a lasting legacy, including an expanded airport, new hotels and an ungraded port to accommodate cruise ships.
Adler Silveira, the Brazilian state of Pará’s infrastructure secretary, defended the highway project in a statement to the BBC, calling it an “important mobility intervention” that will benefit the local population long after the summit ends.
Satellite images of the area appear to show miles of cleared land where dense rainforest once stood. Conservationists warn that beyond immediate deforestation, the road could enable further illegal logging and land speculation, fragmenting ecosystems critical to carbon absorption, the BBC reported…..”

EXCERPT: “Vice President JD Vance gave a statement to CBS News for an article about his mother-in-law, Lakshmi Chilukuri. They probably wish they hadn’t sent the inquiry.
In his statement, Vance blasts the outlet for “harassing” his mother-in-law and handles the matter with the kind of grace and aplomb we’ve come to expect from the vice president.
The crux of the report in question is that Chilukuri, who works in the Molecular Biology department at UC San Diego, has advocated for DEI policies during her tenure at the University. And Vance, the terrible son-in-law he is, is trying to dismantle her life’s work. Or something.
Vance’s statement, which initially lauds the administration’s efforts to eliminate racist DEI policies from every institution, is printed within the piece.
“I don’t like DEI, and I’m proud of what our administration has done on that front,” he said.
At this point, one might imagine Vance delivering his remarks with a smile on his face, all while simultaneously nuking CBS for their pathetic attempt at driving a wedge between him and his mother-in-law.
“But I love my mother-in-law. If she doesn’t share my views on DEI, I suppose I’ll have to do what 99 percent of Americans do when confronted with a family member who doesn’t always agree with them: get over it,” Vance said. “I’ll choose instead to focus on her kindness and the fact that she’s an incredible mother and loving grandmother to the most important people in my life.”
Vance proceeded to scold CBS News for going after Chilukuri.
“This story exists because CBS has decided that harassing my mother-in-law is a reasonable price in order to attack President Trump,” he fired back…..”

EXCERPT: “First, it was ABC’s Martha Raddatz. Then, it was CBS’s Margaret Brennan. And now, Military.com’s Patricia Kime is the latest member of the propaganda press to get a well-deserved scolding from the Trump administration for masquerading her left-wing activism as reporting.
The moment came during a newly released sit-down exchange between Kime and Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins. The former congressman was sworn into the position last month following a bipartisan vote in the U.S. Senate.
“I need your help on something. I need your help because all I seem to be doing lately is fighting back against innuendo and rumor stories,” Collins told Kime. “In fact, Patricia, part of it is with you.”
The VA secretary took specific aim at a Feb. 5 story authored by Kime titled, “Elon Musk Aide Is Now Working at VA and Accessing Its Computer Systems.” Citing unconfirmed reports, the Military.com reporter wrote in her piece that, “Rumors began circulating Tuesday that DOGE representatives visited the VA on Tuesday with an intent to mine data on disability compensation and benefits.”
Passing what appeared to be a copy of the article to Kime, Collins criticized the so-called “journalist” for sensationalizing the unconfirmed rumors about the VA’s operations and asked her to commit to not publish similarly shoddy work in the future.
“When you start headlines with ‘there’s a rumor going around,’ and … ‘we’ve heard that,’ that hurts my veterans. That scares my veterans. That scares my employees, because it’s not true,” Collins said. “Will you commit to not doing that in the future?”
“Well, there was a DOGE representative [at the VA] that day,” Kime replied.
The VA secretary quickly shot back, saying that he has “a VA employee who is our DOGE liaison,” and that Kime “knew that, and could ask that question.”
“Nobody hid that from you. Nobody. We answered it, but it was reported as a rumor,” Collins later added…..”

“Putin Speaks on Ceasefire Proposal”
Clandestine, Mar 13, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “I see a lot of improper reporting about Putin’s comments about the ceasefire.
Putin agrees with Trump that there needs to be a permanent and peaceful end to this war, but Putin wants changes to the deal to ensure this will be PERMANENT peace, not a 30 day ceasefire, and is willing to work with Trump on progressing the deal that is beneficial to Russia’s objectives.
Putin said that he is “in favor” of the proposal, but that there are some “nuances” and “serious issues” that need to be addressed before the proposal can be progressed.
So for those saying Putin agreed to the ceasefire proposal on the table, that does not appear to be the case. Putin agreed with the overall idea of a ceasefire, but wants this to be a permanent ceasefire, not an opportunity for Ukraine to regroup.
Putin also addresses that the “original causes of the conflict” need to be addressed. Putin is alluding to his demands that he has been consistent with since the beginning of the invasion into Ukraine. Putin wants to ensure:
-NATO does not expand to Ukraine
-The complete demilitarization and “denazification” of Ukraine
-Russian-speaking regions in East to have their independence from Ukraine
-Addressing bioweapon development
-etc.
In conclusion, Putin wants peace, but wants to rework the proposal with Trump to ensure this is a permanent solution and not an opportunity for Zelensky/NATO to draw this out longer.”

The problem is, unfortunately, that many people are too lazy (minority, I hope) and most simply have too much going on in their everyday lives to do the searching required. That is why I do what I do on the 2 blogs – I DO have the time and I’m pretty good at research, plus I’m a skeptic at heart! Since I couldn’t possibly run for office or participate in the antiquated, good-ole-boy politics in this town (I tried – it didn’t go well!), and I’m getting old, so I can’t go out and physically affect anything….this is the only way for me to contribute. I think every citizen has a duty to participate and contribute in some way. Having served in the Army….my whole family has served, including at Gettysburg…it’s just bred into me.

“Are neonics critical to all crops? Research says no”
USRTK, Rebecca Raney | March 10, 2025
EXCERPT: “In 2018, Louis Robert, an agronomist in Québec, was fired after releasing controversial research about the limited effectiveness of neonicotinoid pesticides. After a year of asking his superiors at the Ministry of Agriculture to release the report, Robert sent the unpublished research to Radio-Canada.
The upshot of the study: That neonicotinoid seed treatments produced no significant difference in crop yields for corn and soybeans.
Shortly after he released the report to the press, while he was in a field giving a demonstration to farmers, Robert’s phone rang. It was his boss’s secretary, insisting that he return to the office immediately. “As soon as I got to the office, I was invited to a conference room, and my boss was there, and on the video was his boss in Québec City, and they handed me a letter signed by my ministry,” Robert said. “I was suspended from the department.”
The research that his superiors kept under wraps was one of several studies in the last decade that have shown that in corn and soybeans, the economic benefits of using pesticide-treated seeds are questionable.
“Their research was clearly showing that those products were not giving any benefits to farmers,” Robert said. “But, at the same time, they were told by their bosses, by the board of directors, to not present those results to the outside world, and keep them to themselves for the time being.”
In Québec, in New York State and in Vermont, the findings of this study and others with similar conclusions contributed to the passage of laws that restricted the use of the insecticides, according to lawmakers and scientists.
This year, four more states are moving to limit the use of neonics, in addition to the 10 states that have already restricted. Discussion of economic benefits of the pesticides to farmers and consumers typically factor into these decisions.
Public drama in Québec
After Robert’s firing in Québec, public drama ensued. In fact, Robert wrote a book about it, called “Pour le bien de la terre,” or “For the good of the earth,” published by Éditions MultiMondes.
After the government received a petition with 17,000 signatures, and members of the public marched on the parliament in Québec City (during “the coldest day of winter,” Robert said), he was reinstated. Québec Premier François Legault and André Lamontagne, the minister of agriculture, issued personal apologies for the firing.
Robert said that people in Québec are aware of the issue, because of his story. “It was a huge scandal in Québec,” he said. “Nowadays, most people in Québec are aware of what is a neonic and what damage it does to bees and pollinators.”
Beyond Québec, a growing body of research is showing that fields often do not contain enough “insect pressure” – or, presence and number of insects in a field or a crop – to justify the rate at which neonicotinoid-treated seeds are used. In fact, data from the Canadian province Ontario have shown that crop yields for corn and soybeans increased after farmers stopped using them.
The most-used pesticides in history…….”

Something not covered — at least not that I’ve seen — is that Mahmoud Khalil likely possesses only a “conditional green card” and not permanent resident alien status.
When an alien not entitled to remain in the country marries a US citizen and then applies for a green card, they first get a “conditional green card” which is good for only 2 years. It is one mechanism to watch for sham marriages.
That requires an application specific to that purpose. So someone in the US on a student visa, who then marries a US citizen, applies first for a “marriage based” conditional green card.
The INS Form I-130 is filed by the US Citizen spouse to sponsor the alien spouse. It must be filed along with the application by the alien spouse for permanent resident alien status.
One noteworthy fact involving Khalil’s proceedings to date is the claim that 1) he’s married to a US citizen, and 2) he has a green card.
But on two occasions his attorney has read a statement from the spouse, but she has yet to be seen or identified.
The information on the Form I-130 is supposed to be verified by INS — the Biden INS.
All of that information is available to the Trump INS.
We should see in the next few days what that information is — and how much that is being reported about him in the media is true.

EXCERPT: “”The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) codified at 8 U.S. Code § 1182 applies to all aliens, meaning “any person not a citizen or national of the United States.” This term includes both visa holders and green card holders like Khalil.
The INA contains a number of activities for which a person can be deemed ineligible based on security and related grounds. The relevant subsection contains nine grounds related to terrorism, the majority of which are not controversial at all: members of terrorist organizations, people engaging in terrorism, etc.
The current debate concerns § 212(a)(3)(b)(i)(vii), which allows for the deportation of any alien who “endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization.” Some have claimed that deporting someone for these reasons violates the First Amendment. That is incorrect.
The premise of the question rests on the assumption that an alien (even a legal alien) has First Amendment rights that are exactly the same in every situation as the rights of a U.S. national or citizen. That is not the case. As the Supreme Court has made clear, sometimes the government may impose distinctions and conditions.
See, for example, Citizens United v. FEC (2010):
The question then becomes, how might speech rights be applied differently to foreigners? For example, could such a condition involve not advocating for certain groups that the government, for good reason, considers dangerous and a threat to national security?
As it turns out, more than 120 years of Supreme Court precedent explain that this is just such a condition the government might legitimately put on the holder of a visa or a green card without offending the First Amendment. Turner v. Williams was a case about anarchists who wanted to violently overthrow the government, but you can substitute for anarchists Hamas-affiliated anti-West agitators who want to violently overthrow our institutions. In that case, the court held:
So it is clear the First Amendment might apply with some conditions to foreigners. Based on longstanding Supreme Court precedent, it is perfectly constitutional for one of those conditions to be not endorsing or supporting terror in ways the government deems dangerous to society…..”
