National Pistachio Day!

Pistachios are rich in various nutrients and may support weight loss, gut health, blood sugar management, and heart health. They can be enjoyed in many recipes. Pistachio nuts are not only tasty and fun to eat, but also highly nutritious. In fact, these edible seeds of the Pistacia vera tree contain healthy fats and are a good source of protein, fiber, and antioxidants. Pistachio intake can be traced back nearly 300,000 years. Nowadays, they’re very popular in many dishes, including ice cream and desserts.

Here are 9 evidence-based health benefits of pistachios.

1 Loaded with nutrients

Pistachios are very nutritious, with a 1-ounce (oz), or 28-gram (g), serving of about 49 pistachios containing the following nutrients:

Calories: 159

Carbs: 8 g

Fiber: 3 g

Protein: 6 g

Fat: 13 g

Potassium: 6% of the Daily Value (DV)

Phosphorus: 11% of the DV

Vitamin B6: 28% of the DV

Thiamine: 21% of the DV

Copper: 41% of the DV

Manganese: 15% of the DV

Notably, pistachios are one of the most Vitamin B6-rich foods available. Vitamin B6 is important for several bodily functions including blood sugar regulation and the formation of hemoglobin, a molecule that carries oxygen in red blood cells. Pistachios are also rich in potassium, with 1 oz containing more potassium than half of a banana.

2 High in antioxidants

Antioxidants are molecules that help prevent cell damage and play a key role in reducing the risk of certain health conditions, such as cancer. Pistachios are a great source of antioxidants. They may also contain a higher amount than other varieties of nuts and seeds, according to some older studies. Pistachios are especially rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, two important antioxidants for eye health. These compounds help protect your eyes from damage caused by blue light and age-related macular degeneration, a condition in which your central vision is impaired or lost. They’re also rich in polyphenols and tocopherols, two types of antioxidants that may help protect against cancer and heart disease.

3 Low in calories yet high in protein

While nuts have many health benefits, they’re typically high in calories. If you’re managing your calorie intake, this could make it more difficult to fit them into your diet.  However, pistachios are among the lowest-calorie nuts. Each oz (28 g) of pistachios contains 159 calories, compared with 185 calories in walnuts and 196 calories in pecans. Protein also comprises about 14% of their calorie content, making pistachios second only to almonds when it comes to protein content. Plus, pistachios are rich in essential amino acids, which must be obtained through diet because your body cannot produce them.

4 May aid weight loss

Despite being an energy-dense food, pistachios are a great weight-loss-friendly food. Pistachios are rich in fiber and protein, both of which may contribute to weight loss by increasing feelings of fullness and helping you eat less. A 2020 review of 11 studies found that regular consumption of pistachios may be linked to a reduction in body mass index (BMI), which is used to estimate body fat. However, pistachios were not associated with changes in body weight or belly fat. A 2020 study also found that participants who ate pistachios experienced reductions in blood pressure, ate fewer sweets, and increased their fiber intake, all factors that may contribute to weight loss.  Another factor possibly contributing to pistachios’ weight loss properties is that their fat content might not be fully absorbed. Part of their fat content may be stuck within their cell walls, preventing it from being digested in the gut.  Lastly, in-shell pistachios may be good for mindful eating, as shelling the nuts takes time and slows the eating rate. A 2011 study found that individuals who ate in-shell pistachios consumed 41% fewer calories than those who ate shelled pistachios.

5 Promote healthy gut bacteria

Pistachios are high in fiber, with one serving containing 3 g. Fiber moves through your digestive system mostly undigested, and some types of fiber are digested by the good bacteria in your gut, acting as prebiotics. Gut bacteria then ferment the fiber and convert it into short-chain fatty acids, which may have several health benefits, including a reduced risk of developing digestive disorders, cancer, and heart disease. Butyrate is perhaps the most beneficial of these short-chain fatty acids.  In one 2014 study, eating pistachios increased the number of butyrate-producing bacteria in the gut to a greater extent than eating almonds.

6 May lower cholesterol and blood pressure

Pistachios may reduce your risk of heart disease in various ways. For instance, they could help lower blood cholesterol and improve blood pressure. Many studies on pistachios and blood lipids involve replacing part of the calories in a diet with pistachios. Up to 67% of the studies in a 2016 review found reductions in total and LDL (bad) cholesterol and increases in HDL (good) cholesterol. Meanwhile, none of these studies observed that eating pistachios harmed the blood lipid profile. Pistachios may also lower blood pressure more than other nuts. A 2015 review of 21 studies found that eating pistachios reduced systolic blood pressure by 1.82 millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and decreased diastolic blood pressure by 0.8 mmHg.

7 May promote blood vessel health

The endothelium is the inner lining of blood vessels. It’s important that it works properly, as endothelial dysfunction is a risk factor for heart disease. Vasodilation is the widening or dilating of blood vessels. Endothelial dysfunction is characterized by reduced vasodilation, which leads to decreased blood flow and increased blood pressure. Nitric oxide is a compound that plays an important role in vasodilation. It causes blood vessels to dilate by signaling the smooth cells in the endothelium to relax. Like most nuts, pistachios are a source of the amino acid L-arginine, which is converted into nitric oxide in the body. Therefore, these tiny nuts may play an important role in promoting blood vessel health. A 2014 study in 42 people who consumed 1.5 oz (40 g) of pistachios a day for 3 months showed improvements in markers of endothelial function and vascular stiffness. Proper blood flow is important for many bodily functions, including erectile function. In a 2019 study, regular consumption of nuts, including pistachios, was associated with improvements in sexual desire and orgasmic function in males.

8 May help lower blood sugar

Despite having a higher carb content than most nuts, pistachios have a low glycemic index. This means they don’t cause large blood sugar spikes. Research suggests that eating pistachios may help promote blood sugar regulation.  A 2020 review of six studies concluded that pistachios could significantly reduce fasting blood sugar and improve insulin resistance in people with type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, or metabolic syndrome. A 2024 study also found that eating 57 g of pistachios after dinner may be a good nighttime snack for people with prediabetes. Eating pistachios between dinner and bedtime had similar effects on glycemic, lipid, and blood glucose levels as traditional care.  Pistachio nuts are also rich in antioxidants, carotenoids, and phenolic compounds, all of which are beneficial for blood sugar regulation.

9 Delicious and fun to eat

Pistachios can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, such as:

on their own as a convenient, tasty snack

a garnish on pizzas, salads, fish, and desserts

in baking, such as in cheesecakes

in pesto or nut butters.

Influence and persuasion expert Chase Hughes told Joe Rogan on episode #2278 of The Joe Rogan Experience that he bets “his career” on the COVID response being a full-blown psyop.

JOE ROGAN: “Do you think that someone sat in a room and that people discussed the best ways to get people to comply?”

CHASE HUGHES: “Yes. Oh, yes. I would bet my career because it was executed following textbook protocol.”

Hughes explained that the key sign of a psyop is “if the opinion that’s coming out needs people to be silenced.”

“So if you can’t question it—if you’re supposed to just go along, it’s a psyop,” Hughes reiterated.

During COVID, terms like “disinformation” and “misinformation” flooded the airwaves, but those terms were often weaponized to discredit voices and opinions the government didn’t like.

Doctors like Jay Bhattacharya and Martin Kulldorff, respected scientists at Stanford and Harvard, were silenced simply for challenging lockdowns through the Great Barrington Declaration.

“And it was openly discussed in emails,” Rogan pointed out.

“That’s what’s really crazy. They talked about the strategy of silencing these people, and then you had the actual government itself contacting Twitter, trying to get people removed, which is wild.”

They even went as far as to write headlines like “Mocking anti-vaxxers’ COVID deaths is ghoulish, yes — but may be necessary” (LA Times).

“My hope is that people have learned from this past four years and that this is an eye-opener,” Rogan said.

BOMBSHELL: Pentagon Officials Caught Using Taxpayer-Funded Credit Cards at Casinos, Bars, and Clubs

    By Collin Campbell

    @ProjectConstitu

    | February 25, 2025

BOMBSHELL REPORT: Pentagon Officials Caught Using Taxpayer-Funded Credit Cards at Casinos, Bars, and Nightclubs Totaling $1.3 BILLION

Washington, D.C. – A scathing new audit from the Department of Defense Inspector General (DODIG) has blown the lid off a jaw-dropping scandal: Pentagon officials have been using taxpayer-funded credit cards to bankroll gambling sprees, bar tabs, and late-night parties at nightclubs. While Americans scrape by amid soaring costs, the brass at the DoD have been living large—on your dime.

    Taxpayer Money Down the Drain

The audit zeroes in on the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) program, designed to cover official travel expenses for DoD personnel. Instead, it’s become a slush fund for reckless spending:

    • $387,642.66 blown at casinos and mobile app stores—think slot machines and Candy Crush, courtesy of taxpayers.
    • $112,484.69 racked up at bars, lounges, and nightclubs, with spikes during holidays and big games like the Super Bowl.
    • A staggering 3.9 million transactions worth $1.2 BILLION left unchecked because no one bothered to look.

This isn’t pocket change—it’s a full-on heist of public funds.

    Oversight? What Oversight?

The Pentagon had a fancy tool, the Visa IntelliLink Compliance Management (VICM) system, meant to catch shady charges. But here’s the kicker:

    • The Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) ignored red flags, letting high-risk spending slide without a peep.
    • Hundreds of Program Coordinators—supposed to keep this in check—couldn’t even be bothered to log in.
    • Rules to spot fraud? Outdated and ignored, leaving the door wide open for abusers to keep swiping.

It’s like handing out free credit cards at a Vegas buffet and telling no one to watch the tab.

    Déjà Vu All Over Again

This isn’t even new. Back in 2015, a similar audit caught DoD cardholders dropping cash at casinos and strip clubs. Promises were made, heads nodded—but nothing changed. A decade later, the party’s still going, and taxpayers are still footing the bill.

    Your Money, Their Playground

Picture this: You’re juggling bills while some Pentagon hotshot pulls cash from a casino ATM or buys rounds at a nightclub—all charged to Uncle Sam. Meanwhile, the DoD begs Congress for more funding, claiming it’s strapped for cash to defend the nation. The audit says $1.2 billion in transactions went unscrutinized. That’s not a glitch—that’s a grift.

Where’s DOGE When You Need It?

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), hyped as the cure for government waste, is our best shot to slam the brakes on this nonsense. We need Elon Musk’s DOGE to put an end to this once and for all—starting with this $1.2 billion mess. Taxpayers can’t wait any longer for the cleanup to begin.

    No One’s Paying the Price

Here’s the part that’ll make your blood boil: despite this damning evidence, not one official has been fired, fined, or even scolded. Zero accountability for millions squandered. The Pentagon’s silence is deafening, and taxpayers are left holding an empty wallet.

    Time to Fight Back

This is YOUR money—hard-earned, taxed, and torched on blackjack tables and bar tabs. The Pentagon owes you answers, and Congress needs to ditch the blank checks. Demand a full investigation. Call out the waste.

TAKE ACTION NOW: Repost This To

    @elonmusk

    and

    @DOGE

and Flood your representatives’ inboxes and voicemails. Tell them you won’t stand for bureaucrats partying while you pay. This scandal’s a wake-up call—let’s make sure they hear it loud and clear.

  7. Arizona Governor Signs Order ‘To Combat the Cartels’ and ‘Stop Drug Smuggling’

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) has signed an order “to combat the cartels, stop drug smuggling, and secure Arizona’s border,” the governor said in a Tuesday news release. The executive order requires a joint task force named “Operation Desert Guardian” to be set up by the Grand Canyon State’s Department of Public Safety, Department of Homeland Security and Department of Emergency and Military Affairs “focused on the identification, deterrence, interdiction, and dismantling of” transnational criminal organizations.

The Arizona Department of Homeland Security is also required to bring together the task force “and ensure a coordinated, collaborative strategy with state agencies as well as county sheriffs, local law enforcement agencies, and federal law enforcement agencies who join” it.

“I’m proud to launch Operation Desert Guardian to combat the cartels, stop drug smuggling and human trafficking, and secure Arizona’s border,” Hobbs said in the release. “My administration has been in contact with the federal government and local sheriffs about the Operation, its critical objectives, and our shared commitment to keeping criminals and drugs out of Arizona’s communities.” – The Hill

  8. EXCERPT: “To call Ohio a locked-in party town for the GOP would be something of an understatement. Unlike the rest of the Rust Belt, Ohio has slowly come under firm, if not unbreakable, Republican control.

From 1991 to 2025, Ohio has only seen a single Democrat win a single term as governor (and only after a very bizarre scandal involving public money invested in a gold coin scam). The last 14 years have featured the final, slow bleedout of Democrats from any element of public control. There is not a single statewide partisan office with a Democrat incumbent. Both the House and Senate have GOP supermajorities. The state Supreme Court is 6-1 in favor of the GOP. When Mike DeWine won reelection in 2022, he did so by 25-plus points and didn’t even bother to debate his Democrat opponent.

There is plenty of reason to openly question what benefit this level of control has had for Ohioans. The strategic use of this power has been limited by a local GOP riven by infighting and factionalism and a popular but firmly centrist governor unwilling to pick decisive fights in the twilight of his political career. One would expect substantive critiques and a new vision as the race begins to replace the term-limited DeWine as the GOP nominee. Yet, when I tuned in to watch Vivek Ramaswamy’s long-awaited announcement of his run for governor, I was struck by how little substance he offered.

After a lovely Ohio civics lesson on our industrial age greatness, Vivek launched into the techno futurist vision for Ohio’s industrial redevelopment that is familiar to anyone who has paid attention to local economic fortunes. The Intel semiconductor fabrication facility in Franklin County has long been at the root of a sparkling promised future for the whole state and has led to a considerable sum of federal funding for major infrastructure, from rail expansions to new interstate bridges.

Yet the rest of Vivek’s speech seemed to be absent any knowledge of anything the state has done to realize this future. He treated the GOP dominance of Ohio with a wave of the hand and the phrase, “Some things have been moving in the right direction,” before launching into a list of campaign promises centered on one idea: making Ohio “the new Silicon Valley.”

In the run-up to this announcement, Vivek has treated Ohio like a failed state in need of his expert ministrations to “save.” His announcement featured ruminations about work ethic, paired with repeated promises to turn Ohio into the Santa Clara of the Midwest. His constant fetishization of Silicon Valley betrays his belief that it is an aspirational end goal, rather than a potential cautionary tale of a community riven by such cost-of-living issues that the people who work there can’t afford to live there…..”

  9. “IRS Contractor Leaked Information Of 405,000 Taxpayers — But We’re Supposed To Be Concerned About DOGE?”

The Federalist, By: Brianna Lyman, February 25, 2025

    Elon Musk speaks at CPAC

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “A new letter released by the House Judiciary Committee reveals that under the Biden administration, an IRS contractor leaked the tax information of 405,427 taxpayers to news sources — including that of President Donald Trump. Yet Americans are supposed to be concerned about DOGE?

For weeks Democrats have cried wolf over Elon Musk and DOGE supposedly plotting a “hostile takeover of the Treasury Department” and putting sensitive taxpayer information at risk. Democrats feigned outrage that DOGE would have “access to the management and disbursement of trillions of dollars and the highly sensitive information of millions of Americans.” They even held a press conference attacking DOGE for being granted read-only access to the Treasury Department’s payment system.

Unsurprisingly, the left-wing press has echoed these faux concerns. “Elon Musk’s DOGE presence at the IRS raises concerns about taxpayer data security, refund delays,” CBS News’ Aimee Picchi wrote. The Washington Post’s Jacob Bogage and Jeff Stein wrote that “Musk’s DOGE seeks access to personal taxpayer data, raising alarm at IRS.”

But for all the “concern” and “alarm” ringing going on, it seems Americans have more reason to be concerned with employees of the Treasury Department than a billionaire who legitimately doesn’t need or want taxpayer information.

According to a letter that Department of the Treasury Acting Commissioner Douglas W. O’Donnell sent to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan on Feb. 14, Charles Littlejohn “inappropriately accessed or leaked” the information of 405,427 taxpayers, 89 percent of whom are “business entities.”

Littlejohn had previously been charged in 2023 for allegedly disclosing tax return information to two news organizations that were not explicitly listed. This taxpayer information was leaked to ProPublica, which used the data “to report its ‘Secret IRS Files’ series,” according to ProPublica.

“The vast dataset contained details on thousands of wealthy Americans, and ProPublica reported dozens of stories based on an analysis of it,” ProPublica said. ProPublica’s Editor-in-Chief Stephen Engelberg denied knowing the identity of the source when charges were made public.

A second leak by Littlejohn that included information regarding a “high-ranking government official” “appears to match The New York Times’ reporting on the taxes of Donald Trump,” ProPublica reported.

But Musk and DOGE are the real concerns?”

  11. “BREAKING: Republicans Clear Budget Resolution Hurdle on Largely Party-Line Vote”

Red State, By Jennifer Oliver O’Connell | 8:20 PM on February 25, 2025

    AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “President Donald J. Trump’s big, beautiful bill just mounted its first hurdle. Tuesday evening, the Congressional Budget Resolution (H. Con. Res. 14) establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034 passed on a largely party-line vote of 217 to 215.

According to Punchbowl News, the budget resolution with $4.5 trillion for tax cuts and $1.5 trillion-plus in spending cuts was satisfactory to President Trump. There were several holdouts earlier in the evening, including Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN), and Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH). Because of this, the vote was suspended at first. Once House Speaker Mike Johnson and President Trump whipped them to convert their votes to YES, the vote was re-upped, with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) being the sole Republican to vote NO.

“in my 15+ years covering congress, i’ve never seen the leadership cancel a vote, send lawmakers home and then abruptly switch course and put the vote up. all within the course of about 10 minutes.”

    https://x.com/JakeSherman/status/1894550696478818531

On Friday, the Republican majority in the Senate passed their own budget resolution in two parts, the antithesis to what the House just approved.

The Senate passed its budget resolution early on Friday, which acts as a framework to implement President Trump’s legislative agenda. It would provide $175 billion for border security and $150 billion in military funding.

The Senate’s adoption is an early step in the process, which requires detailed work by committees to work out the details of spending, as well as of any offsets to help pay for the additional funds.

The budget resolution is at odds with the House’s approach, and both chambers ultimately have to be on the same page to get the legislation across the finish line.

Despite the competing pair of bills from the Republican-controlled Senate, it appears that the path forward for the GOP is the House bill, which is what President Donald Trump called for initially. However, the Senate plan now effectively serves as a backup if the two chambers can’t come together on a reconciliation bill.”

Exterior of Pontiac home where three Oakland County children were abandoned by their mother and left to live alone for years before deputies were called to do a welfare check on the house on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025. (WDIV)

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Three children were left to live alone in a Pontiac home for years after allegedly being abandoned by their mother, and during that time, only one child ever stepped outside.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Feb. 18, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said detectives believe that the three kids, a 15-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl, were abandoned by their 34-year-old mother sometime in 2020.

While living alone, the boy was the only child to go outside the home, and he only ever did twice, according to Bouchard. He told authorities that one time he left the home to “touch the grass” and then he left another time to check the mail.

While being abandoned the children were surviving off of weekly food drop-offs from their mother and delivery companies, like Instacart and DoorDash, and didn’t attend school.

More — Sheriff: How nobody knew 3 abandoned kids were living alone in Oakland County for years

The Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald is reviewing the case, which allegedly includes “several gigabytes of evidence,” according to a release from the prosecutor’s office.

“The conditions these children were living in were unspeakably horrific,” McDonald said in a release in response to the allegations in the police report. “Right now, this case is a top priority. Our team is urgently working to process the evidence and make charging decisions. While it is important to move quickly, we must also be thorough to fully understand what happened in that house and ensure justice is done for these three children.”What we know after 3 kids abandoned by mother

Deputies performed a welfare check at the home in the 600 block of Lydia Lane in the afternoon on Friday, Feb. 14, after the landlord called them. The landlord told them he hadn’t heard from the mother since December, and rent hadn’t been paid since October. He was concerned that something could have happened.

When they arrived, they found the home in deplorable condition. Garbage was piled as high as four feet in some areas and mold and human waste were found throughout the home. The toilet was overflowing and they found feces in the bathtub, according to the sheriff’s office. The children were found wearing soiled clothing. Their hair was matted and their nails were several inches long.

Neighbors told authorities they never saw the children outside the house, but would see the mother drop things off. After their 34-year-old mother was arrested, the three children were put into the custody of a relative by Child Protective Services.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case.

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The old antiquated system of paper documents is being dismantled and replaced with Artificial Intelligence. And millions of MAGA fans are celebrating this without even considering the replacement. Which will be digital.

Blockchain technology, which appeared mysteriously in the Bitcoin white paper, is well suited for tagging and tracing every living person on the planet, and every transaction we make. In the current system, a birth certificate of title is registered for every child born. This has provided a paper record with minimal information. But with bio-metric data, the new system is capable of assigning a digital ID to every living man, woman, and child born. Locked into the blockchain from day one, every person’s carbon footprint can be monitored, their compliance measuredand their overall value to the system can be calculated in real time.

Blockchain is an immutable, time-stamped record of every interaction and exchange. And it’s not just individuals who will have a digital ID. Every business, every product, and everything we interact with will have a digital ID. This is called, tokenization. And it’s happening right now.

From the perspective of control, it is the most effective method of controlling human behavior that the world has ever known. And while many argue that the Blockchain is not capable of doing all this, the problem has already been solved. It’s called Hashgraph, and it appears to be ready for deployment.

Hashgraph is exponentially more efficient than Blockchain, able to handle hundreds of thousands of transactions per second, it uses practically zero energy. It is the perfect digital branding iron for human chattel in the new AI digital control grid. Hedera, the company behind the Hashgraph system, is already partnered and connected with major corporations and governments.

The Institute of International Finance has tapped Hedera as the only Layer-1 tech to explore blockchain solutions for tokenized financial assets. And this is how the carbon tax will be calculated.

It was too politically difficult for Elon to introduce a carbon tax under president Biden, because the MAGA cult would have resisted it. But they have become cheerleaders for the new system and all things Elon. So now, the gates are wide open.

Democratic party member, Maxine Waters, recently introduced bipartisan Stablecoin legislation. This aligns with what the Trump administration has been proposing and is expected to be passed into law without any pushback. This will create a digital dollar backed by US Treasury bills and other debt instruments.

But the United States has been bankrupt for decades, and a complete financial crash is imminent. Once the dollar dies, the already legally accepted Stablecoins will then be pegged to Bitcoin. And the new digital system will be the savior. It will be celebrated for saving us from a depression, securing our borders, and protecting the children. And the carbon tax will begin.”

  17. “Is Accountability a Four-Letter Word for Bureaucrats? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity – Expose the fraud, expose the illegality, expose the truth!”

Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), Feb 25, 2025

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Elon Musk and the Office of Personnel Management (‘OPM”) really have touched a nerve. How dare they ask federal workers to report on what they do! These public servants are used to making the American People dance their tune; how dare OPM make them report to the President of the United States. Looks like “accountability” is the dirtiest word in the lexicon of the federal workforce. Let’s briefly review what set off this particular firestorm, and then, I want to offer my suggestion for how to begin Round Two.

    Accountability: Round One

At 2:46 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Elon Musk posted on X:

Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.

Later in the day, this email was sent from OPM to employees:

Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager. Please do not send any classified information, links, or attachments. Deadline was this past Monday at 11:59 pm EST.

    Accountability Resisted

Watching CNN and MSNBC coverage of this story, my personal favorite response from several federal workers was that these emails were “disrespectful.” Imagine that accountability within the federal workforce is so unusual that it is seen as “disrespectful.”

Congressional reaction was intense, including lame-duck U.S. Senator Tina Smith (D-MN). This former Planned Parenthood official showed multiple obsessions as she posted on X:

This is the ultimate dick boss move from Musk – except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a dick. I bet a lot of people have had an experience like this with a bad boss – there’s an email in your inbox on Saturday night saying, “Prove to me your worthiness by Monday or else.” I’m on the side of the workers, not the billionaire asshole bosses.

So much for elevating the discourse. The lines are now firmly drawn between those who feel entitled to a government job, and the rest of Americans who feel abused by being forced to pay for so many entitled bureaucrats.

So they filed suit. Of course they did. On Sunday, the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO filed an amended complaint in an existing case in federal court in San Francisco (where better?) arguing that the threat of mass firings “one of the most massive employment frauds in the history of this country.”

    The Genius Behind the Strategy

President Trump responded Monday revealing perhaps the main reason for these emails:

We have people that don’t show up to work and nobody even knows if they work for the government so by asking the question ‘tell us what you did this week,’ what he’s doing is saying are you actually working. And then, if you don’t answer, like, you’re sort of semi-fired or you’re fired … a lot of people are not answering because they don’t even exist. [Emphasis added.]

So there really is a touch of genius in this strategy — as it will expose employees who may have died, or moved to another country, or never even existed. But for those employees who do exist, I have yet another strategy to propose. I wrote about this last month, and I want to bring that idea back today.

    Accountability: Round Two

I suggest that each agency head borrow a technique from the Honorable James R. Schlesinger — a Ph.D. economist who served in both Republican and Democrat Administrations. He too demonstrated a touch of genius. He reasoned, if you want to find out if there has been illegal activity going on — ask the bureaucrats — which is exactly what he did at the CIA, providing fascinating bit of forgotten history.

James Schlesinger served as Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, CIA Director, Secretary of Defense, and Secretary of Energy. His tenure at the CIA was brief, only five months — from February 2, 1973 to July 2, 1973 — at which time he was moved on to be Secretary of Defense. However, during that brief time at the CIA, he faced the challenge of running an agency that had been badly politicalized, much like now.

George Washington University’s National Security Archive explains that upon arriving at the CIA, Schlesinger learned that “Watergate burglars E. Howard Hunt and James McCord (both veteran CIA officers) had cooperation from the Agency as they carried out ‘dirty tricks’ for President Nixon.” In response, on May 9, 1973, Director Schlesinger issued a directive which ordered:

all senior operating officials … to report to me immediately on any activities now going on, or that have gone on in the past, which might be construed to be outside the legislative charter of this Agency…. Anyone who has such information should call my secretary … and say that he wishes to talk to me about ‘activities outside CIA’s charter.’ [Emphasis added.]

All of these employees had taken an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” and Schlesinger believed that it was entirely reasonable to ask those employees to help clean up the Agency by reporting to him about violations of the law. And the directive went even further to address future activities as well, ordering:

Any CIA employee who believes that he has received instructions which in any way appear inconsistent with the CIA legislative charter shall inform the Director of Central Intelligence immediately. [Emphasis added.]

By any standard, this was a man who was serious about his responsibilities. He took a “hands on” approach within his Agency. He directed employees to report on past activities. He offered to meet with every person with knowledge of violations of the CIA’s charter. He ordered employees to report on questionable activities. And, he provided a means for those employees to air their concerns at the highest level — with him personally.

The Schlesinger Directive” eventually led to the collection of much information of wrongdoing and the collection of documents detailing illegal CIA activities. Many of these documents which were later released by the CIA, are now posted on a CIA website: “Widely known as the ‘Family Jewels,’ this document consists of almost 700 pages of responses from CIA employees to a 1973 directive from Director of Central Intelligence James Schlesinger….” (Emphasis added.)

    Applying the Schlesinger Directive

If there is a better strategy to find out quickly about illegal activities in the federal workforce under Biden-Harris, I don’t know what it is. The Trump Administration doesn’t need to re-invent the wheel here. Director Schlesinger paved the way, but the strategy he developed need not be limited to the CIA.

I would only suggest two modifications to The Schlesinger Directive. First, I would not make reporting voluntary, but would require each senior appointee to file a report detailing any knowledge of potentially illegal activities. Second, I would mandate that the report be filed under oath. If there are those who would prefer to hide illegal activities, I suspect the country could get along very nicely without them.

Would this trigger litigation? Of course. Everything triggers a lawsuit by the left. These suits are being cataloged here. But litigation is no reason to stop. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Expose the fraud. Expose the illegality. Expose the truth.”

      1. I can only imagine how much worse it is now….that’s why I refused to enter that job market when I ETS’d. I much preferred the civilian companies – actually, you have more flexibility in those companies than the government. At least, that was the case then.

  18. EXCERPT: “Billionaire Jeff Bezos announced on Wednesday morning that major changes are coming to The Washington Post. Long known as one of the most biased, left-wing news outlets in the country, the paper’s editorial page is going to be completely revamped, and liberals are apoplectic about it.

According to Bezos, who owns the Post, instead of being a hotbed of progressive excess, editorials will now center on free markets and personal freedoms.

BEZOS: I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages.

We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.

There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job.

I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.

I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment —  I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction.

I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void.

Notably, those two topics are not partisan in nature, which begs the question of why left-wingers are rushing to cancel their subscriptions after the announcement. Phillip Bump, who writes for the Post, simply posted, “What the actual f***.”  So yeah, he’s probably not keeping his job under the editorial board’s new direction…..”

BREAKING: HHS Secretary @RobertKennedyJr just HALTED Biden’s reckless $240M taxpayer-funded deal for an experimental oral COVID vaccine—just DAYS before 10,000 people were set to be dosed in clinical trials.

Finally, accountability is back at HHS!

    1. EXCERPT: “Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. put the brakes on a multi-million contract with the American biotech company Vaxart to create a new COVID-19 vaccine, Fox News Digital reported.

Kennedy on Feb. 21 issued a 90-day stop-work order on the contract until HHS determines whether it is “prudent and safe” to continue. The order came just as the next phase of the company’s clinical trial, involving 10,000 participants, was set to start on Monday.

In this phase of the trial, the company is planning to test the efficacy of its vaccine against existing mRNA vaccines, bypassing a placebo-controlled assessment.

“While it is crucial that the Department [of] Health and Human Services (HHS) support pandemic preparedness, four years of the Biden administration’s failed oversight have made it necessary to review agreements for vaccine production, including Vaxart’s,” Kennedy told Fox News Digital.

“I look forward to working with Vaxart and medical experts to ensure this work produces safe, effective, and fiscal-minded vaccine technology,” he said….”

  20. Hmmmm….I wonder if the child was a recently arrived “immigrant?”

EXCERPT: “Texas health authorities today announced the death of a child who tested positive for measles, setting off a spate of media reports blaming the measles outbreaks in Texas in New Mexico on declining vaccination rates. Some doctors and scientists pushed back, saying too little information about the child’s health has been released so far to assume that a measles vaccine would have prevented the death.

The Texas Department of State Health Services (Texas DSHS) reported what it called “the first death from measles in the ongoing outbreak in the South Plains and Panhandle regions.” The health department said the child was “school-aged,” unvaccinated, had been hospitalized in Lubbock last week and “tested positive for measles.”

Texas DSHS did not disclose the child’s sex, age, general health status or medical history. The agency also did not say what course of treatment the child received after being diagnosed with measles, or what strain of measles the child had.

The Associated Press (AP), under the headline, “An unvaccinated child has died in the Texas measles outbreak,” reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed the child’s death is the first measles death in the U.S. since 2015. Other media outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, reposted the AP’s report, which noted that vaccination rates have declined since the COVID-19 pandemic and most states are now below “the level needed to protect communities against measles outbreaks.”

But Brian Hooker, Ph.D., Children’s Health Defense (CHD) chief scientific officer, said it’s too early to assume that the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, which targets measles, would have prevented the child’s death. “It is very easy and almost by design that we would jump to the conclusion that the vaccine would have saved this child. But we have no real information at this point.”

For instance, a medical doctor in the Lubbock, Texas area told The Defender he received a text message that suggested the child may have died from pneumonia, which can be a complication from measles. However, that information has yet to be formally released and confirmed.

An additional text message received by the same medical doctor revealed the medical staff in the child’s area were instructed to give the MMR vaccine to children who were already infected with measles — even though Merck, maker of the most common MMR vaccine, states the vaccine should not be given to anyone experiencing a moderate to high fever, one of the most common symptoms of measles.

It has yet to be confirmed that the child who was reported unvaccinated against measles was not given an MMR vaccine as an acute treatment for the child’s measles infection…..”
