Weird Fruits: Red Bananas

I came across this article on healthline.com on red bananas—their benefits, similarities and differences from yellow bananas.

From healthline.com:

Red bananas are rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and vitamin B6. They offer a low-calorie but high-fiber addition to meals, snacks, and desserts. Nutrients in red bananas may contribute to improved heart and digestive health when eaten as part of an overall healthy diet.

There are over 1,000 different varieties of bananas around the world. Red bananas are a subgroup of bananas from Southeast Asia with red skin. They’re soft and have a sweet flavor when ripe. Some people say they taste like a regular banana — but with a hint of raspberry sweetness. They’re often used in desserts but pair well with savory dishes, too. Red bananas provide many essential nutrients and may benefit your immune system, heart health, and digestion.

Here are 7 benefits of red bananas — and how they differ from yellow ones.

Contain Many Important Nutrients

Like yellow bananas, red bananas provide essential nutrients. They’re particularly rich in potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6 and contain a fair amount of fiber.  A small red banana only has about 90 calories and consists mostly of water and carbs. The high amounts of vitamin B6, magnesium, and vitamin C make this banana variety particularly nutrient dense.

Potassium is a mineral essential for heart health due to its role in regulating blood pressure.  Red bananas are rich in potassium — with one small fruit providing 9% of the RDI. Research shows that eating more potassium-rich foods may help reduce blood pressure.

Red bananas contain carotenoids — pigments that give the fruits their reddish peel.  Lutein and beta carotene are two carotenoids in red bananas that support eye health.

Like most other fruits and vegetables, red bananas contain powerful antioxidants. In fact, they provide higher amounts of some antioxidants than yellow bananas. Antioxidants are compounds that prevent cellular damage caused by molecules called free radicals. Excessive free radicals in your body may lead to an imbalance known as oxidative stress, which is linked to conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

 May Support Your Immune System

Red bananas are rich in vitamins C and B6. These nutrients are essential for a healthy immune system. One small red banana provides 9% and 28% of the RDIs for vitamins C and B6, respectively. Vitamin C boosts immunity by strengthening the cells of your immune system.

May Improve Digestive Health

Red bananas support your digestive system in many ways.

Contain Prebiotics

Prebiotics are a type of fiber that feeds your beneficial gut bacteria. Like yellow bananas, red bananas are a great source of prebiotic fiber.

Good Source of Fiber

One small red banana provides 3 grams of fiber — about 10% of the RDI for this nutrient.

In addition to their health benefits, red bananas are delicious and easy to eat. They’re an extremely convenient and portable snack. Due to their sweet taste, red bananas also offer a healthy way to naturally sweeten a recipe. Red bananas are also a great addition to recipes for muffins, pancakes, and homemade bread.

Red vs. Yellow Bananas

Red bananas are fairly similar to their yellow counterparts. They’re both good sources of dietary fiber and provide similarly high in calories and carbs. Though red bananas are sweeter, they have a lower GI score than yellow bananas. The GI is a scale from 0 to 100 which measures how quickly foods increase blood sugar levels. Lower GI scores indicate a slower absorption into the blood. Yellow bananas have an average GI score of 51, while red bananas score lower on the scale at roughly 45.

Red bananas are a unique fruit that provides many health benefits. They’re rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and vitamin B6. They offer a low-calorie but high-fiber addition to meals, snacks, and nourishing desserts. Among other things, the nutrients in red bananas may contribute to improved heart and digestive health when eaten as part of an overall healthy diet.

    1. Morning, Pat! A nice, cool clear day so far – temp is 68 at the moment and not as humid, thankfully. Saw an Oriole on the feeder earlier and I can hear another one out there chattering – maybe they were all hunkering down because of the storms. I got up to pee in the night and looked out on the patio – Wheezer’s dish was almost empty so I went out to get it to refill it. When I went to put it back out, there she was, hunkered down and waiting.

The red bananas look interesting and I do dearly love raspberries so I would enjoy the taste, I expect. But #1, I doubt I could find them here and #2, I don’t need my BP lowered! It’s finally up to “normal!” LOL

These auto insurance companies drive me nuts – gouge, gouge, gouge! I started out about 10 years ago and it was just under $90 twice a year for this truck. The current bill is now OVER $186 for 6 months!!!! I drive less than 150 miles a month!!! They will either give me a better rate or I’m switching to another company. What BS!!!! I had one “accident” that really wasn’t my fault but, since I was backing out of my parking spot, it automatically gets blamed on the one doing the backing. That was 4-5 years ago.

      1. Morning Filly!
it’s still cool here but clouding up quickly, I might just make my mini banana run soon…looks like it might storm.
I haven’t seen many orioles–not like before we left to see mom–but some still come to the feeder. I haven’t seen the grosbeaks at all since we’re back BUT the wild berries are ripening and the mountain is covered with those…lol
I chased a male oriole from the hummer feeder this morning and he flew right to the jelly dish–so maybe he didn’t realize it was back out?

  2. well this definitely goes in the weird file. apparently there’s a movie, game or something coming out and the Empire State Building and landmarks around NYC were draped with dragons (in the Empire State Bldg’s case–it was an inflatable one) and the banners said All Must Choose. even restaurants etc were participating. clever stunt? in the Bible, the devil is referred to many times as a dragon AND this year in china, they are celebrating the year of the …that’s right…dragon.

  3. now why would the mayor of NYC –or ANY MAYOR–need to have secret correspondence with the ccp or turkish officials????

Federal authorities have launched an investigation into New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ use of private email addresses and the unexplained loss of records from his seven trips to China. According to a source close to the investigation, as the New York Post reported, Mayor Adams employed three private email accounts to coordinate his dealings in China.

One of these trips reportedly received partial funding from the Chinese Communist Party. The private emails in question are not found on New York City’s government servers, which means significant details such as trip funding and meeting participants remain undisclosed.

It has been revealed that Adams and his top aide, Winnie Greco, who has served as director of Asian Affairs since 2022, used these private emails between 2014 and 2021 during Adams’ tenure as Brooklyn Borough President. The precise aims of the federal investigation into Adams’ China visits are currently unknown.

While the FBI has refrained from commenting on the matter, a spokesperson for Mayor Adams called for a more thorough search for the allegedly missing documents. “Our general counsel has requested the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office general counsel to correct the record, as they mistakenly stated no records were available. A more diligent search is warranted,” the spokesperson said.

The scrutiny into Mayor Adams’ trips to China follows an FBI raid on Greco’s Bronx home last February. The city’s Department of Investigation initiated a probe into Greco last November after a report by The City, a local news outlet, raised concerns about her political fundraising activities and possible misuse of her position, including receiving free housework from a city employee.

Last year, federal agents seized Mayor Adams’ cellphones and an iPad as he departed an event in Manhattan. This investigation is believed to be looking into whether Adams’ campaign colluded with the Turkish government to receive illegal contributions through intermediaries, as indicated by a warrant reported by The New York Times.

Mayor Adams has previously deflected inquiries about his alleged involvement with the Turkish government, emphasizing that he has not been formally accused of any wrongdoing. “Our administration abides by the law, and we expect all our employees to adhere to the highest ethical standards,” a spokesperson for the mayor said. “We do not comment on ongoing reviews but will fully cooperate with any investigations.”

  4. we’re understanding more and more how they rigged the election in 2020, but are no closer to FIXING the dang problem! In NY, an algorithm was added to the voter registry rolls that makes it easy to hide registrations. then if the preferred candidate is behind, they pause counting. using the algorithm they can detect “unused” registrations and “vote them” for their candidate. then unpause the counting and bingo–you win. the registrations/votes look legit because they are hidden in the voter rolls till needed.

  5. Just The News: “Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert won her primary for former Rep. Ken Buck’s seat on Tuesday night, defeating a crowded Republican primary in her new district of district 4, according to the Associated Press.

Boebert opted to switch from her district to Buck’s, who left Congress earlier this year, after she faced a tough primary in 2022. The Coloradoan said she decided to switch because she needed a new start after she faced a series of scandals in her home district, per CBS News.

The Colorado Republican also decided not to run for the special election in Buck’s district that would last for the remainder of Buck’s term. But Greg Lopez, who is the Republican nominee for the special election, did not run for the full term. If Boebert had decided to try and run in the special election, it would have opened a special election for her own seat in the third district.

The fourth district is widely regarded as more solidly Republican-leaning than the third district, and Republicans are expected to keep the seat in November.”

    ***Ukraine Bio Update***

“New report from Russian MIL, alleging that the Pentagon relocated their bioweapon operation to Africa, due to Russia’s liberation of the labs in Ukraine.

Kirillov alleges that Biden-owned Metabiota, and other intermediary NGOs, are running cover for the US State Dept and DoD, posing as a humanitarian operation, to conceal their true objective of pathogen production for Big Pharma.

Kirillov also points out that Biden-owned Metabiota, have been forced to stop operating in many countries in Africa, due to awareness of their nefarious biological activity and agenda. Also keep in mind, the founder of Biden-owned Metabiota is Ghislaine Maxwell and Clinton affiliate, Virologist Nathan Wolfe.

Later in the briefing, Kirillov also alleges the US are planning to spread disease via migratory birds. This comes after Kirillov previously alleged that the US plan to manufacture ANOTHER pandemic for the 2024 election like they did in 2020. Bird Flu comes to mind.”

Just The News: “The U.S. Army say Texas GOP Rep. Troy Nehls is not eligible for the Combat Infantryman Badge on his lapel, according to several news reports Tuesday.

Nehls served in the Army as an enlisted infantryman and as an armor and civil affairs officer from July 1988 to December 2008 – in the Wisconsin National Guard for 13 years, then in the Army Reserve for the last seven years. For both of his deployments – Iraq in 2004 and Afghanistan in 2008 – Nehls served as an officer in the civil affairs branch, according to the news outlet NOTUS.

The Army said in a statement to The Hill newspaper that it reviewed Nehls’s record in 2023 and issued a correction to a form that certifies a discharge from active duty that does not include the badge. The NOTUS report states members of Nehls’s own party have said he should not wear such a badge if he did not serve in combat.

Nehls has continued to wear the lapel badge since it came into question and reportedly said, “Go ask the Army,” when asked about the matter.

“It matters. As a former commander, it matters what you wear on your uniform,” said Rep. Ryan Zinke, a retired Navy SEAL. “And if you didn’t earn it, you shouldn’t wear it.”

Nehls’s office did not respond Tuesday for a request for comment. The congressman has previously suggested the Army’s Human Resources Command has misinterpreted the policy for the issuance of a badge.

Just the News reached out to Nehls’ office for comment but did not receive a response before press time.”

  8. Just The News: “Three Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials told NBC News on Tuesday that 50 out of 400 illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States through a human smuggling network connected to the Islamic State are still unaccounted for.

The revelation comes after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested eight men from Tajikstan in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles this month over suspected ties to the Islamic State of Iran and Syria (ISIS). Another illegal immigrant from Uzbekistan was arrested in Maryland in April over a suspected affiliation with ISIS.

The officials told NBC News that 150 of the 400 illegal immigrants have been arrested, but that 50 remain missing, and that ICE agents are looking to arrest those migrants on immigration charges. “In this case, it was the information that suggested a potential tie to ISIS because of some of the individuals involved that led us to want to take extra care,” a senior Biden administration official told NBC. “Out of an abundance of caution [we made] sure that we exercised our authority in the most expansive and appropriate way to mitigate risk because of this potential connection being made.”

The official also said ICE has been arresting people smuggled into the country through the ISIS-tied network for several months. Three DHS officials said the 400 illegal immigrants were released into the country because they were not on the government’s terrorism watch list themselves, and they did not have the concerning information about the ISIS smuggling group at the time.

Two federal officials said the administration is “not panicking” over the missing illegal migrants, but is prioritizing their arrests. Law enforcement officials are also expected to arrest other illegal immigrants that were smuggled in through the group soon. But some of the 150 who were already arrested have been deported, and others might have left the country voluntarily.

Some of the illegal immigrants who have been arrested or deported have been charged with immigration violations, but none have been charged with terrorism or terror-related offenses.”

Curtis was the favorite going into Tuesday’s primary, despite Staggs’ coveted endorsement. Curtis is considered a more moderate Republican and has been compared to Romney, because he has not shied away from challenging far-right members of his party, including Trump supporters, according to the Associated Press.

The congressman, who previously served as the mayor of Provo, Utah, was also the only candidate in the Senate Republican primary to not endorse Trump’s reelection bid for the White House.

The primary was not the only loss for Trump on Tuesday night. The former president’s pick for South Carolina’s third Congressional district lost his runoff election to a candidate endorsed by South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster, The Hill reported.”

  10. Just The News: “Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday will host a round table event featuring black American business leaders in Atlanta, Ga.

The event will be moderated by Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds and feature a number of local business owners. Dr. Ben Carson and Texas GOP Rep. Wesley Hunt are also slated to attend. The round table will take place at Rocky’s Barbershop.

“Joe Biden’s failed economy has left Black Americans behind, burdened with higher prices and lower wages. Bidenflation is disproportionately hurting Black households as Black Americans bear the brunt of higher prices,” the campaign said in a press release. “President Trump will ease the financial pressures placed on Black American households, re-establish law and order, and Make America Great Again!”

Among the planned topics will be Trump’s proposal to end taxation on tips, which the campaign said will allow hospitality workers to “keep more money in their pockets.”

The campaign this month launched its “Black Americans for Trump” coalition in a bid to win over the traditionally Democratic constituency amid signs of improving Republican prospects.

“The Biden campaign sees that President Trump is up to 23% in the polls in battleground states with Black voters, a record high that we haven’t seen in decades,” Trump Campaign Black Media Director Janiyah Thomas told Just the News at the time.

“President Trump knows that Black voters prefer lower taxes, which he delivered in his first term, and like all Americans, oppose Biden’s hiking tax rates,” Thomas added. “Ultimately, President Trump’s economic policies offered more opportunities to build generational wealth for Black families.”

Our Take: This article does a fine job of framing the doomed situation in which Bibi Netanyahu finds himself.

I should start by sharing that today it was reported that Netanyahu’s wife, Sarah, recently told the families of the hostages taken by Hamas that IDF leadership is “staging a coup” against her husband. This bizarre turn of events led to one of the fathers publicly responding by stating,

“Instead of doing everything to save lives, [Netanyahu] is spreading delusional conspiracies and is busy inciting and sowing division. If this is what the Netanyahu family thinks and this is how things are handled, what wonder is it that there’s no [hostage] deal and that the country is going up in flames? Today it’s already clear that there will be no deal and there will be no revival [for Israel] as long as Netanyahu is in power.”

    Wew, lad.

It is rather strange for Mrs. Netanyahu to say such things to bereaved families who are desperately seeking information regarding the well-being of their loved ones, hoping that they are still alive.

Netanyahu’s son, Yair—who has been criticized across the internet for hiding out in Miami, evading his expected service in the IDF—took to social media to lay blame on the IDF brass, calling out individuals by name and demanding investigations into their perceived failures.

You then also have this major Supreme Court ruling, which reverses the decades-old practice of exempting ultra-Orthodox Jews from IDF conscription, allowing their rabbinic studies to satisfy their service to the Jewish State. (The secular liberals have always been okay with this, as they didn’t want to intermix with the “religious kooks” in the barracks.)

The problem for Netanyahu, who must now decide whether to extend the draft to include the ultra-Orthodox, is that he has already been threatened on multiple occasions by the Radical Zionist ministers in his cabinet, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, who have threatened to resign if the ultra-Orthodox are conscripted. Their resignations would trigger a legal dissolving of the government, forcing new elections for all positions, including Prime Minister.

Further exacerbating Netanyahu’s gambit with Ben-Gvir are recent spats between the two over the latter’s duplicitous ambition. After War Cabinet minister Benny Gantz resigned from the government two weeks ago, compelling Netanyahu to dissolve the specially-formed war cabinet, Ben-Gvir confronted the PM and demanded that he form a new war cabinet that would include Ben-Gvir. Netanyahu responded by accusing Ben-Gvir of leaking information to the press, stating that he needed to prove his loyalty to Netanyahu before such ambitions could be satisfied.

    Me-ow.

Looming in the background of all of this madness is centrist Benny Gantz, who has remained publicly active since resigning from Netanyahu’s war cabinet, appearing at the protest in downtown Tel Aviv, where an estimated 100,000 Israeli citizens have amassed demanding that Netanyahu resign and new elections be held. Remember: Trump publicly endorsed Gantz on Israeli media after Gantz lost the 2021 election to Bibi.

If Gantz can convince Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to join his protest of Netanyahu, and resign, then Gantz has a decent chance of defeating Netanyahu in a new election, and Trump has telegraphed that Gantz will be the peacemaker for Israel. Meanwhile, the MSM is reporting that Gallant is Biden’s “inside man,” and it is widely speculated that the Biden regime is also pushing him to revolt against Netanyahu. Almost as if Biden was working for Trump …

It’s a political pincer move, which may coincide with a 9/11 disclosure that (I think) will implicate Bibi Netanyahu as a co-conspirator.

Our Take: If you build it, they will come.

The first time MBS visited the White House was in September 2015, accompanying his father, King Salman. At that point, Salman had been king for less than eight months, and MBS was merely the Defense Minister—a role that is not necessarily seen as important by DC warmongers, considering Saudi’s reliance on US military aid.

MBS was a young man of 30, likely closer in age to the pages and aides than any of the decision-makers in the room. (Surely, the Deep State cronies viewed him as a product of nepotism, dismissing him as too young to be consequential.) He caught everybody by surprise when he spoke out of turn, expressing his frustration over the Iran Nuclear Deal that had just been signed two months earlier.

The King had traveled to DC to discuss this specific issue, but nobody expected his young son to play lead negotiator.

Obama retorted with a criticism of Wahhabism, pivoting to his favorite talking points, accusing the Saudis of exporting the radical ideology across the world. MBS told the president that he did not know what he was talking about, offering to provide a Saudi scholar to tutor Obama, so he could be more informed the next time he discussed the issue in public.

The room was reportedly silent, as everybody’s jaw was on the floor.

That evening, Secretary of State John Kerry hosted an elegant dinner party at his Georgetown home. By then, people had asked around and learned that the king’s son was a bit of a homebody, refusing all offers to attend prestigious schools in Europe and the US, like all of his cousins and older half-brothers. The DC elites likely wrote him off as a desert savage, lacking refinement and pedigree.

Without asking permission, MBS calmly approached Kerry’s baby grand piano, sat down, and performed a rendition of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata that was so moving, it left the socialites speechless. The young prince explained that he could play a number of classical compositions, and was entirely self-taught. Lacking refinement, indeed.

As CIA-shill Ben Hubbard explains in his hatchet-piece-biography of MBS, during that same meeting the young prince broke into a long-winded rant about his Vision 2030, a pet project destined to transform Arabia into the cultural capital of the world. Obama was unimpressed, dismissing the diatribe as nothing more than a filibuster intended to distract from more nefarious schemes. (Obama is an idiot.)

MBS broke into a similar rant when he met with President Trump on March 20, 2018, in a televised press conference to announce an enhanced Saudi-US partnership. Trump loved the rant. (I imagine it took him back to the days of dreaming up the first Trump Tower.)

During the Royal Purge, MBS seized control of both Alwaleed bin Talal’s Kingdom Holdings—a $12B investment fund—and the Bin Laden Group, the largest construction firm in Arabia. He recruited an accomplished Dubai-based developer, Faisal bin Farhan, to serve as his Foreign Minister, and help sell his Vision to the world’s investors. He also made contact with Jared Kushner, using back-channels, before Trump was even inaugurated, making sure that the ascending President would receive a king’s welcome when he visited Riyadh in the months ahead.

These are all signs that MBS was not merely filibustering to Obama. The morons in the State Department wrote this guy off as a hot-headed nepo baby, and boy has he proven them wrong. They never saw him coming, and that’s probably why he has been so successful. — GhostofBasedPatrickHenry

  13. LABELLE, Fla. (WFTX) – A dog missing for two years after she walked away from her Maryland home was overjoyed at being reunited with her owner.

Tony Duncan says he lives in a wooded area in Mardela Springs, Maryland, and would let his dog, Luna, walk the property freely. About two years ago, Luna chased after some wildlife and vanished into the woods. Her owner looked for her but couldn’t find her.

“Been sitting, waiting and hoping for two years now that she would return… and today’s the day,” Duncan said. As it turned out, Luna somehow traveled more than 1,000 miles from her home in Maryland to LaBelle, Florida.

Duncan got an unexpected call Wednesday from LaBelle Animal Control, who found his missing dog walking in a Walmart parking lot and scanned her microchip. Luna’s owner says he and his friend cleared their schedules without hesitation, rented a car and made the 16-hour drive to LaBelle, so he could reunite with his dog.

“Well, apparently, she’s been living in Florida for two years, so she definitely knows where to vacation,” Duncan said. Duncan suspects someone may have stolen Luna and brought her to Florida, only to abandon her later. The exact details of the dog’s journey remain a mystery known only to her.

LaBelle Animal Control is emphasizing the importance of microchipping pets. They say this reunion would not have been possible without Luna’s chip.”

  14. “Assange Plea Deal Includes Free Flight Home On A Boeing”

NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS — US authorities recently confirmed that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange will finally get to end his 14-year long legal battle by accepting a plea deal which will include a complimentary flight home on a Boeing airplane, paid for by the US Department of Justice.

Sources say that the Justice Department is doing its best to make sure that Assange, a whistleblower whom the US government has been seeking to take down ever since he released thousands of confidential documents back in 2010, will be perfectly safe as he travels back to see his family.

“We’ve buried the hatchet with Assange,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland in a press conference. “He’s cool with us now — in fact, we like him so much that we want to make sure he gets home in tip-top condition, which is why we’re paying for his Boeing flight home. Nothing but the best for our pals, nothing but the best. He’ll be totally safe as he soars home on that shiny new 737 — all the best and see you on the other side, Julian me lad!”

Assange has been assured that he will be in experienced hands as he travels, as Boeing has had plenty of experience taking care of people who release sensitive information which harms a larger organization.

At publishing time, the Department of Justice had offered Edward Snowden a special plea deal with a free Boeing flight as well.

NEW MARKET, MN — Sources close to Cliff Johnson say that the father of seven was in for a horrid surprise last weekend when a tiny, pipsqueaked little punk in the backseat asked him, “Dad, isn’t speeding a sin?”

According to reports, Johnson was cruising along comfortably at 72 in a 55-mph zone when a maliciously cute little lisp from just over his shoulder piped in with an unwelcome question, causing him to immediately slow down to a snail-paced 64 miles an hour.

“What? Uh…say that again, sweetheart?” Johnson asked. “Speeding? Well, it’s kind of a gray area, you know? Like…um, well….you see, that’s a great question! Good job! Why don’t we ask Mom when we get home?”

“But Daddy, isn’t that the law? And isn’t breaking the law a sin? I thought we weren’t supposed to sin,” persisted the little brat.

At publishing time, the snot-nosed little jerk had asked him if God thinks it’s OK for us to blow through a stoplight a full three seconds after it turned red.

  18. so i went and am back from my banana run. i finally saw baby turkeys!!!

almost near the blacktop road, there was a flock of about 7 small birds running on the side of the road. I slowed down and looked for a mama–not knowing yet what they were. then they stuck their heads up in unison and i could tell they were turkeys. why they didn’t run into the grass instead of alongside it, i have no clue. then mama stepped out and chased them into the grass–one took to flying though and flew in front of my jeep and into a tree. so i stopped and made sure i knew where he was before I went on my way. as i started again he flew back across the road towards mama.

      1. I’m hoping they are not going to shoot for the moon with these decisions. if they rule every decision in favor of we the people, then the attempts to remove them will raise higher and higher till the election. and the chance of them being Saclia’ed is higher.
as long as they get the 3 big ones right, i’m okay with it for now.
if the election is fair some of this bullshit gets dealt with anyway

DC Draino on Twitter/X has a post looking for the bright spot, emphasizing that the ruling simply means that the injunction that was issued to stop the govt from interfering in free speech was ended because now

the case itself goes forward, being sent back to the lower court to continue the hearing on free speech vs the govt interference, but without the injunction – so the govt can still interfere while the hearing continues in the lower court.

Personally think the 6 justices that ruled to end the injunction to stop govt interfering with free speech are really just waiting to see who wins the 2024 election, and when the case comes back to them, which it will, they will rule by kowtowing to the politics of the day in some sort of self-preservation move.

            I miss my country already.

            Just read on Truth:
            @DC_Draino
There is a lot of doom and gloom about the 6-3 SCOTUS decision in Murthy v. Biden and how it impacts the 1st Amendment
I would like to quell some of those concerns
This decision reversed the injunction based on *standing*
SCOTUS said that without the plaintiffs having sufficient standing, they could not decide the case on the merits
The case is still allowed to proceed *on the merits* in lower federal courts as to whether the gov’t violated the plaintiff’s 1st Amendment right to free speech on social media
Long story short, this battle for free speech rights is NOT over and SCOTUS will likely get further involved down the road

  21. EXCERPT: “Julian Assange raised his fist to the air after touching down in Australia as a free man. In emotional scenes in Canberra, Mr. Assange embraced his family, including wife Stella, and waved to his supporters.

Supporters cheered as Mr. Assange emerged from the plane. The 52-year-old waved at those watching on from the airport fence with shouts of “welcome home.” Among those greeting him was his father John Shipton, who hugged his son before he gave one final wave and entered a nearby building.

Stella Assange said in a news conference on Wednesday: “Today we celebrate Julian’s freedom. Julian needs time to recover, to get used to freedom. Someone told me yesterday…freedom comes slowly and I want Julian to have that space to rediscover freedom slowly, and quickly.”

She added that Mr. Assange will aim to seek a pardon to the charge “when the time comes” and he “remains deeply principled and unafraid.”

Mr. Assange’s lawyer Jennifer Robinson said that his release is a “huge win for free speech” and the WikiLeaks team is “absolutely thrilled” he is now home. Ms. Robinson said the first person to call Mr. Assange when he touched down in Australia was Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

“Julian thanked him and then told the prime minister that he had saved his life,” Ms. Robinson said in the conference. She added: “It’s important that journalists understand a dangerous precedent has been set. This is a huge win for Australia and Australian democracy, and a huge win for free speech.”

The WikiLeaks founder was accused of receiving and publishing hundreds of thousands of war logs and diplomatic cables that included details of US military wrongdoing in Iraq and Afghanistan. He pleaded guilty to one charge, bringing to an end a years-long case over the publication of classified documents involving US military secrets.

More than 56,000 users were tracking the flight on online tracker FlightRadar24 as it landed in the capital Canberra at 7.37pm local time (10.37am UK)…..”

        1. agreed. but he makes some good points though. why would the US make this deal at all? it wouldn’t unless it had gotten everything out of him. they need Australia’s cooperation.
he’s very dangerous to the deep state–unless he gave up everything he had.

The 2nd Supreme Court ruling today, Snyder v United States, 6-3, majority written by Kavanaugh

Snyder, former mayor of Portage, Indiana was sued for accepting a gratuity. Federal law had made it a crime that members of the fed. govt and employees could not accept bribes or gratuities and eventually made that law applicable to state and local public officials.

The ruling says yes, bribes are illegal, but gratuities are okay. Bribes being something paid before a govt official takes action, gratuities are received after actions taken.

      No Fischer or immunity today.

Last decision announced today is Snyder v US.

Appears that those speculating SCOTUS will act in a political manner and withhold both key decisions until after the debate are probably right.

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) – The Idaho Department of Water Resources has confirmed a settlement has been reached between the Surface Water Coalition and groundwater districts for the 2024 irrigation season.

While the deal was only approved by the Idaho Department of Water Resources Thursday, many of the east Idaho farmers are wasting no time making up the hours they lost over the past few weeks.

Bingham County farmer Shaun VanOrden said he nearly lost a third of this year’s harvest when the water was cut off.

“It was devastating,” Bingham county farmer Shaun VanOrden told Local News 8. “You know, we were scrambling, trying to make plans, talking to the bank, seeing what could be done if there’s ways to buy water outside of of the district or what, you know, what we could do personally. Those options were really not on the table,” he said.

With the new agreement brokered by Governor Brad Little, VanOrden is now playing catch up.

    https://localnews8.com/news/2024/06/20/there-is-still-work-to-do-farmers-moving-forward-after-water-curtailment-cancelled/

What kind of government allows something like this to happen to the farmers in the first place? It isn’t over yet.

I really suspect this is part of the coordinated attacks on McDonald’s, because McDonald’s is known for two things, beef burgers and fries.

Anyone who has passed a high school physics course understands Newton’s 3rd Law of motion, which states that for every action, there will be an equal and opposite reaction. This is applicable to the governing dynamics of Earth’s atmosphere too. Any area of “unusual” (relative to an arbitrary climatic average) warmth is going to be balanced by an area of “unusual” cold. The 2-meter air temperature anomaly (i.e., departure from average) map for the last five days below conveys this quite well. The Upper Plains and Canadian Prairies have been averaging generally some 6-12°F below average, while the Great Lakes, Ontario, Quebec and New England have been 6-12°F above the 1991-2020 average. The entire map area anomaly? 0.5°F. Time for a vision test. If the entire map were colored according to that value, what color would it be? No takes? White. While slightly above average, yes, it’s not at all significant. As I said, nature seeks a local equilibrium point (albeit it is never quite achieved; if this world were in equilibrium, nothing would ever happen). But, did you know that western North America is quite cool relative to average of late? No. Why? Because the news media would rather fixate on the heatwave in the eastern U.S. and southeastern Canada to spread fear over typical summer weather. That’s essentially what it boils down to.

  26. “Prison Camps for Political Dissidents in All 50 States — Over a hundred million Americans say that civil war is coming”

    GREG REESE, JUN 26, 2024

“In a recent interview with Clayton Morris on Redacted, US Border Patrol agent turned filmmaker, J.J. Carrell, discussed his new documentary and the fact that prison facilities are being built in all fifty states to hold millions of political dissidents.

“And there's detention facility bids. Bids to build individual detention facilities in every state in the Union. And then she goes on to say to me, well, who do you think they're built for? And she says, in this interview, they’re for dissidents. American dissidents." ~ J.J. Carrell

The FEMA camps were reported decades ago. This was never an outrageous conspiracy theory. The US government has been framing American patriots as the enemy for decades. And the reason should be obvious, those who have been in control of the US government for generations have no interest in serving the people in accordance to the Constitution or otherwise. Our country is being destroyed from within and the rule of law has been weaponized against those who defend it.

Hundreds of innocent Americans have been arrested and thrown in jail because they chose to peacefully protest the 2020 stolen election. And others such as Jeremy Brown, a Green Beret who was approached in late 2020 by Federal agents trying to recruit him for the Jan 6 false flag operation, was arrested after going public with this information by the same Federal agents. He was put in maximum security prison where he remains to this day, his one-thousandth day in Federal prison.

Hundreds of innocent Americans have been in jail for years. And several have been tortured. Much of America is okay with the fact that hundreds are rotting in jail for a peaceful protest. It’s already become the norm. While it’s definitely worth celebrating the release of Julian Assange, the American people have never been more divided.

The Daily Mail reports that “more than 40 per cent of Americans think a new civil war will be fought within the next decade.” According to one poll, “more than four-in-ten US voters say the country is likely to get ripped apart in a second civil war within five years.” And another shows that over a hundred million Americans say that civil war is coming.

Based on the recommendation of think tank, Policy Horizons, Canada has been preparing for an American civil war including cyber-attacks and grid failures following the 2024 presidential election.

The soldiers of the New World Order are not going to die easy. They are apparently willing to spark a nuclear conflict with Russia and are already writing new laws to bring back the draft.“So women have never been required to register for the draft. But that could soon change thanks to lawmakers on Capitol Hill.”

“Martha, good morning. The Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act, which sets out military national security priorities, would require women to register for selective service. It concludes, quote, ‘this is a necessary and fair step, making it possible to draw on the talent of a unified nation in a time of national emergency.’ Now, there are two different versions of this bill, one in the House one in the Senate, so it's possible women in the draft could get dropped as lawmakers iron out the differences.” ~ FOX NEWS

So while women may get dropped from this bill, our government is bringing back the draft while provoking a major war with Russia. They have their bunkers and they’ve already jailed hundreds for protesting an election, so they’ll definitely jail draft dodgers and everyone else who stands in their way. Unless we unite against them.”

  27. Well, I talked to my auto insurance agent – she is very nice and understanding. She’s found me a quote for $140/bi-annual with Progressive and she is contacting a friend who represents American Family Insurance to send me a quote from them. I told her I was about to go back to horse-and-buggy days and she said something about feeding them – my commentary had her LOL’ing. And, as always, I apologized for being a cantankerous old bitch! 😁😁😁
