What Shall We Bake Today?

Today’s offering is Banana Bundt cake from Southern Living—which combines the goodness of banana bread with the richness of a bundt cake!

Banana Bundt Cake

Ingredients

Cake

Baking spray with flour

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon table salt

3/4 cup salted butter, softened

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup packed light brown sugar

4 large eggs, at room temperature

1/2 cup whole milk, at room temperature

1 cup mashed very ripe bananas

1 cup chopped toasted pecans

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Glaze

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional Ingredient

Chopped toasted pecans

Directions

Prepare the Cake:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 16-cup Bundt pan generously with baking spray. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.

Beat butter and cream cheese until creamy, about 1 to 2 minutes.

Gradually add granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes.

Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition.

Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture, beating on low speed just until blended after each addition.

Beat in bananas, pecans, and vanilla just until combined.

Spoon batter into prepared pan, and spread evenly.

Bake the Cake:

Bake in preheated oven until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 hour. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Loosen edges of cake from sides of pan using an offset spatula; carefully remove from pan, and invert onto wire rack.

Cool completely, about 2 hours.

Prepare the Glaze:

Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a medium bowl until completely smooth. Spoon Glaze over top of cooled Cake, allowing Glaze to drip down sides. Garnish with chopped toasted pecans. Let stand 30 minutes before slicing.

ENJOY!

I made this bundt cake last week. Very rich, moist and delicious! a lot of work versus my basic banana bread recipe–which is a put all the ingredients in a bowl, mix and pour into the pan recipe. But i will make this for special occasions.
we didn’t have a temperature this morning. it was 0.

    1. Looks fabulous – and very versatile – could also make it with applesauce or chopped apples, and/or orange zest, nuts and cranberries. Or carrots and even zucchini!

    1. DC was bad enough way back in the late ’70’s/’80’s when I was going there but then it was well known which neighborhoods weren’t safe. Unless you wanted something specific that can be found in those neighborhoods, people stayed away from them. Want hookers and peep shows? Just take a turn down 14th street – they were all there. I can imagine how much it has spread by now!!!

🧵 1. Those who enter the U.S. without papers and apply for asylum are supposed to be detained until their claims can be adjudicated. That doesn’t happen under Biden.
    2. Biden gives them a plane ticket, a work permit, and a mild suggestion that they show up for their immigration hearing, which might take place sometime in the mid-2030s.
    3. This works out nicely for the drug cartels, who make billions of dollars smuggling millions humans into the United States, turning them into indentured servants and in some cases subjecting them to sex slavery. It’s really bad for everyone outside the drug-cartel world.
    4. Biden speaks as though he’s the victim of our asylum laws—suggesting that he has no choice but to handle asylum applications this way, and that he has no power to restrict the flow of illegal immigrants without a change in law. That’s simply not true.
    5. The president and DHS secretary have full discretion to stop processing asylum applications whenever they choose, as the asylum laws say they “may” grant asylum applications when the conditions are met. There is no “shall” language.
    6. They should certainly stop processing those applications whenever they run out of bed space or timely processing capacity.
    7. Asylum laws are not a border-specific suicide pact. We should stop thinking of them as if they were.

Worth the six minutes folks, this guy is such bad news.

Oh, and the Nano-Particles he sold? That was the component in the Vaxx that created those long white fibrous clots within arteries and vessels that coroner’s were freaking out about, not to mention people were dying over.

He’s also a Tech-Inside-You kind of guy, CBDC under your skin. WTH?

Oh, and the bit about supposedly being involuntarily drafted by the WEF and having to fight to get his name out of their website? Yeah, he was using that relationship as a selling point during his highly improbable wheeling and dealing in windfall riches, he was in their club, conducted panels there, profited of of it, and was promptly and politely removed with an apology from them when it was time to play spoiler I mean American I mean MAGA.

Flood gates are open folks, “influencers”, hope you’re getting paid well while the pain endures!

  6. what’s gonna be ultra maggot’s main priority if re-elected? abortion.
    FTA
What would President Biden’s top priority be should he be awarded a second term in office? Well, according to his campaign manager, the president is “adamant” to “restore Roe.” Yup. Quentin Fulks, Biden’s principal deputy campaign manager, recently told Kristen Welker, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, that abortion would be the commander-in-chief’s “top priority” if he is returned to the White House.

  7. “How Does An Iowa Caucus Work? The Bee’s Step-By-Step Guide”
    POLITICS · Jan 14, 2024 · BabylonBee.com

“With the Iowa Caucus upon us, you may find yourself wondering – what on earth is a caucus? The Babylon Bee has broken it down with a step-by-step guide of what goes down on Caucus day:

    1. The caucus begins with an opening ceremony, followed by the famous “Running of the Heifers”: Like Spain’s version, only in slow motion.

    2. Voters cast ballots by tossing an ear of corn into a candidate’s bucket: Cows and other livestock also receive half an ear of corn, which they may use for eating or voting.

    3. Voters may then steal votes from rival candidates’ buckets by challenging their supporters to a tractor pull: Just as the Founders envisioned.

    4. At noon, the candidates arrive to wrestle the state’s biggest 4H hog for the chance at bonus votes: The hog is on a long winning streak, with his last loss surprisingly being to Jeb!

    5. In the afternoon, supporters race to carve a butter sculpture of their candidate: No votes are at stake, but it’s pretty impressive what these people can do with butter.

    6. Dancing begins when polls close, with every male getting a chance to square dance with the lady candidate: Get in line, fellas.

    7. Everyone gets to play baseball with ghosts while the votes are tallied: Perfect way to kill time.

    8. Candidates must navigate a corn maze to the stage where the final tally will be revealed: Word has it that John Kasich is still somewhere out in the maze.

    9. Trump is then declared the winner by 30 points: Tradition is tradition!

We hope this helps explain the complex political process known as “caucusing”. Get excited, Iowa!”

  8. “Secret Service Assures Public None Of The Protesters Outside White House Were Wearing MAGA Hats”
    U.S. · Jan 14, 2024 · BabylonBee.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Secret Service announced that after a thorough investigation, none of the protesters outside of the White House this past week were wearing MAGA hats.

“Rest assured, not a single person shaking the fences outside the White House was wearing Trump paraphernalia,” said Officer Stan Wiggins. “We can all sleep sound knowing that the crowd chanting for the mass murder of innocents contained absolutely zero Republicans.”

In conjunction with Secret Service, the Capitol Police deployed temporary fencing outside the White House gates to give authorities more time to scan for Trump supporters. Fortunately, no MAGA hats were seen and thus no arrests were made during the protest.

At publishing time, the FBI announced that a tactical unit had successfully stormed a nursing home to arrest 86-year-old dementia patient Norman Rickett, who reportedly wandered up to the Capitol doorway on January 6th.”

  9. so the guy in vermont who shot 3 muslims was not pro trump, pro israel at all…
    FTA

Eaton had been described as “that hippie guy” and “progressive”, an organic farmer who had posted a meme with a definition of “Amerika” that called it “the worst sense of the United States, ie imperialism, corruption and the global exportation of American culture.”

He appeared to be a Biden supporter

Media outlets, anti-Israel activists and politicians attributed the shootings to the Hamas war. Everyone from Biden and Kamala on down emphasized the “Palestinian” identities of those shot and implied that Eaton had attacked them because he was opposed to the ‘Palestinian’ cause.

    In reality, Eaton supported Hamas.

On December 6, Seven Days, a local news outlet known for breaking stories about local politics, revealed that Eaton had tweeted, “the notion that Hamas is ‘evil’ for defending their state from occupation is absurd. They are owed a state. Pay up.”

Responding to an article about a proposed ceasefire, he wrote, “What if someone occupied your country? Wouldn’t you fight them?”

  10. “This Is How the Powers-That-Be Achieve Their Evil Goals: By Compromising Useful Idiots in Power. The thin line between fearmongering and ringing the righteous alarm bells is fading. If it’s real, then we cannot be worried about being called a “Chicken Little.”
    JD RUCKER
    JAN 15, 2024
    (Video)
“The video by journalist Tayler Hansen of uniformed San Antonio Police officers working for Non-Government Organizations to facilitate human trafficking is one of the most important stories in a long time. Unfortunately, it will get zero coverage from corporate media which is why it is incumbent on American patriots to spread the word.

This isn’t just about the law being broken or law enforcement being compromised. It isn’t just about our sovereignty being stolen through the border invasion or the human toll being ignored as women and children are raped incessantly on their way to grab what Joe Biden promised them. All of that is important but there’s a subtext here that must be understood.

Some Americans are waking up. I don’t know if it’s 0.1%, 1%, or 10%, but it’s not nearly enough. The biggest obstacle to getting “normies” to appreciate that the powers-that-be are working against us is making them suspend disbelief in the scope of the conspiracy. Sadly, Americans have been trained to think “crazy” when they hear the word “conspiracy” but the reality is this: There ARE those conspiring against us.

Understanding that the scope is tremendous is a prerequisite for people to wake up to the reality of our situation. If they believe that most in power are simply greedy, then they’ll miss the heart-wrenching truth that the people with the real power want us either completely under their control or dead. The depopulation and control agenda is happening around us and the biggest reason people fail to see it is because they cannot accept a scenario in which the Powers and Principalities really do have everything they need to make it happen.

Far too many assume that if really bad things are being done then someone will stop it. They cannot grasp a world in which corporate media is completely compromised. They cannot fathom a society in which any “good” politicians are removed and the handful with honor who are allowed to stay are neutered. They cannot accept that an army of unsuspecting useful idiots are helping to bring about their own demise.

The cops depicted in this video aren’t thinking about the damage they’re doing to their own community and their own nation. They see a sweet gig in which they get to sit around with no risks and make a lot of money. They probably get paid more to be NGO security guards than they do when they’re actually putting their lives on the line for the sake of a citizenry that doesn’t appreciate them.

To suspend disbelief in the systematic destruction of our nation requires Americans to realize just how much power is being wielded around us. They need to realize that it doesn’t take a million globalists to subvert the foundations of our country. It takes a few thousand dedicated people in power plus a whole lot of useful idiots like these San Antonio cops.

Until more Americans understand this harsh reality, they will still be expecting someone else to save them. Until more Americans wake up, they will not be preparing themselves for the fight that’s coming.”

  11. Just watched the AM Siouxland News – NE got the worst of the blizzard vs. IA. We still have a bunch of roads that are impassable. Most up here are green on the map but that’s only the main highways. Broke an IA record on daytime lows @-9. Forecast says next week temps should be up in the 30’s, above freezing during the day. Yeah! Bring on the melt!

Well, DeSantis refused Matt (and a guy in a wheelchair) entry into an event last night.

The Trump Campaign heard about it and this is what happened:

    THE PROPAGANDA PRESS: WAPO EDITION

    – Early January: The Biden campaign organized a series of “off the record trips for top political reporters.”

NYT, WAPO and other media orgs were included. The campaign allegedly used the meetings to let the media know “what they’re getting wrong.”

    – January 12: Biden lets the media know that the economy is great, but he’s just not getting the credit.

    – January 14: WAPO employs six writers to let its readers know that the economy is great, but Joe Biden just isn’t getting the credit.

Corporate media exists to serve as a propaganda arm for the DNC and the Biden administration.

For 2024, they will be taking direct orders from the Biden campaign, and executing those orders dutifully.

However much you hate corporate media, it isn’t enough.

  15. I was all bundled up and walked out to my mailbox to put something in it before heading to Casey’s. Lois’ daughter and SIL had been here and gone so I decided a walk was going to be required. When I went out to my mailbox, I saw that they had come back and he came over to me and offered to run up and get my cigs for me. So nice – I said I could give him my CC and he said he’d get them and I could pay him the next time they’re here. I tried calling Casey’s to see what the price would be so I could have the check ready but they’ve installed a new, automated phone system and I never could get thru to them. I’ll just leave a check with Lois unless he wants to come in and wait – I expect he won’t. Saved again by a great neighbor!

      1. I thought they lived here in town but they live out in the country, almost 15 miles, and had huge drifts he had to clear first. I’ve watched and over the last couple of years, they have been johnny on the spot at taking care of Oran and Lois. They even bring them their meals every day since Lois can’t stand well enough to cook. They’re really great kids! I told Lois that when I took the check over. I will no longer grumble when I see them bringing their trash to put in Lois’ bin – they deserve it and there is no trash service out in the country.

When he asked who was voting for one of the top 4, they got a few cheers for Vivek, a few more for Nikki, and more for ConRon, but the cheer that went up when he said Trump totally overwhelmed them.

  17. “Palpable Panic: Intelligence Community Tailors Narrative to Remove Trump for 2024—American voters didn’t run FROM TRUMP, instead they ran TO TRUMP”
    POLITICAL MOONSHINE
    JAN 15, 2024

EXCERPT: “The panic is palpable and the general, persistent never-Trump narrative has recently been tailored by the Intelligence Community to augment and refine the context behind it. Two new developments indicate how the narrative is being tailored. Until now, the incessant gaslighting of the American people has centered on an entrapment operation at the U.S. Capitol to generate an “insurrection” narrative that goes down two primary lanes.

The first lane is the removal of President Trump for being a felon who engaged in the act of “insurrection” and who is plausibly subject to removal from the ballot by means of the 14th Amendment; for other matters of constructed Trump criminality featured in a wide slate of multi-state indictments; and for defending a patently stolen 2020 election.

The second lane is the broader attack on a Marxist regime’s political enemies bridging from the Capitol “insurrection” to over 100 million Trump, conservative, Christian and MAGA “voters” by targeting and prosecuting them with FBI/DOJ using a carefully constructed extra-constitutional schematic that relies upon terms like “domestic terrorism” and “domestic terrorist” to legally trigger extra-constitutional power and authority to prosecute.

On its face, all of this bears the hallmarks of partisan politics; albeit in historically unprecedented ways. In reality, though, it’s all a carefully produced show written and directed by the Intelligence Community. The problem is that the show has encountered a contextual glitch and the audience isn’t buying it anymore, so planned revisions are being plugged-into the show to revise, augment and tailor the script as necessary….”
