DIY: Stress Balls

From the SPRUCECRAFTS.COM website:

A stress ball is a fun and malleable toy that’s a great tool for portable stress relief. Both adults and children can squeeze the toy in their hands, moving their fingers around to relieve muscle tension, stress, and to exercise the hand. Beyond being a toy, stress balls may help make you feel relaxed and lower your blood pressure. Toss one in your bag before you start a busy day or keep one at your desk for convenient stress relief.

Make your own DIY-crafted stress ball at home. Creating your own stress ball can be a creative way to release pressure and have fun making a squishy and playful item. You can even customize your own by choosing your favorite color (or a calming one, such as blue) and adding stickers or colored patterns.

Equipment / Tools

Funnel

Scissors

Permanent marker (optional)

Materials

Small, round balloon

1 cup Cornstarch

Instructions

Blow up the Balloon

Blow up the balloon until it is about 4 to 5 inches in diameter. Do not tie it, but keep the balloon inflated as best you can.

Pinch It Closed

Pinch the top of the balloon shut, about 1 to 2 inches from the opening, leaving room for the funnel to be inserted into the neck of the balloon. If you don’t have an assistant to help, use a clip to pinch the balloon.

Insert the Funnel

Place a funnel inside the opening of the balloon while still pinching the balloon closed. You may need help securing the funnel inside the balloon. Don’t worry if your balloon deflates a little, as this tends to happen during this step.

Fill Your Balloon With Cornstarch

Fill the top of the funnel with cornstarch using your free hand (or enlist a helper). It works best to add a small amount of cornstarch at a time.

Slowly Release Pinched Fingers

Carefully begin replacing the air with cornstarch by slowly letting go of where you’re pinching the balloon so the cornstarch can slide into it. If you go too quickly, the air leaving the balloon will blow the cornstarch into the air and make a mess.

Continue adding cornstarch to the funnel until the balloon is filled to a depth of about 3 inches. Continue adding small amounts of cornstarch to your funnel, moving slowly, and swirl the cornstarch around with your finger to help work it into the base of the funnel and into the balloon.

Squeeze out the Excess Air

Pull up tightly on the opening of the balloon and pinch out any extra air. In order to have an effective stress ball that won’t pop, it’s important to eliminate any extra air that’s inside your balloon. All of your stress ball’s contents should be cornstarch.

Tie the Balloon Closed

Tie the balloon closed as near to the cornstarch as you can. Use scissors to cut off any excess balloon, making sure not to cut too close to the knot on the balloon.

Decorate the Stress Ball

Decorate the stress ball with stickers or permanent markers as desired. Choose your favorite colors to make your new toy your own and add fun patterns to show off your artistic skills. Now you’re ready for stress relief on-the-go with your very own DIY stress ball!

    1. Good morning! See? You can take care of yourself! And why on earth would you be blushing? Silly girl! Note to self: buy longer mop! Or one that’s extendable! LOL – sitting at 33 here now…it was 37 when I got up and started wading thru my e-mails. The sky to the west is clear but clouds are moving in from the east; pretty at the moment with the pink of the sunrise but we may be getting a bit of snow. Meh! Shouldn’t be much and it won’t last long – a couple of days with colder temps but then right back up into the mid-to-high 60’s.

This is some good news I hadn’t seen posted yet – I really like this man:

“NC Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson projected to win GOP gubernatorial primary: AP – State Attorney General Josh Stein, meanwhile, won the Democratic primary, with 72.3% of the vote at the time of the race call.”

By Ben Whedon, Just The News, Updated: March 5, 2024 10:34p

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “North Carolina GOP Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is projected to win the North Carolina GOP gubernatorial primary on Tuesday evening.

State Attorney General Josh Stein, meanwhile, won the Democratic primary, with 69.3% of the vote as of 10:30 p.m. with 83% of the vote reporting. Opponents Michael Morgan and Chrelle Booker earned 14.3% and 6.7%, respectively.

The pair will face off in November to succeed Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper.”

    1. Did you read the article? Mark Green – he’s a good one, IMO – Trump supported him staying in. Matt Rosendale was leaving to run for a Senate seat until Trump endorsed Tim Sheehy for that seat but said he would support him for his re-election. I’ve never heard of Victoria Spartz from IN.

    1. Wrap up John Kerry while you’re at it – he was SOS at the time. Then again, this was probably set up under Killary when she was SOS thru 2013.

      1. Sally is doing better than we hoped for the week after the second surgery. She’s tired and not quite back to normal energy, but her heart rate is steady with the new pacemaker. Her Dad was tired right after getting his pacemaker and it took a while for him to get his energy back to where it was.

I’m getting back to sewing for Sally’s lift and wheelchairs. Have to say I hate Gutterman thread – the way it’s wound on the spool makes it jump around and wrap itself around the machine spindle sometimes. Give me plain old Coats & Clark thread! I bought a bunch of the fancy thread when I tried the Bernina machine. Hope I can use it up soon!

        1. I’ll keep you all in my prayers GA!
when we cleaned out my mom’s sewing cabinet, we found a large sewing basket filled with thread. i asked if she wanted to keep any of it in case she wanted to sew on a button or something. she said no–take it all.
i had to throw more than half of it away because it was so old it was brittle…lol
i prefer Coats & Clark myself but i bought walmart thread a few times (the color matched exactly what i needed) and it wasn’t too bad.

“US-Sponsored Militia Names Ex-ISIS Leader As Commander”

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ National Pulse: “On February 29, 2024, the Syria Free Army (SFA), a militia receiving support and training from the United States government, announced the appointment of former ISIS leader Colonel Salem Turki al-Antari as its commander.

“We are excited for the new opportunities that [al-Antari] will bring to the SFA and the leadership he will provide,” the SFA said in a statement on Facebook. The SFA reiterated its objective to secure, stabilize, and defeat Da’esh or ISIS.

Al-Antari joined ISIS in 2014 and played essential roles in several attacks and battles led by ISIS from 2015 to 2017. He later joined the militant coalition Syrian National Army (SNA), supported by Turkey. Following the capture of Raqqa by US-backed Kurdish forces in 2017, Al-Antari became a part of the Maghawir al-Thawra militant group. This group became a part of the US-sponsored SFA in 2019 and operates from the Al-Tanf American base.

The US has been training these militants with the primary objective of combating ISIS. However, the presence of active ISIS cells around the Syrian desert near the Al-Tanf base continues to be a concern. Russian and Syrian authorities have accused the US of providing logistic aid to ISIS in these regions.”

  4. Well, I have to say it was a pretty gracious speech from Haley. And no, she didn’t endorse Trump; instead, she said she will make up her own mind, following Margaret Thatcher’s advice but will always support the candidate chosen by the party. It’s up to Trump now to win over those who are unsure. One touching segment was about the fact that last week, her 1st gen immigrant Mother was able to vote for her daughter for President. I’ll bet that was one big factor in her delaying until now.

Watch Nikki Haley exactly at 1:01. ‘This is now Donald Trump’s time for choosing.’ Nikki is demanding to be Trump VP. It’s obvious what is happening here. VP extortion attempt.

  5. JUST THE NEWS: “Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., endorsed former President Donald Trump, despite previous spats between the two, after GOP candidate Nikki Haley dropped out of the candidate on Wednesday.

“It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States,” McConnell said, according to The Washington Post.

“During his presidency, we worked together to accomplish great things for the American people including tax reform that supercharged our economy and a generational change of our federal judiciary — most importantly, the Supreme Court,” he also said. “I look forward to the opportunity of switching from playing defense against the terrible policies the Biden administration has pursued to a sustained offense geared towards making a real difference in improving the lives of the American people.”

McConnell, who is resigning as Senate GOP leader this fall, made his announcement less than an hour after former South Carolina Gov. Haley suspended her Republican presidential campaign.

Trump has publicly feuded with McConnell on several occasions since the 2020 election. For example, in 2021, Trump said: “The Republican Party can never again be respected or strong with political ‘leaders’ like Sen. Mitch McConnell at its helm.”

In 2022, Trump called the Kentucky Republican “one of the worst & most unpopular politicians.”

They’re still on that kill switch?

A government mandated kill switch in your car? Yes, that is one of the many bad things funded by the gargantuan uniparty spending bill up for a vote this week.

where is the AUTHORITY to pass such a law? why do you never talk about that? All you ever do is talk about policy choiCeS. The govt has NO authority to pass such a law.

This website is for Amos Miller, the Amish farmer that the gubt is trying to destroy. His life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Along with his his business, just like they are trying to do with President Trump. So never believe them when they tel you it’s just President Trump. They are LIARS! Remember what they did to small businesses during their fake pandemics and forced lockdowns.

This website was set up by Viva & Barnes to help him and his case. There is merch here, as well as donation options for anyone so inclined. It also tells his story. Please share so more will know.
