What Shall We Make Today?

(Pat’s Note: This is a guest open from my hubby.)

In keeping with the Thanksgiving theme of the month, today’s recipe is for an important part of the Thanksgiving meal…the gravy!

You can simmer, you can stir, but for the absolute best turkey gravy?  Simply open and heat.

(Pat again) This is something we disagree on, but since I rarely eat gravy anyway, I’ll allow it…LOL

This is the Paper that I wanted to submit that the Judge refused to take, because he doesn’t want anybody to know about the Disclaimer Clause at the beginning of each Financial Statement. This is just part of it! That case is a disgrace to the Legal and Judicial System of New York. Hopefully the Appellate Courts will stop this travesty of Justice that everybody is watching and fully understanding!

    1. All aspects of security clearances have changed substantially since I was involved in that business. I have no idea which agencies are involved these days. I think what they are asking is that the Archivist put in a request to cancel the clearance.

EXCERPT: “The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency has completed the pilot program for a new portal for submitting security clearance applications, paving the way for the implementation of a federal-wide personnel vetting software, Federal News Network reported Monday.

The e-App is a portion of the National Background Investigation Services program that enables federal agencies to submit background investigations cases, according to Jeff Smith, NBIS executive program manager at DCSA.

The portal replaces the legacy Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing system and is designed with a more user-friendly interface and error checking and correction features.

“It removes a lot of the errors up front, therefore reducing any turnaround time or the back and forth, ultimately speeding along the applicants clearance request, and/or the periodic re-investigation for future deferment into continuous vetting,” Smith explained.

DCSA, which assumed the responsibility for NBIS from the Defense Information Systems Agency in 2020, expects to decommission a suite of legacy background investigation systems in 2023….”

        1. This is from 2020 and I can’t speak to the veracity but….

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Presidential security clearances are back in the news, with inquiring minds asking both what type of clearance eligibility a President-Elect Biden has has, along with what ongoing eligibility a President Trump might keep. When it comes to security clearances and presidential transitions, the most important thing to remember is that security policy is born out of executive orders, which means that clearance eligibility is the purview of the current sitting president. If the president wants to grant someone eligibility, that’s his or her right.

A major topic of debate when President Trump took office was whether or not he could have passed a traditional background investigation process, with his business investments and foreign entanglements. The answer is – it doesn’t matter. Presidents, members of congress, and other elected officials don’t go through a traditional background investigation process. The 13 adjudicative guidelines that apply to the typical security clearance holder do not apply to elected officials, including presidents – whether incoming or outgoing.

          CONTINUED ACCESS TO CLASSIFIED INFORMATION

Whether or not former officials keep their eligibility and access to classified information is another issue more grounded in tradition than policy. It is common for outgoing presidents and officials to be ‘read in’ on issues and topics where their prior position and expertise are useful. This is at the discretion of the current sitting president. That means that any access to classified information a former president or government official obtains has to be granted – they can’t just walk into the CIA and say ‘brief me.’

Security clearance policy has seen significant shifts and improvements with the ushering in of Trusted Workforce 2.0. It’s likely those improvements will continue to advance under a new administration, but only time will tell. When it comes to security clearances and a new administration, however, the more important issues are around what security clearance policies may or may not change moving forward – not who has access to classified information and who doesn’t.

    2. EXCERPT: “Perspecta Enterprise Solutions LLC won a $75 million other transaction agreement on May 14 to continue modernization of the federal security clearance process, in particular with machine learning and related technology.

The Defense Security Service and Defense Information Systems Agency awarded the 24-month OTA, which covers improvements to National Background Investigation Services information technology.

Perspecta will help DSS — which will eventually be renamed the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency — expedite background investigations, adjudications, continuous vetting and insider-threat programs by creating a Security Enterprise Architecture and Data Services prototype….”

  5. My Mom used this for her Spritz cookies:

“The baristas at an Upper East Side café all quit over the Jewish owner’s support of Israel. Instead of closing for the day, the Café is now busier than ever – with customers lined up around the block to show their support. The owner of Caffe Aronne, Aaron Dahan, was left short-staffed Tuesday morning after his baristas quit because he had displayed an Israeli flag and started a fundraiser for Magen David Adom, the Israeli Red Cross, since the Oct. 7 attacks. Dahan, 25, said a total of five baristas walked out since the day Hamas slaughtered 1,400 Israelis.”

    1. OK – thankfully, he killed it but then didn’t know what to do with it. I picked it up and threw it outside for Wheezer or whatever cat wants to eat it. Yuck!!! It was very small – another good thing – and not bloody…just dead…hell, IDK – maybe it was playing dead but it didn’t move.

        1. No, not baby-baby size but young. There are gaps underneath my kitchen cabinets that I discovered years ago when I first had one in the house – I had stuffed a few towels up into the gap. Apparently, I need to reinforce that and I am going to p/u some Decon that I can push into that gap. It will be far enough back that Jake can’t get to it. I’ll also replace the empty container on the patio, again, hidden so Wheezer can’t get to it. There is a crawl-space access point on the west end of the patio so I’ll put it there, then cover it up again.

  6. I just prepared the following transcript of the end of Tucker’s interview of Greenwald:

Tucker: “What is your prediction for the next year, exactly where the next election plays out…is it Trump vs. Biden in November? I mean, what do you think is going to happen?

Greenwald: “I mean, it seems to me like Republican voters have very consistently made clear that Trump is their candidate. I just want to add, one point about this next year, which I think is so important – I know it’s taboo, we’re not supposed to say anything good about Trump but the reality is, Tucker…and I think people are going to realize this more and more, is that Trump was the first American President in decades…in decades!…not to involve the US in a new war.

Whereas, here you have Joe Biden, seemingly there’s a new war popping up all the time, he wants to involve the US in every one, send all of their money overseas to them, and at the same time they remember that the economy was vibrant and good before COVID hit; you can’t lie to the American people about their own experiences…their “lived experiences,” as the left likes to say. I think as the next year approaches, people are going to start to think about and compare what their lives are like under Joe Biden where there’s wars everywhere, inflation and economic turmoil, what it was like during Donald Trump, and I think they’re going to be increasingly immune to the propaganda. To me, I don’t see anyone in the Republican party – obviously that can change – that suggests that they will abandon Trump.

Now, maybe the one variable is that if Trump is actually convicted rather than just indicted and charged as he is now, maybe that will change Republican voters or maybe that will change the electorate as a whole…I don’t think so, tho, because I think they look at this judicial system – there’s nothing that Trump did that feels like a traditional crime – it’s not rape, it’s not murder, it’s not embezzlement, it’s not bribery. There’s these very kind of technocratic and obscure crimes he’s accused of having committed, and I just don’t think most Americans think that the former President should be imprisoned for anything like that. So if I were a betting man, I think the odds look pretty good for Trump.”

Tucker: “I think you’re right…I’ve never sent money to a politician but if Trump is convicted, I’m sending him the max! [laughing] I think a lot of people feel that way, just as a middle finger!”
