Today’s offering is Parmesan Garlic Knots! I tried these 2 few weeks ago and hubby loved them! Since there’s just 2 of us, next time I will use a 4-count tube of biscuits instead of the 8-count and cut the remaining ingredients in half.

Ingredients
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan
¾ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
¼ teaspoon salt
1 (16-ounce) tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly oil a baking sheet or coat with nonstick spray.
In a small bowl, whisk together butter, Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, parsley and salt; set aside.
Halve each of the 8 biscuits, making 16 pieces. Roll each piece into a 5-inch rope, about 1/2-inch thick, and tie into a knot, tucking the ends.
Place knots onto the prepared baking sheet and brush each knot with half of the butter mixture. Place into oven and bake until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
Serve immediately, brushed with remaining butter mixture.
ENJOY!
sounds good

Good Morning, Pat and Filly!
That looks like a very versatile recipe – I’ll probably buy some refrigerated pizza dough at the Publix bakery and use that, since I love yeast rolls.
Weather here will dip below freezing several days this weekend and into the next week, culminating on Thursday with a low of 29 and a high of 49 on Friday.
Things have been going pretty smoothly with Sally Q – she is holding steady at 2 moderate level pain pills a day and no afib attacks this week. The new nurse is much better.
We are on a one day at a time – do the best we can as it comes kind of arrangement. Hospice personnel can’t schedule their visits on a regular basis because of their heavy case load and uncertainty of how patients’ needs will change. I can’t figure out how to schedule an overnight or two trip home yet, since every time I go home, things go haywire with Sally.

Morning GA!
I found a recipe to make Pizza Hut breadsticks but the dough is a raised one and makes two dozen i think. Swapping out pizza dough is a wonderful idea! I might try that. (since clearly 24 is too much for us!)
Maybe Sally is having anxiety attacks when you’re gone? Maybe she’s scared and doesn’t know that’s what she’s feeling? Some people push you away when what they really want and need is for you to be there with them. not necessarily doing anything–just with them. just a thought.
I hope you can find time to recharge your own batteries!! you give and give. you need to replenish yourself to be able to give some more.

Good point about the way things go with Sally when I’m not here. Her Dad also panics and magnifies everything.
I’m not going to try to coordinate with Hospice visits because they are unpredictable – they have to triage their calls and schedule every day.
Her Dad will be here and can let them into her apartment.
I’m tentatively planning to make a 1 or 2 night trip home Mon am after Sabrina the aide gets here – if Sally is as stable as she is now.

good for you! you need to unwind too.
when my Dad was bed ridden my mom was so reluctant to leave his side for even a moment, but we told her to nap and eat and enjoy a bath. she was running herself on empty. we finally convinced her that she needed a break. their insurance provided home nursing care one or two days a week and she finally took advantage of it. she didn’t go anywhere but she did “get away” and took a long bath, talked on the phone without being anxious all the while, even doing the laundry because she wasn’t constantly running into the room to see if Dad needed anything. she was a better care giver because she had some respite.

I sent her a case (18) Russell Stover marshmallow hearts for Valentine’s Day. i sent them now because a) i know she LOVES them and b) Dad bought her those every year for Valentine’s Day. If i wait to see if walmart has them, because we go every other week, I might miss them. the Christmas ones went soo fast!
she called yesterday to say thank you and said she ate one as soon as she opened them up…LOL

interesting. There was an article about the maggot instituting a ban on off shore oil drilling permanently at American Thinker and how it might muck up PDJT’s desire to unban it.
in the comments someone suggested if it’s that simple than PDJT can simply ban ALL off shore wind farms. could be interesting. since no future president could undo that either.

I don’t believe there is no way to “unban” something any President did if Congress desires to do so. Things can always be changed one way or another.

Just The News: “President-elect Donald Trump tapped another Fox News contributor for a prominent position in his next term, selecting conservative radio host Tammy Bruce as the next State Department spokesperson.
Trump previously nominated former Fox News hosts Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary and Sean Duffy for Transportation Secretary.
Bruce, who received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California, is expected to work for Trump’s Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio if he’s confirmed by the Senate.
“Tammy is a highly respected political analyst who understood the power and importance of ‘MAGA’ early on,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “After being a liberal activist in the 1990s, [Bruce] saw the lies and fraud of the Radical Left, and quickly became one of the strongest Conservative voices on Radio and Television.
“As one of the longest serving News Contributors, Tammy has brought TRUTH to the American People for over two decades,” he continued. “I know she will bring that same strength of conviction and fearless spirit to her new position as State Department Spokesperson.”

Just The News: “The House of Representatives on Friday passed a rules package for the 119th Congress, which makes it more difficult for them to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson by extending the member threshold necessary to trigger a floor vote.
The rules package was unveiled on Wednesday, and now requires nine GOP members to back a motion to vacate that would force a vote on ousting the speaker. It also slightly alters the names of two House committees, allows committees to adopt rules on electronic voting, and lines up votes on 12 Republican bills, Politico reported.
The package, which needed a simple majority to pass, was approved in a 215-209 vote.
Democrats have slammed the package, claiming that the new rules also make it impossible for Democrats to introduce a motion to vacate and oust the speaker. “Instead of electing a Speaker of the House, they have decided to elect a Speaker of the Republican Conference — held hostage by their most extreme members,” House Rules Committee ranking member Jim McGovern said in a statement reported by Axios.
The package also eliminated the House’s controversial Diversity and Inclusion office, and a new provision now restricts the House from holding suspension votes after Wednesdays in order to give members 72 hours to review legislation.”

“The U.S. Department of Re-education: There’s Nothing Organic About the American Hive Mind”
Erik Carlson, Jan 04, 2025
EXCERPT: “Let me confess, I didn’t know a lot about what I’m about to share before I made the decision to write on this topic. I thought it was a pretty clever title that I came up with, and now I had to write an article to support the title.
I suppose prior to doing a little research, I could have held a five-minute conversation on the topic with someone at a party. I could have made bold statements like, ‘through our education system, the Cabal controlled government is creating good little robots that will do their jobs without questioning authority. No creativity allowed. No encouragement of free-thinking; just do your job and don’t think.’
Not that any of this is inaccurate, I wouldn’t change a thing, but I just didn’t have a lot of proof to go along with this overwhelming feeling I had.
What I learned in my research wouldn’t make sense to me if I still held the naive belief that the Republicans and Democrats actually oppose each other. Correctly understanding now that the Uniparty, the Neocons, RINOs, and Liberals all work together to push forward the Deep State Cabal’s agenda, I understand that most opposition that is displayed between the parties is akin to professional wrestling Kayfabe—pretending to be at odds with each other when they in fact serve the same masters.
People like Bush Sr, Bush Jr., McCain, Romney, Gingrich and Paul Ryan were never America First, they have always been Cabal first. Before Trump was elected POTUS in 2016, very few politicians in DC were America First. Those who were, were quickly run out of DC. That is starting to change.
Trump wasn’t the first politician to be America First, but he will ultimately be the most successful at making America First.
According to Wikipedia,
To summarize: on his way out the door, Carter established the Department of Education as a cabinet-level position. Reagan vehemently opposed this, calling for its total elimination. As happened too often during his presidency, Reagan compromised, and allowed the Department of Education to exist; he fought the funding, which greatly reduced its influence, but he didn’t eliminate it completely.
Once RINO, Neocon, Deep State puppet George Bush took office in 1989, the Department of Education began to soar. From this point forward, Uniparty Republicans pretended to oppose the Federal Government’s control of local school systems, but in reality, walked in lockstep with the Democrats in financial support of the Department of Education.
The more I learn about Reagan, the more I believe that he was Trump 1.0, or rather that Trump is Reagan 2.0. Trump seems to have learned from Reagan’s mistakes of compromising with the Deep State. In fact, Trump may have made some of those same mistakes in his first presidency, trusting the RINOs and Neocons a little too much…..”

“Winter storm threatens nearly 60 million across 25 states with heavy snow, crippling ice
“The first significant winter storm of the year is endangering a 2,100-mile swath of the country from the Northwest and Plains through the mid-Atlantic and East Coast, bringing a multitude of life-threatening hazards across major metropolitan areas, including heavy snow amid potentially blizzard-like conditions, and crippling ice accretions that could lead to extended power outages.
The storm is working its way through the Northern Rockies and Central Plains Saturday, hours after slamming the West Coast and even spawning the first tornado of the year in California.
Freezing drizzle arrived in Wichita, Kansas during the mid-morning hours, turning roadways into a sheen of ice and giving a preview of the headaches that loom as the storm moves east. “We cannot stress this enough, law enforcement is working many, many accidents across metro Wichita,” NWS Wichita meteorologists pleaded on X. “Please stay home!”
Nearly 60 million residents were placed under winter weather alerts, including Winter Storm Warnings and Ice Storm Warnings, with major impacts expected between Interstates 50 and 70.
NOAA forecasters and the FOX Weather Center said travel will likely be impossible for some communities, as more than a foot of snow will bury some roadways despite efforts to pretreat pavement before the wintry weather. Mixed with wind gusts to 40 mph, blizzard conditions could trigger whiteout conditions that would make some roads impassable with “a high risk of motorists becoming stranded,” according to NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center (WPC).”
South of the heavy band of snow, ice is expected to be problematic and could accumulate to nearly an inch from southern Missouri through Kentucky and into West Virginia. The heavy glaze will likely lead to power outages, and due to the nature of the terrain, outages could last for an extended period.
Arctic air following the wintry weather will keep a large part of the northern tier of the country below freezing for several days, causing additional hardships for those unprepared for the winter wallop.
Greatest Snowfall Event of the Season
Snowfall totals are expected to approach a foot for communities in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio and parts of West Virginia—making this winter blast the most significant event of the season, and for some areas, perhaps the largest snowfall in over a decade, according to the WPC.

Just The News: “President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday called for Judge Juan Merchan to be disbarred after he rejected Trump’s bid to toss out his conviction in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s hush money case.
“The judge should be disbarred!” Trump wrote in a lengthy TRUTH Social post. “This is why people, and companies, are FLEEING New York – A corrupt court system.”
Judge Merchan on Friday rejected Trump’s bid to toss out the conviction in his New York hush money trial. He is expected to be sentenced on Jan. 10.
The judge indicated Friday he was unlikely to impose jail time, and that he intends instead to sentence Trump to an “unconditional discharge.” Trump was convicted last year on 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a 2016 payment his then-attorney, Michael Cohen, made to porn star Stormy Daniels.
“I never falsified business records,” Trump’s post reads. “It is a fake, made up charge by a corrupt judge who is just doing the work of the Biden/Harris Injustice Department, an attack on their political opponent, ME!”
Trump said he hid nothing regarding the documents. “I was hiding nothing, everything was out in the open for all to see. Every legal scholar of note said there IS NO CASE AGAINST ME,” he stated.”

That was what Ron Paul was screaming about. He wanted to audit the Fed and was told NO!
A few years later it comes out that US TAXPAYERS BAILED OUT EU BANKS!
Why Are We Spending $50 Billion to Bail Out Euro Banks? — rollingstone.com
U.S. Bailout Funds Saved European Banks — europeaninstitute.org
Also the EU used the IMF (American taxpayers are AGAIN paying the most) as their personal bank account for the bankruptcies of Ireland, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Iceland (the only country, that I know of, that paid everything they owed back).
Look at the IMF numbers (Millions of SDRs)
United States 82,994.2
China 30,482.9
Germany 26,634.4
United Kingdom 20,155.1 (UK and France pay the exact amount)
France 20,155.1

“Just read this… It’s very interesting! What’s in Fort Bragg? The shadiest military base in the world?”
Strange Sounds, Jan 04, 2025
Fort Liberty, formerly Fort Bragg, is a military installation of the United States Army in North Carolina, and is one of the largest military installations in the world by population, with over 52,000 military personnel.
Fox5 – The suspect involved in a Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump International Hotel has been identified as an active-duty soldier from Colorado Springs. In a press conference Thursday, Las Vegas Metro police identified Matthew Livelsberger as the suspect, but noted challenges in identifying his body, which was “burnt beyond recognition.”
NY Times – Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar appeared to be living a quiet but dutiful life of work and faith amid Houston’s sprawling diversity: a veteran of the U.S. Army who studied information technology, converted to Islam and recently held a six-figure job.
Little in his outward persona suggested someone who could be responsible for what the authorities described as a brutal terrorist attack along one of the most famous streets in the United States on New Year’s Day.
𝕏 – After extensive cell phone, laptop, and vehicle GPS data analysis, going back 4 years, Ryan Wesley Routh visited Fort Bragg 147 times, staying overnight on 29 occasions.
So what’s in Fort Bragg?
The common denominator among all three is Fort Bragg, headquarters of the 4th Psychological Operations Group, which specializes in psychological warfare. Their operations, aimed at shaping perceptions and influencing behavior, are often described as “mind-altering” in a metaphorical sense.
The U.S. Army’s elite Green Berets, based at Fort Bragg, undergo rigorous training that pushes the limits of psychological endurance, survival skills, and unconventional warfare tactics. Their exercises are so intense and realistic that participants often find themselves questioning the boundaries between simulation and reality, a testament to the transformative and mentally taxing nature of their preparation.
Rollingstone – At least 44 Fort Bragg soldiers died stateside in 2020 — several of them were homicides. Families want answers. But the Army isn’t giving any.
Timothy McVeigh – was an American domestic terrorist who masterminded and perpetrated the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995.
While in the Persian Gulf, Tim received orders to go to Fort Bragg for Special Forces training. He left the Gulf, arrived at Fort Bragg and began training with a friend by the name of Specialist Mitchell Whitmire. After 4 or 5 days, he and Specialist Whitmire resigned. Tim took a 30 day leave and visited his sister in Florida and spent time in New York. After the 30 days, he returned to his unit at Fort Riley and continued military life until December 1991.
I’m starting to feel a little more antsy…”

Just The News: “House Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday told the House GOP that President-elect Donald Trump wants a single reconciliation package, pushing back against the two-bill plan that other Republican lawmakers are seeking. Johnson said this during a private meeting on Capitol Hill, sources told Just the News.
Trump referred to the single reconciliation bill as “one big beautiful bill,” according to The Hill. Members of the House Freedom Caucus are pushing for a two-bill plan.
“There are a group of us who support breaking it up into two pieces,” Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., told Fox News during an interview. “The first piece, a very small border piece where we give the president the money that he needs to secure our southern border and start deporting illegal, criminal aliens.”
He said that a two-bill plan would be the fastest way for Trump to get funds for his plans for the southern border. “The president needs some funds now and that’s the quickest way to do it, and that’s the way, again, a group of us think we should do that,” Harris stated. “Saving the large, big, beautiful bill till the summer because it will take time to iron out.”
Jason Smith, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, has been adamant that it should be one bill only, citing the slim margin held by the GOP in the House. “There have not been two reconciliations that have been signed into law in the same year,” Smith said last month. “And why would we think in a majority of 219 to 215 that we would over perform?”
