  1. Looks so good, Miss Pat! If I was in the room with it, I’d probably eat a scandalous 2 pieces. It might not last more than 2 days at my house. I love sweets and candy too much. I was using candy to offset stress….you know the old saying – desserts is stressed spelled backwards.

So, I decided to swear off desserts and candy for a while. I even quit buying 5 for 1$ packs of Heath and Reeses Fast Breaks, bags of Hershey nuggets, etc. at the Dollar General near the Village to offset my frustrations with Sally Q’s outrageous behavior.

I do occasionally have a teaspoon of preserves or Polaner Peach All Fruit or Honey as a treat on toast or plain yogurt. I lost a good bit of weight….so I’ll keep it up. I was getting a bit rotund. Maybe the loading/unloading for the Village and Sally’s bathroom floor job helped me lose weight too. Don’t get excited – I’m not skinny yet. I’m only down to the full term weight with my second baby! Ha-ha! Still – that’s better than nothing!

    So

    1. Morning GA!
      hubby LOVED this pie!
I loved how easy it was to make, and hubby does love peanut butter!
I am diabetic and should avoid sweets, but i cannot. During Lent when i give up candy, I can get irritable! and I tend to substitute jellies and other sweet things in excess. So i allow myself candy when i can’t distract myself from it with other things. but then i walk it off.
      i walk about 25-30 miles a week–in my house.

Flip to spring again! Wheezer was sleeping on my chair – as soon as I pushed the blind up, she woke up and jumped down to wait for her tuna. Gotta buy more tuna!

In 2021, @VP Harris agreed to lead the Administration’s signature effort to expand Internet infrastructure. Congress then provided $42 billion for the work.

It’s now been 9️⃣8️⃣7️⃣ days since the plan was enacted &

    0️⃣ Americans have been connected

0️⃣ Shovels worth of dirt turned

    It gets worse.

In 2020, Starlink won an FCC award to quickly & efficiently offer Internet to 642,000 homes & businesses.

But the FCC revoked that award in 2023.

The revocation hit states like Pennsylvania particularly hard b/c it had 59,200 locations covered by the award.

The 2023 Commission decision to revoke the Starlink award only came after the Administration gave agencies the green light to go over Musk.

The government’s approach to broadband infrastructure should be guided by smart policies not partisan score settling.

Pennsylvania alone is supposed to be getting $1.16 billion of the $42B based on needing to extend Internet to 278,536 unserved homes and business.

But not one of those locations have been connected with these dollars.

There’s still time to correct course & start connecting communities.

Begin by eliminating the DEI mandates, dropping the climate change agenda, reversing the unlawful technology bias, and cutting out the layers of needless red tape added on by the Biden-Harris Administration.

Judge Merchan enjoys the same sovereign immunity that Trump does.

Throwing Trump in jail would be the biggest rally cry the Democrats could ever give to their base.

The sentencing was delayed, so Merchan can rule on the motion towards Trump’s immunity.

In reality, the sentencing is delayed so that Trump’s appeal is decided after the election.

In my opinion, and I don’t enjoy the right to immunity, Trump gets sent to Rikers, and the Dems use it as a rally cry, not just as an accomplishment, but as a lesson on what they will accomplish if you go to the polls and vote for them.

  6. laughing at a funeral…not unusual at all

    FTA

At one point, Harris started touting her own political record. She then called herself “the president,” which led to the room bursting out in applause. Remember, this is a funeral

Kamala Harris accidentally calls herself ‘the president’ during late Dem Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s eulogy — causing crowd to go wild https://t.co/eoD5XTAQVu pic.twitter.com/vAmOOuPl09— New York Post (@nypost) August 1, 2024

HARRIS: It was Sheila Jackson Lee whose bill made Juneteenth a federal holiday (applause), which as a United States senator I was proud to co-sponsor, and then as president, as vice president, it was my honor (long applause)…with the president, with the president, it was my honor, it was my honor with our president Joe Biden to stand beside Shelia Jackson Lee as our president signed her bill into law.

To make things even more uncomfortable, as all the rapturous applause is happening, the camera shot changes to a wide shot of Jackson Lee’s coffin. Harris then begins laughing as she stumbles through the rest of her statement.

    1. They still use it today! Hell, way back when, in the late 1990’s, you could go to a health food store and buy stuff to make a tea that would wipe out all signs of drugs. I can only imagine what’s available now!!! I know since I used it myself once – the only job interview I ever had that did drug testing – I smoked MJ the night before, drank the tea in the morning, and the test was clear. It also depends on how much fat you have in your body – the drug stays longer since it is stored in fat cells; skinny, like me, and it clears from your system more quickly.

  8. Just The News: “Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday said that the United States officially recognizes opposition candidate Edmundo González as the real winner of the Venezuelan presidential election, instead of incumbent Nicolas Maduro.

The results of Sunday’s presidential election have been in dispute since both candidates claimed victory. But the National Electoral Council declared Maduro the victor on Monday, which gave him a third six-year term. Protests have broken out across the country as a result.

“Given the overwhelming evidence, it is clear to the United States and, most importantly, to the Venezuelan people that Edmundo González Urrutia won the most votes in Venezuela’s July 28 presidential election,” Blinken said in a statement reported by the Associated Press.

The announcement comes as officials from the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia pressure Maduro’s government to release the vote tally from the election, which Gonzalez and his ally, opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, claim would prove that Maduro actually lost.

The officials claimed that releasing the tallies would be the only way to dispel concerns about the legitimacy of the election.

Maduro has asked the country’s highest court to conduct an audit of the election, but members of the international community claimed that the court was not an impartial entity, and was too close to Maduro. But the court accepted the request anyways, and has asked Maduro and the other candidates to appear in court on Friday.”

  9. IMO, he was a spy, whether sanctioned by the USG or not – he was a spy!!! He USED his US citizenship to conduct illegal surveillance – period! Jordan is being truly disingenuous!!!

“Was Evan Gershkovich a spy? It depends on who you trust.”

    Jordan Schachtel, Aug 02, 2024

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The Wall Street Journal’s Evan Gershkovich was the most high-profile American released Thursday as part of a major prisoner exchange deal between the United States and Russia, which saw the transfer of dozens of alleged spies and activists between the two adversaries.

Gershkovich has spent the last year and a half in various Russian prisons. He was detained by Russia’s FSB (somewhat equivalent of the FBI) in March 2023, and accused of spying for the United States government against Moscow. Since the beginning, the Biden Administration and The Journal have insisted that he was not a spy and had nothing to do with U.S. intelligence services. Nonetheless, last month, the Russians sentenced him to 16 years in prison, after being convicted of espionage.

So, who are we supposed to believe? Was Evan Gershkovich a spy or not? The answer is not as simple as it seems. Let’s start with Gershkovich’s background.

The son of Soviet refugees to the United States. Fluent in Russian. Employed at all of the corporate media institutions (The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal) that sometimes partner with three letter agencies (wittingly or unwittingly) on the espionage front. Spent six years in Russia prior to his arrest. Reported on the war in Ukraine from a perspective that was a bit hostile to Russia’s position. It’s safe to say that he has ideal spy credentials, but so do a lot of people. We can’t rule him in or out .

    Evan Gershkovich stands trial/ Reuters

For several years reporting in Russia, everything seemed to be going swimmingly for the WSJ reporter, until he started snooping around a little too much for the Russians’ liking, at least according to the Kremlin’s narrative of events.

Russian President Vladimir Putin visiting Uralvagonzavod tank factory

Gershkovich had been “on assignment” in the Russian industrial city of Yekaterinburg, which is significant because it is home to many secret military endeavors, such as armored tank and hypersonic missile manufacturing, research, and development. Russian officials accused Gershkovich of collecting secrets on the “production and repair of military equipment,” specifically, accusing him of trying to get a sense of Russia’s tank inventory. This information, if allowed to slip into the hands of Russia’s adversaries, would provide pro-Ukraine forces with a strategic leg up. American officials and The Wall Street Journal responded to the charges by declaring that Gershkovich was simply doing his job to make the public aware of the reality on the ground.

    Russian hypersonic missile battery, TASS

Now, I can see why Russia — whether or not Gershkovich was a spy — would be a little miffed by a publicly reported revelation of this magnitude. Imagine if some high-profile credentialed Russian journalist was staked out outside of critical American R&D military industrial centers, and attempting to learn the latest about our top secret Pentagon project. We too, would probably throw that guy in the slammer and make a similar accusation concerning his intentions.

Now, if you read in between the lines of both Western and Russian narratives, it appears that Russian intel caught wind of Gershkovich’s mission at Yekaterinburg, and conducted what amounted to a sting operation in order to both secure his arrest and catch him in a compromised state.

Putin’s comms staff said they caught Gershkovich “red-handed” as a spy, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov later said Moscow has “irrefutable evidence that Gershkovich was engaged in espionage.”

As for the smoking gun evidence supposedly tying Gershkovich to the CIA and whatnot… it never emerged in public. Now, there could be an explanation for that other than the possibility that Russia was bluffing the whole time. It could very well have something to do with the lack of due process in Russia, where the security state takes preference over individual rights. Or the fact that Russian officials often don’t feel the need to justify the integrity of their judicial affairs to Western observers. But nonetheless, Moscow never really delivered the goods, despite deciding to convict and sentence Evan Gershkovich to 16 years in prison.

Further complicating things is the reality that the CIA and other U.S. intelligence services would never in a million years confirm if Gershkovich is “our man” or simply a reporter who happens to possess an ideal resume for a spy. And yes, a denial means pretty much nothing in this day and age. A “noble lie” for the sake of “national security” is a time-honored tradition in our country.

Was Evan Gershkovich a spy? While select people and institutions are aware of that ultimate answer, that conclusive evidence may never see the light of day.

Nonetheless, it’s unfair and illogical to call on Mr Gershkovich and his employer to prove a negative. And the Russians never made the definitive case that he was working for the CIA. So, therefore, a responsible observer would have to give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

Our verdict: Innocent, because the prosecution failed to demonstrate that he is a spy.”

  10. EXCERPT: “….Being born in the UK did not satisfy the rioters, who still believed this to be an ideology-motivated attack.

The UK has a considerably smaller number of far-right people in comparison to the United States. Part of this is due to Europe’s secularism. In America, a strong Christian faith is associated with the right-wing political spectrum. Additionally, the UK’s conservative party that was just ousted after 14 years of power would be considered quite liberal if compared to American standards. One important differentiator is that massive immigration has occurred under their leadership, something the Republicans would never advocate for.

Yet the group responsible for the Southport riot is claiming to be far-right. Could this be a rising movement? They are angry at the immigration levels that have occurred in their communities. As recently reported, Europe’s immigration rate has been so rapid that it is virtually unsurvivable. This group understands that, and they are quite angry.

This isn’t just about three little girls ruthlessly murdered. It’s about people in a country waking up and realizing that it’s too late and what’s been done cannot be undone. What a desperate, horrible wake-up call that would be. It’s a lesson to us that while there is still time, we must protect the values of our country for future generations.”

  11. Absolutely disgusting! But, then, there are some US personnel who were also involved….looking at YOU, John Brennan!!!

EXCERPT: “We reported on the plea deal that was announced by the Biden Defense Department with some of the terrorists allegedly involved in the horrific attack on 9/11.

The prosecution reached a plea agreement with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi. But the Pentagon did not release any details of the deal, showing that typical Biden team “transparency.”

As we noted, a “person familiar with the deal” said it involved a life sentence rather than the death penalty in exchange for guilty pleas. Family members of the 9/11 victims also confirmed they were told this by the Office of Military Commissions.

Now, this case has been messed up for a long time, but needless to say, the family members and Americans in general are very upset that the Biden-Harris administration struck such a deal concerning the 9/11 attack.

But guess what the White House did? They released a statement saying they had “no role” in the process. Then White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was grilled over the deal as she was asked what was the White House response to the families? She kept looking down and could barely even pick her head up to look the reporters in the eye, her answer was so disgraceful:

Now they are trying to report that the male boxer is “intersex”

They are banking on the everyday person knowing absolutely nothing about DSD conditions.

In fact, most people think “intersex” is a singular diagnosis and use the word interchangeably with “hermaphrodite”

    A. There is no such thing as hermaphroditism in humans. All people are male or female.
    B. “Intersex” is an outdated colloquialism. It’s more a political identity than it is a medical diagnosis. It is an umbrella term that covers a tiny fraction of conditions referred to as “Differences in Sexual Development” (DSD)

Male development is dependent on the production of testosterone as produced by testes. Females exposed to T in utero that isint produced by their body don’t become men but their reproductive development is usually affected…but not to the point the become something other than female.

There is an increasing occurrence of poorer countries seeking out male athletes with DSDs such as alpha 5 reductase (also referred to as “penis at 12”) or conditions like PAIS (partial androgen insensitivity syndrome) these countries will list any ambiguous genitalia as female.

Imane Khelif is a man. You can tell he has gone through male development by looking at him.

Castor Semanya is also a man (another case of 5 alpha)

It’s ok to trust your eyes. Men look male. There is no DSD that results in a female with full male development.

  14. https://thefederalist.com/2024/08/01/fbi-ramping-up-censorship-efforts-ahead-of-2024-election/

The FBI is ramping up its censorship efforts ahead of the 2024 presidential election by increasing its coordination with social media companies after having started a quiet operation in February to censor information, according to a recent memo.

A Department of Justice (DOJ) memo dated July 12, 2024, from Associate Deputy Attorney General George D. Turner, states that following the Supreme Court’s decision in Murthy v. Missouri, the Biden administration has sought to censor information it deems to be “foreign malign influence” (FMI) information. That June decision obliterated the First Amendment’s right to free speech.

Following the Supreme Court’s stay in October 2023 of a 5th Circuit injunction restricting the FBI’s collaboration with Big Tech, the DOJ “began developing a standardized approach for sharing FMI information with social media companies that continued to appropriately account for First Amendment considerations,” the memo states.

The FBI began using the standard operating procedure in “early February 2024” and “actively sharing FMI threat information with social media companies on a continuing basis,” the memo explains, adding, “As part of that strategy, FBI will resume regular meeting in the coming weeks with social media companies to brief and discuss potential FMI threats involving the companies’ platforms.” — The Federalist

  16. “Beekeepers continue to lose hundreds of thousands of honey bee colonies, USDA reports”

Posted: August 1, 2024 by Rebecca Raney

    Credit: Leopictures, via Pixabay

EXCERPT: “American beekeepers and honey producers continued to lose hundreds of thousands of bee colonies each quarter in 2023, according to an annual survey released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

From January through March, respondents to the federal survey reported that they lost nearly 400,000 colonies in a single quarter. That number constitutes 15 percent of the estimated 2.7 million honey bee colonies in the United States. During the rest of the year, respondents reported that they lost between 250,000 and 380,000 colonies each quarter.

“It’s so hard to keep them alive,” said Chris Hiatt, president of the American Honey Producers Association. “We just expect we’re going to lose 40 to 50 percent.”

Despite the substantial losses, the estimated number of honey bee colonies remained stable from 2022 to 2023, with the total number of colonies estimated at 2.71 million. The totals have remained the same because beekeepers added or renovated colonies throughout the year.

Hiatt said that because demand for pollination is increasing, the number of hives should have increased as well, but that beekeeping operations are struggling to maintain the hives they have. “Financially, everyone should have increased their hive numbers by 10 to 20 percent,” he said. “Hive numbers should go up.”

On the positive side, the reports of symptoms of colony collapse disorder (CCD) decreased in the first quarter of 2024. Last year, in the first quarter, that number spiked at more than 107,000 colonies. In the first quarter of 2024, by comparison, that number fell to 70,650….”

when we first moved in we got to see a hive split and a new queen/hive emerge. he/ they liked the area because it was close to the stream and we would see bees flying there all the time.

  19. SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Here’s a story that will brighten your day and perhaps even restore your faith in humanity. It’s about how an unhoused man rescued a lost dog and gave him a little extra TLC — or tender loving care — until that dog was reunited with its owner.

And when that man was offered a little money for his trouble, he turned it down. Now, the dog owner wants to find that Good Samaritan to say thank you. Bob Eicholz of San Francisco walks his two whippets Wardy and Taylor often. Wherever the dogs go, they have a GPS tracker on them. But last Saturday, the dogs were staying with a pet sitter and Wardy got loose.

“He escaped from our pet sitter’s house. Wasn’t her fault. He jumped over the fence. Got out,” said Eicholz. And boy, did Wardy take off-like a whippet. “They’re very skittish. They’re extremely fast. They can run over 30 miles an hour,” said Eicholz.

“Ten minutes later, a lady captured him. But she grabbed the collars, and he backed out and she kept the collars and he ran off. So now, he is in urban San Francisco with no collars. No ID of any kind,” said Eicholz.

Wardy’s GPS tracker came off with one of those collars. He was missing for two days. Eicholz posted missing dog flyers all over the city and shared the information online. “There were probably at one point 50 people helping me find him,” said Eicholz.

With the help of strangers, Eicholz kept tabs on where Wardy was spotted. “He runs all over the Mission District, crosses Market Street; he goes to Hayes Valley,” said Eicholz. Wardy ended up in the Tenderloin. Eicholz said a homeless man found the dog at a park off Eddy Street.

“The homeless man bought him a little crate, a blanket, a pad, food, dog toys and kept him for two days. This is man who has nothing, and lives in this park. And took care of our little boy,” said Eicholz. “Just makes me think you don’t realize how many kind people are out there until something like his happens.

Soon after Wardy went missing, another dog walker actually spotted him. “I noticed he had no owner; no collar and he took down the street,” said Monique Lee. Monique Lee posted about it online and two days later got a call from a different dog walker who saw Wardy and a man at a bus stop.

That dogwalker approached the man and Wardy three days after the dog went missing. “The man had Wardy in a little crate and blanket, and he was giving him love and care. You can tell Wardy was content with him,” said Lee.

“That’s him asleep in the crate,” said Eicholz. The woman showed the man the missing posters and explained that Wardy had run away. The man handed over the dog. “That’s when he said, ‘Here, take the dog. You have to take the blanket. He loves this blanket,’” said Eicholz.

Wardy is home again. As for Eicholz, he wants to find the kind-hearted man who gave Wardy so much. “I’d love to know more about this man,” said Eicholz. “We’re looking for him. I’d like to say ‘thank you.’ I’d like to give him a little more money or buy him something he needs –just the kindness of someone to do something like that when I’m sure he has a lot of other things on his mind.”

Eicholz has these words for the man. “That was incredibly kind of you to do that. You didn’t have to do that. It touches my heart deeply that you took care him. Not only food but you also bought him a place to stay. Thank you,” said Eicholz.”

It is certainly an interesting and important question. Was FJB threatened with the 25th amendment? If so, the person that would need to start that process is the Vice President, who just so happened to benefit the most from such a threat.

“What Does Kamala Harris Know About Biden Suddenly Dropping Out Of 2024?”

    Excerpts:

The question journalists and congressmen should be asking on repeat is an updated version of Sen. Howard Baker’s question during the Watergate investigation: “What did the vice president know and when did she know it?”

If there was a threat, for it to have been a credible threat, Harris and a majority of the cabinet almost certainly would have to be complicit. Such a hypothetical threat would have been either unjustified or justified. In either case, if the vice president (and any cabinet members) were complicit in such a threat, it would be an impeachable offense.

The Constitution does not outline the considerations a vice president ought to take into account when exercising her power to judge a president’s ability. But, at a bare minimum, it cannot be wielded with a corrupt motive. For example, if a vice president threatened to invoke the 25th, unless the president refused the nomination of his party and endorsed the vice president’s candidacy, that would be a textbook case of quid pro quo, a corrupt abuse of the power of the vice presidency for personal political gain.

that sounds extraordinary, consider that no sitting president, primary winner, and presumptive nominee of a major political party has ever withdrawn from a presidential race before. Nor has a president insisted he would not leave a race unless the Lord Almighty himself descended and commanded him to do so — and then left, apparently sans visitation, but possibly only after the vice president threatened to use the powers of her office to oust him. That is extraordinary. Call this Kamalagate.

Americans, particularly the millions of Democratic primarygoers whose votes were nullified in a smoke-filled backroom, deserve answers. What did the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee know and when? It’s time to investigate Kamalagate.

  21. “Pint-sized hero sprints mile to save parents injured in tornado: ‘Please don’t die’

By Katherine Donlevy, Published May 2, 2024, 10:07 p.m. ET

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “A brave 9-year-old caught in a furious tornado with his parents sprinted more than a mile away after disaster struck to help save their lives — telling the injured couple: “Please don’t die, I will be back.’”

Little Branson Baker and his parents were desperately trying to find shelter from the deadly tornadoes that swept through Oklahoma Saturday when they found themselves directly in a storm’s path. Their car was lifted by the powerful winds and thrown into a patch of trees, crunching the pick-up truck into an unrecognizable mess and seriously injuring the front-row passengers.

Both Wayne and Lindy Baker suffered broken backs, necks and ribs. Wayne also broke his sternum and arm, as well as lost part of his finger, while Lindy’s jaw and right hand broke. She also suffered a punctured lung.

Somehow, their brave son crawled out of the mangled mess and ran more than a mile in the dark through downed power lines and debris to a neighbor’s house and brought help back to his family.

“The only way he found his way back was with lightning strikes that lit the road. He ran as fast as he could, as hard as he could, he made a mile in 10 minutes. That’s pretty impressive for a little kid,” Branson’s uncle, Johnny Baker, told CBS News. “The last thing Branson told them was, ‘Mom, dad, please don’t die, I will be back.’”

Johnny Baker was on the phone with his brother’s family when the tragedy struck — forcing Johnny “to hear the unimaginable,” family friends state. The phone went dead, leaving Johnny and his wife to search for the couple without much direction, ultimately finding them right as Branson’s help arrived at the scene. “Branson is small, but he is so mighty, he is a hero. You think all the time that children are destined to do great things, but Branson has already started on his greatness,” an online fundraiser for the family reads.

Branson’s heroics didn’t end there, however — his baseball team held a fundraiser Monday night to help raise money for the family. The pint-sized lionheart’s teammates each sported “Bakers Battle” stickers on their helmets for the duration of their game. “With the Baker stickers put on the helmets, they helped give Branson a little motivation as well, he actually hit a home run last night,” Johnny Baker told the outlet.

Wayne and Lindy are still recovering in the trauma ICU, but Johnny Baker remains optimistic that the couple will make a full recovery. “He had to become his parent’s superman and go do what he had to go do. That’s exactly what he said. He said, ‘I have to save my parents,’” Johnny Baker continued.

The Bakers were just one of many victims of the 15 tornadoes that ripped through the Sooner State on April 27. At least five people were killed and dozens of others were injured.”

  22. Just The News: “The Trump Media & Technology Group on Friday announced the phased rollout of Truth+, it’s new video streaming platform.

“First, we created Truth Social to provide a safe harbor for free speech on the Internet,” TMTG CEO Devin Nunes said in a press release. “Now, we’re establishing a reliable home for great TV content that is neglected by the big corporations or is at risk of cancellation—and we are securing our own tech stack and hardware infrastructure to make our new CDN uncancellable.”

“I look forward, in the near future, to launching many enhancements and adding great, new content to the platform,” he added.

The rollout will require iOS users to update the app, while Android and web users will not need to do so. The update will permit users to view streamed content in conventional channel platform or through a smaller window while users the app’s other features.

The announcement thus far does not appear to have significantly impacted the company’s stock price, however. DJT currently trades at just over $27.00 per share, roughly on par with Thursday’s figures.

The NASDAQ, more broadly, witnessed a significant tumble on Friday morning.”

Definitely a noticeable difference from day-to-day. Also clipped some of the willow branches so they don’t knock Jason off his mower! LOL – won’t need to mow until well into next week tho. Grass is really getting brown more and more every day!

  23. Just The News: “Chevron Corporation announced Friday it’s relocating its headquarters from San Ramon, California, to Houston.

The company expects all corporate functions to migrate to Houston over the next five years. Senior leaders, including Chevron Chairman and CEO Mike Wirth and Vice-Chairman Mark Nelson, will move to Houston before the end of 2024, but the company said the decision won’t impact other employees currently based in San Ramon.

“Friday’s announcement seems symbolic of the diminishing presence of both Chevron and the oil industry itself in California. As state leaders have moved to force a transition away from oil and its related products, the state’s once-thriving industry has gradually declined in significance,” energy analyst David Blackmon said of the move on his “Energy Absurdities” Substack.

Roughly 7,000 Chevron employees are in the Houston area and about 2,000 employees in San Ramon, according to the company’s announcement.

The company operates crude oil fields, technical facilities, and two refineries and supplies more than 1,800 retail stations in California.”

  24. “Friday Funnies: Hallucinating A.I.s. — If they only had a brain.”

Robert W Malone MD, MS, Aug 02, 2024

    Factchecked: True (from Business Insider)

    • Meta’s AI chatbot was initially programmed to not answer questions about the assassination attempt against Trump, the company said.
    • After Meta updated the bot to give a response, in some instances, it claimed the shooting didn’t happen.
    • The incident, which the company blamed on “hallucinations,” shows how chaotic AI can be when mixed with politics.

    The Meta spokeperson states:

“In a small number of cases, Meta AI continued to provide incorrect answers, including sometimes asserting that the event didn’t happen — which we are quickly working to address,” Kaplan wrote. “These types of responses are referred to as hallucinations, which is an industry-wide issue we see across all generative AI systems, and is an ongoing challenge for how AI handles real-time events going forward. Like all generative AI systems, models can return inaccurate or inappropriate outputs, and we’ll continue to address these issues and improve these features as they evolve and more people share their feedback.”

We live in a bizarre world.

    • Where the FBI director lies to Congress, stating that it could have been “shrapnel” that hit the president.
    • Where the Google search engine – would not show results for the Trump assassination until public outcry demanded it.
    • Where Facebook denies the assassination was real – until their lies are exposed.

But heck, they can blame it all on “faulty” AI systems, which are busy “hallucinating,”… and MSM goes along to get along…All of which shows the power of access journalism and advocacy journalism to control the media.
