What Shall We Make Today?

Food 1 Minute

As promised, today’s offering is my mom’s Crab Pasta Salad.  She didn’t include a picture of hers, and when I went searching, I couldn’t find one with all the same ingredients.

Crab Pasta Salad

Ingredients

8 ounces cooked and drained pasta (any type: spirals, shells, macaroni)

8 ounces imitation crab meat

1 cup frozen peas thawed

1 cup fresh broccoli

½ cup chopped green pepper

1/3 cup chopped red pepper

¼ cup sliced green onion

2 stalks celery chopped small

¾ cup mayonnaise

1/3 cup Italian salad dressing

3 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the pasta, crab meat, peas, broccoli, green and red peppers and onion.  In another bowl, combine the mayonnaise, salad dressing, and Parmesan cheese.  Pour over pasta mixture and toss to coat.  Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until chilled. Enjoy!

    looks like a clear sunrise for a change!
    yesterday before i brought the feeders in, i held the one in my hands. (there’s an aggressive male that was preventing the 2 small females from sitting on any of the feeders.) so i held the feeder and they sat and drank. he was mad! he kept flying at my face–i could feel the breeze from his beating wings…lol…but i didn’t let go of the feeder.
    he would not land on it tho. his loss…lol

    1. Morning, Pat! Storms never materialized but it rained off-and-on all day and it’s cloudy again this morning. Really chilly, too – only 61 when I got up! GT ate his breakfast while I refilled the jelly feeder. He simply does NOT want me to approach him. I LOVE crab salad, with or without pasta! Yummy!

    CBS News reported that a source close to the situation confirmed the substance was found in a “cubby” located in a “storage facility” of the West Wing, which houses the Oval Office. The source said the cubbies are routinely used by White House staff and other guests to store their belongings.

    All the controversy about what Joe Biden and his crime family received in the form of illegal cash payments during his vice presidency under Barack Hussein Obama is just a drop in the bucket compared to what Biden and his cronies stole in order to purchase Chinese-made covid “test” kits.

    Estimates range from $900 million to $1.1 billion as to the amount of money Biden stole from United States taxpayers in order to buy pallets upon pallets of Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) test kits.

    Reports indicate that Biden and his cronies paid $1 per test kit for 100,000 kits at a time. We know, however, that only 400 million covid test kits were purchased by the regime, the first batch being 300 million followed by an additional 100 million.

    Simple math shows that at $1 a pop, this should have costed Americans no more than $400 million, as the more one buys of something the cheaper it gets per unit due to bulk discounts. So, what happened to the other $600 million that the Biden allegedly forked over to communist China for these test kits?

    It turns out that the Biden regime claimed publicly that it spent $1.3 billion on 400 million covid test kits that were supposed to have cost $1 per kit. If this is true, then what happened to that other $900 million?

    The website Root for America published a report stating that, in reality, each test kit at such a purchase volume should have cost no more than 50 cents per kit, in which case only $200 million should have been spent by the Biden regime – leaving $1.1 billion unaccounted for.

    This is where the $900 million to $1.1 billion figure range comes from, which begs lots of questions as to what happened to the rest of all that cash. Did the Biden Crime Family pocket some of it? Did the Biden Crime Family’s corrupt connections in Ukraine and communist China also get a cut? How much did “the big guy,” referring to Joe Biden himself, personally receive from the scam?

    An anonymous writer for conservative RedState collected a handful of tweets suggesting the former president’s son as the culprit, though he hasn’t been to the White House since early in 2021, and a self-described #resist account posted a compilation video with clips of Trump Jr. sniffling.

    President Biden’s son visited the White House two days before the bag was found, Daily Mail reports. The two then traveled to the presidential retreat at Camp David.

    While the New York Post reported the substance was found in the White House library, citing the D.C. firefighter dispatch call, the Secret Service said it was found in an unspecified “work area” in the West Wing, according to the Washington Examiner.

    Other theories include that the bag was left by someone on a White House tour group despite the fact that the last tour happened a full day before the cocaine was found and it doesn’t go into the library, the RedState writer said.

    Go see it. You truly must. Sound of Freedom is pure perfection. Gripping, chilling, evocative, it will seize your soul and break your heart. It will lift you up and give you hope. It will open your eyes and steel your resolve to make this world a better place. It is a true story, making it all the more compelling.

    Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ) plays the lead character, representing Tim Ballard, a Homeland Security agent who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of child sex/slave traffickers. Tim is unsatisfied that he has been unable to rescue the kids. Eventually resigning his DHS career and going vigilante, Tim decides to try to recuse a very specific child, and as many others as he can in the process. Supported in his role by excellent co-actors, the storytelling, cinematography, and the grim nature of this disgusting trade are presented with taste, tact, and gravity, with moments of levity that are both appropriate and a welcome relief in a film dealing with such an important and disturbing subject.

    The filmmakers managed to pull it all off without graphic violence, without vulgar language, and without gratuitous sex scenes.

    It took 5 years for this film to be released. Think about that for a moment.

    You will be on the edge of your seat the entire film, and you may want to tuck a few Kleenex tissues into your pocket or purse to have on hand. Be sure to stay for the “special message” after the credits. The theater where I attended on Independence Day was sold out; they even brought a few chairs from the little dining area in to accommodate the audience. It was the quietest audience I have ever heard, or rather not heard, ever. Until the applause at the end.

    This author gives this film a 20 out of 10 rating, highly recommended. If you want to see it and cannot afford tickets, there is a program in place that provides tickets for free, and you can contribute to that program if you are in a financial position to do so. Simply search for “free tickets to Sound of Freedom” and you will find multiple avenues to participate. Either way, go see this moving and important film.

  18. if I’m reading this right, this law wants to bar NON CITIZENS (aka illegals) from collecting and mining data from voter registrations. this obama judge says that’s unconstitutional. HOW????????? I don’t see a place for ANY ILLEGAL in our voting process!
    (in this case a legal immigrant from El Salvador was registering voters for a third political party and they brought suit against FLA. )

Angel Studios’ aggressive, pay-it-forward policy means it’s a likely hit before it graces a single screen.

    The film isn’t getting much help from Rotten Tomatoes. The release isn’t featured in the “new and upcoming” section on its front page. The slideshow-like gallery showcases 20 films (both obscure and mainstream titles) but leaves “Sound of Freedom” out. The site’s critical roundup, as of early July 4, stands at an impressive 85 percent/99 percent “fresh” rating from critics/audiences.

    Variety gave the film a hearty recommendation, but not before attacking both Christians and conservatives in its review.

    “Sound of Freedom” has been heavily marketed on right-wing media, like Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire, and — one of the grand subtexts of all of this — in taking on the issue of the horrific criminals who kidnap and traffic children, the film could be seen as adjacent to the alt-right paranoia that was originally stoked by 4Chan and QAnon: the wing-nut conspiracy theory about a Washington, D.C., pizza parlor being a front for a pedophile ring, extending into the larger conspiracy theory that says that the culture of liberalism is a racket to protect and cover up the actions of pedophiles.

    Child trafficking is a shocking and sad reality, which means the critic’s tangent makes no sense. That hardly seems to matter for “Sound of Freedom,” a fact-based story on track to give Summer 2023 its biggest sleeper success story.”

    1. I stayed busy puttering, reading….during my morning walk-about/watering – yes, in spite of rain off and on all day yesterday, some pots under the eaves aren’t far enough out to catch it. It got really cool last night – 60 – and still only 69 and cloudy today, w/a stiff breeze now and then. Still need to mow in back but that doesn’t look like it will happen today, unless it clears off and dries out a bit.

      Noticed these lilies blooming – they were already here when I bought the place. Playing again with my camera….

      I noticed that the cantelope vines were beginning to wrap the tendrils around the wire, and since each flower could turn into a fruit, I decided to go ahead and remove the cage from one hill. IF the bunnies leave them alone, then I will remove the other one as well. There are 4-5 flowers, altho you can’t see them all:

    I met with my Mac tech guy today to try to iron out all the problems with my new computer.

    He fixed my Pat’s Blog problem! It was a matter of changing the ‘no tracking’ option. YAY!

      1. Those chunks get crushed into powder, then snorted, cooked to create crack/rock and/or smoked. Those who can use it on a VERY casual basis enjoy a j with some crushed rock sprinkled over it – it counteracts the sleepy effect of MJ.

    At publishing time, Macron had invited Rittenhouse to France, causing rioters to immediately surrender.”
