Happy Columbus Day!

In honor of the day, I found an article on HISTORY.COM detailing 10 things we may not know about Columbus.

From HISTORY.COM:

1 Columbus didn’t set out to prove the earth was round.

Forget those myths perpetuated by everyone from Washington Irving to Bugs Bunny. There was no need for Christopher Columbus to debunk the flat-earthers—the ancient Greeks had already done so. As early as the sixth century B.C., the Greek mathematician Pythagoras surmised the world was round, and two centuries later Aristotle backed him up with astronomical observations. By 1492, most educated people knew the planet was not shaped like a pancake.

2 Columbus was likely not the first European to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

That distinction is generally given to the Norse Viking Leif Eriksson, who is believed to have landed in present-day Newfoundland around 1000 A.D., almost five centuries before Columbus set sail. Some historians even claim that Ireland’s Saint Brendan or other Celtic people crossed the Atlantic before Eriksson. While the United States commemorates Columbus—even though he never set foot on the North American mainland—with parades and a federal holiday, Leif Eriksson Day on October 9 receives little fanfare.

3 Three countries refused to back Columbus’ voyage.

For nearly a decade, Columbus lobbied European monarchies to bankroll his quest to discover a western sea route to Asia. In Portugal, England and France, the response was the same: no. The experts told Columbus his calculations were wrong and that the voyage would take much longer than he thought. Royal advisors in Spain raised similar concerns to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Turns out the naysayers were right. Columbus dramatically underestimated the earth’s circumference and the size of the oceans. Luckily for him, he ran into the uncharted Americas.

4 Nina and Pinta were not the actual names of two of Columbus’ three ships.

In 15th-century Spain, ships were traditionally named after saints. Salty sailors, however, bestowed less-than-sacred nicknames upon their vessels. Mariners dubbed one of the three ships on Columbus’s 1492 voyage the Pinta, Spanish for “the painted one” or “prostitute.” The Santa Clara, meanwhile, was nicknamed the Nina in honor of its owner, Juan Nino. Although the Santa Maria is called by its official name, its nickname was La Gallega, after the province of Galicia in which it was built.

5 The Santa Maria wrecked on Columbus’ historic voyage.

On Christmas Eve of 1492, a cabin boy ran Columbus’s flagship into a coral reef on the northern coast of Hispaniola, near present-day Cap Haitien, Haiti. Its crew spent a very un-merry Christmas salvaging the Santa Maria’s cargo. Columbus returned to Spain aboard the Nina, but he had to leave nearly 40 crew members behind to start the first European settlement in the Americas—La Navidad. When Columbus returned to the settlement in the fall of 1493, none of the crew were found alive.

6 Columbus made four voyages to the New World.

Although best known for his historic 1492 expedition, Columbus returned to the Americas three more times in the following decade. His voyages took him to the Caribbean islands, South America and Central America.

7 Columbus returned to Spain in chains in 1500.

Columbus’s governance of Hispaniola could be brutal and tyrannical. Colonists complained to the monarchy about mismanagement, and a royal commissioner dispatched to Hispaniola arrested Columbus in August 1500 and brought him back to Spain in chains. Although Columbus was stripped of his governorship, King Ferdinand not only granted the explorer his freedom but subsidized a fourth voyage.

8 A lunar eclipse may have saved Columbus.

In February 1504, a desperate Columbus was stranded in Jamaica, abandoned by half his crew and denied food by the islanders. The heavens that he relied on for navigation, however, would guide him safely once again. Knowing from his almanac that a lunar eclipse was coming on February 29, 1504, Columbus warned the islanders that his god was upset with their refusal of food and that the moon would “rise inflamed with wrath” as an expression of divine displeasure. On the appointed night, the eclipse darkened the moon and turned it red, and the terrified islanders offered provisions and beseeched Columbus to ask his god for mercy.

9 Even in death, Columbus continued to cross the Atlantic.

Following his death in 1506, Columbus was buried in Valladolid, Spain, and then moved to Seville. At the request of his daughter-in-law, the bodies of Columbus and his son Diego were shipped across the Atlantic to Hispaniola and interred in a Santo Domingo cathedral. When the French captured the island in 1795, the Spanish dug up remains thought to be those of the explorer and moved them to Cuba before returning them to Seville after the Spanish-American War in 1898.

However, a box with human remains and the explorer’s name was discovered inside the Santo Domingo cathedral in 1877. Did the Spaniards exhume the wrong body? DNA testing in 2006 found evidence that at least some of the remains in Seville are those of Columbus. The Dominican Republic has refused to let the other remains be tested. It could be possible that, aptly, pieces of Columbus are both in the New World and the Old World.

10 Heirs of Columbus and the Spanish monarchy were in litigation until 1790.

After the death of Columbus, his heirs waged a lengthy legal battle with the Spanish crown, claiming that the monarchy short-changed them on money and profits due the explorer. Most of the Columbian lawsuits were settled by 1536, but the legal proceedings nearly dragged on until the 300th anniversary of Columbus’ famous voyage.

i forgot (laughably) that today is now Indigenous People’s Day.
I was lectured on the fact that Columbus only found America because he got lost. some of the best things happen by accident, so I’m not inclined to remove Columbus from the discovery.

  3. thread from the management of the apartment complexes in Aurora CO

    Read on X
Gangs have taken control of several of our properties in Aurora, Colorado.

In an attempt to discredit this fact for political purposes and avoid governmental accountability, some have spread false information about our situation. Let’s set the record straight…🧵
We started managing these buildings when new owners acquired the Colorado properties in 2019. At the time, the properties were in poor condition, and our mission was to renovate them, thereby increasing their value. This was an ambitious project that would significantly benefit the people of Aurora while providing returns to the new owners.

We understood this project would take years to yield results and would be both time-consuming and costly, involving comprehensive upgrades to every unit and the overall structure. To manage the project effectively, given our New York-based operations, our representative moved to Colorado with his family.

We also undertook a complete renovation of nearly every unit in the now well-known building you’ve seen in the news. (The images shown depict our newly renovated apartments.)

Everything was progressing smoothly: property values were rising, and vacancy rates were dropping. It was a win-win for both the owners and the city of Aurora.

    Then, the gangs arrived…
After some time, we noticed a rise in crime and tenant complaints. The most alarming moment occurred when our local CBZ representative was attacked at the end of 2023.

He had gone to inspect a recently vacated three-bedroom apartment (a rare occurrence for such a large unit) only to find a group of men already inside. When he refused their $500 bribe to overlook the situation, they brutally attacked him. (This photo was taken shortly after he escaped, just before being admitted to the hospital. The video footage comes from one of our security cameras, capturing part of the assault.)
After the attack on our CBZ representative, he began getting threatening text messages. We also frequently found people illegally occupying newly vacated apartments during scheduled tours. This was initially attributed to an influx of migrants exploiting squatter laws. We even received a call from a tenant returning from vacation, only to find strangers living in his apartment. This legitimate tenant was forced to find a new home after police couldn’t help him.
When confronted, many of these illegal tenants and squatters claimed they had already paid rent, which we soon realized was true—but not to us. They were paying rent to a different entity.

To address this entity (gangs) we contacted every city official we could think of for help with the problem. Unfortunately, none were willing to take meaningful action.

Meanwhile, our CBZ representative continued receiving threatening messages, in which these criminals revealed his home address and his spouse’s name.

Finally, the APD, FBI and Homeland Security informed us that those sending the messages and controlling our buildings were part of the notorious Tren De Aragua gang from Venezuela. They also mentioned that our situation was just “a blip on the radar,” as this gang is causing significant problems nationwide.

Two days after our FBI meeting, the gang confronted our on-site manager, asserting control over all three properties. They offered an ultimatum: share rental income 50/50 or lose the buildings permanently. They also threatened to harm him and his family.

For the safety of our management team and their families, we withdrew them from the properties and focused on seeking help from government agencies.Image

Once we fully understood what we—and our tenants—were facing, we expected a swift response, with the city offering meaningful resources and police protection—perhaps even from the National Guard—to help us regain control of our properties. That never happened. Instead, we were left helpless, watching as violence, bullets, and destruction overtook our buildings. Many of our legitimate tenants fled out of fear.

Despite the obvious crisis, several city officials refused to acknowledge the reality. Instead, they blamed us, citing “code violations” as the reason for shutting down our property—violations we couldn’t resolve for tenants who weren’t even ours.
Finally, one city councilwoman, @DaniJurinsky, decided to take action after one of our last remaining legitimate tenants, Cindy Romero, reached out to her in desperation.

Luckily, Cindy had her own cameras (most of ours had been destroyed by the gangs) and provided video proof to the councilwoman.

She realized the city could no longer ignore the situation if it was documented on camera.

Once she gathered sufficient video evidence, she assisted the tenant in relocating to safety before publicly releasing the footage.
Despite clear evidence, many still deny the reality of the situation, sometimes using us as scapegoats. That’s why we are no longer staying silent. We will continue to counter falsehoods with simple facts and evidence.

Yes, gangs did take control of our apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, and the government did nothing. That is the real story.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

  4. “Okeechobee police chief still in hiding, now flouting multiple state laws —Okeechobee could see First and Second Amendment fight.”

    Lee Williams, Oct 14, 2024

(Photo illustration from licensed Shutterstock account).

EXCERPT: “In Florida, there are two ways a public official can get into serious trouble — guns and public records. Florida has powerful statutes regarding firearms and the public’s right to official records, and Okeechobee Police Chief Donald Hagan seems hellbent of violating all of them.

If a local official, or officials as in the case of Okeechobee, enact their own firearm rules, they violate the state preemption statute, which only allows the legislature to regulate arms. Penalties include removal from office and fines of up to $5,000, which the statute requires them to pay personally.

If an official violates that state’s Public Records Act, which is also known as the Sunshine Law, they can face fines of $500 if the violation is a relatively minor error, which the statute calls a noncriminal infraction. However, if an official knowingly violates the Sunshine Law, look out. Penalties can include immediate suspension, removal from office or impeachment, and even criminal charges — a misdemeanor of the first degree — punishable by a prison sentence not to exceed one year.

Chief Hagan, you may recall, infamously signed an illegal ordinance passed by the five-member city council, which banned guns and ammunition sales as well as the right to carry as Hurricane Helene was about to make landfall.

Florida Carry, Inc. is breathing down the city’s neck, as a result. The pro-gun group is about to file a complaint against Hagan and the council members, which could remove all six of them from office and lighten their personal checking accounts by around $5,000 each.

Hagan has yet to explain why he scrawled his name on the illegal ordinance, but his spokesman Detective Jarret Romanello, his Major Bettye Taylor and the city’s mayor, Dowling R. Watford, Jr., have all been attempting massive damage control by gaslighting the public with excuse after excuse, none of which can possibly justify the preemption violation.

The ordinance was stricken down after just hours, Taylor pointed out. She never mentioned that an angry call from Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office may have precipitated the repeal, or that in his emergency order for Hurricane Milton, DeSantis specifically stated that local gun bans were prohibited — a direct result of the mess Okeechobee created….”

“….Chief Hagan likely violated his oath when he banned gun sales and the right to keep and bear arms. His residents and the entire state of Florida have a right to know why. But rather than stepping up and admitting what happened, all we get is gaslighting, excuses and delays.

The public — especially the 5,432 souls living on the north side of Lake Okeechobee — has a right to know the truth.”

  5. EXCERPT: “Nasir Ahmed Tawhedi, the Afghan refugee charged last week in Oklahoma with plotting an Election Day terror massacre was previously flagged by U.S. Customs Border and Protection this summer, weeks before his arrest, during a re-evaluation of his 2021 entry into the country, immigration records reviewed by Just the News show.

Those records conflict with the Justice Department portrayal of Tawhedi, 27, in the criminal information filed in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City.

Immigration records state that the Afghan refugee was let into the country on humanitarian parole on Sept. 9, 2021, and not with a “special immigration visa” reserved for foreigners who worked for U.S. agencies as federal prosecutors told the court.

Tawhedi “was negative for any derogatory information at that time and was admitted under the Port Parole Operations Allies Refuge,” the CBP immigration records stated.

The records show he was assigned an “A#” consistent with humanitarian parole. A senior U.S. official told Just the News that the State Department has no record of him receiving a special immigration visa  “Humanitarian parole” vs. “Special Immigration Visa”

During a routine CBP “Operation Allies Welcome” program re-evaluation this summer of his original entry, Tawhedi was placed on a watch list, referred to Homeland Security Investigations for further probing and flagged by the FBI, the records show.

“On 08/26/2024, TAWHEDI populated the Operation Allies Welcome (OAW) arrival hotlist,” the records state. “TAWHEDI is the subject of a silent hit entered by the Oklahoma Federal Bureau of Investigation to be notified if the subject is encountered.”

The records added, “DEROG FOUND REFERRED TO HSI.”

Law enforcement officials said the records suggest that either the CBP review of Tawhedi found some terror nexus or that the FBI investigation of the Afghan refugee had already begun and alerted border officials to concerns.

The immigration records conflict with the criminal information filed in federal court on Wednesday, which stated that Tawhedi “entered the United States on September 9, 2021, on a special immigrant visa and is currently on parole status pending adjudication of his immigration proceedings.”

There have been reports that Tawhedi worked for the CIA before fleeing to the United States during the Biden-Harris administration’s bungled withdrawal of U.S. troops in August 2021 that led to a bloody Taliban takeover of Afghanistan…..”

  6. We have a huge turbine farm just to the west of me in Holt County. From 2015:

    https://nebraskapublicmedia.org/en/news/news-articles/nebraskas-largest-wind-farm-coming-to-holt-county/

EXCERPT: “Wind turbine blades continue to cause pollution problems for the people living around them. A farm in eastern Iowa has dust and debris from shattered wind turbine blades spread out over 240 acres, and they say the wind farm owner won’t clean it up.

Steve and Teresa Weets, according to The Gazette, agreed in 2012 to an easement allowing Acciona Wind Power to install two turbines on their family farm near Mechanicsville, Iowa. Both turbines have been struck by lightning – one of them twice – over the past 18 months.

The last time it happened was on Aug. 15, and a neighbor called the family early in the morning to say “Your wind turbine’s on fire again.”

Now that the harvest is underway, the debris is hurting the family’s agricultural business. As the blade debris becomes more embedded in the topsoil, the family worries it will contaminate their corn.

After landowners waited months, Acciona removed one of the foundations, a company spokesperson told The Gazette, and they’re talking with landowners to determine the best way to remove the second foundation. The also spokesperson the process is complicated because the foundations of wind towers are made of concrete and steel.

The family has requested that the company use a crane rather than explosives to remove the second tower because explosives might scatter even more debris over the farm. The company has said a crane isn’t safe.

Cedar County, where Mechanicsville is located, requires a decommissioning bond, but that doesn’t cover cleanup efforts….”

  7. Just The News: “A family member of the Afghan national arrested last week on charges of planning a mass terrorist act in Oklahoma on Election Day was arrested and charged in France on Saturday for planning to conduct terrorist attacks on either a French soccer match or a shopping center, according to NBC News.

Though French officials didn’t name the family member in France, they said the 22-year-old Afghan was indicted for plotting attacks against civilians and placed in pretrial detention. There were two people detained along with him, who were released, but officials said the investigation is ongoing.

Both Afghans are believed to have planned to carry out their attacks on behalf of ISIS, according to the officials, although it isn’t known whether their plans were coordinated in the two countries.

The Afghan arrested in Oklahoma on Oct. 7, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, 27,  had contributed to an ISIS charity in March and accessed online ISIS propaganda, according to court documents.

Sources told NBC News that Tawhedi had worked as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan making him eligible for a Special Immigrant Visa and that he had entered the U.S. in September 2021 on what is known as humanitarian parole, about a month after the American military completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

NEW: @MTraceyinvestigated Univision’s “town hall” and found half of the audience was flown in at the network’s expense, while the other half was brought in by a rent-an-audience company called FansOnQ.

It turns out, some “undecided” voters admitted to being Kamala Harris supporters.

“I already knew I was going to go for Kamala before the event, and now that just kind of solidified it… part of the reason I wanted to go was just fully support her,” one respondent said.

Everything about the Harris campaign is *FAKE.*

Worse than that, the U.S. and international media are helping her to fake it. This is Mexican collusion to commit election interference.

When are we going to get a Mexican collusion investigation?

Univision is headquartered in Mexico City and New York City.

And they are on tap to hold another “town hall” for Donald Trump. The Miami event was postponed due to the hurricanes.

  10. this article gives a very good argument for why the National Voter Registration Act is unconstitutional–the whole no removing non citizen names from the voter rolls 90 out of an election. (First of all, if you can’t remove them, then you shouldn’t be able to ADD them either in that time frame. but i digress.)

The law creates a window of opportunity for a crime to be committed–that 90 day window. if an illegal (OR MILLIONS of them) wait until 88-89 days before an election to register to vote, they can influence an election–foreign influence–and could not be removed. that would violate the constitution.

  15. ORLANDO, Fla. – Two men caught a large bass on a flooded Orlando road on Thursday as a man on a riding mower came cruising down the middle of the drenched street – a moment of much-needed levity after days of wondering what Hurricane Milton would bring to Florida.

The humorous scene was caught on Edgewater Drive as News 6 reporter Donovan Myrie and photojournalist Destiny Santana were reporting on damage after Milton crossed the state. Nearby Lake Adair flooded the road, causing a headache for some but an opportunity for others.

Myrie tells Jake Hutcheson and Phillip Diaz that he saw them catch the fish in the road when the most Florida thing happens. “I did. Right in the tree. Honestly, it’s tradition now. Hurricane Ian: same exact thing happened,” said Diaz, still holding the fish and his fishing pole.

  21. EXCERPT: “The first pro-caliphate protest in Hamburg caused a lot of consternation and outrage in the German media when it took place earlier this year, but now it looks like they are set to become a regular occurrence.

Just like past protests in support of establishing an Islamic caliphate in Germany, another one on Sunday night demanding the introduction of Sharia law in Germany saw thousands attend. The videos, once again saw masses of Islamists screaming, “Allahu Akbar,” along with other pro-Islamic chants.

Muslim Interaktiv, the group behind the demonstrations, reported that 5,000 took part. The group is active in Germany organizing rallies, including protests against Israel’s war in Gaza in Palestine.

Past protests were treated with a shrug. Hamburg police chief Frank Schnabel told ZDF in April that he saw no legal grounds for banning the organization. Federal Justice Minister Marco Buschmann also made a similar statement, saying that the call for a caliphate is “politically absurd” but not a punishable offense.

Even more remarkably, Thomas Haldenwang, the head of Germany’s Office of the Protection of the Constitution, a powerful domestic spy agency, also brushed off the caliphate protests, simply stating they are a “conceivable” form of government.

German teenagers who danced and sang “Auslander Raus” (“Foreigners Out”), faced arrest and massive police responses. Teens caught singing the song on video faced widespread public witch hunts, which have seen them lose their jobs and smeared on the front cover of newspapers across the country. In the most famous case on the island of Sylt, German left-wing politicians called for the “maximum penalty” and years in prison against those caught simply singing the song during private events.

Is a caliphate possible in Germany?

For those who believe demographics is destiny, the idea of a caliphate in Germany may not sound so absurd. Germany’s Muslim population is expected to grow rapidly, and for those who adhere to a hard-line form of Islam, they are likely to see even faster population growth due to their fundamentalist interpretation of the Quran and higher birth rates….”

          1. Exactly! And Islam is THE only worldwide religion that has not agreed to abide by Constitutional Law over and above religious law.

  22. Just The News: “Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to do a sit-down interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, according to an announcement from the network on Monday. The interview will air on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET during Baier’s “Special Report,” and will be conducted in Pennsylvania, according to The Hill. This is Harris’s first sit-down interview with Fox News.

The announcement comes as polls are tightening between Harris and GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Harris became the Democratic vice presidential nominee after President Joe Biden suspended his reelection bid and endorsed her earlier this year.

Harris has been doing rounds of media interviews with hosts like Howard Stern and “The View” while Trump has often done interviews on Fox News as well as going on a number of podcasts and internet shows. He may soon be going on podcast host Joe Rogan’s show, according to reports.”

  23. I agree with her – don’t like early voting at all!!!

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/nearly-3-million-americans-have-voted-so-far-heres-what-we-know-5738422?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=ZeroHedge&src_src=partner&src_cmp=ZeroHedge

Nearly 3 million Americans have cast early ballots either in person or by mail with under four weeks to go until Election Day, an election tracking site shows.

As of 6:43 p.m. on Oct. 9, 2,877,590 people had cast ballots in states that report early voting data, according to an update from the University of Florida’s Election Lab website.

Of that figure, nearly 504,000 people had voted early in person, and more than 2.37 million had voted by mail, the tracking site found.

About 47.5 million mail-in ballots have been requested so far. In comparison, more than 92 million mail-in ballots were requested through the 2020 election, according to the university.

In the states reporting how people voted by party, 56.3 percent of people who had returned early ballots were Democrats, representing about 732,378 people. Another 27.4 percent were Republican, representing 356,797 voters, and 16.2 percent, or 210,980, were independent or members of a third party, according to the website. — The Epoch Times

Our Take: I oppose early voting, and this article is one of the main reasons why. The three million Americans that already cast their ballot did so on the current iteration of “facts” in the 2024 election.

There’s still three weeks, with October surprises yet to come, and they can’t change their vote. Three million people can’t change their vote if it turns out the pedophilia allegations against Tim Walz are true. There are multiple accusers now. And documentation.

Further, we shouldn’t have this information at all. It can be spun to suppress votes, manufacture “insight” about the election outcome, and bolster narratives. Of course, my primary reason for opposing early voting is that the data is used for analysis, not just for narrative. Campaigns love it because they know where to focus their efforts. Criminal communists love it because it opens up the table.

The people, we are told, love it because it’s convenient. Apparently, for at least three million, that’s true. Then again, midway turnout numbers are reported by the political monsters that run elections — the same people who benefit most from electoral outcomes.

I advocate for everyone to vote in person on Election Day. I want you to vote with the most up to date information and starve the machine of your data in advance. That being said, I care most that you vote.”

  24. Red State: “There’s a reason that the Darwin Awards exist. To qualify, one has to play a stupid game that awards stupid prizes and, in so doing, remove one’s self permanently from the gene pool, and in so doing, improve the human race. Note that the stupid prize doesn’t have to involve a fatal mistake; one can remove one’s self permanently from the gene pool by losing the capacity to reproduce by a more… local injury. At any rate, those are the rules, and on Monday, we read that a 26-year-old British “influencer” seeking a noteworthy social media stunt played a stupid game and won a stupid prize.

A daredevil British influencer has died after falling from Spain’s highest bridge.

The 26-year digital creator is said to have plunged from the 630ft Castilla-La Mancha bridge in Talavera de la Reina a 90-minute drive south-west of Madrid early this morning over the Tagus River as he climbed it to film a social media stunt.

Local councillor Macarena Munoz confirmed the tragedy today as she said accessing the bridge was ‘totally banned’.

She added: ‘We have made it clear on several occasions that it’s not something that can be done in any circumstances.’

The unnamed British man is said to have been with a compatriot aged 24 when he plunged to his death.

Paging Dr. Darwin, Dr. Charles Darwin. Dr. Charles Darwin, please pick up the white courtesy phone.

Look, young people, especially young men, have a long history of trying dumb stunts. My own Allamakee County youth involved many misadventures that can be summed up with the words “Hold my beer and watch this!” In one particularly dumb stunt, a Saturday evening had found me wanting to go to a dance in a local village about ten miles away; my car was out of gas, my parents had gone away for the weekend and taken the keys to my Dad’s pickup with them – so I took Dad’s 1959 Ford dump truck to the dance.

These dances were great; they were held in what had been an old one-room schoolhouse with a local band. Young people from all the surrounding farms and small towns would show up. As usual, there were a couple of kegs in the parking lot, and having been unsuccessful in attracting the attention of any of the young ladies in attendance, I found myself hanging out with some other guys at the keg. One of them asked who the dump truck belonged to. I raised my hand, and someone said, “Hey, if a bunch of us climbed in the back, and you dumped it out, how long do you suppose we could hang on?”

This is one of those things that can only be resolved by experimentation, so we did that, and fortunately, there were no broken bones, just bruises and scrapes. But there’s a distinction to be drawn here; the chances of fatality in that mixture of young men and beer was nil. Not so for the guy on that Spanish bridge, who has now assumed ambient temperature.

At least he’s not running for office. As long as there are stupid young men, those stupid young men are going to play stupid games and win stupid prizes. It’s too bad when one ends up as a fatality – but we are all responsible for the outcomes of all our decisions, good and bad, as this Brit “influencer” is for him. We can, at least, use him as an object lesson to warn other stupid young men that, yes, you too can end up as a splat.”
