DIY: Show Your Colors

This 4th of July, display your patriotic pride! With these super simple wreath ideas, you can show the world what country has your heart!

Bandana Wreath

If you can tie a knot, you can make this wreath! And you don’t even need a formal wreath form as a base. You can use cardboard!

Pompom Wreath

This wreath uses pompoms glued to a wreath form (found in any dollar store).

Clothespin Wreath

After you paint the clothespins, you attach them to a wire wreath form. (You might have to get one of those at a craft store.) Add some purchased wooden or foam stars.

Card Stock Paper Wreath

To make this wreath, make funnels out of card stock paper (thicker and stiffer than regular colored paper). Then attach the funnels to a cardboard circle in a flower design. Add a pleated circle for the center and finish off with a star!

Canning Lids Wreath

After painting the lids, use heavy ribbon to tie the lids into a tight circle. (This will be the smaller inner circle.) Then use additional ribbon to weave in and out of the lids on the outer edge as shown. Add foam stars and a bow!

Party On Peeps!

  2. Well, I guess I won’t be mowing today…already up to 86, humid and no breeze! Nope! But I do have to water in front – already got the ones in the back. Cantaloupe vines are growing up the sides of the fencing – a couple of them already have blooms – haven’t decided yet whether take the fencing down or just leave it….we’ll see.

Interesting, the Communist Democrats are trying to put Tara Reade in jail now too, another “sealed indictment,” with unknown charges against her if she ever returns to the US.

    Our govt. is so crooked…

“This is because I could face charges and possible indictment for an ominous menu of kangaroo-court offenses, including sanctions violations, FARA (Foreign Agents Registration Act) violations and any number of other things.”

EVs = An unworkable solution to a non-existent problem…. Brought to you by the same rocket scientists who thought defunding the police would improve public safety.

We’re dealing with a cult of morons.

  4. Ah! Another plan coming to fruition….this spring, I picked up an iridescent purple/pink/gold glass nectar feeder, specifically to hang under the Trumpet Vine trellis/arch, and I wanted to hang it on the very top cross-bar, rather than one of the lower side bars. I wanted it centered under the arch.

But it’s too tall for me to reach w/o a ladder….so I needed something I could hang from the top, with a hook on the bottom, to hang the feeder on that I could reach. But I only had bright red and green bungees that were long enough, which would really clash with the colors. I had time since I wanted to wait until the vines had climbed high enough and I looked for one of those retracting plant hangers – never ran across one. Ironically, at one time, I had one – brand new, in the box – that was my Mom’s and I sold it at a yard sale! See why I keep things??!!??

Well, the vines have reached the top, and I’ve figured it out – I went looking and remembered that I have 3 heavy rubber “bungees” with hooks on the end from my equestrian life back in VA – how’s that for hoarding??!!?? I’ve lived here in NE since 2009! So I pulled my big toolbox over to stand on (sitting against the garage outside, saving me from getting the ladder – it’s on wheels, thankfully) and hooked it over the top bar. It is exactly the right length for me to walk up and simply lift the feeder off! IF the vines bloom this year….the colors will be gorgeous! And the feeder itself will add the color if they don’t! See? Kill 2 birds with one stone! LOL

  5. sooooooo COOOOOOOL!
I was out holding the hummer feeder flat between my 2 hands so that my thumbs touched the outer edge. i had those 2 young hummers land on my thumbs to drink!!!! the older “general” male who chases the others was too chicken to land! so they sat and fed!
when they left, he flew right up to my face chattering and scolding…LOL

Has the Criminal Biden Regime Utterly and Totally Corrupted Medicare?
    July 2, 2023
    Paul Craig Roberts

    https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2023/07/02/has-the-criminal-biden-regime-utterly-and-totally-corrupted-medicare/

    (snip)
To get back to the subject: I noticed on my Medicare summary statement a charge of $96 dollars paid by Medicare for a March 23, 2023 billing by Mars Lab Services Inc, in Chicago Illinois for “provision of covid-19 test, nonprescription self-administered and self-collected use, fad approved, (K1034).” I was expecting no such tests. None of my doctors had ordered such tests, and shortly afterwards a package of 8 tests appeared in my mail.

Apparently 8 tests were not enough. Medicare paid $96 to Covigen Medtox Lab Inc. in Linden NJ for a May 2, 2023 billing of “provision of covid-19 test, nonprescription self-administered and self-collected use, fad approved, (K1034).”

I now have 16 tests at Medicare’s expense for which I have no use. All of the tests came with expired dates, but with a notice that the FDA had conveniently extended the shelf-life of the expiration date.

Initially, I suspected fraud based on a previous experience (more below) and reported to an uninterested Medicare fraud division the mysterious receipt of covid tests. However the second batch of tests came with a note that said “tests are totally free, paid for by the Government,” and “please do not return.”

Free to me but not to Medicare.

Why is Medicare paying for expired covid tests to be sent to those on Medicare? Is the Biden regime using scarce Medicare funds to buy up Big Pharma’s surplus covid supplies? What else could it be? Am I going to catch Covid 16 times? How many tests will arrive on my next Medicare summary statement?
    (snip)

Someone needs to investigate why Medicare is paying for expired covid products to be sent to those on Medicare. Is this a Biden regime payoff to Big Pharma? But who is to investigate? CNN? NPR? The New York Times? It will never happen.

The Republican House? They are already buried in myriad investigations of the most utterly corrupt administration in American history.

Wherever you look in America, you see nothing but corruption. Our totally corrupt country will not last much longer.

  9. I am adding a short daily prayer to the board. I would invite each of you, if you wish, to also add one or maybe two of your own liking. I do not want to stifle anyone but please limit yourself to one or two religious postings. here’s one I found that I liked.
