Today’s offering is a great light summer dessert recipe: No Bake Peaches & Cream Dessert!

No Bake Peaches ‘n Cream Dessert is packed full of fresh peaches, a peach infused creamy filling with a sweet Pecan Cookie Crust.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups peaches peeled, diced
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups crushed pecan sandies cookies approx 15 cookies
3 tbsp butter melted
1 tbsp corn starch
1 tsp vanilla
1 8 oz tub cool whip
Instructions
Combine the diced peaches, lemon juice and sugar. Let sit for 1 hour.
Combine the crushed cookies and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 9×9 inch pan. Refrigerate until needed again.
Once the hour is up, you should have at least 1/2 cup of ‘syrup’. It’s okay if you have more. If you don’t have 1/2 cup, let it sit a little longer until you have 1/2 cup.
Whisk the cornstarch into the peach syrup. Microwave for 1 minute. The syrup will thicken. Cool to room temperature.
Fold the thickened syrup into the cool whip. Add the vanilla and diced peaches. Stir until complexly mixed.
Spread onto the crust and garnish with more cookie crumbs if desired.
Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy!

“First they wanted you to plug your car in at your house to run it. Now it seems the opposite is the new mantra. According to the New York Times, the battery in an F-150 Lightning or the electric Chevrolet Silverado pickup, which is expected to go on sale this year, can store a lot more energy than home batteries that are sometimes installed with rooftop solar panels.
They say if you pair an electric truck with a home solar system a family could keep the lights on for days or even weeks. The use of electric vehicles as a source of power has intrigued electric utility executives, including Pedro Pizarro, who heads the board of the Edison Electric Institute, the industry’s main trade organization, and is the chief executive of Edison International, which provides power to millions of homes and businesses in Southern California.
Personally, I think they make shit like this up to advance their virtue signalling about climate change, but who am I to say, right?”

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer issued the following statement after committee staff today conducted a transcribed interview with a former FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the FBI’s Wilmington office and the Biden criminal investigation:
“Today, a former FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the FBI’s Wilmington office and the Biden criminal investigation confirmed key portions of the IRS whistleblower’s testimony. The night before the interview of Hunter Biden, both Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were tipped off about the planned interview. On the day of the Hunter Biden interview, federal agents were told to stand by and could not approach Hunter Biden—they had to wait for his call. As a result of the change in plans, IRS and FBI criminal investigators never got to interview Hunter Biden as part of the investigation.
“The Justice Department’s efforts to cover up for the Bidens reveals a two-tiered system of justice that sickens the American people. The Oversight Committee, along with the Judiciary Committee and Ways and Means Committee, will continue to seek the answers, transparency, and accountability that the American people demand and deserve.”

COOK, Minn. — Cleanup is underway following a train derailment Monday night in northern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and first responders from the Cook Fire Department were dispatched just before 8:30 p.m. after reports that a Canadian National Train went off the tracks in a remote area near Field Township, just six miles north of Cook.
Responding deputies learned that a total of nine cars had derailed with five of them found laying on their sides. Sheriff’s officials say two of those cars were carrying hazardous material in the form of liquified petroleum gas (propane and butane). No leaks or spills were immediately apparent.
The sheriff’s office says the public is not in danger as the incident occurred in a non-residential area.
Crews from St. Louis County Emergency Management are on scene Tuesday to help with cleanup and containment while investigators determine the cause of the derailment.
Canadian National Railway did not immediately respond Tuesday morning to an Associated Press request seeking comment on potential reasons for the derailment or when the line would reopen to rail traffic.
The Cook derailment comes less than two months after a Canadian Pacific Kansas City train derailed in the northwest corner of Minnesota near the Canadian border. In that May 31 incident, 24 cars went off the tracks, but there were no reported spills or injuries.

Illegal immigrant kids with tuberculosis infections released into 44 statesThe government is releasing thousands of illegal immigrant children with latent tuberculosis infections into American communities without assurances of treatment.
Nearly 2,500 children with latent infections were released into 44 states over the past year, according to a court-ordered report on how the Health and Human Services Department is treating the children.
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/jul/18/health-department-released-thousands-of-illegal-im/
About 126,000 total were released, indicating an infection rate of 1 in 50 migrant children.

The report also revealed that HHS has no “secure” shelters to place UACs with criminal records or histories of violence, threats or sexually predatory behavior.
The report doesn’t say where those dangerous UACs are placed, given the lack of a secure facility.

Republican House Managers chosen by House Speaker Dade Phelan, R-Beaumont, aren’t complying with a discovery order issued by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton’s attorneys claim.
The order requires House Managers to provide all reports, documents, business records, government records, papers, recorded witness statements, among others in possession of House officials relevant to any of the articles of impeachment.
“This demand for secrecy is unacceptable but not surprising from members of the very kangaroo court that impeached Ken Paxton, a body that was guided by politics instead of the law,” Buzbee said. “It is clear that the House realizes there is no evidence to support impeachment, and the House doesn’t want the people of Texas to learn this fact.”
Buzbee also asked Patrick “to force Phelan and the liberal House behind this sham impeachment to immediately comply with his order to disclose documents. The people of Texas deserve transparency and the liberal politicians in the Texas House who are siding with Joe Biden should not be allowed to hide the fact that it was a kangaroo court behind this impeachment with no evidence. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.”
