What Shall We Make Today?

In honor of National Ice Cream Pie Day, today’s recipe is another no bake summer dessert…Ice Cream Pie!

Ingredients

1 carton Ice Cream, 1 – 1.5 QT (Breyer’s Vanilla Ice Cream)

1 tub (8oz) Frozen Whipped Topping (like Cool Whip)

Your Favorite Toppings (You can use chopped Oreos, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Hershey’s Syrup)

1 Graham Cracker Crust, store bought (or Keebler’s Oreo Crust)

Instructions

Soften the ice cream and frozen whipped topping to room temperature so it is easy enough to mix.

Once ice cream is soft, mix with cool whip and your favorite toppings. Pour into crust

Top with extra toppings of your choice and freeze for about 1-2 hours. Serve frozen.

The possibilities are endless…

ENJOY!

    1. Morning, Pat! It’s still dark here so I can’t tell what the skies look like yet. Cool at 64 and still humid. Wheezer on my chair as usual – he had to think for a few minutes before almost reluctantly jumping down to eat his tuna. SMH – spoiled already!!!

Hmmm…..I see BakoCarl didn’t post an open today at M’s…..odd. I checked QTree and saw his usual open…..?

  2. “Will the Trump Campaign Catch mPox & Will We Fall for Another Plandemic?”

    Aug 18, 2024

EXCERPT: “I hope Donald Trump reads this to the end. A congressional report released in June of 2024 (see it here) stated that Anthony Fauci’s NIAID approved gain of function research on the monkey pox virus that is apparently spreading now. It also states that the CDC has been lying to congress about this since that time and is refusing to share documents to confirm or deny that such experiments occurred. The experiments included inserting genes from the more transmissible clade II version of monkey pox into the deadlier clade I version. In light of the fact that we now know COVID was created in the WUHAN lab using American funding and support I thought we should look into monkey pox… spoiler alert: it’s not good.

First, understand that monkey pox or mpox is still primarily only transmissible through skin to skin contact or contact with something that was in contact with an open sore (obviously sexual contact counts). I have not been able to find a single case of mpox that has been shown to have spread via the air or without contact. So if you have it stay home and don’t touch people but if you do not have sores or open wounds it really doesn’t matter. Further, there have only been a couple of hundred deaths globally since 2022 so it is frankly meaningless in terms of danger (unless they’ve released the no GoF version). Below is a pic from a WHO epidemiological report.

Any panic is absurd and the only way we would need to worry about mpox is if these guys were successful in their GoF work and it was released. That is the problem. Unfortunately the GoF work on monkey pox qualifies as Gain of Function Research of Concern GoFRoC) and also as Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC). The designation as DURC is important because that actually means that this research would (just like COVID) qualify as bioweapons development unless someone says, “no, we are just doing this to develop a cure.” That’s little consolation in light of the fact that the same was said about COVID.

This certainly appears to be following the COVID handbook. In fact – there is already a push for masks despite there being zero reason. Below you can see the WHO telling us that this disease spreads through physical contact which is true (though the contact actually needs to include an open wound, sore, or other body fluid – clean skin to skin where there is no infection apparent has not been shown to facilitate transmission).

Despite this reality and the fact that there is literally zero scientific backing I can find anywhere, the WHO – IN THE SAME DOCUMENT – goes on to say we should wear masks because it could potentially enter the body via the respiratory tract (again – there is ZERO evidence of this and there are ZERO cases where this has been proven to happen):….”

    1. it is still mainly transmitted thru contact with open sores–and among gay people. they add the thru the air component so they can increasingly lie about it to redo the cv response with voting imo

  3. EXCERPT: “With antisemitism rising across the globe, from assaults to graffiti, a new analysis finds the political motivation of perpetrators skews decisively to the left, with extreme progressives far more likely to commit such attacks as compared to Islamists or far-right activists like neo-Nazis.

The new findings come as the Democratic National Committee braces for potential unrest from anti-Israel protesters at its nominating convention next week in Chicago just days after presumptive nominee Kamala Harris was confronted at a New York fundraiser by a protest that required some arrests.

The weekly Global Antisemitism Report published by the Combat Antisemitism Movement analyzed 113 incidents that targeted Jewish victims worldwide and found that 57.5% of the perpetrators were identified as far leftists, 22.1% of them were Islamists, 11.5% were unknown and 8.9% were done by far-right extremists.

You can see the breakdown here.

Combat Antisemitism Movement — One of the incidents documented was a man yelling “Free Palestine” while stabbing a Jewish man who was leaving Shabbat services. The attacker fled and the Jewish man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Another incident reported was neo-Nazi and white supremacist graffiti painted on school property in Connecticut, twice in three weeks.

The report showed that 73 of the antisemitic attacks were anti-Zionism attacks, 21 of the attacks were labeled as “classic antisemitism,” 10 were done by Islamists and four were unattributable….”

  4. Just The News: “California Sheriff Mike Boudreaux offered Just the News a poignant story on the different experiences he had with the presidential candidates: Donald Trump thanked law enforcement while Kamala Harris offered no such acknowledgment.

“I have a real small story that I always share that when he [Trump] was running for president for the first time, I was running a safety dignitary detail where he was coming into town,” Boudreaux said on the Friday edition of the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “I was in uniform standing off to the side as his detail came through to make their way over to where he was going to give his speech.”

“Donald Trump made his way through a crowd about 20 to 30 feet over to me, shook my hand and said he wanted to thank me and the men and women in law enforcement, because he knows we have a tough job and that if he is president will support us,” the Tulare County sheriff continued.

Boudreaux said that there were no cameras or video to capture that moment which is what made the interaction even greater.

He said he had the opposite experience with Harris.

“When this detail went down where Kamala Harris has me and others of law enforcement behind her in that image…on that day she came in last minute, didn’t shake the hands or say hi to anyone who was standing behind her and when it was done, her detail escorted her out,” Boudreaux said. “Those are staunch differences in personalities of the two.”

Boudreaux was recently featured in one of Harris’ campaign ads suggesting she would be tough on the southern border and tough on crime. Harris used footage from a 2014 press conference for her new ad where Boudreaux was that day.

He made it clear he does not support Harris. “It’s deceptive and I couldn’t in good faith, let any of my constituents here or anyone who has taken a look at that ad, have it imply that I or anyone in law enforcement is supporting her based on her track record, because that’s truly not the case,” Boudreaux said.”

“Journalist Sends Kids off on a Smartphone-Free Camping Trip – Unsupervised. Adults Quake. Kids Flourish. The Sunday Times (UK) just ran a major story illustrating the twin prescriptions in The Anxious Generation”

Lenore Skenazy and Jon Haidt, Aug 12, 2024

EXCERPT: “Introduction from Jon Haidt: Many journalists have written some version of this story: “I ditched my smartphone for a week and here’s what happened!”  Usually, they encounter some problems and withdrawal symptoms along the way, followed by some benefits. In the end, the journalists typically return to their smartphone-based lives, having learned a few valuable lessons.

These self-experiments are fun to read, but they do little to test the claims I made in The Anxious Generation for three reasons.

    1. The writer is an adult
    2. One week is too short because it takes two or three to overcome withdrawal symptoms and develop new behavior patterns
    3. The writer did it alone! The central point of Part 4 of the book was that we need collective action to escape a collective problem. If you take away screens from one kid while all her friends stay online, then you’ve isolated her. If you don’t replace the virtual world with more independence in the real one, the whole experiment will feel to the kid as though a door is slamming shut instead of a new one opening.

At last, a journalist has done the proper test, and the results are thrilling. Decca Aitkenhead, who writes for The Sunday Times (UK), recruited her two sons (ages 13 and 14), along with six of their male friends, plus two teen girls with whom some of the boys were acquainted. They agreed to go for a month using basic phones with no internet access (although they got access to their smartphones for one hour each evening). In other words, Decca did a study with teens, for a long enough period, in a group

She then did something harder and more amazing: she added a mega-dose of independence. She sent them on an unsupervised two-day camping trip––a chance to experience independence, risk, and problem-solving in the real world, together, just as kids had always done before the 1990s.

The camping trip confirmed everything that Lenore Skenazy has been saying since her 2009 book Free Range Kids (updated in 2021): Young people are starved for independence in the real world. Given some, they flourish.

Decca’s group was incompetent at first, but the kids developed competence as the experiment went on. They took risks (some, admittedly, dumb). They tried new things. And without smartphones glued to their hands, they connected. Yesterday, I heard Decca’s son Jake on a radio program, talking about how much he loved the month-long project. He said, of the camping trip, that it gave him “one of the best nights of my year, maybe of my life.”

I invited Lenore, who co-founded Let Grow with me, to comment on the lessons from the camping trip, below. Lenore helped me write the chapters in Part 4 of The Anxious Generation, and proposed many of the “real world” ideas and actions there, for parents and schools. The camping trip illustrates a collective action to implement the fourth norm: “Far more independence, free play, and responsibility in the real world.”  ….”

  10. It’s almost DNC day! (That is, the Democratic National Convention silly, not Dilation and Curettage.)This means the convention has set up abortion and vasectomy mobile units and even has… a giant IUD on display!

(Not a meme folks – this is for real, as reported by the NY Post).

PSA -Please remember to have your Democrat spayed or neutered.

(Because Women’s sterility rights are most important in this election cycle)?

Truth be told, Owellian wordplay is all around us. This is how they keep us confused and out of control of our lives. Reproduction rights -should mean the right to have a child instead of the opposite.

The clown car continues – rather than focus on the genuine issues facing America, the Democrats are going with abortion, vasectomies, and IUDs? Is this because they truly do believe in a de-population agenda or because they would rather focus on sterilization rights – than talk about inflation, the two major wars we are engaged in, or the ongoing Hunter Biden/Joe Biden corruption trials?”

      1. So far, it’s been a relatively peaceful weekend. I repaired the lift leg support where the stitching had come loose, made an extra pair of polar fleece covers for them, so we can put one set on while the other one is in the wash.

Also did some sewing for Sally’s Dad, while he read out loud the fasinating history of the sewing machine, and of the Singer company – which would make a good topic for a post, since you are a big Singer fan! I cannot imagine trying to run a household or just live without a sewing machine. I will have one even if I lived in an apartment….and as long as I live and can operate it.
