National Mason Jar Day

I went searching for things to do with Mason jars since it is National Mason Jar Day! (Who thinks these things up?)  I was astounded by the many, many uses for them!  I have included only a few here, but the links at the end provide many more ideas AND RECIPES!

There are many recipes you can make to put in mason jars and gift them—from cookies to homemade pancake mix to sweet and spicy nuts!  I loved this one because of the festive little Christmas light container.

If mixes aren’t your thing, how about using the jars to grow herbs?

There are many ideas for filling the jars with non-food related items and gifting them, such as this manicure in a jar idea!

Getting married and need an idea for the groomsmen?  Get some mini liquor bottles and create a mini bar in a jar!

I like this idea—very simple.  Get some white chocolate covered pretzels, a couple of buttons and viola!  Snowman in a jar!

This idea hubby loved—because hubby loves malted milk balls!

      1. Enjoy,

I’m doing well. Trying to balance all the office stuff I need for Mom. The puppy loved her walk.
Mom is limping. We are getting closer to a new knee. She just had her blood test. They change her blood thinner so we need to limp in again next week. AND I need to call for a stress test. Then I can call for the surgery and then I need to meet with the anesthesia team. And then I need to give her a different blood thinner before the date.Ugh!!!!!!!

        1. my son and his wife were up for Thanksgiving for a few days and they didn’t feel well, but they wanted to visit and stay and enjoy Thanksgiving. when they got home, they tested and discovered they have covid.
hubby and i have such different symptoms, but we’re not a testing kind of folk. my sinuses are a mess–but they usually are in the winter. hubby thinks he has a fever, but when i take his temp it’s perfect every time…so who knows?

  1. I am adding a short daily prayer to the board. I would invite each of you, if you wish, to also add one or maybe two of your own liking. I do not want to stifle anyone but please limit yourself to one or two religious postings. here’s one I found that I liked.
