To trap fruit flies

Fruit flies can be pests, and it’s really easy to use apple cider vinegar to make a cheap fruit fly trap. Simply pour some apple cider vinegar into a cup, add a few drops of dish soap (so that any trapped flies sink), and you’re good to go.

To boil better eggs

Adding vinegar to the water you use to boil or poach eggs can help you produce consistently good eggs. This is because the protein in egg whites firms up more quickly when exposed to a more acidic liquid. When you’re poaching eggs, you want the egg whites to firm up as quickly as possible so the eggs keep their shape. Using vinegar when boiling eggs can also speed up the coagulation, or clotting, of the egg whites. This can be useful if the shell cracks while the egg is being boiled.

As a marinade

Another way to use apple cider vinegar when cooking is to make a marinade. In fact, apple cider vinegar is a popular ingredient in many steak marinades. This is because it gives meat a nice sweet-and-sour flavor. Combine it with wine, garlic, soy sauce, onion, and cayenne pepper to give your steak a delicious flavor.

To wash fruits and vegetables

Pesticide residue on fruits and vegetables can be a concern for many people. That’s why some people like to wash their fruits and vegetables in apple cider vinegar. The hope is that it’ll remove more of the chemical residues than water alone. In the bath

For the same reasons people like using apple cider vinegar as a homemade facial toner, they also like using it in the bath. If you want to try it, add 1–2 cups of apple cider vinegar to your bath water and enjoy a soak in your tub. Be sure to dilute the vinegar adequately. A larger proportion of vinegar might irritate your skin.

    it’s about 60* here and cloudy–thin clouds at the moment. it rained very hard last night and it’s very windy here yet.
    I changed out the hummer feeders this morning and when i took out the jelly feeder, a grosbeak was sitting on the railing eek eek-ing and he didn’t move while i tied it to the railing. I’ve noticed the orioles are letting him eat first now.

    1. Morning, Pat! A super muggy 76 here this morning – yuck! And windy, windy, windy! I had to take everything down last night – the gusts of wind woke me up periodically thru the night. Clear at the moment but that will change later, I have no doubt – rain, rain and more rain in the forecast. I put the feeders back up about an hour ago with still no Orioles in sight – protesting perhaps? LOL – or maybe just brooding on their nests for now.

      Wheezer’s dish was empty this morning but she showed up within 5 minutes of me refilling it. She is sooooo skinny – I’m going to call the local vet clinic today and see if I can talk them into letting me get some wormer for her w/o bringing her in.

        1. They tend to take a while to return after the feeder hasn’t been out for a long period of time, like last night; add on that they are on their nests now and it is understandable. I did see one female a little while ago.

Frankly, I believe Xi. This is the same playbook the US used for Ukraine. The Casus Belli. The US put military forces all around their enemy’s border, and then cry victim when they get attacked. This way, the US can justify the war they wanted, and garner public support by making it look like they are acting in “defense”, when the US are the ones who brought their armies/weapons to Russia and China’s borders.     so farmers go out of business and the US loses important food supplies–BUT we can thwart chyna by mining the land for rare earth elements. and who benefits from that, I wonder. would it be those sneaky ass congress people who managed to buy the mining companies and rights?

    We attempted to acquire a copy of the book for a review. Unsurprisingly, the publishing team kept early copies at a close hold, while dishing out select vignettes to “reporters” who they knew would dutifully follow select narratives.

    2. Fauci doesn’t care about money. He cares about ruling over you, I mean, “working to fight infectious diseases.”

    As many of you surely understand, I just can’t bring myself to purchase a copy and therefore support the single most destructive non-head of state force of the 21st century. So there will be no official review. However, it’s worth setting the stage.

    According to the New York Post, Fauci received a $5 million advance for his memoir. The memoir is dysfunctionally titled, “On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service.”

    Let’s start with the title.

    Fauci spent his entire career as a government bureaucrat and probably has not been “on call” since the years of his residency, though he often tells the press otherwise. The former NIAID chief repeatedly tells corporate media churnalists, without evidence, that he’s had lots of one-on-one time with patients. “I pride myself in having been — with all due modesty — a fantastically good clinician,” he told The Washington Post in 2022. Far from being “on call,” Fauci’s publicly visible non-bureaucrat work amounts to visiting gay bath houses during the HIV/AIDS crisis and watching Ebola patients from within a hazmat suit, for photo-op purposes.

    Not even the most morally depraved bad guys believe that they are in fact the bad guys. And Fauci, who often likens himself to a deity, is the perfect example of that. In “On Call,” you’re sure to find 480 more pages of a man who not only defends the anti-human atrocities he advanced, but advocates for their perpetual use into the future.

    In all likelihood, one of the most evil men in American history is going to get away with it. All of it. He may escape justice during his time on earth. But perhaps his soul will not be granted the same treatment in the afterlife.

    But the Covid era isn’t just about Fauci. It’s about all of the people and institutions that empowered Faucism. It’s about the reality that the noxious force that is Fauci was empowered and celebrated every step of the way. For our nation and our culture to truly heal, we must rid ourselves and our institutions of the ideologies that spawned and encouraged such depravity and evil.

    EXCERPT: “Three teenage girls were alone in their Lawrence County, Kentucky home one hot summer day in 2019. Suddenly, a white car pulled up and two men got out. One man started kicking in the front door. The second suspect circled around to the backyard and began breaking out a window with a shovel. The youngest of the girls, who was 14-years old at the time, found and loaded the family’s 9mm pistol and fired a round at one of the suspects, who both quickly left.

    In 2021, a 12-year-old boy armed himself after two masked home invaders broke into his grandmother’s home demanding money. One of the suspects shot the 73-year-old woman, which prompted the youth to return fire in self-defense. Police later found one of the suspects curled up on his side in an intersection near the home. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The grandmother survived her wounds.

    In February, a 14-year-old Houston-area teen fired six rounds at an intruder who was trying to break into his home through the front door. Police found the suspect, who was wearing gloves and carrying a backpack, in the front yard where he was pronounced dead.

    None of these defensive gun usages or any others were even mentioned in a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which purported to examine firearm storage data behaviors. Defensive gun usages weren’t the only data set omitted from the report. The CDC needed so many disclosures and disclaimers to tell readers what other data was missing from its research that it’s a miracle the report even was published.

    The report, titled “Firearm Storage Behaviors — Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Eight States, 2021–2022,” was based on telephone interviews. The researchers called the respondents using a “random-digit–dialed landline and mobile telephone survey.” However, the authors immediately encountered four significant problems that limited the validity of their work:

    1. They were unable to determine whether firearms were stored loaded or unloaded during the phone interviews.
    2. They were only able to obtain data from the eight states, which is statistically meaningless.
    3. Some respondents did not want to disclose whether they had a firearm in their home.
    4. All of the data was self-reported to the researchers, and therefore “subject to social desirability and recall biases.”

    As a result, the findings were statistical gibberish. In the handful of states that participated, the authors concluded, “18.4% – 50.6% of respondents reported the presence of a firearm in or around their home, and 19.5% – 43.8% of those with a firearm reported that at least one firearm was stored loaded.”

    Despite its holes, lack of conclusiveness and other problems, the CDC report was good enough for the corporate media. Gannett’s flagship newspaper USA TODAY quickly published a story titled, “Startling percentage of homes have unlocked, loaded guns, endangering kids, study finds.” ……..

Officials in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin have all cited instances raising concerns about voter registration practices, ballot counting, and chain of custody.

    The far-left, Democrat-aligned non-profit Public Wise has accused 334 state and local officials of being election deniers and working to ‘undermine democracy.’ However, an examination of the actual claims being made by the state and local election officials reveals legitimate concerns about the security and integrity of the U.S. elections. In at least two of the jurisdictions listed by Public Wise, officials have correctly called into question well-documented election irregularities and potential illegalities.

    FULTON COUNTY, GEORGIA 

    One of the officials listed by Public Wise is Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones (R), who opposed the certification of the  2024 presidential election results in Fulton County, Georgia. The National Pulse reported in May that an investigation by Georgia election officials found that Fulton County had implemented improper procedures during its 2020 presidential election recount.

    The inquiry was prompted by a complaint lodged on July 8, 2022, alleging the inappropriate count of 17,852 ballots. Consequently, the investigation revealed not only duplicate ballot images—implying probable multiple scanning of some ballots—but also that thousands of ballot images are missing. In late May, Julie Adams, a Republican member of the Fulton County, Georgia, Board of Elections, filed a lawsuit against the county’s election director, Nadine Williams, alleging she barred state officials from accessing critical election information during this year’s primary election.

    MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA

    In Arizona, another state that Public Wise claims is being nefariously influenced by conservative election officials, Maricopa County faces an ongoing lawsuit for continuing to violate state election law. The plaintiffs allege county officials failed to maintain the mandatory chain of custody for ballots, resulting in a discrepancy of over 25,000 votes. Razor-thin margins decided several 2022 state-wide races. The gubernatorial contest saw just 17,117 votes separate now-Governor Katie Hobbs (D) from Kari Lake (R).

    NONCITIZENS IN NORTH CAROLINA

    Meanwhile, in North Carolina, the issue of noncitizen voters has even drawn federal attention, with Department of Justice (DOJ) attorneys undertaking an extensive investigation into the occurrence, resulting in multiple prosecutions. the National Pulse reported federal prosecutors have brought charges against 27 noncitizens who voted in North Carolina’s 2016 dlection. By a three-to-one ratio, these individuals supported Democrats over Republican candidates.

    The noncitizens cast 99 ballots in multiple elections dating back as far as 1996. Most of the noncitizen voters only participated in federal elections, with only a handful of ballots cast in local races.”

      1. he is my sister’s only child and both she and my brother in law are gone. My nephew was unfortunate enough to be the one who found his father dead on the floor. he feels adrift somewhat. he was always a loner (he didn’t go out with his friends much growing up, insisting on staying at home to be with my sister who was confined to a wheelchair.)
        After my sister passed, it looked like the 2 of them would get a chance to do some father/son things together but that didn’t happen either.
        after he married, they found a house with a separate entrance for my brother in law and he was going to move in with them. my nephew was over the moon happy about that. then tragedy struck. he’s not really recovered and it’s been years.
        his wife is very nice, but there’s an emptiness inside him i think.

          1. we were driving down to see my mom, when his wife called and told me what happened. we were going to see their new house the next –he was so excited.
            when we got there, he was drunk–and he wasn’t a heavy drinker. we sobered him up and made a fuss about the house. when we got to the part that my BIL was going to live in, hubby and his wife left us alone and he broke down and we both cried together a long time. he clung to me like i was a life raft in a raging sea–I can’t describe it better than that.

    Votes were being processed at the TCF Center by election workers, even though the voter’s names didn’t appear in the electronic poll books or supplemental poll books. Poll challengers had no way of knowing if they were watching votes being cast by dead or imaginary voters, as the voter rolls were so over-bloated that it was impossible for them to check for the legitimacy of the so-called 150,000 “voters” who pushed Biden to an alleged victory in the must-win state of Michigan.

      Keep in mind, Wikipedia is heavily biased to make her look bad. Very bad.

      Tina is the heroine of the movie and she has a piece of ironclad evidence: disk image dumps of the election machines before and after the manufacturer tampered with it. Anyone who has looked at this evidence is impressed.

      What happens is that “they” spin it around and make it look to the public (and law enforcement) like she’s the evildoer. This distracts attention from the disk image evidence.

      How can you tell who is telling you the truth?

      It’s easy. In almost all cases, it’s the people who are not camera shy.

      Consider the following:

      1. The Colorado Secretary of State refused to go on camera to answer any questions for the filmmakers

      2. Tina Peters fully cooperated with the filmmakers

      3. Tina Peters doesn’t have a horse in this race: she has never been involved in politics before her election.

      4. The filmmakers do not have a horse in this race (they are focused on other issues) and are known for exposing truth

      5. The evidence speaks for itself. Experts who have looked at the before/after hard disk images call it a “smoking gun.”

      6. Tina lacks the technical skills to have pulled this off. Those who accuse her of modifying the records have yet to show who did the work.

      7. Nobody seems to be able to explain how the corruption of the records happened if the manufacturer was honest.

      8. The State doesn’t seem to want to pursue finding the individual responsible for modifying the election records.

    The alleged coverup was said to have begun under the Justice Department and IRS of President Donald Trump as corrupt forces inside federal agencies plotted against his reelection. Former intelligence officers and Biden campaign officials assisted in the plan, sources claim, along with many in media—apparently for fear that the truth could derail Biden’s presidential run.

  23. Just The News: “The Tunnel to Towers Foundation on Saturday held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the construction of a residential complex for homeless veterans in Manatee County, Fla.

    The “Bradenton Veterans Village” is slated for completion in 2025 and will include a 84-unit apartment complex, 38 comfort homes, and an on-site support center, the foundation announced. The county donated 8.7 acres to the foundation for the project.

    The Tunnel to Towers foundation was founded in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and works to provide homes to Gold Star families and those of deceased first responders. The Bradenton facility is part of its Homeless Veterans Program, which served more than 5,000 veterans since its creation in 2023.

    In 2022, the organization unveiled a curriculum to help teach children about the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Tunnel to Towers founder Frank Siller told the “Just the News, No Noise” television show at the time that “[t]hose of us that survived September 11 want to talk about our experiences.”

    “They want to talk about where they were, and they want to relate to the day. So it’s our job not only to tell the story, but also to listen to the stories of people that are coming to us to have their own memories that they want to keep alive in their hearts,” he continued.”

    Just The News: “Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson created a task force on Monday to investigate possible reparations for black residents in the city, who were victims of racism or descended from slaves in the Civil War.

    California has already created a “reparations task force” for people who were descended from slaves, which recommended that they could receive up to $1.2 million. The task force also recommended the state creates a genealogy office that would investigate whether someone is qualified for the payments.

    Johnson said the city has a responsibility to look into the inequalities faced by black residents, citing the racism in education, employment, wealth, housing, safety and healthcare, according to The Hill. “Today’s Executive Order is not just a public declaration; it is a pledge to shape the future of our city by confronting the legacy of inequity that has plagued Chicago for far too long,” Johnson said in a statement.

    In the executive order creating the task force, Johnson apologized for the “historical wrongs committed against Black Chicagoans and their ancestors who have and continue to bear injustices.”

    Black residents account for nearly 30% of Chicago residents as of 2023, according to the Census Bureau. The creation of the reparations task force, which will look at policies that have impacted black Chicago residents since the Civil War, comes after Johnson allocated $500,000 for the endeavor in the 2024 budget. The reparations, if approved, could come in various forms, including financial payments, social service benefits, and land grants.

              i read about it on line but i couldn’t find “original” Irish Spring. then last time i was at mom’s i found 2 bars in my Dad’s basement cabinet drawer. i asked her if i could have them and she laughed and laughed. said sure–didn’t even know he had any down there. (he’s been gone 10 years)
              so gonna shave them and tie them up in cheesecloth bags and hang them on the fence posts.

    Fox News Digital obtained a letter Grassley, R-Iowa, and Johnson, R-Wis., sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, demanding answers on whether Kerry properly complied with federal records law as secretary of state. 

    Whistleblowers told Grassley and Johnson that Kerry used the email address “SESTravel1@state.gov” while serving in his official capacity.

    Former Secretary of State John Kerry used a pseudonymous government email address while serving as the nation’s top diplomat during the Obama administration, whistleblowers said.

    “We want to know whether then-Secretary Kerry properly complied with all federal records laws and regulations with respect to his official email communications and whether responses to relevant Freedom of Information Act requests have properly included that email address in productions to requestors,” they wrote. 

    The senators noted that they have been raising concerns about the State Department’s compliance — or non-compliance — with federal records laws since 2015, during the investigations into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s improper use of a non-government server for government business.

    Meanwhile, the letter to Blinken comes just weeks after whistleblowers told Grassley and Johnson that Kerry and his State Department “actively interfered” to prevent the FBI from executing arrest warrants on individuals illegally in the United States who were allegedly supporting Iranian financial efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction.

    Grassley and Johnson reminded Blinken of their questions about Kerry’s alleged “extensive, consistent, and successful interference and obstruction of the FBI’s efforts to arrest Iranian terrorists because of his desire to cement the failed Iran Nuclear Deal between the Obama/Biden administration and the Iranian government.” 

    Grassley also raised questions about Kerry’s alleged potential mishandling of classified information in communications with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, after leaving office.

    In their letter to Blinken on Monday, Grassley and Johnson are demanding answers on whether the SESTravel1@state.gov email address was actually used by Kerry and demanded all records from, to, or cc’ing that email address.

    They are also questioning whether Kerry complied with federal records laws and demanded the process the State Department used to store and archive his government email records. They also questioned if that email address was used only for official business, and if it was used to communicate with foreign government officials — specifically, whether it was used to communicate information related to the Iran Nuclear Deal. Grassley and Johnson gave Blinken until July 1 to respond. The State Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

    The Governor of Louisiana has signed TWO more election integrity bills that has Democrats seething, SB 436 will require voters to provide proof of citizenship with their voter registration applications HB 114 will require election officials to identify and REMOVE registered voters on the voter lists who have not corrected their address and — over the past 10 years — have not participated in an election, updated their registration information or taken other specified actions In just the last two months, Landry has signed almost ten bills to secure Louisiana elections. The next step is to ban the machines

    At what point is the Governor of the Lone Star state going to stop tweeting and actually do something about securing our elections and getting rid of voting machines that Democrat counties poor hundreds of millions of dollars into.

          1. We had discussed her desires and I knew she wouldn’t want to be kept alive on a machine. The brain bleed was sooooo extensive – I saw the x-ray – it started on the left and spread to almost the entire right side of her brain. There was absolutely no way she would ever come back from that.

      1. There is no real accountability in the entire “public employee” system – hasn’t been since the late ’70’s when I was exposed to it first-hand. It’s just gotten worse since then – back then, it was primarily race/sex issues – now you’ve got the whole gay/woke issue on top of it!!!

      “The smell works as the repelling agent for some varmints and insects. By grating a bar of Irish spring soap and if you spread it throughout the place, it will work as a barrier for bigger mammals like deer and smaller mammals like rabbits, chipmunks, and different insects.”
