Boston Massacre

Today marks the anniversary of the infamous Boston Massacre.  This article from History.com details the events and the aftermath.

The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that occurred on March 5, 1770, on King Street in Boston. It began as a street brawl between American colonists and a lone British soldier, but quickly escalated to a chaotic, bloody slaughter. The conflict energized anti-British sentiment and paved the way for the American Revolution.

Tensions ran high in Boston in early 1770. More than 2,000 British soldiers occupied the city of 16,000 colonists and tried to enforce Britain’s tax laws, like the Stamp Act and Townshend Acts. American colonists rebelled against the taxes they found repressive, rallying around the cry, “no taxation without representation.” Skirmishes between colonists and soldiers—and between patriot colonists and colonists loyal to Britain (loyalists)—were increasingly common. To protest taxes, patriots often vandalized stores selling British goods and intimidated store merchants and their customers.

On February 22, a mob of patriots attacked a known loyalist’s store. Customs officer Ebenezer Richardson lived near the store and tried to break up the rock-pelting crowd by firing his gun through the window of his home. His gunfire struck and killed an 11-year-old boy named Christopher Seider and further enraged the patriots. Several days later, a fight broke out between local workers and British soldiers. It ended without serious bloodshed but helped set the stage for the bloody incident yet to come.

On the frigid, snowy evening of March 5, 1770, Private Hugh White was the only soldier guarding the King’s money stored inside the Custom House on King Street. It wasn’t long before angry colonists joined him and insulted him and threatened violence.

At some point, White fought back and struck a colonist with his bayonet. In retaliation, the colonists pelted him with snowballs, ice and stones. Bells started ringing throughout the town—usually a warning of fire—sending a mass of male colonists into the streets. As the assault on White continued, he eventually fell and called for reinforcements.

In response to White’s plea and fearing mass riots and the loss of the King’s money, Captain Thomas Preston arrived on the scene with several soldiers and took up a defensive position in front of the Custom House. Worried that bloodshed was inevitable, some colonists reportedly pleaded with the soldiers to hold their fire as others dared them to shoot. Preston later reported a colonist told him the protestors planned to “carry off [White] from his post and probably murder him.”

The violence escalated, and the colonists struck the soldiers with clubs and sticks. Reports differ of exactly what happened next, but after someone supposedly said the word “fire,” a soldier fired his gun, although it’s unclear if the discharge was intentional. Once the first shot rang out, other soldiers opened fire, killing five colonists–including Crispus Attucks, a local dockworker of mixed racial heritage–and wounding six. Among the other casualties of the Boston Massacre was Samuel Gray, a rope maker who was left with a hole the size of a fist in his head. Sailor James Caldwell was hit twice before dying, and Samuel Maverick and Patrick Carr were mortally wounded. Within hours, Preston and his soldiers were arrested and jailed and the propaganda machine was in full force on both sides of the conflict.

Preston wrote his version of the events from his jail cell for publication, while Sons of Liberty leaders such as John Hancock and Samuel Adams incited colonists to keep fighting the British. As tensions rose, British troops retreated from Boston to Fort William.

Paul Revere encouraged anti-British attitudes by etching a now-famous engraving depicting British soldiers callously murdering American colonists. It showed the British as the instigators though the colonists had started the fight. It also portrayed the soldiers as vicious men and the colonists as gentlemen. It was later determined that Revere had copied his engraving from one made by Boston artist Henry Pelham.

It took seven months to arraign Preston and the other soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre and bring them to trial. Ironically, it was American colonist, lawyer and future President of the United States John Adams who defended them.

Adams was no fan of the British but wanted Preston and his men to receive a fair trial. After all, the death penalty was at stake and the colonists didn’t want the British to have an excuse to even the score. Certain that impartial jurors were nonexistent in Boston, Adams convinced the judge to seat a jury of non-Bostonians.

During Preston’s trial, Adams argued that confusion that night was rampant. Eyewitnesses presented contradictory evidence on whether Preston had ordered his men to fire on the colonists. But after witness Richard Palmes testified that, “…After the Gun went off I heard the word ‘fire!’ The Captain and I stood in front about half between the breech and muzzle of the Guns. I don’t know who gave the word to fire,” Adams argued that reasonable doubt existed; Preston was found not guilty.

The remaining soldiers claimed self-defense and were all found not guilty of murder. Two of them—Hugh Montgomery and Matthew Kilroy—were found guilty of manslaughter and were branded on the thumbs as first offenders per English law. To Adams’ and the jury’s credit, the British soldiers received a fair trial despite the vitriol felt towards them and their country.

The Boston Massacre had a major impact on relations between Britain and the American colonists. It further incensed colonists already weary of British rule and unfair taxation and roused them to fight for independence.

Yet perhaps Preston said it best when he wrote about the conflict and said, “None of them was a hero. The victims were troublemakers who got more than they deserved. The soldiers were professionals…who shouldn’t have panicked. The whole thing shouldn’t have happened.”

Over the next five years, the colonists continued their rebellion and staged the Boston Tea Party, formed the First Continental Congress and defended their militia arsenal at Concord against the redcoats, effectively launching the American Revolution. Today, the city of Boston has a Boston Massacre site marker at the intersection of Congress Street and State Street, a few yards from where the first shots were fired.

    I’ve been reading about the Boston Tea Party, and other events leading up to the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War.

    Also have been reading articles and posts that make me think Britain and even Europe are really our ‘frenemies’ as the young people say.

    I didn’t see or hear the State of the Union last night – I was too tired from my two-way trip to and from the Village yesterday to pick up mail, go to Walmart and Publix, loading and unloading vehicle. Went to bet at 8pm.  

    I needed to get some nutrition drinks, some flavored sparkling water that an Speech Therapist (they also specialize in swallowing therapy) recommended that might help Sally to swallow better. Sally is a bit worse every day and I may be the sole caregiver at the end, if Sabrina has to have surgery. Boy howdy, I’m unequipped for taking care of a seriously ill patient at the end of life.

    I’m planning to watch the speech this morning. I heard Pelosi and the other nasty women in Congress/Senate were planning to wear pink this time and others were planning to interrupt and disrupt the speech.

    The left are getting nastier as the culture gets nastier – even in the hallowed halls of Congress.
    Whoever thought the liberals would turn criminals who rape women and children loose again?  
    Whoever thought the left would allow and even excuse shoplifting, looting, burning, assault?
    Whoever thought liberals would allow illegals to cross our borders, put them up in hotels, give them Social Security, welfare, healthcare, food stamps and other benefits and allow them to conduct gang warfare and take over apartment complexes?
    Whoever thought celebrities would appear naked or in vulgar outfits at red carpet events?  
    Whoever thought porn and prostitution would be tolerated and given euphemistic titles?
    Whoever thought our country would tolerate killing unborn babies and selling their tissue and organs?
    Whoever thought our researchers would engineer and weaponize a virus designed to target and kill vulnerable people?
    Whoever thought our hospitals and doctors would perpetrate a fake pandemic and kill patients with bad protocols?  
    Whoever thought our country would tolerate pervert predators and groomers confusing and preying upon children in schools, and US hospitals would establish ‘gender clinics’ to mutilate their bodies forever?
    Whoever thought congress would devise ways and means to drain the coffers of the government and would object so strenuously to audits, balancing the budget, eliminating waste?

    the warmer temps yesterday brought an unexpected (and unwanted) guest to our deck. just after dusk, i heard something moving on the deck and turned on the lights–a porcupine was lumbering towards the steps. when it gets much lighter out, I’ll have to check to see what he damaged.

    Key Panama Canal Ports to Be Brought Under American Control

    In a major win for President Donald Trump, a consortium of U.S. investors—led by American asset manager BlackRock—has reportedly struck a $22.8 billion deal buying majority stakes in ports on both sides of the Panama Canal from Hong Kong-based conglomerate CK Hutchinson.

    This acquisition would bring these two key ports, which are situated at either end of the crucial shipping lane, under American corporate ownership following pressure Trump put on Panama to limit Chinese operations there.

    BlackRock has briefed the Trump administration and Congress on the agreement, a source told The Wall Street Journal.

    Trump has repeatedly raised the alarm about China’s influence over the canal. “China is operating the Panama Canal, and we didn’t give it to China. We gave it to Panama, and we’re taking it back,” Trump said in his inaugural address, referring to a Jimmy Carter-era treaty that had handed control of the canal to Panama, though the U.S. built it.

    Now, in the wake of Trump’s threats to retake the waterway, the Hong Kong firm is selling its stake in the critical Panama Canal entryways.

    CK Hutchison had held 90 percent control of the Panama Ports Company, which owns and operates the ports of Balboa and Cristobal on each end of the canal. Chinese infrastructure has been built up along the canal, causing concerns about how China could use the ports for military purposes and to monitor the movement of ships through the passage.

    Last month, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Panama and told Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino that they had to reduce China’s sway over the canal’s operations or potentially face retaliation from the U.S…

    Another reason Zelensky cannot allow this war to end, is because he is covering up Deep State bioweapon development in Ukraine.

    This is why Fauci and Hunter’s pardons begin in 2014.

    This is why Zelensky ordered the destruction of all files associated with Hunter Biden’s biolab company, Metabiota.

    This is why the media mercilessly attacks anyone who talks about the biolabs in Ukraine, to include RFK Jr. and Tulsi.

    This is why Zelensky can’t surrender.

    If this war ends, Putin and Russian MIL have been adamant that there must be a formal investigation into US/Ukrainian bioweapon development in Ukraine.

    This will surely be part of the negotiations between Trump and Putin.

    Putin wants justice for Covid, and he claims George Soros and his puppets are behind it all.

    Some of Trump’s closest advisors and most important cabinet positions, Elon, Tulsi, and RFK Jr., have also echoed the importance of this exact situation.

    Many keep asking about what we will find when we investigate where the money went in Ukraine.

    Eventually, we will end up at crimes against humanity.

  7. Red State: “As we reported earlier, there was some obnoxious misbehavior early by the Democrats at the joint address President Donald Trump delivered to Congress. It looked like their intent was to keep acting up and making noise while Trump spoke. 

    But Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was having none of that, he was running a tight ship. He called for the Sergeant-at-Arms to maintain order and usher out anyone who was being disruptive. Rep. Al Green (D-TX) continued to yell, and it was a complete fail since you couldn’t even hear what he had to say. Then he got booted out. Not a good look also to be waving around a cane. 

    So what was he yelling about? He explained to the media outside in the hallway that he was concerned about Trump cutting Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. 

    Now, that’s pretty bizarre since Trump has said repeatedly he has no intention to do any such thing. Indeed he reiterated he wanted to strengthen the system by calling out waste, fraud, and abuse, noting the number of people from 100 to 300+ years old who were listed as active in the Social Security database. That makes things better for everyone. 

    Green said he had “people who were very fearful.” Yes, because you’re making them afraid over a false claim. 

    The Democrats just can’t stop lying about this. This is all they are left with, which shows you how very little they have legitimately to object to. 

    He said he was willing to “accept punishment” for his actions for the imaginary action of objecting to something that isn’t happening. Then he claimed he was pursuing impeachment against Trump. For what? Who knows? Is he going to impeach him for being more popular and right than the Democrats? It was just a master class in how out of control and out of touch Democrats are at his point. 

    As Fox’s Dana Perino even noted after a positive speech from Trump, it showed Democrats had no common sense. It was a great vision Trump laid out, and all the Democrats could do was sulk.”

    ENTIRE ARTICLE: “As RedState reported, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu stooped to a new low during a press briefing in the aftermath of a Saturday incident at a Chick-fil-A restaurant where an off-duty police officer took down a knife-wielding man who allegedly tried to stab two people.

    According to local news outlets, “the armed suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Lmark Jaramillo of Roslindale, allegedly chased two people into the busy fast food restaurant and was trying to stab them” when the off-duty policeman shot and killed him after first trying to reason with him.

    “My condolences and all of our thoughts are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost, and I’m also thinking of all the people who were impacted here today in one of the busier parts of the city with this tragedy,” a clearly distraught Wu told reporters on the scene without praising the heroic actions of the off-duty officer.

    Other so-called Boston leaders including their police commissioner took a similar approach:

    “This is a pretty tragic incident,” Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox added. “We don’t look for loss of life so our condolences go to the individual who was killed tonight.”

    Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden also offered his “thoughts and prayers” to the family of the attacker.

    When DOJ Attorney General Pam Bondi caught wind of their remarks, she took to the Twitter/X machine on Monday and wrote this:

    This DOJ will NEVER apologize for taking down dangerous criminals and getting them off our streets.  

    Thank you to the brave law enforcement officer in Boston who stepped up to protect those in need.  

    Politicians who want to apologize to criminals should not be in office!

    However, things got worse for Wu when she responded to all the criticism of what she said by doubling down while belatedly offering praise for law enforcement.

    “It’s unfortunate to politicize being at the scene of a tragic incident,” Wu declared according to NBC Boston. “I expressed condolences because every loss of life is a horrible tragedy. I am also grateful every hour of every day for the work of our Boston police officers.”

    On Tuesday, a still-unamused Bondi announced that enforcement efforts would be stepped up in Boston as a result of Wu’s soft on crime approach, which has included purposely defying ICE and allowing dangerous criminal illegal immigrants to lurk on city streets:

    I’d like to extend my condolences to the good people of Boston. Mayor Wu’s actions are callous and an insult to law enforcement across America.

    As a result of the Mayor’s decision to side with public safety threats over law-abiding citizens, DOJ will have no choice but to increase efforts in the city of Boston. Criminals will be prosecuted, illegal aliens will be arrested, and justice will be served.

    Bondi’s FAFO treatment of Wu comes just one day before Wu, along with three other woke blue city mayors, are set to appear before the James Comer-led House Oversight Committee for a hearing on their sanctuary city policies. So if you were thinking Wu’s week was about to get much worse, you’d be right.”

    ENTIRE ARTICLE (sans Tweet links): “I am assigned the role of being the dour critic of speeches and debates, but this time I can’t find a bad thing to say about Donald Trump’s speech last night. 

    Not one damn thing. It was quite literally the best speech before Congress ever, and that is saying a lot. I watched all Reagan’s SOTU speeches, and they were great. But Trump really took these speeches to a new level by avoiding the “laundry list” approach to SOTU speeches and instead leaned into a different Reagan innovation: telling the American story through focusing on ordinary Americans and what brings us together. 

    The absolute highlight of the speech came when Trump featured DJ, the young man with brain cancer who always wanted to be a police officer. Sean Curran, the head of the Secret Service, was instructed by Trump to name him a Secret Service agent and the moment made me, and millions of others, weep for joy. 

    Which brings us to the other major feature of the night. Democrats, who decided that anything related to Trump in any way is evil, sat on their hands as the rest of America cheered and teared up for a brave young man. 

    They sat there looking more dour than I often am. 

    As Trump’s rhetoric soared in a way that is so unusual for him, Democrats decided to boo police officers, cheer on Tren de Aragua, and show disapproval for Trump designating Mexican drug cartels as terrorists. 

    Have been in the House chamber for the speech as I have for many. Have not seen an opposition party mount a protest like tonight. House and Senate Democratic leaders didn’t join the escort committee for the president. Dems turned their back on him when he entered the chamber and didn’t shake his hand. They didn’t applaud virtually anything. Several walked out in the middle of the speech.Lots of signs in the back being held up by Dem members — and repeated shouts of “lies” and “you’re lying.”And a Dem member — Al Green — was escorted out by the House sergeant-at-arms for interrupting Trump for an extended period. Dem leaders endorsed the no-applause strategy. But Jeffries and his deputies urged members against signs and props and loud outbursts.

    Democrats proved that they have yet to learn how to read the room. Trump’s speech was uncharacteristically upbeat for a man who often rails against what ails America. He was sunny, proactive, funny, and charming.

    He praised Americans who have made our country great, comforted those who have been injured by fate or malice, and embraced our better angels and promised a better future. 

    So how did Democrats react to Trump giving a young man dying of cancer his Secret Service badge? “Disgusting,” said Rachel Maddow. 

    You can’t hate these people enough. 

    Democrats chose to look sullen and angry at every applause line, no matter how uncontroversial. An American brought home from a brutal Russian prison? How terrible, the Democrats seem to say. He must have deserved it because Trump helped bring him home. The Democrats wouldn’t even applaud Laken Riley’s mom and acknowledge her suffering, because apparently that would make illegal aliens look bad or something. 

    Politically, Democrats walked right into Donald Trump’s political trap. He baited them with humor, and they responded with radiated hate directed not just at him but everything he praised, including things and people every American supports. He called on our better natures, and they rebuffed him. 

    Trump didn’t shy away from partisan digs, but they were aimed at Biden, a target we can all agree deserves disdain. Democrats as much as anyone should despise Biden given that he led them into the political wilderness, but apparently they are determined to wander in that political desert for the next forty years as they worship the golden transgender calf. 

    The Democrats would NOT stand for…

    Ending Wasteful Spending
    Removing 150yr old + people from Social Security
    Protecting women’s sports from men
    2 Genders
    Free Speech

    They hate your free will. They hate your voice. They hate you being empowered.

    Major Garrett of CBS gave what seemed an insightful take on the speech:

    CBS’s Major Garrett on President Trump’s address: “So, I’ve learned to be humble about analyzing speeches like this because the country often catches on to things that those of us in Washington might not sift the way the country does. When the President listed things that he thought were extravagant examples of wasteful spending, those of us around this table might say, well, that’s not going to be enough, even if you cut all that to balance the budget which is $840 billion, out of balance. Americans will hear it and say wait a minute, those things found wasteful to me. Sounds like Elon Musk and the President are onto something. There was also tremendous emotive power in several parts of the speech and I think it will resonate across the country, whether it’s Lake Riley slain, her mother and sister or Marc and his mother, Malphine Fogel, rescued, brought back from Russia, or a Border Patrol agent Roberto Ortiz, or Stephanie Diller, the surviving spouse of a slain New York City police officer. Those things carry emotional weight not only the moment, but probably, inevitably in the pass around social media dissection of the speech. I keep my eyes and ears tuned to emotional moments like that that often jump over the instantaneous Beltway analysis.”

    Democrats project their emotional reaction, which was hate. Trump, on the other hand, came off as optimistic and even loving of ordinary Americans. I know which one I think people will gravitate toward. 

    Just as Zelenskyy committed the worst own-goal in diplomatic history last Friday, the Democrats committed one of the worst I have seen in a long time. The only way they could have made it worse was to ask Kamala Harris to give the SOTU rebuttal, but even they were not that stupid.”

  11. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Tuesday recognized 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was allegedly murdered by illegal immigrants, by signing an executive order renaming a wildlife refuge.

    On June 17, Nungaray’s body was found in a bayou under a bridge in north Houston. The cause of death was strangulation. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg announced in December that her office was seeking the death penalty in the prosecution of two illegal foreign nationals from Venezuela who are charged with murdering and sexual assaulting Nungaray.

    Nungaray’s mother, Alexis, was in attendance of Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday.

    Trump criticized the Biden administration’s border policies and contrasted them with his own.

    “Since taking office, my administration has launched the most sweeping border and immigration crackdown in American history, and we quickly achieved the lowest numbers of illegal border crossers ever recorded,” Trump said. “The media and our friends in the Democrat Party kept saying, ‘We needed new legislation. We must have legislation to secure the border.’ But it turned out that all we really needed was a new president.”

    “Joe Biden didn’t just open our borders. He flew illegal aliens over them to overwhelm our schools, hospitals and communities throughout the country, entire towns like Aurora, Colorado, and Springfield, Ohio, buckled under the weight of the migrant occupation and corruption like nobody’s ever seen before. Beautiful towns destroyed now, just as I promised in my inaugural address, we are achieving the great liberation of America,” he added.

    “But there still is much work to be done. Here tonight is a woman I have gotten to know, Alexis Nungaray from Houston, wonderful woman. Last June, Alexis’ 12-year-old daughter, Jocelyn, walked to a nearby convenience store. She was kidnapped, tied up, assaulted for two hours under a bridge and horrifically murdered. Arrested and charged with this heinous crime are two illegal alien monsters from Venezuela, released into America by the last administration through their ridiculous open border. The death of this beautiful 12-year-old girl and the agony of her mother and family touched our entire nation greatly,” Trump said.

    “Alexis, I promised that we would always remember your daughter, your magnificent daughter, and earlier tonight, I signed an order keeping my word to you. One thing I have learned about Jocelyn is that she loved animals so much, she loved nature. Across Galveston Bay from where Jocelyn lived in Houston, you will find a magnificent national wildlife refuge — a pristine, peaceful, 34,000-acre sanctuary for all of God’s creatures on the edge of the Gulf of America. Alexis, moments ago, I formally renamed that refuge in loving memory of your beautiful daughter Jocelyn.”

    The optics could not have been worse.

    The Dems have been relegated to holding signs in the corner and pouting, while Trump cleans up the mess THEY created.

    They refused to clap even for the American citizens that Trump honored. They couldn’t stand and clap for steel workers, farmers, the mothers of children who had been murdered, or the young man with brain cancer, etc., but they were willing to clap for sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine…

    They showed that they are willing to put politics before the American People. This is apparent with their policies, but tonight we saw it play out in real time.

    It also didn’t help the Dems that Trump called them all human traffickers to their faces in front of the entire nation, which is WILD. I’m curious to see if the MSM address that or ignore it, we shall see.

    Trump and the Republicans appear to be competent, sane, goal-oriented, professional, and pro-American, while the Dems are incompetent, irrational, directionless, petulant, and anti-American.

    Tonight, the Dems proved to the entire world that they are an unserious group of people who are unfit to rule. We can never let them hold power ever again.”

    Another Take: I counted 95 standing ovations during President Trump’s Address to the Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, and there was much to applaud.

    I recently rewatched the show Scandal on demand – highly recommend if you want to see Team Obama brandish the method through creative storytelling and “fiction” – and as President Trump methodically outlined his accomplishments to date, in week seven, I recalled an important storyline. President Grant in the show is trying to make his historic mark in his first 100 days, and he puts everything he has into passing an immigration reform bill. It’s a whole of government effort for one piece of legislation.

    And that’s what we’ve been led to believe, that these are serious people working hard to ensure the right legislation is passed for the people. What a load of crap.

    President Trump has been in office 44 days, and he has reshaped immigration, education, foreign policy, trade policy, economic policy, innovation policy, health policy, and more. He even signed legislation into law. First 100 days? Trump signed the Laken Riley Act into law on day nine.

    It’s almost like the gridlock in our government was intentional.

    Two key moments stuck out for me. When Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel was named an honorary US Secret Service agent, and gave the Secret Service Director Sean Curran a hug that we could feel through the screen, I sobbed. Precious.

    And when Trump suggested getting rid of the CHIPS Act and using the savings to reduce the deficit – because the CHIPS Act was a giveaway that actually harmed the US chip manufacturing industry – I cheered. Mainly because it was a massive slap in the face to useless democrats that, like everything else, ostensibly used the legislative vehicle for personal gain.

    Al Green was thrown out for being shouty, and the Democrats brought shirts, signs, and other props to show how serious they are, while refusing to applaud for regular Americans being honored in the galley. You don’t hate them enough.

    After the speech, that CIA chick told us, again, that she was a “former” CIA officer, and then she said a bunch of incoherent nonsense that has nothing to do with Agenda 47.

    US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky should go to a sauna to fix their relationship, Finnish President Alexander Stubb has suggested, likening their recent White House squabble to a dispute between spouses.

    Last Friday, Zelensky traveled to Washington to sign a minerals deal with the US. However, his visit was cut short after he was asked to leave the White House after a heated exchange between himself, Trump and US Vice President J.D. Vance. The Ukrainian leader was accused of ungratefulness, disrespecting the Oval Office and “gambling with World War III” by refusing to work towards peace with Russia.

      Everyone – look at the details of what the DC court ordered the Federal government to do:

      Pay the bill for contracted work that has already been completed.

      Completed.

      I actually agree with this court order and Supreme Court ruling.

      The US government should pay the bills for stuff we asked for and the work was done.

      One can argue all day whether or not we should have asked for certain things in the first place. One can also argue that maybe there was grift, fraud and waste and that we cannot prove if the work was actually completed to our satisfaction or if the vendor complied with all the fine print… but that is something that would need to be reviewed and acted upon line by line and through a contract dispute resolution process.

      In conclusion, IMO, pay need to pay outstanding bills. That is all this is.

    Blackrock Strikes $23 Billion Deal to Place Panama Canal Ports Under American Control

    The Hong Kong-based conglomerate that operates ports near the Panama Canal has agreed to sell shares of its units that operate the ports to a consortium including BlackRock Inc., after President Trump alleged Chinese interference with the operations of the critical shipping lane.

    In a filing, CK Hutchison Holding said Tuesday that it would sell all shares in Hutchison Port Holdings and all shares in Hutchison Port Group Holdings. The two units hold 80% of the Hutchison Ports group that operates 43 ports in 23 countries, including two of the four major ports that exist along the Panama Canal. The deal will give the BlackRock consortium control over 43 ports in 23 countries, including Mexico, the Netherlands, Egypt, Australia, Pakistan and elsewhere.

    The consortium, comprised of BlackRock, Global Infrastructure Partners and Terminal Investment Limited will acquire 90% interests in Panama Ports Company, which owns and operates the ports of Balboa and Cristobal in Panama, according to the filing.

    “This agreement is a powerful illustration of BlackRock and GIP’s combined platform and our ability to deliver differentiated investments for clients. These world-class ports facilitate global growth,” BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said in a joint announcement with TilL of the deal. – CBS News

    Our Take: Larry Fink has been on quite the journey with President Trump.

    In 2017, he resigned from President Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum after the Charlottesville riots, stating that he could no longer be a part of it “in good conscience” due to the president’s handling of that totally edited clip and false narrative situation.

    The following year, in 2018, Fink went all in on environmental, social, and governance (ESG), emphasizing its importance in his annual letter to CEOs and advocating for companies to focus on long-term goals, including addressing climate change. By the end of Trump’s first term, BlackRock had become a prominent advocate for sustainable investing, and Fink reiterated that BlackRock would push companies to address climate risk in their business models.

    During the Biden Administration, Fink appeared terminally retarded, doubling down on ESG initiatives in 2021 despite criticism from powerless conservative politicians and groups. Fink stood by the need for corporate responsibility on environmental and social issues. By 2022, however, Fink’s stance on ESG showed hints of softening, and his approach in supporting ESG principles without fully embracing them.

    Then in 2024, perhaps reading the room and realizing that Trump was going to win, Fink began to scale back. BlackRock withdrew from the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) alliance, shifted focus away from aggressive climate commitments.

    MSM suggested at the time that this was a signal that the political landscape and public opinion had influenced BlackRock’s strategy. I’m not so sure. I think it’s about money and power, which leads me to the big question…

    Did BlackRock bend the knee or are they infiltrating?

    Since Trump assumed office, BlackRock has further distanced itself from DEI, including removing DEI-related language from their annual review process. Changing BlackRock positions on things like DEI is not the stuff if whims. “Less focus on DEI” means, for the CEOs he’s talking to, changes to people, process, and technology. Still, if you wanted to proper DOGE the corporations, Larry Fink could make the process go a lot faster.

    Marxism never gets defeated. It evolves. And the Prussian playbook is infiltration instead of invasion. Is BlackRock resetting, evolving, infiltrating?

I’m not particularly fond of their hardcore masculinity but on one subject, I have always agreed to a certain extent – women often do bear some responsibility for some “sexual assaults” by acting like a whore in the first place! If you’re gonna advertise, you’d best be ready to pay up, IMO! You can be sexy without debasing yourself! It’s called class and knowing the environment – reading the room, so to speak!     ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Thirteen-year-old student “M.P.” at Peoples Academy Middle Level school in Morristown, Vermont, recently donned a shirt displaying the woke-verboten statement that “There are only 2 genders,” and she was disciplined for it. In classic civil disobedience, M.P. bravely wore the shirt to school again. And the school disciplined her again.

    Aghast that M.P. would be reprimanded for the simple, commonsense message on her shirt, her mother and stepfather contacted and retained the Thomas More Society, a national public interest law firm “defending life, family, and freedom.”

    In a letter to school officials, Thomas More Society special counsel Adam Hochschild said M.P. had been illegally targeted by the school’s principal by “pulling [M.P.] out of class, reprimanding her, punishing her with in-school suspension, and calling her shirt ‘hate speech.’”

    Hochschild invoked the 1969 Supreme Court case Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District, which concerned students disciplined for wearing black arm bands in protest against the Vietnam War. The court ruled displeased school officials were not permitted to regulate such student speech: “Clearly, the prohibition of expression of one particular opinion, at least without evidence that it is necessary to avoid material and substantial interference with schoolwork or discipline, is not constitutionally permissible.”

    Hochschild further criticized the school’s practice as violating M.P.’s religious liberties, because “her decision to wear the shirt is motivated, in part, by Genesis 1:27 (‘God created mankind in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.’)” As the Supreme Court recently recognized in a case involving a praying football coach, the free exercise and free speech clauses of the First Amendment “work in tandem.”

    Thankfully, the school relented. Perhaps it was influenced by President Donald Trump’s Jan. 20, 2025, executive order recognizing the “incontrovertible reality” that there are only two sexes and directing the termination of “federal funding of gender ideology.” Peoples Academy receives federal funding.

    Even though the school had relented, sadly M.P. was threatened with discipline yet again by a teacher when M.P. next wore the shirt to school the following week. But the school acknowledged that should not have happened; the teacher’s errant rebuke was retracted.

    M.P. is determined — backed by legal counsel, the president of the United States, the Constitution, and the school’s capitulation — to try to exercise her basic First Amendment rights unhindered by government restraint. She plans to wear the shirt to school again this month.

    Similar Case in Massachusetts

    Meanwhile, a virtually identical scenario involving another brave middle-school shirt-wearer from Middleborough, Massachusetts, is pending before the Supreme Court, with a petition filed by nonprofit organizations Alliance Defending Freedom and Massachusetts Family Institute. L.M. v. Town of Middleborough involves the exact same only-two-genders shirt. Unfortunately, the school in that case, unlike Peoples Academy in Vermont, stubbornly refused to recognize the First Amendment rights of its students. The student filed suit and lost in the lower courts.

    Middleborough’s attorney Kay. H. Hodge absurdly explained:

    At the present time, Massachusetts law provides protection against discrimination, harassment and bullying on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

    Those protections prohibit communications, whether oral, written, electronic or through the wearing of apparel, that may reasonably be considered intimidating, hostile, offensive or unwelcome based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other status protected by law and/or may otherwise be reasonably likely to lead to a disruption of its operations.

    Isn’t the school’s LGBT messaging offensive to observing Christians, Muslims, and Jews, and thus a secular (and patently un-scientific) violation of the protections of those religions? “Protecting” people who are confused about their sex by eliminating scientific inquiry or banning expression of devout moral views is an overt attack on other people’s faiths and sex (actual “protected” categories under the law).

    The Massachusetts school system is imposing a draconian regulation of speech that insists religious traditions’ millennia-old views (and biological fact) are somehow inherently cruel. This is utterly ridiculous — and passes unfair and unkind judgment on kids like M.P. and L.M. who want to express, as is their constitutional right, what they believe, which also happens to be a basic truth: that there are only two sexes.

    As M.P. prepares to dress for her new free speech safe space at Peoples Academy Middle Level school, she is excited to express her views without the threat of official retaliation. She said: “I just wanted to wear a shirt that says something simple and true and important to me as a Christian. I’m glad the school is now letting me wear it!”

    We may learn soon if the Supreme Court will take up L.M.’s case and recognize the same rights M.P. can now enjoy at her school.

    School bureaucrats across the nation must reckon with the fact that they have abridged fundamental constitutional liberties in their zeal to indoctrinate and bully their young charges.”

    The Supreme Court also refused to stop Judge Amy Berman Jackson (we need a complete shut down of all “Amy” judges with two last names until we figure out what the hell is going on) from keeping Dem activist and Biden family friend Hampton Dellinger as Trump’s special counsel.

    He is now abusing his power by asking Merit Systems Protection Board (all Biden appointees) to keep almost 6,000 USDA probationary employees fired by the president on the job.

    Dellinger used a single USDA employee complaint to seek such a broad request. He will continue to thwart Trump’s agenda as long as the DC circuit drags out his case and it gets back to SCOTUS.

    The Federalist: “What a difference a year makes. During former President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address, the distraught father of a slain Marine was removed from the room and arrested for interrupting Biden’s speech.

    Steve Nikoui, father of Marine Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, shouted “Abbey Gate,” and “Second Battalion First Marines!” His son, 20, was one of 13 Americans killed by an ISIS suicide bomber during Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. There was no tolerance for a grieving father. Nikoui was handcuffed and charged for disrupting Congress. The charges were later dropped.

    Before President Donald Trump addressed the joint meeting of Congress Tuesday night, he contacted the 13 Gold Star families who lost a loved one at the Kabul Airport bombing and gave them a measure of closure, telling them the U.S. Government worked with the Government of Pakistan and arrested Mohammad Sharifullah, the suspected mastermind behind the bombing.  

    During his speech, Trump announced Sharifullah was on his way to the U.S. “to face the swift sword of American justice.”

    “I spoke to many of the parents and loved ones, and they were all in our hearts tonight. Just spoke to them on the phone. We had a big call. Every one of them called, and everybody was on the line, and they did nothing but cry with happiness,” Trump said in his speech. “They were very happy, as happy as you can be under those circumstances. Their child, brother, sister, son, daughter was killed for no reason whatsoever in the Middle East.”

    When clumsy Biden tried to express empathy to parents who lost a child, he made it about himself and spoke of his sorrow in losing his son, Beau Biden, to brain cancer. But Biden was fake. If he cared about anyone’s grief but his own, he would never have allowed Nikoui to be charged. He could have spoken to him from the podium and taken some accountability for his son’s death. Of course, Biden was not sharp enough to think on his feet by then. Even if he had all his marbles, compassion for others was not his strong suit, and it’s hard to know what to say to someone processing a death.

    Responding to tragedy is an expected and difficult task for the president. Biden blew it. Trump has mastered it.

    As The Federalist’s Jordan Boyd reported, Gold Star families connected to the Afghanistan withdrawal felt let down by the Biden administration both in how Biden put their loved ones in harm’s way and the way he dealt with them personally.

    Trump responds to grief differently. He focuses on the person in pain, not himself. He has a masterful way of communicating the tragedy of their grief. And he doesn’t have one obligatory conversation and move on; Trump develops relationships with the families of victims and speaks their names often. He mentioned several loved ones in Tuesday’s speech, making heartfelt remarks to the family of Laken Riley, who was killed by an illegal alien, and the widow of New York Police Officer Jonathan Diller, who was shot and killed while on duty.

    Trump remembered Corey Comperatore, who was fatally shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, in an attempted assassination on Trump.

    “When the sound of gunshots pierced the air, it was a horrible sound. Corey knew instantly what it was and what to do. He threw himself on top of his wife and daughters and shielded them from the bullets with his own body. Corey was hit really hard. You know, the story from there, he sacrificed his life to save theirs,” Trump said.

    “To Helen, Allison and Kaylee, Corey is looking down on his three beautiful ladies right now, and he is cheering you on. He loves you … Corey was taken from us much too soon, but his destiny was to leave us all with a shining example of the selfless devotion of a true American patriot. It was love like Corey’s that built our country. It’s love like Corey’s that is going to make our country more majestic than ever before. I believe that my life was saved that day in Butler for a very good reason. I was saved by God to make America great again. I believe that.”

    Because he is able to capture authentic emotion, Trump validates the experiences of people in pain. When he tells their stories, the families of victims are able to share their grief, and know their loved one is not forgotten, their life was not wasted, their death matters.”
