June is traditionally the month we think about brides and weddings, but more and more brides are becoming bridezillas–terrible tyrants intent on being the star of the day and ruining the day for everyone else. I went in search of bridezilla stories. Here’s what I found on Good Housekeeping:
In some ways, we get it — on their big day, brides want things to go their way. Considering all the money that it takes to throw a wedding, you’d be peeved if your flowers showed up the fuchsia instead of blush, too. The following brides, however, took things a step (okay, 50 steps) too far. Forget pre-wedding stress and day-of jitters — when you straight up host tryouts for your bridal party (yep), you become a member of an elite squad also known as the special (worst-ever) bridezillas unit. These are their stories.
This bride expected all bridesmaids to be brunette on her big day.
The sole red-head in this bridezilla’s wedding party was pretty uncomfortable after she was told (by the bride, of course!) to dye her naturally ginger locks brown. Why? Red was too “attention-grabbing” and would “clash with the wedding colors.” The worst part though was when the bride exerted her totalitarian power and told this poor woman that “brides get a veto over pretty much every aspect of her bridesmaids’ appearances.” Direct quote.

And this one wanted her bridesmaids to chip in for her *dream* wedding dress.
No. Like, just no, right? After obsessing over the smallest minutiae (the groomsmen’s buttonholes for example) and dragging her bridesmaids to three consecutive weekends of wedding dress shopping, this bride-to-be said yes to a way over budget $10,500 dress. To offset overspending, the bride then asked her bridesmaids to pitch in for the gown, saying that the day would be that much more special if they directed contributed to her happiness.
If you’re unsure about who to have in your bridal party, just host an auction! (No. Don’t.)
A month out from her wedding, this bride still didn’t have a bridal party. So, naturally, as bridezillas do, she sent out invites to multiple women, inviting them to an auction — the six highest bidders would be selected as bridesmaids. We first heard this gem of a story on Reddit, where the bride’s sister (clearly the sensible one) told all, describing her sister as a spoiled high-riser. Apparently, there was also a separate auction for the maid of honor slot. Worst bridezilla in the history of weddings? Sold, to this girl!

No show guests? Bill ’em.
After a couple didn’t show up to her wedding (their babysitter fell through last minute and the wedding was no-kids), this bride sent them an invoice for two herb-crusted walleye fish entrees, including tax and service charges. Honestly, we kind of get this one — the couple never notified the newlyweds or sent a gift, which is, at the end of the day, really wrong. On the bride’s end, sending an invoice to no-show guests is something you may want to do, but is also probably something you shouldn’t act on.
This “health guru” wanted ALL of her guests to “detox” for three weeks before the wedding.
Yep, wouldn’t want any of those nasty toxins to cramp this totally-chill bride’s happily ever after. Her small, tiny request? According to a press release, she “hopes that by requesting her guests try out a vegan and subsequently live food diet for 21 days, everyone will look and feel their best for HER big day.” I’m sorry, what?

The price of being in this bridal party? Free labor.
As in, this bride wants everyone to take home fruit preserves as wedding favors, but wants her bridesmaids to drive to an orchard two hours away and spend all day picking said fruit. Jury’s out on whether or not she asked them to make jam. This Reddit user explained that it got worse, though: “She wants custom embroidery added to all the bridesmaid’s dresses — but she wants the bridesmaids to embroider them.” Right, because we’re all a bunch of seamstresses!
This bridezilla kicked two bridesmaids out of her wedding and then tried to poach their dresses.
After having a full blown meltdown — she accused people of not being “happy enough” that she was getting married — and screaming that her bridesmaids were purposefully making themselves “uglier” to ruin her day, this bride kicked two of her bridesmaids out. (They sound pretty lucky to us.) When the bride went to go pick up the bridesmaid dresses, she called the women up in hysterics, saying that she was two short (she was going to use the dresses her ex-bridesmaids had paid for as her replacements). Those smart gals had called David’s Bridal and refunded their orders. Justice was served that day.

Nothing says “I won” like winking at the best man, who hates your guts, at the altar.
It’s never cute when the bride and the best man don’t get along, but this lady took it a little too far. She knew that her now-husband’s best friend wasn’t too keen on him marrying her, so she got a little payback at the altar. Wait, you just have to read Reddit user @dbay_com’s firsthand account: “The ceremony went fine but I was pretty weirded out when she looks over at me and winks as soon as my buddy gets done saying his vows. ‘I won’ is what she was saying to me.” SO CREEPY.
When the wedding is more like the contest for Pantone’s Color of the Year.
Obsessed with having her nuptials featured on a popular wedding blog, this bride gave actual Pantone swatches to her bridesmaids so they could perfectly coordinate accessories and makeup. She took it even further when she sent out a PDF, listing ideal color combinations and fabrics, to all attending guests. She got featured on that wedding blog (good for her?), but man, that’s ridiculous.
Bride makes bridesmaids weigh-in and lose/gain weight, earning her the title of Evilest Bridezilla Ever.
You know who doesn’t deserve bridesmaids? Brides that make their bridal party step on the scale: “Weigh-ins will begin in 3 weeks. I for one would really like some time after Thanksgiving to make my body forget about what it consumed, so I thought I would give you guys some cushion room,” she wrote in an email. Oh don’t worry, she got meaner: “No-one can be skinnier than the bride. That means Kelly and Lizzie will be on a protein weight-gainer diet exclusively until May. I will have the nutritionist call you to discuss diet plans. ” Kelly and Lizzie? YOU ARE FINE.

Morning, Pat! 75 and still humid here this morning w/no wind at all; the overnight storms never materialized but there are still some dark clouds in the east, while it’s clear to the west. Forecast has some possible rain later today, 40% chance. Temps are supposed to drop, thankfully, with more rain Thursday and a high of only 76.
Ah, yes, bridezillas! That was definitely NOT me! I wasn’t even allowed to pick out my own dress or my maid-of-honor the first time nor was I allowed to wear white. My 2nd was the only “normal” wedding and I found a gorgeous dress for only $200; I think my 2 bridesmaids’ dresses cost about $75. My 3rd was a visit to the Justice of the Peace on the spur of the moment, after which we went and hung out in the mess hall at Ft. Myer. But we had a rip-roaring party at our favorite local bar (The Branding Iron) that night. And I wore a bright red dance-hall style floor-length dress for my 4th, which was at the CH in Madison here in NE. I found it for $60 at the second-hand store. Hubby and best man did wear a tux, tho.

Morning Filly!
I never count my first wedding (being raped and forced to marry the man isn’t a wedding)
anyway when i married hubby, i made my gown (it was white and i added tiny pink bows on the bottom edge to appease my mom. it cost less than $80)
but when we went dress shopping for my matron of honor and the bridesmaids, i merely said I would like then to be pink or in the pinkish family. I didn’t care if they were all different–whatever style they felt best in. the matron chose a longer flowing skirt bottom, the other two actually liked the same dress–more of a jacket top with a shorter skirt. i didn’t insist on matching shoes or jewelry–none of that.

teens pretend to be ICE to rob illegals
Two teens have been arrested for allegedly pretending to be federal law enforcement agents while targeting and robbing Hispanic people in Orange County and elsewhere in the Western United States.
Laurentiu Baceanu and Vasile Alexandru, both 19, were arrested Thursday night about five hours after a pair of robberies in Anaheim were reported, the Anaheim Police Department said in a news release.
Investigators discovered that in both robberies, “the suspects approached the victims, identified themselves as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents, demanded cash from the victims, and then fled in a blue SUV,” the release said.
Officers found the suspects’ blue Audi Q7 SUV in Fullerton and took Baceanu and Alexandru into custody.
They were booked into APD’s jail on multiple charges, including several robbery counts, and they are being held without bail, police said. Jail records show Baceanu is being held at the Theo Lacy Facility, while Alexandru did not appear in a search.
Investigators believe “Alexandru and Baceanu have committed similar robberies in Anaheim, Orange County, and the Western United States” targeting Hispanic people using a badge to pretend to be law enforcement before “demanding the victim’s property.”
In addition to the Audi SUV, they also used a silver or gray Volkswagen Atlas SUV, police said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Robbery Detective John Carey at 714-765-1973 or JCarey@anaheim.net, the Robbery-Major Assaults Detail at 714-765-1947 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or occrimestoppers.org.

very good question, sidestepped by the prosecutors…who released the names of the agents involved
FTA
As part of his argument, the prosecutor noted several FBI agents involved in the raid had their names made public. When Cannon asked who made those names public, he would not say, but claimed the prosecution was aware. The judge was seemingly irritated by the response, and questioned why the prosecution wouldn’t come forward with that information, allowing for the person who released the names to be prosecuted.

EXCERPT: “…..The White Coat Waste Project, a nonprofit dedicated to rooting out dangerous, wasteful or animal-harming scientific research, said the new inspector general report unmasks a system of malaise that has failed to track research that is funded by the U.S. and in the hands of a foreign nation controlled by the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army that could one day do Americans harm.
“The DoD is shipping tax dollars to China to institutions connected to the CCP, the PLA, and they are not following the money once it gets there. And they have no idea how our tax dollars are being spent,” Justin Goodman, senior vice president at the White Coat Waste Project, told the “Just the News, No Noise” television show.
Goodman added that the loosely tracked Pentagon research funding is part of a larger federal scientific push with agencies like the National Institutes of Health that sends money “to laboratories and virus hunting programs all around the world to collect these viruses that are out in nature, that humans in some cases would never have contact with, and brings them in the laboratory to supercharge them.”
“They would claim (the work is) for bio defense, but I think anyone with a brain at this point knows that this is bio weapons development and we’re footing the bill for it,” he added.
The dynamic of loose tracking has been laid bare for two years. The GAO reported Sept. 29, 2022 that the full extent of funding provided to Chinese entities is not known due to data limitations in federal subaward reporting requirements.
“Throughout our review, we discovered significant constraints with the accessibility and comprehensiveness of data housed within, or maintained by, the DoD’s information systems,” it noted. “These limitations hindered our ability to conduct a thorough examination of DoD funds allocated for research activities, including those activities related to enhancement of pathogens of pandemic potential.”
The IG said Pentagon officials insisted they “did not actively participate in or knowingly fund research or experiments that could have reasonably resulted in the enhancement of pathogens of pandemic potential from 2014 through 2023.”
But the report said the ability to ensure that wasn’t happening was sorely lacking. “The full extent of DoD funds provided to Chinese research laboratories or other foreign countries for research related to enhancement of pathogens of pandemic potential is unknown,” the report said.”

“U.S. Cluster Bombs Kill Russian Children at Beach: The Russians are livid, but it barely even makes the news here”
MATT BIVENS, M.D., JUN 25, 2024
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The war in Ukraine is escalating now with terrifying rapidity.
This past Sunday, Ukrainian forces fired five U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles — carrying U.S.-supplied cluster bombs — at the Crimean city of Sevastopol. The exact target is unclear. But as Russian air defenses shot them down, one of the missiles with its multiple cluster bomblets accidentally rained down upon Russian families enjoying a day at the beach, killing at least four people (including two children) and injuring more than 150.
Earlier that same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been calling publicly, again, for permission to use those ATACMS to strike into Russian territory. Zelensky had cited the Ukrainian civilians killed this same weekend in Kharkiv by Russian airstrikes. (Yes, bombs rained down on both Russian and Ukrainian civilians this Trinity Sunday — also known as Pentecost, and the day on which both the Russian and Ukrainian Orthodox churches say the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles of Jesus.)
Throughout the war until, apparently, this weekend, the United States had been refusing permission to hit Russian territory with long-range ATACM missiles. From The New York Times this same Sunday:
The Times reported that, while the U.S. government had lifted earlier restrictions on firing some of our missiles into Russian territory, so far that “does not apply to the use of Army Tactical Missile Systems, known as ATACMS.”
Did we finally green-light such an attack this same Sunday that Zelensky again asked for it? And did Ukraine within hours immediately launch U.S. missiles, carrying U.S. cluster bombs, and guided by U.S. targeting satellites, at the Russians? (Or perhaps we don’t count Crimea as “Russian territory”?)
The U.S. government has not commented, other than to say Ukraine picks its own targets. But the Russian government says those missiles require active U.S. guidance to launch, and their anti-American rhetoric has soared. The Kremlin spokesman on Monday told reporters the United States is now implicated in “killing Russian children” at the beach with cluster bombs.
“The involvement of the United States, the direct involvement, as a result of which Russian civilians are killed, cannot be without consequences,” the Kremlin spokesman said, adding that “time will tell what these will be.” That same message was echoed by other top defense and foreign ministry leadership and is clearly a hardening, new Russian position.
Dmitry Medvedev — the only other living former president of Russia, by the way — wrote on Telegram: “Bastards from the U.S.A. are supplying [Ukrainian forces] with cluster munitions and helping guide them to their targets,” and expressed his hope that both the Americans and Ukrainians involved “will burn in hell” and, if possible, “even sooner — in an earthly fire.”
(Someday, Vladimir Putin will leave the Russian presidency. Who will take over for him? Someone like Medvedev?)
The Russians summoned the U.S. Ambassador to Moscow to tell her formally that Russia will now retaliate against the United States over this. The Russians told our ambassador that America is “waging a hybrid war against Russia and has actually become a party to the conflict,” and therefore, “retaliatory measures will definitely follow.”
And yet all of this has barely been reported in America. The New York Times buried news of this — of U.S.-supplied-and-guided missiles raining U.S. cluster bombs onto a Russian beach and killing children — in paragraph 21 of a report focused more on something else (on a similarly horrific — and possibly unrelated? — series of terror attacks this same weekend in Russian Dagestan).
So, here we are, on the eve of the coming long, hot summer of 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered peace negotiations — from a position of strength, by the way, with the Russian military forces in Ukraine now far larger than when the war began. The Russians are right now winning the war. U.S. President Joe Biden could accept that peace talks offer, and we could see a ceasefire and negotiations almost immediately.
Instead, our response has been to have our Ukrainian proxies escalate the war. The Russian public is now looking at videos of panicked families fleeing a beach, carrying injured or dead relatives on beach lounge chairs, and is being told, “America did this.”

US Supreme Court Still Has 6 Blockbuster Rulings To Issue
Our Take: The Court announced Monday that they may announce opinions on Wednesday (June 26), Thursday (June 27), and Friday (June 28) of this week.
The past two weeks they’ve released opinions on Thursdays and Fridays, but they’re running out of time. There are still 14 cases — six of them high profile — outstanding before the court, which traditionally releases all opinions in a session by the end of June.
That means there is a chance that the SCOTUS decision on Presidential Immunity may drop on debate day. Can you imagine? I hope Justice Thomas delivers the opinion for extra impact. — Ashe in America

Just The News: “A New York judge on Tuesday partially lifted a gag order on Donald Trump following his conviction last month in his so-called hush money trial.
The revised order now allows Trump, the presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee, to speak publicly about witnesses in the case. However, the order keeps ion place restrictions on his comments about individual prosecutors and others involved in the case.
Trump was found guilty on 34 criminal charges for falsifying business records to pay hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels, to conceal from the public during his 2016 presidential campaign her alleged sexual encounter from with him.
Trump’s lawyers argued the gag order was stifling his campaign speech, and said it might limit his ability to respond to attacks from Democratic President Joe Biden during their coming debate on June 27, according to Reuters.
Prosecutors with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office said limits on Trump’s speech about trial witnesses were no longer needed. But they urged Justice Juan Merchan to keep in place restrictions on his comments about jurors, court staff and individual prosecutors, citing risks to their safety, the wire service also reports.”

More evidence of our justice system slanting left under President Joe Biden.
A pro-Hamas protester from New York, Ruben Arthur Camacho, was sentenced to just 48 hours of community service for punching a female cop during a riot outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters in November.
“Police said Camacho slammed a female officer against a wall and punched her in the face. Camacho was charged with one count of assault on a police officer, which is a felony offense,” the Post Millennial reported on Sunday.
The officer was one of six police officers injured during the riot.
Camacho “also resisted arrest and blocked an exit used by federal lawmakers during the riot, according to court documents.” Yet, no jail time and just 48 hours of community service.
The Post Millennial added, “Camacho escaped federal prosecution and was charged in DC Superior Court by DC US Attorney Matthew Graves. This is the same Biden-appointed prosecutor who has been arresting J6 protesters on charges including assault on police.”

She’s a leftist judge from what I can tell, which is not a good thing for Trump:
“A Manhattan judge shot down an impassioned plea by a prosecutor to jail a parolee on a murder indictment in the fatal mugging of a 66-year-old man, The Post has learned.
“Obviously, Your Honor, it’s an A-1 felony,” Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Junig told Judge April Newbauer at suspect Eugene Clark’s arraignment Thursday.
Clark, 54, was previously indicted on charges of assault and grand larceny for the violent robbery of Ramon Luna on Sept. 20, 2020, authorities said. Luna was knocked to the ground by a single punch allegedly thrown by Clark and was beaten by the parolee and two others, causing brain bleeds the put him into a coma.
Luna clinged to life for 11 months before dying last August, spurring a superseding indictment for Clark on a second degree murder charge. “This is a very serious case and the defendant is facing significant prison time,” Junig said, according to a transcript obtained by The Post. “The defendant is a violent predicate felon, “He has two felony convictions, sixteen misdemeanor convictions and eight prior failures to appear in court.”
—————
Clark’s defense attorney requested ankle monitoring, arguing his client had made every court appearance in past 18 months.
“One thing you should also know is that there is a strong argument that he is not the person that even caused this person’s death,” said attorney Steven Hoffner. “We have retained a doctor who apparently believes, who I believe will be stating that the kick may have been one of the reasons this individual died.”
The ADA also argued that Clark had missed multiple court dates before being put away for armed robbery for 10 years back in the early 2000s.
Judge Newbauer sided with the defense, cutting him loose and on electronic monitoring. “I will advise the defendant, that if he does not come back to court and remain law-abiding while this evaluation is being done I will set monetary bail on the next court appearance,” she said.”

Did anyone see over at The Gateway Pundit that the Jack Smith crew had to admit to the Court that they switched off the security cameras at MAL for about 30 minutes? Plenty of time to plant “documents with classified markings” in their documents they allegedly retrieved from MAL. So another stinkaroo for Black Jack and his pirates.
