Do you have dry hair, hands, scalp, or skin? If there’s one thing that we love, it’s making our own natural remedies and treatments. Check out these fantastic recipes that will restore and liven up your hair, face, and skin—and not break the bank.
Remedies for Dry Hair
Weekly Conditioner for Fly-Away Hair
Try a weekly deep-conditioning. For a rich conditioning treatment that you’d pay $30 to $100 for at a salon, mix a couple of tablespoons of olive, coconut, or castor oil with 1/2 cup of full-fat mayonnaise (alternatively: a ripe, mashed avocado) and massage into your hair and scalp. Then, wrap your hair in a large plastic grocery bag and top it off with a warm, dry towel for about 30 minutes. Wash and rinse as usual (but sometimes twice is needed to remove the oil).
Moisturizing Leave-in Conditioner
Mix two parts water, one part witch hazel, two parts vegetable glycerin (a natural moisturizer available online or in health/natural food stores), and a tablespoon of olive or other cooking oil per cup of liquid in a spray bottle. If you have aloe vera gel on hand, add one part to the mixture. A few drops of essential oil will give you a scented product. Spritz on wet or dry hair before styling.
More Body and Bounce

Mayonnaise, straight from the jar, will make hair soft and shiny. The egg nourishes brittle hair with protein, while the vinegar gives it body and bounce.
Try this mixture to regain supple hair: Mix one teaspoon of powdered brewers’ yeast with four ounces of apple cider vinegar to create an after-wash rinse. Pour it over wet hair and let stand at least a minute before rinsing.
Oily Hair and Skin
Add one teaspoon baking soda to two ounces of your shampoo. This works as an alkali to absorb excess oil.
Baking soda works the same way with skin, it will absorb oil and also neutralize excess acid in your skin. Make a paste with baking soda and water.
Try lemon juice as an astringent facial cleanser.
Remedies for Dry Hands and Nails
Let’s start with some good tips and basics on keeping your hands from getting dry and cracked.
Add moisturizer right after you wash your hands. Apply when your skin is a little wet to help it hang on to some of the water.
Avoid any alcohol-based cleansers on your skin. Consider liquid soap that contains moisturizers.
Use the right moisturizer! Look for products that list ceramides (oils), dimethicone (a type of silicone), and shea butter to provide a good seal for your hands. The thicker the cream, the better.

If you polish your nails, find an acetone-free polish remover, as acetone is a serious drying agent.
It goes without saying that you need to wear gloves when using any harsh or chemical ingredient to clean the house.
Also make sure to wear gloves or mittens when you go outside to prevent the dry winter air from drawing moisture from your hands and nails.
If your hands get so dry that they crack, be careful of infection. Clean the area with hydrogen peroxide and apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment.
Some dermatologists suggest coating hands and nails with Vaseline or another strong barrier and wearing cotton gloves overnight to treat dry nails and cuticles.
To prevent brittle nails and ragged cuticles, try this handmade cuticle massage:

Cuticle Massage:
5 red seedless grapes
1 tablespoon sugar
Wash the grapes, then slice them in half widthwise. Dip the cut side into the sugar. Using half a grape for each finger, massage the skin around each fingernail for about 30 seconds each. Wipe off the excess sugar with a soft towel, then rub hand cream onto hands and cuticles.
Remedies for Dry, Itchy Skin
Again, let’s start out with some basic tips on caring for your skin so that it doesn’t become dry and itchy.
Apply moisturize every day or even twice a day if you are over 40. Apply immediately after showering or bathing when your skin is still a little damp. Do not scrub skin dry.
Choose a lotion brand that has petroleum jelly or lanolin high on the ingredients list.
For super-dry skin, use olive oil. Rub it in prior to a bath or shower. You may substitute peanut, sesame or sunflower oil.

Avoid steaming hot water or lengthy immersions, which will strip your skin of its natural oils. Dermatologists suggest taking shorter baths or showers in warm (not hot) water. If you have severe dry skin problems, keep your showers to no longer than 5 minutes and use lukewarm water.
Use a mild, glycerin-based soap. And stay away from hair or skin-care products that contain any forms of alcohol, which are drying agents.
Wash gently. Vigorous scrubbing can further irritate sensitive skin. Gently clean around the “fold” areas of your skin—underarms, neck, and groin—and feet. Use very little, if any soap, on your trunk and limbs.
Don’t go outside in any season without using SPF of at least 15 on your face and hands.
To soften dry skin, add 1 cup powdered milk to your bath. (It worked for Cleopatra, supposedly.)
Try adding lemon juice or vinegar to your bathwater. Soap, being highly alkaline, may make your skin feel itchy.
Oatmeal Bath for Itchy Skin

If you have itchy skin, try a soothing oatmeal bath.
Blend one cup of oats in a food processor or blender. Run a lukewarm bath (NOT hot). Pour the oat into the warm water and stir. Soak in bath for 15 to 20 minutes and very gently rub into skin.
Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry. While skin is still moist, apply a hypoallergenic moisturizing cream.
A quart of milk in a hot bath is a luxury as well as a skin toner. It’s a trick nearly as old as time.
Homemade Oatmeal Scrub
For a homemade scrub, mix ground oats and honey. Rub all over your face—especially your nose. The abrasive will remove dry, scaly skin while the honey seeps in as a moisturizer. Rinse completely off and pat dry, and your skin will be glowing and baby soft. Only use this remedy once a week.

Morning All
i woke to the sounds of thuds. came downstairs and turned on the lights–all okay in here. heard it again and turned on the outside lights…heavy snow was dangling precariously on the roof edge. I thought it all came down yesterday after i shoveled. i was wrong! quite a nasty little pile i have waiting for me when it gets light.

Morning, Pat! Yep, got a good bit of snow overnight but IDK how much yet. Some blew onto the patio as well. Once it gets light, I’ll get a couple of pics. All the roads in our area are completely snow-covered; we’re in a lull right now but it will pick up again later, with 1″/hour coming from the south. We might have a break in the snow mid-morning but it will pick up again. Hopefully, by 2 pm tomorrow, this will have moved out. No sign of Wheezer yet. Crap! I’m on the top edge of the area they are predicting “isolated 12 inches!” Wind gusts 25-30 MPH, and possibly up to 40 MPH tomorrow evening into Wednesday.
Jeez! Low temps coming in the negative numbers, too! High of 12 on Thursday, 6 on Friday, and -2 on Saturday. -1 on Sunday!!! More light snow showers up until Saturday, too. Somehow, I don’t think I’ll be getting my BF minis on Wednesday!

You can drive the tractor, right? Got chains on it? LOL – yeah, our temps are going to go up to right about the freezing mark, leading to a LOT of very slick roads! And because of the moisture, it will be very heavy snow. So glad I don’t have to worry any time soon about going anywhere! Gee, I’m guessing they won’t be picking up trash tomorrow (not that I planned on putting mine out anyway – I’ve still got a couple of weeks before I’ll need to do that).

no i can’t. I can’t even drive the dang truck. and he’s supposed to see a doctor in the little town over tomorrow as a follow up. and then we got to get to the post office to get the nebulizer we ordered so he can start using it with the med they sent home…freaking mess all the way around.

Oh shit!!!……nope, sorry, can’t come up with any solutions….if you had some neighbors who could help out….is there no-one on your mountain who could pick up your mail for you at least? My Mom’s doc wrote a script for the nebulizer and we went by the pharmacy on our way home and picked it up. Considering how much $$$ those hospitals make and your remote location, they should have given you one! And why can’t you drive the truck????

I learned to drive in my Dad’s huge 4-door late 1950’s Ford Galaxy called “The Black Orchid.” That was the one we used as a battering ram thru the snow to get tracklines in the driveway so we could get our new Ford Galaxy out. Yes, I’ve been a Ford person since waaaay back!
The first car I bought was a 1965 4-door Buick Electra but the first standard transmission auto I taught myself to drive was a VW Beetle! LOL – I’m all over the map but for most of my adult years, it has been Ford Rangers – my all-time-top favorite vehicle.

My future first hubby came over in the wee hours of the morning and cleaned out the beer/wine bottles…LOL. I woke up scared shitless that Dad would see them and voila! They were gone! Gotta give the asswipe credit for that, at least! One thing I never could figure out is why my dog, Midnight, didn’t bark! The car was no more than 40 feet from his doghouse!

Our Take: “Breaking: Jeffrey Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself. One of modernity’s biggest villains has been in focus recently, as unsealed court documents that further implicate former President Bill Clinton in (one of) the pedophile island horrors dominate the national conversation. We are also getting a new first hand account of his death and cover up — from his brother Mark Epstein. Mark did not appear on camera.
Despite the regime’s attempt to water down who is buying kids, and overwhelm truth with noise, we may well get the ultimate reveals on this. Here, Tucker is reminding us that they still have so much to answer for, and this interview is a good refresher on the Epstein story in less than half an hour.
I’m not holding my breath that we’ll get the truth on this, but I’m not blackpilled on it. Clinton being on the plane used to be a conspiracy theory, and now it’s accepted as truth. ’Anyone who could murder someone in a federal detention facility obviously has a lot of power,’ Tucker said.
Indeed. So, why now?” — Ashe in America

https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/supreme-court-takes-up-trump-ballot-disqualification-case-5559446
EXCERPT: “The U.S. Supreme Court accepted a petition for immediate review regarding a Colorado Supreme Court decision to strike former President Donald Trump from the 2024A presidential ballot. “The petition for a writ of certiorari is granted,” reads the procedural order. Oral arguments are scheduled for Feb. 8. Petitioners’ and amicus briefs are due by Jan. 18, and respondents’ and amicus briefs are due by Jan. 31, with any reply briefs due by Feb. 5.
The Colorado Supreme Court had disqualified President Trump as a candidate on Dec. 19 in an order that left little chance for the actual removal of his name from the ballot. On Dec. 27, the Colorado GOP filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court asking three separate questions regarding the application of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and political parties’ First Amendment rights to primary their candidate of choice.
On Jan. 3, President Trump filed a separate petition with a simpler question: Did the Colorado Supreme Court err in its ruling? The U.S. Supreme Court has taken up President Trump’s petition, and has yet to accept to reject the Colorado GOP’s petition.” — The Epoch Times
Our Take: “‘The Colorado court has unleashed harms which will creep beyond Colorado’s borders.’
Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but the CO GOP Petition is so well written, I can’t believe Chris Murray wrote it. I’m still a little surprised he’s fighting this case. And he’s crushing Gessler’s prior two failures with his argument in seeking SCOTUS review.
Chris Murray is the CO GOP attorney that works for Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber and Shreck (BHFS). BHFS is the registered lobbyist for Dominion Voting Systems. Things are weirdly incestuous in our elections industry, and it would be great if we could strip the special interests and profit motivations and return to precinct-level elections controlled locally.
Over the weekend, hysteria reigned again with clickbait that Jena Griswold said she wasn’t going to count Trump’s votes. She didn’t say that. What she did say is that if the supremes decide that the Colorado court did not err, upholding their decision to remove him from the ballot, then he would be disqualified and his votes would not count.
Breaking: Jena Griswold said she is going to follow the law. As I’ve been saying, they are way ahead of us in the Centennial state. Colorado law states that only ballots for “qualified” candidates can be counted.
This decision will impact a lot of candidates, by the way. It’s all about the insurrection finding, which must be found to be improper. All eyes on SCOTUS.” — Ashe in America
LikeLiked by 1 person
since the “insurrection finding” was done by a lower court judge without a trial or jury deciding it, i don’t see how it has any merit at all. the judge has no authority to accuse and convict someone.

“Will Orbán be ’emperor’ of Europe? Brussels fears scenario where he controls EU Council presidency. The current Council president will run as an MEP candidate in the May EP elections”

January 08, 2024
editor: REMIX NEWS author: MAGYAR NEMZET
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “European Council President Charles Michel has confirmed that he will stand in the European Parliament elections. If elected, the presidency would remain vacant, and under the current rules, the member state holding the rotating presidency — Hungary after the elections — would chair the meetings.
Charles Michel has confirmed to several Belgian newspapers that he will run in the European Parliament elections. This is the first time that the incumbent president of the European Council has stood as a candidate in an EP election.
The position was only created in 2009, when the Lisbon Treaty introduced it to the European Union. The role of a permanent president was introduced precisely to ensure “continuity” in the EU’s ambitions. The main criticisms, however, are that it undermines diversity and equal representation among member states — even though it was created to ensure these very goals.
“That scenario — an unchecked Orbán ruling the Council roost for the six months directly after the 2024 European election — is one most of the other 26 leaders of EU countries would be desperate to avoid, given escalating tensions between them and Orbán, for example over the Union’s support for Ukraine and Hungary’s rule-of-law infractions,” Politico writes.
The president of the European Council is elected by the European Council by a qualified majority. The next president will be elected in June, during the next institutional term, together with other appointments to senior posts.
The rules of procedure of the European Council provide that, if the term of office of the president expires, he or she will be replaced, if necessary in the absence of a successor, by the member of the European Council representing the member state holding the six-monthly Council presidency.
However, at the end of an information pack sent to journalists by the Council, it was stressed that these rules can be amended by a simple majority. So, if the fear of Viktor Orbán strikes a chord, the whole procedure could be changed.”

“Who’s the U-Boat Commander? Ghislaine Maxwell, of Course”

ERIK CARLSON
JAN 8, 2024
EXCERPT: “If you grew up in the 1980s, you might recognize the title from a line in the 1983 Tom Cruise movie Risky Business. Cruise’s character, a hard-working and responsible high school senior named Joel Goodsen—obviously a take on the “good son”—is left home alone in his family’s Chicago suburban upper-middle class home while his parents go on vacation for a week. Sounds a little like Macaulay Culkin’s Home Alone, except in this case, Joel Goodsen was intentionally left home alone.
With his temporary independence and through the bad influence of a high school friend, Joel’s life quickly goes “off the rails”. He sleeps with a prostitute in his family’s house. He discovers his mother’s expensive crystal egg is stolen, and in the process of getting it back, he is stalked by Guido the Killer Pimp, resulting in his dad’s prize Porsche ending up at the bottom of Lake Michigan. To raise the money to fix the damages to the Porsche, Joel decides to bring in a bunch of his new prostitute girlfriend’s colleagues to create a “pop up” brothel at his parent’s house while they are still away.
Needless to say, things don’t go according to plan. The whole situation kind of reminds me of a young Jeffrey Epstein and his “gal pal,” Ghislaine Maxwell—minus the blackmailing of powerful people, of course. And I should probably point out that I don’t believe Maxwell was Epstein’s “sidekick”; I believe she was, in fact his handler.
Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine’s father, was a former member of the British Parliament and military and is believed to have worked with the MOSSAD, Israel’s version of the CIA. I believe Ghislaine, also British, worked in a similar role as her dad for the MOSSAD. I believe Epstein was likely an over-sexed pervert who wanted to be rich, seem important, and have the ability to pursue his perversions unimpeded. This arrangement was a perfect fit.
I believe Jeffery Epstein was the “face” of the blackmail operation. He was used to lure people in. The targets were US politicians, CEOs, influential members of the media, and scientists. US politicians were blackmailed to control the US government, control policies, where tax dollars go, and which foreign entities they go to. CEOs have the money and the media controls the narrative. But what about the scientists? If you control the scientists, you control science.
If you control the science, you control the climate change hoax. Is it a coincidence that “climate change” as a concept went into high gear around the time Epstein’s blackmail operation began? Oh, and who was the face of climate change at the time? That’s right—Al Gore, Bill Clinton’s vice president—both allegedly connected to Epstein. Again, coincidence?
Ghislaine Maxwell has been “sold” to us as Epstein’s girlfriend who later became just a friend who happened to procure underage girls to satisfy his insatiable needs and perversions. Most people are probably now more willing to accept that she was much more involve—and in charge—of the blackmail operation than was once believed.
I find that there are too many connections between Jeffrey Epstein, Israeli leaders and other Jewish billionaire businessmen to refuse exploring the possibility that he and his operation were working with the MOSSAD and other intelligence agencies, blackmailing people of power and influence. Israel has received a lot of financial and military support from the US and Americans over the years. Have US politicians and powerful Americans been blackmailed into supporting these aspects of Israel?”….

It is but it’s indicative of the genetic abnormalities that could be expected with all the weird stuff they want to do these days!!!

I was equally appalled when I saw that Soros got it, too! 😊😊😊😊

ya think they really got Soros? or just one of his places—cuz if they know where he IS, he can be dealt with–don’t some countries have bounties on his head or arrest warrants or something?

Oh, no, I’m sure it didn’t cause him any pause personally. It’s just the idea that tickles me.

Good heavens! You should see all the birds out there scarfing up seeds….sparrows, finches, WP’ers, Blue Jays, Turtle Doves….all over the place! There’s probably at least 30 birds out there! Temp has dropped to 27 and still light snow. Not bothering them in the least!

the deer are the same way…with the corn/apple blocks.
the blue jays like the blocks too–they peck out the corn pieces

I am adding a short daily prayer to the board. I would invite each of you, if you wish, to also add one or maybe two of your own liking. I do not want to stifle anyone but please limit yourself to one or two religious postings. here’s one I found that I liked.

Excellent remedies, Pat! My personal favorites are the moisturizing leave-in and using oats for itchy skin. I have used it and it works wonders to soothe the skin.
