What Shall We Make Today?

Today’s offering is an easy (!) Chicken Noodle Soup. I found this recipe at Land o Lakes website when I was looking for low-sodium alternates. I haven’t tried this one yet, but it seemed simple enough.

Ingredients

2 cups cubed cooked chicken

3 (14.5-ounce) cans low sodium chicken broth

3 medium (1 1/2 cups) carrots, sliced

2 ribs (1 cup) celery, sliced

1 small (1/2 cup) onion, chopped

2 cups uncooked dried wide egg noodles

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Salt

Pepper

Directions

STEP 1

Combine all ingredients except egg noodles, parsley, salt and pepper in 4-quart saucepan. Cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, 5-8 minutes or until mixture just comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, 10-15 minutes or until carrots are tender.

STEP 2

Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Stir hot cooked noodles into hot soup mixture. Sprinkle with parsley. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

ENJOY!

    1. Not for me….

“E. Jean Carroll’s Lawyer Says They’re Looking to Sue Trump a 3rd Time.

      E. Jean Carroll‘s attorney, Shawn Crowley, indicated on Monday night that the former Elle columnist and rape obsessive might sue former President Donald Trump a third time.

Crowley made the comments during an interview with Jen Psaki on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” after Trump said at a Michigan rally over the weekend that he didn’t know Carrol, had done nothing wrong to her, and that the lawsuits against him were “unfair.”

“What he said was absolutely a lie,” Crowley claimed. “Two unanimous federal juries have found that not only did Trump know who E. Jean was, he sexually assaulted her and lied about it repeatedly. Everything he said about her over the last five years has been a lie and has been defamatory,” Crowley asserted.

Last month, a jury in New York awarded Carroll an $83 million settlement in a defamation lawsuit against Trump after he repeatedly denied her unsubstantiated claims that the former President sexually assaulted her at a Bergdorf Goodman department store. Carroll repeatedly changed the date of the alleged assault and has a history of leveling similar accusations against other men. Her accusations against Trump also closely mirrored an episode of  Law and Order: SVU that aired a few years before she went public with her ‘story.’”

      1. thanks Filly!!

i think HE should counter sue HER!!! she’s claiming sexual assault but can’t even remember the YEAR!!! accusing someone of sexual assault/rape is DEFAMATION of character. she is claiming it although there has never been a trial and he has never been charged. she should have to pay up. Melania should sue her too

  1. SCOTUS denies Colorado’s disqualification of President Trump.

    FTA

In conclusion, the Supreme Court’s ruling in Trump v. Anderson, denying Colorado’s disqualification of Trump under the 14th amendment, marks a pivotal moment in U.S. politics. With potential consequences for political instability, voter disenfranchisement, and public violence, the verdict opens a new chapter in the ongoing debate over the judiciary’s role in electoral matters. Amidst this, Justice Kavanaugh’s influence within the court emerges as a beacon of interest, shaping not only the immediate future of the Supreme Court’s docket but also the broader narrative of American jurisprudence.

  2. “MAGA’s Punching Bag”
    CLANDESTINE
    FEB 20, 2024

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “If Nikki wants to hang around and remain MAGA’s punching bag, she is more than welcome. She is keeping Trump voters engaged during primary season, and continually proves Trump to be a far superior candidate by juxtaposition

Her very presence confirms the establishment’s desperation to keep Trump out of office. She stands zero chance of winning, and only remains in the hope that Trump gets thrown in prison or removed from the ballot.

Her social media posts may be the cringiest thing you’ve ever seen, but it’s become an American pastime to ratio every Nikki Haley post. It’s a team-building exercise that is bringing many Americans together, and shifting GOP voters away from the Neocon days of old.

All in all, having Nikki around is not a bad thing. In fact, it’s a good thing. She might be annoying, but she poses no legitimate threat, helps us wake normies, and provides the Trump base with good sport to keep us engaged and motivated leading into November.”

Student charged with double homicide in dorm-room slaying at University of Colorado in Colorado Springs

The Post Millennial, February 20, 2024, By Jarryd Jaeger

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “A man has been arrested in connection with a double homicide that occurred in a dorm room at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs last week.

Nicholas Jordan, a 25-year-old Detroit native enrolled at the school, was taken into custody on Monday and subsequently charged with first degree murder for the deaths of fellow student Sam Knopp, 24, and single mother Celine Rain Montgomery, 26.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the incident took place shortly before 6am on Friday February 16 at UCCS’ Crestone House. Campus police received reports of gunfire coming from one of the dorm rooms, and upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Knopp and Montgomery, both of whom were pronounced dead.

An arrest warrant for Jordan was obtained later that day, and officers from the CSPD’s Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force began their search. The suspect was located inside a vehicle on Cliff Point Circle East shortly before 8am on Monday by members of the CSPD’s Motor Vehicle Theft Unit, and arrested “without incident” 40 minutes later. He is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail on $1 million bond.

The CSPD explained that this appears to have been an isolated incident where the victims and suspect knew each other, adding that there was no threat to others. As the BBC reports, the school cancelled classes on Monday and held a “healing” walk to begin the process of “rebuilding trust and safety of our campus.”

Both Knopp and Montgomery were Colorado natives, however as the Daily Mail reports, their relationship is unclear. The former had been studying music at the university, while the latter was a freelance copywriter in the health and wellness sector and had two young children.

Upon hearing that there had been a shooting at the school, Knopp’s mother took to Facebook to express her concern.

“PLEASE EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE BUT IT’S THE GODDAMNED GUNS!” she said before learning that her son had been killed. “This hits way too close to home and it makes me want to vomit. All the ‘thoughts and prayers’ in the world mean nothing without action to back them up.”

  4. ….sigh…I’m going to kill Jake yet!!! His habit of hovering/laying right near my feet almost made me fall on my ass! If you recall, I mentioned wanting to de-clutter so I noticed something on my file cabinet that I wanted to send to you, Pat – that’s all ready to go and I will send it tomorrow.

I decided to look for other things that specific people might be interested in and was perusing the items in my china closet. Jake, of course, had laid down right up behind me and when I stepped back, I stepped on his tail, at which point he jumped up, and then I stepped on him….I fell into the china closet, which shook it badly enough that 2 pictures on top fell, with the glass shattering in one of them. Grrrrrr….I just spent 1/2 an hour picking up glass pieces!

Needless to say, Jake is BACK on my shit list!!!! I’m gonna kill him one day!!!

    1. oh gees!!
that’s terrible. does he cuddle up with you on the chair? or does he just like your feet?
the other day after hubby installed the shower bars we heard a loud noise we couldn’t identify. he opened the fridge to get a bottle of wine and a can of biscuits was fallen on the shelf. he thought it was that. when i went into the bathroom right after that i saw a piece of what i thought was plastic on the bath mat–and asked where he thought it might have come from?
he was puzzled…i was puzzled…but i got the vac and a flashlight to see if there was more on the bathroom floor…there was.
and it was glass. apparently the light bulb in the ceiling light/exhaust fan burst and little pieces of glass fell thru the vents…
      what a mess

      1. Oh, shit! What would cause that??? Get too hot? No, he’s too big to cuddle – WAY too big! But he will sometimes lie next to me, alongside my legs in my recliner. Usually, he is on the back of the loveseat, where he can see out the front windows, as well as the entire room.

      1. I know. This is crazy! I’ve got the fricking patio door open and Jake is enjoying the sun on the patio. But the sun is losing some heat now, temp has dropped to 70 and the door will be closed again soon.

          1. Just know that it won’t – at least it shouldn’t – last for long. But so far, even the 10 day forecast is warm. The thing to remember, tho, about NE – it can flip on a dime! As they say…just wait 24 hours! LOL

    1. Groundbreaking Global Study on 99 Million Vaccinated People Reveals Increases in Neurological, Blood, and Heart Conditions Associated with COVID-19 Vaccines

      https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/02/groundbreaking-global-study-99-million-vaccinated-people-reveals/

The study, spanning multiple countries, aimed to evaluate adverse events of special interest (AESI) following COVID-19 vaccination, providing crucial insights into vaccine safety.

Some of the countries included in the study are:

      Denmark
      New Zealand
      Argentina
      Canada (Ontario and British Columbia)
      Finland
Australia (New South Wales and Victoria)
      Scotland

Here’s what the study found about how certain health issues showed up after people got their COVID-19 vaccines:
      Neurological Conditions:

After getting the first dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, there was a noticeable increase in Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), where the body’s immune system attacks its nerves.
Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), a rare brain and spinal cord inflammation, also popped up more than expected after the first Moderna vaccine dose.
Other neurological issues like transverse myelitis (spinal cord inflammation), Bell’s palsy (facial paralysis), and seizures also occurred more than usual after some doses of these vaccines.
      Blood Clot and Platelet Conditions:

The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine first dose was linked to more cases of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), a type of blood clot in the brain, than expected.
There were also more instances of low platelet counts and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs) after some doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna vaccines.
Some vaccines also led to an increase in splanchnic vein thrombosis (SVT), another type of blood clot, after certain doses, but these findings didn’t signal a major safety concern according to the study’s criteria.
      Heart Conditions:

Cases of myocarditis (heart inflammation) were significantly higher than expected after the first, second, and third doses of mRNA vaccines (like Pfizer and Moderna).
Pericarditis (inflammation of the heart’s outer layer) cases also exceeded expectations after some doses of the Moderna vaccine and after the third dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine.
These heart-related findings were considered important safety signals that need attention.
What this means: The study noticed that after getting certain COVID-19 vaccine doses, some people experienced health issues like nerve and heart problems, or blood clots more than what was expected by the so-called experts.
