What in the World?

The hala fruit is a large edible fruit made up of numerous segments called keys or cones and is found in Southeast Asia, eastern Australia, Pacific Islands and Hawaii.

Also called the Tahitian screw pine or thatch screwpine, the hala fruit tree is one of the 750 or so trees that belong to the Pandanus species. The hala fruit tree can reach up to 14 meters in height, with a spiny trunk that grows between 5 – 11 meters in width. This is a large fruit that can be up to 30 cm long, with dozens to hundreds of segments (or phalanges, keys) that are attached together by a core, each being around 20 cm long.

HOW TO EAT HALA FRUIT

The phalanges contain the edible pulp of the hala fruit. But in order to get to the pulp, you may have to remove a few of the phalanges with the claw of the hammer to make it easier to pull out the others. The outer edges of the keys are green and very fibrous. Pull out a segment, start from the inner end by chewing on it to squeeze out the sweet pulp from the inside.

WHAT DOES HALA FRUIT TASTE LIKE?

It looks a bit scary and reminds you of an exploding planet. But don’t let appearances scare you off, because chances are, you might have already tried a variant of the hala fruit at one point in your life, especially if you are a fan of Southeast Asian food.

Pandan chiffon cake, pandan curry, pandan custard – do any of these ring a bell? Pandan, usually in the form of an essence or paste is made from the leaves of a pandanus tree belonging to the same family as the hala fruit. If you’ve ever wondered why some of those desserts were a fluo green, it was probably because of pandan.

The hala fruit itself has a delicate, sweet taste, similar to the paste made from the leaves. It is eaten fresh, boiled or ground into a paste, or squeezed into juice.

  1. “How To Diagnose Trump Derangement Syndrome”

Dr. Bezmenov’s DSM-V diagnostic of the TDS mind virus pandemic

    YURI BEZMENOV

    FEB 25, 2024

EXCERPT: “Comrades: After a decade of madness, it is time to classify Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) as an official mental disorder.

    Diagnostic Criteria

TDS is a mind virus pandemic that went viral in 2015. The primary symptoms are persistent deficits in emotional control, logic, and humor. Patients display predictable, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, and activities resembling religious cults. Their lives become fixated on fomenting hatred towards an Orange Man and standing against everything he says, even if the results are bad.

    Prominent symptoms include:

    • Calling anyone who displays any support for Orange Man fascist, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, bigoted, deplorable conspiracy theorists peddling dangerous misinformation
    • Severing friendships and family bonds over political disagreements
    • Regurgitating the talking points of corporations, big pharma, MSM, academia, tech conglomerates, intelligence agencies, military industrial complex, and World Economic Forum
    • Refusing to believe any sources of information other than the above
    • Banning books, films, statues, and art that are offensive
    • Imposing segregation by race and medical status
    • Mutilating one’s body with piercings, tattoos, hair coloring, and gender changes
    • Wearing black masks and pink genitalia hats
    • Celebrating mass murder of the unborn and the organization facilitating it, which was founded by a eugenicist
    • Supporting rioting and criminality, while pushing to confiscate guns from law-abiding citizens so only the government can use them
    • Pretending Senile Man isn’t senile, corrupt, or destroying the country
    • Insisting that Senile Man’s escalation towards World War III and open borders are good, but peace and secure borders under Orange Man was bad
    • Thinking MAGA and Russia are the only problems in the world
    • Believing Jan 6 was as bad as 9/11 and Pearl Harbor
    • Conforming, complying, and obeying the government
    • Destroying Democracy in order to save it
    • Repeating copy pasta word salad slogans that sounds good, but don’t mean anything or are the opposite of the original definitions
    • Virtue signaling through display of pronouns, flags, and syringes along with arousal about being a good person on the right side of history

      1. Well, it has to hit at least 70 for that but yeah….saw a ground squirrel yesterday – way early for them to show up! If some of my perennials sprout, then we get another hard freeze…which we will, no doubt in my mind….it may damage or even kill them.

  2. definitely a violation of the 8th amendment–

Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution

The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution protects against imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments. This amendment was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the United States Bill of Rights. The amendment serves as a limitation upon the state or federal government to impose unduly harsh penalties on criminal defendants before and after a conviction.

The judge who hit Donald Trump with a $355 million verdict in New York’s civil fraud lawsuit over his asset valuations said the former president owes another $99 million in interest, largely affirming an estimate made public last week by the state attorney general.

A judgment formalizing Justice Arthur Engoron’s Feb. 16 verdict was posted Friday to the court docket in Manhattan, locking in damages at $454 million — for now — and starting a 30-day countdown for Trump to appeal. The verdict last week had left the amount of interest blank.
New York Attorney General Letitia James won the trial after presenting evidence that Trump, his sons and his company inflated his assets by billions of dollars a year to get better terms on loans for more than a decade.
Interest on what Trump owes will increase by almost $112,000 a day as long as he doesn’t pay, even during appeals, according to the attorney general’s office.

  3. EXCERPT: “2023 Gallup Poll of trust in American institutions has been generally ignored by mainstream media, yet its findings are the most important story of the time. In illuminating the historically low trust in American institutions, Gallup showed the enormity of the trend over the past few decades. If this trend continues, Americans will have absolutely no trust left

The key takeaway is that American trust in critical national institutions is only about half of what it was around four decades ago, and falling fast. From the report entitled Historically Low Faith in US Institutions Continues: “The historically depressed nature of today’s ratings is evident….. That average fell to a new low of 26% this hear….. it is 10 points lower than in 2020. Confidence has generally trended downward since registering 48% in 1979 and holding near 45% in the 1980s. It averaged closer to 40% in the 1990s and early 2000 before dropping to the low 30% range in the 2010s.”

If this trend continues, Americans will have absolutely no trust left. Alongside this trend of lost trust is the corresponding trend of the progressive takeover of those institutions. The primary way to reestablish trust is to roll back progressive dominance and return to common sense.

First, the progressive takeover of key American institutions corresponds directly with the loss of trust in those institutions.

Starting with the media, a 2022 study done by the Syracuse University Newhouse School of Public Communications found: In a poll of 1,600 journalists, only 3.4 percent identified as Republican while more than ten times that percent identified as Democrat. In contrast, in the 1970s over 25 percent identified as Republican, while 35 percent identified as Democrat….”

  6. NF: Bet it’s at least double that!!!

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ Just The News: “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday said that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died over the past two years since Russia invaded the country.

“31,000 Ukrainian military personnel have been killed in this war. Not 300,000, not 150,000, not whatever Putin and his deceitful circle have been lying about. But nevertheless, each of these losses is a great sacrifice for us,” Zelensky said at a forum in Kyiv titled, “Ukraine. Year 2024,” per The Associated Press.

Zelensky said he would not state the number of Ukrainian soldiers who were wounded or missing, but he said that “tens of thousands of civilians” had been killed in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine although the figures will remain unclear until after the war.

“We don’t know how many of our civilians they killed. We don’t,” Zelensky said.

The president’s comments mark the first time that Kyiv has confirmed its military deaths since Russia invaded on Feb. 24, 2022.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said last week that Russia suffered more than 400,000 casualties since the start of the war. The Kremlin rarely provides casualty figures, so it is difficult to check the claims.”

  8. the plot thickens

    FTA

Nathan Wade “made the decisions to hire or fire” employees in Fulton County District Attorney’s Office following Fulton County prosecutor Fani Willis’ election victory in November 2020, multiple sources familiar with the Wade and Willis relationship exclusively told Breitbart News.

The revelation of Wade’s previously unreported position as the former personnel decision-maker for the District Attorney’s Office raises ethical and conflict of interest concerns. It also raises questions about whether Wade and Willis have been forthright about the timeline of their affair.

“Wade is a prosecutor on the Trump case and he selected the office employees,” a source told Breitbart News.

Wade led a transition team of ten to twelve people who interviewed and evaluated current employees to remain in Willis’ newly won office just weeks after she won the election in November, said the sources, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retribution due to their direct knowledge of the environment inside the District Attorney’s Office, which they characterized as “corrupt.”

Wade, a second source told Breitbart News, was in charge of determining who of the 250 office employees would remain with Willis. Sources described one-on-one interviews behind closed doors with Willis and Wade, who was “too invested to be just a friend” of Willis to hold such a powerful position.

Wade and Willis claim their relationship started in 2022 after Willis launched the probe into former President Donald Trump. But sources say Wade and Willis “obviously” had an ongoing romantic relationship at the time Willis won the election. “There was just something so weird going on,” one source said.

“Willis said everyone in the office was essentially all terminated, and that essentially we had to reapply for our jobs and must submit an application and schedule a time to appear for an interview,” a source said. “We had to reapply and came back in so they could interview everyone — from lawyers to paralegals to assistants to investigators.”

“And in that room, in my interview, there were a lot of people other than Fani Willis. And that was her transition team. I definitely know that Nathan Wade was in that room because he was taking the lead role,” the source stated. “And I was a little confused because I had never seen him before.”

“I had about maybe ten people in the interview,” another source described the reinterview process with Wade. “Nathan definitely was up moving around and taking charge in the room. Wade hired the entire office of 250 employees,” the person said. “I was just telling him my employment background, and they just sit there and looked at me and they said well, ‘you’ll get an email on our decision.’ And that’s what Wade said. And he looked at Willis. They looked at each other. And there was just something so weird going on.”

that would eventually get on my nerves. when mine was down to the middle of my backs, i would french braid it…wear it in a bun or pigtails
