Hair conditioner is not just for your hair. There are lots of practical ways to use leftover hair conditioner around your home.

Here are some alternative uses for hair conditioner.

Protect Leather Shoes

Dab a rag in some conditioner and work it into your leather shoes. Apply in small amounts at a time and make sure your boots are fully dry when you smart. This will protect your shoes from snow and salt.

Remove Stickers, Bandages, and Temporary Tattoos

To reduce pain or prevent sticker residue, you can use a dab of conditioner to remove a sticker, adhesive bandage, or temporary tattoo.

Cuticle Cream

Rub some conditioner on your cuticles before you push them back or trim them to keep them soft.

Detangler

Mix some water and conditioner in a spray bottle and use it as a detangler or leave-in conditioner.

Reshape and Soften Bristles

If your makeup brushes have become stiff you can work a small amount of conditioner through them after they are washed to reshape and soften them up.

Fabric Softening Dryer Sheets

Instead of buying dryer sheets you can make reusable ones. Pour equal parts conditioner and water in a spray bottle and shake it up. Wet a washcloth with this solution and let it dry. Once it is dry you can put it in your dryer and use it as a dryer sheet.

Unclog a Drain

Squirt some conditioner into your drain and chase it with some hot or boiling water. This can lubricate the clog and help it to slide down.

Shaving Cream

If you’re all out of shaving cream, you can use conditioner in place of it.

Makeup Remover

Take a washcloth with a dab of conditioner and use it to wipe your makeup off if you need some makeup remover in a pinch.

Polish Stainless Steel

Shine your stainless steel and remove fingerprints and smudges by wiping your surfaces down with a clean rag that has a dab of conditioner of it.

Detergent For Delicate Items

Fill a sink with warm water and squirt a bit of hair conditioner into it. Submerge your delicate item in the solution to hand wash items like wool, pantyhose, and underwear.

Unshrink a Sweater

Fill a sink with warm water and pour a tablespoon of hair conditioner on it. Submerge your shrunken sweater in this solution and let it soak for several hours. Squeeze out the water, then lay it flat, and stretch it out back to its original size. This only works if your sweater hasn’t been exposed to heat.

    1. “She was one of only 14 people that endorsed the Green New Deal,” says Glenn. Among those who signed it were Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, placing Kamala with “the radical of the radical.”

    2. Harris “co-sponsored single-payer health care” (i.e. universal health care).

    3. She advocated for “a complete transition away from fossil fuels in ten years” – which would have led to the “collapse of our economy,” says Glenn.

    4. She supported a “universal government jobs guarantee.”

    5. “She was also for government programs promising universal access to healthy foods.”

  6. OK – got the service guy scheduled to look at my a/c tomorrow morning – it’s grinding loudly again and the last time it did that, he had to add coolant. I wanted to get it done before the mid-to-high 90’s expected next week. And I got an appointment to get my hair cut at 4:30 today. Progress! The fog is just now starting to lift, with cloud cover still, and temp is rising, now 75 that feels much higher.

  8. Phew! Just got in from watering the lopes, garden beds, lilies on the west, clematis and rose bush, and the other bushes. It’s hot, hot, hot out there – up to 81 now and the sun is shining full force. I also took 10 minutes or so to spray the leaves out from the bottom of the a/c unit and the unit itself to get the dust off – I neglected to do it last year and that makes it work harder. He would have bitched at me tomorrow, too! LOL

      1. Oh, it’s working – just making more noise than it should. It’s not quite as loud now after I cleaned it but it’s been a few years so I’m not cancelling the appointment. It’s a very old unit so best to be safe than sorry, IMO.

    The resolution, introduced by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., House Republican conference chair, formally condemns the administration for failing to “secure the U.S. border,” pointing to 9.7 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide since January 2021 and refers to Harris and President Biden’s “Border Czar.”

  12. we went out to the garden so hubby could pick some tomatoes and i could check on the zucchinis…more dang bites taken out of the tomatoes! but the 3 zucchinis are still there!

    BUT…I have a watermelon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    it’s about the size of the cherry tomatoes…lol

    AND on the way out of the house, i wanted to show hubby where something was nibbling at the mouse bait we left by the railing. when i went out in the morning, there were crumbs–mice usually eat them whole as do raccoons. there by the railing was a bat! on the deck.

    since we just came out that door and the other door was locked, there was no retreat. hubby grabbed a stick and made sure it was dead while i covered my head with the bowl i brought out. it must have been near death hubby said when we went out. (it was one in the afternoon and it might have been nibbling on the bait.)

    EXCERPT: “The bulk of this article was written in the time between Biden’s disastrous Presidential Debate and the assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life. Talk about a week to remember. Q posted “a week to remember” on July 14, 2019. Trump’s assassination attempt was on July 13th, five years later.

    Since the rally in Butler, Trump has picked JD Vance as his VP, the RNC occurred, and Biden has dropped out of the race. We’ve experienced an epic week—a week in which one can’t take a breath and reestablish their bearings because with every new day, a tectonic shift of the narrative occurs.

    But what set all of this into motion?

    I no longer believe Biden’s performance on the debate stage caused the Deep State to make its massive shift—a changing of the batter. While the argument that his obvious cognitive issues were displayed to the masses and there was no way of walking it back, everyone in the media knew of Biden’s cognitive issues for years, and they’ve been making excuses for him for years. They’ve been protecting him for years. So why turn on him now, immediately after the debate?

    One could say the media couldn’t cover for Biden any longer because his cognitive decline was now too obvious. I would argue that we didn’t even see the worst of Biden during the debate. The argument I’m about to make is that it was determined Biden needed to be replaced before the debate ever occurred, and that the debate was the event that would be used to justify the decision. This helps to explain why the media so quickly and universally turned on Biden immediately following the debate. They didn’t wait for their 4am talking points, as their orders were already given to them.

    What if the concoction of drugs that make Biden temporarily semi-coherent wasn’t given to him prior to the debate, but was rather withheld to intentionally expose his mental state?

    In my opinion, Biden was at his most coherent during his latest State of the Union Address, after which, many commented on how drugs were used to get him into that coherent state for an hour. It doesn’t appear the same drugs were used for the latest debate. Biden was out of it from the very beginning.

    Did the Deep State Cabal decide before the debate that a changing of the guard was necessary, and the debate was where and when the process would start? Was Biden being set up?

    But why did this change need to occur now? What happened in the weeks prior to the debate that would lead the Deep State to believe they needed to replace Biden now? What happened that made it necessary for the Deep State to not only replace Biden, but attempt to assassinate Trump?

    This is panic like we have never seen before. They could have replaced Biden at any time during the past three years. They could have tried to assassinate Trump at any time during the past three years as well. What happened that seems to have triggered their desperation?

    I think it might be something that was so subtle that most didn’t even know it occurred.

    On June 10, 2024, roughly two weeks before the debate, Trump first publicly put out the notion that, as POTUS, he would work towards making tips tax-free. Again, very subtle, but was this received by the Deep State as Trump saying he was going to take down the whole corrupt financial system during his next presidency?

    Making tips tax-free could be viewed as a first step towards abolishing income tax.

    After abolishing income tax, the money supply system would be next. Without private bankers controlling America’s money supply system, the Deep State Cabal stands no chance of surviving. To me, it is more likely that this is what sparked the Deep State desperation, and not the public waking up to Biden’s lack of cognitive prowess. The vast majority of people already knew Biden wasn’t fit to run the country before the debate ever occurred….”

      1. See, now this bit about abolishing the money supply system concerns me….how, exactly, would that affect the average American? What would it look like? Would it entail eliminating hard currency and going solely digital? Because I CANNOT agree with that ever. It is simply not secure enough.

        I do understand that these banks are holding my money for me and can cut me off whenever they like but I can only see that happening if we endured something similar to the crash in the, what, 1930’s? Does this mean the government will be running the banks? And that’s supposed to be safer, somehow?

        To reiterate, I do NOT have a mathematical mind at all! It has to be really simple for me to understand it. It has always confused me and I was only able to do financial work because I had a computer menu to follow, word-for-word.

          the last time we were at the bank, they ASKED if we wanted to participate in a new security check they were instituting. they wanted to scan our photo id into the atm system (which we use some time). the point was, if the person at the atm did not match the photo on the account, the atm would refuse service.

              5. I will say only one bank of the 2 here has a drive-thru ATM. But my bank isn’t on the system so it costs me close to $6 to use it so the only time I’d use it was in an emergency.

    The President then endorsed Kamala on his own without any outside pressure whatsoever.

    At publishing time, sources confirmed that during the address they had heard a voice that sounded strangely similar to Jill Biden’s shrieking from a nearby broom closet.
