DIY: 21 Uses for All Kinds of Plastic Jugs: Part 2

Continuing from FAMILY HANDYMAN:

Laundry Detergent Twine Dispenser

Prevent balls of twine from tangling up by making a twine dispenser from an empty plastic detergent jug. Cut the bottom off the jug and drill a hole in the cap. Screw the jug to your shop wall with the spout facing down. Drop the ball of twine into the jug, thread it through the hole and screw the cap on. — Paul Chupek

Furniture Stripping Helper

When stripping old paint or varnish, how do you get rid of the stuff once it’s on your putty knife? Cut a semi-circular opening in the side of an empty gallon jug, then clean the loaded scraper on the flat edge of the hole. When you’re done, and you want to reuse some of the stripper, upend the jug and use the neck of the jug as a funnel to pour the stripper into another container.

Plastic Bag Dispenser

To make it easy to stow and reuse plastic bags, make a dispenser from a discarded 2-liter soda bottle. Cut off the top and bottom with a razor knife. Trim any jagged edges so you don’t tear the bags when you pull them out, then screw the dispenser to a cabinet door or closet wall (or attach with hook-and-loop tape).

Water Bottle Nail Pouch

Make a nail holder from a plastic beverage bottle. Cut the top off an empty bottle, leaving a 3-1/2 in. tall container. File off any sharp edges or cover them with tape. Cut two 1-1/2 in. vertical slits 1 in. apart in the center of the side. Slide the end of your belt through the slots for a homemade nail pouch. — R. B. Hines.

Laundry Jug Watering Can

Instead of throwing away empty laundry detergent containers, rinse them out thoroughly and then recycle them for watering plants. Drill 1/8-in. holes in the top of the cap, and a 1/2-in. hole just above the handle to relieve pressure so the water flows freely.

Out with the Mustard, In with the Glue

I no longer put up with the messy “over-designed” carpenter’s glue dispensers. Instead, I use old mustard bottles; they don’t clog and they easily reseal between uses. — reader Richard Painter

Plastic Jug Planters

Those plastic milk jugs can be cut and used as planters. Try hanging them from a fence with wire coat hangers, as shown here.

Better Bucket Storage

Stacked 5-gallon buckets fit together so tightly that it’s almost impossible to pull them apart. Prevent the problem by placing a large plastic pop bottle (with top on) or milk jug between each pair of buckets. You can still nest the buckets together, but they won’t stick together anymore.

Better Glue Bottle Cap

Screw the flip-up, 1-in. inner dia. cap from your shampoo or liquid cleanser bottle onto your glue bottle. The 1-in. cap fits on every glue bottle we tried. Now:

You can’t lose the little cap.

Glue stays fresher because the cap snaps shut.

The cap’s small round hole makes it easier to control the size of the glue bead.

Glue doesn’t harden in the cap and require clearing before use. — reader Dorothy Nanchu

Instant Tool Holder

Store chisels, files, large drill bits, screwdrivers and other long tools so they’re both visible and close at hand. Simply cut off the top from a clear 2-liter plastic soft drink bottle, leaving a flap for hanging. Use smaller bottles, which are extremely common household items for smaller tools.

    1. Morning! It’s 53 now and sunny, w/light wind at this point. Supposed to cloud up with rain and wind later followed by several days of rain, some potentially heavy. I noticed yesterday that the clematis I put next to the glider last year is coming up – I think they are almost indestructible! I think I put the white one there but I’m not sure. Regardless, I’ve decided I’ll put the dark red one on the other end of the glider instead of creating a whole new display. I’ve lost all interest in that now and I think it will be fine even if it is shaded most of the day.

  1. Raskin sued for $20MILLION by Bobulinski

    article

One of the far-left Democrats who orchestrated a failed impeachment campaign against President Trump, and now has been adamant in defense of Joe Biden on impeachment investigation claims of influence peddling and corruption, has been sued for defaming a congressional witness.

The complaint by onetime Hunter Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski was filed against Jamie Raskin, in his individual capacity, in U.S. District Court in Maryland.

The lawsuit seeks $20 million in “compensatory, special and punitive” damages, plus costs, plus any other “relief as the court deems justice.”

Bobulinski, in fact, has testified to Congress investigating Joe Biden for possible impeachment about Biden’se personal involvement in the Biden family’s international business schemes, which critics have called influence peddling, and Congress has confirmed has generated paychecks of tens of millions of dollars.

Raskin repeatedly has tried to undermine the testimony of congressional witnesses who are critical of Biden, and specifically attacked Bobulinski, the filing explains,

“In his February 14, 2024, statement, defendant said that Mr. Bobulinski has been unable to support his claims and accused him of lying, Defendant’s March 6, 2024, post described Mr. Bobulinski as a ‘dubious’ witness. In doing so, defendant intended to convey and imply the defamatory interpretation that it is Mr. Bobulinski was untrustworthy, who lied to Congress. Defendant’s statements left a reasonable reader with the impression that it is really Mr. Bobulinski, who was bought and paid for by the Trump campaign, and therefore, who was lying about the Biden family’s business dealings.”

It continues, “Defendant intentionally created this inference to salvage his political party, and Joseph Biden, to the detriment of Mr. Bobulinski in his patriotic pursuit to expose the truth of the Biden family corruption. The inferences made are defamatory as they lead to hatred, distrust, ridicule, contempt, and/or disgrace for Mr. Bobulinski, and leaves the interpretation that Mr. Bobulinski was untrustworthy and lied to Congress. Indeed, it caused not only a large segment of the nation that despises all things Trump regardless of reality, but also rational and reasonable viewers, not to trust or find credibility with Mr. Bobulinski. Defendant made the statements with malice.”

Among Raskin’s claims was that the witness was a “Ttrump campaign plant and pawn,” and that he “engaged in criminal acts.”

The narrative of the complaint points out Bobulinsk’s successful U.S. military career, in which he was honored with the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

It was after his military career that he got involved eventually in business deals with Hunter Biden.

His testimony is key in that he witnessed Joe Biden’s personal involvement in the family “influence” operations, dealings that Joe Biden has claimed he never knew about.

WND reported earlier when Bobulinski’s lawyers demanded a retraction from Raskin, a demand he ignored.

That letter warned Raskin, “You are not entitled to any immunity for your defamatory statements. The Speech and Debate Clause comes from Article I, Section 6, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution, and it includes, in relevant part: ‘for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.'”

But that only protects activities “undertaken in the House and Senate,” and provides no immunity “beyond its carefully defined scope,” the lawyers warned. “Anything that is not a legislative activity will not be protected.”

The letter warns Raskin, “Your statements are derogatory falsehoods, rendering them legally actionable. Your pattern of maliciously defaming Mr. Bobulinski is well-established and will not be tolerated.”

  2. wow after exposing example after example of black women plagiarizing their works, Rufo is attacked. however he is not targeting black women–he is looking at white and Asian scholars as well–they just don’t seem to be plagiarizing their work.

Black people are entitled to plagarize, should be exempt from scrutiny – exempt from the rules – should be held to a lower standard.

    1. I’ve got ours marked on my calendar, plus there will be a reminder in the weekly paper – we vote at the library here and the paper ballots are scanned in. Those are the only machines we use in our elections. Thankfully, no inspections required in NE. That was a pleasant surprise after living in Va for so long! My truck certainly wouldn’t pass, that’s for sure!!! LOL

  4. so daniels debt to President Trump is now $670,000! (interest i guess)

    article

Stormy Daniels Says She’ll ‘Go to Jail’ or ‘Die’ Before Paying Trump The $670K She Owes.

Pornography peddler Stormy Daniels has claimed she is “fully prepared to go to jail” and “would rather die” before paying President Donald Trump the $670,000 she owes as a result of multiple legal cases she has lost. Her remarks in violation of court orders came in an interview with sexual deviant Jeffrey Toobin on Saturday.

Daniels went as far as to text Toobin, “I’ll wear a dominatrix outfit to court. It’ll make for a festive mugshot,” when asked what she would do if held in contempt of court for refusing to pay.

Critically for Trump’s lawyers, Toobin also admits: “Her debt to Trump—and her refusal to pay it—complicates her usefulness as a witness, because the defense will surely argue that her anger about the debt gives her a motive to lie about the former president. So, as it happens, the story of Daniels’s debt—how it came about and what it means today—may be of considerable importance. In fact, the outcome of the presidential election and the future of American democracy may turn on it.”

Daniels’s debt stems from her hiring of disgraced lawyer and media darling Michael Avenatti, who presented a case against Trump “so weak” that federal judge S. James Otero awarded Trump legal fees of $293,000, and appealing this added $121,000 in further costs.

“With interest and court fees the number now stands at around $670,000,” writes Toobin, who seeks to portray the porn purveyor in a sympathetic light.

But even her former lawyer, Avenatti himself, now says, “[s]he has zero credibility, and she is the most opportunistic person I’ve ever met.”

To this day, Daniels claims to communicate with the dead, including a haunted doll called Susan. Toobin explains that this behavior may cause Daniels problems at the upcoming Manhattan trial, which begins later this month.

  8. think i brought this yesterday…
AFL sues NARA for destroying employees’ emails after they left CDC

America First Legal (AFL) has sued the Biden administration’s Health and Human Services (HHS) department as well as the National Archives (NARA) for allegedly deleting the emails of former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) employees.

Last week AFL took legal action against HHS and NARA for allegedly deleting files against the law from CDC employees’ emails. In a press release from AFL, the law firm stated that it was suing “Secretary Xavier Becerra, the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan, and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for illegally destroying federal records from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in violation of the Federal Records Act.”

The lawsuit stated that by federal law, government agencies have to “make and preserve records containing adequate and proper documentation of the organization” and other operations “to protect the legal and financial rights of the Government and of persons directly affected by the agency’s activities” as seen in 44 U.S.C. § 3101.

However, NARA and HHS allegedly “have a pattern and practice of removing the emails of employees who separate from employment within as little as thirty days from the date of separation” as stated in the lawsuit brought by AFL.

AFL said it filed a FOIA request to the CDC asking for documents from the agency and the organization reportedly responded in an email saying that “employees’ emails are deleted 30 days after they leave the agency.” According to the lawsuit, the proper time frame is three years rather than 30 days to stay within the law.

After an investigation into the alleged practice involving the CDC, NARA, and HHS, NARA wrote to AFL in a memo, “NARA acknowledges that the CDC’s policies and procedures prohibit disposing of separated employees’ email accounts without authorization, and specific criteria must be met before the email accounts of separated employees’ are deleted.”

“The CDC does not require the preservation of all emails but rather preserves all records from email accounts. CDC’s records management policy instructs all agency personnel to maintain records outside of email accounts in a proper record-keeping system, shared drive, personal drive, or physical format. The CDC instructs individual email account holders to apply retention based on the email’s content value and its applicability to a NARA-approved records schedule,” the memo added.

AFL explained in its press release, “If the federal government wants to unlawfully assert that anytime a government employee leaves an agency their records are no longer considered records of the United States, then the same assumption would apply to former Presidents of the United States.”

“According to this logic, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s prosecution of President Trump over Presidential records would be voided null as the records in question would effectively no longer be considered records of the United States upon the end of the Trump presidency,” AFL added in the release.

  9. Well, this is a blast from the past…..

    “The Franklin Scandal Deep Dive”

PEPE LIVES MATTER, APR 23, 2024

EXCERPT: “The Nebraska cover-up contains within it the quintessential playbook the deep state uses to contaminate our society with corruption, pedophilia, blackmail, and unhinged greed.

This is Epstein Island before Epstein Island. The Diddy blackmail operations before you knew this was their playbook. Suspicious plane crashes, the predators in charge of the media, the mysterious deaths of the whistleblowers, and lawfare implemented to silence the victims. There is no length to which they will not go to prevent the truth from coming out. Yet, everything that is hidden will come into the light.

I am going to systematically break down all the relevant information to help you grasp this red pill and hopefully, you can pass this out to others.

The reason this is so important is twofold. First, this is their playbook. Everything that happens in Nebraska is brought forth in this country and the world on an even grander stage, at times.

Once this reality sinks in, you can see it happening all around you. Sexual blackmail is their preferred currency. Once they get you, you are theirs for life. They can control you, and bend you to their will, and if you do not, you are canceled immediately and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Many of today’s politicians have been branded by this evil. When a politician in the swamp does something you do not expect that aids the corruption rather than fighting it, you can assume they are being bought and paid for or something much worse is occurring. The playbook has been used and they are being puppeteered by blackmail of the worse kind.

    (2 videos)

Breaking down the Franklin Scandal is no easy feat. I read an entire book, watched hours of interviews, and dug with other anons into the subject fervently. What follows is an alarming rabbit hole that seems to have no end. Sexual blackmail is the playbook for governments and intelligence agencies.  It is not scarce in its appearance, it is the norm. But what makes this so much worse is that these operations use and abuse children, society’s most precious innocent ones…..

JUST IN: David Pecker just testified that he’s the one who told Trump women might come to him with stories, because Trump was such a popular bachelor who dated the most beautiful women. Apparently Trump was just planning a campaign run, but Pecker and Cohen were the ones worried about women coming forward. Does the prosecution realize they just made themselves look ridiculous? Their key witness just said Trump didn’t even come up with any of this.

Iron Man 2, The Avengers, etc. – all movies neither you nor I would enjoy! The only one I saw and liked was the horse movie, of course – and who can argue with Robert Redford??!!??

  11. Man, this town’s management has it’s head up it’s ass!!! There are 2 RR crossings here in town – one less than half a block from me and the other a mile or so west, at the other end of town. That’s where the grain bins are for loading/unloading. They are repairing that crossing so there was a notice in the paper telling people (IOW, trucks!) to use Line Street to get to the crossing here, then turn north on 4th street to go up to Main (thru town) or Hwy 20 to go to the west end of town.

Which is ridiculous on it’s face considering this is a dirt road that they barely maintain anyway! They have been grading and bringing in more gravel/dirt continuously the last couple of days in preparation for all the traffic. And that traffic has begun – truck after truck after truck!

They come off the highway onto the cement county road, on the very east end of town, about 2 blocks from me. That road continues north up 2 blocks to Hwy 20 – they could do that, then turn west for 5-6 blocks, turn back south 2 blocks to the grain bins. Far fewer turns, much wider cement roads that don’t pass thru residential areas, and simpler. And the RR crossing here is gravel so they will then have to repair this one, too, considering all the traffic!

Speed limit here is 25 but not even 10% of the people who use this road pay attention to that and they go flying past my house! I asked the City repeatedly to do something about that the first few years I was here, to no avail!

    1. I recall reading at some point that some who drop out after a certain date would still appear on ballots because they are printed so early but IDR which states – maybe PA was one of those.
