Peanut Butter Balls! This recipe comes from my namesake, so these are a no-bake treat. I’ve seen different variations on these, including melting the peanut butter first—too fussy for Aunt Pat. Or, melting an entire bag of chocolate chips and dipping the balls instead of drizzling the chocolate—oh hell no, she’d say! TOO MESSY! But the options are always yours.
Aunt Pat’s Peanut Butter Balls

Ingredients
4 cups powdered sugar
½ cup butter, softened
2 cups peanut butter, regular or chunky
3 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups chocolate chips: your choice, semi-sweet, milk or dark
Cream the powdered sugar and softened butter. Add the Rice Krispies, mixing by hand. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. (If you choose to dip the balls into the melted chocolate instead of drizzling the melted chocolate over the balls, refrigerate so they are firmer before you dip.) Melt the chocolate chips in a plastic bag in the microwave for easier clean-up (a MUST for Aunt Pat’s recipes). Snip off the tip of the bag and drizzle the melted chocolate over the balls.
Another variation is to put the melted chocolate right into the balls instead of drizzling it on or coating the balls

Morning All!
when i came into the great room this morning, I was surprised at all the stars I could see!! There’s very little ambient light here–no street lights or things like that. But usually there’s some clouds obscuring the stars. not this morning! I could see stars thru the sky lights and in practically every other window and viewpoint!

Morning, Pat! Nipply this morning at 31 but Wheezer’s water didn’t freeze on the patio. He was sleeping in my chair this morning and jumped down for some petting before tucking into his breakfast. The wind couldn’t have been too bad during the wee hours since it never woke me up. Too dark to see if anything was blown around yet.

true. I was looking at the gorgeous colors in the woods surrounding us, and thinking it’s so sad. winter–the brown trees and white snow is around for several months. then spring/summer the greens (with some wildflowers) are here for about half a year. but fall with the dazzling color displays can be here for a very short time–if you get a really windy period, the leaves are all on the ground so quickly

Somewhere out there in the internet and printed paper, all the the facts we need to take down the #DeepState have been recorded.
Reflect. “Use logic”. This is a lesson of paramount importance and magnitude.
The 40+ year history of surrendering the Panama Canal to the Panamanians allowed the Chinese to take control. One of the most strategically important shipping lanes in the world is now operated by the Chinese. If you have not followed this subject yet you seriously need to. There is a TREMENDOUS amount of backstory here and if you’re not familiar with it, you may not understand the strong and bountiful evidence found here.
In the early 1900’s the US built the Panama Canal. It has been called one of the greatest assets to international shipping in the world. It has also been called a priceless asset to the US military because it allowed troops movements through that part of the world without having to go the additional 8,000 miles down and around the American Cape Horn, below Brazil.
In 1977 President Jimmy Carter signed a treaty that would surrender the Panama Canal to the people of Panama, however the actual surrender would not occur until December 31st, 1999. Carter’s agreement stated that at ANY TIME the US could revoke the treaty Carter signed and retain complete control of the canal. Within a very short time of signing that treaty China began investing in ports along the canal including the most Eastern and most Western ports that control the canal traffic. The Chinese were also given authority by Panama to use People’s Republic of China (PRC) military craft and personnel to patrol and monitor the canal which was a violation of the lonstanding treaty Panama had with the US. Still, the canal’s eventual surrender still happened.
When December 31st, 1999 arrived, final surrender fell to Bill Clinton’s (BC) presidency. Before then, in April of 1998, the US Army intelligence agency presented BC and his administration with evidence with confirmed reports that Chinese businessmen and the PRC were heavily involved in controlling the canal and would take complete control IF the US did in fact complete the surrendering of the canal to Panama. Clinton completely ignored the report and in early Decemeber of 1999 admitted herknew China would control the canal, even saying that China would operate the canal lawfully and respectfully.
Clinton knew China was going to take control. In addition to surrendering the canal, the numerous US military bases in Panama were closed and abandoned, causing the US’s ability to respond to incidents in the region much more difficult. Isn’t it ironic that today the Clinton Foundation owns or leases the ground where some of those bars were located.
There’s a reason Clinton surrendered the canal to the Chinese. The billionaire Chinese/Indonesian businessmen buying up ports and running the canal were the same people who illegally donated to his governor campaigns in Arkansas and later to his presidential campaigns in 1992 an 1996.
There were NUMEROUS nefarious dealings going on behind the scenes during all of this. James Riady and the Lippo group were financing Li Ka-Shing’s Hutchison Whampoa shipping lines and port purchases on the canal.
We believe the NUMBER ONE REASON Clinton wanted the Panama Canal deal to go through was to remove the US military from the region. A few years before, the Iran-Contra Affair had caused a major hiccup in world wide drug trafficking. A new shipping line needed to be freed up, away from prying eyes.
The US military was searching ships and cargo and stopping a lot of smuggling when they operated the canal. So, by letting go of the historical waterway and closing Panama’s US military bases, Clinton was removing the US military’s ability to actively monitor trafficking of drugs, money, people, weapons, etc.

“True costs of EVs revealed by bombshell report out of a Texas think tank”
By Olivia Murray
ENTIRE ARTICLE @ AT: “The electric vehicle industry is barely making it with all the cushy subsidies, grants, and backroom deals… imagine if these car companies were actually forced to manufacture a sellable and profitable product, and produce their own wealth instead of just stealing ours?
Just two days back, a regular AT contributor noted that the Big Three automakers were diminishing E.V. output because, according to The Wall Street Journal, coupled with a “need” to make rechargeable cars more profitable, there is a “slowing demand” for consumers.
Yesterday, Fox News reported on a “sweeping first-of-its-kind” Texas Public Policy Foundation analysis put together by “energy experts” Jason Isaac and Brent Bennett, which revealed that the actual cost of rechargeable cars and the E.V. industry is, in reality, much higher than they’re leading us to believe. From Fox:
‘According to the TPPF report … the average model year 2021 EV would cost approximately $48,698 more to own over a 10-year period without the staggering $22 billion in taxpayer-funded handouts that the government provides to electric car manufacturers and owners. The analysis factors in federal fuel efficiency programs, electric grid strain, and direct state and federal subsidies.’
Prices and costs to push these vehicles and the necessary infrastructure are already through the roof—one E.V. tech outlet asserted that between Joe Biden’s two biggest “accomplishments” (and I say that in the loosest most sarcastic sense), the Infrastructure Investment Jobs Acts of 2021 and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, put that number at $100 billion: ‘In total, the $100 billion for which EVs are eligible in IIJA and IRA represents nearly 30 times the total EV funding awarded by the U.S. government to date.’
“Nearly 30 times” the amount of our money doled out to date. Disgusting. Mind you, this article also specifically notes that this number is “not including tax credits or loan programs” and from Reuters, we learned that under the IRA, each E.V. is eligible for a $7,500 tax credit.
Now, if the energy experts in Texas are right, each car is costing almost $50,000 more than they’re telling us over a ten-year period, which obviously works out to about $5,000 a year. However, I’m not sure the report accounts for this but it’s certainly a relevant point, the U.S. dollar is losing its value at an astonishing rate, so in reality, I presume that over the course of ten years, this number is actually even higher.
One such cost included in the analysis is the “socialized cost” of charging stations. The extra strain on the grid amounts to around $12,00 of the extra $50k, which are “shouldered by utility ratepayers and taxpayers” many of whom, naturally, don’t own a recharge car… like myself.
Also from Fox: ‘It is not an overstatement to say that the federal government is subsidizing EVs to a greater degree than even wind and solar electricity generation and embarking on an unprecedented endeavor to remake the entire American auto industry,’ the report states. ‘Despite these massive incentives, EVs are receiving a tepid response from the majority of Americans who cannot shoulder their higher cost.’
This is exactly what a free market is supposed to correct. Ideas or products that do not bring enough of a benefit, to enough of a population, for a cheap enough cost… are meant to die and will. But, thanks to government, and particularly a socialist Democrat government, stupidity and failure are virtues, and it pays to be a leech. Socialism sucks.”

“A Texas farmer’s fight for justice could have major implications for property rights
By Jon Miltimore October 26, 2023 09:44 AM
ENTIRE ARTICLE @ WashingtonExaminer: “In the 1930s, Richie DeVillier’s grandfather purchased a farm in Winnie, a little town in eastern Texas named after a railroad contractor who prospered. For nearly a century, the DeVillier family raised cattle and grew crops on the 900-acre property without incident — until the Texas Department of Transportation started a highway project that had serious implications for DeVillier’s land.
In the early 2000s, the state renovated Interstate 10, elevating and broadening the highway and erecting concrete barriers. The construction trapped the DeVillier property, turning his farm into a lake whenever the region experienced heavy rains, as it did in 2017 during Hurricane Harvey.
“The water started to rise on August 28,” DeVillier recalled . “Our home was completely flooded by August 29.” When DeVillier says his “home,” he’s not talking about just his house. Video footage shows his entire farm submerged, with cows standing chest-deep in water; fields where the family once grew rice and olives can be seen totally flooded. “Two years later, it happened again,” said DeVillier. “My family has worked this land for generations, and we’ve never experienced the devastating flooding that has now become a terrifying norm.”
Some 100 cows and horses were killed in the flooding, and countless crops were lost. Yet the state has refused to compensate DeVillier, which prompted him to sue for damages. This is where DeVillier’s case gets interesting.
In November, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit punted on the matter, arguing that federal courts have no jurisdiction in takings cases against states. (A “taking” isn’t necessarily seizing the property; an action that substantially alters a property is legally defined as a taking in tort law.)
The court didn’t rule against DeVillier. It simply said that Congress never passed a law allowing Americans to sue states for taking their property, so the Fifth Amendment’s property protections do not apply to DeVillier or anyone else. The court’s reasoning is strange. Not only does the Constitution explicitly state that no person shall be “deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law … [or] without just compensation,” but the high court weighed in on this issue as recently as 2019.
In Knick v. Township of Scott , Chief Justice John Roberts made it clear that property owners do not need to exhaust state courts before seeking redress at the federal level, stating that a “property owner has an actionable Fifth Amendment takings claim when the government takes his property without paying for it.” George Mason University law professor Ilya Somin said it’s “simply false” that federal courts lacked the jurisdiction to hear DeVillier’s case, and in March urged the Supreme Court to take up the matter.
Last month, the Supreme Court did just that , and DeVillier’s attorneys sound optimistic that the high court will rule in their client’s favor. “If there is one basic principle in property law, it’s the Pottery Barn Rule: You break it, you buy it,” said Robert McNamara, an attorney for the Institute for Justice who is representing the family. “The Fifth Circuit’s decision in this case amounts to ‘you pay if you feel like it.’”
The court’s decision will obviously have serious consequences for DeVillier, who suffered millions in property damage. But it will also have consequences for all Americans. Property rights aren’t just the key to economic growth . They are the basis for all human rights, many argue. While we tend to think of certain rights as distinct from property rights, the economist Murray Rothbard once observed that human rights and property rights are inseparable. It’s a person’s inalienable right over himself, which he owns, that gives him the right to assemble freely and to speak freely, and to be secure in his effects “against unreasonable searches and seizures.”
“A man’s right to personal freedom, then, is his property right in himself,” Rothbard wrote. Rothbard is on firmer ground than one might think. According to the philosopher John Locke, the point of the social contract is to secure human rights over property (including our bodies). That the government, which was created to secure these rights, has become the single greatest transgressor of human rights is a sad irony, one that was not lost on the 19th-century economist Frederic Bastiat, who described it as a “perversion.”
Few know this better than Richie DeVillier, whom the state of Texas is trying to stiff after destroying his farm. Fortunately, the Supreme Court has a chance to make amends. If it does, it will not just be a win for DeVillier. It will be a win for justice.”
Pat, your SIL is a farmer, right? Might want to forward this to him….

EXCERPT: “The man suspected of fatally shooting more than a dozen people in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday night is still at large, police said Thursday, as his family urged him to turn himself in. Law enforcement officials are looking for Robert Card, 40, whom they said is considered armed and dangerous.
Card, a firearms instructor and a longtime Army reservist, began to hear voices that were saying “horrible” things about him about a couple of months ago when he was fitted for high-powered hearing aids, according to Katie Card, who is married to his brother. She said his mental health had deteriorated quickly. “He was picking up voices that he had never heard,” she told NBC News. “His mind was twisting them around. He was humiliated by the things that he thought were being said.”
—————
Katie Card said the family did their best to reassure Robert Card that the comments were not real, including by verifying with some of the people he claimed had made the remarks. But, she said, “it turned into a manic belief.” She said the family has been continuously messaging him to tell him he’s loved and that “he needs to do the right thing” but has not heard from him. “We don’t know this person. This is not him,” she said….”

Badlands Media opinion – I like Ashe – she is very pragmatic, logical and practical.
Our Take: “As I write this, we are coming up on the 24-hour mark of the Maine mass shooting, and authorities still haven’t captured alleged shooter Robert Card. Card has all the classic earmarks of a mentally unstable person who was MK-Uktra’d into committing atrocities. The fact that they haven’t caught him, with the level of public surveillance in US communities, seems anomalous; it’s hard to believe the most wanted man in America right now can go undetected.
Despite Card being at large, the public discussion focuses solely on disarmament. That messaging was locked and loaded — pun intended — from the moment news of the shooting broke Wednesday evening. The usual suspects are again blaming the gun for the actions of the gunman and, despite the fact that their outrage stems from the deaths of vulnerable and unarmed people, their solution calls for more vulnerable, unarmed people.
Keep your guns, America. Communists love to exploit tragedy to create the conditions for more tragedy. And the communists cannot achieve their endgame as long as the American people remain armed. Regardless of the shooter’s inception and motivations, the loss of life is tragic, and my prayers are with those impacted by this horrific crime.” — Ashe in America

NYC is spending $10MILLION just to do illegals’ laundry…
FTA
New York City is shelling out millions of dollars to wash dirty clothes for migrants in local shelters — including a $1.1 million emergency cleaning contract awarded to Queens-based CRC Management Co. for people in shelters it runs that was revealed in city records Thursday.
The free laundry service for migrants is leaving New Yorkers hung out to dry, local leaders said.
“Taxpayers are being taken to the cleaners,” said Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella. “Here we are providing laundry services to people who arrived here last week?
“That’s a lot of dough to spend on laundry. We should be spending that money elsewhere. It’s one more reason the migrant crisis has to come to an end.”
While a total figure spent by the city on migrant laundry was not known, it’s at least in the eight-figure range, as earlier this year a $10.5 million cleaning contract was awarded by the Health+ Hospital agency to Sodexo Laundry Service.
Millions of dollars of additional spending on laundry services are tucked into other contracts.

more bullshit–driver’s licenses for illegals are a civil rights issue. BULLSHIT. it’s a CRIMINAL issue. you commit a crime–you lose some of your rights–so someone who breaks our laws sneaking into our country don’t DESERVE to share in all our rights.
entire story
The state Civil Rights Commission is urging the legislature to expand driver’s license eligibility for undocumented immigrants.
The push to expand driver’s license eligibility for undocumented immigrants in Michigan has gained momentum in recent weeks.
In Michigan, only immigrants who can prove they entered the U.S. legally or are eligible to work in the country can get a driver’s license or state ID.
This week, members of the Michigan Civil Rights Commission passed a resolution in support of expanding driver’s license eligibility for undocumented immigrants.
Commission member Gloria Lara led the effort. She emphasized that access to a driver’s license is fundamentally a civil rights issue.
“If someone says that you can’t drive because of where you live, or you can’t have a driver’s license because of where you live or the color of your skin that is violating civil rights,” she said.
The debate has spilled over into the state legislature, with lawmakers wrestling with the decision of whether to support these proposed changes. Bills that would allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses or state IDs have been introduced in both the Michigan House and Senate.
However, opponents said there are national security issues to consider and the potential misuse of driver’s licenses. They said granting licenses and state IDs to undocumented immigrants might lead to confusion among electoral workers, potentially allowing ineligible individuals to cast votes. In the United States, only U.S. citizens are legally permitted to participate in local, state, and federal elections.
In 2008, Michigan lawmakers passed legislation prohibiting undocumented immigrants from being able to obtain a state ID or driver’s license.
For Lara, allowing undocumented immigrants to access driver’s license is just another way Michigan can become a welcoming place for all.
“There might be families where the driver does not have documents, but the children are citizens because they were born here, then those children can’t easily participate in all school activities and other events and with other organizations that they ordinarily would be able to because of lack of transportation,” she said.

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/hamas-delegation-arrives-moscow-after-russia-blamed-us-escalation
Our Take: “Once again we see the west escalating towards global war, while Russia, at least outwardly, makes moves towards peace.
For decades, our government has told us that Russia and its allies are savage world villains; yet it is the US pushing for further violence in a region known most for its violence. It’s a dark moment in the war of stories.
Hamas is not a victim — rather, they’ve made victims of both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples. From their rhetoric and actions, they appear intent on drawing out the conflict until they reclaim the Holy City and liberate the mosque. It will be interesting to see if any meaningful concessions result from their summit in Moscow. If Russia can deliver the Hamas side of ceasefire, the pro-Ukraine / pro-Palestine factions in the US will find themselves in a rough spot both psychologically and rhetorically.
Yesterday marked the anniversary of Israel’s 1994 peace agreement with Jordan, which still holds to this day — proving that peace is possible, but only when the parties actually desire peace. US leaders and their western allies speak of wanting peace, but it’s becoming more and more obvious that their words don’t match their intentions. And that’s a shame.” — Ashe in America

EXCERPT @ NBC: “Rep. Jamaal Bowman pleaded guilty on Thursday after being charged with falsely pulling the fire alarm at a congressional office building, a misdemeanor, before the House voted on a stopgap spending bill to fund the government last month.
“I’m thankful for the quick resolution from the District of Columbia Attorney General’s office on this issue and grateful that the United States Capitol Police General Counsel’s office agreed I did not obstruct nor intend to obstruct any House vote or proceedings. I am responsible for activating a fire alarm, I will be paying the fine issued, and look forward to these charges being ultimately dropped,” Bowman initially said in a statement Wednesday after he was hit with the misdemeanor charge.
“I think we all know that Republicans will attempt to use this to distract everyone from their mess, but I look forward to putting this behind me and to continue working hard to deliver for New Yorkers,” he said.
After his court appearance on Thursday, Bowman told ABC News, “I regret Capitol Police resources needed to be used to respond to that. I’m glad no one was hurt. I really regret that this caused so much confusion and that people had to evacuate and I just caused a disturbance,” he added. “I hate that. It’s pretty embarrassing.”

the “paraders” in the capitol on J6 caused NO CONFUSION…were LET INTO the building and left. they were held for over a year without trial!
this black man cause more confusion than any of the paraders and he gets a small fine and his charges will be dropped.
the color of your skin and your political affiliation sure does work in the left’s favor, doesn’t it?

Interesting….I clicked on the GP link you posted just to get the link to the original article and GP wouldn’t load unless I switch to Chrome for my browser. Another indication that GP has sold out to Google!!! I had to do an internet search to find the NBC original.

it happens after i run the cleaner sometimes–which i did last night–because of course windows had to install updates. (I always clean after that). then i have to install the new firefox update to fix the security problem…happens like clockwork…just wish i understood why

Huh…I never have to do all of that with the Brave browser…but I have Window updates turned off. Eventually, they will do a forced update but that only happens 2-3 times a year. I have started clearing the cache a couple of times a week now, whereas before I could do it once a month.
This is also determined by your hardware and operating system and it’s different for pretty much everyone.

i have my updates off too, but it forces them every once in a while still

Good News Friday: 10/27/23
DEFENDING THE REPUBLIC
October 27, 2023
Dear Patriots,
Seemingly from nowhere a man emerged to become the U.S. Speaker of the House. He was elected unanimously by Republicans. Call us crazy, but we are giving credit for this to divine intervention. The first act of then Speaker Designate Johnson was to gather the Republican caucus and pray.
We beseech you to add this man to your prayers. He will be besieged by evil and negativity from The Swamp. Pray that he be protected, made strong and wise.
With a backdrop of heartbreaking situations in the USA and the world, we offer a little respite of better news.”

EXCERPT: “Mike Johnson of Louisiana, the new House speaker, has pulled off what no one thought possible: He swept past the bad blood, the ego-driven personalities and ideological divisions among House Republicans and won a unanimous vote of his conference. The Goldilocks candidate even surprised Donald Trump. Trump predicted Monday, “There’s only one person” who could unite the party: Jesus Christ. “If Jesus came down and said, ‘I want to be speaker,’ he would do it. Other than that, I haven’t seen anybody that can guarantee it.”
There are famously Five Families warring inside the House Republican tent: the Tea Party-influenced House Freedom Caucus, the conservative Republican Study Committee, business-oriented Chamber of Commerce types, the moderate Republican Governance Group and the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
So how did Johnson get them temporarily to agree on electing him? He belongs to the Freedom Caucus and used to chair the Republican Study Committee, nailing down his right flank. His leadership position as House Republican Conference vice chairman meant he had personal relationships with many moderate members, who liked his low-key style and his willingness to listen to them. And he has demonstrated an interest in the details of legislation, impressing other members expert in tax, budget and defense issues.
It also didn’t escape the notice of MAGA members that he had served on the defense team in Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial in 2020.
New York House Republicans, several of whom blocked Jim Jordan’s speaker bid, all voted for Johnson so we can “get back to work.” Rep. John Moolenaar, a Michigan Republican, told Newsmax that Johnson “works well with all segments of our conference. I never heard a bad word about him.” Other members called him a “Happy Warrior” out of the same mold as the late Jack Kemp, who could disagree with someone without being disagreeable.
Finally, Johnson has formidable communication skills. A constitutional lawyer for the Alliance Defending Freedom, he has years of experience arguing cases in federal court. He was also a college professor and conservative talk-show host. Gary Palmer, an Alabama member who ran against Johnson for the speakership, told me Johnson’s Tuesday night speech asking for votes “was one of the finest I have ever heard in politics;” he was instantly enthusiastic to support him.
Having won such a miraculous victory, Johnson will immediately be tested in the boiling hot cauldron of the House. He will have to work with Democrats, the White House and fellow Republicans to avoid a government-funding shutdown that looms Nov. 18. Punchbowl News calls that “like advancing straight from tee-ball to the majors.”…..

“Georgia Supreme Court Upholds State’s ‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Law”
https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/georgia-supreme-court-upholds-states-heartbeat-abortion-law-5516022
QUOTE : “The Supreme Court of Georgia voted 6–1 on Oct. 24 to uphold the state’s six-week abortion ban.
The lawsuit against the ban was one of many nationwide that have been adjudicated in the wake of restrictive abortion laws that have followed the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade. In that case, the U.S. Supreme Court found that there was no right to abortion in the U.S. Constitution and returned the regulation of abortion to the states.
The Supreme Court of Georgia’s new ruling in State of Georgia v. SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective undid a lower court decision that voided parts of the Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act, which Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signed into law in 2019.
The legislation prohibited doctors in the state from performing abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, except in certain situations such as rape, incest, or a medical emergency.
Specifically, the statute outlawed abortion procedures “if an unborn child has been determined … to have a detectable human heartbeat.” Pro-choice advocates criticized the law, saying that many women aren’t even aware they are pregnant at the six-week mark.”

“Although there are dozens of active Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers in the U.S. Navy’s fleet, there’s something special about the USS Kidd. It doesn’t have any secret technology or weapons (that we know of), and its capabilities are the same as any other of its class. The standout feature that tends to capture the attention of even the most landlubberly civilian is the massive Jolly Roger that the Kidd is often seen flying from its mast.
The USS Kidd’s pirate flag, the infamous skull and crossbones that hearkens back to the Golden Age of Piracy that spanned the 17th and 18th centuries, is the only one the U.S. Navy has ever allowed to fly on one of its ships.”

Yes, I read there occasionally and get their e-mails, I think…I can’t even remember any more which ones I’ve signed up for – I try any that look interesting and then go from there. If they really piss me off, like Dr. Pierre Kory did recently, then I unsubscribe. For the most part, I’ve found them to be around 70% good but that’s just me….they tend to gloss over things and don’t go deep enough.
There is another substack writer that I really liked but a lot of substacks had a red banner that popped up at the bottom EVERY SINGLE TIME on every article (new w/in the last week) saying something like…’if you aren’t signed up for our e-mails….” Duh, asswipes! Clearly I’m signed up since I’m on your fricking list – how hard is it for the system to recognize me and stop that shit? At first, I thought it might be Substack overall but some of them did NOT have that banner so it is clearly something that isn’t necessary. It’s simply a sales ploy!
So I posted a comment more or less to that extent and no, I wasn’t nasty about it. I just made it clear that it was seriously irritating and asked for it to be fixed. I found myself suddenly unsubscribed without requesting it. Thin-skinned much, jackwad??!!?? Interesting, tho, that I’ve not seen that banner recently!!!

Such crazy weather – the clouds are breaking up (that won’t last) and the sun is shining; but the wind has flipped and is coming from the east but it’s not that windy now. It will flip back later again to the NW, which may lead to the snow tomorrow….up to 33 now. I think I’m safe putting the feeders back out so I’ll get that done while the sun is still out. Wheezer is out catting around.
