What Shall We Bake Today?

Today is National Apple Dumpling Day and I found a twist on the classic recipe—one that doesn’t use homemade pie crust which can be time consuming.  This Pillsbury recipe uses crescent rolls!

Ingredients

2 medium Granny Smith apples (about 2 cups)

2 cans (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)

3/4 cup butter, melted

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2/3 cup Sprite™ lemon-lime soft drink (from 20-oz bottle)

Steps

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13×9-inch pan with cooking spray.

Peel and core apples; cut into 16 slices.

Unroll dough; separate into 16 triangles. Place 1 apple slice on shortest side of each dough triangle. Starting with shortest side of triangle, roll to opposite point, wrapping dough around apple slice; arrange in pan.

In medium bowl, stir together melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour mixture evenly over dumplings.

Pour soft drink in center and along edges of pan. (Do not pour on top of dumplings.)

Bake 33 to 36 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 15 minutes.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

Don’t have Granny Smith apples? Try Honeycrisp or Braeburn apples instead. These apples, like Granny Smith, are crisp and will hold their shape after baking.

Add more complex flavors to your apple dumplings by adding 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg or cardamom to the cinnamon.

In place of Sprite™, you can also use sodas like ginger ale, 7-Up™ or Mountain Dew™.

Top apples with a few chocolate chips before rolling up for an extra sweet dessert!

Serve dumplings with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce!

NOTE TO FILLY: You can easily substitute PEACHES for the apples in this recipe!

  1. Morning All!
the hummers were hanging on the chains when i came down this morning…lol
    they were hungry!
we don’t have nearly the amount as we had before, but there’s at least 6 still hanging around.
temps about 50*…so i can’t imagine they’ll stay much longer

    1. Morning, Pat! Temp is 51 here – I still have a bunch of them swarming and, now that I put a couple more feeders out in front, they are swarming there, too. Not quite ready to head out yet, I guess!

DOJ is always at least one step ahead. Indicting Hunter on gun charges — rather than any of his crimes connected to foreign influence peddling — is part of DOJ’s continuing corrupt effort to shield and protect Joe Biden.

From any conventional law enforcement standpoint, the obvious step would be to indict Hunter for crimes connected to illicit foreign activity and tell him the only way out is to become a cooperating witness against “the big guy.”

The gun charge is orchestrated to give Democrats a talking point while deflecting away from the ringleader: Joe.

“Are the Accusations Against Russell Brand a Globalist Op to Eliminate Someone Dangerous to Them? Now is not the time for freedom-loving patriots to embrace their inner #MeToo.”
    JD RUCKER
    SEP 17, 2023

EXCERPTS: “Quick disclaimer: I have no idea if the accusations against actor and podcaster Russell Brand are real or fake. What I know for sure is that the timing of the corporate media documentary (he is NOT charged with a crime) is extremely suspicious. I also know that he’s been making some powerful enemies with his ongoing spread of liberal views (not to be confused with leftist views) that run counter to the approved narratives.

I am not going to dispute the validity of the sexual assault allegations against him because the “evidence” presented could be made up or it could be completely real. I’m not qualified to judge based on the limited information available. But considering the Jeffrey Epstein list has been completely buried with nary a corporate media journalist asking any questions, it’s conspicuous that Brand suddenly has these accusations against him at the height of his influence.

He’s opposed to Big Government, Big Pharma, the Ukrainian grift, and tyranny in general. Politically he’s more of a Neo-Marxist/Libertarian hybrid, if that makes any sense at all. So while I agree with many of his stances on personal freedom and transparency of government, I’m no fan of some of his other stances. This is a long preface, but it’s necessary because it’s prudent to understand WHY the powers-that-be would go after him before deciding whether this is a smear job or if he’s really facing truths being told by victims. Again, I don’t know enough to judge.

So let’s start with what is being claimed by the British news outlets who put the documentary together, as reported by Amanda Prestigiacomo at Daily Wire:
    ————–
Elon Musk pointed out that Brand is a threat to corporate media, Of course. They don’t like competition., “Of course. They don’t like competition.’ Tucker Carlson took a different angle, noting that Brand was a threat to known agendas of the New World Order. He posted, “Criticize the drug companies, question the war in Ukraine, and you can be pretty sure this is going to happen.”

Both Musk and Carlson would know because they’ve been targeted by the powers-that-be as well. The methods of taking down enemies of the globalists differ for each individual. It makes sense that they would target Brand with sexual assault accusations because it’s easier to suspend disbelief of such things when Hollywood celebrities are involved. Nobody would believe Tucker Carlson sexually assault four women just as nobody would believe Russell Brand was manipulating shareholders of his companies.

In other words, the powers-that-be (New World Order, Deep State, Globalist Elite Cabal, whatever you want to call them) personalize their smear campaigns to maximize believability.

Therein lies the key to takedowns of powerful people orchestrated by the powers-that-be. They know how to craft a narrative that keeps enough people in the dark until the damage is done. A great example of his was the Russian collusion hoax they used against Donald Trump. It has now been revealed that not only was it all made up, but more importantly they KNEW it was made up when they used it against him. But how many people have gone to jail over the destructive series of lies that plagued our nation for nearly four years? Exactly.

That’s their playbook. This is why it’s important to be extremely skeptical of the timing of this documentary hit piece against Brand. Whether any of it is true or not, the powers-that-be wield facts and fiction like weapons of individual destruction.

In the conservative sphere, there seems to be two dominant types of responses to the accusations. Many if not most are keeping quiet. They don’t want to be seen supporting an accused rapist but they also don’t want to speak out in case it’s all a setup. The other group are those who aren’t buying the narrative or the charges. Here are some examples of those people:….”

  5. What I find especially interesting, Pat, is that none of the BS happening at M’s is happening here. If they are just experimenting or testing, why go for the paid account over the free account? Doesn’t make sense, which is why I wonder if M’s was hacked in some way.

“The Cigarette Lighter Was Invented Before The Match”
    On: February 16, 2022

“Did you know that the cigarette lighter was invented before the match? It’s true! In fact, the first cigarette lighter was invented in 1823 by a German chemist named Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner. In 1826 John Walker, a chemist in Stockton on Tees, discovered through lucky accident that a stick coated with chemicals burst into flame. He went on to invent the friction match, which made creating fire much easier and faster.

Walker’s friction matches were made of cardboard at first, but he soon began to use wooden splints that he cut by hand. Later, he packaged the matches in a cardboard box equipped with a piece of sandpaper for striking. He was advised to patent his matches, but he chose not to. As a result, Samuel Jones of London copied his idea and launched his own “Lucifers” in 1829. These were an exact copy of Walker’s “Friction Lights”.

So Sundance declared Tucker Carlson’s career over after he interviewed a target of the communists. Since then, Tucker has REPEATEDLY dropped his sack on globalists across the western world.

Russel Brand is now being attacked by the same globalist lefties. Why are you silent?

I know the answer to my own question. Sundance is not who he appears. He is not even a he. The endless safety dances show Sundance is a chick, and a chick who attacks Deplorables with underhanded attacks, and whose forum is nothing but federal agents and informers in Deplorable drag.

Am I wrong? Prove it and don’t delete this. Show that you believe in free speech (but you already said you don’t)

Censors ARE the Decepticon communists, and your time in the sun is almost at an end.

  9. BTW, no sign of GT this morning and I’m done playing games with her. I’ll keep opening the door and putting her food on the patio for a couple of days yet – if she wants to eat, she’ll come on the patio for it. Otherwise, she is on her own.

  10. Well, alrighty then….this cat….still can’t tell for sure whether GT is male or female – thought I saw some berries under there today. I was looking outside and saw something in the yard so I got my binocs and sure enough, it was GT – apparently found a dead bird ’cause it (since I don’t know for sure, GT is “it” until I do!) was eating something and then rolling in it, which is what they do (so do dogs). When I called “kitty, kitty” it’s head snapped around and it came strolling over towards the patio.

So I grabbed a cushion and the dish of food and sat down outside in front of the door, putting the dish down about 10″ away in front of me. After meandering back and forth, it came closer – about another 5″, then rolled and rolled, gradually working it’s way towards the bowl. Finally, it looked at me for a minute, I stirred the food, and it decided to go ahead and eat. I sat there the entire time and reached out a couple of times – it pulled back but didn’t move away and I didn’t push it.

Meanwhile, Jake is on the window sill growling in his throat; GT glances up once and a while but otherwise ignores him. While I was sitting there watching it eat, 2 battling hummers almost hit me in my face! LOL – GT ignored them. Also has ear mites, from all the scratching going on. I could have made a grab but I wasn’t prepared with everything I would need and I need to get more canned food for the wormer. Still skinny as a rail.

    I know, I know what I said….ignore me! ROFL – I’m a fricking sucker, dang it!

      1. “The Significance of the 33rd Degree in Masonry

In the Masonic hierarchy, achieving the 33rd degree is a high honor conferred upon members who have made significant contributions to society or to Freemasonry in general. It’s an honorary degree granted by the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, one of several appendant bodies within Freemasonry.

The rank reflects immense dedication and commitment as it requires years of involvement and progressive advancement through Masonic teachings.

The number ’33’ itself holds symbolic significance in numerology and religious contexts, often associated with spiritual awareness and enlightenment. In this context, 33rd Degree Masons are considered ‘Illuminated’, bearers of tremendous responsibility.

Lights shining on their wisdom guide those under their mentorship while influencing major societal issues too, as evidenced by many influential figures throughout history being 33rd Degree Masons.

Therefore obtaining this revered status transcends conventional understanding; it mirrors a lifetime dedicated to promoting brotherhood, charity, and personal development – core values that Freemasonry hails since time immemorial!”

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-colony-ridge-the-fastest-growing-development-in-the-u-s-is-a-magnet-for-illegal-immigrants

FTA “PLUM GROVE, Texas — A Texas land developer has established a sprawling settlement north of Houston where thousands of illegal immigrants are believed to have settled, raising concerns among experts and elected officials that the development 400 miles in the interior of the United States could become a strategic asset for cartels.

Colony Ridge, owned and operated by developer William “Trey” Harris, is rapidly expanding, at least in part due to a financing arrangement that makes it possible for illegal aliens to buy land deep in the heart of Texas. While traditional financing methods require credit ratings and proof of income, Todd Bensman, a National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, told The Daily Wire that buyers at Colony Ridge are able to circumvent the usual requirements, even dodging the need to provide a social security number. “Because with a traditional bank loan you need to be able to show that you have a credit rating and proof of income,” Bensman said, adding that buyers at Colony Ridge are asked to pay as little as a “few hundred dollars” as a down payment. “The loan is directly from the developer, bypassing traditional mortgages,” and while the buyer might pay high interest rates near 15%, it’s a great deal for someone with no other option to buy land in the country, Bensman explained.

“Think of the chain migration that comes in, think of the criminal elements with the cartels that come in through that chain migration,” J. Michael Waller, Senior Analyst for Strategy at the Center for Security Policy told The Daily Wire. “This is going to be cartel land near Houston and at risk of being a no-go zone.” Waller said developments like Colony Ridge will “change the entire United States of America,” and to a large extent, already have, going on to suggest that similar settlements are “being planted in pockets around the country.”

What could possibly go wrong with these kinds of developments???? The destruction of the Republic and the country continues from within unabated!!! Very disturbing article!! I didn’t know anything about this and I live near Houston!!!
