Even though I am NOT a beach person, I can appreciate the many crafts items that can be made with things found at the beach.
Sand Bowls

Sand is mixed with adhesive and allowed to drip and dry over a container. (These can then be stacked as shown in the photo. The details can be found at designboom.com)
Shell Candles

Driftwood Fish

In the new Jack Smith indictment, Federal prosecutors argued that Trump used his X/Twitter account for “personal purposes.”
The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals had this to say back in 2019:
The judges wrote in the opinion that Trump’s Twitter account shows “all the trappings of an official, state‐run account,” and that Trump and his aides have described his tweets as “official statements.”
And they noted that the National Archives, “the agency of government responsible for maintaining the government’s records, has concluded that the President’s tweets are official records.”
So Jack, you can shove it…
What’s really funny is that the left thought they got a nice victory in that court case when the 2nd Circuit said that Trump couldn’t block responses to his Twitter feed.
Now what the court said in that ruling is coming back to bite them in the a s s .

“Is Congress Funding Illegal Immigration or Helping the People of Ukraine?Trump Needs to Pay Attention To This”
Tom Renz, Sep 01, 2024
EXCERPT: “As of today, the United States has spent approximately $175 billion on the war in Ukraine. Depending on who you ask this is about saving people from war, stopping Russian aggression, preserving the security of European allies, or preventing any of a plethora of other geopolitical outcomes.
These arguments carry varying amounts of weight but if our goal is truly to end aggression in Ukraine then one would expect that nearly every dime of this money would either be being used to fight or assist the war ravaged people of Ukraine – right? Unfortunately that is not happening… in fact, it may surprise people to know that this bill may actually be funding the Biden Harris border invasion here in the US.
In this article I am focusing on the latest spending bill from Congress that was supported on both sides of the aisle. I do not believe this bill had much to do with Ukraine. The bill offers enough assistance to keep the war going for sure but isn’t going to do much of anything for the people suffering from the war and will do even less to actually win or stop the war. By the way, the total price tag of this bill was $61 billion so let’s discuss what was in it.
In terms of Ukraine, the bill can generally be broken into three major areas of spending. The first is about $25.7 billion for military equipment. Interestingly enough, $13.4 billion of that is designated to replace American equipment that has been or will be sent to Ukraine under “Presidential drawdown authority.”
This authority allows the President to send military equipment to another country in a time of crisis but only $7.8 billion in new authority was authorized which indicates the Biden/Harris regime has likely already given away a substantial amount of our defense equipment. No one has discussed this or whether those actions have damaged American readiness.
The second major part of the bill provides about $1.6 billion in loans and grants through the State Department for Ukraine (and possibly others) to buy American weapons and provisions. The third part of the bill has nothing to do with Ukraine, but rather, is about increasing defensive manufacturing capabilities….”

EXCERPT: “Congress returns on Monday, Sept. 9 from its August recess and legislators will be up against the clock to pass a spending bill to keep the government fully funded before appropriations run out on Sept. 30.
House GOP leaders vowed to pass separate single-subject appropriations bills as a way to get a grip on spending but the chamber has only passed five bills so far, setting the stage for a temporary Continuing Resolution (CR).
A CR looks like it will be a bit more complicated to pass this time around, given that Republicans are seeking to tie an election-integrity bill called the SAVE Act to the next spending bill.
In July, the GOP-led House passed the SAVE Act but it has not yet been voted on in the Senate. Democrats oppose the legislation, arguing that non-citizens are not voting in federal elections. “It is against the law for non-ctiziens to register to vote and vote in federal elections,” said Rep. Joe Morelle, D-N.Y.
According to the official text, the SAVE Act “requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections.” The bill would prohibit “states from accepting and processing an application to register to vote in a federal election unless the applicant presents documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.” …..”

if they’re NOT voting in elections and not registering for elections…then this bill should have no problem passing, right?
it’s only IF they ARE registering and voting that it will affect anything.

daughter and her family just left. we thought the rainy weekend would make for a washout concerning the firewood—nope daughter and SIL wanted to soldier on. hubby had bucketed 3 loads into the shed Friday afternoon so they could start stacking inside the shed. daughter, granddaughter and i loaded hubby’s truck with firewood and he brought it to the shed where we unloaded it and SIL stacked the walls in between the rain falling.
We found (and killed) 4 snakes in the pile and SIL killed a larger one in the woodshed. We also found 2 large black and green frogs (toads?) the size of my fist that our GD chased down to the pond…lol
And we chased a mouse from the pile too. yuck! so, yeah, an exciting morning…lol
At the restaurant we ate dinner at last evening, I ordered a grilled steak, fries, and cornbread. I had to cut the top layer off the steak as it was so highly seasoned with hot spices i downed 2 glasses of water to quell the fire. the cornbread similarly was hot and spicy but the fries were a greasy mess.
Everyone else loved their meals (and i didn’t like this restaurant the first time we tried it–but they all do). next time we go (and trust me, there will be a next time) i will try the chicken and backed potato.

We Are Facing the Breakup of America as We Know It — September 1, 2024
“We are facing the breakup of America as we know it, advancing into some of the most challenging times in U. S. history, including the days of the American Revolution. After analyzing the messaging throughout the DNC, it’s important to understand that this election is not simply about policy, it’s an opportunity for every American to choose between competing ideologies.
Americanism is based on our constitutional republic, our bill of rights, the rule of law, our freedoms, and the idea that we the people have the absolute say in the direction of our country. In opposition is a totalitarian tyrannical oligarch running as a group of communists and managing our lives at the top by an overarching federal government. There is a stark difference.
It can feel as though our nation is divided into two camps, but one camp is substantially smaller. The ideology of communism pervades inside of our current government structure, particularly in the white house, the executive branch and even in parts of congress. The number of people in our country who truly believe in this is larger than you would think but it’s not half the country the way that the left will make you believe. It is a small group that has infiltrated the political class. The challenge is that they hold significant power.
An additional challenge that we face is that we have an establishment class on the conservative side. Republican Party leaders that don’t like President Trump because he’s not one of theirs. He continues to be an outsider and does not participate as a part of the establishment. Again, the establishment is a small segment of the Republican party, but they are prominent in the political class. They want to take care of our lives, and don’t want us to get involved.
Republicans are in charge of the House of Representatives right now, and should be fighting tooth and nail, but instead, they are out on vacation. We have an extremely weak Speaker of the House, who hasn’t done anything to speak of. We have a Weaponization Committee, which has done even less. Meanwhile, we continue to watch conservatives being thrown into prison with an Attorney General who recently announced that more J6ers would be indicted.
Never mind the recent news that Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, just acknowledged that his social media platforms participated in making sure that the people of this country were lied to for the purpose of swaying the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, which was won by less than 45K total votes. And apparently, we’re meant to simply forget about the 51 Intel leaders that signed a letter that clearly misled the public about Hunter Biden’s laptop (and likely swayed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election).
So, the question remains, where is the accountability? Will there be any action taken or does Zuckerberg get a hall pass offered by Jim Jordan and the judiciary committee? Congress should immediately call these people in and place them under oath, but congress in their illustrious way is still out on recess.
There is an exhaustion throughout this country. The left has attacked Trump with lies of Russia Gate, they’ve impeached him, they’re blaming him for J6, they’ve tried to take his life. They’re going to use everything against him that they can. The fact that he’s convicted in a court in NY right now and he’s going to be sentenced on the 18th of September should terrify us all.
Yes, Americans are exhausted, but we still need to know if there ever will be accountability.
We the people have got to stand up for our country. We the people, is a quote that comes primarily from Christian leaders. Our founding fathers created this country based on a set of Judeo-Christian values and we should be fearless about those values and stand for them every time we’re given an opportunity.
As a general I would pray before battle or I would pray before doing something that came with high risk, but then I stand and act. I would go to battle for a higher purpose.
We must get off our knees as a nation and we must start acting as the people did that founded our country, and we must get involved. We must push back on the lies and deception, and we must tell our elected officials that we’re not going to take this anymore. We need to start demanding the truth, no more deception, no more corruption, and no more hall passes. We’re done with it.”

🚨#BREAKING: Boeing’s Starliner crew are reporting hearing strange “sonar like noises” emanating from the spacecraft
📌#OuterSpace | #Earth
Crews on the International Space Station are trying to identify the source of strange noises reported by Boeing’s Starliner crew, who contacted Mission Control saying, ‘Houston, on two, we have a question about Starliner. We are hearing strange noises coming from the speaker, and we don’t know what’s causing it.’ The Starliner began emitting these ‘strange sonar noises,’ and astronauts on the ISS are working to diagnose the issue, which occurred on Saturday. Since the launched by Boeing on June 5th, the Starliner has faced several problems and significant challenges, temporarily stranding two astronauts. Due to safety concerns, Boeing’s Starliner is set to return on September 6th with no crew on board.

EXCERPT: “An interstate saga that stretched almost a decade finally came to an end as Delaware agreed to a settlement to send over $20 million back to Pennsylvania.
The settlement, which requires Delaware to pay out up to $120 million to 30 states, comes from a dispute over what to do with uncashed checks sent through MoneyGram. Delaware would keep the unclaimed property because MoneyGram was incorporated in the state, rather than send the money to the states where they were bought.
A 2023 Supreme Court ruling went against Delaware and required the money to be returned to the respective states where the MoneyGram was purchased, depriving Delaware of a significant revenue source for its budget.
Pennsylvania officials celebrated the news for its current and future payoff.
“This is a huge win for Pennsylvania consumers, and the right standard has been set for the future,” Treasurer Stacy Garrity said in a press release. “This settlement is the first step in getting that money back into the right hands. I’m proud of the legal team here at Treasury for leading the successful effort to establish this important precedent in national unclaimed property law.”
The settlement includes more than $6.3 million in uncollected MoneyGrams from 2023-2024, and $14 million that covers transactions back to 2011. That leaves the Treasury with a problem: The Treasury can’t identify everyone who is owed money on its own….”
